Johnnycake, also known as journey cake, johnny bread, hoecake, shawnee cake or spider cornbread, is a cornmeal flatbread, a type of batter bread. An early American staple food, it is prepared on the Atlantic coast from Newfoundland to Jamaica. The food originates from the indigenous people of North America. It is still beating in the West Indies, Dominican Republic, Saint Croix, The Bahamas, Colombia, Bermuda, Curaçao and Puerto Rico as well as in the United States and Canada.
The modern johnnycake is found in the cuisine of New England and is often claimed as originating in Rhode Island. A modern johnnycake is fried cornmeal gruel, which is made from yellow or white cornmeal mixed with salt and hot water or milk, and sometimes sweetened. In the Southern United States, the term used is hoecake, although this can also refer to cornbread fried in a pan.

I have traveled to:
More than three states in the US
Mexico
Canada
A place that starts with the letter L I mean yeah I guess. No famous countries or cities or anything like that but I've traveled to local provinces with cities starting with L.
Austria
An island I live in an archipelago.
A big city Sure! Manila, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore.
Anywhere in Africa
Japan I've been to Fukuoka.
A place where English is not the main language That would be Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, and Indonesia for me.
Anywhere in the southern hemisphere If I'm not mistaken, Indonesia ticks that box.
India
Netherlands
I Have Read:
Any of the Bible I had to read it every single day in Catholic school for nearly 15 years. I had to read the four Gospels, mainly, but I also had this brief phase in like 6th grade where I wanted to challenge myself to read the Bible in its entirety (I didn't get to accomplish it).
At least two Harry Potter books I read a good part of it but stopped by the blue book(?) because the plots were starting to feel a little repetitive.
The entire Twilight series I've done this, but I've done more rewatches of the entire movie series moreso than the book.
Catch-22
Animal Farm
A Dr. Seuss book I'm sure I did as a kid. My favorite Dr. Seuss memory though was watching the Cat in the Hat movie over and over.
Instructions to a piece of Ikea information
A warning label that made me laugh
A biography/autobiography This is my favorite genre.
Dante’s Inferno
A Chuck Palahniuk book
A newspaper in the last week
Something that made me cry
I Like to Eat:
Spam I like spam, but when it's part of spamsilog. Spam on its own is on the salty side so I like to have other flavors to balance it out.
Mexican food It's not the 1st or 5th cuisine I'd look for but I like it nonetheless. I only have certain favorites though, like burritos.
Brussell sprouts
Onions Especially when they come as fried onion bits in burgers.
Watermelon
Vegan food I love trying out vegan meals whenever I can! Not a lot of vegan offerings where I live to begin with, so it's something I explore when I get the chance.
Bacon I might be in the minority but I love my bacon on the non-crispy side.
Chocolate
New things I'm very adventurous when it comes to food and am open to trying pretty much anything as long as they aren't made with fruit.
Escargot Love snail. We have a local dish where we cook them in coconut milk and it's one of my favorites.
Hummus Hummus is great! I discovered it in high school when I was attending college entrance review classes, and I haven't looked back since lol.
Haggis
Indian food My favorite cuisine.
Home cooking Home-style meals always feel like a warm hug, especially when it's Filipino food.
Fast food Not too much of it but I do indulge myself from time to time.
My Favorite Actors Include:
Mark Wahlberg
Morgan Freeman
James Franco
Leonardo DiCaprio His acting skills are undeniable but I'm just a little 50-50 on him these days due to his dating choices, and that makes it difficult to vouch for him fully.
Robert DeNiro
Samuel L. Jackson
Chris Hemsworth
Elijah Wood
Johnny Depp
Steve Buscemi
Robin Williams His performance in Good Will Hunting changed me. I still hold on to his delivery of "It's not your fault."
Jack Black
Channing Tatum
I Have Listened to These Bands:
Taylor Swift Only because I have no choice. She's everywhere.
AC/DC
Jay-Z The Watch the Throne album raised me throughout my middle school years.
Frank Sinatra
Pink Floyd
Fall Out Boy Folie A Deux is my favorite album of theirs.
Incubus
No Doubt
The White Stripes
Skrillex LOL yes. Dubstep was crazy popular when I was in high school and I'm more than ready to admit I had a big Skrillex phase at the time.
Tenacious D I was obsessed with playing Rock Band when I was younger and the game I played had a Tenacious D track in it, so that's how I came to know the band.
Metallica I must've listened to For Whom the Bell Tolls a million times after Triple H came out to it during one of the past Wrestlemanias.
Britney Spears She was huge on radio from 2008-2011 and I lovedddddd all the singles that came out at the time.
Ke$ha If you told me to summarize 2009 in one word I would answer with Ke$ha. Sis blew up overnight and Tik Tok was playing everywhere.
The Beatles I tried to like them because everyone had been listening to them, but I couldn't find myself becoming a fan of the music.
I Have/Had These Pets:
Dog I had Kimi for 14 years, and currently I have a 4-year-old and 2-year-old in Cooper and Agi.

Goat
Fish Had several goldfish as a kid.
Mouse
Spider
Pig
Hedgehog
Ferret
I Have Seen These Movies:
Fifth Element
Gone With the Wind I was introduced to classic Hollywood by an ex, and Gone with the Wind had been one of the first movies I got to watch. I owned the book and read the first few chapters, too, but ultimately never got to finish reading it.
Nightmare Before Christmas
High School Musical Pretty much took over my life in grade school. I had (and still have) the choreo to We're All In This Together memorized and I've lost count of the many birthday parties I was invited to that were High School Musical-themed.
Kickin’ It Old School
Casablanca I must've tried watching Casablanca more than ten times, but it always bored me.

Music Theory
Philosophy I had to take it for a couple of years in high school and HATEDDDDD IT. The one thing that saved my final grade was the actual finals of the class since it turned out to be objective.
French
Theater
Choir
Psychology I took a psych elective since psychology was one of my dream courses and I figured taking a bunch of psych electives can let me be immersed in their world, but my prof wasn't the best and it put me off from taking any further psych electives. Marin County Mart, 2257 Larkspur Landing Cir, Larkspur, CA 94939
Tumblr media
This shopping complex, which used to be known as Larkspur Landing, has gone completely upscale. Honestly, it looks a lot like an outdoor shopping mall in Malibu and Brentwood, Los Angeles, and I suspect that the same developers were responsible for the three. It doesn’t feel really like a Northern California mall to me, but it is very attractive and pleasant. Also, some of the businesses are only found in the Bay Area and some are national.
It's not a huge mall but it has nice shops including Diptyque, Fred Segal, Design Within Reach, Topdrawer, Veronica Beard, etc. There are clothing stores, stationery stores, a toy store, home décor stores, fragrance stores, a bookstore, spas, fitness studios, a bank, post office, and lots of restaurants. Restaurants are more casual than formal and include a wide range of cuisines. Some of them are Souvla, Shake Shack, Rustic Bakery, Pressed Juicery, Johnny Doughnuts, Miette, Hog Island Oyster, and El Huarache Loco. I saw lotions from Italy, candles from France, and lots of lovely things to covet.
There are grassy areas, lots of restaurants with outdoor patios, and it’s walking distance to the ferry. The farmer’s market is every Saturday morning. Parking was easy to find.
5 out of 5 stars

How Did You Spend Your Childhood in Georgia?
Whether you were born in Georgia or raised there, you've been questioned about growing up in this southern state. Here are some facts about college that you may not have known, whether you are a first-generation college student or a seasoned adult. Georgia has something for everyone, whether you grew up on a plantation or in a city.
"Georgia: The Unknown South" is one of the most popular books about Georgia. Clay Claycomb grew up in Liberty County, Georgia, famous for its wild west. It had a military facility and a beautiful shoreline and was located on the coast. He was a natural-born sheriff since he was captivated by his surroundings as a child. The author recalls his childhood in this section of the state.
Any Georgian can recall the wonderful experiences of visiting the state's beaches. However, while beaches and rivers are wonderful, barrier islands, which offer gorgeous natural scenery and rich culture, are generally overlooked. As a result, if you've ever visited Georgia, you can use the many available resources and services. Just make sure to ask your parents for assistance if you require it. While the state is known for being pricey, you'll always receive more bang for your dollar.
If you're seeking cheap housing in the city, you should look outside the city limits for a while. Georgia's property appreciation rates continue to rise. Therefore you might consider living in a nearby city, such as Columbus. Furthermore, hoodies are prohibited in public in Dublin. Finally, the cost of homeowners insurance in the state ranks 19th in the US.
Aside from the wonderful weather, Atlanta features a plethora of family-friendly attractions. In the surrounding area, there are zoos and aquariums, as well as concerts and parks. Children can attend either the Atlanta Public School System or the Fulton County School System. If you have children, Gwinnett School of Mathematics and Walton High School are good public schools in Atlanta. In addition to public institutions, there are various private schools.
Johnny Cash was born in the city of Savannah, Georgia. For his job, his father drove a Model T vehicle to Savannah. The family lived on Burnside Island, which was adjacent to the Back River, and subsequently renamed Moon River after one of his famous compositions. Before the Civil War, the family frequently escaped the heat of Savannah to Vernon View on Burnside Island, where he was raised amid a community of black families and descendants of enslaved people. The neighborhood was filled with black families and people of African heritage who spoke a Geechee dialect that was distinctive to Georgia's low region.
If you're considering relocating to Georgia, keep in mind that living expenses are lower than the national average. Georgia housing is inexpensive and may accommodate any lifestyle, depending on where you live. The average cost of a house in the state is just under $200,000, making it one of the more affordable areas in the country to live. While housing prices in Georgia have consistently climbed year after year, the average cost remains quite low.
There are plenty of enjoyable activities in Georgia for both adults and children. Georgia is an excellent place to raise a family because it is a very family-friendly state. Zoos and theme parks are popular family destinations. Stone Mountain also offers exciting adventures. While Georgia has a mild and sunny climate, there are occasional hot summers.
The state is also noted for its welcoming neighborhoods, delectable cuisine, and thriving sports culture. Georgia, in addition to its pleasant, sunny atmosphere, has stunning mountains and abundant green space. However, its crowded cities and horrible traffic tell a different story. Despite these advantages, Georgia has a lot to offer. Take a look at these benefits and drawbacks, and you'll understand why people are coming to Georgia.

Offshore Excursions in Bahamas
Tumblr media
If you love the water, you can enjoy an offshore excursion in Bahamas by snorkeling and scuba diving. These excursions offer a wide variety of fun activities for people of all ages. You can visit the island's coral gardens, see Caribbean reef sharks, and enjoy Bahamian snacks and beverages. If you prefer to explore the underwater world on your own, you can opt for the self-guided tour. These tours offer a great way to learn more about the culture and art of the Bahamas.
The cruise line in Excursions Nassau provides transportation to and from the islands. Some tours offer round-trip services, with pickups from hotels and other accommodations. Morning dives are held around 7:50 am and afternoon dives are conducted at approximately 1:00pm. The tour is available for both men and women, and there are several times to choose the excursion. You should always check with the ship's schedule before deciding on the tour. However, the morning dives last approximately two hours, which means that you can spend the rest of the day at the beach.
Most cruise lines offer food and beverage tours in the Bahamas. There is something for everyone on the list, from rock lobster to traditional cornbread-like Johnny cakes. Food tours in Bahamas can include historical sites and national landmarks, or simply enjoy island food and drinks. Food and drink tours are also a great way to explore the culture of the Bahamas, and can range from simple beach break excursions to daylong activities. Once you've found your perfect tour, you'll be ready to discover the islands on your own.
If you're looking for an exotic experience, the Bahamas have it. You can go snorkeling, go kayaking, or even horseback riding on the white sand. It's a trip you'll never forget. With breathtaking views, crystal blue waters, and thrilling activities, the Bahamas can offer the perfect romantic getaway. And if you're looking for something a bit more relaxing, you can choose a romantic or family cruise. The island has many different types of restaurants and entertainment facilities for any budget.
For the most fun, choose an Excursions Nassau that allows you to see a bit of history. Fort Montagu, for instance, was built in 1725 to protect the British possession of the island from Spanish invaders. Later, the Fort was the site of the first US Marine Corps' military action. In 1776, US Marines set out for the island to recover supplies of gunpowder, but they ended up empty-handed. However, they were able to take control of Fort Montagu and forced the Bahamian militia to retreat.
Another unique shore excursion in the Bahamas is Kayak Turtle Park. This 90-minute tour starts with a ferry boat ride to Sweeting's Cay, an unspoiled cay in Grand Bahama. You'll be able to see hundreds of starfish and touch some. Once there, you'll also enjoy a short talk on marine life. There's plenty to see during your Bahamas cruise. And don't forget to sample some local cuisine on board the ferry! You can get more enlightened on this topic by reading here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bahamas.

You’ve been seeing Mr Suh, correction, Johnny, his first name, as per requested by Johnny himself.
“Mr Suh makes me feel older than I already am, you make me feel like a teenager all over again, so you have to call me Johnny. Let me relive my days when I was still a college kid.”
You didn’t mind, things aren’t as awkward between the two of you anymore, Johnny’s been spending time with you, although the two of you never established any sort of labelling towards what this relationship is. You and Johnny only hung out and had meals together, trying out different cuisines, watching movies, even going as far as skipping a day at work to go to the amusement park. He even bought you to an arcade when you told him you haven’t had the chance to venture to one since you were in grade school.
“Why haven’t you ever been to one for so long?” Johnny asked when he finished a round of pinball.
“They said it was a waste of time and that I should spend more time studying,” you said, wondering why Johnny would ask that, isn’t it the same for all the kids?
Whenever you mention your confining life to Johnny, he’d have a faraway look in his eyes, jaw locked in silent rebuke, he doesn’t say anything, he pulls you close, wrapping an arm around your shoulder. He would be quite for almost half an hour before he goes back to regular cheerful Johnny, telling you lame jokes that you would surprisingly find funny.
You didn’t have a phone, since your parents forbid you to have one, the only means of communicating is through your email account on your laptop, and even that you must always bear in mind to delete his mails right after, and take further precaution, you didn’t allow him to initiate the sending.
Johnny wanted to buy you one, but you rejected him promptly, you didn’t want him to spend so much money on you, he already spends lots on taking you out to eat. You gave him the excuse that it was too dangerous, and the consequences of getting caught are severe.
You often questioned your relationship with Johnny, you aren’t dumb, you’ve googled him and saw gossip news portals uploading photos of him and some model going out and about in hotels, but those headlines were months ago, the latest news about him was from his interview with Times magazine.
You never had the guts to ask him, you don’t know what you mean to him. What right do you have to question his whereabouts and what he does? He’ll probably be bored of you after he’s known all of you.
You know you shouldn’t think of Johnny that way, it is mean to assume what he’s thinking, especially how well he’s treating you, but seeing those headlines gives you a sense of insecurity, you keep telling yourself that this won’t last, but the thought of not seeing him again made your hair stand. He’s making you happy, a distraction towards the negativity you face in that house you live in, but for how long?
House. You never called it a home, unless you were telling your boss you were leaving, to prevent anyone from questioning your odd way of describing it. It was never a home to you. To you, a home is a place where you feel happy, safe, and most importantly, loved. The closest you’ve ever felt to having these feelings were your grandma and Joh... No, you don’t love him, and he doesn’t love you. What were you thinking?
You pushed those thoughts away as you opened your laptop to double check the files that you’ve typed out for your parent’s next important meeting that was supposed to be taking place first thing tomorrow. But when you went through your folders, the files were nowhere to be seen. It’s then you realised that the notification that keeps urging you to update the laptop was gone, it wasn’t the first time you updated the laptop and found out some files were missing, so you would never update the laptop at such a crucial time.
You took the laptop out to your father who was watching some news on his phone in the dining area to ask him if he had updated the software without alerting you.
“Yes, I did. What about it?” he asked, annoyance on his face due to the sudden disturbance.
“The files are missing because of the update,” you informed him.
“What files?”
“The files for tomorrow’s meeting, they’re missing,” you told him as you mentally prepared yourself for what’s to come.
“What do you mean missing?! I bet it was because you saved it wrongly again! Your retarded brain never works does it?! Do you know how important those files are?! You always work on them late at night blurry eyed, of course you didn’t save them properly! You could’ve worked on them in the morning before work. but no... You want to ‘exercise’! What a waste of time!” You’re not pretty anyways, what are you doing them for huh?!” Your father shouted, his eyes blazing in rage, his fist slamming onto the glass.
While your father was shouting, your mother was checking the laptop as she complains about how clueless you are. It was like your brain couldn’t take the amount of hurtful words piercing into your mind like daggers, you let out a high pitched scream as tears threatened to fall, your hands covering your ears as your eyes were a blur.
When you could see properly again, you could make up words which sounded like ‘how dare you’ from your father, next thing you registered were the fury in his eyes as he advances on you, hand above his head, ready to hit you. You didn’t know what came over you, but the first thing you did was kicking him away. That’s when a full on fight broke out.
You were filled with rage, your mind wasn’t registering what you were doing. You went into a flight or fight stance and started thrashing and kicking as his hands were holding painfully tight on your wrists after you tried punching him.
Your mom urges the both of you not to fight, her voice barely registering in your head as she sits still on the high chair by the kitchen island, not bothered to even try to cease the fight.
When you finally pushed him away, you ran into your room and locked it. Your chest was heaving from the panic attack that just started, you tried your best to calm yourself down, reminding yourself to breathe, it was suffocating, controlling your breathing as more tears made its way out of your eyes.
When it all stopped, your body succumbed into mental exhaustion, passing out on your bed as the tears finally ceased.
Tumblr media
You only woke up for dinner last night, and proceeded to sleep again. Yesterday’s events made you feel numb, other than the pain from the bruises on your arms.
There was a big ugly one on your left upper arm, its colour an ugly shade of green and purple.  A few other less serious ones scattered around your lower arms. In other words, you look like a wreck.
You wore a jacket to run even though you were sweating from your previous cardio work outs, feeling a little better after the endorphins in your body kicked in. When you got back, you quickly showered and ate a toast. When you asked for your mother’s phone to remind your boss you were going to take the day off, she told you that weren’t needed at the meeting anymore and that she finished everything last night.
“Just call to say that you’ll be going to work,” she said, not even looking in your direction when she handed you her phone.
But when you called to inform your boss, he told you that he had another part time coming in, and that it was too short of a notice. You said thank you and hung up, but said that you’ll be at work on time today before handing it back to your mother.
You really needed to escape for the day.
You opened the laptop and sent an email to Johnny.
I’m free today. Wanna go out?
You sat on your bed staring at the ceiling as you were sure it was going to be a bit before he replied, but just as you closed your eyes, you heard a distant chime from your laptop.
I’m rushing some stuff at the office today. I’m so sorry, Y/N.
Can I stay in your office? I really wanna get out of the house.
You sounded like a spoiled kid begging for attention, but you really wanted to see him today.
Sure. But you might get bored :) .
I’m leaving the house now :) .
For a 26 year old businessman, he sure loves to use emoticons.
You got changed into jeans and a jacket, you don’t usually wear one if you were going to a secluded area with Johnny, but you had to hide all the marks from last night. You just noticed that they hurt after you accidentally knocked your wrist against something.
You took the bus to the address Johnny wrote down on your diary, it was after one of your dinners together, and he jokingly said that you could always swing by if you wanted, you didn’t know you were going to actually do that.
The bus station wasn’t too far of a walk from his office, since it was just downtown Seoul where the Korea’s financial hub was located.
As you were nearing the office buildings, you stood out like a sore thumb, given the way you were dressed and your age. The people kept giving you stink eyes and sideway glances.
Suh Capital Partners. That was it.
You walked in the rotating doors, only to be greeted by masses of people walking around with smart pads, files, talking on the phone while the assistants take notes. Johnny didn’t mention his company being this big.
You admired the facade of the lobby, it displayed the latest news on a large monitor while futuristic lights hung from the high ceiling, the walls were a perfect balance of steel and wood with a wall of plants filled the wall behind the reception area.
You realised that the people stopped what they were doing before and started looking at you curiously when one of the nicely dressed women from the reception walked up to you.
“Excuse me, miss. May I ask who are you looking for?” the woman asked, her eyes scanning you from top to toe.
You froze at your spot from how cold she sounded, like she didn’t want you around to ruin the aesthetic of the company. You reminded yourself that you weren’t going to see her anytime soon after this and that if you did make a fool of yourself then so be it.
“I’m looking for Mr Suh,” you told her.
She looked taken aback from your answer, but gave you the ugliest sneer when she recovered.
“Miss, this isn’t a school, you can’t just walk in here and demand to see someone without an appointment. Mr Suh is the head of this company, not someone you can just meet without an agreement from him. Please leave this instance,” she said, her tone high pitched enough to gather everyone’s attention, you swore you heard someone laughing a few feet away.
“But...
“That’s my guest, Ms Park.”
You whipped your head back to see Johnny standing behind you. But instead of his usual warm honey eyes, his eyes were a cold and staring daggers into the woman in front of you.
“I’m so sorry, Mr Suh. I’ll get back to my work now,” the woman bowed apologetically, going as far as doing it numerous times.
“I’m going to need a key card for her, Ms Park. Send it up to me when you’re done,” Johnny said, but his eyes were scanning the crowd, his employees immediately went back to what they were doing, the large lobby void of any sound other than people rushing to the lift lobby to escape the scene.
Johnny placed a hand behind your back and guided you to the lift lobby after most of the people have taken the ride up to their respective floors.
“I’m sorry,” you said after the coast was clear.
Johnny’s intimidating stance broke as confusion takes over his face.
“What are you sorry for?” Johnny asked, he should be the one saying sorry.
“I’m such an embarrassment, coming here in my jeans and jacket with a canvas bag, looking like a kid,” you said, fingers nervously tugging the straps of your old bag.
“Hey, hey, hey. Nothing’s wrong with being young and dressing your age. They’re just grumpy from all the work. Don’t take their words into account, and you look great. Perfection as always,” Johnny said reassuringly, hands placed on your shoulder, the warmth of his palms calming you slightly.
“No....
You buried your face into your hands as he patted your head, you sneakily glanced up to see him smiling at you with a toothy grin. But you quickly regained posture as you saw an elevator door open with many pairs of legs.
Johnny wasn’t going in even though the lift was going up, that’s when people in the lift realised it was him, and quickly came out of the lift, saying sorry and greeting Johnny.
Johnny guided you in after the lift was cleared empty. His staff looking at you curiously, you weren’t used to having so many pairs of eyes on you, their curious eyes burning holes into you.
Johnny could sense your anxiousness from the way you were hiding behind his tall figure as the two of you walked into his office, there weren’t many people at that time, given the fact that only direct reports of his business partners came up to hand in documents.
You only felt yourself loosen up a bit after you took a seat on Johnny’s armchair in his huge office, overlooking Seoul’s skyline and the cars that were buzzing about on the roads. The view made you calm down a bit from the journey coming up here.
You felt the chair dip as Johnny took a seat on its armrest, his hands coming up to give your shoulders a nice massage. Johnny smiled at the way your eyes lit up from his comforting touch as you looked back to smile at him, he felt a warm feeling deep in his belly as he takes in your beautiful features and the warmth of your shoulders on his fingertips. But as he puts more pressure onto your shoulders, you wince slightly, which didn’t go unnoticed by him.
“Did your boss at work make you lift heavy stuff again?” Johnny asked, his hands ceased all movements, fearing that he would hurt you again.
You automatically thought of your fight with your father last night, it might be because of the force exerted from when he had pushed you.
“N-no, I just didn’t sleep well last night. I watched a horror movie and had a nightmare,” you lied, not knowing how he would react if you told him the truth.
“Be careful when watching these movies, Y/N. If you went to work and your boss really made you move heavy things today, then you would’ve strain your muscles,” Johnny said, going back to massaging your shoulders, but this time gently applying pressure on that spot, rubbing it in clockwise circles to ease the pain.
“I’m fine, Johnny. Didn’t you have work to rush? I don’t want to keep you away from important matters. And my shoulders feel much better now,” you said, moving away from his hands even though you could’ve let him do that forever, it felt so comforting, borderline addictive.
“Okay, I’ll tend to your shoulders again later.” Johnny said as he lays his head on top of yours, a gesture that he had came up with whenever he wanted to show affection to you without crossing uncharted territories, your heart sped up whenever he does that.
You were just sitting on the couch reading one of your old books when you looked up and saw Johnny frowning at his laptop, you placed your book down and made your way to Johnny.
“Don’t frown like that, you’ll get frown lines when you’ll get older, it’ll spoil your handsome face,” you joked.
Your hands reach out to smooth the creases on his forehead, a smile coming back to Johnny’s face.
“Thank you,” he said, taking your busy hand into his, lightly tracing the area between your thumb and your index finger.
“What’s bothering you?” you asked, unbeknownst to you, your lips were unconsciously set in a pout.
“There’s some documents that are supposed to be sent to my office in Chicago, but the English that’s written here isn’t up to standards, I’m worried the staff there won’t understand what the document is stating. I don’t mind correcting it, but I have other things to tend to as well,” Johnny explained to you.
“Can I take a look at it? I had Cambridge classes for 8 years. Guess it’s finally coming in handy. I mean only if you think I’m capable, I don’t want you to think I’m boasting or anything, I just really wanna help...
“Y/N, sweet, I trust you. Just let me get you a laptop,” he said before dialling to his secretary.
Once Johnny sent the files to that laptop, you started correcting some grammatical errors and replaced some terms that weren’t as professional, when Johnny was done with his meeting, you were done with the documents as well.
“Here, take a look. There might be mistakes,” you said after sending him the files back.
“You were reading ‘me before you’, I think you’re fine, Y/N,” Johnny deadpanned.
“Just take a look, just in case,” you pleaded, doe eyes capturing his heart. Nodding, Johnny smiles, doing as you said.
Johnny scanned through the documents, his eyes lighting up brighter after each sentence, a proud smile making way on his face. When he was done, he pulled you close by the waist, and gave you a warm hug, his head nuzzling into your sweater.
“Thank you so much, sweetheart. I thought I needed to work overtime because of this,” he said, his voice was slightly muffled by the cotton.
“You’re welcome. You can always send me these files when I’m not here, I don’t want you to overwork yourself,” you offered.
“I’m fine, don’t worry. Wanna grab lunch? I can hear your stomach rumbling,” Johnny asked after pulling away, a cheeky glint in his eyes.
You could feel your cheeks heating up in embarrassment, as you hit Johnny’s shoulders lightly for his teasing, a smile creeping up your face.
“No, I’m not...
“Come on, I know this really nice French restaurant around the corner...
“Johnny I have the file you were...
Doyoung stops in his tracks as he sees you and Johnny being so close to each other.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know you had a guest,” Doyoung apologises, but his eyes were still wide in disbelief.
“Doyoung. This is Y/N. Y/N, Doyoung is one of my business partners, his dad was my dad’s business partner so now it’s his turn,” Johnny introduces his friend to you, telling you a bit of his background.
You gave Doyoung a tiny bow and soft hello, nerves wrecking up at meeting someone you often see on telly whenever their company has a press conference. You could sense an air of discomfort as Doyoung gives you a questioning look.
“You can just put the files on my desk Doyoung. I’ll take a look at them after my lunch break.”
Tumblr media
When the evening rolled in, Johnny had to drive you home before your mom questioned your whereabouts.
“I really enjoyed having you by my side today, Y/N,” Johnny said sincerely after pulling up outside the gated area.
“I should be the one thanking you, I can’t believe those snails cost so much, yet you won’t let me pay you back whenever we have meals together,” you retorted, recalling how your eyes almost flew out of their sockets when you stole a glance at the bill.
“Money is not an issue, Y/N. I told you that many times before,” Johnny reminded you.
“I’ll see you on Saturday?” you asked, changing the subject before he offers to buy you a house or something.
“Yeah,” Johnny said, chuckling at how you diverted his attention.
Johnny unlocked the doors of his car, but right before you pulled onto the handle, Johnny pulled your arm, the place where one of the bigger bruises were located at, making you wince at the unexpected pain.
“Y/N I wanted to ask, wait. Are you in pain? Are you hurt? Did I accidentally hurt you?” Johnny asked his eyes wide in worry.
Before you could protest, Johnny pushed up the sleeves of your sweater, revealing the big ugly bruise on your upper arm, and several others that went downwards until your wrist.
You looked up at Johnny, scanning his face that was frozen in shock, eyes not believing what he’s seeing. His fingers gently tracing every bruise, his other hand rotating your arm gently, to see if there’s more.
“Y/N... Who did this to you?” Johnny questioned, but deep down in his gut, he’s sure it’s who he thinks it is.
“No one, Johnny. I just fell down when I woke up,” you said, lying through your teeth, you didn’t want to, but that was your survival instinct whenever someone asks about your parents.
“Don’t lie to me Y/N, it’s them isn’t it? They hit you. Why didn’t you tell me?” Johnny demanded, he questions why you don’t trust him, was he not worthy in your eyes?
“It’s nothing, Johnny. Goodnight,” you said in a breath before turning away.
You quickly got out of his car and ran to your lift lobby, Johnny was following behind you. But before he could step into the premise, you shut the glass door which could only be opened with a security card on him, mouthing the words sorry before you made your way into a lift.
Johnny banged at the door, shouting for you to come back, before the security guards asked him to leave. He could feel a prickle in his heart as he sees the bruises in his head, the image fresh. He felt red hot anger boiling in his heart, he was going to get you out of that horrible place, no matter what it takes.

THE BAHAMAS WHERE: Homecooked! Ah, Bahamas-- as I've learned this week, it's the land of Johnny Depp (on vacation), one of the world’s biggest aquariums, pink beaches, loyalists that said 'oh fuck this' when we won the Revolution War, an island named after my home that is not my home (Long Island), Blackbeard and SWIMMING PIGGIES. Dude, seriously, you can SWIM with PIGGIES. Those other things might be interesting... but you can not tell me WILD SWIMMING PIGGIES are not awesome. When I started my search for this culture's cuisine, I located a Bahamas catering/cafe in Washington DC that I was hoping that was still open for this one, but they were not answering the phone. I think they closed. I had really wanted to try the conch meat (from those giant shells on the beach) because my father gave me one from a trip to the Caribbean that sat on my dresser for several years. I never knew there was meat inside those things. There were some other restaurants in the Richmond area that had conch on their menu online, but those two were both closed (or just decided not to answer the white girl's phone call) as well, so I'm putting the search for conch meat on hold for now. But I will find you and I WILL EAT YOU. Instead, I turned to some recipes I thought would be a little easier (not being able to fry/saute things while going through the Caribbean recipes is ending up a bit of a hassle.. damn, my cooking ability or lack thereof). But after doing some research I found that Bahamas cooking wasn't that hard actually. The cuisine is an eclectic combination of southern American (think cornbread, peas, and rice) and Caribbean (think spicy seafood) styles. I made baked Johnnycake (this is pretty much a staple anywhere in the Caribbean, but unlike the rest of the islands, Johnnycake in the Bahamas is BAKED not FRIED... so points for them from this really bad chef over here). I found some mango/guava/passion fruit jam to put on top of it after going to several stores (weird jam is apparently hard to find around here). So the Johnnycake takes a bit like sweet cornbread, and was not named after Johnny Depp, as my research has pointed out. Next was the main dish-- Bahamian Mac and Cheese Pie. I am all for places that like their Mac and Cheese and apparently considering the English occupation of the Caribbean, it's pretty popular over there. Only they make it like a dense pie, almost like baked ziti, but with a lot of spices and vegetables and peppers from the Caribbean side of things. I was supposed to put habanero peppers in there, but after tasting them I had an incident where I needed to down every ounce of milk in my fridge as my eyes watered and I laid on the floor going, "Make the pain stop! Habaner-NO! Habaner-NO!" I don't do spicy things. But I'm gonna do that conch. Someday... I will find you. Bahamian Johnny Cake Recipe: Recipe Here! Bahamian Mac and Cheese Pie: Recipe Here! ✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿ And now for something completely different... a quick poem by yours truly...  I WISH I WAS IN THE BAHAMAS I wish I was in the Bahamas, far away from these melodramas, where I could lie down upon the sand and listen to a good steel drum band. I could watch the little piggies swim, go diving among them on a whim. I'd play all day with them in the sea, then sleep under a coconut tree. I'd visit dolphins at Blue Lagoon, and dance on the beach under the moon. There would be beachcombing and caving-- in all my photos I'd be waving. At Island Luck Casino I'd win big and eat until they called me a pig. I'd see Lucayan National Park and hike until it was almost dark. But this eden's vacation must wait-- for another year, another date. For today, I'll try to keep going until this life's ill winds stop blowing.

Aarón Sánchez (born February 12, 1976) is an American award-winning celebrity chef, restaurateur, television personality, cookbook author and philanthropist of Mexican descent. He is the executive chef and part-owner of the Mexican restaurant Johnny Sánchez in New Orleans. He co-starred on Food Network’s hit series Chopped and Chopped Jr. and hosted Cooking Channel's Emmy-nominated Taco Trip. He has appeared on Iron Chef America, and is one of the few chefs whose battles have ended in a draw, tying with Masaharu Morimoto in "Battle Black Bass" in Season 2. He was also a contestant on The Next Iron Chef. He is the author of two cookbooks, and has a memoir being released October 1, 2019.
An active philanthropist, Sánchez launched the Aarón Sánchez Scholarship Fund, an initiative empowering aspiring chefs from the Latin community to follow their dreams and attend culinary school. As of 2017, he is one of the judges/hosts of FOX’s hit reality-TV culinary competition series Masterchef U.S. since Season 8 onwards after previously guest-starring in a select number of episodes in Season 7 as a guest judge, co-hosting alongside Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich (Season 8 finale-present) and Christina Tosi (Season 8-Season 9 (guest judge, Episode 11)). He has also joined the judging panel of MasterChef Junior since its 7th season, which debuted in March 2019, after guest-starring in Season 5, which debuted early 2017.
Aarón and his twin brother Rodrigo, an attorney in New York City, were born in 1976, in El Paso, Texas, to Zarela Martinez, a restaurateur and the author of several cookbooks, and Adolfo Sanchez. He began cooking at an early age, helping his mother prepare traditional Mexican foods for her catering business. In 1984, the family moved to New York, and his mother launched the acclaimed Café Marimba, and Sánchez began to cook in a professional kitchen. At age 16, Sánchez's mother sent him to New Orleans to spend the summer working with Chef Paul Prudhomme. In 1994, Sánchez graduated from The Dwight School, and began to work full-time for Prudhomme in New Orleans. Aarón was married to singer Ife Mora from 2009 until 2012. He also has a son named Yuma. On episode 21 of MasterChef season 9, he revealed that his mentor was Jonathan Waxman
In 1996, after working under Prudhomme, Aarón returned north to study culinary arts at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.[5] In 1996, he returned to New York, and worked in the kitchen at Patria under nuevo-Latino chef, Douglas Rodriguez. Sánchez met his future business partner, Alex Garcia while working there.
Garcia left Patria in 1996 to open Erizo Latino, taking Sánchez to help open the restaurant. Reviews were positive, referring to the restaurant as "casual" and "earthy," and "the fare is enticingly wholesome, and the kitchen's best dishes make a fine introduction to the cooking of Central and South America." Sánchez then became executive chef at L-Ray, which specialized in foods from the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. This was followed by another executive chef position at Isla, a restaurant inspired by pre-Revolutionary Cuba. Sanchez then moved to San Francisco, working under Chef Reed Hearon at Rose Pistola.[8] Eamon Furlong hired Sánchez in 2000, to open Paladar, a pan-Latin restaurant on the Lower East Side. It opened in February 2001, and won Time Out New York's award for Best New Lower East Side Restaurant that year. It went on to be named the Best Latin American Restaurant in their 2002 Eating and Drinking Guide. Paladar had been reviewed as being "colorful, lively circus of a restaurant that’s equal parts serious cooking and serious partying," and was named a Critic's Pick by New York magazine. Sánchez sold his interest in the Paladar restaurant in 2010.
Sánchez went on to become chef of Mexican New York eatery Centrico, which closed in 2012.
He opened the restaurant Johnny Sánchez in Baltimore with fellow chef John Besh in August 2014. The Baltimore location closed in September 2017. The pair opened a second Johnny Sánchez location in October 2014 in New Orleans. As of February 2019, Besh is no longer a part of Johnny Sánchez; Aarón Sánchez and partners, Miles Landrem and Drew Mire, purchased and now own the restaurant. The three partners also are planning to develop a second restaurant in New Orleans, eyeing the Mid-City area, though the name and location have not been announced.  In 2017, he joined Masterchef US Season 8 as a judge alongside Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi, replacing Graham Elliot, to taste and help judge contestants' cooking and baking with Ramsay and Tosi in order to crown the next Masterchef. He is an expert in many cooking techniques and global cuisines, but his specialty of cooking traditional Mexican cuisine is often used throughout the season. In 2019, he guest-starred on the first episode of Gordon Ramsay's 24 Hours to Hell and Back season 2 as an extra expeditor, and revealed he lives nearby The Trolley Café in New Orleans.
Sánchez announced he will be releasing a memoir, "Where I Come From: Life Lessons From a Latino Chef," on October 1, 2019.

Bahamas Yacht charters
Tumblr media
There is no better place for a Bahamas Yacht Charter with a wide arching chain made up of 700 mostly uninhabited islands, cays, and outcroppings that extend from a mere 55 miles east of Miami to just 60 miles off the shore of Cuba. Covering over 100,000 square miles of ocean, they float like gems in a turquoise blue-green sea. They are graced with beautiful beaches of soft white and pink sand, abundant sunshine, myriad opportunities for diving, snorkeling and fishing and some of the friendliest people in the Caribbean. There is so much more to the Bahamas than Nassau. The Out Islands offer a quiet, remote charm that is truly unique. The best sailing and cruising area is The Abacos- the Bahamas' boating capital since colonial times. Whether you are a sailing purist or a power boater, for those on a Bahamas yacht charter, this area is truly a piece of heaven.

From Head to Toe
What kind of shampoo and conditioner do you use? My shampoo is Dove and my conditioner is a local brand. What's your favorite color and brand of eyeshadow? I don’t do eyeshadow. I don’t know the first thing about makeup so whenever someone puts eyeshadow on me I just tell them to go with whatever shade they think would suit me, and thankfully they’ve always made good judgment calls lol. Ever use tinted mascara? I don’t think so. Do you think liquid eyeliner is too much or just right? Man, there’s more to head to toe than just makeup :/ I love liquid eyeliner, it’s the only piece of makeup I was ever invested in and had several of at one point. Lipstick or lip gloss? Lip gloss. I find lipstick too bold and the few times I wore it didn’t feel right for me.
One cosmetic product you can't live without is: Couldn’t care less, honestly. What lotion would you want to have a lifetime supply of? Am not a lotion girl either. The only reason I constantly have lotion is because everyone gives them as gifts, so with me it’s like while I use lotion regularly, I don’t have a go-to brand because I have various kinds haha. Innie or outie? Am an innie. Where is your biggest birthmark? The one behind my left shoulder is the most noticeable one. Are your toenails painted? No, they aren’t. Are your feet ticklish? The back of my feet used to be but through the years other parts of my body have become more ticklish.
Yummy in the Tummy
What's your position on sushi? Love them. Love all seafood. With sushi, the more unfamiliar the fish the better – I always love trying out new kinds. I do think sashimi is a tad bit better though. What about mushrooms? I can’t call myself a mushroom connoisseur haha I know so little about them cause they aren’t really a part of our cuisine. Is truffle a kind of mushroom? I like that, but that’s about it for my mushroom appreciation. Spicy food? You’re not Asian if you can’t handle spicy food and we’ve all been raised to enjoy them. I know only a handful of people who don’t like spicy food, but they’re picky enough eaters as it is so they don’t really count. Johnny Depp is taking you out! What restaurant do you choose? Idk, I’ll let him take me wherever he wants to eat. He deserves that after the shitfest that was Amber Heard. Favorite drink to order at the bar? Like I said in a previous survey, I’ll flock to the Long Island Iced Tea if they have it on the menu. I forgot my back-up whether it’s Screw Driver or Cosmopolitan, but it’s def one of those. For cheaper, more relaxed bars, I’d get a Zombie. Favorite wine? Hate wine. Favorite beer? I hate beer for the most part but we had had to cross paths in the past because some bars I’ve been to only served beer, blech. That said, I found myself enjoying Red Horse the most, followed by Pale Pilsen.
Favorite drink to cool off with? Just good old ice-cold water. Favorite drink to sip by the fire? I don’t really do that. Favorite midnight snack? Mi Goreng instant noodles. What's a food both you and your animal companion enjoy? Burgers. Filipino dogs or askals are accustomed to eating human food with no negative consequences because it’s how they’ve always gotten by, living on the streets; and since my dog is part askal he also loves his human food and started shunning dog food at a super early age.
Favorite snack when you're watching rented movies? I don’t rent movies but uhhhh I like having Potato Corner with me when I’m watching in the cinema, but I don’t typically eat anything if I’m only watching from home. What do you cook well? Nothing. Favorite food at a BBQ? Thanks, Tumblr; today I learned BBQ can refer to an event. Haha seriously though, I just learned that now because we don’t do that here.   Favorite soda when you were a kid? Always hated soda. Dessert you're craving right now? Red velvet cookie sandwiches sound so fucking good right now. Favorite fruit to put in a smoothie? It’s a big nope for me on smoothies, sir.
Good Times
Who do you know that gives the best hugs? Laurice. I don’t even have to think about this. She hugs everyone that enters Skywalk so she’s pretty much a master at the craft. Who took you on your most romantic date? I’ve only had dates with Gabie. Who do you know that can give a good back rub? I dunno. I’m ticklish, so I don’t like the idea of being massaged anywhere. I feel like I’d just flinch the second I feel someone’s hand on me. What's a song you and all your friends sing along with? Does it have to be sing? Super Bass is universally memorized as far as I know hahahaha. But if we’re going with sing, Edge of Glory is very well-loved too. When it's just you and the girls/guys, what movie do you put in? My friends and I don’t really do movie days/nights because we’re constantly busy with academics. The one time we watched a film, though, it was The Devil Wears Prada. Best party you ever threw? I’ve never thrown a party for myself. My best big party remains to be my 7th; my parents really pulled out all the stops for that and it’s still memorable for me until today. 7th birthdays are a bit of a big deal in Philippine tradition (I never really knew why lol) so my party was organized in a way an 18th birthday would be, but some parts were obviously tweaked to be fitting for a 7 year old – it was held at a ballroom in Makati Shang, my mom used plush flowers for my 7 roses, all the kids that were invited had to be in gowns, etc.
Who was with you on the coolest road trip ever? I haven’t had a cool road trip yet. The few road trips I’ve had with friends I was the sole driver, and I was always left feeling completely pooped at the end of the day -__- Who was with you on the coolest camping trip ever? I’ve never camped before. Who would you take with you on a luxury cruise? My girlfriend, but you knew that already. I suppose going on a cruise with my college friend group would be chaotic fun too haha. Who was with you the last time you got into trouble? I got in trouble in a PE class, so I was with my classmates. Who's got your back in a fight? The top three people I can think of are Gabie, Angela, and Andrew. Who makes you feel gorgeous on a bad day? Also my girlfriend. Who makes you laugh until you cough blood? That’s...graphic lmao, but I’d go with either Aya or Jum. Who would you take with you as a date to your sister's wedding? Again, Gabie. Name the first five friends that come to mind. ^ Her, Kate, Laurice, Andrew, Angela.
Hobbies and Interests
What keeps your mind and hands busy when you're not at work? If I don’t have to be doing any work you can usually find me lounging with my phone or laptop. What bars or clubs would we expect to find you at? Nothing you know. I typically go to the bars along the street where my university is since they’re close enough, it’s a lively and popular hub for college kids, and the drinks are cheap. I’ll sometimes go to BGC for drinks but that is extremely random; I probably go there twice or thrice a year. What magazines do you or would you subscribe to? Haven’t thought about magazines in a looong time. If you started a book club, what genre would you be covering? Anything nonfiction I suppose. The only time I’ll cover fiction is if a book is historical fiction. If you could be president of a club or organization, what would it be? My own org’s. I had the opportunity to be president this year but I passed up the chance since I didn’t want my senior year to become too hectic, especially since I was running for honors and I had joined another organization. I went for a certain vice presidency position instead. What causes would we see you protesting on behalf of? Anything to do with women’s rights, anything anti-Duterte or anti-Marcos, anything to support the working class if they are being abused. Do you like to shop for clothes by yourself or with friends? I like having a second opinion. Yoga at home or at the gym? No yoga. Where would you want to work, if you could? WWE.
Odds & Ends
Did you wish on the last shooting star you saw? That hasn’t happened in a very long time. I would though, just to feel like a kid again. Are you a fabulous host? I haven’t held the responsibility of being a host yet hahaha I’m too scared to start. I’d rather hand the job to my friends who I know can do an exponentially better job than I would. Why won't jeans ever go out of style? Because they aren’t limiting and are incredibly versatile – mom jeans, ripped jeans, bell bottoms, skinny jeans, what have you – so it’s been easy to have them adjust to whatever style is trendy any time, any decade. Is the truth really out there? Ugh, get out philosophy questions it is 3:07 AM. Assuming you ever have kids, what will you name your daughter? Your son? Olivia for a girl. Still clueless about boy names. Has anyone ever crossed oceans of time to find you? No? Admit it, you loved Dirty Dancing. I’ve never even seen it.
The Name Game
Who's the first friend you call when you wanna go out? Laurice or Angela, depending on who is free or what I wanna do – if it’s to have drinks I call Angela, if it’s to get a lunch at Area 2, Laurice. Who's the first friend you call when you wanna hang in for the night? I don’t do that. If I have plans to hang in the evening I have to have every detail mapped out – who I’ll be with, what we’ll do, whose house we’ll be staying at – days in advance because my mom is strict and because I’m Asian lmaooooo Who do you call when you're freaking out? Gabie, always. Only she knows how to calm me down. If Gabie’s the one I’m having issues with, I go to Angela. Who do you call to try something new with you? Anyone who’s down to try the new thing, honestly. Who do you call when you need bail money? Myyyyyyy dad, probs. My mom would kill me. Who would kick someone's ass for you? My girlfriend. Who would lie to keep you out of trouble? ANGELA. Sometimes when I’m at home I’ll get a text from her saying, “If my mom calls you, tell her I’m with you studying” even if she’s somewhere either drinking or hanging at Hans’ condo. I’ve pulled the same shit with her too whenever I’m at Gabie’s place. Who would make you go to the gym, even if you're too tired? I don’t think anyone would be able to pull that off. If I’m too tired already, don’t force me to do anything. Who would come take care of you if you were sick? Realistically my dad. But I wish Gab can do it, too. Who would help you host a posh dinner party? Jofab probably. The guy can cook. If we were any closer, I’d recruit him to make some damn good steak and pick out the music to play. I’d also ask Laurice to come up with the decor, since she’s good at that stuff. Who would help you clean your house before you had houseguests? Out of all the people I know, only my mom could make an area completely spotless. Who would enjoy watching Disney movies with you? Gabie. But really, how are you? I’m doing okay, but I really must head to bed after this survey lol. Did you make sure to get in some "you" time today? I’ve had tons of that this whole month. I gotta say I’ve been needing it and it feels really good. How many loved ones did you get to talk to today? I think 11? – four in my immediate family, my dog, my lola, Tito Rocky, Gab, Angela, Andrew, Leigh. Gonna treat yourself to something tonight? Sleep. What would you like to dream about tonight? I’m not hoping for anything but my recent dreams HAVE been part odd and part hilarious so I’m kinda excited to see what my mind has in store for tonight. Did anyone hurt your feelings today? Nope. Do you have a furry companion to cuddle up and read a book with tonight? I have a furry companion but he hates staying on beds, so I’m ruling out cuddling.
Before we part...
What's your name? Robyn. What's your sign? Zodiac? Taurus. Ever had Chicken Guadalahara? No, I’ve never even heard of it. Always willing to try, though. Daquaris or Margaritas? Margaritas, but only because I don’t think I’ve tried the first one before. Ceasar's or Bloody Mary's? Neither. I’ve never tried Ceasar’s and Bloody Mary is just so fucking nasty to me. Mexican food or Italian food? Italian. I very rarely crave Mexican, but Gab and I will often have dates at Mama Lou’s, our go-to Italian restaurant. Ocean, lake, or river? Ocean.
Cabin in the woods or beachfront home? Beachfront, for sure. I don’t think I could ever get tired of the beach/sea/ocean. Karaoke or dancing? Neither if I’m sober, both if I’m drunk. All or nothing? All.

Sometimes culture seems to divide us. Other people's incomprehensible food preferences can put a whole dinner table on edge, let alone muddy international relations. Consider the questions of whether ketchup belongs on eggs, raw meat on a menu, or MSG in a stir fry. Ok, maybe don't. We're not here to start any arguments. Consider instead how cultures meet over food in dances, dialogs, and unexpected synchronicities. Global exchanges of seeds and recipes have made eating what it is today, even when we're talking about your great grandpa's favorite meal from the old country. Does it include potatoes, tomatoes, pasta, cinnamon or olive oil? All ingredients deeply entrenched in specific food cultures today but originally from somewhere else. You get the idea. Or think of how exciting it is to eat fusion food, or even simply to shop at the farmers market for Long Island fish, Korean-style kimchi, Japanese eggplant, and French-style bread then bring them all home to produce a meal.
Beyond the enormous exchange of ingredients that underpins most of the dishes eaten around the world today, there's that "aha!" moment many of us have had when biting into an Indian dosa and realizing it's really kind of like Chinese mu shu pork, which always reminds us of burritos. It is unlikely that there was a Johnny Appleseed type traveling around, spreading the idea of wrapping one highly seasoned thing in some other flat, bready-type thing. Much more likely is that each of these dishes represents one of hundreds of "eureka!" moments in far flung kitchens over cooking's long history. Again and again, cooks and eaters realized that filling some sort of wrapper with food made a tasty, tidy, and portable meal.
Stew is another multi-cultural meeting point. While history can tell us in very confident terms when stews first appeared in cookbooks around the world, the idea of attributing the invention of stew to one culture is obviously absurd. What cuisine does this recipe remind you of: take a potful of ingredients - whatever you have on hand is fine - top it with liquid and boil until the mixture is cooked, soft and thickened. Serve hot. Granted, it won't get anyone's mouth watering, but it is a description of how stew is made everywhere, whether you call that stew chili, curry, Irish, bouillabaisse or tagine. Stew is a particularly good end of winter recipe because it turns the odds and ends in a winter pantry into something appealing. The less tender cuts of meat reach their glory in a slow cooked stew, along with beans and root vegetables. But take this recipe of necessity and culinary invention wherever you want it to go: fish, cream and napa cabbage; chicken, sweet potatoes and aromatic spices; or pork, turnips and apples. Or, if the cold and damp are getting into your bones, warm up with our classic beef stew recipe below.

Hey!Say!JUMP 2019-2020 Calendar 100 Q&A: Yamada Ryosuke
I already posted these on twitter, but posting them here so they are all in one place.  Still haven’t proofread the document. Hopefully there aren’t too many errors.
Recent hobby? - To steep myself in games. I've been playing RPG games.

Top 3 favorite animals? - 1: dog, 2: sloth, 3: monkey. There are 2 dogs at my parents’ place. Sloths I've liked for a while. Although I'd like to keep one, it's impossible to have a tropical animal (lol). Maybe I like these types of “relaxed” animals.
Shower guy? Bath guy? - Shower.
Source of energy? - Food!
Describe a moment when your excitement level is high? - During live concerts, the moment when I see the audience from the stage. “It's so great that I'm working in this job” will pop into my head, it's the happiest moment in my life.

If 100 points is the perfect score, how many points are you? - Around 50 points. When I need to get to 100%, I will go at it with all my might, but when I’m unwinding, I will use close to 0% of energy to unwind.
What are you addicted to? - Cleaning. Although I love cleanliness, when people come over for dinner and spilled stuff, I also don’t care. That’s because I love to put away the mess. However, I hate having dirty stuff lying around, so when everyone’s relaxing, I’ll start vacuuming. Perhaps I’m an annoying host (lol).
Do you have a collection of things? - No.
In 2019, what wish do you want to come true? - I want to have a live tour. I think I definitely want to have 1 tour each year. Privately, I want to go overseas for vacation.
What do you think you'll be like in 10 years? - I think I'll have a beard. I’ll probably appear in the “mature male roles” in dramas, won’t I? I can’t keep going on as the present “Yamada Ryosuke” without changing, you know.
What is Hey!Say!JUMP missing (not have enough of) right now? - Composure.
What’s your go to song at karaoke? - JUJU-san’s “Kiseki wo Nozomu Nara…” (If you want a miracle…”
A memory of karaoke-ing with a member? - There was a time when I went to karaoke with Chinen or someone almost every day and we will compete for the most points. I was very happy when I got my highest point of 96.8.
What is your role in the group? - No matter when, I am usually the first one to speak.  Since the members also wait for me to speak, and the staff-san will ask me questions first, I ended up with this role.
What advice will you give to yourself at debut? - “Your face is going to change, you know! It’ll become a little thinner.”
What is the most memorable thing during the “Heisei” era? - Being part of a group called Hey!Say!JUMP.
What moment did you feel that you have become an adult? - When I stopped being angry [easily].
Tell me Chinen’s weakness! - Knit.
Tell me Nakajima’s weakness! - Dirty things. (Literal meaning.)
Tell me Arioka’s weakness! - Belly button. He hates it when people touch it.
Tell me Takaki’s weakness! - He can’t handle high calorie foods.
Tell me Inoo’s weakness! - Exercise.
Tell me Yaotome’s weakness! - He can’t remember anything.
Tell me Yabu’s weakness! - Tomato.
Tell me Chinen’s allure! - There are so many. He’s a genius. He face the world as a guy who can do do anything and has a very good understanding of himself, which is very good.
Tell me Nakajima’s allure! - He can do anything. He is high-spec (top notch), but he is also hardworking.
Tell me Arioka’s allure! - He’s a positive, bright person. You’ll feel happy just being together with him.
Tell me Takaki’s allure! - Very gentle. Comparing to before, he has a great love for JUMP, he kept talking about “JUMP, JUMP” wherever he goes.
Tell me Inoo’s allure! - Talk power. He honed those skills through “Mezamashi TV”. It feels very comforting to go on location shoots with him in the variety programs.
Tell me Yaotome’s allure! - His “ojisan-like” personality. He can take a nap wherever he goes. There are moments when that side of him will shine spectacularly as an item (special feature?) of JUMP, so in that sense, he is very reliable.
Tell me Yabu’s allure! - Although he is the oldest, he doesn’t act like “I need to get a hold of myself” a lot. Because of that, the people who are younger than him can feel at ease.  Because we have Yabu-chan, we are able to things confidently, he is truly a reliable bigger brother.
Send a message to Okamoto Keito! - Keito, when are you coming back? How is winter in New York? It’s probably very cold, right? I want to tell you about the live tour, and I also want to hear about your New York life!

How Did Childhood in Georgia Feel?
As per Taylor Studniski, whether you were born in Georgia or were raised there, chances are you've been asked multiple times about growing up in this southern state. Whether you're a first-generation college student or an experienced adult, here are some things you may not have known. Whether you were up in a city or on a plantation, Georgia has something to offer everyone.
One of the most popular books on the state is "Georgia: The Unknown South." Clay Claycomb was reared in the notoriously untamed Liberty County, Georgia. It was on the coast, next to a military outpost, with a beautiful beachfront. As a young youngster, he was fascinated by his surroundings and was destined to become a sheriff. The author reflects on her upbringing in this part of the state.
Anyone from Georgia who has visited the state's beaches is likely to have fond memories. Barrier islands, which provide spectacular beaches and rivers in addition to a rich culture and stunning natural surroundings, are generally ignored. As a result, if you've ever gone to Georgia, you might find the wealth of information and services provided here useful. Just be careful to ask your parents for help if you need it. Despite the well-deserved reputation of the state as being expensive, you'll always get more for your money.
Taylor Studniski described that, if you're looking for a cheap property in the metropolis, it can be a good idea to explore outside of the big city for a bit. If you want to benefit from Georgia's soaring real estate appreciation rates, you may consider moving to a neighboring city like Columbus. In Dublin, it is also against the law to wear hoodies in public. The state ranks 19th in the nation for the price of homeowners insurance.
Along with great weather, Atlanta has a ton of family-friendly attractions. Nearby attractions include parks, zoos, aquariums, concerts, and more. Children can choose between the Atlanta Public School System and the Fulton County School System. Atlanta has some excellent public schools, like Walton High School and the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, if you have children. Along with public schools, there are a number of independent ones.
Johnny Cash was born in Savannah, Georgia. In a Model T car, his father drove to Savannah for business. Burnside Island, which was close to Back River and later changed its name to Moon River in recognition of one of his well-known songs, was home to the family. Before the Civil War, he was raised on Vernon View on Burnside Island, a community of black people and descendants of slaves, where the family regularly escaped the heat of Savannah. Black families and others with African ancestry lived there and spoke a Geechee dialect unique to Georgia's lowlands.
In Taylor Studniski’s opinion, if you're thinking about moving to Georgia, bear in mind that living costs there are lower than the national average. Depending on the area, housing in Georgia may be obtained at affordable costs and can accommodate any lifestyle. One of the most affordable places to live in the nation, the average cost of a home in the state is really just under $200,000. Although the average price is still fairly low, Georgia real estate prices have been gradually increasing each year.
Georgia offers a variety of interesting activities for both adults and children. Georgia is a great place for families to reside since it is a state that values families a lot. Zoos and theme parks are regularly visited by kids. You might also start a great excursion at Stone Mountain. Although there are some extremely hot summers, Georgia has nice, sunny summers.
The state is also known for its friendly neighborhoods, delicious cuisine, and vibrant sports scene. In addition to its nice, sunny climate, Georgia also features beautiful mountains and a lot of open space. However, the situation is totally different when it comes to its clogged cities and terrible traffic. Despite all these benefits, Georgia has a lot to offer. If you weigh these benefits and drawbacks, it will become clear why people are relocating to Georgia.

The local government and their habitats are in a very welcome mood to this year too. The grand scale shows are planned to be domestic too. As they already did Arafes in National Stadium they plan to something as big as the last 5 year ago. Since Kokuritsu was demolished in 2014, a stadium tour like Hitombore in 2015 is in the agency mind. Some other reporters, another Pikanchi is under recording.
