HARRY: we loved him in 1D, we love him even more now. No fillers, no face job, healthy eating, regular training. Looking back and thinking what would become of him, and looking at him now, we feel he has met and exceeded our expectations.
Who’s gonna break it to this anon? LMAO he has 100% been constantly playing with fillers. And Botox. And has had a coke problem in the past. Not sure about now.

Finally got around to watching a bit of And Just like That last night. I will forever be team Steve always deserved better.
I will also never understand why people want to remake their shows and then proceed to ruin everything people loved about the original show.

Christine and Bebe: The Altos' Lament
Audra McDonald vs. Christine Baranski Bebe Neuwirth vs. Bernadette Peters
In continuing to prove everyone is connected to everyone, Bebe and Christine have long-standing ties that bind in both the stage and screen communities. In addition to Bebe's guest appearances on The Good Fight, led by Christine Baranski (more on that later):
Tumblr media
Another Frasier guest stars who squared off against Kelsey Grammar, Christine as Dr. Nora Fairchild appeared as a one-off character with her own KALC radio show. It goes about as well as you'd expect. And of course, two-time Emmy winner Bebe Neuwirth was and is the inimitable Dr. Lilith Sternin (my beloved). They do not cross paths, but I, for one, think they would have gotten on like a house on fire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In 1997, Bebe and Christine were joined by Ann Reinking in a big brassy Broadway tribute to the legendary Lauren Bacall. Christine and her defined collarbone, began the evening with "Welcome to the Theatre" from Applause, a musical adaptation of All About Eve. Bebe, in a gown she would re-wear for her 2013 album, followed hot on her heels with "Broadway Baby."
youtube
It is a gift to have this clip of Christine, Bebe, and the late Annie Reinking in a trio for the ages. Three triple-threat actor's actors who didn't need to belt to the rafters to delight and astound. Remember the days when they let altos be altos?
(There's also the Chicago connection of Christine playing Mary Sunshine in the movie, but the movie and I have problems, so we're just going to move along.)

Martyn Ellis (1 of 2) British actor Martyn Ellis first appeared on British TV in 1987′s Rockliffe’s Babies, which ran for 2 series, about a Detective Sergeant and his squad of young plain-clothes PCs. He also played the part of Friar Tuck in The New Adventurres of Robin Hood on British TV for 4 series starting in 1997.  Martyn has mostly done theater and musical comedy thoughout his career with occasional appearances on TV. Whenever he is on TV, he adds varying degrees of levity to the character. One of his best roles came in The Sarah Jane Adventures, playing a Slitheen, of an alien race introduced in the Doctor Who series. Photos from 1987-2007.

Thanks for the tag @kay-elle-cee! I feel like such an imposter lately since I can't seem to bring myself to write lately, at least outside of journaling.
AO3 Username: Elastic_Heart31
1. How many works do you have on A03? 15, but 2 more are hidden for now.
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count? 765,116
3. What fandoms do you write for? So far just Harry Potter. If I was braver I would write the Before Sunrise idea I have or attempt to write a fleabag fanfic. I'm also experimenting with more original writing.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Maybe Tomorrow
Iris
It Had To Be You
Found (though currently hidden)
In Between (also hidden 😅)
Those are all Harmony, but my top Jily fic is:
At The Beginning
5. Do you respond to comments? I try my best with my ADHD brain. I truly appreciate when people take the time to let me know their thoughts.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Hmm. Not sure since some haven't ended some of them yet. Maybe Plans? Since we know what happens in canon.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Probably It Had To Be You with it's two part epilogue of fluff.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Sigh. Yes. One of the many reasons I've lost my enthusiasm for writing Harry and Hermione fanfics.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yes, though often against my better judgement haha. I have no idea what to classify it as. Maybe I'll borrow Kelsey's word and say vanilla.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? Nope!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not sure.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Maybe? I've had people ask, but unsure if they are posted.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes, hopefully will get back to it someday!
14. What’s your all time favorite ship? Hmmm I've had so many over the years. The only ones I've attempted to write though have been Harmony and Jily. They've also been consistent since childhood.
Special shout out to my teenage love of Pacey and Joey from Dawson's Creek, even though adult me thinks he deserves better and that show is terrible.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? At this point it feels like all of them 🙈
16. What are your writing strengths? No clue. I've been told I write emotion well. I've also been complimented on my ability to write children realistically.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Probably grammar and sentence structure, I still feel lost a lot of the time when it comes to all of that. I earned to write in English after learning French though it's my native language, and I see how it still impacts me. Also, I tend to be the worst with over writing and then having to edit the hell out everything!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
If it makes sense in the story. I've seen it work well in a lot of literary books I've read. And one scene in particular from UaS (if you know, you know).
19. First fandom you wrote for? Harry Potter. One and only (so far).
20. Favourite fic you’ve written? Hmm I'm probably proudest of Maybe Tomorrow. It's one that feels personal in ways that are hard to explain. I also think I grew a lot as a writer while working on it.
In terms of Jily, I've really enjoyed my drabbles that aren't on archive. I do hope to expand on some of them someday.
Tagging: @myst867 @annonymouslyblonde @cordovabox @nodirectionhome-ao3 @glitterwitch1
Also if you feel like joining considering yourself tagged!

Lion I was singing Joanna from Sweeney Todd cuz I’ve been hearing the josh groban version all over tiktok and now I’m contemplating fully getting into it. Where do I start??
Tumblr media
(insert public apology for using boomer meme templates to get the point across)
would that i had finished the deranged comic sans powerpoint 101 for sweeney todd by now i would link it here but as it is it still needs a lot of work before i'm even remotely comfortable posting it hOWEVER that doesn't mean i can't still be of some assistance
(disclaimer: i am about to throw a LOT of information at you and you are by no means obligated to try and digest it all at once please instead do so at your leisure/your level of interest instead)
sweeney todd 101 cliffnotes version for people who want to get into sweeney todd by someone who is way too invested in this show
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
sorry to anyone who doesn't like the office this is the only cold open that matters to me in this particular stage of life rn
so for those who aren't already familiar with sweeney todd (or have a passing familiarity with it either via sweeney todd related tiktok content or other similarly related content consumption) one of the first things i would recommend starting with is the 2007 tim burton film since it's a pretty good place to start (and also easily one of the best film adaptations of a musical imo). you can find it on hbo max or on youtube for 3.99 if you don't have and/or want to pay for an hbo max subsciption. (you can also 🏴‍☠️ it because capitalism sucks. remember to sail the seven seas* responsibly!)
Tumblr media
johnny depp and helena bonham carter in sweeney todd (2007) dir. tim burton
now if you're interested in other productions (and/or not particularly interested in the film) there's the 2014 half concert half staged proshot starring emma thompson as mrs. lovett and christian borle as pirelli that you can find on youtube for FREE (here is a link to act one and another link to act two AND a link to the opening on it's own because it is absolutely PHENOMINAL i genuinely can't recommend it enough).
Tumblr media
emma thompson and welsh opera singer sir byrn terfel jones in sweeney todd: the demon barber of fleet street in concert 2014
there is also the original 1982 proshot starring some of the original cast such as angela lansburry (unfortunately len cariou, the original sweeney does not reprise his role BUT george hearn does a phenominal job in the role). you can find this one on amazon for 3.99 to rent or it and a plethora of other musical proshots on BroadwayHD for 11.99/mo but unless you're interested in watching other musicals and plays on BroadwayHD i would suggest renting it on amazon or 🏴‍☠️ it for free if you know where to look (i honestly don't know what pirating musicals looks like outside of yt bootlegs and i am still very very new to actual bootleg trading so you'd have to ask someone else)
Tumblr media
the late dame angela lansburry and george hearn in the 1982 proshot version of sweeney todd
and finally, my personal favourite, the 2023 broadway revival. unfortunately we only have five singles that have (officially) been released (which you can find here on spotify) but we also have the official ballad of sweeney todd performace from this year's tony awards AND there IS a way to watch it if you are like me and can't afford to fly to new york and see it at the lunt-fontanne theater (just dm me for the details). this is quite possibly my favourite version of this story and if great comet wasn't already an indicator that josh groban is a great fit for broadway this DEFINITELY is imo.
Tumblr media
josh groban and annaleigh ashford in the 2023 broadway revival of sweeney todd that i am definitely very normal about
other recommendations include sideway's video essay on the music in sweeney todd, christine baranksi's version of worst pies in london (and her criminally underrated version of a little priest with kelsey grammar in a 20th anniversary concert version that i would give my left kidney to see in full), imelda staunton and michael ball's version of a little priest from a 2012 revival, patti lupone as mrs. lovett playing the tuba in the stripped down 2005 broadway revival, lin manuel miranda's sweeney todd themed hamilton parody for broadway cares featuring the funniest jonathan groff cameo i've seen in my life (and the recent ham4ham version performed by the current 2023 revival cast) and my last braincell when confronted with literally any sweeney todd related content these days.

My top ten favorite Christmas movies
Rise of the Guardians. Technically not set at Christmas but Santa is a character in it.
An American Tail - Actually set during Hanukkah so it's technically a Hanukkah movie.
10. Nearly all versions of A Christmas Carol. They may all tell variations of the same story but I have a soft spot for them. The animated one with Tim Curry, the Kelsey Grammar musical, the Jim Carey motion capture version, the 80s Scrooged version with Bill Murray.
In fact the ONLY version of A Christmas Carol I don't like is that awful 2019 BBC mini-series version that adds child molestation, sexual assault, urinating on a grave, non-Forgiveness and all together just a mean, cynical version... That version missed the point of the story entirely and taints all other versions by simply existing. That's how much I hate that 2019 version.
But I stand by that I love nearly all versions of A Christmas Carol. There are several adaptations and only one bothers me.
Specific favorite version of a Christmas Carol is The Muppet Christmas Carol - Despite being done with muppets this is one of the most faithful adaptations of a Christmas Carol while also having some great muppet humor.
9. ALL the Rankin Bass Holiday specials, stop motion and cell animation. I love all of them. And they're mostly a shared universe like Universal's Monster movies or the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Only some of these are movie length. My favorites change based on my mood whether Twas the Night before Christmas, Nester the long eared Christmas Donkey, or Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July.
Currently my favorite is probably The Life and adventures of Santa Claus, based on the novel by L. Frank. Baum. It's technically set in the same universe as The Wizard of Oz books but you'd have to read the original novel to know that. There's also a cell animated adaptation but I prefer the 80s stop motion version.
In this story Santa was raised by faeries in an enchanted forest and the story is actually these immortal beings determining if he's worthy to be made into an immortal too because if he isn't made immortal he's destined to die that night. Needless to say, they grant him immortality.
Again, my favorite is subject to change based on my mood.
8. Legend of Hell House - I'm only putting this on the list out of technicality. The movie ends on Christmas day and that's when the ghost is defeated. I first saw this movie late at night with my friend Lorie. We decided to watch it because Roddy McDowall was in it. And we were so sure he would die. He was the sort of character that dies in those sort of movies. He had been in the house before. He was meek, timid, and kind. He was nerdy. It was a cliche that someone like him would die. It was a relief and surprise when he turned out to be the hero of the story.
7. Jim Carey's The Grinch. I have a soft spot for this once since my mother loved it so much.
6. Marvel Superhero Adventures: Frost Fright! Most people don't even know this exists but it's a Marvel superheroes Christmas special / movie. It even taught me the old Nordic version of Santa (may even be a persona of Odin). Jolnir (Yule-near). However in this version Jollnir is a light elf.
5. The Addams Family Christmas. Technically not a movie but an episode of the 60s Addams Family, it's just very sweet. The kids are told Santa isn't real so all the adult Addams decide to prove to them that Santa is real by dressing up and giving them gifts. Meanwhile while they're distracted, the real Santa shows up.
4. Ghostbusters 2 - I know this sounds weird but it's set right after Christmas and ends on New Years day and there's a lot of Holiday feel to it. Also I kind of like Ghostbusters 2 more than the first one. I'm weird. I also loved the Real Ghostbsuters animated series episode where the Ghostbusters accidentally bust the ghosts that haunt Scrooge and then they had to rescue them and save Christmas.
3. Edward Scissorhands - I love this movie and somehow often forget that it's a Christmas story even though it's a bitter-sweet fable about the origin of Christmas snow. And it has such a beautiful, Haunting score by Danny Elfman. The score is gorgeous. And Nostalgia Critic points out that much of the atmosphere comes from Danny Elfman's haunting score. When Kim is dancing under the block of ice without the music the scene is weird and awkward. The music makes it.
One time my mother and I were at the mall and I saw this nice anniversary edition DVD of Edward Scissorhands in a steel case. My mother and I went to McDonalds and while at McDonalds she handed me the money and said "Go back and get that Edward Scissorhands." That was my favorite Christmas gift that year.
2. Over the Garden Wall - This is a TV mini-series but when spliced together it makes a movie length story. And all the visuals are inspired by vintage New England Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas cards. Bonus mention: I forgot to mention the TV mini-series adaptation of Hogfather. It's a bit like Nightmare before Christmas. Set in Terry Ptatchett's fantasy Discworld, Death (The Grim Reaper) has to play the part of The Hogfather (Their world's version of Santa) one year. And it's actually very sweet. There's a scene where he saves a little match girl that chokes me up each time. And I love the moral that we need to believe in intangible / impossible things like love and justice in order to make them real.
1. Nightmare before Christmas - This has been my favorite movie since I was eleven-years-old. Not just favorite Christmas / Halloween, or Tim Burton film. Just favorite film, period.
I saw this with my Birthday money, it came out right before I turned twelve. I paid for my mother, brother, cousins and I to go see it. As soon as "This is Halloween" started I knew I was hooked.
