And honestly? And this is just my opinion. I prefer one world over Olive town. Olive town was a huge disappointment and I found myself enjoying One World WAAAY more, actually playing it for several hours straight several days in a row. With Olive Town, I forced myself to play it. I was bored of the story and ALMOST every character. I find One Worlds cast of candidates a ton more interesting. AND THE TOWNS!!! I LOVE THAT THEY’RE NAMED AFTER DESSERTS FROM DIFFERENT PLACES, AND ARE THEN BASED ON SAID PLACES. I’ve been playing the series since about 3rd grade and in my opinion, One World is fitting the old harvest moon style better than Olive Town.

But look, if you like Olive Town, then great! Glad you do! Please leave us who like One World alone?? Please stop actively hating on the game and making others feel bad for liking it?

Also look at One Worlds Harvest Goddess she is so very fine I just. I. She’s SO FINE.

so in honor of pride and gay month:

not to sound cheesy as hell but! idk for the first time in my life i feel secure and proud of my identity and im glad you lot (all 85k) are here w me for it. i hope everyone of you is having a fucking fantastic day, month, year, and so on. even if youre not, it will get better. if you cant come out due to family, or location, or youre just not ready, you deserve to be proud too, even if no one knows. knowing yourself is more important than anyones opinion of you. and if you dont know yourself quite yet? youre still wonderful and valid as well. youll get there somepoint, you have all the time in the world. even if you dont get there, youre still valid and cool as hell. if you are out, whether you show it off, or whether you dont, youre still valid. theres no right way to have pride in being queer, and theres certainly no wrong way either, unless you tear down others.

so, its pride month, 2023, and i know things look like shit, but its bound to get better someday.

stand with your friends and your community, and even if you arent part of it, stand by with us anyway.

Tbh the part about Goncharov that I like a lot is the part at the beginning of the film when Katya reminds Goncharov to change the time on his watch to fit the new time zone once they reach Naples,

Firstly because it begins the film pretty quickly with the symbolism of the clock, which we then also see that exact watch when Goncharov dies when it cuts to it quickly and we see the cracked glass screen and the time, being exactly the same as the start of the film, just on the other side of the 24 hour period, symbolising the full revolution that Goncharon and the other characters have done from the beginning of the film ,

And secondly because it immediately establishes the relationship between Goncharov and Katya, that being of Goncharov focusing on the really big picture aspects of his plan, while Katya is behind him picking up (or picking off later in the film) his loose ends or things he doesnt focus on. we see her being the mastermind that she ends up becoming later on and how she really is more of the brains of the operation for the most part. Without Katya, he wouldn't have changed his watch, wouldn't have kept up with the events in Naples, and so on and so forth.

I haven’t seen many people talk about how influential Goncharov (1973) has been on cinema. You can see how this film inspired others like Bound (and even fucking Shark Tale, but for the purpose of this post I’ll be focusing on Bound)- a mafia story with queer themes and a gruesome torture scene, where the collision of these two drives the conflict. I almost think of Bound as an AU set in America where Katya and Sofia are the protagonists. In any case, I want to give credit to Bound as it’s own film and not some lazy rehash of Goncharov. They’re both different but so similar at the same time and I love it all so much-

i was tagged weeks ago by @crackers4jenn (*waves* sorry it takes me ages, i'm a scatterbrain)

last song: had to check my youtube history because i rarely listen to music and apparently it was precious by depeche mode on July 12th, lol. it's the soundtrack at the end of bones 1x10 and rewatching the episode always makes me want to listen to the song again.

currently watching: of the shows that are still on right now, only what we do in the shadows. (i think how i met your father s2 officially ended, i mean to pick nancy drew back up but i don't remember where in s3 I fell behind) but i'm in a perpetual process of rewatching/watching so many things, just since the beginning of the summer i've rewatched s3-5 of community, the entirety of black books, went back to white collar which i had abandoned after s2 and watched s3-4 in full before getting distracted, i am also in a neverending rewatch of castle and bones that's been going on since like 2016. earlier this year i was rewatching rizzoli&isles, warehouse 13, grimm, etc. did not finish them all. i jump around a lot depending on my mood. also mean to get back to my lucifer and wynonna earp rewatch at some point. i very rare finish shows and then i get back and have to start from the beginning and then i don't finish anyway, it's a vicious circle, i don't like saying goodbye. also i have no attention span. i guess technically i am also in the process of watching hawaii five-0 but i haven't watched any new (for me) episodes in a loooong time because canon is such a drag compared to the happy au land i've been living in. i do also watch some shows that are on hiatus right now but i probably wouldn't even remember them all. i only remember when they come back. suffice to say i watch a lot of tv lol.

currently reading: embarrassingly, nothing. only stuff that comes up on my tumblr dash 🤷🏻‍♀️. i haven't even read fanfic since ao3 was blocked in my country in april of this year. because of how my brain works if you add an extra step to something i am used to doing (aka i have to turn on vpn to open ao3 links) i am just that much less likely to do it. i miss losing myself in a book but my brain is too preoccupied by my blorbos to be able to invest in anything new.

current obsession: probably shocking to no one who follows me, it's mcdanno. this ship ate my brain in november of 2021 and since then its hold on me has not lessened at all, probably got worse, lmao. i found myself unable to gather any feelings about any of my old long time ships because all that space has been eaten up by steve and danny's insane chemistry and frustrating and wonderful epic love story. also within the mcdanno fandom the obsession of recent months has been building/brainstorming aus with aron @emphasisonthehomo (best rp partner one could wish for) . and i guess you can call making mcdanno screencap edits and metas an obsession of its own.

If I did commissions would anyone be willing to commission me?

My last day at my job is tomorrow and I’m unable to substitute teach for now since I go to college Monday through Friday next semester. I gotta help pay my sister’s gas money which I was gonna do anyway, but I need a way to make money.

I’m just trying to figure out if I should do commissions on here or sell stuff on Etsy or something. I just need enough to get by gas-wise since Illinois prices suck ass.

ok the fruit stall scene in goncharov has been talked abt but i havent seen anyone talk about the fact that after sofia buys katya the pomegranate and gifts it to her, katya eats the whole thing. every seed. and how the implications of that relate to the fact that they run away together at the end. its a reflection of persephones myth—katya chose to eat the pomegranate seeds (to stay with sofia). sofia can be seen in two ways here: as hades, taking katya away from everything she knows and loving her (and katya loving her back, going willingly—she knew what she was doing when she ate the seeds and when she left goncharov); or sofia can be seen as akin to demeter, guiding katya away from the darkness and death for as long as she can (and, again, loving her).
