Different Italian anon, but the thing with Tuscan C is that it's pronounced like a very strong H sound, which is extra weird cuz the letter H makes no sound in Italian, normally. It sounds the way Spanish pronounce the J. We say it's "aspirato". So then people from there will say things like Hoha Hola (coca cola), and it's funny. It's also extremely contagious, I got family in Florence, you spend 3 days with them you start doing it too before you even realize.

I'm bored, let's talk jealous Minho
because you KNOW that idiot is slinking around Thomas like "Hey. You got any crushes? Is that boy hot to you? Do you like men? Do you think that man looks cute? What's your type. You like muscles?"
Thomas starts talking about how he sometimes misses Teresa, or how his love for Teresa and Brenda confuses him sometimes, etc. and Minho is vibrating with homosexuality
Thomas slips into his tent one night to tell him that he might have a crush on one of the Immunes, but he doesn't know what to do about his feelings
Minho gives him the biggest Kicked Puppy Look of the century
That moment when your crush is indeed gay, but is not gay for you
Start immediately trying to find this Immune. Needs to get a look at him. Whoever this man is better be the kindest, smartest, most sarcastic and yet also genuinely thoughtful and caring man to ever exist to deserve Thomas' secret admiration
Thomas laughs and promises Minho that his crush is all of that and more, but refuses to share who it really is
"Dammit, Minho, stop trying to know his name. I just need advice. What should I do?" "Find someone better."
Minho's soooo adamant about it too.
just dropping excuse left and right about why he doesn't like this crush of Thomas'.
"You've never even met him!" "Okay, but he could be a murderer. Why would I want to meet a murderer."
He gives hundreds of excuses and none of them are true. "He could be really mean. Have you ever even talked to him before? You have a dry sense of humor; what if he can't reciprocate? What if he hates coffee. What if he hates big sweaters. I bet your crush won't appreciate flowers."
Thomas keeps confiding in him like, "Mmmm, I wonder if my crush could-"
meanwhile all Minho wants to do is scream "I COULD DO IT BETTER"
He finally snaps one day. They're cuddling and Thomas sighs into his shoulder, and it sends a shiver down his spine, and he's just so fucking happy... And Minho remembers it's a limited amount of time before someone else gets these moments with Thomas. And what if Thomas won't have time for him anymore?
Thomas blinks in confusion as he's suddenly shoved off the bed
"Minho what's wrong?" "I dunno, ask your stupid crush."
Minho tries to pick a fight with him. He's better at anger and sarcasm than he is at talking it out. Maybe it's selfish of him, but he's drunk on anger and that helps suppress the guilt in him a little.
Thomas puts a quick stop to it though.
"My crush is you."
"So why don't you fucking- Your crush is what."
Thomas grins and laughs a little. Rubs the back of his neck. "Awkward confession, huh?"
Minho's on him and kissing his face before he can finish his sentence.

so recently, scar has gotten good at minecraft. like, really good. if you watch his old stuff, it doesn't take much to see that scar's strengths generally used to lie outside of the actual, run-around-without-dying-especially-on-a-pvp-server level of play. and that's fine, it wasn't his jig, and the people he's playing with really are very good and very experienced at this sort of play. so it never needed to be something that scar was good at because his fanbase mostly watched him for other reasons, so that just wasn't something he needed to be able to do.
but for a while now, especially noticeable over the life series, he's been rapidly improving at the sorts of particular skills that the life smp server values (and also certain skillsets involved in MCC, too). The water bucket clutches spring to mind, as well as the hot-guy stuff that make him such a lethal force with a bow. (It's honestly a shame that life smp doesn't have elytra -- he regularly one-shots people from the air on hermitcraft, and it's a fantastic bit.)
And it's just so good to see because like... he didn't have to go and do that! he went and practiced those skills, and got good at them, and then came and showed them off. and it was awesome, but also he made it so creative and entertaining, and he really didn't have to do any of it at all if he hadn't wanted to. people don't play on life smp because they're good at the technical elements of the game. more than anyone else, scar's particular shenanigans and the energy he brings to the server are what make him a great fit for the series. there are plenty of players on life smp who aren't great PVPers but who get by on politicking, or scheming, or storytelling, or just generally being a good time to be around, and each of them makes the smp tick and are valuable in their own way.
not to mention that life smp is made up of such a wonderful group of human beings that they'll do whatever it takes for you to fit in. to make your thing, and your particular energy and abilities, a part of of the series. to make it that you aren't hampered by your abilities and handicaps, whatever they may be. when skizz dies early on to some early misfortune in limited life, people are pretty clearly aware that he's one of the weaker players and it might impede his ability to have a full series. but don't worry, because half the server are tripping over themselves to give him their time and lives and totems and to swear undying oaths of fealty to protect him at all costs. grian, martyn, tango, literally every one of the ties - not to mention everyone who stood around and watched as skizz killed tango - all are working together and giving up things, valuable things, to make sure this one player gets to keep time on the server, and therefore time on the series, just because that's who they are. that's what the server is. friends, playing together.
i'm sure that's also why grain stuck with scar in the first series: to make it fair. they want everyone to have a good time. To be able to do their own thing, whatever that thing is you bring to the server, be it your insane PVP skills or trying to scam players by selling them magic crystals.
which is a long way of saying: scar was under no obligation whatsoever to get good at these player-skill-based elements of minecraft. but it's wonderful that he did! he really said, "look, i know you all think i'm a walking disaster, but i need you to know, it's not because i'm bad at the game. it's because i'm me." and then he went and got crazy good at archery (well, okay, crazy good at one very specific archery move, but also pretty damn good at shooting things overall! and at flying!) and he started parkouring around a bunch and now he's mastered waterbucket clutches (and what a fucking display he got to show off in double life, too) and just all around Got Good at the things that he wasn't previously that good at.
and the best thing was that he's still such an irreverent force of chaos that it hasn't even mattered. he's still just as lethal to himself through his own terrible decisions and random lack of awareness or foresight. or even just his own desire to fun, no matter what. the man really went into a hardcore server and said alright, i'm gonna build my base up high enough to definitely kill me, and also make it out of trap doors, and oh grians here, oops i'm sure that won't go wrong. and then he went and died to his elytra failing. that's just the most scar thing I've ever seen. you can't even fault him because grain also died on that server. only joel properly made 100 hours and there's no surprises there, joel is insanely good. so its no mark against scar that he died. but how he plays it, it's just so him.
and you wouldn't have it any other way because this is why we watch him. he's entertaining because he's totally unpredictable and also predictable and good and bad and competent and incompetent all at the same time. he will waterbucket-clutch INTO an impossible situation to save a bunch of useless pandas that were almost definitely going to die and he'll get away with it. and then also he will die by setting off a trap he's trying to very obviously lure others into. yes also he fell into a pit of zombies, what of it? it's just scar and his wacky hijinks. will he die? lets find out!
scar really said the only thing holding me back is me, and then proved it.

i would love to hear if any readers had theorized guessed events in books 1 - 4? part of the fun with ongoing works is theorizing!
Oh, yeah. Several people guessed that Mad-Eye was real well before it was "revealed," though I guess that's not technically an "event" so much as a canon divergence that becomes evident later. Several people called Draco becoming a duelist as early as Book 3. People will also often pull out little lines or flourishes of description and speculate on what it means for the character's future development, especially Draco's nascent flirtation with Dark magic, often with successful results. Readers also tend to be good at predicting where character dynamics are going. It's so satisfying for an author to read! It feels like a little gold star for planting a seed successfully.
People have guessed stuff that happens in future books, too, but I come from the old school of "if people can grasp and interpret where your story is going that means you are successfully laying groundwork and they are excited to think about it more, good job," There is a different school of thought, which is "readers have predicted something cool might happen, so I must take away Cool Thing, denying readers who predicted it the vindication of being right (which they wanted) and denying readers who didn't a coherent story to begin with (which they wanted). I am very smart."

Cooper isn't just named after Todd Howard, he's named after Gary Cooper, star of stage & screen. Most famously of the film High Noon, where he plays a character who must do the right thing, even if it destroys his life & marriage & the theme song goes "do not forsake me, oh my darling."
The song lyrics also say "Oh, to be torn twixt love and duty." Which is the core of Cooper and Barb's tragedy imo. Love is the death of duty and duty is the death of love (to paraphrase GRRM).
Cooper's feeling of moral duty toward others would lead him to just trying to have some good time on a ranch with Janey and Barb before the end. And Barb's love for her little girl means she'll burn down her sense of duty to others (even though she has a conscience, unlike Bud and Hank) to save her.
It's meant to be an impossible situation because they both feel love and duty. And neither route, in being forced to choose between the two, is a good one.

One very specific aspect of my experience being a mori girl in a very small town is that almost everyone stares at me.
It doesn't have to be for long, but some people I pass on the street either look at me out of (what I hope to be) genuinely curiosity, or like I just grew an extra pair of arms out of thin air, no in-between. Of course, some don't even acknowledge me or my existence, which is a little bit reassuring to me lmao
I bet this is a very common experience with mori folks (or any other j-fashion wearer), and I understand it to a certain extent. Mori can be quite "eccentric" to outsiders and people that don't know about it. For example, I have had my classmates tell me I look like a porcelain dool, or like I just came out of an old painting, or even that I crawled out of a fairytale book. While all of these observations are HUGE compliments to me, I just wish, as a deeply anxious person, that the staring wasn't as prominent tho 😭

yeah i'm a fan of the big popular blaseball players. the ones everyone knows. you know like that woman who was a very important person in her city, so much so that after she died, people campaigned to bring her back, but she returned with a debt and sent mike townsend to the shadow realm. oh yeah. also that one player with the tentacle hair who got alternated into being a really awful pitcher but a respectable batter, can't get enough of 'em.
anyway who's jaylen hotdogfingers,

ok i am ready to be spicy. so i made this post the other day (or yesterday what is time) without tags: (with some slight word changes)
"oh, I get it now. I think I understand a big reason why the "Mike is in love with Will but just doesn't want to admit it because he has internalized homophobia" is such a popular fandom opinion. Because then Mike's behavior becomes "obviously" romantic since this take assumes that he's aware of his behavior.
The take that he's "simply oblivious, simply doesn't know his feelings are actually romantic in nature", which -- in my opinion -- is much more heavily supported by the text, is... actually kind of scary to consider from a "wanting the ship to be canon" perspective. Because it's pretty much close to saying that his feelings are actually just platonic after all because that's what Mike thinks they are."
So, I have been thinking very hard on this for a while because I do think that this is why there is a sort of...friction? anxiety? in the general vibes of the fandom with regards to how byler can even work out in S5 after the events of S4.
In my opinion, I think that the second take -- Mike is oblivious -- actually lends itself well to the prospect of official, no ways around it endgame byler better than the first one does.
Because imagine it: Mike doesn't have to suffer through thinking he's wrong or he's a mistake or that he's not conforming to society's standards before coming to terms with his feelings. He just has to realize he's in love with his best friend, and that his best friend is in love with him. Mike is going to be the out, loud, and proud person of this relationship. He just has to figure his shit out.
First, what do we know about Mike so far and what can we take away from it? and why is it not "internalized homophobia"?
The biggest evidence for me against the "internalized homophobia" take is in S1 when Will was being called names by Troy and friend. Mike physically retaliated. He didn't look ashamed; he looked angry. Because they were insulting his missing best friend right in front of him. He was not internalizing these slurs. What he was doing was defending Will, who was the target of this hate. He prioritized defending Will, who wasn't even there, over cowing to displays of homophobia.
What about that "It's not my fault you don't like girls" line? Surely that means he's repressed and internalizing some shit? Yeah, and maybe he was just talking faster than his mind could think? Mike ends up clarifying this line and gives away the actual thing that's holding him back: heteronormative thinking. He talks about getting girlfriends as part of growing up as a young man. He says this like a neutral piece of information.
Let's talk about Mike's fears. So far, all of Mike’s insecurities are about being needed, being useful. It's not conforming to society. It's not fitting the mold. If he feared that then he'd have done what Lucas did and joined a popular group. But what did he do? He leaned into his DnD hobby and even started dressing differently, growing his hair out too. S4 Mike is not afraid to be an outcast.
What he does fear most is people leaving him behind. That's what he says about/to El, and that's practically what he says to Will as his excuse for being weird at the airport. The knock-off outfit, the flowers. That wasn't him trying to be straight so he wouldn't be outed as gay or in love with his best friend or whatever. That was his attempt at saving his relationship because he does love El and he doesn't want to lose her too. But they are incompatible. He doesn't realize he doesn't love her romantically but he does love her. That's why he's struggling. Because he can't differentiate between the two.
Lastly, he says to Will: "I feel like I lost you". Which means he felt like he already lost Will. Loving someone and losing them is something Mike never wants to happen again because it already happened once, twice, three times before with Will. Once when Will vanished, the second time when Will got possessed, and the third time when Will moved away. Mike's issue isn't about loving Will and fearing he's gay; it's about losing Will again.
The bolded part is the one I want to highlight because it's the most important piece of the puzzle imo. I am willing to bet that not wanting to lose Will again is going to be a huge part of Mike’s arc in S5 and is going to lead to him finally realizing his feelings. I honestly don't think Will's confession is going to figure into things at all until Mike's realized his feelings. Because the audience has to see Mike fall in love with Will before he figures out Will loves him back. The audience should not be made to think that Mike only falls in love with Will because Will's in love with him.
But how will Mike realize exactly the difference between his love for Will and his love for El if he's this goddamn oblivious? How will the process even start? El has to break up with him. No other way around it. El has to tell him straight up that she does not believe he is in love with her. Only then can Mike be free to even think about what romantic love actually means to him. I imagine this is where he and Nancy will actually get to talk about something substantial again, when he asks her what being in love means. and that will further get the ball rolling. And I believe however his arc plays out, we will get to see Mike and Will definitively end up together.
Because Mike loves Will so much. He isn't quite aware of what this love is yet but he has it in abundance. That is why he was the only one apart from Joyce who pushed for finding Will initially; that is why he is always the first to apologize when he and Will fight; that is why the best thing he's ever done was ask Will to be his friend; that is why he lashed out at Will at the roller rink; that is why he was so over the moon about Will's painting and Will's words in the van that he ironically didn't even see Will crying; that is why he only said his monologue after Will practically told him to.
Will is and continues to be Mike's most important person. Once Mike realizes he's in love with Will and the feeling is mutual? Homophobia can go suck a tail pipe because how dare this concept make the love of his life feel like a mistake? Mike is going to kiss Will as soon he realizes because he is not going to let anyone make him wait a minute longer before kissing the boy of his dreams.
sneaky edit: the underlined parts are links to other analyses i've done before regarding Mike's behavior. Analyses over the airport/roller rink scene, him being oblivious, his love for El, etc!

is anyone else a lil worried about kuya?
ok granted, kuya has had problemsTM for hundreds of years
but both AE and AO SR ended with kuya being like "huh how are you sure you wont lose what you care for"
and this time he's most likely princess kaguya (with all the bamboo and moon motifs), whose story usually ends with the princess leaving for the moon.
HUEY WHAT DID YOU DO TO KUYA TO MAKE HIM LIKE THIS.
or alternatively, Kuya did you do something to Huey that's making you extra cautious around Eiden while also putting him at arms length??? (my theory post)
obviously this entire event is a sidequest dream sequence that doesnt take place in the main plot, but stilllllll...

tbh i get why people dislike the idea of an until dawn movie for sure but like, on the flip side, it's not like it's gonna change the existence of the game. like do i have high hopes for it as a movie? not really LOL however i'm kinda excited for new content regardless. a movie isn't gonna suddenly make it like the original game itself doesn't exist. even the company that made the game hardly acknowledges that it exists, so idk y'all content is content at this point.
IDK may as well be cautiously excited for it and if nothing else, we can make fun of it. together. <3

you get to resurrect one of these Death Note characters so that they may go back to the past and "fix" it... you can try to tell them what you think they should do, but, oh no, the super convenient magical Death Note loophole that has allowed this resurrection to happen doesn't leave you with a lot of time to explain!! it's ultimately up to them!!

this 80s romcom lighting outside is hysterical oh my land
"wanna see the restaurant?"
"there are about 10 things in here that could kill you" 11, counting Syd
and among all this chaos he has one pertinent question:
"why didn't you call me?!" "i should have called you!"
this is going age like milk when syd sees who else is here!
syd was right last episode that carmy should have called her; carmy's right this episode that syd should have called him they're great at knowing they're a partnership. right now, they're not sure what that actually means, however, and it's causing massive friction, miscommunication, and stress
wow claire great time to introduce yourself there. like a bucket of cold water. she didn't really need to is the weird thing? nat was already talking to her, already greeted her? most people would have been like mm let me take a step back, maybe even come back later. but not claire! no she strides in like the elephant in the room and does a dance
oh ho. syd's face when claire says her name. that's a whole look
"this is my friend, claire" most honest he's been about this whole arrested development situationship
"sorry to interrupt, you all seem really busy" mm. no kidding.
"i'm sydney, it's really nice to meet you, i'm also sorry that you're here" SYD I LOVE YOU
she explains what she means and all but like. what a choice of dialogue, huh? and carmy's face. holy eff this is amazing
"interesting" oh richie. and nat's face when he says that -- the Wheels are Turning. direct comparison to his "ooooh" from last ep.
also i do love carmy's noticeably softer with Richie here. he knows richie really is just trying to help, and -- more than that -- knows that nothing else is gonna get done tonight
OH. INCHRESTING.
he tells everyone great job and to go home -- syd's rolled eyes here are a Pleasure -- and then when syd does that? carmy's reaction?
"what?" "i'm saying good night!"
very reminiscent of carmy's "what are you doing" when syd's quitting in S1E7. hmm i wonder why there's a bit of betrayal there.
this. this is beautiful. and he watches her go, too. beautiful direction, dialogue, etc etc
richie and nat are having similar problems to syd and richie last season. looking like we're gonna have a similar blow up. nat please keep the knives away from richie's ass, he's already a cheek down
the camera pan and hold on "carm/syd menu review" and then back to carmy and claire? i think that's the least subtle thing in the show, and we've seen richie's behavior + syd's temper almost literally bite him in the ass
"we're very fast" the subtlety is just...any more subtle and we'd have neon lights going. this is enjoyable because holy crap the telegraphing is Blatant
also this is some of the worst flirting i've ever seen. we're back to the total lack of chemistry and the two of them talking like 8th graders.
"i did that." "i know you did, and now you have to go" i'm still amazed that this is all text? none of this is implied? the writers are normally a little more subtle, so like...this is on purpose.
and the predictable kiss! you knew it was gonna happen, and they don't care. carmy going in with the same hand thing claire did earlier? either i can see the future or they're flashing the cliche, high-school nature of relationship with big flashing signs
and i can't see the future.
as a final note? i'm just gonna say. carmy is inexperienced, etc etc, yaddah yaddah. his actor on the other hand, is very much not. well done there sir.
