I'm glad that almost all of the pages done while that back injury was still making my life a painful and sleepless/restless hell have been mostly posted now. Thre's some stuff I didn't like how the initial drawing came out for that, in a normal situation, would have just been a (quick fix), but I was so uncomfortable/in pain and slowed down to such an absolute snail that every single thing became a "Well that's good enough"
Anywho, back injuries really Suck. Going forward, due to how much time I lost with said back injury and another "out of my control" event that set me back during my buffer's run, I'm likely going to adjust the coloring technique on Soli. The coloring technique I've been using, when not injured and not being blindsided by a majorly stressful event, is one I chose due to it being a comfortable, quick painting style that I'd use for concept work. It's the style I work in most naturally and fast since for many things I'd just forgo the drawing stage at all, but it does require me being able to work without pain or without numerous unplanned interruptions.
So, with my buffer practically gone and having lost a year to Snail Mode on the waves of that back injury, I'm going to likely adjust things to a looser version. As in, "there's a imddle point when I'm working where I enjoy how things look. In order to catch back up to where I was and want to be, I think I'm going to just use that stage to my advantage."
Did I say back injuries suck? They really suck. Grateful that it's finally better now, but shaking my fist at the damage it did and all the other little instances butting infront of me and getting in my way. The ol' "CAN THINGS STOP HAPPENING??" plea lol.
Anyway this is just a ramble serving as a heads up for "chapter 3 may look a little different, because the number 1 way to make sure I'll circumvent something's bullshit is to Make it Happen Anyway and I've got catching up to do."

yuuta exhibits such previously abandoned, recently adopted dog behavior. incredibly anxious all the time, even though nobody’s out to get him or leave him behind. waits for you to return home or from school or from work excitedly, just to see you when you walk through the door. follows you around senselessly, hovering in your space just for the sake of companionship. initiates affection in prodding ways—starts off next to you, then a hand on your thigh, then deems it safe to lay all the way down, then slowly pushes his head into your lap. gets up whenever you need to get up, and resumes his position as soon as you’re ready. brings you gifts as a sign that he’s thinking of you, and maybe because he likes the affection it brings out in you, maybe because he likes the gentle affirming touches of a hand in his hair or a pinch to his cheek. rests his head on your stomach or his chin on your shoulder when he’s sleepy, stays there, immobile, and will not move unless absolutely necessary. sometimes he gets surprised when he hears you calling for him, there’s a moment of disbelief as he thinks “me? really? you need me?” but it’s very quickly overshadowed by this compulsive need to show up, to please, to do anything for you, which is why he always answers when you call. he doesn’t realize that he has puppygod eyes, especially when he’s excited or confused, but he does and it’s incredible endearing. very reluctant to share your space or attention after a while, considers that to be sacred and he won’t risk being let go or lost again, so as a safety precaution, he keeps himself right by you, waits for you always.

not for anything but friendly reminder that ~fandom discourse~ about where women belong (or people you perceive as women) is misogynistic as fuck. or what they're allowed to say, or what they're allowed to write about, or what they're allowed to enjoy.
next time you see someone having a tantrum and vaguing, especially if their posts from week to week completely contradict each other, perhaps analyze if the common denominator is "a gross woman said something and now i'm mad" without otherwise adhering to any actual principles.

yes this is a natural series of events when you've worked at the same place for over a year and it also happens to have RIDICULOUSLY quick turnover where very few people wind up staying on consistently, but ive become one of the Experienced Waitresses That Knows What They're Doing at my job and we very suddenly have a lot of New Teenagers That Have Never Done This Before and it's just. insane to me. bc when i started my job i was SO intimidated like it truly is a big very fast-paced place where everyone has to pull their weight (ie you need to be able to do the coffee station and work the floor and run food and help on bar) and the customers are particularly wankerish so the more Experienced Staff that had been there for a while were like mini gods to me. like truly i thought they were so cool and smart and unbothered and now that's me. i have a gaggle of 17 year olds constantly asking me how to do things and I KNOW THE ANSWER. on a government wage no less

hate how webtoon advertises things. apparently they’ve gotten here u are on there and I just saw a little tagline on it that was like. “softboy meets seriousboy” like. I read here u are years ago and I’m not particularly obsessed with it but man… what a reductive way of describing those characters. yuyang in particular being described as “soft” irks me in particular considering how people treat him in the world of here u are…
(also it’s like. the comic was originally in chinese but this translation has opted to use the korean names from presumably a korean localization / translation of the comic which really throws me off but. deep sigh)
