Since I’m officially done with the main guides to Stray Kids, I figured I’d do a couple fun guides, just for, well, fun. I’m done with the dynamics, but I didn’t want to stop making these, lmao. So, I thought it would be interesting to kind of explain the boys music, kind of like a summary of all the music they’ve put out. Not each song individually, that may be too much. But maybe the albums/mini albums/ EPs, etc.
This post is going to skip around just a bit, it’s why I made sure to put the exact dates in the descriptions, as I wouldn’t be going in exact order. This post contains their 2 full length albums, Go Live and Noeasy, as well as their reissue In Life.
(Most of the info was taken from Wikipedia, or from my own listen of the album. I’ve gotten bits and pieces from other areas, but yea. If I got something wrong, or missed something important, please let me know!)
Go Live (2020)
released in June 2020.
the group’s first official full length studio album
contains 14 songs: Go Live; God’s Menu; Easy; Pacemaker; Airplane; Another Day; Phobia; Blueprint; Ta; Haven; Top; Slump; Mixtape: Gone Days; and Mixtape: On Track.
has 5 official music videos, along with a special video.
ta doesn’t have an official music video, but it does have a dance practice, so i linked that. i highly recommend it, as they look like they’re having so much fun doing it.
top is interesting, as that song, along with slump, were made for an anime, and they were both recorded in korean, japanese, and english. the korean version of top doesn’t have an official music video, it has an unveil, however, it’s basically the whole song? so more of a performance video.
mixtape: on track is part of a trilogy, kind of. at least, from what i’ve seen from other stays. it starts with on track, goes into b me (the unveil, since there was never a music video for that one), and that goes into mixtape: oh.
the themes on this one are a little more all over the place, just because it is a full length album and there is variety here. there is also the first major incidence of them starting to push back on their haters and harsh critics (a major theme in Noeasy). they’ve touched on it before, but now, they’re being way more up front about it.
go live is just another starter song. it’s also just a shorter version of the tortoise and the hare, a song that appears in full in the reissue.
my personal favorite: definitely a tough one, this album has so many fantastic songs on it. overall favorite for me is probably ‘easy’. a song that i think stands out the most is probably ‘God’s Menu’. and a song that has the most emotional punch, again in my opinion, is ‘Another Day’. I actually cried the first time I heard it.
Wins - No music show wins, but they did win something call the ‘Main Award’ at the Seoul Music Awards

In Life (2020)
released in September of 2020.
is a reissue of Go Live, but minus a handful of songs and with 8 new ones.
includes the following songs from Go Live: God’s Menu; Easy; Pacemaker; Airplane; Another Day; Phobia; Blueprint; Ta; Haven
The new tracks are: The Tortoise and the Hare; Back Door; B Me; Any; Ex; We Go; Wow; and My Universe
has 3 new music videos, but there was an unveil for B Me.
the tortoise and the hare doesn’t have a music video, however, go live had an unveil track, and since thats just a shorter version of this one, i linked that.
the new songs includes a variety of themes again. this one also contains three unit tracks, each one sung by a different ‘racha.
my personal favorite: yet another difficult choice. all 8 new tracks are standouts in their own right. I genuinely don’t think I could pick a favorite. I will say out of the unit tracks; Wow is my personal favorite. But honestly, every single one of these songs is A+
Wins - 2 music shows wins for back door, one on Show Champion and one on M Countdown.

*i’m a newer stay, i only became a fan this year. but based on what wikipedia is saying, and based on bits and pieces i’ve seen since becoming a fan, it seems like their go live/in life eras were when stray kids really started to get big. it’s not that they didn’t have a loyal fanbase before this, but i think this album and this reissue seemed to have brought in so many more fans, and i’m glad that it did. it’s led to them being with some of the top idols in the industry and they deserve it.
Noeasy (2021)
released on August 23rd, 2021.
includes the following songs: Cheese; Thunderous; Domino; Ssick; The View; Sorry I Love You; Silent Cry; Secret Secret; Star Lost; Red Lights; Surfin’; Gone Away; Wolfgang; and Mixtape: Oh
has 9 music videos. however, they performed wolfgang on kingdom. HOWEVER. i won’t be linking that performance, as there is no hyunjin. instead, i linked the other time they performed it, as 8 instead of 7. as wonderful as the original performance is (and i do recommend checking it out), this song and performance work so much better with all 8.
domino is another one that was given an unveil, but no music video, which a lot of fans hate, because the song and the unveil are so damn good. so i linked it.
mixtape: oh is a bit unique, as it was actually released in june of 2021, along with the music video. from what i can tell, it’s release was a bit of a surprise, coming right after kingdom ended, and featured hyunjin back with the group after his hiatus. stays have a great love and fondness for this one, because of the return of hyunjin and how much so many of them were happy to have him back. (in fact, the most replayed part in the video is hyunjin’s appearance)
once again, because it’s a full album, there’s a lot of themes at play, but the main one was clearly showing up their haters and harsh critics who call their music ‘noisy’, hence the title ‘Noeasy’ which is a play on the word noisy.
this one has 3 unit songs again, however the units are more random. red lights is by hyunjin and bang chan, surfin’ is by lee know, changbin, and felix, and gone away is by han, seungmin, and i.n. each one of these is very different from the other, they all give off completely different vibes.
my personal favorite from this album is another tough one, lmao. there’s so many good songs here. for overall look and feel and sound, i’ll go with thunderous, because it’s my favorite music video from them. also domino just hits so good. and the unit songs are stand outs for sure. each one has a different feel and mood and i highly recommend them.
This album was nominated for a few different awards, but the only win was for Best Album (Bonsang) at the Golden Disc Awards.
For music show awards, Thunderous took home 6 awards: 2 on Show Champion, 2 on M Countdown, 1 on Inkigayo, and 1 on Music Bank.

So I've read a majority of the cass review now, and it definitely feels... weird? But that also could be that I'm not in research circles and the way in which things were expressed is simply a culture difference. However, I did find a lot of odd conclusions that seemed contradictory and a few items they used as a reference were generally extremely poor quality, such as the anonymous social-media shared survey on detransitioning. It felt like they were more critical of studies that produced pro-trans studies than of those that produced findings that agreed with their conclusions, but this may have been my own biases, so it's hard to say. It does repeatedly seem to associate that being trans is associated with mental health issues without much contextual references to the fact that living the trans experience being one that can cause those issues, and while it mentioned that dutch reports showed a lower incidence of comorbidities, it entirely failed to mention the culture differences that would result in trans youth in a more accepting area having fewer mental health issues, which... Idk, that feels worth mentioning in a section devoted to discussing the occurrence of gender dysphoria in youth and its high relation to mental health issues. It claimed that trans youth have a normal suicide rate 'when accounting for comorbidities," but only lightly discusses the source of those in relation to being trans. It also seemed weirdly highly focused on trans men, expressing over and over about how their numbers are increasing in extremely high numbers, but when information is compared to trans women, the numbers are relatively equal, so it's more about the amount of recent trans men than about the total numbers which feels weird. In some ways it does encourage better practices going forward, it's not wrong in the idea that transition is a really rough period for people, and mental health should be a standard practice of care alongside it, but it states that the mental health issues should be addressed prior to receiving any care, which feels particularly weird given its omission to the possible reasons for dutch comorbidities being so much lower as that has genuinely large implications for the rest of the fucking paper. It did seem weirdly obsessed with the ability of trans men to give birth, I'm not sure what's up with that.
Also learned that according to a study in 2011, autism made me gay, and they also had a chart about how social media causes depression, which I'll share below because it seems so simplistic as to be funny.
Do understand that this isn't my field, while I'm somewhat knowledgeable on the topic, I wouldn't take my interpretations as fact because I just do not have the experience to fully interpret the tone and content of this report. If you know anyone who does, I'd love to hear their take on it.
In trying to understand this report originally I went to news sources, and that was a fucking mistake, but I did get to hear some politician fear mongering about "Nearly 5000 trans youth this year!" (13-18) so I spent a few seconds to look up the total UK population 13-18, and it's ~3.65m, making this about .1% of the youth population in the UK. For context, on any given night, roughly 3500 UK youth experience unaccompanied homelessness.

the black cat is the villain? could you please elaborate? I'm asking out of genuine curiosity, I haven't heard this before.

okso. i mean all of this is layed out very clear in the novel/manga, but if youre less familiar with it then i get why it might sound a little odd.
key things to remember though is that the black cat made a deal with ellen when she was only seven years old. not only that, ellen was literally on the verge of death at that point and was not told anything about becoming a witch or such at the point when she made the deal - literally all she was told was that she would be given like, shelter. to not die. 'magic' is mentioned offhandedly to just say "uhhhhhhhhhhh magic magic gives you House" without explaining anything about it
mind you, this does happen after ellen kills her parents - but, i mean, not to excuse killing your parents (dont do that), but ellen is a very traumatized and neglected child and she does express genuine remorse and guilt after killing them. and maybe im just an ellen apologist but i find it really hard to think that makes her flatout evil/irredeemable at this point.
the "XXXX" thing in the game/manga where the word 'kill' is blacked out with X's might obviously just be a stylistic thing. but based on the first way its used in the manga, i choose to interpret it as a sign of ellens own denial. shes a guilty child who doesnt really want to accept guilt. she becomes much more comfortable using the word 'kill' later and accepting the grim reality of what she does, but at the start, ellen doesnt want to consider herself a killer.
anyway. back to the black cat.
the whole first part of the manga/novel shows ellens genuine childlike innocence and wonder. within the first chapters shes really just a sweet girl excited to learn things and play.
and a major thing that makes the black cat an ASSHOLE is that he purposefully leaves out many details of the situation until ellen is in a position of desparation and despair. the black cat doesnt directly break ellens spirit at any point himself, but he sure as hell leads her to despair and then manipulates and emotionally abuses her. and his manipulation works. if the black cat said to ellen "hey kill ur friend for the house to eat cuz youre unlovable scum" when ellen was having fun with her new friend, ellen would probably be alot more reluctant. her new friend loves her, after all. its the love shes been seeking.
at no point does ellen say this friendship is the love shes been seeking, but...its quite obvious, isnt it? the genuine friendship she had with this little boy wasnt an act or anything. ellen genuinely felt loved and her friendship with this boy alleviated her loneliness.
but the black cat didnt explain to ellen, a SEVEN YEAR OLD CHILD who only JUST LEARNED HOW TO READ, the reason why she cant leave the house. and he didnt explain this to her because he wanted to set her up to fall into the trap where she would confront despair and be much more willing to kill out of desparation. you can say "oh ellen was told she cant leave the house, she did it of her own choice so even if she didnt know what would happen its her fault" but shes a dumb kid who made a mistake. a mistake that she was set up to make, reopened her emotional wounds and was used to manipulate her
the black cat doesnt ever like, literally lie to her. but its deception and lies by omission and it is very, very intentional. its with the goal of breaking this damaged child down more and more to push her to the brink again by intentionally triggering her insecurities and fears and exploiting the fact she killed once before as a way to desensitize her to it
its only after all this "evil cat emotionally torments a child and tells her shes unlovable scum who nobody will ever care about because her body makes her worthless and subhuman" thing, that the black cat actually offers her this:
note that its phrased as a cure and not 'a body switching spell'. she doesnt actually learn that its a body switching spell until just before meeting viola.
the first person ellen kills for the house is the little boy she befriended. the manga doesnt do a good job at conveying ellens feelings here so these are is excerpts from the novel. it genuinely hurts her. it hurts her to kill her first friend. but the fear of never being loved, living forever in a body doomed to rot away without any care or compassion, hurts her more. and at this point, after everything shes gone through and the emotional manipulation of the black cat, shes convinced that she is just fundamentally unlovable and this will never, ever change. she even percieves the boys apology at first as being 'fake'- that is, she knows he would feel no sympathy or friendship for her knowing how sick she really is.
..all this is to say.
while ellen and viola were born in different eras, as ellen lived for hundreds of years as a witch, i genuinely think that if somehow they could have met earlier, ellen would have been able to see that violas friendship was the love she was after. that viola wasnt trying to decieve or use her, and that she didnt need to hurt viola to be loved. if they had somehow met before all this, ellen wouldve accepted viola as like her big sister. someone who didnt run from her and accepted her despite her illness.
but after all the emotional manipulation and abuse shes put through by the black cat for his own goals, ellen sees pretty much nobody as being on her side and she becomes devoted only to the goal of having a healthy body. she cannot concieve of violas love for her being real, because she believes it is simply impossible for anyone to love her as she is.
and the black cats monologue at the end of the kindle edition also shows the black cats bizzare behaviour towards ellen and how he knew he was manipulating her and making her dependent on him. (side note, WHY is the black cat also supposedly a young boy???? where the hell are the adults in this setting??????)
id say that the witchs house is fundamentally a story about the cycles of abuse. ellen certainly isnt a good person, but the character who causes most of the events and tragedies to occurr is really the black cat, with ellen moreso acting as a sort of puppet. ellen best girl ellen best witch ellen did nothing wrong (<- THATS A LIE)

Gaiman has said that he isn't using traditional angelology, so that doesn't help us with Aziraphale, who as a Principality in the GO-verse is basically upper middle management. The Bible in GO is not divinely inspired and frequently gets things wrong, like assuming that the flood is global rather than local, or has major omissions, like the whole flaming sword business (except in that one misprint Bible...). So that doesn't help us with Aziraphale's rank, either, because you can just handwave the cherub with a flaming sword as yet another mistake, and there's nothing in either text or series to suggest that he was punished. I know fans think that Aziraphale doesn't use his title in the novel because the "joking" must be about his demotion, but it's more likely a reference to the overlapping terminology in the translation of Ephesians 6:12 ("For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places"). Poor Aziraphale must be tired of other angels teasing him about being one of the world's forces for evil!
Crowley is a "wait and see" sort of problem, methinks. Gaiman has said that the novel is canon for the series except where directly contradicted, and novel!Crowley is a nobody, "not even a district councillor" as far as his demonic rank is concerned. And both versions of Crowley are underpowered compared to Hastur and Ligur, hence the holy water ambush. But I guess we'll find out more in season two?

lost in translation (ch 9)
just a running list of things i noted down for the translation of chapter 9, while watching the chn and eng versions side-by-side. there’s nothing as major as in my other “lost in translation” posts, but a still few translation errors/omissions and cultural notes that i wanted to write down
disclaimer: i am not fluent in chinese, so keep in mind that there will be mistakes. feel free to let me know if you have questions, concerns, or comments.
overall: like i said above, nothing stands out as a major accuracy error that i feel has seriously impacted characterization or plot understanding (well, maybe one for characterization). saw multiple instances of subject-verb agreement issues and some clunky sentences
any translations below the game screenshots are my own translation of the chinese text, based on the official translation but with edits (most important difference bolded).

...But to the people who don’t know the truth, doesn’t reporting it like this equate to washing themselves of any connection?
technically the translation can be correct, but i think it’s easy to (mis)interpret it as a “clear line” connecting Heirson and NXX, rather than separating them. it’s definitely how i read it at first, though later lines (example below) make it clear what the meaning should be

i guess this could come down to interpretation of the original, but i feel like the original sentence was more focused on pointing out the hospital’s issues, while the translation seems to be toning it down.

The messages in the suicide notes are like a smokescreen deliberately set up by a guilty person to help conceal what they’ve done.
Sometimes this smokescreen is a lie, and sometimes it is a secret.
i’m not sure why they changed the analogy to a more direct explanation.

Didn’t I tell you? When asking for a favor, you should use “gege” [哥哥, literally “older brother”].
so here’s the one requiring a cultural note: there are a variety of ways and terms for addressing people in chinese, often based on things like the person’s job or their relation to you. the little girl has been calling jerome “shushu” (叔叔) which literally means “uncle”, but is also the way for a child to address a man who is a generation above them.
jerome is (lightheartedly) telling her to call him “gege” instead, which is the form of address for a boy/man older than you but still in your generation. so he still wants to be seen as a younger person, and he’s telling the girl to flatter him by saying he’s young so he’ll be more willing to grant her favor. again, this feels cute and joking to me, especially since he braids her hair anyway.
and then she continues to call jerome “shushu” anyway, while marius gets a “gege” in the same sentence xD (it all gets translated as forms of “mister” in English)
and MC gets called “jiejie” (”older sister”, female equivalent of “gege”). translated as “lady” in English.

Marius immediately warns him with pretend-sternness.
English translation doesn’t seem to have “故作” in its translation, which means “to pretend/feign.”
“Pax Pharmaceutical is caught in this wave of doubt. CEO Marius von Hagen was attacked by an unidentified person during a banquet...”
even though marius does get questioned in this chapter, i... don’t think this part of the text said that Marius is under suspicion? more that pax is also impacted by the confidence crisis in the pharmacy industry.

Artem glares at the owner of the voice and plucks back his tie, then his face instantly darkens further.
some of the phrases of the sentence don’t have the subject explicitly stated, but i think it should be artem throughout
also a cultural note: “Do you believe in light?” is an online meme referring to the well-known children’s tv show Ultraman. but basically, this is probably intended as Artem having no idea what new meme the young interns are referencing, rather than a strangely philosophical question.

“Live on and try [it?]” (tiramisiyu’s translation, i pretty much would translate it the same way)
might be splitting hairs, since if the note is attached to the bottle, using the powder is implied; but the chinese message can be interpreted as explicitly indicating to try the powder. hm, i guess the more i think about it, the more that there’s enough room for interpretation in both versions that maybe this doesn’t need to be in the list.

What’s an NFT?
Lately, you may be thinking, what exactly is an NFT?
I think I’ve figured it out after literally hours of reading. So let me share that knowledge with you. You might end up being a crypto millionaire after all.
Let’s start with the fundamentals:
NFT stands for Non- Fungible -Token.
Still nothing? Well, I can’t blame you for that! “Non-fungible” signifies that it is one-of-a-kind and cannot be substituted with anything else. A bitcoin, for example, is fungible — swap one for another and you’ll get precisely an identical item, if Bitcoin confused you just think of dollar, basically, it’s a fungible item, you can trade it, swap it but you’ll still get the same item after all. On the other hand, a one-of-a-kind trade card is non-fungible. You’d get something altogether different if you swapped it for a different card.
Most NFTs are, part of the blockchain, especially the Ethereum blockchain, as most of them are minted there. Ethereum, like Bitcoin or Solana, is a cryptocurrency, but its blockchain also enables these NFTs, which hold additional information that allows them to function differently from, say, an ETH coin. It should be noted that other blockchains can implement their own forms of NFTs. Like Solana, which at the moment is number 2 in most minted NFT’s.
But what exactly is an NFT? An NFT can be literally anything, such as a collage of small photographs, a space kitten with a rainbow trail, a JPEG of various variations of apes, a music song, or even a virtual place in the metaverse. The possibilities for what an NFT can be are nearly limitless.
Now that you know more about NFTs, you must be wondering where you can buy those fancy items of digital art. In a marketplace, not the one on Facebook, you won’t find anything there. Just like there is a marketplace where physical art is traded, like paintings or jewelry, in the same way, there is a marketplace where you can buy an NFT. Opensea is the world’s first and largest NFT marketplace at the moment.
Why is the value of NFTs so high?
Art can have countless copies, but only one original work. That is what makes the original painting valuable and irreplaceable. Let me give you another analogy. If you come into possession of the “Mona Lisa” but want to ensure that it is the original and not a copy, you will hire an expert to do his work and verify that the painting is, in fact, the original.If you want to make sure that the painting is the original and not a copy, you will hire an expert to do the work and verify that the painting is indeed the original. Well, with NFTs, that is not necessary because from the moment an NFT gets minted on the blockchain, the NFT will have a unique cryptographic id that will make it unique, and since the blockchain is a “shared ledger,” let’s say that everyone can have a look, that means that anyone and from anywhere can instantly verify the validity and uniqueness of the digital art.
How do you sell NFTs?
Essentially, you’ll post your work to a marketplace and then follow the procedures to convert it into an NFT. You will be able to offer specifications such as a task description and a proposed cost. The majority of NFTs are acquired using Ethereum. However, they may also be purchased with other ERC-20 tokens, but that is something that we will discuss in another article.
How do you make an NFT?
An NFT can be created by anyone, literally anyone. All you need is a digital wallet like Metamask or Trust wallet, a small amount of Ethereum, and access to an NFT marketplace where you can upload and convert your work into an NFT or crypto art. Isn’t it simple?
