Life and death are strange things. In this life, I don't want to regrets the things I did not do. So I am here, at the LDS Hospital, sitting with my father who is still intubated, though conscious and alert. I'm one of the kids doing the least out of the kids doing things at all, and I have no idea what I'm even doing. Tonight the nurse told me that my dad must be a great guy because all his kids she's met have been such kind and amazing people. I just laughed because I know better. I nodded and looked her, "Well, we all love each other very much." Is all I could really say to her. I could muster the energy to tell her that the man below us in the hospital bed, the man she complimented so sweetly, was one mean, abusive, and scarey son of a bitch father. It's the kids who are amazing, wonderful, great human beings. It's no reflection of him as a person, but of my amazing siblings, and who THEY are as people. Maybe it's because he was so mean that they are soft hearted and kind. Don't get me wrong, my siblings are tough as nails! They'll take on the world with both hands tired behind their backs, and head butt that bastard in the face! But in s when a kind heart and a dedicated soul is needed, there they are as well. When sleep takes a back seat to emergency situations, you best believe the oldest Watters kids are first on the scene. I adore my siblings so much, and I'm SO proud to be their little sister. ♡♡ So, here I sit with a man I barely know. Not knowing what to say or do, but knowing he's just as flabbergasted that I'm here as I am. Even more so. But that I come from a long line of amazing humans. Even if he's not one. He created them, and for that I'm thankful. So for him I'm thankful.
