The end of my journey...
Okay, after a journey that I had traveled for 6 years, I arrived at a state where I would end everything. Even though I was so ready, so ready if I had to write the ending of this story as MaouxChiho, I never thought it would ended so much worst like this.
Not only disappointed with vol 21, I even like being slapped. It's not about whether I've read the whole novel or not, but even I don't want to know the full volume like this. and for me, who always believes in the stories made by Wagahara, believing that he will be the person who will make the main character live happily, I felt so betrayed. Wagahara is the person who always makes Emi a character who has serious inner heart problems than the others, but it turns out that he will also be a person who only uses those as bait.
Not because of maouemi. No. Not because of that. It was because when even I found out that Emi, one of the main characters, one of our favorites, ends up like this. Like an item that has only been used. No proper ending, no proper happiness, no proper confession, and still doing everything even if that must to sacrifice her own feelings to the one she love.
Wagahara was great. Really great. can make other people fall in love with the character, but willing to destroy the character in the end. Which makes the reader can do nothing but accept.
When I reread all of my posts on this tumblr, I didn't know what to do, so I laughed. Large, enormous. It's not us who make it up, even if we didn't thinking anything, all of that affectionate words from that damn demon, Wagahara's words, that were uttered by him when he described Emi's feelings, turned out to be all just anglers.
Not only that, the plot in vol 20, which can be said to be very beautiful, as if all of it was just a fishing rod, a commercial tool. And then after faith in 2 years waiting the series, suddenly wagahara gives a very different version of every character except Emi and Alas-ramus, at the end of the story. I even feel sick. what's with this ending ?!
Maou and Chiho, really, I am so happy for you both. You guys deserve each other..
I didn't even think he could turn Maou into someone we really hates in volume 21. As for Chiho, I am so done with her. There's something wrong with her. there is no way some highschool girl who dreamed her love will be a man with harem while she still at a first place from that harem. And not only that, suggesting your friend, Emi, to be the one of that harem of the man she loves. Yeah, some kind of sick selfish pleasure.
Not only that, at the end, the person who was going to Maou to go outside (apparently it was not a date, but it was also very confusing till Lunacain surrendered) it turned out to be another random woman, a person we don't even know who, but that person was often in history call of Maou. Can't you believe it? After all the feelings and developments that had occurred between Emi and Maou, Maou finally chose one person who he would easily forget and didn't even know about her plans to leave at all and just was about to go focused on other random women. No wonder Kaori (Chiho's friends) upset. Can't you believe? I'm so done. ah, but ... anyway, Chiho said she didn't mind sharing, right? Did you see how perfect this couple would be?
Oh my, what kind of bullshit is that? What kind of love is that? As an ex-shipper of maouemi, as a person who has followed, and analyzed their relationship in 6 years, to know the ending with Maou having this kind of shit relationship with .... I don't even know with who anymore, it's really a big slaps.
How wonderful Wagahara could be...
You know, Even Emi, can't express her feelings directly to Maou. Instead Chiho was the one who had to say that to Maou ... what was that. I'm okay if from the beginning of their relationship there was no progress at all, but even Suzuno got rejection and recognition, what happened to Emi?
And then Wagahara still have the gut to give us that kiss, no what's the point of it? If wagahara plans to get Maou and Chiho together, why do you bothered to write Emi only to make her feels hurt in the end? Do you hate Emi all this time? Is this your true feelings? Are all the feelings you wrote about Emi's character just a trap? No. Is that how you really feel? Do you really think that seeing Emi destroyed is very interesting? to the extent that you leave Emi and Alas-ramus, while other characters have their own good ending. Even the relationship between Chiho's friends, who I don't even know their name, get a happy ending (wait, there's something between them? who is that again?) maybe their scene is only 1 sheet or several lines anyway.
I can't believe I walked in and played on other people's traps for 6 years. I can't believe I didn't see this happening, the fact that there was a chance that Wagahara would end up giving Emi and Alas-ramus a bad end. Even worse than the end of the harem. no, much worse.
Hataraku-Maousama is the first series that has made me like this. Create analysis, content, publish it, write fanfic which has now been read by thousands of people, getting dozens of reviews. Makes me save up and ready to buy all the books. But it ended up with me being completely let down, didn't I.
No. I don't care about ship at all. but because I found out how unfortunate this main character will end. Why don't you make Emi and Alas-ramus live on Ente Isla happily? No. You can't do it, because you're also confused about Maou and Alas-ramus and Emi relationship that you've built for more than 8 years. Even Chiho also said that right? that we can't see other random man together with Emi, and there is also Alas-ramus. but, by force, you choose this kind of shit ending. Emi wasn't even mentioned at the end of the story. What the hell? Now we will know that Emi will be a young mother who is alone until the end of her life. I am wasting so much feelings just to get this. I am so done.
At the end, this is my last post for Hataraku-Maousama...
Plus, you may also notice that there are some posts on this tumblr that I deleted. I can't guys. this is will be my last post about this series, even there's still anon who asking about Hatamaou, but no. To make it clear, this is the last thing I will post for Hataraku-Maousama.
But you know what? I'm going to make another fanfic. I'll make it up. And no. I won't make a fanfic where Emi and Maou end up together. No, I'm going to make a fanfic (with multiple chapters of course) about Alas-ramus and Emi, where they will live happily and perfectly, with other men, instead of Maou, who only could watches them from afar.
And for the first time I'm not doing this for Wagahara and this series, no. I do this so that at least, people who share the same feelings with me will feel a little justice. Thank you for ending this story Wagahara, now we will take Emi and Alas-ramus away. Since you didn't even mention her till the end of stories, then I guess you can't complain on this one.
Wagahara, you can deal with all those 145 haters on twitter, even if you said to rewrite your volume, no I wouldn't be that easy to believe you anymore.
So, beside about my fanfic, I'm not going to write anything more about Hataraku-Maousama again. I will only focus on the next story that I will follow, namely Dr Stone and Spy x family.
Even if I find a better story in the future, Emi Yusa will still be my only and only one favorite heroin...
So guys, for Emi, I'm going to start this fanfic. A fanfic where the lives of Emi and Alas-ramus improve after the appearance of another man in their lives, to the point of making Maou jealous but helpless to approach them again. because why not? Maou could easily forget about Chiho and go out with another woman in vol 21, being jealous of Emi and Alas-ramus is not a difficult thing.
So, in September, I will start making this fanfic.
The Hero and Her Child: Together Reaching Their Happiness
So, I'll say it from now on, in that fanfic, Maou won't end up with Emi, he will just be a character who might be as in Emi's position in vol 21? Or so much worst. And of course the character who will become MC in this fanfic are the character that appear on LN as well.
With the title:
The Hero and Her Child: Together Reaching Their Happiness
Coinciding when vol 21 ended, Emi's daily life with her daughter, Alas-ramus, became a little different after Alas-ramus entered her elementary school years. She, who saw the loneliness in her mother's eyes, tried to fill the emptiness in her mother's heart. One day, Alas-ramus's meeting with someone from the past changed their daily lives. But who would have thinking, the person who Alas-ramus thought would not interfere, instead became a great opponent she had to deal with! This is a story about the relationship of a mother and child!
And even though I'm still not sure about it....
A fanfic which I took from Hataraku-Maousama Highschool manga series; I will try to continue update that, since there is nothing wrong with the ending, and it is not a work by Wagahara either, so maybe I will continue it!
So for those who expecting maouemi, that's the last thing I can do. And I am not even sure, I'll updated that fanfic series where Maou and Emi in the Hataraku-Maousama highschool manga.
Because in that story, Maou is still a completely a nice person right?
Afterwards....
I'm sorry, friends, I love Alas-ramus and Emi too much, I don't want them to end up like this in the main series. But I am so done with Maou, I don't want to let him (hataraku maou version of vol 21) even to touch them. So I am sorry but I will not change my opinion about this, I hope you understand.
And also, thank you for your supporting me in this story, and sorry if I've led people to a false hope.
Thank you again for you guys who always be with me and the other Emi's fans! And please wait for the next content about Spy x family as well as Dr. Stone!
For this, I will say I am no longer fans of maouemi pairing in Hataraku-Maousama LN anymore. And I am not Hataraku-Maousama LN series fans anymore. Because of that, let's continue a new pages together as Emi's fans and Spy x Family, as well as Dr. Stone fans!
Bye, Minna! I will see you in the next time!
Tumblr media
*Illustration from Mangaka of Hataraku-Maousama and no. I won't continue reading that manga as long as that Wagahara still meddling it plots
Edit: I am sorry guys. As what I said before, this is will be the last post for Hataraku-Maousama. Because of that, for everyone who sending me a questions, I won't answer any of them. Hope you guys understand. Thank you very much. 🙋
Edit again: Okay guys, I know it's very disappointed about Wagahara bait us and even still use this pairing as commercial reason. But please, if you want to give your opinion, don't use any harsh or rude comments such as death threats or something like that. or worst, even sent it to another illustrator from their new series. I read a review on bookwalker Japanese, even when they're unpleasant with the ending as well but they still use an appropriate words. there's a law for it and if Wagahara take it seriously, you will get a law for it. You must believe me I am understand your feelings, but please don't go too far. If you want to give your opinion, that's your choices I can't tell you what you must to do because I know you have a rights to so so, but please just at least use an appropriate words if you want to send it personally at Wagahara. Thank you and I hope we can get over and forget about it as soon as possible. 😧

Binge-Watching: March Comes in Like a Lion S2, Episodes 12-13
Tumblr media
Accurate depiction of my face right now.
Explosion
There’s only so long you can hold onto a bomb before it finally explodes. When pressure is building and there’s nowhere for it to disperse, the container holding it in is eventually gonna crack open. You can hold it as tightly closed as you want, you can bury it under locks and chains, you can do everything in your power to keep the lid firmly screwed on tight. But if there’s nowhere for the pressure to go, it’s only a matter of time before the stress of holding it makes the entire damn jar shatter into pieces. Sometimes, no matter how hard you true, keeping the peace just isn’t an option. Sometimes, you just have to let the bomb explode and pick up the rubble it leaves behind.
The bomb that’s been building in Hina’s class ever since Chiho was first targeted by bullies has finally gone off.
And the resulting fallout might be the best that Sangatsu no Lion has ever been.
God. God, god, mother of God, son of God, Jesus, Mary, Mother, Braham and Vishnu, GOD. Every time I think this show can’t possibly get better, it proves me wrong yet again. The climax of the bullying arc is one of the most gobsmacking, overwhelming, triumphant, glorious, beautiful, heart-stopping, cathartic, wonderful conclusions to a long-running story arc I think I’ve ever seen. Which only makes sense, because this entire arc has already been one of the greatest things anime has ever done. The story of Hina’s conflict with her bullies, and how Rei’s story intertwines with it, is right up there with the absolute best Gintama arcs. It’s up there with Yoshiwara in Flames. It’s up there with Four Devas. It’s up there with Shogun Assassination. If I’m being honest, it might not even be that far away from the Battle of Rakuyo. NO, I’M NOT JOKING. THAT’S HOW FUCKING GOOD THIS ARC HAS BEEN. It’s been so staggeringly good in so many different ways that I’ve barely been able to keep up with them all. It’s made me tear up more consistently than pretty much any other show, with my eyes leaking at least once every episode. This has been, without question, one of the single best stretches of anime I’ve ever had the honor of experiencing. And the catharsis of its conclusion, building off everything that’s come before, only makes the entire package hit that much harder.
And while I know there’s no way I can possibly do it justice, that’s no excuse not to try. Because if there’s anything this show has taught me, it’s that even the hardest challenges are ones well worth taking.
Nowhere to Hide
It’s clear from the moment Hina’s class returns from the school trip that the explosion is about to happen. Things have escalated too far, and now even the teacher is being targeted for daring to threaten their invisible hierarchy. Everyone’s breaking down, descending into their worst impulses... except for Hina. Because after Rei found her on that riverbank in Kyoto, after he gave her the courage not to be alone, she looks more alive than she’s looked in a while. She’s not lashing out in a desperate rage anymore; now, her rage is targeted. Controlled. Determined. As her classmates’ torment gets worse and worse, she’s only grown stronger and stronger. An unstoppable force is about to meet an immovable object.
And when the dam finally breaks, it bursts open in a flood of biblical proportions.
God almighty, the climactic confrontation in the beginning of episode 12 is fucking incredible. Hina refusing to take Takagi’s whispered gossip any longer and calling her out in front of the whole class? I was already cackling in shock, and we were only just starting. SHE FUCKING BLEW THE WHOLE SITUATION APART. She lashed out and terrified Takagi by almost slugging her, but pulled back just in time because she knew violence would just play into her hands. She intimidated the entire goddamn class into giving her the space to scream. She even stood up to her teacher when she tried to shut her down, refusing to take no for an answer. After so long suffering in the darkness, her problems hidden from the light of day and fermenting in despair, she forced the sunlight to shine on them and sear them with its disinfecting blaze. She smashed it so far apart that even her broken, cowardly teacher finally snapped, lashing out with years of repressed anger that rolls and spills like a fucking hurricane. Jesus Christ on a cracker, I was outright hyperventilating at this point. The way her teacher explodes her, the words pouring faster and faster, her attempts to keep the peace sloughing away in an unstoppable black tide of all the reprimands and cutting fury she should have been weaponizing from the beginning (”How do you have this much free time to torment your classmates?”), roaring and spilling until the entire classroom is swept away in the flow... there are no words. There are no words to capture just how fucking stunning this was to see. Not even a full-half episode had passed and I was already a fucking wreck. It finally happened. The walls finally came tumbling down. This festering rot that had been poisoning this class for so long was finally dragged out of hiding.
And with nowhere left to hide from it... the school has no choice but to finally face its reckoning.
Teacher’s Pet
Thus enters head teacher Mr. Kokubu, taking control over Hina’s class after their previous teacher has to be hospitalized for the anxiety this whole situation brings out of her. And good fucking lord, as if Mr. Hayashida wasn’t enough, Sangatsu has the balls to give us two of the best fucking teachers in anime history. The moment he first shows up and tells the class that this trouble interfering with their entrance exam prep is the price they pay for ignoring the obvious ticking time bomb in their midst, I knew we were in good hands. It’s really fucking amazing how quickly he’s able to take control of the situation; when you’ve got an adult who actually cares at the helm, all those seemingly insurmountable problems become so much dust in the wind. Hina’s previous teacher was broken down by years of seeing this exact same scene play out over and over again. Class after class, one of her students was excluded and bullied, Class after class, the same bad actors poisoned everyone in the community. It all become so overwhelming that she finally lost the courage to even try to fix things, retreating into her shell in hopes that she’d never have to deal with it again. And, well, we just saw how well that worked out for her. You can only hide from the issues under your nose so long before they reach up and choke you to death.
But Mr. Kokubu? Mr. Kokubu gets it. He gets how hard it is to teach and raise children in such a volatile environment. He gets that if you’re not prepared to genuinely be there for your kids, no matter how difficult it way me, then you’re not cut out to be a teacher. He gets that when it comes to bullying, the pressure on everyone involved is so extreme that you can’t just take a lack of solid proof as evidence that nothing happened. He gets that in these cases, the only proof worth considering is proof of the accuser lying, because otherwise it’s far too easy for bullies to get off scott-free. He gets that even after the bully in question says sorry, it takes more than empty words to constitute a genuine apology. He gets that no matter what pressures a kid’s dealing with, there’s no excuse for them to turn that pressure outward and hurt their classmates with no reason (”Keep this up and I’ll start talking about my childhood!”) But he also gets that even Takagi, as much as she’s hurt people, deserves a chance to understand why her actions were wrong and try to be better. It is so fucking hard to balance all that necessary compassion and justice, and it’s clear Mr. Kokubu still has doubts about how much he’ll be able to accomplish. But he’s here to try regardless, because that’s what it means to be a teacher. And hell, after spending so much time  being the World’s Worst Dad as Gendo Ikari and running into the worst possible luck as Hasegawa (yes, they share the same VA), he deserves a chance to let his best self shine through.
A True Apology
But what I truly love about Kokubu’s presence in these episodes is that he finally, finally takes the pressure off Hina. Hina’s had to deal with so much bullshit over the course of this arc, and she’s had to bear the brunt of it herself. No middle school kid should have to deal with all this angst just because the adults who should be helping would rather turn a blind eye. And frankly, I don’t blame her one second for not wanting to forgive her tormentors. There’s a world of difference between redemption and forgiveness; even if someone’s able to repair the damage they’ve done, they can’t always mend bridges they burned down. Hina’s got no obligation to forgive Takagi, or any of her enablers, for the hell they’ve put her through. All the hard work of making sure they’ve learned their lesson doesn’t need to fall on her shoulders. That’s what adults are for; to handle all the impossible problems that kids aren’t equipped to deal with.
But with that load finally off her shoulders, with the perpetrators stopped in place, the tension broken, and the cracked wounds finally starting to heal... Hina’s free. She’s finally free from the pain she’s been put through. She’s finally free from this unfair, unjust struggle she’s had to fight far too hard for. She’s finally free to start healing, to reconnect with herself, to leave the past months of suffering behind and start glowing once more. Hina won. She won. She survived the storm and came out the other side still shining bright. And folks, I just fucking lost it. I was crying pretty much nonstop throughout the entire second half of episode 13. From the moment her lost friend Chiho sent her a letter, re-connecting with her and re-establishing the bond this trial broke in the first place, I was a goner. They’re repairing what was broken. They’re restoring the joy they used to had. Even with everything they’ve gone through, they still have the kindness to keep living. But even that was nothing compared to how hard I started sobbing when some of her former tormentors finally apologized to her. God, that was incredible. That’s what it truly looks like to say “I’m sorry,” taking responsibility for what you’ve done and reaching out to try and make things better. And while Hina’s not obligated to forgive any of them, that doesn’t mean forgiveness isn’t worth a shot for some of them. So what if the cookies they all made together turned out gross? There’s nothing more delicious than the happiness that came from making them in the first place.
Mother, Mother
And that’s what I love so much about this arc; Hina’s victory was both entirely hers and also the product of everyone helping her. She put in so much energy, showed so much courage in standing against the darkness in her class, a shining light refusing to yield no matter how badly the winds stung her. But she’d never have mad it that far if it weren’t for all the incredible people in her life giving her the courage to do so. It’s a distilled essence of this show’s entire thesis: helping yourself and helping others are the same thing. No one can face life alone, but no one can face life as anyone other than themself either. It’s through the communities we form and the bonds we share that we gain the strength to stand on our own two feet, and to return the kindness we’ve been shown when the people we love need it just as much. And rarely has that ethos shined as brightly as it does with Akari in episode 12. I just about burst out into tears when she dreamed about her mother in the hospital, their final shared promise that Akari would take care of the kids in her absence. She’s carried so much on her shoulders ever since then, too much for one woman to bear. But through her bond with Hina, we see the full force of that promise made manifest. She takes Hina out shopping to all the food vendors rather than let her brood on an empty stomach. She promises her she’ll be with her every step of the way. It’s a show of courage and kindness so palpable you can feel it practically burning through the screen. Akari’s in over her head, with no idea how to do this right. But she’s here for Hina. She won’t let her be alone in this trial. And that’s the greatest gift she could possibly give.
But it’s also the greatest gift she could possibly receive. When they confront Takagi’s mother in school and the argument goes sour, it’s one of the most crushing moments of despair in the entire school. Akari is frozen with horror, no knowing what direction to turn. After all her promises, her determination to take her mother’s place for her sisters is dragging her down, down, down. But then, who else should save her but the girl she was trying so hard to protect. In the end, it’s Hina who saves Akari that day. It’s Hina who holds her when she’s crying and promises her that everything’s gonna be alright. Because Akari’s already fulfilled her promise a million times over. She’s raised Hina, she’s cared for her, she’s been by her side when she’s needed her the most. And now, Hina’s ready to return that kindness right back to her. To promise her that the courage Akari give her won’t be in vain. She’ll survive. She’ll fight on. She won’t bother wasting her life on the worst people in it. She’ll take what life has to offer, all the good and bad, until she’s able to graduate and make a fresh start, with new, better memories ahead of her.
Because Hina Kawamoto is strong enough to face it. She is kind enough to face it. She’s the girl who never backed down, never gave up, never lost faith in everything she was fighting so hard for. She’s the girl who’s stood against the darkness of the world and screamed it down too many times to count. She’s the girl who’s broken through so much pain, so much sorrow, with nothing but simple acts of radical empathy. She’s the girl who deserves every ounce of that empathy that’s been returned to her. She’s the girl whose courage had made me sob too many times to count at this point. She is nothing more or less than one of my favorite anime characters of all time. Yes, I’m absolutely comfortable saying that now; after everything she’s given to me, how could she be anything but?
And after all is said and done... after all the dust has finally settled... there’s one more person who needs her helping hand once more.
Light
Yes, it was not lost on me that Rei was pretty much absent from Hina’s big triumph. From the moment she called Takagi out in class to the moment Chiho sent that letter, this triumph was for her. She’s the one who stood up and brought the house crashing down, who exposed everything until it could no longer be hidden away, who finally broke the stranglehold that’s been choking her class to death. And looking in from the outside, Rei can only feel ashamed of himself. After everything he promised her, after his gallant oath that he would pay back the kindness she showed him, where was he when she needed him the most? Where was he at this crucial moment? Where was he all throughout this painful process? He promised to help her, but he couldn’t do anything. He could only watch from a distance as she sorted everything out, pushing through hardship after hardship he had to way to help solve. What right could he possibly have to bask in her newfound glow once more?
The answer, of course, is every right in the world.
Because what Rei didn’t realize- what Hina finally makes him realize- is that he gave her the greatest help imaginable: he was there. He was there to be a shoulder to lean on when the pressure became too hard to bear. He was there to listen to her problems and give her someone to talk to. He was there when she was in despair in Kyoto and pulled her out of her sorrow. He was there every step of the way, giving her all the courage he never thought he’d be capable of giving, returning every ounce of kindness and happiness she first gave him. He has nothing to apologize for, nothing to regret, nothing to take himself to task for because he didn’t do enough. Because all he did- all he had to do- was everything he possibly could. And it was everything Hina could have possibly needed.
And as she pulls him out of his despair, tears glistening in her eyes, holding fast to everything he’s done for her, biting his finger to shake him out of his stupor, facing down his inner darkness with the same blinding, unshakable radiance he helped her hold fast to... she starts walking at last. One foot in front of the other. Holding Rei’s hand tightly every step of the way. Spinning and dancing as she goes to share her newfound joy. Bringing light and motion back into Rei’s life for every ounce of it he just gave her.
Because they deserve everything they could possibly offer each other.
Because they deserve to help each other find happiness again and again.
Because they deserve to be the helping hands that pull each other along.
And as the sun’s light shines down brighter and more tender than ever before... two dear friends walk forward into the future together.
This, folks, is my new favorite scene of the entire show. Better than anything in the first season. Better than anything from episode 4. Better than anything else in the ten transcendent episodes this arc has lasted. It’s the pinnacle of joy itself, the most beautiful ending to this incredible story I could possibly ask for. It’s every single reason I love this show distilled into a single, utterly breathtaking moment of sheer bliss. I don’t know how I managed to stop crying by the time it was done. I don’t know how long it’s been since I’ve cried so hard, so often, so regularly. I don’t know how this show keeps astounding me again and again, in ways so special and raw I can never forget them. And I don’t know how there’s still nine episodes left to fall in love all over again.
But there’s one thing I do know: Sangatsu no Lion is one of my favorite fictional properties of all time.
It is everything I could possibly ask it to be.
And I can’t wait to see what else it’s still got in store.
Odds and Ends
-”Have you been having honest conversations with your daughter?!” MOM AKARI IS POPPING OFF
-Oh, this new ED is amazing.
-Have I mentioned how beautiful this show is? Because Rei watching Hina sleep int he sunlight is beautiful.
-”I can’t believe I fell asleep on her doorstep.” aksjdhsd you utter dork
I love this show. I love you all. Here’s to what’s still to come... next time.

That one super silly Rika x Ashiya fanfic I regrettably wrote
You know sometimes you just get this really dumb idea? And you’re talking with your friends and you mention it and they're like ‘haha do it!’. Ya, so I did it.
I know I had some stupid fun writing this, so I hope you all enjoy it too - these events take place sometime after volume 11. Don’t worry its SFW ;)
~~
“Dude, this storm is getting crazy, you sure Libicocco isn’t back to kidnap Chiho or something?” Urushihara asked while lazily leaning backwards from his permanent post at his computer.
“You know you shouldn’t joke about these things, remember what happened last time he showed up? Something about you ending up becoming more of a useless corpse than you usually are.” Was the snappy reply from across the room.
The windows in Room 201 of Villa Rosa Sasazuka were creaking and groaning under the immense pressure of the storm that had suddenly taken Tokyo by surprise.
“I hope Ashiya makes it back in time to make supper, I’m starving already.”
Maou checked his phone to see if Ashiya had sent him a message.
No new messages.
“Maybe we’ll have to get a MgRonalds delivery…Kawada’s gonna complain if I ask him to deliver in this weather…” Maou muttered as he stretched himself out on the floor.
“Dude, if you order delivery Ashiya’s gonna kill you. Plus, if Acies finds out she’ll make you order thirty burgers…again.”
Maou stared at the clock on the wall. 6:42pm. Deciding whether he’d rather face death in the form of starvation or Ashiya’s wrath, he let out an audible sigh.
~~
Elsewhere in Tokyo, the Demon General Alciel was fighting his own battle. The once ferocious general who had cunningly brought his enemies to their knees without lifting a finger was currently on a battlefield he’d never experienced before. The sweat on his face was starting to form neat rivers as it slowly slipped down his forehead and onto his cheeks. Shivering from the combination of wet clothing and air conditioning in the room he stammered:
“Ms. S..S…Suzuki, I’m terribly s.s...sorry. I meant n-no offence.”
He knew he had messed up.
~~
40 minutes ago, at Shinjuku Station.
Normally accustomed to riding the train during non-peak hours, Ashiya was quite frustrated with the hordes of businessmen that were constantly entering and exiting the train. When he finally managed to get out at Shinjuku station, he found himself being pushed and pulled along with the crowd as he tried to find the right exit.
“If I recalled correctly, Ms. Suzuki had mentioned we should meet at the ‘New South Gate’.”
Earlier that week, Ashiya had sent a message to Rika Suzuki asking if he could request her assistance in purchasing a new phone. Considering recent events, he thought it would be appropriate if he also had a mobile phone to contact Maou in case of an emergency. Rika had arranged they meet today after she got off work at six o’clock.
As Ashiya turned the final corner to reach the New South Gate, a familiar voice shouted out behind him.
“Heeeey! Ashiya over here!”
Rika grabbed Ashiya’s shoulder before he got swept further away by the crowd. Blushing ever so slightly, she pulled him aside, away from the steady streams of business men flooding through the ticket gates.
“Ah, Ms. Suzuki, I didn’t notice you there. My sincerest apologies for such an oversight”
“No, no it’s fine! I know its super busy right now so there’s no choice but to call out before I lose sight of you. Anyways let’s go before it gets any more crowded here.”
“It gets even busier than this?” A stunned Ashiya replied as he quickly followed Rika further into the station.
After a few minutes of navigation, Rika and Ashiya finally arrived at the Yamanote line platform headed towards Ueno. Ashiya had seen an advertisement for a big cellphone sale at a major retailer near Ueno station, prompting his request with Rika earlier in the week.
“It’s twelve stations from here to Ueno, so let’s see if we can snag a pair of seats. Keep your eyes peeled Ashiya!”
“Understood. I shall make amends for my previous mistake with due diligence in acquiring seats for Ms. Suzuki”
“Hey, no need to be so… oh the trains here, quick!”
Ashiya and Rika rushed over to a less crowded door on the train and hopped on. Unfortunately, not only were all the seats taken but this cart was packed with rush hour commuters. Rika and Ashiya made their way to the middle of the cart and stood face to face while holding onto the hand grips.
“Ms. Suzuki, it appears to me that most of the seats here are occupied by what seems to be…sleeping businessmen” Ashiya frowned.
“Don’t worry, they’ll end up waking up ten second before their station. It’s second nature to the veteran salarymen around here, believe it or not.”
Ashiya smiled at Rika’s casual explanation. He noticed that her work clothes were different than usual. In place of her usual purple and white vest and shirt, she was wearing a deep olive-green shirt with elegant ruffles down the middle. The red hairslide she normally wore had been replaced with an intricate blue clip with a butterfly pattern. She gave off a more mature aura, fitting of Rika’s role today as his guide, Ashiya thought to himself.
“Now Arriving at Shin-Okubo Station. The doors on the left side will open.”
Ah, eleven more to go. Ashiya realized that a fair number of people were queued to enter the train at this station.
“Ahhh, this is gonna be crazy packed! Hold on tight Ashiya.”
The doors opened, and dozens of people began to make their way into the train. Unfazed by the sudden influx of people, Ashiya held his ground against the increasing pressure from the other standing commuters trying to stuff their way into the train. Rika, on the other hand, was not faring too well but managed to stay on her feet.
The train lurched forward as it begin making its way to the next station. Suddenly…
“Ah!”
The momentum from the passengers pushed Rika off her feet into Ashiya’s chest. Being a bit short in stature, the sudden lunge forced her to let go of the hand grip and grab onto Ashiya’s chest.
“I-I’m s-sorry Ashiya.” An embarrassed Rika could barely get the words out of her mouth as she desperately tried to regain her footing.
“Not a problem Ms. Suzuki, please feel free to hold onto me until you’ve regained your footing. I do say, it’s amazing how you manage to survive these crowds every day on the ride back home. This almost feels like a new type of battlefield.” Ashiya looked down at the panicked Rika, his whiskey brown eyes gauging whether he should lend a hand.
His strong, steady gaze made Rika squirm even more. Nervously glancing downwards, she carefully fidgeted her feet around to find a position that would allow her to stand up straight and keep her balance. The train’s constant rocking offered no help with her attempts.
Another sudden turn forced her to cling onto Ashiya some more. She could smell his clothing, which had a strong smell of the softener that Ashiya frequently used. Her grip on his shirt let her feel the shape of his chest muscles. They were much more toned than she thought. His usual UNICLO wear didn’t do his body any justice, she thought. Rika allowed her mind to wander like this for a moment…she suddenly felt pangs of heat coursing through her body. She was starting to lose her composure.
“Ah what am I thiiinkiinngggg!” Rika whispered to herself.
“I think we’re almost at the next station Ms. Suzuki. I believe I have the perfect opportunity to acquire us some seats, as that gentleman beside us seems to be preparing to stand up shortly.”
Ashiya’s brief interjection brought Rika back to her senses. The adrenaline had begun to flow after her series of distracted imaginings. Luckily, they both managed to grab a pair of seats on the train at the next station.
Rika stared down at her handbag, trying to avoid all eye contact with the aloof Ashiya, who was busy gawking at the sheer number of commuters on the train.
~~
“Now arriving at Nippori station. The doors on the right side will open. For transfers to the…”
“Two more to go! We’re almost there Ashiya”
“I’m sorry for having to put Ms. Suzuki through all this…”
“No, its my pleasure! Plus, it beats having to go home alone in these crowds, it will be a lot less busy by the time we’re done.” Rika finally mustered up the courage to look back up and smile at Ashiya. The moment her eyes met with his, she felt her chest tighten a little.
As the train began to move again, Rika noticed that all the new passengers were carrying soaking wet umbrellas. She looked out the window behind her to check the situation.
“Ashiya look! It’s absolutely pouring out there. Did you bring an umbrella?”
Outside, a large storm had begun to brew. The rain was almost pouring down sideways, meaning the wind was also blowing in full force.
“Ah, yes. I do keep a small one on my person just in case something like this does occur.” Ashiya grinned as he felt his jacket pocket to confirm he had brought his umbrella.
Rika let her mind wander for a split-second, imagining her and Ashiya sharing an umbrella and walking through a rainy Ueno park on the way to the electronic store.
“What am I thinking?? I’ve devolved into a friggin’ generic high school girl!” Rika thought to herself while biting her lip, trying to come back to reality. Her composure had already begun to crumble, even before the main event had begun. Face flushed and heart pounding she covered her face with her hands.
The sudden screeching of the train being brought to a stop brought her to reality, again.
“Attention all passengers, due to a sudden change in weather the Yamanote Line will be suspending service until further notice.” The authoritative voice on the intercom announced. “We will momentarily be stopping at Uguisudani station, all passengers are advised to disembark and seek other means of transport.”
Ashiya suddenly stood up. His back to Rika, he keenly observed the situation. It hadn’t even been a month since the previous ‘storm’ that resulted in both his and Rika’s lives being turned upside down for weeks. He tried to detect any sources of demonic or holy energy nearby, but found nothing out of the ordinary. Deducing that this weather might truly be from natural causes, he sat back down and turned towards Rika. Seeing her behaviour for the last few minutes led him to believe that she was also worried about the possibility of a demonic or angelic attack.
“It seems that we have nothing to be worried about, Ms. Suzuki. This storm seems to be one hundred percent natural, I assure you.” Ashiya gave a warm smile towards Rika, who was still recovering from self-inflicted embarrassment.
She gave a quick nod to Ashiya, unable to think of an appropriate reply. The revelations made to her in the past few weeks were sinking into her mind. Angels, demons, other worlds… it still made no sense to Rika. All that she was certain of was that the man sitting beside her, Shirou Ashiya, was currently making her feel emotions she knew all too well. Regardless of his demonic background, his white-blond hair and taut stature made her eyes stray more often than not when they were together.
The train slowly started inching forward, towards the next station: Uguisudani.
Rika thought back to the first time they had gone out shopping together. Remembering how she wished that the walls between her and Ashiya could break down, even just a little bit, made her realize how much things had and hadn’t changed since then. Learning about his past, had in a sense, widened the gap between the them. They both came from different worlds, Rika having no part to play in the epic battles of the Ente Islanders that took place. Thinking back, she missed being a naïve girl enraptured by the sight of the kind yet mysterious man that suddenly came into her life. Her train of thought was interrupted by the train’s arrival at the station.
Ashiya and Rika made their way out onto the platform along with the other passengers on the train. The rain was pouring at such an incredible speed and angle that not even the roof of the platform was able to stop them from getting completely soaked.
“Shall we go to a nearby coffee shop and wait there until this storm subsides? I wouldn’t want Ms. Suzuki to get soaked and catch a cold in this weather.” Not to mention, should Rika catch a cold, both Maou and Emi would harass him for not properly taking care of her while they were out together.
“Sure, I think I saw a sign for a small family restaurant down that street, let’s go there!” Rika exclaimed as she pointed Ashiya towards the direction she assumed the sign pointed towards.
Ashiya went to open his trusty pocket umbrella before they set out from the station. The moment he opened it and stepped outside, a large gale of wind snapped the umbrella’s top off. The force of it snapping pulled the handle out of Ashiya’s grip.
“Ah...”
He had purchased that umbrella soon after he moved into Japan with Maou. The umbrella, along with any sentimental value it had, was carried away by the wind. He’ll have to budget for a new and stronger one later.
Seizing her chance to live out the small fantasy she had on the train, Rika stepped up: “Don’t worry Ashiya I have an umbrella we can share h-”
With a short woosh~ her umbrella also slipped out of her hand and disappeared into the distance, probably chasing after Ashiya’s umbrella to keep it company.
Rika stood there, speechless. The torrents of rain were relentless, and she knew they had go somewhere quickly before they both ended up being swept along with their umbrellas in the rain. The cold was already getting to her, slowly seeping through her clothes and causing her to shiver.
“Time is of the essence Ms. Suzuki, let us go quickly!” Ashiya quickly draped his jacket over Rika’s head and placed his hand on her opposite shoulder to hold it in place.
The warmth of his hand gently grasping her shoulder made Rika’s heart begin to race, she gripped her handbag with both her hands and brought it to her chest as they began to race through the streets.
As if sensing the sudden increase in Rika’s heartbeat, the storm picked up its pace. Rika let out a small yelp as the rain battered her sides like a barrage of arrows.
“Ms. Suzuki! Please hang on for one more moment, I will get us to safety.” Ashiya, his eyes filled with raw determination, gingerly picked up Rika and sped towards the end of the street. He couldn’t let Rika stay out in the rain any longer. Looking around, he couldn’t find the family restaurant, but he spotted a nearby building with a sign indicating hourly room rentals. He recalled Urushihara telling him that these types of buildings, called ‘Net cafés’, existed as a place where one can rest for hours with various facilities, including laundry and showers, for an extended period. Prioritizing drying off, he decided this would be the most appropriate choice.
Meanwhile, the sudden princess carry that Ashiya sprang onto Rika had dealt serious mental damage. She voiced no protest as Ashiya picked her up and lifted her high up against his chest. The gears in her brain had stopped functioning long ago.
“O-ok…thank you.” Her voice was barely audible, but Ashiya could feel her cold body shivering ever so slightly.
The next couple minutes flashed by like a blur for Rika. Ashiya gently put her down on one of the soft chairs in the lobby of the building they entered before heading towards the reception. She noticed him asking a few questions before getting a set of keys and walking back over to Rika, who had begun to regain her senses. He offered out his hand to help her get up from the chair. Rika, who had already lost all sense of shame, happily obliged and took Ashiya’s hand. Its gentle embrace caused Rika’s face to feel pangs of warmth.
“It seems we are just in luck, as there was an available room for us to dry off in.” Ashiya led Rika towards the end of the hallway where their room was located.
“You’re fine paying with a hotel, Ashiya? Isn’t that expensive for you?” Was all Rika could come up with, seeing how the normally stingy Demon General just spent a large portion of money without a second thought.
“I agree, it is unfortunate to have to spend money on such short notice, but it is an emergency and Ms. Suzuki’s safety is my top priority. Besides, the rates for this Net Café is quite cheap considering the laundry services they also offered.”
Rika smiled to herself when Ashiya mentioned her name. Even though she hadn’t told him her feelings, she was always happy to find that he cared so much about her. Most men would start revealing their true nature and act overly familiar with her at this point, but Ashiya’s gentlemanly attitude even now showed that he was a true man of class.
“You mentioned laundry, but I have nothing to change into…so I don’t think I’ll be able…”
“Don’t worry Ms. Suzuki, I mentioned this to the receptionist and they said that outfits could be provided to us with the room, at a very minimal cost. I was quite impressed, but unsure what they meant when they asked the theme of the outfits. I requested we receive the most normal set, so long as they fit us both.”
They arrived at the end of the hallway, Ashiya fumbling with the keys for a moment before managing to insert it correctly into the lock. Still latched onto Ashiya’s hand, Rika timidly followed Ashiya into the room, trying to asses her current situation. She looked around the room for a moment before realizing something…very shameful. The once broken gears in Rika’s mind started spinning in full reverse. She could feel her pulse pounding in her forehead as her eyes darted around the room. Ah, no this can’t be.
Ashiya had yet to turn around and piece together the look of horror that had begun to develop on Rika’s face. He was genuinely intrigued with the colorful layout of the room. Urushihara’s explanation of a Net Café did not mention the spacious and extravagant room he was currently in. A small basket was neatly placed on the bed, beside a couple of clean bath towels. He stepped forward to see what its contents were. He found a colorful assortment of round mints wrapped in neat foil packaging.
Picking one up, he turned around to offer it to Rika, who had been silent since entering the room.
“It seems there are some complimentary treats for guests in the room. Would you ca-”
The great strategist and Demon General Alciel could have never predicted Rika’s reaction.
“P-P-P---PUT TT-THAT DOWN RIGHT NOW ASHIYA!!!!!!!!!!” Rika’s voice rose quite a few decibels as she barely managed to stammer out her sentence. Her eyes were stained red and the expression on her face showed that she was on the cusp of breaking down.
“D-DON’T TOUCH THOSE” She pointed an accusing finger at the ‘mint’ in Ashiya’s hand.
Every single alarm inside Ashiya’s brain went off at that moment. Rika was acting completely normal up to this point, albeit a bit quieter ever since getting off the train. With the possibility of an enemy attack being second to none, Ashiya realized that the reason lay in something he had done. Further assessment of the situation had to be immediately done before coming to a conclusion.
“What is wrong Ms. Suzuki? If you are injured I can look and see if there’s anything I can do to help.” He kept calm as he took a few steps towards Rika.
“STAY AWAY.” Rika began yelling. She knew she was being unreasonable, but the situation had already gotten out of hand in her mind. Her consciousness was floating in and out. Part of her knew Ashiya was being naïve, but her instincts as a woman were taking over for her already fried brain.
Realizing he was only making things exponentially worse, Ashiya backed down. From the look on Rika’s face, Ashiya could tell that she was exhausted, but also afraid of something. Could it be that she finally saw him as the demon that he truly was, and being locked in a room alone had terrified her to wits’ end? The great Demon General Ashiya of the past could have cared less about the opinion of one lowly human, but the fact that Rika’s actions made Ashiya feel empty on the inside was an unmistakable sign that he had changed.
“I’m terribly… sorry Ms. Suzuki! I will go ahead and wash up, so please relax and keep the room to yourself.” Hiding the tinge of sadness that he had just felt, Ashiya grabbed the basket and towel and rushed into the bathroom.
Rika sensed the slight falter in Ashiya’s voice as his soggy figure made its way to the bathroom. She was being cruel to the man she loved yet could not stop herself. She knew she had to explain to Ashiya the issue behind this whole situation before she imploded any further. Water still dripping from her arms, she grabbed the remaining towel off the bed and began to dry herself off.
Meanwhile, in the bathroom, Ashiya took a good look in the mirror at his drenched figure. He must have looked quite pathetic in front of Rika. The bitter feeling in his heart wasn’t going anywhere. He must make amends with Rika somehow.
“A quick warm shower should help clear up my mind.”
Turning on the shower to allow the water to warm up, he grabbed a bottle of liquid soap from the basket he brought with him and undressed himself.
“This really isn’t a hotel isn’t it…” Rika shook her head. She cupped her hands and placed her head in them, so no one could see the desperate expression on her face. Once Ashiya gets out of the bathroom, she’d ask him a few questions and explain to him what their current situation was. That way he’d also feel a bit of embarrassment and tensions would hopefully dissipate between the two of them. Her hopes were beginning to rise when –
*BANG* … … *THUD*… … “Aaaa…”
“Ashiya? Was that you?” Rika was certain the noise had just come from the bathroom. “Is everything OK?” Had something happened inside the bathroom? Could it have been an enemy attack? Rika was still unfamiliar with the allies and enemies of the Ente Islanders she knew but still considered that something heinous may be taking place on the other side of the wall.
No answer.
Taking a leap of faith, Rika opened the door too the bathroom and peered inside, expecting the worst.
She wasn’t too far off.
“…Ms. Suzuki? I’m sorry but could I enlist your help for a moment here? I seem to be experiencing some issues” A half-naked Ashiya was sprawled on the floor of the bathroom, with only his underwear on.
“Y-yes?” Rika took a step back and hid her body behind the door. Still peering from around the corner, she observed the fallen Demon General in all his glory.
“It seems that the complimentary soap provided by this establishment is far below standards!” Ashiya declared in a defiant tone. “The residue it leaves is extremely slippery and has made it extremely difficult for me to even walk! If you would be so kind as to pass me my towel Ms. Suzuki, I will clean myself up and remove myself from this pitiful state.”
Crestfallen, Rika was speechless. Normally even the thought of her seeing Ashiya shirtless would cause all the neurons in her brain to fire simultaneously, but now she was slowly dying on the inside. Extra careful not to step into the room, Rika nimbly grabbed Ashiya’s towel from off the counter and tossed it at his face.
“Many than-”
Rika shut the door mid sentence.
Ashiya thoroughly dried himself off with the towel, quietly cursing this strange soap. Perhaps it was a unique kind of soap and he had not been taught the correct method of application? Nonetheless, more important matters had to be attended to - making amends with Rika over whatever had happened.
“Ah, I forgot to bring an outfit with me to change into!” Ashiya swore at what seemed to be his twentieth blunder of the day.
Towel neatly wrapped around his waist, Ashiya had no choice but to go back into the room and fetch the outfit himself. Asking Rika to do something again would be extremely dangerous. Back onto the battlefield once more.
Sitting in the corner of the room, shoulders raised, and hands placed on her knees, Rika stared down the still shirtless Ashiya that crept out of the bathroom towards the closet. She had a clear idea what to tell Ashiya to resolve this messed up situation in her mind, but perhaps it could wait until he was dressed again…
Ashiya opened the closet.
He… couldn’t understand the meaning of the closet’s contents. A maid outfit, nurse outfit, cat costume and…some strange clothing made up of black leather and strings. Did the receptionist mistake his request for an outfit for… something else? The only outfit that could even fit Ashiya’s body was the odd leather suit. Likely designed for some sort of horse riding or climbing, with all the metal rings attached to the torso. It seemed odd to him that medieval clothing like this existed in modern Japan.
“I guess I’ll wear this until my clothes are dry.” Ashiya pulled the outfit out of the closet.
Rika couldn’t believe her eyes. She could only stare as Ashiya pulled out the costume from the closet. The moment he tried to slip it over his head, she knew she had to act, or else she’d die of shame before being able to explain anything to Ashiya.
“MR. ASHIYA…ah…umm… could you please listen to me?!” Rika’s hoarse voice surprised herself, the nervousness was getting to her. “There’s something you should know about this room before you put that…”
Unfortunately, Ashiya’s head was currently stuck inside the costume by the time Rika had begun her protests. Head tilted at an obscure angle, he was truly the epitome of a man who had lost his wits.
“Mmmmphh-ss-s-orry Ms. Suzuki I couldn’t mmmngg-hear wh—”
Rika had had enough.
Dashing from her chair, she darted to Ashiya and forcibly ripped the costume off his body. Grabbing his exposed sides, she pushed him onto the bed before running into the washroom and fetching his wet clothes. She threw the soggy clothing onto the body of their lifeless owner. Fists clenched she walked back into the bathroom.
“Put your clothes on Ashiya. Right now. You have thirty seconds.”
He didn’t need to be told twice, Ashiya had his clothes on and was kneeling on the floor when Rika walked back out thirty seconds later.
It didn’t matter why but this was his only means of escape from the current situation. Standing at the other end of the room, Rika had a deep frown on her face.
“I’m only going to ask this once, so listen carefully.” Rika took a deep breath.
She couldn’t look Ashiya in the eyes. Shifting her focus to the floor, she continued.
“Do you know what a love hotel is?”
“A l-l-love hotel?” Was the confused reply. Head bowed, Ashiya was searching through all his past experiences in Japan to find a reference to this ‘Love Hotel’ Rika mentioned. He only recalled a few things.
“It is a place where couples go to experience time together in privacy, f-from what I understand…”
He wasn’t wrong, but Rika knew she had to bridge the information gap that Ashiya was clearly missing. Her face reddened at the thought of the question she was about to ask.
“Ashiya, how do demons…reproduce?”
It was Ashiya’s turn to be at a loss for words. Rika had thrown a curveball in Ashiya’s direction that he couldn’t have expected in a million years.
“I’m sorry Ms. Suzuki but I don’t understand the purpose of this…”
“Do you know how humans do it???” Rika’s strained voice showed that her composure was near its limit.
“Y-y-yes?”
“Well, that’s what this room is for.” Rika tightened her fists a little as she told Ashiya the crux of the issue.
“B-b-but why this strange clothing and soap?” Ashiya was genuinely concerned why such odd things were placed in the room.
“Humans… have certain things they do to…umm…set the mood for these things…” was the soft reply from across the room.
Ashiya could sense the tension in Rika’s voice. He realized that he must have given Rika many mixed messages when he dragged her into this room, considering it had something to do with human mating. Still unaware of the bizarre customs behind the deed, Ashiya figured it would be best to just keep quiet and let Rika relax. He would have to buy her an apology gift on a later date for sure.
“I understand why you must have been so confused Ms. Suzuki. Please accept my sincerest apologies.” Ashiya stood up and gave a deep bow towards Rika.
“A-ah, n-no it’s fine, since you didn’t know what kind of room it was…well…” Rika nervously shuffled her hands into her pockets before continuing. “I guess I kind of overreacted as well and started yelling at you instead of stopping to explain things.” She knew the adrenaline had gotten the better of her.
“I accept full responsibility for what has occurred here today, it was my fault for failing to provide proper accommodations. Please rest assured I hold no ill-will towards you Ms. Suzuki.” Ashiya had a small innocent smile on his face.
Seeing this, Rika’s heart warmed up a little, along with her clothes.
~~
The tired figure of Shirou Ashiya labored up the stairs to 201 Villa Rosa Sasazuka in the moonlight. It was half past nine when the storm had finally let up and he and Rika could leave the love hotel. Although the tensions had been mostly lifted, Rika had adamantly declined his offer to accompany her home. The bitter feeling from earlier had crept back into his heart during the long train ride back.
“Humans are such…such…” Ashiya was too exhausted to finish his sentence. He opened the door to room 201 and quietly stepped in. The moon provided just enough light for him to tip toe in and put his bags down. Sighing deeply, he sat down with his back to the wall. He stared at the moon for a short while before looking around the room to see what the state of the room was.
At the other end of the room there was a large plastic bag overflowing with MgRonalds wrappers. From the sheer size of the bag, Ashiya assumed that at least 20 burgers had been ordered. His brain didn’t have enough energy to even get angry about that right now. Maou and Lucifer were both sleeping soundly in their usual spots, sprawled out without a care in the world.
Ashiya opened his bag. Even though they didn’t ‘use’ the room at the love hotel, being the stingy man that he was, he snuck some of the complimentary ‘mints’ and soap into his bag to take home. He carefully took them and placed them in the cabinet under the sink. Even though he was still unsure of their exact use, he had paid for the hotel room and wanted to get his money’s worth. The finances of the Devil King’s Castle on earth were no laughing matter, and Ashiya would keep anything if it meant they could save a few hundred yen later.
He let out a quiet yawn. Better get to sleep soon, so he could wake up and make breakfast for the two demons sleeping beside him. Ashiya quietly prepared his bedding and slid under the covers. What a long day it had been for him.
He fell asleep almost immediately, completely unaware of the ticking time-bomb he had just placed under the cabinet.
“aa...Ms. Suzuki…how good to…mmm…see…no…I” Ashiya muttered in his sleep.
But that’s a story for another day...

Tumblr media
as what I have been promise for, I will make a new fanfic which take the event after vol 21 ended! But like i said, this fanfic wasn't for maouemi fans cuz even though there will be maouemi scene at it, the story really not made for someone who want see Emi ended with Maou (because this fic was taken after vol 21, and you know how I hate Maou vol 21 version, even Alas=ramus dislike him in that vol, so...yeah). Thus fanfic just dedicated for Emi's fans who didn't like with the ending where Emi and Alas-ramus doesn't get their happiness in the real series, or if you want to see Chiho suffer and Maou jealous. And, this fanfic will also bring a problem between Shepira Earth and Shepira Ente Isla as the plot.
If you guys still interested with this fanfic, you guys could read about the characters and the summary for this fic below of ‘keep reading’ first! Or you can just click the link here if you want to read this fanfic immediately! Enjoy!

Characters Introduction
(please not, I wasn’t the original illustration for this fanart, so if you find the face is similar with a certain character that because I took it from pinterest then I photoshop, edited, colored, and remake it so it looks like character which I want.)
Main Female Character:
Tumblr media
Emi Yusa: 23 years old in Japan (21 years old in real)
Gender: Female
Race: Half Angel Half human
Power: Having Daath, and Yesod within her power and become the strongest human in universe (according to Daath)
Job: Currently a share holder of Café with Sadao Maou
Living: In Apartment Villa Sasazuka with her children
Personality: always on guard with people she hasn't known for too long yet.  Warm and caring to those she cared about, but sometimes strict if that comes for her children benefits.  Always thinking about other people rather than herself (I honestly confused if I should put this in weakness or not). Have a strong responsibility to protect and consider everyone feelings or safety. It's hard to showing her real feelings to someone, because of that she often referred to as a tsundere type.  Due to the strict and tough past, combined with all the responsibilities she now bears, it made Emi look more a lady and more mature compared to other normal girls of the same age as her.  Have a high sense of justice and are always wise in certain circumstances.
Weaknesses: have emotions that sometimes change and are weak.  Even though Emi herself often hides it.  Because she has been a Hero since she was a child, Emi can't act selfish at all (one of her personality which I honestly dislike from her) Very weak to romantic things because of that, she often blushes easily
Like: Rillakkuma and Alas=ramus
Dislike: illogical things, and when people do something injustice
Main Male Character
Tumblr media
Timmy Goldman (in Japanese, can be written as Timi and I will use this version in the story as well): 26 Years old (*I put a wrong number in his picture tho lol
Gender: Male
Race: Second Generation Shepira Earth of Kether
Power: Have a similar ability with Kether (his father) but weaker compared with him.  His eyes will glow if he activates his power, and sometimes he will also emit a mist around him like Amane, but the difference is that Amane has a black mist, Timi has a golden mist. (I will leave his power just like this, until we reach a certain chapter)
Job: running a marine ship family business in Hawaii and America (description from vol 12)
Living: even though he comes from a rich family, he does not have a permanent home because he is always busy with work (and since he found it was unnecessary to have home) But he has apartments in various cities and countries, and will occasionally visit his father's villa on holidays in Hawaii or if it was an orders.
Personality: never shows his original expression.  He only often uses his smile on his face.  Manipulative and good at negotiating.  Even though he is always smiling, but he has a cold aura and is difficult to approach. he always easy to approaching women, because of his sweet and calm demeanor, but until now he have never considered in any relationship.  Although he often hides it, Timmy often misses his mother who died.  Very protective when it concerns the feelings of any children. He got the nickname Manipulative Prince in his company and between Shepira Earth Family because of his calm and cool characteristic like a prince, but still expertly able to tease the other or play with people's feelings without destroying his cool image.
Weaknesses: Dislikes mistakes. and is sometimes too serious in the job or task given.  Just treating emotions or feelings as one of the tools that can be used or manipulated, that's why never considering other feelings if that will lead into some mistake or if that unnecessary.  (I already write his dark past as well regarding this, but we will get it on certain chapter in the future)
Like: Coffe, and following the schedule.
Dislike: Mistakes. But he hates people who selfish the most.

Weakness: when it comes to her mother, she can be very protective and even attack anyone who hurts her mother's feelings.  Sometimes it's still too innocent and speak out frankly.  Still unable to manage the malfunction she has because she lives outside Ente Isla

The other character from this series will appear as well, such like Suzuno, Urushihara, Gabriel, Chiho, Ignora, and as well as other shepira from earth and Ente Isla. I will update it if i find how their illustration would be. But because this is important for the stories, I will also put the explanation regarding Shepira (Which I got it from internet of course)
Shepira from The Tree of Life
1 Keter (Earth=Goldman, Ente Isla= Not Born yet) is Crown, as the highest Sefirah, is situated about the intellectual triad and is designated as “superconscious.” Keter is infinite source, a state of being, the field of possibility. It is the ultimate unseen reality. Color gold represents purification, conductivity and malleability.
2  Chochmah (Earth= Harianak's father, Ente Isla= Not born yet) is Wisdom: the seed of an idea, insight, inspiration, intuition, inchoate awareness. Color blue-black represents emergence of something from no-thing.
3 Binah (Amane's father, Ente Isla= Not born yet) is Understanding: fleshing out an idea, formulating the story, fashioning the structure. Color dark red represents the “something” congealing.
4 Chesed  (Earth = Uncle George, Ente Isla = Just born) is Unbounded Love: expanding ideas, enlarging the circle, empathic concern. Color blue for flow (water).
5  Gevurah (Earth = already born, Ente Isla = Iron) is Strength of Boundaries: setting limits, saying no, seeking focus. Color red for definition (stop).
6  Tiferet (Earth = already born, Ente Isla = Not born yet?) is Beauty: harmonizing and holding opposing energies, having compassion. Color yellow radiates light.
7  Netzach (Earth = already born, Ente Isla = Not born yet?) is Victory: overcoming obstacles, orchestrating intention. Color green for power.
8  Hod is (Earth = already born, Ente Isla = Not born yet?) Surrender: acknowledging what is, accepting and giving way.  Color orange for restoration and hope.
9 Yesod (Earth = already born, Ente Isla = Alas Ramus and Acies) is Foundation: telling or twisting your truth, testing authenticity. Color purple for growth and renewal.
10 Malchut (Earth = already born, Ente Isla = Nuxe, and...I forgot) is Sovereignty the final, lowest Sefirah of the culmination of the flow from Keter through the Sefirot, from possible to actual. Malchut is what manifests or is expressed. Color brown for source-ground.
11 Da’at (Earth= Mikitti , Ente Isla = Utsushihara) is Knowing: integrating the idea, identifying with it, an intimate connection. Color gray for integration.
Okay, the reason why I put my fanfic on AO3, was because i want to add another illustration and picture within the story as to for reader can imagined the story better!
