Noticed people seemed to like my art, so here y’all go! Ken’o, the Guardian of Disgust. While being the 2nd weakest of the 7, he is known for emotionally manipulating his victims into doing his whims. Also just generally a mood!

[translation+lyrics] 透澄オプスキュリテ by BΣretta Crossrain
Think I haven't identified this hard with something I translated (supposedly) for fun ever since karasu. Lyrics down below and see you all next time.
--------------------------
透澄オプスキュリテ (Tousu Opusukyurite, Cristallinite Obscurite)
Composer: Acedia
Vocals: BΣretta Crossrain
Zutto mitomerarenakatta
Jibun no naka sukuu tokoyami
I’ve never acknowledged
The harrowing darkness within me
Kagerinai dareka furete wa
Mune no oku ga hidoku itanda
Upon touching anyone without hiding it
My chest aches terribly
Akogare risou kataru tabi
Umerarenai mizo ni kitsuki
Tarinai mono bakari no
Jibun he no nikushimi afureru
I always talk about what I yearn for
But it leaves me with a void that cannot be filled
I’m just an unfulfilled person
So my self hatred grows further
Ashi wo fumi hazushi ochiteyuku no wa
Watashi ga tsukuru opusukyurite
Sashinoberareru te sae kobami
Shizumu koto wo eranda
I fall as I miss my step
Into the obscurity I’ve created for myself
Rejecting all the helping hands reaching for me
I instead choose to sink
Yume wo miteita ano hi no jibun wa
Tada no keigai narihateta
Junsui na kibou wa kuchi
Zetsubou he to kawatteiku
In a dream I had I saw the me from back then
Steadily being reduced to shambles
My pure hopes rotting away
Being replaced entirely by despair
Itsushika mi ni najindeita
Jibun wo kashokusuru tokoyami
Now this self has become normal to me
The me that’s been engulfed by darkness
Kousai ga hiraiteiku you ni
Shikai ga sumiwatatteiku
My eyes have been opened
I can now see clearly
Kono hitomi ni utsutta no wa
Ikiba wo nakushite yodonda
Katsute kagayatta ambition
Me wo somukeru koto dekizu ni
What you can see in these eyes
Is a person who has lost their way
One who once had such radiant ambition
But now cannot move on
Jiko ken’o no sue tadoritsuita no wa
Watashi ga unda opusukyurite
Yoru no tobari ga orita
Shitone no you ni kokochi yokute
At the depths of self-loathing
The obscurity born from myself
The curtain closes upon this night
And I’m comfortable where I am
Yume wo miteita ano hi no jibun mo
Itetsuku hanagoori no you ni
Mata saku hi wo machiwabite
Ima koko ni ikiteiru
In a dream I saw the me from back then
Like a frozen flower among ice
Waiting for it’s day to bloom once again
For this is where I want to live
Ashi wo fumihazushi ochiteiku no wa
Watashi ga tsukuru opusukyurite
Kurayami de koso kitsuku
Hitosuji no usuakari ga aru
I’ve missed my step and fallen
To the obscurity I myself created
However among the pitch darkness
I’ve noticed a faint light
Ukeireta nara yurushi itsukushimu
Dokomademo sunda yami wo
Osore wo sute aishitara
Koko ga ibasho nanda to shiru
With sympathy and forgiveness
The darkness is quite clear
With love I can let go of my fears
For I know this is where I belong
透澄オプスキュリテ
Tousu opusukyurite
(Within my) Cristallinite Obscurite

[SONG TRANSLATION]
ダークルーム (Darkroom) by Dios
KANJI

ENGLISH
I sit together with you in cold darkness,
our pulses the only sound in the room
A feeling like I could fly on words alone,
a blend of omnipotent arrogance and impatient irritation, disgust
These hours are like endless waves– there’s no point in counting them
Now that we’ve broken each other’s wings,
I feel like we can trust each other
Since we can’t go back once we find an answer,
let’s just hug our knees to our chests, and stay right here
Darkroom, darkroom, problem
We were supposed to be fulfilled by something here, but
if we’re going to remain here in this room, unhurt and without light nor sensation,
it would have been better if I’d never known happiness
I can’t let you go out into
this world where countless beautiful but tiny needles sprout
Yes,
an illusion of flying towards brilliant pain
You can let go of silly things like the future–
Let’s stay, and laugh mockingly from the top of the staircase
Our vision is just dyed in bright red,
the dawning sky isn’t actually burning
We’re just stepping on each other’s shoes;
let’s pretend we don’t realize, and face ahead
Darkroom, darkroom, problem
We were supposed to be fulfilled by something here, but
if we’re going to remain here in this room, unhurt and without light nor sensation,
it would have been better if I’d never known happiness
I realized that in order to not want to die,
all I have to do is fly
One day, I found that your eyes were sparkling pitch black
It looks like light has managed to pierce into this solitary room
so I’ll be going now
Bye-bye

MAGI side characters
Reviewing the side characters of the movie MAGI - Tensho Ken’o Shonen Shisetsu.
Luis Frois, the missionary whose works are considered to be highly valuable sources of Sengoku Japan. Aside from writing the history text "História do Japão”, he also had the opportunity to closely associate with Nobunaga and Hideyoshi. His personal insights on them are the basis of how Nobunaga and Hideyoshi are represented in many works of fiction.
Alessandro Valignano is an inspector of missions, who visits the missionaries in field. He brought the man later known as the African samurai Yasuke. He was noted to have strong desire for local converts to be brought up as priests, not rely on only European priests for teaching.
“Mesquita”, presumably Diogo de Mesquita. I didn’t know who this is, so I’m not 100% sure I got the correct person. Diogo de Mesquita was a rector of a Jesuit seminary in Japan, also the founder of a hospital called the Santiago Hospital. In the movie, he was presented as in some sort of rivalry or opposition with Valignano, though I don’t know how true that is.
Francisco Cabral, another priest in opposition to Valignano. Unlike Valignano, who encouraged the priests to try to adapt to local customs, Cabral stoically refused to conform to local customs, and was said to be averse to having the missionaries even do the courtesy of learning Japanese language.
King Felipe II of Spain
Pope Gregorius XIII
Galileo Galilei.
(I’m not entirely sure why/how he’s featured, though in 1580-1590 I believe Galileo was pursuing education and might just meet the protagonists in passing)
“Dorado”(?). This appears to be an original/fictive character since there’s no other identifier. A half-Japanese half-Portuguese man who is some sort of brother/guardian figure to the young Japanese envoys.
