Riight, as usual, I am a little late but happy second birthday, Ren!

I may not yell about her as much as I do other beebs, and that's partially by design; Ren's always been elusive, hard to pin down, hard to understand. And I genuinely do think that the marriage between the concept of 'Krytan lesbian mesmer' (thank you Kasmeer!) and the inspiration graciously provided by DAI's Iron Bull granted some of the most fun character explorations to date. I will forever be glad I ditched the old warrior Ren in favor of this new, upgraded one that just sits in my brain office, dresses very prettily and speaks very insightfully when she has something to say.

watched secret world of arrietty potentially my new favorite ghibli movie... not potentially i think it legit is

I had the funniest dream last night that there was a new episode specifically for s2 of H2O. It was just a revamp of season 1 episode 10 the camera never lies but Rikki and Zane teamed up to film something underwater at Mako Island. Rikki was the camerawoman and Zane was the actor (as you do when mermaids are involved).

Filming went well, there were no sharks, and Zane had the money to buy a bunch of cool stuff for filming underwater including breathing tubes and air pumps to explain how the camerawoman could stay underwater for so long (the show just used their actual versions of them because I mean. They had them. At the very least they had them for the scene where Zane sinks in the Lorelei. I don't see why they wouldn't still use them for some s2 shots).

But when they finally got back and were watching the footage they were like oh shit. They can't show this because Cleo Emma and Lewis are going to realize what they did, and they're going to realize they're dating and that Zane knows about Rikki.

So it ended up becoming a hot potato game of passing the footage between each other until Nate got his hands on it and entered it into the competition for himself. So that gave Zane and Rikki a bit of an out because Zane could just say Nate was filming him, but Rikki is upset because she put a lot of work into the film and now she's not getting credit for it. Especially since last year essentially the same thing happened where she made a film and couldn't use or get credit for her work.

Zane ended up forfeiting the submission because of it and shrugs it off when Rikki is like why would you do that, you totally would have won again, it was leagues better than everyone else's. And Zane was like. Yeah. Exactly. You wouldn't have gotten the credit for it, and I don't want to win if it isn't with you.

So, totally unrelated note, I think I just came up with a new filler episode for my H2O fic.

#Cuz it IS an annual competition... I'm just saying... #The A plot being that Lewis has to work with either Charlotte or Cleo and Emma for the film this year #So it's Emma and Cleo vs Charlotte and Lewis #And while Charlotte is very artsy and Lewis has a history of winning... Charlotte can also be very bossy and controlling #So she tries to take full control of the project and tell Lewis what to do so he's basically just doing the work for her #And he has to sit her down and be like 'Charlotte. I teamed up with you because I wanted to work together. This isn't that.' #I love her but she can be very controlling. I know it because I can be that way too #So can Emma btw but the show doesn't treat Emma as terribly as it treats Charlotte 🤔🤔 it treats Emma as quirky and Charlotte as evil #Anyway I personally think Charlotte and Lewis winning the competition after they work out the issues in production would be really cute #Listen. Charlotte might spiral by the end of actual season 2. But I'm going to fix her. She's going to get a redemption arc. I'm not #Going to treat her like trash like the actual writers did solely because they needed an antagonist. It's not fair to her #H2O au #Cruddy rambles #This is going to be my replacement for Hocus Pocus because I consider Hocus Pocus to be non canon #I also think comparing Emma's actions in s1 vs her actions in s2 vs Charlotte's would be a good way to show the reader hey. Charlotte isnt #Actually a horrible terrible no good villain. She has flaws just like the other girls but she's also a decent person when they're not #Constantly being highlighted by the writers to make her out to be an irredeemable antagonist #Also every episode in H2O has to feature at least like 5 minutes of merm. Well I have that with the part I had a dream about so it's perfect #Tho I wouldn't be opposed to there being a bit in the middle where Lewis transforms and has to run off from Charlotte who freaks out #And that's what prompts their talk about her fully taking over the project and smothering all of Lewis's ideas/suggestions #It's very much a reflection of how she is when planning his birthday party but you know we are going to approach this less in the context of #'She's an irredeemable villain' and more in the context of ''she's a teenager with flaws'' #Because that is way more reasonable and hey... If it ends up having a butterfly effect on how she acts later on in the season... Well... ;)

AU in which Nyra isn't a commander or otherwise in a position of power simply does not exist. One of the core things to her is that her rise to power is not underlined by some grandiose plans her family had for her, although they were there to an extent - it's Nyra herself.

Somewhat pretentiously, she's had a dream of going down in history since she was a teen. She's one of those people who are aware of themselves from an early age. In an old drabble I wrote that I cannot find for the life of me, she gets all annoyed because her grandfather's getting more attention than her. If I may be permitted to quote my own writing, here's a similar sentiment she expresses at the age of 10:

She doesn’t feel like Lady Ainsaph, either. That’s what she’s introduced as and that’s what adults use to refer to her. It’s too general, too similar to her mom and sister. Every time she hears it, she swears she feels something in her chest tighten and release.

Her being a descendant of Ascalonian royals/Ainsaphs/Doric has nothing to do with her innate desire to be in charge and her ambition. She just had an easier start at it because of her good breeding. She would've gone to defend Shaemoor and do all the things she did anyway.

Funnily enough, her family's earlier draft was something along the lines of what you mention in the ask - newly minted nobles, given titles for their services to the crown of Kryta. There were no grand origins. Later I discarded that idea in favor of this one, because I wanted to write a story about someone who isn't really an underdog (that one belongs to some other OCs of mine, particularly Ren) but also is very good at what they do and did great things because of that, not because they come from a good lineage that's god-blessed to be charge, if that makes sense?

Tl;dr there is no version in which she's not the Commander. Her only other AU, the Exile one, also has her be a commander of her country's armies (plus an actual demon lmao girlie has horns and had wings there)

a/n: idk if y’all can tell but i visited Tokyo, Japan not so long ago and absolutely fell in love with it. it was such a beautiful experience and I hope that if you ever do go, you have fun too. please don’t skip out on it and make time to visit it if you can! this may be a little specific but i know this is self-indulgent. please let me know what you think of it !!!

team planets! i see him liking how artsy and pretty it is. he loves seeing you enjoy the different exhibits and takes so many pictures of you there. he whines when he has to take off his shoes for the water experience part (which is so beautiful btw). he whines because he knows you’re gonna tell him to “put his damn dogs away”. i think his favorite part of the flower room because he loves how you look among all the flowers. Says some corny ass shit like “yeah, they’re pretty but not prettier than you.”

Tokyo Disneyland! He is a total nerd so he would love this place. He makes you get up super duper early and rewards you with coffee (tullys tho omggg). You guys arrived early enough and are there for rope drop. He even dresses up all nice for the day. He buys the both of you matching character hats. He totally insists on porky and slinky hats (he begs to be porky so you let him). He loves getting on all the ride but his favorite was beauty and the beast. he loves the attention to detail. he even gives you a little kiss while the ending scene is happing and def makes you blush. Don’t even get him started on the parades. He watches every single one of them. Especially the last light show. He holds you close to his side and wraps his jacket around you. The whole moment just feels so sweet and romantic and he lives for it.

harajuku enjoyer for sure. he loves all of the clothing shops, shoe stores and everything else. He for sure goes into all of the stores and tries on a million things and has you give your opinion. Don’t worry, after all of that shopping, he’ll make sure to get you a treat! He’ll fill you both up on Okinawa ice cream, cheesy 10 yen coins and plenty of coffee!! I feel like he’d also take you to music stores. You both comb through the many floors of Tower Records and find your favorite albums. Also..what’s harajuku without a photo booth session :)) he makes you take one of those silly ones that make you look like a doll. Silly gyu

sensō-ji! I feel like he really appreciative of older places and places that make for pretty pictures. he def makes you both put on kimonos for the whole experience (don’t be like me and def watch your step when walking in these narrow shops…aka: don’t skip down the stairs 😜) he loves the whole touristy vibe and he hopes you do to. He obviously also stops at all the food stalls and buys you and him treats to try. HE also takes a pretty picture with you in front of the temple…one where he even kisses your cheek. He is in that good of a mood omg. You two also do fortunes at the temple and you both get bad luck :(((( sorry I don’t make the rules

huening kai

snoopy museum for sure. Yeah ik this place is technically in yokohama but like…idc :) anyways, huening gives snoopy lover vibes so he would def love to bring you here. he loves looking at all of memorabilia with you and if you’re a snoopy enthusiast also, he asks you questions and makes comments. he def begs you to take a pic with him by the giant snoopy in the middle of the room. he keeps it in his wallet forever. he also loves the stuffed snoopies so you get matching ones!

I know I only post art here but for future reference here are some Stardew Valley headcanons:

Sebastian and Maru actually have a good relationship because their parents shortcomings aren't their shortcomings, in fact Maru looks up to Seby a lot because he's an introvert like her but managed to have a tight friend group

Leah and Haley get lost in conversations about lighting and composition. When Leah arrived in town they didn't care for each other at first but ended up bonding over their artsy interests. Haley lets Leah use her dark room to do experiments, and secretly thinks she's effortlessly very cool

Maru doesn't really hang out with the others but Abigail saw her out of her nurse attire while visiting Sebastian and started being interested in her. Maru also noticed her and contrary to popular belief she's the one who started flirting first

Elliott loves to surprise Leah with stunning vegetarian charcuterie boards, they actually plan little pic nic dates around it, she brings the wine and they spend the evening on the lake dock

Harvey and Emily kind of fuss over Shane and his wellbeing, and he pretends to hate it but he's secretly very grateful for their friendship and sometimes feels like they (and the farmer lol) are the only people who didn't give up on him. Emily in particular likes to make dark jokes about his situation and she's the only one who gets the pass from Shane for it.

Sebastian spent years pining HARD after Sam and at some point he thought he was just envious of how easily he bonded with people and was liked by everyone.

Sam is very physical, he gives the biggest hugs to everyone but he specifically loves to push Sebastian's buttons to the limit. Actually, Sam has a hidden kind of sadistic side to him when it comes to sabotaging Lewis' plans and flustering Seby.

Penny is NOT a girl's girl, but she kind of gets dragged along to plans with the gals because ohana means family and not even the Pick Me© girl gets left behind

Emily managed to make Harvey try *magic* mushrooms once. He enjoyed the experience despite having tremendous anxiety about the whole thing, he found it scientifically interesting. He wouldn't do it again tho

Alex was so sure he had the biggest crush on Haley for all his teen years but in reality he just admired her femininity and her style. Haley didn't reciprocate but liked the attention because he actually never made a move towards her, so they had this comfortable situation that fit society standards. They started having an honest friendship only after Alex's coming out

Emily is the biggest fan of the Goblin Destroyers and she offers to sew special merch for them. Sam, Seb and Abby are so grateful for her support
