dear f1blr,
i'm asking for some help here so the news can travel faster and reach as many people as possible.
next week is the Hungarian Grand Prix and the organizers decided to impose new regulations without formally notifying anyone. i'm going to discuss these under cut so anyone who is attending the race can read it there.
please share this so a lot of people's lives will be easier next week. thank you!
so hopefully everyone knows that you can only enter the track if you have either Hungarian immunity certificate, EU Digital COVID Certificate, foreign certificates from certain countries or a negative PCR not older than 72hrs.
trick is, as it was "announced" today, that you have to collect a paper armband with your certificates that allow you to actually enter the venue. you can do that by:
buying your ticket at the track so that way they'll check out your ID and certificates and give you the armband, or
if you bought your tickets beforehand, you can only collect the armband at either of these two checkpoints: Akvárium Club at Deák Ferenc Street (Downtown Budapest) or Auchan Parking Lot in Fót (city outside the administrative skirts of Budapest, near Mogyoród where the track is). IMPORTANT: you can only pick up your own armband since the staff has to check your IDs therefore you cannot collect anyone else's armbands, not even family members'. The checkpoints are open in the following schedule: July 28-29 (Wednesday-Thursday): 8:00 - 20:00 July 30-31 (Friday-Saturday): 6:00 - 20:00 August 1 (Sunday): 6:00 - 15:00
i'm writing these down because i haven't seen any media coverage of this, nor posts on Facebook pages or events, and a lot of people's lives are going to become living hell if they (just like i would've did) innocently go to the track, travel hours just to be turned back. it's inevitable in a certain percentage but we can try to notify as many people as we can because the later they officially share the news the more people won't see it before the weekend.
for more information please head to the official website of the Hungaroring but fair warning: the pop-up message notifying you of this is in Hungarian because anything even remotely close to the government equals incompetence in this country. i have notified the organizers of this and the fact that around 60 000 people don't know how to enter the track. hopefully they'll react in time.
thank you for reading and sharing this! 💚
