sidney & iah thots

because i am thinking of 'heart of glass' right now & kind of losing my mind about them. werewolf mom & wizard dad.

sidney and iah have a relationship similar to that of k//ate and anth//ony from bridg//erton, in the sense, that it started out that sidney thought that iah came from a place of privilege and she thought he was a stuck up prick. thing was, iah has always had an abundance of responsibilities to uphold and when she realizes this, it kind of makes her grow soft for him.

they both kind of balance each other out, in the sense that he helps her out and she helps him out. the only difference is, when she leaves to study law and he stays to take over his father's business, they don't go after each other; despite both of them having deep feelings for each other, because sidney thought iah should have gone after her, and iah assumed sidney would have told him how she felt if she had feelings for him.

it should also be noted that sidney gets pregnant with their daughter before she leaves to study law, but she does not go back to iah to tell him this. mostly because she does not want him to think she's going back just cause they have a kid together, and also because she just assumes that iah does not want children. but while studying law, she manages to handle pregnancy and studying and eventually parenthood well. however, she's terrified of giving birth so her best friend evie kind of has to stay by her side because the whole time she's scared she's going to pop.

she gives birth to their daughter 'chandra' eventually, and she's a damn good mother. however, she ends up getting attacked by a werewolf and eventually discovers that 'evie' her bestie is a vampire, because evie explains that she's going to become a werewolf a little after her attack. and evie explains to her that iah is a essentially an older wizard. which kind of gives sidney a headache, however, sidney's always been a fan of old stuff and the weird and unknown, so she just thinks it's all very cool, except for her werewolfism. and that's mostly because she's scared of turning her child into a werewolf.

when she goes to iah to see if he can put a protection spell on their child or something, iah tells her that children with magical parents are immune to werewolfism. so like, sidney just basically spilled the beans about him having a kid for nothing. however, iah isn't mad at her and wants to be apart of her and the kid's life. and he insists they stay with her because he says werewolves are pesky and they might want to come back for her.

they end up working together and being irritating dsfdsjfsdfsdf.

Sidney’s a gigantic woman and has always been a gigantic woman. A lot of people have been known to make jokes about how she’s probably “half-giantess” since she’s tall to the point where she’ll occasionally have to dunk down her head to get through certain doors. They’ll also make comments about how interesting the weather must be from where she stands. And though she thinks those comments are hilarious, she’s always thought it fucking sucked that she could rarely ever fit into any of her romantic partner’s clothing due to her height. 

At least, that was until she met her beloved Iah.

It was as though he was made for her, because the one night she spent over at his – not to bang, she always argues when people ask the story – but because he’d saved her life, and she didn’t have clothes of her own that weren’t muddy and bloody by the time he took her to his place to get cleaned up, it was apparent, that for once, a lover's clothes were her size. 

His clothes were dreadfully boring though, since they were all black, but they fit and she managed to make the fit look cute just by wearing them. And even he seemed to think so, because he’d made a comment about them. 

“You should wear black more – really brings out your eyes,” he had expressed, after he scarfed down the pancakes she’d made him in thanks. 

“I bet you’d look good in my clothes, too – you know?” she joked right back, and he just smiled a rare smile, and shook his head. 

“Not my style. But I don’t think I’d look bad.” They both looked at each other for a good while, and because she was so comfy around him, and because she was so scared of being murdered, she stayed around his place for a few weeks – wearing his weird clothes, until she had to go home to get more clothes; and by then, she’d been at his place for a few weeks, and he’d already given her a key. 

They'd ended up being great friends by that point. Ended up becoming more a little after that. And somehow more after that. And Sid was thankful because she'd never been with someone she'd ever been so comfortable around, or someone who wasn't using her for her gift.

"You know, the fact that you're not scared of me is a bit weird, you know?" she said to him one day. "Why's that?"

"That's because I'm scarier." he expresses. "I know what it's like."

She lets out an awkward laugh. "Uh-huh." And then she thinks about it. But since she's Sidney Ahmed, she doesn't think about it too hard. Because otherwise, she'd get a headache.

7. “Do you know who you are really working for?”

He waits for them for the fifth night in a row atop those spiraling stairs where no one should go. Even after his warnings and threats they continue to persist. But something about them changes ever so slightly. Only he knows. Only he sees.

They climb to his view now and it's evident that they are no longer them. Shoulders slump, steps sluggish, and their eyes are vague. He knows he can stop this. He has the power to. But it's up to him if he really wants to.

"Out of bed once again, are you?" His voice booms with a purpose.

They stumble slightly up the stairs, quickly gripping the railing beside them for support. Taking a deep breath to sort of calm their racing heart, they look up to the demon with anger etched across their face.

"What the hell is your problem, yelling like that?!"

"Nice of you to finally rejoin me. Are you aware of where you are right now?"

"What do you mean? I'm in my..." Finally taking a look at their surroundings, they found that they weren't in their room, but actually at the stairs that lead to the attic. "Lucifer, how did I get here?"

"There are dangers that lurk within these walls that are beyond us. Dangers that have lured you here night after night. I've promised to only do so much for you."

"What?"

"This body of yours is merely a puppet for another," he begins. "Your ignorance, your kindness, it'll be the reason why you fail to control yourself. I only vowed to keep your body in tact, not to keep you alive. That was what you were tasked to do."

Hearing those words made them feel sick in some way. They gripped the rail tighter. "You're lying. You have to be! Do you know who you are really working for?”

The demon smirked, leaning closer to their face before whispering to them. "I am well aware to whom my allegiance lies."

uhhh i explained a little bit about it in this ask if that’s any use, but i did a pretty rubbish job so let me re-summarise:

redacted asmr is a youtube channel run by this guy, erik - i would probably describe it as closer to voice acting than hardcore ASMR?? the basic premise is modern-with-magic, where “empowered” people have a whole magical society, but they can’t allow “unempowered” people to find out about it. there’s a pretty big selection of characters (listed in the linked ask above), and each video is focused around a character speaking to their “listener” - i.e. us! 

we follow them throughout their stories, most of which overlap with each other (e.g. the four DAMN boys - gavin, damien, lasko and huxley - all share one listener character, called “freelancer”), so you get this whole lovely connected universe. almost all of the storylines are romantically driven, like a sort of asmr x reader (well, i guess it would be listener rather than reader but ykwim).

i thoroughly thoroughly recommend it - although it is very easy to get sucked in, so maybe wait until post-thesis to dip your toes in...? everyone in the tag is genuinely so lovely, and the vibes are IMMACULATE 🤩🤩🤩
