#I've done a thing :3 #been having the worst run of bedtimes and really feeling the effects (why do I do this? eh... multiple reasons but it is not helpful) #so in an attempt to have some fun with breaking the midnight to 1 am bedtime habit I made a new sideblog #it's called robins-bedtime-tracker dot tumblr dot com #anyway I plan to update that blog for a while w my bedtimes of the previous night. I don't particularly care if friends follow or view it #I just ask that you only follow it if you know me! #might turn into somewhat of a journal or something idk #and I don't know how long I'll keep updating it #but it exists! and you can track your local robin's bedtime if you want to! I just realised today that it’s been over 8 years since I published my first piece of reader insert fanfiction (not for DL but it laid the groundwork for what was to come) and it’s absolutely crazy to me. I don’t know that I’ve talked about it on this blog much (for it was not good by anyone’s standards) but I used to publish on Quotev and I made a couple of friends on there who really helped me when I was going through a hard time in real life (not that I think any of them necessarily realised how much :’) ). Sadly we all sort of drifted away from the site and lost contact but I still think about them sometimes and hope that wherever they are they’re doing well. 

I miss our little community on there too and the silly conversations we used to have, as while I don’t think Tumblr ever quite had the same vibe, I do think it’s grown a lot more impersonal over the years (or at least that’s certainly been my experience). 

Anyway I don’t know that there’s much of a point to this other than me reminiscing but if we’ve interacted at some point while I’ve been running this blog, or even if you just silently like a lot of my posts (because believe me, there are usernames I recognise even if we’ve never properly talked), then I’m grateful and I hope that you’re happy and doing well.

Rauuagadjsjdsk help I'm getting ready to post this week's chapter of my kylux fic (The Unforgivable) and idk if I should also post another chapter of my Codywan fic (The Last Lost Continent) or if I should wait on that one for now and post the next chunk all together. I have like 2.5 more chapters of my kylux fic all edited and ready to go for the next few weeks and the first half of act 3 done up in a rough draft, but while I have the next like 5 chapters of my codywan fic mapped out like that I only have up to chapter 7 actually written in my clean draft.

#my main concern is like foreshadowing and shit because i LOVE adding little contextual hints and stuff early on that help support the ending #and i think ive done pretty ok with that in both of my fics but im wary of posting stuff too early and missing an opportunity #to do something like that #i have the ending of my kylux fic all planned out and a really solid grip on the direction i want to take with it #i've just set the stage for it in the next few chaptersand now im working on how to execute it in a way that makes sense in universe #while also conveying the story i want to tell and keeping true to the themes and meanings I've implemented #my codywan fic on the other hand is also almost completely planned out and while i know how i want it to end #i still have a bit to figure out in terms of how i want it to play out #that is part of the fun to me tho i fuckin LOVE making stories and plotting them out and doing research for them aaaaa #ive been rewatching tcw and tbb for inspo lately #txt #rambles #kylux #codywan #fic writing shenanigans

A single email has disrupted my entire day

#dw it's actually a really good thing #the really exciting job I interviewed for a while back wants to know if I'm still interested #which is GREAT #but my moving plans have gotten all shuffled since I interviewed and are now super uncertain #so I no longer have an apartment set to move to in [CITY REDACTED] #so I'll have to rush to find one last minute if I do get hired #bc I can't afford to leave my current job and get a place in [CITY REDACTED] until I know whether I have a job there #and I don't know whether these people are actually gonna hire me #so I've just been staring at apartment listings filled with manic energy but unable to do anything about it #can't afford an apartment in [CITY] without a good full time job can't get a full time job unless I live in [CITY] #so I have no choice but to scramble to sign a lease right after if/when I get hired #and being unable to do anything about the situation is driving me crazy
