Changing Fate
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Characters: Ayume Nejireta, Genyō Anrui, Suguru Geto
Warnings: A bit angsty, but with a happy ending. Also major manga spoilers for volume 0.
Notes: As you can see, I am still not writing bios. Honestly, I didn’t think I’d end up writing anymore fics after that last one, or at least not so soon. But my besto friendo and I ended up getting into a conversation about this AU, and I couldn’t help but write it even if I didn’t do it enough justice. This is really just me using writing as a coping mechanism when it comes down to it so don’t mind me. 🚶
Tumblr media
Panic. That was the only thing the girl could feel as she walked the streets, the soft glow of the moon and a faint trace of cursed energy being her only guide.
Just what was it that had taken place here? Suguru Geto was smart, there was no doubt about that. He knew what he was doing, he knew his own limits. And yet, she couldn't seem to shake the feeling of pure uneasiness that had formed and twisted itself into the pit of her stomach. It felt almost suffocating. She had only been on the move for a short while, and yet it had felt like an eternity. Each minute that passed by feeling longer than the last as the fear set in. Her mind repeating the same question over and over again like a broken record as her pace began to quicken. "Where is he?"
As if somehow sensing the woman's distress in that moment, the cursed spirit that resided within her seemed to awaken. With the traces of cursed energy growing ever stronger, it became clear that they were getting close to their destination. Yet her only concern, given the woman's current state, was what they would find when they got there. Knowing this, she wasted no time in having one of her eyes appear upon her cheek, using it to her advantage as she began to examine the area around her. And sure enough, there, just outside of her vessel's field of vision, was a darkened alleyway that the moonlight barely touched. Had she not been so on guard from the situation at hand, it would have easily been missed.
Upon seeing this, as if on instinct, the cursed spirit made a rare, spur of the moment decision. The woman stopped in her tracks immediately as various black markings began to appear on her skin, her consciousness slowly fading. Out of respect for her vessel, the curse had made it a point to never switch without permission, or a simple game of rock paper scissors. But this, was a very different case. It was the only thing she could think to do. There was no denying that Ayume was a strong individual. She wouldn't have accepted her as her vessel otherwise. Yet she could be vulnerable, emotions often getting the better of her. Especially when it came to him. Rui knew this better than anyone, and the horrific sight before her would have surely broken her far more than anything else ever could. "Sorry, Yume... You don't need to see this." She muttered, though silently hoping that her words went unheard by the curse user.
There, leaned against the cold, stone wall was none other than Suguru Geto. The very man that they had been searching for, bloodied and beaten. The entire right side of his body practically obliterated. The moment the two had learned of the man's disappearance shortly after his fight with that jujutsu sorcerer, Yuta Okkotsu, Rui had known something was off. But now, seeing him there at death's door, she couldn't help but feel annoyed at best. How could one be so careless? If he didn't value his own life, at the very least, he should value the heart of the one who did.
"The hell are you doing, Geto? You look like crap." Upon hearing the woman's voice, the man slowly raised his head, eyes moving up to meet her gaze. It was clear that his mind wasn't fully there at that point, seemingly in some sort of daze as he spoke. Truth be told, he had thought that anyone who found him would have been there to put an end to him. "Ayume....?"
"I suppose it can't be helped..." Rui began, ignoring his previous question, knowing full well that the markings present on her features would be a dead giveaway as to who it was he was speaking to. "If you died, you'd be taking her with you. And we certainly can't have that, now can we?" She let out a deep sigh before approaching him, kneeling down so as to get a better look at his condition. It would no doubt take up a significant amount of cursed energy to heal wounds this severe, but fortunately for him, there was no shortage of such things when it came to the Lady of Seals. What was important now was that it could be done. Though she was going to need an extra long nap afterwards, and she most definitely would not be disturbed.
"Sorry... I guess I was a little in over my head, huh?" Suguru said, letting out a somewhat forced chuckle as he leaned his head back against the now bloodied wall. Upon hearing this, the curse tore her attention off the man's wounds for a brief moment, only to send him a glare. "Save it for when we're done here. I'm not the one who needs to here that." Though there was still a hint of annoyance present in her voice, her gaze had softened ever so slightly as she heard him mutter a small thank you. It was strange to admit, but she couldn't help but feel relieved that they had managed to get to him before anyone else did, or better yet, before he ended up bleeding out. The fact he hadn't being a miracle in and of itself.
It didn't take long for the cursed spirit to finish her work. Despite the energy it had taken, healing a human was mere child's play to one who has lived as long as she has. The man in question now looking much better than he had been just moments prior. His missing arm had been practically healed to perfection, along with the rest of him that had suffered damage, and the initial shock of such an experience seemed to be wearing off. The worse he'd suffer now was fatigue, and whatever mental scars this may cause later. As for Rui, her job there was done. She could only hope that Ayume wouldn't be too shaken once she retreated back into the corners of her soul.
It took a moment for the woman to register what had just taken place as the markings on her face began to fade. Though with Suguru smiling in front of her, not a scratch to be seen despite the various traces of blood and his disheveled appearance, she didn't have to ask. It took everything she had not to break down into tears right then and there.
Whether it was out of fear for what would've happened had they gotten there a moment later, relief that he was alive and breathing, or simple tears of joy that he was still there, she wasn't sure. It felt as though she was being hit by every emotion imaginable all at once. And yet, she managed to keep her cool for his sake. He'd been through hell, and the last thing he needed was to see her cry. So instead, she smiled, that same smile she'd give him every time he'd enter the room. But he knew better than that. "I'm ok." Those two words were all she needed to hear as he pulled her into his arms. She tried. She tried so hard not to cry. But she was no longer able to hold back the tears as she buried her face into his shoulder.
Nothing else needed to be said in that moment as the two sat in silence in one another's embrace. Perhaps she'd scold him later for his recklessness, but for now, despite this cruel twist of fate, they had survived. And in the end that was the only thing that mattered.
"Come on..." She said, attempting to compose herself as she wiped the tears from her cheeks before swinging his now healed arm over her shoulder. She helped him off the ground, giving him a moment to steady himself before beginning to walk him out of the alleyway. "Let's go home."

Modern!AU Headcanons | Geto Family
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Credits: Y'all know the drill. Ayume art in the header by @hiikkups on Instagram. Go follow her. 🔫👁👄👁
Warnings: None today. Just some modern shenanigans for your reading pleasure.
Notes: Y'all also know the other drill. I procrastinate and don't write Ayume's bio, and y'all get some random fic/HC post because I gotta keep y'all fed somehow. With that being said, here's some modern HCs for the SuguYume fam while I work on the Discord, because we were talking about it again last night and it's honestly one of my favorites + another coping mechanism so yEET--
Tumblr media
It all started when Ayume Nejireta Geto moved in next door with her husband and two children.
What could possibly go wrong?
Turns out, their elderly neighbor, Rui, was none to thrilled about their house having been built on top of one of her flower gardens. Despite it happening decades before they even arrived there.
Grandma holds a grudge ok.
Thankfully, she didn't scare them off like she did any of the previous families who had lived there.
You get used to her after awhile.
The one person she happened to take a liking to was Satoru of all people, who she met during one of the family's backyard BBQs. Which are always a mess btw, needless to say.
She even made cookies for him.
Ayume and Suguru were extremely confused because of this. How did he manage to get on her good side?
"She never gives us cookies, wth."
Turns out he had been flirting with her. Big surprise.
Though in his own defense, you'd never guess Rui was a grandma just by looking at her. The neighborhood is convinced she's immortal and doesn't age.
Ever since that day, Satoru made it a point to stop by Rui's whenever he's visiting. Just because he knows flattery will get him free food.
He's rarely allowed to visit specifically for that reason. Well, that and the fact that he's just a bad influence on the girls and everyone knows it.
Then again, the family friend, Juno, isn't much better.
He somehow got ahold of the spare key, and will randomly just let himself in.
They once woke up at 3 A.M because they heard rummaging around coming from the kitchen.
Suguru instinctively grabbed a bat and went to go switch on the lights.
Only to find Juno eating out of their trash like a raccoon.
This lead to the girls new favorite excuse.
"Juno ate my homework."
We don't talk about the time he brought a rock over claiming it was his son.
Sometimes they question why they still associate with him, but still let him stick around for whatever reason.
At the very least, he's intimidated by Ayume. So he doesn't cause too much trouble.
The family has a wide array of strange decorations in their home. Most of which they don't even recall buying.
Such as the weird plant in their dining room that sorta looks like it has a face...
There's also the model volcano the girls made for a school project.
For some reason, they had stuck one singular googly eye on it and named it "Jogo".
Ayume and Suguru were understandably a bit concerned, but It's fine as long as you don't make eye contact with it.
Ayume runs a little Etsy shop where she sells stickers she made. Along with some other little aesthetic items like pins.
For designs inspired by various curses, they're surprisingly cute.
The girls like to help her make some of the designs from time to time.
Since it's more of a hobby than an actual job, she always makes sure the money earned from the things they helped with are spent on them.
Shopping trips tend to be the most chaotic.
And that's not even considering the encounters they have with Mahito. The hobo that tends to hang around the entrance.
We don't talk about him.
Somehow, the trips always lead to Ayume running around while pushing the girls on the shopping cart.
Suguru always ends up having to chase after them because plz they're gonna get hurt--
Heaven forbid they run into Rui somewhere along the line, because it only gets 10x worse. She offers to push the cart and ends up almost knocking down every shelf and person in sight.
There was one instance where she ran right over Satoru.
After all that, Ayume and the girls end up making Suguru push them around in one of those carts with the seats on them for the rest of the trip because their legs got tired from running around.
They eventually end up getting kicked out.
Suguru sometimes has to wonder what he's doing here.
"How? How do you get us kicked out of WALMART?"
"Beats me. Hey, let's go to Ikea next!"
They are currently banned from 3 different Walmarts, two Ikeas and a McDonald's.
The McDonald's was from the time Satoru had come to visit and got stuck in the play place.
Suguru had to climb up there to try and get him out, but also got stuck.
Turns out, Rui had gotten stuck before they even got there. Which they only learned after hearing a faint "So. You too huh?" from the the next tunnel over.
In the end, they ended up having to call the fire department to get these two grown men and one grandma out of the play place.
It was on the local news and everything.
The footage had been provided by Nanako, who had recorded the entire incident while Ayume and Mimiko giggled hysterically.
You better believe they were never able to live it down.
After that nightmare, Suguru had tried to make dinner but ended up setting off the smoke alarm.
All he was trying to do was put a frozen pizza in the oven...
Needless to say, it was a rough day for everyone.
Date nights for the couple are rare and reserved for special occasions. Mainly because they hardly trust anyone to babysit.
Rui doesn't seem to understand the concept of children, and it would be a cold day in hell before they'd ever ask Satoru.
But sometimes, they manage to convince Kento.
He's the only one they find trustworthy enough for the job. Because although the girls find him a little boring and strict at times, he's the only responsible person they know.
At least with him, they can rest assured that the house will still be standing by the time they get back.
And on the plus side, the girls love Yu. Because let's face it, he's the fun uncle. So when Kento makes it a point to bring him along, there's always plenty of fun to be had.
Even if it feels like he's stuck babysitting 3 kids instead of 2 at times...
In case it wasn't already obvious, they're one of the most chaotic families in the whole neighborhood.
But that's what makes them interesting, so they somehow manage remain on good terms with everyone.
If one thing is for certain, it's that there's never a dull moment when it comes to the Geto family.

General Headcanons | Ayume Nejireta
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Credits: The art featured in the header I made for this was, like many of the things I've shared here, drawn by @hiikkups on instagram. So here's your daily reminder to check out my besto friendo. 💜 Also, aside from Rui, another one of my friends OCs, Juno, was briefly mentioned in here. So credit to my boy Flashlight for that.
Warnings: Manga spoilers in a few of the points, but they were either too funny or too relevant not to include. So sorry about that---
Notes: Am I ever gonna get around to Ayume's bio? Hopefully. But honestly, I just feel like messing around right now for whatever reason. Maybe I'm just lazy as all heck. But I figured that I'd at least give y'all this so you can learn a little bit more about her while I procrastinate attempt to work on her bio. Half of it is just memey stuff but hey. I'm having fun. So enjoy your uh... Soup? Or what ever you wanna call this---
Tumblr media
This girl does NOT like Gojo.
She was honestly all for Juzo making him into a coatrack.
100% would shake around the Prison Realm hoping he'd get dizzy.
Probably yells insults at it too just in case he can hear.
The only one she can easily say she hates more than Gojo is Mahito.
Despite technically being on the same side, she can't stand him. But to be fair, who can?
She knows his name, but purposely gets it wrong out of spite. The most common names for him include Mahobo, Mojito, and Mahitoe. Amongst various other things.
She's threatened to feed him to Juno on multiple occasions and has at one point, tried to actually go through with it.
Unfortunately, the team "still needed" him.
Absolutely will not hesitate to bring up the fact that he lives in a sewer like the hobo he is.
She got to be the referee that one time they played ball with Jogo's head.
Ended up burying Mahito in the sand and then left him there with no remorse whatsoever.
Rui is her bestie, no questions asked.
Even if she does steal her food all the time but hey. Besties share.
Partners in crime. Literally.
Yuji and Sukuna who??
They rarely ever fight, but when they do, it's about guys.
Doesn't get what Rui sees in Gojo.
Like Geto is literally right there, c'mon now.
Supportive Girlfriend™
Actually kind of a simp.
Please excuse her. She just loves Geto a lot.
Literally cannot have arguments with him because all he needs to do is hug/kiss her and she forgets why she was mad.
He wins every time....
This only works with Geto though. With anyone else, she's as stubborn as they come.
She will fight for hours if you're not already knocked out from her kendama. Don't even bother please. It's not worth it.
She needs to be holding Geto's hand or at least have their pinkies locked at all times. This is not negotiable.
Forehead kisses are also mandatory for both of them.
Rui may or may not have tried to play wingman in the beginning.
Somehow, it worked.
A couple that commits war crimes together, stays together. 💜
She went through an extremely dark period after [REDACTED], and probably ended up clinging onto Kenjaku despite knowing he wasn't really Geto because poor girl was in denial and didn't know how else to cope.
"Girl, that's not your man."
"Close enough."
Obviously this is not healthy. She is not ok and is probably being manipulated someone help her please.
Best to focus on pre-volume 0 ending because everything after that point hurts me. Moving on--
She gets extremely pouty if you call her short.
Will kick you in the shin and watch as you fall to the ground as if to say 'You were saying?"
Geto puts her on his shoulders so she can look down on people and smug levels go through the roof.
She isn't even that short. But being surrounded by trees can do that to a person.
She falls asleep in very strange positions and has woken up upside down more times than she cares to admit.
Has definitely rolled out of bed on accident and spent the next 5 minutes staring at the celling and questioning her life decisions.
She's prone to falling asleep anywhere if she's comfortable enough.
Geto found her asleep behind the couch once.
How she got there is a mystery. But he learned to stop questioning it.
At this point she just sleeps out of boredom when she isn't feeling violent. Seems to be a habit she picked up from Rui.
She's extra as all heck, at all times. Queen of dramatic entrances.
Whether that's the flashy kind or the breaking down the door kind depends on the day.
She actually has a very pleasant singing voice, although only a few people know about it.
It's not something she intentionally keeps a secret, she just hasn't gotten a chance to show off yet.
Used to sing lullabies to Mimiko and Nanako when they were younger.
Rui ended up falling asleep too. Whoops.
It's either soft or arson with her honestly.
No in between.
Need I say more?

These Small Hours
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Characters: Ayume Nejireta, Suguru Geto, Mimiko Hasaba, Nanako Hasaba, Genyō Anrui
Warnings: Very slight manga spoilers if you squint hard enough-- Also written at 2 A.M so don't expect much--
Notes: Yes. I could be spending my time writing Ayume's bio like I'm supposed to be doing. But my 2 A.M brain told me that this had to be done and it was very important that I listened. I don't even write fics normally, but I'm sad, ok? It's not much but I needed something wholesome for once.
Tumblr media
Ayume couldn't help but smile at the sight before her as she stood in the doorway.
The room had clearly seen better days, what with all of the various hairbands, ribbons, clips and combs scattered about, along with what seemed to be multiple bottles of nail polish. And there, in the middle of what could only be described as a tornado of accessories, sat the infamous curse user, Suguru Geto. Legs crossed and a goofy smile of his own spread across his face. Yet most notable however, was his hair, which had been tied up into two pigtails with matching yellow ribbons. Mimiko and Nanako standing on either side of him, proud looks on their faces as they admired their work.
"Well look at you, Suguru!" Ayume giggled as she entered into the room, moving to sit herself in front of him before placing a kiss to his forehead. "You look beautiful!" Despite the joking tone in her voice, there couldn't be any more truth to her words. Though the scene was almost comical, in that moment, beautiful was the only word that could have possibly described the look of pure happiness and adoration on his face. One that she couldn't help but stop to admire.
Though it didn't take very long for to her be snapped out of her daze as she felt a small tug on her kimono. "Can we do your hair too, Miss Ayume?" Mimiko asked, her eyes lighting up with excitement. "Yeah! We promise we'll make you look just as pretty as Master Geto!" Nanako added as her hands clapped together. Despite their unfortunate upbringing, they still managed to be so bright. And it was all thanks to Suguru.
Ayume placed a hand on her chin, pretending to contemplate their question before turning to the small table next to them, eyeing the various bottles of nail polish and glitter placed upon it. "Hmm. I don't see why not. But only if you girls let me do your nails afterward!" She laughed. Upon hearing this, the two girls beamed before beginning to whisper and giggle about what kind of hairstyle they wanted to try out on her first.
Ayume sat there for a moment, her mind beginning to wander. It was little moments like these that made it hard to believe the situation she was in. That both she and the man beside her were considered wanted criminals, and all of this could come crashing down on them at any moment. And yet, she wouldn't trade any of it for the world. At least for now, she was home.
Tumblr media
BONUS:
The cursed spirit sat as she watched the scene play out before her. It was strange, the way the both of them seemed so gentle and full of love. A large contrast to the misery she had grown so familiar with all those years ago. To the rest of the world, they were murderers, monsters even. And yet, here they were, treating these children with all the kindness in the world as if they were their own. Though she couldn't seem to fully understand it, Rui too couldn't help but smile.
"Humans certainly are odd creatures…"
