After a brief hiatus from fic recs, we are BACK!

To make up for what we've missed, this week we are going to be focusing on fic recs from the first SIX EPISODES of season 3:

The first is a wonderful Push coda filled with yearning and love and sweetness and making up and MAKING UP 😏, while the second is a truly delightful fic occurring in the aftermath of TK's coma where, as Shannon so aptly puts it in the summary "TK and Carlos boink so hard that TK passes out." Isn't It Something though.............. I've always considered it a deliberate irony that he's always had his status as Arakawa's "only" son to fall back on (as Masato, anyway), and it was even his Get Out Of Jail Free card, but it was ultimately not the whole truth and they all more or less knew it. And there's also something there about the resources and support that should've "rightfully" been Ichiban's too, but that he was denied because Jo refused to tell the truth.

I can't quite articulate it right now but I wouldn't say you were jumping the gun in taking note of it! I do think it's supposed to be of note, to throw people off the scent on the first playthrough and raise eyebrows on subsequent playthroughs.

Also I'm 20 minutes into First Penguin (I started like, this time yesterday) and literally so evil to make Tsutsumi sing the high note when they were harmonizing their names 😭😭😭 he hates singing because he doesn't think he sounds good so it's incredibly rare for him to sing even when he's cast in musicals... LOVE THE PROTAG THOUGH. QUEEN

it really is just some Butterly Effect shit its genuinely bonkers that because arakawa opened the wrong locker, All Of This happened. question as old as time What Would've Happened If He Opened The Right One but god What If right..

you've probably finished the ep at this point since i take nine years to respond to things BUT AW JLKAJ THAT'S SO UNFORTUNATE FOR HIM NOOOO. some thoughts about time and march days in stranger things s4 vol. 1 - long post

firstly,

i still think the date on the camera being will’s birthday was on purpose

(the camera with the date appeared twice for like 3 seconds, i doubt they would miss that importance of that day, and left it on display for this long without knowing, even after editing).

and even if duffer brothers mentioned ‘apologizing’ for ‘forgetting’ it was will’s birthday, that could simply be they’re not able to tell more about it. i feel it could be something about this day/event appearing again the vol 2.

hopefully with flashbacks why everyone (read: mostly mike) was acting weird™ on that day. 👀

(will we get more parallels about how this was a special day for will vs a special day for el?)

if i remember correctly from rewatching the series, i can’t recall anyone else’s birthday was being brought up as this much important reminder to the audience, with the whole speech joyce gave to will in s2, and they would suddenly ‘forgot’ about it now.

(this is mostly my take on it, bc i’ve seen too many posts being upset about it, and taking duffer brothers words as guarantee they forgot, when technically the whole season isn’t out yet, and it could be potential spoiler so something later on. so its best not to take the interviews/hype too seriously.)

secondly,

it’s interesting how much this season speaks about time. going back in time, being stuck in time, etc. the clock that appears as the vision of vecna’s victims, the date upside down is stuck on being the day will went missing (6th of november, 1983), and so on.

as well as El opening the 1st episode with voiceover of the letter to mike, mentioning how time flies, and how its funny how it slows down or speeds down, depending on emotions.

so we know this show is happening the week around 21march

another thing i noticed about a different march day, was in the newspapers about the creel house - a part that robin didnt read out loud (and i cant remember if anyone else said it out loud later in the show):

and the newspaper being published on 26th of march 1959

which coincidentally is the week s4 is taking place in march.

which made me wonder about vecna and some villain type of characteristics,

Vecna (it’s in 5e, but still could be relatable to the story), god of evil secrets, neutral evil, knowledge, hand with eye in the palm.

and while just looking about game structure and story line (about villains), this caught my attention

- anniversary of important event (the creel house tragedy)

- athletic event (the basketball game - it all began on that night (while hellfire club were playing dnd about defeating vecna - and the 1st out of 2 last dice rolls - the one that failed - fell on number 11 👀 (the second roll being nat20, a critical hit... 👀) )

- birthday of an important NPC - could be will 👀 👀

it could be a series of events leading up to something big, similar to 25th march, just like in the past? - repeating of history, sort o thing. turning back the clock.

i dont know exactly where im going with this time theory/thoughts, but im curious if i will be pleasantly surprised if something like this connects in s4 vol. 2 or not.

either way, what im trying to say - Will is still very much important to the upside down plot, at least, i choose to hope its true. even though it feels like hes still being sidelined, i hope we will get to see him being the main focus again, and i cant wait to see how its all gonna go down once hes in hawkins again.

retching. i feel like i need a rewatch of the whole series of f&c in one go to fully cement my opinion without the weeks worth of 'over' hype and theorizing for the finale eps but at the same time the ending soured me so much do i. do i want to? but also i dont /want/ to dislike this thihng i enjoyed so dearly up to this point. man its so sad. a part of me knew that there's no way the finale could satisfyingly wrap things up in two eps but given how the series had gone on so far, 1/2

i gladly accept my inbox’s position as “support group for people frustrated and unsatisfied with the f&c finale”

Yeah like………. i could tell they were struggling a Little with pacing and being able to fit all the important parts of the story in. ep7 especially like, was a great episode but also some of the plot beats felt like they weren’t built up to properly, or they didn’t linger long Enough on important stuff - like, we only dedicate 2 seconds to the thing abt the star beinf like that bc shes a marceline who didnt have simon…… But i could forgive all that, bc they had a LOT of stuff to fit just into that one episode, and they still hit all the beats they needed to and told a sensible story.

So I thought….. even if they don’t have time to execute the ending perfectly, they can still get their idea across and have everything happen that needs to!

But then they decided to. Like. To some extent tell the wrong story. And DEFINITELY told it badly. There’s good things about the finale episodes, and some of the plot points are What Should Have Happened, but there’s …. just……… Fundamentally they failed to continue telling the same story they had been telling the entire show!!!!!!!!! fionna and cake writers sweeping the subject of simons mental health off the table at the last second to tell a story exclusively about 1 specific aspect of his relationship w betty as if the Life Lesson He’s Learning here has aaaaaaany fucking thing to do with what his story has been about SO far in the series

uuuuuggghhhhh yeah the ending just. soured the whole fucking thing for me. at the same time i still love the first 8 episodes theyre great but theyre better if you don’t know that THAT was what theyre building to. emotionally i dont want to rewatch eps 9&10 in full ever bc the concept of them makes me so upset but also it would be good to revisit the series and look at it from the perspective of knowing what they’re intending to do. i still definitely will never agree with most of the things they did. but i can at least look at it more analytically when im not seeing it for the very first time and dont know where its going. not yet though im still pissed LMAO

pretending this ask isnt 6 days old (and the other ones i need to answer aren't like......weeks and weeks old bc ive been Slacking) but i've already touched on the first "devi" i think we're going to get here and god you know what im thinking about now??? the first david. because they've shown us since season 1 that ben doesn't ever return to david unless he's trying to like, reconcile?? with devi i guess.

like take this moment from 1x06:

this is post-nuking and he just!!! doesn't know what he did wrong!!!! and he wants things to go back to how they were before she nuked him!!! so he slips the david in there to try to go back to what they were just on the precipice of in 1x05.

and then in 2x05:

the first david of season 2!!!!! god i just. i have so many conflicting emotions about season 2 but this moment. this is one of those things that i didn't notice on my first watch, or even my second rewatch - because "david" just flows so naturally here. but then i started my little cataloging series and i just. the significance of the first david coming in at a moment where they're just starting to go back to - not normal, because they never really had a normal, i don't think, but going back to something other than pained looks and petty remarks in front of classmates and spitting "so no, we're not friends." and like - they still aren't friends here, not really, but it's a step - one that ben makes, bravely.

and of course we don't really get that in season 3, because they're only very briefly on bad terms due to the whole des situation, but like.....idk, i know this isn't enough for a pattern just yet, but it's so intentional, and so i'm thinking we'll get something similar in season 4 - i don't have enough information to exactly narrow down how the first "david" is going to go, but episode 5 is always always always benvi heavy (heist, relay, coffee house) so i have no doubt that 4x05 is going to be much the same. if the first "david" isn't at the end of 4x05, then it will be at the beginning of 4x06 - if i'm wrong i'll eat my words i guess but like. based on past seasons it just makes sense!!!!

In addition to the what other fandoms are you in question:

The obvious current ones: TMNT, Rick & Morty, and Star Trek.

I enjoy the Guilty Gear games. The first one was released on the PSOne, I think? We had that game actually. The lore is a bit all over the place, but it has its really good moments. I enjoy the characters a lot. I am in fact brain rotting since last year about adding a muse from Guilty Gear to my roster on Muses-INN but thankfully I can't really make up my mind on which character ever, so it didn't happen. Yet.

I am also contemplating dipping into GranBlue again after its latest releases. I never played the actual game tho because I was late on that train, but I picked up GranBlue Versus and the first Manga, a while ago. The new online game is apparently very good. It's not a series I see myself gushing about so much that I want to add a muse to my roster from there tho.

Somewhat obvious too but I still wanna add it; Star Ocean. (Mostly Second Story tho). It's also a pretty old series that I played for HOURS when I was younger. There's an Anime for it and Manga as well. But both don't go past the first half of the game sadly. I'd love a remake of the Anime that goes until the end of the game tbh. I also should add, I really enjoyed Star Ocean 1 & 2 and the spin-offs for the second, but I'm not really feeling the games after these. I just don't like the characters as much?

There are actually plenty of old game and series that I enjoyed in my youth and childhood that I still like but just didn't get around to rewatching or generally investing myself in. Or just can't think of right now.

lemme break it down without yelling

all the ships in canon happen in this universe as well. all the characters still have their same personalities, and therefore (presumably) would still have the same feelings as they do in canon.

and here, jorn says he plays the bad guy and pressures the music club so that theyre serious and then win hot wave and then can date.

what this means is, in canon, pat still has his isaan accent. pat still does the little “oh” thing. jorn still plays the bad guy and pressures them a lot.

the only differences: 1. pat has glasses, which honestly just feels like more reason for jorn to like phat (”the way his glasses frame his face and make his big round eyes look slightly larger”). 2. pat is constantly suggesting that they disband. 3. jorn seems to want the band to stop being a thing, rather than pressuring them to do better and practice harder, but that’s presumably because in the canon universe, its not really common knowledge that the band cant date until after hot wave, whereas in this universe the characters seem to know without needing to find out from an external source (which is probably for plot convenience for time’s sake, but shut up it works), so, chances are in canon jorn just isnt aware that there are other options and thinks they have to leave the band in order to date. 4. definitely other things i just cant think of them rn

what im tryna say here is all the evidence points towards patjorn being possible in canon as well as this universe. i will break this down further in a future post but for now i need to get on with this commentary

jeez i was expecting to dislike these episodes and im ending up enjoying it as much, if not more, than the actual series. how did this happen.

Amphibia Week: DAY 1 (Favorite Episode)

Hey, everyone! MegaZardX2 here, making my first post for @picturejasper20′s Amphibia Week to celebrate the coming of All In! (This is also my first actual tumblr post, I guess, so yay for that!) If any of you readers want to participate, then click on the link below to find out more:

Anyways, today’s the first day of Amphibia week, which means it’s time to talk about my favorite episode--which is a thing I don’t really have atm. There are some top contenders, but honestly, I’d probably need to do a full series rewatch to decide on a definitive favorite. Instead, I’ve decided to talk about an episode which, while it may turn out to not be my favorite in retrospect, does mean a lot to me, and that episode is...the one that literally just came out!

So, how ‘bout that kickoff, eh? We got to see everyone fighting together against King Andriass and the Frobot army (including our girl Bella; YAS QUEEN SLAY!), Anne and Sasha dancing circles around Olivia and Yunan, the trio’s unhappy reunion, AND the beginnings of the invasion of Earth! This first 10 to 15 minutes of the finale was a trip and a half, and we’re not even halfway done. I dunno about you, but I feel that Weirdmaggedon is in for some serious competition.

However, all the hype moments aren’t why I’m talking about The Beginning of the End today. It’s the emotional beats which truly make the episode for me and are the reason why it means so much to me, especially as a devout member of Team Marcy.

So, the episode begins with a flashback of Anne, Sasha, and Marcy having one of their sleepovers. They’re all watching one of Marcy’s favorite movies, War of the Warlocks, a clear Lord of the Rings parody with a title probably referencing War of the Worlds. Marcy tries to get them into it by explaining the plot to them, but Anne and Sasha just aren’t interested at all, with Sasha even going so far as to outright say “I don’t actually care.” They’re so bored, in fact, that they even break Sasha’s main rule of sleepovers and fall asleep, leaving Marcy to watch the movie on her lonesome...again. Marcy chuckles, tucks Anne and Sasha in, and happily returns to watching her movie, but not before looking at her friends with a forlorn expression for a split second.

I must admit; as a fellow person with ASD (yes, I’m well aware that’s technically headcanon, but is it really?), seeing that moment hurt. I’ve tried so many times to share my interests and hyperfixations with my family and some of my friends, only to be met with apathy or even condescension, so I know just how Marcy felt in that moment.

However, it’s even deeper than that. This episode serves to properly establish something that many viewers probably guessed about the trio’s relationship: that Marcy is oftentimes treated as the third wheel. It’s not that Anne and Sasha don’t care about her, because they do, but it happened nonetheless. None of this is to excuse her for what she did, of course...but we’ll get to that later.

We then cut to the present, where Anne and Sasha discuss their plan to take back the Calamity Box: use the big battle as a distraction to sneak in and swipe it from right under Andrias’ nose (just like in Marcy’s movie--which they actually remember)! The team moves out for war, but along the way, Sasha and Anne talk about Marcy and how she got them stuck in Amphibia on (semi)-purpose. Sasha is rightfully still pissed about it, but Anne then says that they’ve all made mistakes and that maybe they’re partially to blame. She admits that they have been ignored Marcy’s interests and probably her needs, too, which led to her going behind their backs with her harebrained scheme. Sasha looks down in shame, accepting this truth and wondering if it’s even possible to save their friendship anymore, to which Anne says “I don’t know, but we have to try.”

However, even with this realization, Sasha is still not feeling very forgiving towards Marcy--which, again, is completely in-character and fair of her (if not hypocritical). After all, her attribute is Strength, not Heart, and when she vents about her conflicted feelings towards Marcy in the castle, Anne once again shows her the light.

Sasha: Okay, so let’s say you’re right and we’ve been taking Marcy for granted. That doesn’t change what she’s done.

Anne: It’s not about what she did, Sash. It’s about why she did it.

Sasha: So I’m just supposed to forgive her? Like it’s easy?

Anne: It’s not easy. Forgiveness is hard, and it can take time, but believe me...

*And then the camera pans over to Hop Pop; well done in that one, btw*

Anne: It’s worth it. I mean, just look at what you and I have now. <:)

Sasha: *sniffles* You’re right...Of course you are. Now let’s save that lovable little nerd so we can make things right with her. >:)

This moment. This. Moment. Guys, y’all have no idea how much this moment means to me. Like, I’ll be one of the first to defend Season 3 from its dissenters, especially after this episode, but frankly, as a hardcore Marcy fan, watching it felt like crap at times.

In the episode Olivia & Yunan, the titular duo didn’t try to save Marcy because they cared for her intrinsically; they wanted her for her utilitarian value. Heck, even before that, they were sneaking away in Turning Point even as Marcy was dying on the floor. (I still refuse to forgive them for that, btw. I understand they’re not meant to be her “found family” or anything, but come ON! Did they really feel that LITTLE for her up until she got absorbed by the Core?) The closest relationship that she ever had in Amphibia was with Andrias, and in the end, he chose the Core over her.

And outside of that episode, she’s barely been mentioned until now. Heck, the only times she was mentioned by name during Season 3A and most of Season 3B was when Anne remembered something that she’d learned from her which connected to the current situation, which had me all like “Really? Is that what Marcy is to you now? An encyclopedia?!” She barely even talked about the fact that Marcy had been shanked with a laser sword. Heck, Escape to Amphibia even made a joke out of it! Even when Anne met up with Sasha again and they addressed that Marcy was in trouble, it felt flat. Like she was just another item on a checklist.

I was so worried for Marcy, both as a character and as my kin. Would she get the focus she deserved? Did Anne Sasha, or anyone care about her anymore? Did the show even care about her? And furthermore, how would her story come to an end? Would she be forgiven or would her worst fears become reality? What if she ended up dying all over again?!

And if her story would really end so unhappily...then why? Why did Matt even create her in the first place? Why did he design her in a way to get us attached to her? Just for the sake of making her and all of us (besides people hate Marcy for reasons I will never and do not wish to comprehend) suffer?

Even though I knew many of these thoughts were irrational, I couldn’t stop them from plaguing my mind. That was until The Beginning of the End. Now, I’m no longer afraid, because despite everything that’s happened, despite the horrid thing that Marcy did to them...Anne and Sasha still care about her. They want to save her not because she’s their responsibility or their burden, but because they love her. They still want to be her friend, and deeper still, they want to be better friends than ever for her, such as they want to be better for each other and just as Marcy undoubtedly wants to be better for them--if she still remembers them, of course. There’s the matter of the Core wiping her memories and whatnot, but honestly, I’m not scared about that anymore, either. For the first time in forever, even with the darkness looming overhead, even with the knowledge that every season finale of Amphibia so far has some element of tragedy to it, I am one hundred and ten percent HYPED for what it has in store.

I’m hyped to see these characters fighting for the fate of Earth, Amphibia and all the other worlds.

I’m hyped to see Anne stick it to Andrias, a representation of the dark path that she’ll never go down, once and for all.

I’m hyped to witness Sasha’s duel with Darcy, swords to scythe, and for her to further grapple with her complex emotions.

Heck, I’m legit hyped to see more of Darcy. That’s not something I ever thought I’d say, but after this episode, I can let myself sit back and appreciate what an absolutely cool and fun villain they are.

Most of all, however, I’m so, SO hyped to see Marcy’s side of the story, for her to get those anime powers and finally begin overcoming her demons with the inner strength that I know for a fact she has (and a lil’ help from her friends).

It’s true that I’m a fantasy nerd, and it was the fantasy aspects which initially drew me towards Amphibia, but for me, the ultimate meaning of the show lies in the relationships between the characters. Anne and the Plantars, Sasha and Grime, Marcy and...apparently no one (except Maddie; wish we’d seen more of them hanging out together), and of course, the Calamity trio’s complicated and heartbreaking yet heartwarming friendship. It’s in the message that an honest, earnest approach to relationships built on trust and mutual respect is always the right way to go, and that even a relationship which lacks those things and has grown toxic can be reforged into a stronger, better one, if its participants are willing to put in the work. If the trio’s friendship is truly broken by the end of the series, especially if only Marcy is cut out, I don’t know what I'd do with myself, but now, I’m positive that won’t be the case.

Amphibia has been called an “ode to past friendships,” but I’ve always been on the fence about what that means...until now.

And it’s all thanks to The Beginning of the End that I can finally release myself of my fears and go All In. :)

Omg ok hi saw across the spiderverse so glad ur also losing ur mind over it and needed to talk to someone abt the way that Gwen’s interactions w her dad r done because the way the art style shifts every time they’re around each other is so!!!!!! Like the colours shifting the second the emotions change in the scene is so so well done and lowkey really really relatable cause every time I had a fight w my parents at sixteen (I’m pretty sure that’s how old Gwen is not 100% tho) I would literally have an entire inner monologue/animation sequence running in my head. Anyway yeah not really a question I just loved how her storyline was handled and how she was allowed to be more fleshed out in this movie compared to the first where she was really fun but just couldn’t get the same attention to detail devoted to her. Idk it was nice to get the glimpse into her head and made her a lot more sympathetic in the later half when she…. yknow. Not really sure how to end this but I loved the movie Im probably gonna go rewatch it next week if I have time and I’ve been trying so hard to ignore all the posts so I didn’t get spoilers and it was so worth it it was so good!!!

I can't word it in any other way than this movie fucking LOVES it's characters... there's so much emotion and motive behind all of them. Gwen getting the entire first half of this movie to herself, her thoughts, relationships and isolation all tied together by her universe looking like a beautiful watercolor painting.... what the hell is that other than so much love for a character.

Her fights with her dad honestly hurt with how raw and real they felt. She was trying to hard to be heard and just.... wow.

Also I'm DYING to see more of Jess!!! She seems so close to and cares about Gwen! That's her mentor aswell as being the main antagonists right hand, I want to know about her.

But this is probably the only movie series I'll ever say I genuinely am not complaining about the lack of content there and I 100% trust we will see her more in the next movie.

obviously hangman/rooster for this blog. i didnt’ get it the first time i watched the movie and then the second time i went in and my head exploded. glen powell and miles teller made some acting choices and i support them for that. i’ve written so many unhinged posts about them i dont think i need to ramble on any more.

i went on a trip in december and on the plane i watched the netflix show 1899. it’s pretty good, i’d rec to anyone who hasn’t seen it. from that show, olek/ling yi are my ship of choice. they’re literally so fucking cute. neither of them understand what the other is saying at any given moment but it doesn’t even matter they just stare soulfully into each others eyes and understand each other better than the people who do speak the same language.

final ship is roy/jamie/keeley from ted lasso these guys had my brain on lock for most of autumn. something about parallels. something about jamie having keeley’s picture in his locker and roy’s poster on his wall. i just think they’d balance each other out. roy’s got a lot of attention to give. keeley needs more space. jamie loves attention. i’d take this even platonicly i just think me, my boyfriend, and the guy i used to date who just kinda hangs around us now is an underutilized dynamic but its one of my favorites. (see steve nancy jonathon and scott allision isaac for other examples).

First ship

god it was either a percy jackson ship or a dc comics ship. if it was percy jackson it might’ve been jason/reyna that was the ship i felt most strongly about from that series (even though yeah percy and annabeth are literal soulmates) if it was dc, it was probably robin/kidflash from my young justice obsession

okay so i just watched the menu which really got me craving a cheeseburger. but i’ve currently paused my james bond skyfall rewatch to do this ask game.

well i’m currently doing a craigbond marathon because my friend offhandedly mentioned no time to die to me earlier and then i was like “oh i wanna watch that but oh i have to see this scene from spectre but oh now i have to see this bit from skyfall” and now we’re here. besides that i’ve also been on a daredevil kick and rewatching some of that this past week.

I wonder what it says about a person* when their COMFORT ‘Go-To-When-Feeling-Shitty’ show is a fucking post-apocalyptic drama series that rips your heart out every fucking week and leaves you in shambles and sobbing on the floor for five (six in 24 hours) weeks straight! (Probably a field day for therapists!)

I did NOT expect this. NOT ONE FUCKING BIT!

I mean, I very often trust my Twitter (and Tumblr) when it comes to new stuff, new shows, new films. And I very often check them out - not always when they come out, but often enough (especially when MY shows are on hiatus don’t have an airdate yet).

And the hype was/is HUGE. I do understand that. Taking something that’s so beloved is always tough to get right. So people will love it WHEN they do.

So yeah, I did see the promos and the tweets and since it’s one of the very few shows that are on SKY here at the same time as in the US, I was like, why the hell not.

Monday’s are my day off, so I didn’t think much when I hit ‘play’ on the first episode of The Last Of Us on it’s first day!!!

I knew shit about it, NEVER played the game, and never heard about it before the show started to gain buzz.

Watched the first episode and was like ‘okay, yeah, looks okay enough, maybe a TAD too close to home these days, but hey, we made it more or less so lets see how they fare’

Watched the second one. Did a rewatch of the first one to better understand it. Impressed with how it was made, and I knew I would be sticking with it - if only because it was something to watch on Monday mornings/noons.

And then the third episode came out.

OH BOY!!

I had an INKLING, maybe like wishful thinking when Bill fished Frank out of the hole. But I’m also too traumatized by too many shows to have actual HOPE of a queer episode. I full on expected the usual: some looks, some touches, some ‘im not queer’ excuses when the person is clearly interested/horny.

HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! (And again, this all would give a therapist a fucking FIELD DAY with everyone!)

That was the most beautifully written/executed episode since ‘You wear fine things well’!!! I’ve lost count of the rewatches, and I will root for every fucking award show that episode will be nominated for (yes, the rest deserves some love as well but THIS ONE IS THE FUCKING PINNACLE OF EPISODES!)

After that I started listening to the podcasts going with the show. (I NEVER do that!)

E4 came out and I fell a little more in love with Ellie and Joel - I can’t even say what it was: his NEED to protect her, her softening up beside him��

I just knew it was soo different from what I expected from a show/pairing like that. Easier, maybe? Them opening up (sort of) to each other without all the usual tropes of prying it from their cold hearts and rigid souls?

And then Joel laughs. He tries soo very hard not to, but he can’t help himself. (Sidenote: I was curious as to how they translated that particular pun into German - they didn’t. They used a different one that (naturally) wasn’t as funny as the original one).

It’s dark, it’s scary, it’s not safe. And he lies there in the dark, giggling with all he has about a stupid PUN. Oh my heart (Hell, I'm grinning TYPING this, just thinking about it so yeah…)

Safe to say: I was HOOKED!

(also: EYE CRINKLES. That man has laughed A LOT in his life, and it shows. I leave it up to you whether i mean Joel or Pedro!)

And then there was the sniper scene in E5!!!

ARGH!!! I don’t even know why, but I fucking LOVE that scene soooo freaking much!!!

Ellie, among all those Infected, KNOWING that Joel will have her back after only knowing him for a few days (?).

Joel, watching her like a hawk, not wasting ammunition and only taking out anyone that comes too close to HER!

Her BLIND trust that he watches over her and takes care of her.

His laser focus on HER, not caring what happens to him, the deep NEED to protect her.

GUH!!! If I could give out awards for spectacular SCENES, this 10, 15 minutes would get ALL THE FUCKING AWARDS!!!

So yeah. Now Im sitting here, on this grey, wet Sunday morning, about 14 hours away from episode 6, eagerly awaiting to get my heart ripped out AGAIN, typing away the things I feel about a fucking VIDEO GAME ADAPTATION SHOW!!!

*shakes head at self*

(That happens when MY shows go on hiatus - I fall in love with all the GREAT NEW SHIT that HBO puts out! Soo soo happy that they already got a second season so no need to worry about that! Still miffed that OFMD had to wait and worry for soo long. Ah well.)

And since it’s me, and I don’t do shit by halves, I'm also falling in love with the cast.

Yes, mainly with Pedro because DUH. Have you seen the man’s interviews? His SNL epicness? THAT SMILE??!?! I dare you NOT get all giggly and gooey when he starts cackling out of the blue about his own silly jokes! And I'm not even trying to resist, it's too damn late for that anyways! He's too fucking charming, and these days anything that brightens my days is very welcome!

The love and adoration he has for Bella is adorable. Their chemistry is insane. She’s soo young and yet so mature, and he treats her like an equal which is amazing.

And I can't wait to watch ALL THE INTERVIEWS running up to the show. I’ve got lots of catching up to do.

(I’ve also listened to a few podcasts already, and DAMN, he’s another DAMN GOOD EGG. Humble and funny, VERY down do Earth despite the (quiet) success he’s been having for YEARS now! I’ve been making a list with all the things I need to watch… and I’ve seen him in soo many things already. Just never really noticed. *sighs heavily*

(Im also slightly [read: HORRIBLY SO] terrified because once you get into the show, you also get spoilers from the game -it’s unavoidable- and even though i do NOT know for sure (and won’t actively look for it) I fear for his fate. I KNOW they deviated before with Bill and Frank, and they may do it again with others, so I still have hopes, but the bits I’ve seen… well.

And i will prepare myself for the worst - just in case. Not that it’ll help much but I can lie to myself for as long as necessary.)
