Yunho sighed out of releaf, as his taxi finally dropped him off at your shared apartment. He's been gone on a two day business trip and needed to be blessed in your presence. It was very early in the morning, so you'd probably be sleeping, so he took extra care in opening the front door quietly. As he stood in the entryway with his suitcase, he heard small footsteps padding over, but what he saw shook him to his core. Omg omg okay going off the top of my head here so I’m sure I’m missing so many iconic moments and this list would be entirely different at any other moment in time but let’s go!!! In no particular order:

ooh here’s a REALLY useless one. gottmik, jada shada hudson, etcetera etcetera, krystal versace, jaida essence hall, and daya betty (and probably more i’m missing) all have rumix verses where they mention a snatched/cinched/tiny waist.

speaking of jiggly, she and mariah balenciaga are two queens that have censored mirror messages ! jiggly, as a trans woman, wrote a mirror message about paying for trans surgery in season 4, which was censored in the edit. and then of course you have mariah’s iconic “congratulations raja” mirror message - many, many episodes before raja would actually be crowned the winner of season 3.

shea couleé is the only queen to my knowledge to enter the werkroom first, twice. (on as5 and as7.) the vivienne and bebe zahara benet have both entered last twice. unless. unless you count raven as entering last on as7 but who would count raven in anyrhing ever

i forget if bianca del rio, envy peru or la diamond has the best track record out of all the winners, but it’s one of ‘em. think it depends on who you ask. i think it’s agreed that priyanka has the worst though 🥲

in the infinite list of rugirls, acid betty is first alphabetically, and yvie oddly is last.

bebe, tyra, raja, aquaria, chad, and the vivienne all won after entering the workroom last. trixie, shea, lawrence chaney, danny beard, and priyanka all won after entering first (bianca entered first in her premiere group, so she kind of counts ?)

Happy All Stars season to those who celebrate, and welcome to the legendary legend edition of the Drag Race newsletter. ICYMI, not one but two (!!!) episodes of the all-winners season dropped on Paramount+ this past Friday, so let’s not waste any time before getting into it!

The Entrances

The first Queen through the door most certainly needs no introduction, it’s Chicago’s own Shea Couleé! Now, can someone tell Elle Woods that orange really *is* the new pink? 🧡

Yup, it’s Jaida, The Essence of Beauty and she’s stepping out of her (Zoom) box and back into the Werk Room! Ms. Essence Hall gave us a cute call back to her Season 12 entrance line, and served up what I’m assuming is a very expensive head-to-toe stoned jumpsuit for her return. 😍

Season 11 crowned Queen Yvie Oddly is backbend, backbend, back again! Always putting the LEG in legendary, Yvie’s entrance is quintessentially queerdo and we’re so here for it.

The body is back, and Trinity The Tuck looks SO right in this eye-catching combo of purple and neon yellow. Don’t even get me started on that MUG because it is flaw 👏 less 👏

They *also* say “more [Monét], more problems” but that couldn’t be less true! Monét X Change has been booked and busy since her run on Season 10, and continues to raise the bar for herself.

With her one-word entrance line, our Season 5 winner makes her return in TRUE Jinkx Monsoon fashion. Clearly referencing her original entrance, her look is a glowed-up version of the one she was wearing when she first graced our television screens back in 2013.

OG fashion queen, legend, icon, et. al Raja didn’t have an entrance line way back in Season 3, which makes her All Stars 7 entrance THAT much better. From her incredible upcycled lewk to her self-referential entrance line, this bitch did not come to play!

Drag Race UK Season 1 winner The Vivienne is bringing her signature Liverpool drag (and humor!) to Hollywood. Viv’s entrance lewk is tailored to perfection, and definitely made us a little horny at home… 😉

The Episode(s)

Once the dolls (and our fave first alternate-turned-Emmy winner Raven) enter the Werk Room, Mama Ru stops by to let the girls know the gag of the season – no one’s going home! It’s pageant rules from here on out, and in the end, the queens who snatch the most Legendary Legend stars will face off in a lip sync smackdown for the title of Queen of all Queens.

Of course, an All Stars premiere just wouldn’t be the same without a little sisterly shade. Between Raja ending the girls with just six letters and Jinx calling her “Roger” in return, this reading challenge didn’t disappoint.

All Stars 7 Reading Challenge 📚 RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars

When we said legendary, we meant legendary. The Queens are then whisked away to the main stage where they are met with a surprise appearance by Naomi Campbell. She critiques each of their runway walks, and shares a special moment with Shea Couleé, who has looked up to her for as long as she can remember. I don’t know about y’all, but I’m with Shea. If I had a moment like *that* with my idol, I too would want it caught in 4K so I could flex that sh*t for the rest of my LIFE!

Later, it’s time for the main stage and the judges are joined by “Charlie’s Angel” herself, Cameron Diaz! She introduces Mama Ru, who then stunts on the girls with a performance of her song “Just What They Want.” Go girl, give us EVERYTHING! Next up, it’s time for our winners to show off the original verses they wrote for “Legends.” Their outfits may have been clashing, but the performance overall gets a 10 from me!

The Queens Of All Stars 7 Perform “Legends” ⭐️🎶 RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars

Category on the runway is: I’m Crowning! The eight legends competing for the title serve up their best crowned lewks. There wasn’t a single boot in sight, but my personal top toots of the week have got to be Raja, Trinity The Tuck, and Shea Couleé.

Auntie Raja has been critiquing the girls on Fashion Photo Ruview, so of COURSE she has to serve us a shoot straight out of the gate. This Louis XIV-inspired lewk was designed from the shoe up and gives all the Season 3 feels with its similarity to her classic Marie Antoinette runway.

We all know Trinity The Tuck is a pageant girl through and through. With what is bound to be the longest train to ever hit the runway, this lewk is Trinity at her BEST.

Shea Couleé always comes to slay, but her crowned queen eleganza is on a whole other level. Shea stomped the runway in a piece from the Valentino A/W 2019 collection, marking the first time Haute Couture has been displayed on the main stage. 🤯 The lewk was styled to perfection with custom ear prosthetics and crowned with a sculpture of handcrafted braids.

After the runway, Mama Ru names Monét X Change and Shea Couleé the top two All Stars of the week! Each of them snatches a Legendary Legend star, and they prepare to battle for the power to block one of their competitors. This is no ordinary club hit lip sync, however. As every E-I-E-I-O of Ella Fitzgerald’s rendition of “Old MacDonald” plays, it becomes clear this lip sync is herstory in the making. Ultimately, Shea Couleé snatches the cash tip and uses the power of the platinum plunger to block Trinity The Tuck from securing a badge next week. 😱

Double The Snatch, Double The Fun

Following in the footsteps of All Stars 2, it’s already time to play the Snatch Game! The queens are tasked with coming up with two different characters, resulting in 16 legendary snatches. Before we get into Jinkx Monsoon and Trinity’s snatch-stealing performances, we *have* to talk about Raja’s transformations into Madame and prolific fashion editor Diana Vreeland. The artistry on display was simply NEXT-LEVEL and frankly none of us are worthy.

Giving us the yassified Satan we didn’t know we needed, Trinity The Tuck proved once again why she is a comedic force to be reckoned with. Her Luci(fer) was completely realized, and had such fun back-and-forths with Ru, Michelle, and Ross. Trinity kept the momentum in the second game by going for “Miss Baby Wipes” herself, Leslie Jordan. Her best moment came when Jinkx (as Judy Garland) sang the Drag Race theme song, and Trinity chimed in “they changed it to drag queen.” 😂

One of the most iconic Snatch Games in herstory is Jinkx’s performance as Little Edie, so I’m sure coming back for another snatch was no easy feat. That said, Jinkx only added to her legacy with her spot-on portrayals in the All Stars 7 Snatch Game. After giving us the full Natasha Lyonne experience in the first round, it’s Jinkx’s Judy Garland that’ll go down in herstory. From the mannerisms to the never-ending microphone cord, there’s no convincing me the spirit of Judy wasn’t with Jinkx on this day. Every word out of her mouth was perfection, but nothing can top Jinkx absolving her Season 5 makeover challenge partner of Judy’s death. 😭

On the runway, the category is: Pleather Principle! If these first two runways are any indicator, we’re in for a lot of jaw-dropping fashion this season. Of the pleather lewks, my favorites were definitely Monét X Change and Jaida Essence Hall.

Monét X Change turned it OUT in these first two episodes, and her pleather runway abs-olutely solidified her place as one to watch. Her rich brown pleather lewk is giving Kim Kardashian in Schiaparelli, and I can’t get enough of it.

Our Season 12 winner held her own in the Snatch Game, but the runway is where she REALLY shined this week. Paying homage to another fierce Jada, she served cyberpunk monochromatic realness in a crocodile crop, pleather pants, and a sleek trench coat.

In the lip sync, Trinity The Tuck and Jinkx Monsoon perform Adele’s classic “Rumour Has It.” Jinkx snatches the tip, and blocks Shea Couleé from blocking a Legendary Legend star next week.
