playing as an amiable mc and finally getting to snap during that fight with duncan was oddly cathartic (also mc frantically trying to heal lea had me in significant distress so you win some you loose some)

i'm glad to hear that, that's definitely what i was going for! the hunter has never felt fully in control (due to their mother, the order, and now their illness), so letting go in that moment and fully losing all control feels very cathartic - if they can't control what's happening, then no one can, and while they'll regret it later, at least for a few seconds they felt liberated.

Angst polycule situation when Four still doesn’t remember what they did or why everyone hates them now.

“What… what on earth happened?” Zero’s voice was so full of disbelief and confusion, you physically cringed. You’ve seen them broken, you’ve seen them working, but this was something else.

You almost felt like a child caught by the parent, doing something you shouldn’t have. 

Your hands dripped red, soaking through the bandages, and your muscles ached—skin burning, droplets of sweat running down your spine. 

“Kurwa,” One’s voice sounded as if they were behind a glass wall, “you bloody idiot, the fuck you did this for? I swear I’ll tie you to that cot—“

“One.” Three’s stern tone cut them off, before they could continue. Your head was pounding, and there was a familiar, constant and stabbing pain behind your eyes. You were exhausted, but you refused to move—rooted in your place.

You could see everyone staring at you, with a variety of reactions. Zero was worried, as always. One was furious—nothing new. Three seemed annoyed, disappointed. And Five… they just seemed like they’ve seen the exact same image of you before. 

“You should be resting, Four. You’re still recovering,” Five’s gentle voice soothed your racing thoughts, although it was hard to understand them through the buzzing sound ringing in your ears.

One shook their head, making a step towards you. You noticed a first aid kit in their hands. “Stupid idiot, why would you do something like that,” they muttered. Something snapped inside you.

“I want to deserve you.” You blurted out, startling everyone. Zero and Five exchanged worried glances, while Three was still processing what you just said. One was the only person who’s expression barely changed. They still looked angry… but also scared. Why would they be scared? “I’m trying to deserve you.” You reiterated, your gaze dropping to the floor.

You knew you hurt all of them at some point—before you lost your memories. Even if Zero and Five seemed to have forgiven you, and Three and One moved past it with time, you felt that you’ve done nothing to deserve their loyalty, love or affection. How could you, when you couldn’t even honestly apologize for your misdeeds?

“Hey, dummy,” One’s gloved hands gently slapped your face, forcing you to look at them. It was more a brush, truly, yet the sudden contact made you react instantly. “You deserve us already.” There was raw conviction in their voice and it made your knees weak. As if held up tension suddenly left your body.

Three moved closer, carefully observing your damaged hands. “You know it’s true, One wouldn’t lie to make you feel better and you know it.” Fair point.

You could see Five moving in the background, shooting you quick glances. There was a bowl of water in their hands, and a clean towel. 

“You don’t have to deserve someone’s affection, Four. Just… be.” Zero’s warm smile forced your own lips to mimic the expression. 

Maybe they were right. Maybe.

so it's mentioned in a/e's intro post that a/e "isn't aware of magic's existence, but they have their suspicions" and I can't help picturing them as a professional Vibe Checker. like, they can look at a certain person or situation and be like 'hm, that's suspisous. that's weird." and be 100% right every time. i know that's probably not accurate but I'm having a blast imaging them meeting MC at the cafe and being like 🧐🤔 because they can sense something is off but they can't quite pinpoint what

You know, I think that's actually pretty close to the truth. A/E's intuition is pretty spot on, and they definitely get a vibe from Z that's like, "nah, something's doesn't quite fit here" and they definitely want to figure out what the Hell it is...

okay, so in the prologue, we are shot by a crossbow and when meeting the healer, it's noted that they have a crossbow in their shop. also, in the codex we see this line "their trust, while easy to earn, is almost impossible to regain when broken."🤔🤔 I could be completely wrong about this but 😳 uh oh besties

hello! dropping by to say I adore your game and all the RO's (: I honestly had a hard time choosing who to romance on my first route. usually, I'll see an RO and be like "that one. that's the one for me." but you make all of them so likeable and unique. i also love how diverse the MC's reactions to things can be. and the range of gender expression is something like i've never seen in an IF <3 seriously, you rock!

I know there are definitely other authors pushing for more gender and gender expression diversity in if (@/northern-passage is just one example that comes immediately to mind), but I'm happy to do my part!

the fact that the hunters eyes glow in the dark is a fantastic bit of character design and also simultaneously the funniest thing because imagine you're Lea, it's dark and you're sharing a room with the hunter, only to wake up and see 👁️👁️ looking directly at you. I would pass away 😭

you're probably getting a lot of these but I wanted to do the MC/RO ask game (: My OC is an actual disaster (affectionate). She is utterly dedicated to iced coffee and cheap ramen. She gets, on average, four hours of sleep a night and it SHOWS. She can have an inappropriate sense of humor but tries to keep it down when on the clock. She will go out of her way to tease people around her, even though that might not be entirely advisable in certain situations. Hates her job but still wants to help people, even though her methods of helping might not be conventual. She's brash and is definitely more of an improviser than a planner. Deep down, she secretly worries that she's annoying and overbearing.

Physically, she's around 5'5 with short, choppy black hair, light brown eyes, and tan skin. Her clothing style is whatever she can find that's clean but if she were to actually put in an effort, her style could be considered punk grunge or soft goth. She has a nose piercing and tattoos on her arms (both of which she did herself).

Morgan definitely would relate to your MC with the sleep thing; "hell yeah undereye bags are in!"

Roan would have a mini-heart attack if they saw her eat cheap ramen; "[Name] I beg you, I will make you a real one just stop--"

Khari's blood pressure would rise because of working with her; "[Name] have you heard of something revolutionary like PLANNING AHEAD?"

Sage would enjoy teasing and bantering with her; "It's refreshing to meet someone so quick-witted in this dull place."

Ariel would get a headache from watching over her; "I think you might be a magnet for any and all dangers at this point."

Sasha would relate to her insecurities, likely recognising the signs; "You know, I love spending time with you, detective! It's the high light of my night!"

Riven would probably be an equal disaster to her; "[Name] I may have made a mistake--I tried to make an egg in a microwave..."

8. Wake up handcuffed to

a) Lan Xichen. What a guy to be handcuffed to. Changes the scenario from "making the best of a bad situation" to "I'm going to do a happy little dance in my head because I can't believe my luck". Kind. Beautiful. Eldest sibling supreme. It's bonding time, baby.

b) Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian are basically tied for second place, but Wei Wuxian might just win by a margin. He would talk my ear off and the introvert in me would get tired pretty fast, but at least if he's talking then I don't have to.

c) Jiang Cheng. It's not that I think he would be a dick about it, but he is a man of many emotions and I imagine that being handcuffed to a stranger must be a frustrating situation. If anyone is even mildly irritated in my general vicinity I can and will start crying. Bad time for the both of us.

d) Xue Yang. Might kill me because it's as easy a solution to the problem as any.

e) The Tortoise of Slaughter. Will definitely kill me, and also eat me.

8. If they were an animal which one would they be? Which one would they think they'd be?

I'll be honest a blue jay came to mind first just because I've seen one dive bomb a hawk for getting too close to its nest akdhdjsd. Extremely protective of their loved ones even if it might be a detriment to them. Stand offish if they don't know you, but extremely loyal, ride or die, and steadfast if you can make it past that initial wall.

They'd probably say some sort of mountain lion or some other huge and intimidating bird of prey to fluff themselves up a bit hahaha.

20. Who's their go-to person for advice?

The Healer for personal things, the Sage for things that need a more logical mind, and their former Mentor if they know they need some tough love.

22. Are they a dog person or a cat person - or something else?

A slight preference for cats, but I would describe them as more of a stray person? Like they wouldn't be able to not feed a stray or help an injured animal. But the Healer knows not to mention it.
