This is the official JBM design for EgoVerse, and I have THOUGHTS.

First: How fuckin cool would it be to have Jackie's tattoos react to his powers, and have the 'energy' visualised by his tattoos glowing in a pulse either up or down his arms. The idea I had was kinda like Godzilla's tail when he charges up an Atomic Blast - but twin ones on JBM's arms. I DID give him dragon/snake tattoos because I want Dragon//Snake tattoos and I'm living vicariously through Jackie LEAVE ME BE.

Second: Jackie's powerset is my absolute favourite. So I've given him like energy manipulation, which is the green crackling stuff around him, as well as the 'Deadpool Sense' where he KNOWS - to some extent - that he is in a comic book.

SHIN JACKIE

Shin Jackie is my concept for an 'Evil' version of JBM. In this concept, he is a hero after repeatedly dying and being revived (either by magic or science) & starts to come back...wrong.

A slit throat by Anti turns into a mouth to scream blasts. Broken bones and cut skin turns into hardened muscles akin to stone. His powers evolve, change colours to a deeper purple, his strength tripling and healing increasing.

There is no way of telling his 'final form' - only that his abilities may not stop evolving the more he is defeated. All the egos can do is to trap him. To bury him far, far down in the earth's core, where he may never arise.

Earlier this year, i was asked to create a metaphorical film around Art, Culture and Technology for the creative agency JBM in Dubai. The talented studio excels in the organization of international events, the creation of shows and engaging experiences focused on storytelling. "JOURNEY" is a film created to blur the lines between the physical world and the abstract world.

A WORLD OF ILLUSION Throughout the film, the viewer is subjected to the continual deception of his senses. The relationships of scales, gravity, orientation in space, transparency, mirrors are an integral part of this incredible odyssey.

THE ARCHITECTURE The general architecture of the museum is reminiscent of the prestigious Arab mosques and palaces. The curved walls, volutes and arabesques bring the oriental touch so dear to JBM. The idea of a museum quickly came to the table because by nature it represents Art in its entirety by mixing works from the past and the present with those of the future.

THE MUSIC As a director, when I start to make a film, I always have the idea of a certain rhythm, of a particular flow that will fit the images i’m creating. Unfortunately i was not asked to bring the music and sound design this time, so when i saw the final piece i was a bit disturbed because it didn’t resonate with what i initially had in mind. So i decided to create my own version of this film.

Currently drawing JBM but it's taking the piss because I've decided to do an actual background for once so in the meantime here's a list of things I've included in his design and the thoughts/intentions behind them:

Hearing aids on both ears- he's partially deaf in his left ear (something he developed in his childhood) and he ruptured his right eardrum causing permanent damage which caused hearing loss

PUNK SYMBOLS!! Purple & Yellow laces- to show he supports/is a part of the LGBTQ+ and is Anti-Racist. Safety Pins to show that he's a safe person to approach. Blue ribbon - symbol for Child abuse awareness. Anarchy symbols + Anti-IRIS symbol, BLM fist symbol and "Eat the rich + Feed the poor" patches. Pins with his pride flags (transgender+ MLM flags) and an ASD rainbow infinity symbol pin (I have yet to draw him with one but he also wears an Anti-Autism Speaks patch)

Choppily done mullet with green hair dye- it's meant to look like he's done it himself, he has both sides shaved and has kept the middle grown out. The story behind it is that he was never allowed to cut his hair short as a kid but shaved all of it off when he joined IRIS- he combines the two into a mullet now to show his defiance of both (which is why he also dyes it- something neither would allow him to do before).

He has a visually bent nose and missing front tooth- these are both from separate fights (he does have another missing tooth but you can't see it like you can with his front teeth) the missing front tooth happened after he got into a fight with some older kids while he was in highschool- his nose got bent during one of his early missions with IRIS. This is on top of the amount of other scars he has from various other fights, experimentations and other shit from over the years

He has a few spider themed tattoos(he's a Spider-Man kinnie), as well as an Earth Kingdom (From Avatar the Last Airbender) BRO WOULD BE AN EARTHBENDER FIGHT ME ON THIS‼️‼️

His eyes are an unnatural blue colour- due to the side effects of IRIS' experimentation- his actual eye colour is Hazel/Grey. They glow in the dark- (while Marvin's does in relation to them being cat like-) Jackie's act more similar to electrical glowing

Jackie is British-Irish here (why he's wearing a British patch) he was born and raised in the North-West of England (most likely in Liverpool as Liverpool has 79% of it's citizens be of Irish descent) his mothers side are all from Ireland and his father's side are British (You can imagine the absolute chaos that was the result from this). And yes Chase does remind him of him that he's EXTREMELY British every ten seconds (Chase has immediate beef with him and it's so entertaining to watch)

Jackie knows a few different languages- English, BSL and a small amount of Gaelic, but he also knows some German from Henrik too.

Jackie is the youngest out of all the egos but they all thought he was older because of the fact that he easily has the most muscular/strong body frame and they initially thought he was taller (thank god for platform boots)
