Hello fellow Hero enjoyers! We just wanted to extend our thanks and a word of welcome to all of the new visitors and followers of our blog. We're so excited to have you here and thank you so much for your support! 💙

Thank you also to everyone who has participated in our "Brothers Headcanons" special event in honor of Kel's Birthday which is wrapping up today! We have loved getting to answer your requests and hope you have enjoyed all of the headcanons. We will keep posting them until all the requests are answered. 🧡

We'd also like to remind everyone that we still have ficlet requests slots open if anyone would like a short Hero-centric story (of less than 1000 words). We want to thank everyone who has submitted requests so far! There are currently 4 slots remaining. 😊

As this has come up a couple of times recently, we would like to take the opportunity to briefly clarify one of our request rules (which are also listed in full on our pinned post under "Blog considerations"): Please keep in mind that we are personally not comfortable writing any explicitly romantic content between Hero and a character of ambiguous age. Since Hero is canonically an adult, we are only comfortable creating romantic content between him and characters confirmed by the canon to be his age [i.e. Mari (who is the same age as Hero) or Brandi (who is confirmed to attend university with him)]. We want to clarify that in the opinions of the mods of this blog the Unbread Twins have ambiguous ages. The game confirms that they are older than Mikhael, but it is never revealed how much older and the line about them still being in "school" does not specify high school or university. They very well could be the same age as Hero and Mari, but as we (mods) do not know for certain, we are not personally comfortable creating explicitly romantic content including them and Hero (who we know canonically is an adult).

We also want to clarify that we love and appreciate Bowen and Daphne here, and that if anyone would like Hero and Unbread Twins content, we would be happy to write it for you with a platonic spin. We are just not personally comfortable taking it to an explicitly romantic place given the ambiguous ages and potential age gap. [It's just a personal boundary of ours, and we appreciate you understanding. We feel it also goes without saying that we would also not be comfortable creating any romantic content between Hero and any canon character with an age gap]. Thank you for understanding and for respecting our personal boundaries and rules.

TLDR; We will take requests for any platonic relationship between Hero and another character, but requests including any explicitly romantic content between Hero and a canon character with an ambiguous age will be politely declined.

We apologize if we were not clear with our rules and for any inconvenience brought by having to politely decline some requests. We love and appreciate all of you and greatly value your support. A Precariously Stacked Pile of Random Season 2 Thoughts

These are notes I took as I watched the season. Usually after I’d already posted about the episode in question, and I thought of something I would have added to the post. Rather than edit them into my posts, I’m rounding them up and posting them all at once. As such, they are vaguely chronological. Unfortunately, because I made the notes legible to me and me only, I didn't bother to write down what episode I was referring to. I've also added some notes in as I was editing these notes. So this is also a bit of a scavenger hunt. Enjoy!

Iroh poisoning himself: dumbass moment or 5D chess?

My autocorrect corrects “Sokka” to Sock, and “Sokka’s” to socks. This causes double takes when editing.

Badgermoles have excellent eyeliner. Is that where the Kyoshi Warriors get their jaw dropping cat eye?

Why is Ty Lee spelled Ty Lee and not Tai Li? Why is Dai Li spelled Dai Li and not Dy Lee?

Sometimes Sokka makes me think of Mulan. Am I crazy?

Are the swampbenders’ moves based on a real martial art style too?

Why didn’t Aang use his swamp sense to locate Appa post-appanapping?

Where did Toph, who spent her whole life as a prisoner of her parents’ house and a moonlighting WWE wrestler until Team Avatar busted her out, get such emotional intelligence?

Why did Zuko’s dad put forward the plan to disinherit Iron in favour of him less than 24 hours after Lu Ten’s death? Why did he think that moving quickly was the right approach? Does the Fire Nation not do grieving periods? In what world was 'strike while the iron is hot' the correct course of action here?

Looking back, I’m amazed that season 2 didn’t end in Zuko’s redemption. I didn’t much like Zuko Alone, but I was sure that a season that included that much set up for a Zuko redemption arc would prioritise finishing that arc.

I haven’t even met this Firelord guy yet, but I am peeved that that twerp has a name as cool as Ozai.

Why haven't I met that Firelord guy yet?

I really thought that the older brother character in Zuko Alone would make an appearance later on in the season, giving Zuko a chance to flex some newly acquired morals. But the parallel to Lu Ten and the general message about the evils of war lands better if we never hear of him again.

Zuko in the first half of season 2 had me so annoyed that I was incredibly uncharitable to him in my write ups. Reading through some of the stuff I wrote while watching episodes, I kind of wince now. Zuko in the second half of the season was much less annoying. Which I feel bad for saying, because he’s clearly not in a good place in the second half of the season.

I would love to know why the writers decided to have Toph and Iroh meet in the wilderness. I think it’s a good choice, but I want to know how they came up with it, and why those characters? Is there anything about Toph (especially at that point, when we’ve known her for 1 episode) that suggests that she and Iroh should meet? Or would get along if they did?

Zuko has so many rock bottom fake outs this season: Zuko Alone? Nope, he gets worse in The Chase. The Chase? Nope, he gets worse in Bitter Work. Bitter Work? Nope, he gets worse in the finale.

I’m still peeved that Azula won a 6 on 1 showdown. Sorry, but that breaks immersion.

I bet the Blue Spirit could make lightning.

If water is the element of change, why does the Northern Water Tribe have such strictly defined traditions? I get that it's literally the element of change, in that water can exist in different physical states, but shouldn't the metaphorical interpretation also be true?

I like that Toph can think like an Airbender sooner than Aang can think like an earthbender.

What is Sokka’s boomerang made of? Is it metal? Because if it’s metal, does that mean that there’s a blacksmith somewhere in the South Pole? With a forge?

I still can’t get over how dumb the whole eclipse plot was.

Suki is TINY!!!

I mocked this guy’s 80s aerobics video leotard aesthetic, and I stand by that mockery, because this guy is ugly. Those colours are awful. But do you know who else has those colours?

Jet this season fascinates me. He’s positioned as genuinely repentant and legitimately seeking a second chance and I don’t believe him for one minute. Why don’t I believe him? This show has a theme of learning from mistakes and doing better, so shouldn’t Jet be a perfect fit for this show’s themes? I should be primed to believe him. And yet I don’t.

I have to applaud Iron’s enthusiasm for their new life in Ba Sing Se. A lot of that cheer (at least before the tea shop) is put on for Zuko’s sake. I don’t know where Iroh gets the energy to keep trying with Zuko after years of minimal results, but I’m glad he does.

I think Aang and Ty Lee should hang out. They have similar circus energy. Or maybe it’s that they’re the only two characters in the show so far who are remotely playful.

Aang = surface silliness, core of calm. Not that the silliness doesn't run deep, but he seems to have an untouchable anchor of calm deep within that rarely gets disturbed. Gyatso raised him well.

Are Suki and her warriors sitting in the middle of some Earth Kingdom forest in their underwear?

So are Smellerbee and Longshot just done? Will they be back in season 3? What happens to their life now? They are known associates of an enemy of the state who was just executed. It doesn't look good.

Everyone on this show has big ears. Zuko has the smallest ears simply because he has the least amount of ears remaining. But everyone else? Big ears.

Can I have more Gyatso? I forgot how cool he was. More Guru too please.

Everyone in the SWT has such wonderfully fluffy hair.

I like Sokka’s boots. Southern Water Tribe boots in general.

If this is the grand total of the SWT, I have some bad news about population dynamics.

Is there a proper naval term for what the SWT are doing? They’re a stealth strike force that seems to be going after individual enemy ships, using both direct and indirect tactics. Not pirates, because as far as we know they aren't going for FN supplies. They're doing what submarines do, but above water. There’s got to be a proper name for that.

Is there a raft of FN corpses chilling in the waters in front of the NWT's big wall?

I saw ATLA described as a show where all the characters are Asian-inspired people of colour, but isn’t Suki a blue-eyed redhead?

I had no idea that you could decline an Agni Kai. Zuko should have done that.

Why are the Dai Li so in love with Azula? I get that they're pissed with Long Feng for getting arrested, but wouldn't the logical choice be to direct their loyalties to the Earth King rather than a wildcard princess? I'm not going to pretend for a minute that the Dai Li are loyal to the Earth Kingdom or to Ba Sing Se, but the Earth King is a known quantity. Seems to me that it would be easier for them to re-puppetify him, rather than a FN princess.

Katara & Zuko bonding over their missing mothers is the same “makes sense until you think about it for five seconds” as Song & Zuko bonding over losing their fathers to war. Technically the same, sort of, on paper, but actually kind of rude to equate them once you know the full story. Same with the parallel between Lu Ten and the older brother in Zuko Alone. The proper dead mom parallel is Katara and Jet. Although Katara doesn’t object to the Zuko comparison, so I have no grounds to do so.

I’m really glad that Katara didn’t remove Zuko’s scar with her spirit oasis water. Both because she kind of really needed that water, but also because one thing this show has always done right is permanence. No quick fixes, no fake outs, no take backs. Lu Ten is dead, and he stays that way. Princess Yue is the moon, and she stays that way. Half a dozen people’s moms are dead, and they stay that way. Aang is the last Airbender, and he stays that way. Zuko is scarred, and he stays that way. There are no hand waves, no easy fixes. All the characters can do is learn to live with it, and go forward. And I’m grateful the show is like that, because that permanence, as well as being a good lesson to learn, functions as a reward for audience investment.

Aang did come to a crossroads of destiny in the finale, chose his duties to the world over his friends, and got aggressively slapped down for it. I have a feeling that he’ll take the wrong lesson from that, since he was already inclined to shun that path.

Overall Season 1 was prettier.

Ty Lee was the cause of more than one Beat Up Sokka Quota fulfillment this season. Make of that what you will.

Will Zuko & Azula spend season 3 bouncing between the FN and Ba Sing Se? They could be heavily involved with establishing the FN governance over Ba Sing Se, since the city is already inclined towards royalty.

Favourite episode this season? The Guru. The Blind Bandit and The Swamp are tied for second place.

🎉We’re caught up!!!🎉

We have officially gone through all of 616!Moon Knight’s published material (that I’m aware of anyway hahaha). Thank you for following along, as there are a lot more of you than I ever thought would be interested in this little project of mine, and I’m so glad I got the opportunity to share this with you all! For those of you who just started following (first of all hi! So excited to have you!) and for long-time followers alike, don’t worry! This isn’t the end of the Age of Moon Knight by a long shot. Administrative minutiae and musings on the future of this blog beneath the cut.

I’ll be keeping a sharp eye out for any new 616!Moon Knight material that gets released and I’ll be posting here accordingly. Can’t wait to see how the current volume develops and whatever guest appearances they have in store for Moon Knight!

I have also been playing with the idea of branching out into other Moon Knight material. I definitely want to go through and perhaps share any variant covers I can find, as I think that could be fun. Furthermore, I might pop my head in and see what the heck went down in the Earth-1610/Ultimates continuity in regard to Moon Knight (or maybe even more non-616 continuities???). Please feel free to share with me any Moon Knight content you’d like me to investigate and post about as I am definitely open to suggestions hahaha

For those of you who like my comic commentary in general (which???? still never fails to amaze me that some of you not only read the clownery I leave in the tags but actually look forward to them; can’t thank y’all enough and I’m incredibly honored), I’m already thinking about which comic book character I would like to read through next 😅, on a separate side-blog I’d be working on concurrently of course hahaha. The list of possibilities is currently as follows:

Kaine: Scarlet Spider

Ben Reilly: Scarlet Spider

Nate Grey: X-Man

Ted Sallis: Man-Thing

Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen: Cloak and Dagger

There are also some DC characters I’d like to tackle some day (namely Scott Free/Mister Miracle and Big Barda, Bart Allen/Impulse, Conner Kent/Kon-El/Superboy, and Cassandra Cain), but I’d first like to nail down some reading lists that span DC’s many continuity reboots, which my cursory research have yet to yield.

Just let me know if there are any characters listed here (or others? I’m amendable) that you would like to see me dive into on my next side-blog. Right now, I’m leaning towards Kaine (and not only because he has close to only a quarter of the comic book appearances that Moon Knight does hahaha).

In conclusion, thank you once more for accompanying me on this adventure and I can’t wait to read many, many more comics with you all.

Niki Lauda convincing everyone he was anything but as insane as the rest of them was the biggest con he ever pulled. I'm enamoured with the workings of his mind.

Something in me broke when I got near the end, and he was like "No, I WILL take time out of my book to complain about people stealing my clothes, the house never having yoghurt, and this one guy trying to sell me a meadow above market price, but I ain't having it."

[alhaitham/cyno] be sweet

i was digging in my WIPs folder and found a ficlet i’d forgotten about. i remember the idea striking me on a long car ride a couple months ago, just one of those random things that i Had to start writing while the idea was in my head.

the idea was, simply, ‘what if cyno could tie a cherry stem with his tongue?’

“Come now, you can’t tell me the General Mahamatra has not a single party trick up his sleeve.”

Alhaitham’s voice had taken a syrupy quality. It could be attributed to the wine he was nursing, though Cyno knew he hadn’t had more than half a glass. Alhaitham so rarely spoke without a point, and time had given Cyno more experience discerning what that point may be, in any given conversation.

In this case, he was trying to get a rise out of him. To what end—well. The what was always easier to figure out than the why.

“I don’t wear sleeves,” Cyno replied.

Alhaitham rolled his eyes. “Oh spare me, Cyno.”

Cyno hid a smile by taking a cherry from a bowl on the table and popping it in his mouth.

Around the cherry pit, he said, “I thought you wanted me to entertain you.”

“I don’t believe I’m the first to tell you your jokes are far from entertaining.”

“Allow me to explain—“

“No, no,” Alhaitham said with a wave of his hand. “Please forget I said anything.”

They went quiet after that, in their secluded corner of Alhaitham’s dining room. The rest of the attendants of that night’s group dinner were gathered in the living room, seated on the couches or on the rug and hotly debating different home rules for a game of mancala. Alhaitham and Cyno had elected to refrain from participating. Kaveh was making a heartfelt, if meandering, case for himself. Dehya was savagely denying him.

Cyno said, “If you’re so bored, you can join them, you know.”

“Not really where my interests lie.” Alhaitham set down his now empty glass. “You are a far more fascinating subject.”

Maybe he was drunk after all, Cyno thought. Alhaitham would not otherwise be so candid.

“You don’t prefer to read one of your books?” Cyno asked.

“No—no more books on dinner nights. I learned my lesson last time when Kaveh spilled wine on my lap. He was lucky it wasn’t one of my more prized books.”

“That was pretty funny, though.” Cyno nearly smiled recalling it. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so angry. Your face turned puce.”

“Puce,” Alhaitham said, wrinkling his nose. “Ugh.”

“Not much can crack the Scribe’s exterior,” Cyno continued. He plucked another cherry from the bowl. “At least, that’s what the rumors say.”

“And you believe them?” Alhaitham asked, tilting his head.

Cyno shrugged a shoulder. “There’s some truth to it. But I don’t think you’re as unflappable as people say.”

“Really? And what data do you have to support this hypothesis?”

Cyno regarded him for a moment, mouth closed but teeth still chewing on the cherry he’d eaten, its tartness flooding his tongue.

He spat the pit out, then twirled the stem between his thumb and forefinger.

“You wanted a party trick, right?” he said.

Alhaitham blinked. Before he could respond, Cyno stuck the stem into his mouth.

He made a point of locking eyes with Alhaitham. Alhaitham looked confused. Already he was proving Cyno’s point. Cyno would have grinned if his mouth weren’t preoccupied.

He hadn’t done this in a while, but the motions came back to him quickly enough. His jaw flexed slightly as he worked his tongue behind his closed mouth. Alhaitham’s gaze melted from confusion to something hazier, his eyes occasionally flitting down to Cyno’s mouth.

Finally, Cyno parted his lips and reached for the tip of the cherry stem, bitten between his teeth. He pulled it out.

The stem was now tied in a small knot.

“Ta-da,” Cyno said flatly. He allowed himself one smirk. “Impressive enough for you?”

Alhaitham grabbed him by the jaw.

It caught Cyno by surprise, prompting a small gasp. It was a sudden movement but not an ungentle one. Alhaitham’s palm was broad and warm, cupping Cyno’s chin easily. His thumb settled against the hinge of Cyno’s jaw and pushed, not hard, just applying enough pressure to encourage Cyno to part his lips. Cyno’s heartbeat pounded in his ears.

“How did you do that?” Alhaitham murmured, eyes fixed to Cyno’s lower lip. Perhaps the cherry had stained it.

“Practice,” Cyno breathed. He snuck a glance at the others in the living room. They were still focused on the game.

“That’s all?”

“I could show you.” Cyno’s tongue darted out to wet his lips. “Just not here.”

Alhaitham hummed. “What if I’d like to see it here?”

Cyno scoffed. Beneath the table, he moved his foot to brush along the inside of Alhaitham’s calf, then upwards, towards the bend of his knee. Alhaitham inhaled sharply through his nose.

“Trust me,” Cyno said, “I can show you more somewhere else.”

Alhaitham seemed to consider it. “Fine,” he said. “Your place?”

“My place. I’ll leave first. Follow in five minutes.”

Cyno rose from his seat, pulling himself out of Alhaitham’s grip. He swallowed against the sudden loss of warmth. He glanced at the others who continued to pay them no mind, then he looked at Alhaitham, staring up at him expectantly. Cyno supposed he deserved something to tide him over.

He bent down and pressed his mouth to Alhaitham’s in a quick, heated kiss. The taste of cherries mingled between them, sweet and heady, before Cyno pulled away. Alhaitham leaned in to chase his mouth.

“Don’t keep me waiting long,” Cyno murmured.

“Wouldn’t dream of it,” Alhaitham said. There: a hint of a smile. Too easy.

Cyno popped another cherry into his mouth before walking away, feeling the weight of Alhaitham’s gaze on him the entire time.

Comet!!!! I am having ♡thots♡ and i love your work so much i can't imagine who else to share them with. Ok, ok. Picture this:

The new bug gets a proper, ghoul style welcome to the pack now he has had a chance to bond with each of them individually and by that i mean they just make a total mess of him you know? (In an enthusiastically consentual way ofc) i'm talking tears, cum, piss, shame, praise, slick, bites,knots. Basically everyone really goes all in on the new bug. The cuddle pile after would be the most sticky place on earth though i know it💀

I thought, hard, about writing this into an actual fic(let). But there is no way I can write this without it being like 10k words. SO....here, have some THOTS.
