things I've had to change around my apartment so that my cat doesn't wreck it at night in his mighty efforts to get me up:

I used to have a knit runner and a ceramic vase with dried flowers on top of the dining table. I don't anymore.

can't leave the laptop and cable on top of the dining table overnight. yes he bites at the laptop.

can't leave ANYTHING that can be knocked down, bitten or scratched on top of the table actually. table must be clear of everything.

had to clear my desktop off all extra notebooks and papers, and I have to put my planner away at night

have to flip my keyboard up, push the mousepad and mouse close to the wall and weigh it down with the pencil cup, cover it all up with a tablecloth AND put something up to keep him from just swiping at the tablecloth, which he tries to do anyway

have to put a towel on top of the wicker box next to my desk or he will scratch at the lid

have to prop a notebook open on top of my bedside table to leave as little jumping space as possible and keep him from knocking my glasses to the floor. which he has.

can't keep my water bottle there anymore

have to prop the extra pillow on the other half of the bedside table to keep him from climbing up from the bed/swiping at the lamp switch

have to add an old bedsheet on top of the bedspread/bedsheets so he won't ruin them when he starts to aggressively make biscuits. in fact recently I've had to open it fully and try to cover the parts that fall to the floor because he discovered he can scratch at them from the floor

have to put his scratchers on top of a towel because when he gets into it, he makes them knock against the floor

had to pile up the few cardboard boxes at the bottom of my bookcase so he won't scratch the lids anymore

had to move two of the few ceramic pieces I finished that where in my bookcase... after he smashed them to pieces

have to keep his carrier closed or he'll get in just to scratch at the bottom (it's covered with a plastic bag due to peeing incidents)

sometimes I have to put his litterbox in the bathroom because he knows it makes noise

"hey that sucks but it seems like you got all your bases covered! you must be sleeping better now that you figured it out"

I don't. I sleep like shit 5/7 nights. He turns into a demon and nothing I've done works consistently. He continues to find ways to wreck my stuff and/or keep me awake thinking he might. I might need to perform an exorcism because I've run out of ideas and I'm exhausted.

#cats #outing myself once again as someone whos not attune whatsoever to human culture but - in all honesty I do not know #what 'psspsspss' means despite loving cats my entire life hghj.. I've just seen people online describe that as how you call a cat #but I have never in my life witnessed someone call a cat by making that noise or made that noise myself. I can't even think of an example o #it so I genuinely don't even know what that's supposed to be but. Included because I've seen it so much it must be something to someone #even when I was a kid I pretty much always just meowed to cats and tried to sound exactly like them or whatever meow I associated with them #obviously not literally saying “ME OW” but doing an actual cat meow. often times a kind of 'prrrow' sort of noise where you trill your tong #ue then lead into a softer vocal tone .. maybe like 'mrrrrauh' or something? Or sometimes just a trilling chirp immitating the #cat's ''mrrrrp'' they do sometimes. I used to mimic small kittens to get the attention of cats #with their like very high pitches squeky whine with a little bit of air out the nostrils at the end to imitate the sound of them having #tiny lungs that don't hold much air so with a long loud 'mew' it's sometimes a little strained near the end #Though usually I just imitate the cat that I'm around at the time. Sometimes I have done kind of a combination kissy lip sort of noise #tongue clicking. almost like tapping on the back of your front teeth with your tongue and sucking in. almost makes kind of a squirrel noise #ANYWAY... curiouse....

it always pisses me off a bit when i see people trying to use their platform to Educate The Public and the "educational resources" they provide are twitter threads, tiktoks, and carrds. like yes absolutely a social media post from a primary source is invaluably helpful when it comes to getting first-person perspectives on current events, but you just cannot learn extensive history from tiktok. idk. maybe you can. maybe i'm being too quick to write off tiktok as a whole. it's just rare that a tiktok is going to be well-researched and provide sources for the viewers to vet or use for further research on their own, so it's natural to be doubtful.

people easily believe anything on social media if it's well-said and seems sincere, which is just dangerously stupid. vet your sources. think critically. don't just blindly believe a tiktok because the person filming it is using smart people words

Since Kojima’s been saying that the Death Stranding film is going to tell a story that can only be told through the film medium, I really hope it’s a prequel to the game. There are a lot of background events represented through text and dialogue that wouldn’t translate well to a video game format on their own.

It’d be really cool to see the start of the Stranding, Victor and Igor’s backstory (as seen in the DS novelization), snippets from Sam’s childhood/early years with Bridges, the development and construction of the chiral network, and most of the events described in Higgs’ journals.

Coffin’s decision to leave her family behind, start a terrorist uprising by radicalizing the porters who unknowingly abetted human sacrifices by delivering BBs for the chiral network, and the decision to adopt Higgs as her protégé? That story alone would be worthy of a film.
