Y/N: “So, Al? My uncle, Kent says you can increase your size. That true?”
Albert: “Yeah. I go big. That's what I do.”
Y/N: *Smiles flirty* “Oh, really? Is that only thing about you that gets bigger and harder?”
Albert: *Blushes and stammers words*
Maxie: *Smiles* “I think you broke him, Y/N.”

The last Bruises chapter made my heart swell! The kids being so happy and Matthew asking about his future farm animals!!! (Also Kate knowing Anthony would NEVER give away Nelson's baby). Everything about it was so cute and great and I'm so sad for this fic to end but also it's been such a great ride. Will we see any Anthony & Edwina & Goose interaction in the epilogue? I have a feeling they'd have the funniest/most awk dynamic
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Matthew and Edwina will be headed to Kent in the epilogue next week, yes!
And Matthew has a few goals in going to Kent. He is sure, he can convince Anthony sell him the foal they've named Lily. He would also like a lamb, but that is secondary. He's excited to see his Nephew, of course, but also he wishes to observe how Anthony is as a father. Matthew is sure he's a very good one and he'd like to model himself off Anthony.
Just imagine Edwina shaking her head as Matthew follows Anthony around the farm with his own tweed cap on his head. He just thinks Anthony's very neat, and he'd quite like to be a man like Anthony who loves and supports his family.
Kate enjoys teasing Anthony about his little shadows, because he now has two. Gregory and Matthew.

Thursday 10 March 1836
8 ½
11 20
no kiss fine but dull morning F38° at 9 ½ and breakfast in an hour - out at 10 ½ having been ¾ hour looking over Journal - with Mark Hepworth with carts and men + 2 fillers (Robert Mann’s men) as yesterday - then with Robert Mann + 4 at the hollow till Mr. Freeman came to me bringing his nephew from Kent with him - came to look at the new road as I had told him at the rent day I should like him to see the road and give me his advice - took him along the road to the Lodge - he was against lagging and advised cutting up the thorns and branches and laying them (on new cart stuff) as a foundation for the rubble - mentioned the Landymere stone - thought perhaps it was fast in water - the stone of Mrs. Lancashire and Brooke sold - did not know at what price - but some stone near sold at 3/6 per yard - wages and rents must alter or stone could not be sold at the present prices - the best customers in the country - In London the stone most sold at any price - for it cannot lie in the vessels and some are obliged to pay 6d. per ton per day for ground for the stone to lie upon and stone has been hawked about in carts in London streets and in the country 10 miles from London - took Mr. F- to the rock-work - explained - he said it would be rather inconvenient to let me have men and tackling, but he would do it for me - I said then I was equally obliged as if he let me have the men, but that I could manage another way on this he said oh! no! he could manage for me - and it was agreed (he said he would do it for me as cheap as anyone) that he should come next Monday week he finding men and tackling for getting and loadening the stone at the quarry and Nelson to let me have Hinton and men to manage at the rock-man - Mr. F- to speak to and arrange with N- told F- I had had an application for the stone in Joseph Hall’s land, and asked him (F-) to value it for me - had F- and his nephew in the north parlour till near 2 - before going away F- said he had a favour to beg of me to change the stone-road in yew trees wood or have more time - to get the stone the stone in - in fact, this was the real reason of his coming however little he might think I should find this out - said I had often congratulated myself on having Mr. F- to deal with instead of anybody else - that I grieved over the spoiling of the wood and would rather change the road than give more time but that I would do the best I could but could never give more time -A - had Parkinson in the hall - brought him into the North parlour - he wished to have a new public house built in the tan-house garden - 4 rooms on a floor - 5 yards x 5 yards and 1ft. and the back rooms would do 5 yards x 4 yards with 4 good chambers and brewhouse and stable - less would not do - could not afford to pay more than £30 per annum pays £20 a year at present - the building he has would make 5 cottages - thought a new Inn would be built for £300 then when I said no! said well for £400 but could not pay than £30 per annum - A- to consider of it, and give him an answer in a few days - he said he should not stay where he was - then A- had luncheon downstairs - sat with her there and then upstairs till she went to Cliff hill and I to the workmen (Robert + 4, and Frank and my own cart) plant at the meer-head - keep Wood and Samuel Booth planting till 6 when rain came on and from 4 to then sent Robert + 2 to the stubbing at the hollow open drain - came in at 6 ¼ - wrote about a French or German lady’s maid ‘speaking English not essentially necessary’ and sent my letter this evening to ‘Madame Lecomte 11 Bryanston street Portland Square London post paid’ - dinner at 6 ¾ - coffee - A-‘s French as usual - we dined on Pork - too rich for us - it disagreed with both of us so bilious we could not see a letter of A-‘s French book - A- 10 minutes and A- ½ hour with my aunt poorly tonight - came upstairs at 8 55 - tea - rather better for it - but very bilious - wrote all the above of today till 10 10 at which hour F40° fine day but dull till rain at 6 and afterwards for some time - Mr. F- told me the union cross would be sold on young Mr. Thompson’s (of chapel of Briers) coming of age in a year from this time - Messrs. Rainer and Beaumont, brother-in-law to Mr. Jonathan Akroyd, bidding against one another for it - they had already got it up beyond Mr. Mitchell’s valuation - asked F- to get to know for me what it was valued at - F- said the buildings were very bad repair - all the roof would want taking off and the timbers renewing - I said all that would not be done for nothing - F- said it was an excellent situation of which I agreed but made no further remark thinking to myself I see whence the opposition to Northgate will come - F- had said Carr was the fittest man for it - I merely said I thought he had neither capital nor character but, in fact, he had never named Northgate to me - But thought I, I must mind what I am about there will be opposition anyway with Carr or without him  - I had best have a man who would be more difficult to oppose than Carr - A- would not take luncheon till I got her persuaded at last told me she had been unhappy the last two or three weeks had not pleasure in anything never felt as if doing right would not take wine was getting too fond of it afraid she should drink was getting as she was before afraid people would find it out and began to look disconsolate oh oh thought I I see how it is cheered her up said we would get off in May would go to Paris first this made me stay with her so inconveniently long  on leaving her thanked god as I walked along for all blessings to myself and fervently begged his help and felt comforted and my spirits good and my head clear

a trip downstairs
1.3k, G, Diana/Zatanna, Pre-Relationship fluff
Diana needs Zatanna's help identifying an artifact. This is not the first time she's called on for Zatanna's help in this matter. However, the tiny favors pile up and have Zatanna wondering what Diana's end goal is. Especially since she knows Diana doesn't need her help for many of the missions she handles.
Is Zatanna being used as a mysical encylopedia, or is there something else going on?
Pridewrites Day 5 - using both occult and cryptid.
Zatanna hadn’t glanced up from the tome she casually flicked through after hearing the large, oak double doors of the Justice League Dark sanctum creak open. All day it acted like a turnstile. Detective Chimp ambled in with one bottle of midnight black scotch tucked under arm he brought from his bar, Oblivion. Nelson Kent and Khalid floating by, with their capes fluttering behind them, discussing the intricacies of spell craft in that special way they do; being mentor and mentee, uncle and nephew, former and current Doctor Fate. Even John burst onto the scene in a fog of smoke; staying for only a few minutes before leaving in the same manner he arrived, muttering about antique wardrobes and blustering docents. Each new entrant left Zatanna be, and she returned the nicety. She figured whoever it was would do the same.
           She was wrong.
A hand set itself on the page she recognized as not her own. Zatanna’s gaze trailed off the glyphs and traveled up the tanned, slender fingers. She skimmed the silver bracelets and continued forward, following the curves and ridges of her biceps until finally meeting her bemused stare and quirked lips.
Diana leaned her hip against the desk. “Zatanna.”
“Diana. What bring you down here?”
“I have a favor to ask.” Diana removed her hand from Zatanna’s tome and began digging inside a sack that sat at her feet Zatanna hadn’t noticed was there. Zatanna tempered her disappointment as Diana revealed a stone statue with miniature cracks along the joints that were chiseled over the years by the heavy hand of time. “Can you discern the type of creature this statue was carved to resemble?”
Zatanna closed her work, letting Diana place the statue down. She didn’t take it from the Amazon. It looked heavier than she could carry and confirmed this as she began her inspection. It required greater strength than Zatanna had, but also patience to not snap it with brutal application.
She rubbed a gentle thumb along the figure’s chest. “This is excellent stone craft. Where did you find it?”
“On the outskirts of a shrine nestled in the Amazon.”
“Was it a shrine within the Esquecida territory?”
“No, it was far from Akahim and any of the other outposts.” Diana chuckled, flicking the cheek of the statue. “Besides, if it were – would I not have gone there instead of bothering you with such a simple task?”
“You’re never a bother, Diana.” Zatanna ignored the curling warmth bubbling beneath the surface of her skin, mouthing the words for a glamour that hid how rosy her cheeks grew. She hoped Diana didn’t notice. She was too afraid to check, and instead focused on her examination.
Most of its distinguishing features had been worn down over time. Its expressionless face with distinguished brow stared straight ahead. Fists were connected to hips as if the carver forgot to separate them. A noticeable penis still hung between its legs, telling Zatanna that whoever this statue was of they were most likely male. Beyond that, though, the only other features that stood out to her were the fins jutting from the forearms and backs of thighs, as well as a noticeable dimple cratered atop the head Zatanna suspected to be intentional.
She had an idea what this statue honored. Reading the inscription at the bottom, in an ancient language she’s seen half-a-dozen times in books much like the one Diana interrupted her reading, confirmed what she thought.
“What were you doing down there anyhow?”
“Beatriz DeCosta – Fire – she called for some help with a rash of disappearances amongst her former colleagues in Rio.”
           “Beautiful women kidnapped?”
           “It would seem.”
“Surprised this isn’t international news, then.”
Diana sighed, slumping forward further and pushing her hair to one side so it didn’t hide her face from Zatanna. The curve of Diana’s exposed neck, free of the lush, curtaining tresses, caused Zatanna’s spell to falter under the increased strain of heat.
           She maintained the illusion.
“Batman and I tracked the kidnappers to the very shrine this statue came from, but that’s where the trail went cold. He couldn’t find any of the usual markers of transportation, both standard and advanced; his assumptions turned to magic. We both figured you might be able to help.”
“Of course…” Doubt wrestled within Zatanna’s chest, a feeling she hated associating with the Amazon Princess. It would not bow. In fact, at this moment, it clamored with an intense fury. Worse, Zatanna agreed with its rantings. That there was an odd bent to Diana’s logic she couldn’t explain.
Unfortunately, Diana noticed this unease. “Can you not divine the creature?”
“What? Oh, no.” Zatanna straightened in her seat, steepling her fingers under chin. “It’s an Encantado. Evil Amazonian dolphins that can shapeshift and kidnap girls.”
           “Then what troubles you?”
“That you had to come to me at all for this.”
Diana frowned, the pleasant bow of her lips turning down. “If I really did come at a bad time, you could’ve said –“
Zatanna cut her off with a raised hand. “I meant what I said, about it not being a bother. But Diana… you didn’t need my help with this.”
           “How so?”
“I’m sure the Esquecida have more first-hand experience with the Encantado, seeing as they share the same waters. Even if it weren’t Encantado committing these kidnappings, their expertise in South American folklore and creatures is vastly superior to my general knowledge of global magical beings. And, speaking of knowledge Diana, if I had to say one person who knows more about myths and legends than me… is you.” Zatanna dragged her finger across the indented letters along the statues base. “You’ve also read languages far older than this, translating them perfectly.”
It’s not usual someone catches her, Diana, in the midst of an act. Less so for someone to call her out. Zatanna did both. Now she waits to hear Diana’s reasoning for her actions, hoping it wasn’t what her gut feared.
Diana mulled over her words before speaking. She stared at the statue as she began. “I just wanted to have a reason to see you.”
Oh. “You wanted to… see me?”
She chuckled, turning from the statue to pin Zatanna with an apprehensive gaze, highlighted by ruddy cheeks that would match Zatanna’s if not for her spell. “It’s a poor excuse, yes, but with everything that has happened as of late… me, stepping away from Justice League Dark to tend to other matters… we don’t see each other much, lately. I missed you.”
“Well, I…” Zatanna was better than this. She spoke backwards, on stage, with thousands of eyes watching her every move and ten different spotlights burning her alive night after night. Why was this so hard. “I miss you, too.”
           “You do?”
“Of course.” Her words were like sunlight on a closed flower blossom, Diana opening up and her color brightening. It triggered a similar response in her. That doubt was smothered in the many, unfolding petals. “You know… you don’t have to invent excuses to see me. This place isn’t off-limits for only matters of the occult, like I’m sure upstairs isn’t filled with talk about world-shattering crises.”
“It isn’t, but…” Diana glanced about the space, “sometimes it feels wrong, to talk about other matters here.”
“Then we could always meet elsewhere.”
Diana perked. “You want to go out?”
She heard the spell fizzle, and Zatanna fully knew her beet-red face gave her true nervousness away. Zatanna hemmed and hawed while trying to rephrase Diana’s question in a way that didn’t give herself false hope. “We can hang… go get lunch, or dinner. Take a walk at a park, or even go out dancing –“
“Great,” Diana grabbed the statue, stuffing it back inside the bag she brought it in and swinging it over her shoulder. “First, let me deal with the Encantado issue, then we can plan our date. I’ll be back soon!”
She flew from the room, leaving Zatanna to deal with her astonishment alone.
           “…What just happened?”

Only three members of the Nelson family are still alive: Kent, his neice Elizabeth, and his great nephew Khalid. He keeps a close relationship with Khalid due to this. Irs because of Khalid anyway Kent has whatever popculture knowledge (vine, ect) and Kent retains an interest in the things shared with him because he genuinely does love him.
He knows full well he'll never have children, so keeping what little family he does have left is important.

Stuck Around AU
sindella knows of her familial connection to Order and Arthur (Aquaman) - them being distant cousins but knowing each other and being as close as siblings. both husband and wife have magic, his "of lions"/da Vinci and hers of gods/Fate. his magic allowed him access to Shadowcrest - a manor in the upstate of New York that is his "family homestead" that was originally established in Gotham that transported itself to New York.. yeah, that's a lot to unpack, owning a manor.. huh..
Giovanni, through renovating/modernizing Shadowcrest using his magic, sees many a ghostly vision of realities where sindella died due to cancer - mainly their close neighbor reality (the "canon" timeline). she doesn't want him to, but Giovanni says that seeing everything in the "neighboring timeline", it's for the best. and it will strengthen Zatanna's connection to Sindella, her roots through her as well so that Fate couldn't use them as hosts.
Sindella agrees, but makes him promise his soul will stay around - he says he had nothing else in mind
he bounds his soul to her wedding ring as well as Zatanna's top hat, as precautions for when he died should he be too weak when the time comes
as years go by, Sindella goes back to work as a chiropractor (yea.. she's not a doctor in this one), Zatanna grows up, Giovanni spends more time with his family - including Kent Nelson, his family (Khalid and his parents, as well as the other Justice Society members - Red Tornado/John Jones, Wildcat and his "niece" Dinah Lance along with her husband Oliver Queen and their adopted son Roy, the first Flash, his wife Joan, the second Flash/Barry Allen, his wife Iris, son Bart/Impulse, nephew Wally/Kid Flash and Wally's family) - as well as Arthur and his wife Mera, including his apprentice Kaldur and his mother Sha'lain'a - helping her with her depression and considering her family as well
It turns out, Zatanna has the Medulla Jewel as well as does Sindella. Allowing for a psychic connection between the two and strengthening the magic she has
When it's time, as Giovanni is dying, he makes Arthur and Kent promise they will look after Zatanna and Sindella. They do, and let Zatanna and Sindella have their time to say goodbyes (although it is a temporary one, it still hurts)
Shadowcrest is left to them, they pay nothing for it as it's been in the family so long it's paid off.. they don't question it, it's fine..
Sindella becomes a hero - wearing the "crown of Arion" on her head over her blonde hair, a white one piece suit with black and yellow accents (in memory of her husband, she considered wearing her dress but Zatanna said it would look lame and called her dad who said it seemed impractical) long and flowing red cape, and a lensless domino mask on her face
zatanna wears a stage magician suit when crime fighting, like her father, and wearing a purple scarf with eyeholes tied around her eyes (unknowingly taking after her dad)
all they have to do to summon giovanni is touch the object that he is tied to and say his name (be it his first name or Dad) and he appears before them and whoever they are talking to
zatanna joins the team early, as an auxiliary member for a time before officially joining when Uncle John/RT goes rogue. no flirting happens between robin and zatanna (rip) because Wally and Kaldur stop him, but Bart and her are bouncing off each other due to past chill-chaos vibes and that's all it is, just bff vibes wwith everyone else jumping in here or there
sindella is a member of the justice league, taking her husband's seat - she was voted in and it was wonder woman and black canary who suggested it. and honestly, sindella becomes a fucking troll about it and will call her husband when she's in meetings every now and again just to freak people out until they get used to it, but Giovanni is just happy to be included
Giovanni gets called on accident during Team missions sometimes, which doesn't really do much depending on the mission.. it was a fun one when the Team accidentally found out he could possess things, when he temporary possessed one of Artemis' stray arrows that passed through him when she shot it and he made it course correct to hit it's target when it initially missed
when Kent dies, Giovanni asks him what his plans are. Kent says he'll stick around with Fate to keep him company
he asks Greta what her plans are, and she just dissolves, showing she is at peace and it makes Giovanni happy
sindella talks to the Lords of order, which is awkward because it's basically talking to her grandfather and uncles that she loves as family but they get on her nerves. Zatanna feels the same, getting bored early, being tapped in with the Medula Jewel which she "closes" the link to tap out (sindella often calling her a traitor, which zee retorts she has an English final she has to do and her mother shouldn't be thinking so loud)

So here's my guess as to who this guy is - Khalid Nassour, Kent Nelson's grand-nephew, and the only Dr Fate with an actual medical background.

365 DC Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…
February 16th - Doctor Fate

Dr. Fate is a legacy of heroes in the realm of magic, each acting as an agent of the Lord of Order known as Nabu in an eternal battle against the forces of chaos.  One such agent was archeologist Kent Nelson.  Nabu bestowed Nelson the helmut of Fate as well as the Amulet of Anubis and the Cloak of Destiny.  Nelson used the magical relics to become Doctor Fate and battled both supernatural foes as well as criminals.  Dr. Fate helped to form the first iteration of The Justice Society of America and fought with the Allied Forces during the Second World War.  Following Nelson’s death, Eric Strauss was chosen by Nabu to act as the new Dr. Fate.  Kent Nelson’s widow, Inza Cramer, was the next to don the helmet and operate as Dr. Fate; followed by Jared Stevens and then Hector Hall.  The current holder of Nabu’s mantle is an Egyptian-American medical student named Khalid Nassour.  The great nephew of Kent Nelson, Khalid happened upon Nabu’s helmet seemingly by chance. At the urging of the goddess Bast (who had possessed Khalid’s pet cat) the young man donned the helmet and used its magical powers to prevent the god Anubis from wreaking havoc.  Although still learning the better control the vast powers afforded by his role as the new Dr. Fate, Khalid has joined a recent iteration of the team Justice League Dark.  A version of Dr. Fate appeared in the television series Smallville portrayed by actor Brent Stait.  The Kent Nelson version of Doctor Fate first appeared in the pages of More Fun Comics #55 (1940); Eric Kraus first appeared Doctor Fate #1 (1987); Jared Stevens first appeared in Fate #0 (1994); Hector Hall first appeared in All-Star Squadron #25 (1983); and Khalid Nassour first appeared in Convergence: Aquaman #2 (2015).

The Flash
The Flash (or simply Flash) is the name of several superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Harry Lampert, the original Flash first appeared in Flash Comics #1 (cover date January 1940/release month November 1939). Nicknamed the "Scarlet Speedster", all incarnations of the Flash possess "super speed", which includes the ability to run, move, and think extremely fast, use superhuman reflexes, and seemingly violate certain laws of physics.
Thus far, at least four different characters—each of whom somehow gained the power of "the speed force"—have assumed the mantle of the Flash in DC's history: college athlete Jay Garrick (1940–1951, 1961–2011, 2017–present), forensic scientist Barry Allen (1956–1985, 2008–present), Barry's nephew Wally West (1986–2011, 2016–present), and Barry's grandson Bart Allen (2006–2007). Each incarnation of the Flash has been a key member of at least one of DC's premier teams: the Justice Society of America, the Justice League, and the Teen Titans.
The Flash is one of DC Comics' most popular characters and has been integral to the publisher's many reality-changing "crisis" storylines over the years. The original meeting of the Golden Age Flash Jay Garrick and Silver Age Flash Barry Allen in "Flash of Two Worlds" (1961) introduced the Multiverse storytelling concept to DC readers, which would become the basis for many DC stories in the years to come.
Like his Justice League colleagues Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman, the Flash has a distinctive cast of adversaries, including the various Rogues (unique among DC supervillains for their code of honor) and the various psychopathic "speedsters" who go by the names Reverse-Flash or Zoom. Other supporting characters in Flash stories include Barry's wife Iris West, Wally's wife Linda Park, Bart's girlfriend Valerie Perez, friendly fellow speedster Max Mercury, and Central City police department members David Singh and Patty Spivot.
A staple of the comic book DC Universe, the Flash has been adapted to numerous DC films, video games, animated series, and live-action television shows. In live-action, Barry Allen has been portrayed by Rod Haase for the 1979 television special Legends of the Superheroes, John Wesley Shipp in the 1990 The Flash series and Grant Gustin in the 2014 The Flash series, and by Ezra Miller in the DC Extended Universe series of films, beginning with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016). Shipp also portrays a version of Jay Garrick in the 2014 The Flash series. The various incarnations of the Flash also feature in animated series such as Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League, Batman: The Brave and the Bold and Young Justice, as well as the DC Universe Animated Original Movies series.
> Powers and abilities
All incarnations of the Flash can move, think, and react at light speeds as well as having superhuman endurance that allows them to run incredible distances. Some, notably later versions, can vibrate so fast that they can pass through walls in a process called quantum tunneling, travel through time and can also lend and borrow speed. Speedsters can also heal more rapidly than an average human. In addition, most incarnations have an invisible aura around their respective bodies that protects them from air friction and the kinetic effects of their powers.
On several occasions, the Flash has raced against Superman, either to determine who is faster or as part of a mutual effort to thwart some type of threat; these races, however, often resulted in ties because of outside circumstances. Writer Jim Shooter and artist Curt Swan crafted the story "Superman's Race With the Flash!" in Superman #199 (Aug. 1967) which featured the first race between the Flash and Superman. Writer E. Nelson Bridwell and artist Ross Andru produced "The Race to the End of the Universe", a follow-up story four months later in The Flash #175 (Dec. 1967). However, after the DC Universe revision after Crisis on Infinite Earths, the Flash does successfully beat Superman in a race in Adventures of Superman #463 with the explanation that Superman is not accustomed to running at high speed for extended periods of time since flying is more versatile and less strenuous, which means the far more practiced Flash has the advantage. After Final Crisis in Flash: Rebirth #3 the Flash is shown as being significantly faster than Superman, able to outrun him as Superman struggles to keep up with him. He reveals that all the close races between them before had been "for charity". In the Smallville episode "Run", Flash is not only able to run faster than a pre-Superman Clark Kent but can match Clark's top speed while running backwards.
While various incarnations of the Flash have proven their ability to run at light speed, the ability to steal speed from other objects allows respective Flashes to even significantly surpass this velocity. In Flash: The Human Race Wally is shown absorbing kinetic energy to an extent enabling him to move faster than teleportation and run from the end of the universe back to earth in less than a Planck instant (Planck time).
Speedsters may at times use the ability to speed-read at incredible rates and in doing so, process vast amounts of information. Whatever knowledge they acquire in this manner is usually temporary. Their ability to think fast also allows them some immunity to telepathy, as their thoughts operate at a rate too rapid for telepaths such as Martian Manhunter or Gorilla Grodd to read or influence their minds.
Flashes and other super-speedsters also have the ability to speak to one another at a highly accelerated rate. This is often done to have private conversations in front of non-fast people (as when Flash speaks to Superman about his ability to serve both the Titans and the JLA in The Titans #2). Speed-talking is also sometimes used for comedic effect where Flash becomes so excited that he begins talking faster and faster until his words become a jumble of noise. He also has the ability to change the vibration of his vocal cords making it so he can change how his voice sounds to others.
While not having the physical strength of many of his comrades and enemies, Flash has shown to be able to use his speed to exert incredible momentum into physical attacks. In Injustice: Gods Among Us, Flash uses these kinds of attacks as many of his special moves.
The Flash has also claimed that he can process thoughts in less than an attosecond. At times he is able to throw lightning created by his super speed and make speed vortices.
Some flashes also have the ability to create speed avatars (i.e. duplicates) and these avatars have sometimes been sent to different timelines to complete a particular mission. (Barry Allen exhibits this ability in the live action series "The Flash").
He can also be seen negating the effects of the anti-life equation, when he freed Iris-West from its control (probably due to his connection with the speed force).
It is said that Wally West has reached the velocity of 23,759,449,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (about 24 tredecillion) × c (the speed of light) and he could only do this with the help of every human being on earth moving so the speed force was joined through everyone.[18] With that speed he was able to not only run from planet to planet but different galaxies and universes at what would be considered a blink of an eye.

Just curious could we sometimes see Anthony in bruises visiting Somerset and hanging out with Mary, Edwina and Matthew (and maybe his family) and meeting Daffodil?
Bold of you to assume Mary's still alive.
But sure, let's take a look at a small portion of Anthony's first trip to Somerset.
Anthony had been nervous from the moment they'd left Kent, watching their farmhouse disappear with a mixture of sadness and anxiety, his fingers already drumming on his knee nervously.
"I should have ridden beside the carriage." Anthony had said quietly, staring out at the countryside as it passed, the children chattering away on the other seat.
"Oh but then Neddy would have missed his Papa." Kate cooed gently, staring down at the baby in her arms who was giggling delightedly, his little hand reaching up towards her.
"You cannot use our son against me always." Anthony had huffed, trying to push down the intense swell of pride he felt whenever he looked upon Kate and their child. Tiny Edmund, named for his father and hers, so full of joy already giggling happily as Nelson snuffled against his forehead curiously. This is my little foal.
"I can and I will." Kate sighed, kissing his cheek, "Neddy give your Papa a cuddle, he's feeling nervous."
Anthony had had his arms out instantly, waiting for Kate to pass him their tiny baby, something aching in his chest when Edmund smiled up at him the minute she was placed in his arms. Glad that he felt safe and happy in Anthony's arms.
"You needn't be, you know."
He knew exactly what Kate was talking about. Of course she knew, Kate noticed everything.
"Will we...? Do you think we'll see Matthew's family? The- The Baronet?"
Kate nodded, "It's likely, yes, but... Sir Andrew is a lovely man, you've no need to be nervous in his company. And you know Edwina and Matthew."
"And you'll be there."
Her smile softened as she pushed his hair back from his eyes. "And I'll be there."
"Kate! Do you think we could go looking for Pirate ships when we get to Somerset?" Hyacinth's little voice caught her attention. "Do you think Mr Matthew has a telescope I could borrow?"
"We'll have to find out, won't we?"
It had mostly been fine, Matthew had boomed his greeting when they'd stepped out of the carriage, greeting the children before he slapped Anthony on the shoulder enthusiastically while Edwina, the swell of her stomach just visible in her dress, had darted forward to greet her sister and her Nephew. They'd settled into their visit, the children off exploring while Matthew asked Anthony his opinion in any number of things, asking him to visit the Auction yard with him to find a new horse.
It had been a little awkward when they'd first arrived, Even in his finer clothes Anthony had stood out with his thick accent and his rough manners. But Anthony had occupied himself inspecting the horses, asking questions of the breeders before he'd nodded towards a roan shire horse.
"That's your pick."
"Excellent! Of course, we wouldn't be here if you'd let me have Nelson's foal." Matthew nudged him good naturedly.
"Matthew, you'd be more than welcome to any other foal on my farm but that foal is out of the question."
"Bagwell!" A loud voice had boomed through the yard.
"Armitage!" Matthew had greeted him merrily as the man approached him.
"I didn't know you had a new man of business." Armitage had eyed Anthony a little curiously and he'd forced himself to stand with his shoulders straight, forced himself not to flush.
But Matthew didn't give him any time to respond, his kind laughter ringing out. "Gad, you're right I've been awfully rude. This is Mrs Bagwell's Brother in law, Mr Anthony Bridgerton. You must remember his wife, Mrs Kate Bridgerton, formerly Miss Sharma."
Armitage startled, his eyes widening as he held his hand out. "My pleasure, Mr Bridgerton. You're rather a legend in these parts. Something of a mythical hero, How did you entice Miss Sharma into matrimony? I asked her to dance once at a festival and she looked at me as though I'd taken leave of my senses and declined."
Anthony chuckled a little even as something smug prickled down his spine. "I'm a very lucky husband, it's true. And recently a father as well."
"My congratulations then, to you and Mrs Bridgerton as well."
It had helped him relax, that tiny encounter with a gentleman who'd known Kate, known who he was and hadn't looked down on him for a moment. But this night he had been dreading since they arrived.
They'd been invited to the baronet's for dinner, Edwina had said casually while she exasperatedly tore the newspaper she'd been trying to read from between Daffodil's teeth as the cow's tail swished, unbothered.
"Oh." Anthony had said quietly, trying not to react. "Well that'll be- that'll be lovely."
He as sweating through his good shirt already in the tails and waistcoat Benedict had made for him, dabbing desperately at his forehead with a handkerchief as Kate dressed quietly in front of him, the maid quickly buttoning the dress behind her.
"You look very handsome, darling."
Anthony let out a strangled laugh, "That's not helping my nerves."
Kate thanked the maid quietly who left the room, tucking herself neatly against his chest. "You've no need to be nervous, You'll see. You're my husband and they see you as family."
But Anthony doubted it. doubted it right up until the moment the carriage let them out and he stood in the entrance of the biggest house he'd ever been in and Sir Andrew Bagwell greeted him with a smile just as kind as his son.
"And you must be Mr Bridgerton! Excellent! My Son's been telling me you've been helping him with his land, I wondered if you'd do me a favour and have a look at my crops, they've been very sad these past few years."
"I'd- I'd be happy to, Sir."
"Excellent!" The man boomed, slapping his shoulder before he sighed. "Gad man, take off your neckcloth, you look as though you might faint, and we've only family tonight."
Family.

F- to deal with instead of anybody else - that I grieved over the spoiling of the wood and would rather change the road than give more time but that I would do the best I could but could never give more time -A - had Parkinson in the hall - brought him into the North parlour - he wished to have a new public house built in the tan-house garden - 4 rooms on a floor - 5 yards x 5 yards and 1ft. and the back rooms would do 5 yards x 4 yards with 4 good chambers and brewhouse and stable - less would not do - could not afford to pay more than £30 per annum pays £20 a year at present - the building he has would make 5 cottages - thought a new Inn would be built for £300 [than when] I said no! said well for £400 but could not pay than £30 per annum - A- to consider of it, and give him an answer in a few days - he said he should not stay where he was - then A- had luncheon downstairs - sat with her there and then upstairs till she went to Cliff Hill and I to the workmen (Robert + 4, and Frank and my own cart) plant at the meer-head - keep Wood and Samuel Booth planting till 6 when rain came on and from 4 to then sent Robert + 2 to the stubbing at the hollow open drain - came in at 6 ¼ - wrote about a French or German lady’s maid ‘speaking English not essentially necessary’ and sent my letter this evening to ‘Madame Lecomte 11 Bryanston street Portland Square London ppd.’ - dinner at 6 ¾ - coffee - A-‘s French as usual - we dined on Pork - too rich for us - it disagreed with both of us so bilious we could not see a letter of A-‘s French book - A- 10 minutes and A- ½ hour with my aunt poorly tonight - came upstairs at 8 55 - tea - rather better for it - but very bilious - wrote all the above of today till 10 10 at which hour F40° fine day but dull till rain at 6 and afterwards for some time - Mr. F- told me the union cross would be sold on young Mr. Thompson’s (of chapel of [Briers]) coming of age in a year from this time - Messrs. Rainer and Beaumont, brother-in-law to Mr. Jonathan Akroyd, bidding against one another for it - they had already got it up beyond Mr. Mitchell’s valuation - asked F- to get to know for me what it was valued at - F- said the buildings were very bad repair - all the roof would want taking off and the timbers renewing - I said all that would not be done for nothing - F- said it was an excellent situation of which I agreed but made no further remark thinking to myself I see whence the opposition to Northgate will come - F- had said Carr was the fittest man for it - I merely said I thought he had neither capital nor character but, in fact, he had never named Northgate to me - But thought I, I must mind what I am about there will be opposition anyway with Carr or without him  - I had best have a man who would be more difficult to oppose than Carr - A- would not take luncheon till I got her persuaded at last told me she had been unhappy the last two or three weeks had not pleasure in anything never felt as if doing right would not take wine was getting too fond of it afraid she should drink was getting as she was before afraid people would find it out and began to look disconsolate oh oh thought I I see how it is cheered her up said we would get off in May would go to Paris first this made me stay with her so inconveniently long  on leaving her thanked god as I walked along for all blessings to myself and fervently begged his help and felt comforted and my spirits good and my head clear.

Characters That Should Be In Young Justice S3, Part 4: Legacy
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
Many characters in Young Justice are connected by the theme of legacy, being sidekicks of heroes from Justice League or in another way following their footsteps. As such, this time I looked at characters that could continue with this theme and expand on it, carrying a legacy of characters we already have seen on the show, or others, whose history we haven’t yet explored.
Number Ten: Firestorm
Firestorm is a weird character in that he went through multiple identities and adaptations are happy to cherry-pick for their own interpretation. In Justice League Action it’s a teenage Ronnie Richmond and professor Stein, in Batman; the brave and the Bold it’s adult Ronnie and teenage Jason Rusch, in Injustice 2 it’s Jason and Stein and in Legends of Tomorrow it’s Stein and an adult Jason. In New 52 it was teenage Ronnie and Jason as separate Firestorms who could fuse into one bigger Firestorm called Fury. And that’s not even getting into characters like Firehawk, Gehenna or Mikhail Arkadin that were thrown into the mix over the years. Or that time with fire elemental. As such, I feel it would be interesting to see Young Justice’s take on the concept. Maybe we could have multiple people able to merge into different Firestorms, with their own relationships and conflicts, with the Team or the Light trying to gain some of them as allies?
Number Nine: Jessica Cruz Green Lantern
As I’ve mentioned recently, DC Rebirth managed to push Jessica to the popularity that allowed her to become the representative of Green Lantern mythos in both DC Comics Bombshells and DC Superhero Girls. I’d say let’s strike the iron when it’s hot and give her appearance in Young Justice. While the concept of multiple Green Lanterns isn’t new in this Universe and has lead to a pretty nice joke about Guy Gardner in season one, we never had a Green Lantern actually working with the Team and while Jess is an adult, she is a rookie so it would make sense for her to be assigned to the Team first. For the better fun, I’d also suggest bringing in her partner and fellow Lantern, Simon Baz - I want to see them in the early days, clashing and bickering and the Team having to help them get along, before developing beautiful friendship we know from comics.
Number Eight: Mary Marvel
Fun fact: Mary Marvel and Captain Marvel Jr. actually are supposed to exist in Young Justice Universe - one bit of obscure information reveals they operate under codenames Laurietant Marvel and Sergeant Marvel. It never came to be, but honestly, I’d love to see it happen - in a more serious, dramatic and sometimes the outright dark world of Young Justice a ray of sunshine here and there won’t hurt and she could fill nicely in the spot missing since Billy stopped being a regular part of the team now.
Number Seven: Tanya Spears Power Girl
Tanya is a relatively fresh character in DC universe, but she already managed to leave an impression and gain few fans and her appearances in Deathstroke prove she can work very well in darker stories as well, especially in contrast between her naivety and idealism and more cynical people around her. Being a super genius who can change the size and has super strength makes her a kind of addition the Team doesn’t really have and her connection to Superman family allows us to have a character from it without someone with similar powers stealing Conner’s thunder. And, as a bonus, in the previous part I have brought up introducing second, younger Wally West from New 52 to Young Justice - seeing how these two are now friends and looking out for each other, I wouldn’t mind seeing it on screen.
Number Six: Kevin Kho O.M.A.C.
O.M.A.C. lives....SO THE MAN CAN LIVE! Holly shit is the concept of O.M.A.C. (One Man Army Corps) just freaking awesome or what? A normal person turned into a literal one-man army by a supercomputer on a satellite, Brother Eye. Be it to carry orders of mysterious and maybe not so benevolent as it looks Global Peace Agency or Brother Eye’s own agenda, he is a force to be reckoned with. There were multiple incarnations of the character over the years, but New 52′s Kevin Kho or his teenage version from DC Rebirth, Kevin Cho, seems best suited for a story in modern times. And it helps in this version O.M.A.C. is basically the Hulk - powerful, giant monster that can give even toughest enemies a pause. Carrying orders that not necessarily need to align with the Team’s mission, he could as well be a valuable ally or a dangerous enemy. That being said, Kirby’s original 70′s series was years ahead of its time and I’d gladly see if some of its influences or antagonist have found their way into Young Justice. Especially with how it’s been implied that story’s O.M.A.C. is being manipulated and his superiors are not as good as he thinks.
Number Five: Stargirl
A legacy character to both Starman and Star-Spangled Kid, Courtney already has made her way into other shows, having minor roles in Justice League Unlimited, Batman: The Brave and the Bold and Justice League Action. As such I’m interested in seeing what would be the take on her from writers of Young Justice. She is another one of those characters who can bring more optimism in darker moments, but also have some potential for drama on her own (especially if we go with New 52 version where she is motivated by the death of her brother). For a bonus, she was a love interest for Captain Marvel and YJ Billy should be of that age by now, so...
Number Four: Emiko Quinn Red Arrow and Number Three: Connor Hawke Green Arrow
Arrow family is strong on Young Justice, with Artemis as one of the main characters, not one but two Roy Harpers and Arrowette coming to join the cast and some small but sometimes surprisingly emotional appearances by Oliver Quinn himself. So why not add more? I could totally see Emiko, Olivier’s half-sister and Connor, his son, as his newest protegees and potential recruits to the Team or allies helping them on occasion. I’d love to see either of them interacting with Artemis in particular.
I also have a different idea - Green Arrow was beating himself on how he has failed Roy Harper, both of them and even more on the supposed death of Artemis. Maybe we could see him trying to somewhat do better by retiring as a Green Arrow and becoming a full-time mentor for younger members of the Team...while his City is protected by new Green and Red Arrow, who obviously show up from time to time?
Number Two: Zachary Zatara
Zachary is Zatanna’s cousin, who also possess magical abilities like her. He does have a different personality, being more arrogant and confident with his magic. He calls himself the world’s most popular teenage magician. While not earning many friends, he does seem to gain fans in and out of Universe. In Young Justice, his addition could be interesting both because Zatanna herself was a part of the Team and he could be a great contrast to her for the fans. But also because of the fact Zatanna is now on Justice League. And so is Doctor Fate. I can totally see him calling her out for not having yet saved her father and his uncle from Fate but outright working with the guy who took Giovanni from them. And I can certainly see him trying to do something about it himself.
Which leads us to our last entry on the list
Number One: Khalid Nassour Doctor Fate
I never really forgave myself sleeping on when DC You Doctor Fate book launched. So here is a small bit to make up for it. I want Khalid to show up in Young Justice and take a part in finally saving Zatanna’s dad from the Helmet of Fate and then put it on himself, maybe figuring a way how to not end in the same situation as Giovanni and others before him (he is Kent Nelson’s grand nephew, he could have found a way). He is an interesting character in his own right and I want him to have more spotlight.

Kindergarten Blues
Summary: Time has come for little Stevie, 5 years old, to start kindergarten and Bucky’s having a difficult time grasping the concept of his little boy growing up. Steven  Barnes crosses into the scholastic realm. How will Bucky deal with his little man leaving the nest?
Pairings: Bucky x Reader OFC Steven James and Bella Barnes, Ms. Nelson, Kindergarten Teacher
Warning: Separation anxiety and a boatload of happiness
A/N: This fic is part of “The Chronicles of Bucky Barnes-Family Man.” From time to time, I’ll post one shots about Bucky, his wife, Bella and little Steven. I wanted to write how he handles his kids growing up. Hope you like it. Feedback is encouraged and thank you for reading!
You’ve heard of kids crying, latching themselves onto their parent’s leg on the first day of kindergarten. Somber mothers and fathers peeped in the door’s window, searching for one more glance of their “baby.” What they fail to realize is it’s 8:00 a.m. and the school dismisses kindergartners at noon.
James Buchanan Barnes felt as if little Stevie was going off to war. Two weeks prior to the first day, he was a real sourpuss. And from what Jillian gathered, those poor new recruits caught pure hell. So much so that Nick Fury spoke to Bucky and requested he ease up a bit. Bucky complied.
Jillian thought it funny the way her teddy bear husband was acting. She understood what Bucky was going through; she’d experienced the same thing with Bella. Come to think of it, he went with them to school and had to be dragged away!
Uncle Tony paid tuition for Bella and little Stevie to attend the uber exclusive “Whittington School.” Before his niece and nephew even set foot in the door, all staff members were stringently vetted. He made sure no stone was left unturned. This school was attended by kids with “extraordinary” parents.
The likes of Clark Kent and Lois Lane, Bruce Wayne, Scott Lang among a few had their children enrolled in the school because security was high and the buildings were secure. Cameras were strategically placed around the perimeter, infrared beams dotted the treelines and a reinforced wall kept hooligans out. If all that wasn’t enough, kids wore mini-trackers, attached to the inside of their clothes, just in case an incident occurred.
The Night Before “D-Day”
Sitting on his bed, little Stevie packed his Iron Man backpack. Bucky walked in his room and sat next to him and said, Hey son, you ready for school?” Little Stevie couldn’t contain his enthusiasm, “Yeah daddy, I can’t wait to meet my teacher and make friends and see Bella and…”
Bucky chuckled, “Slow down pardner. Breathe.”
Inhaling loudly, the excited little fella spoke again, “Oh and I already know my ABC’s and my colors and some of my numbers! Daddy, can we go NOW?” Bucky pulled him onto his lap, “Tomorrow is Monday. That’s when you go to school.” Laughter erupted as little Stevie jumped up and down on his bed singing, “♫♪♫I’M GOING TO SCHOOL IN THE MORNING♪♫♪!”
Bucky insisted his son get some sleep. Little Stevie pouted but eventually relented, not before he tucked his backpack under the covers. .
Bucky wore a tight smile on his face. He felt a sharp pain in his stomach and heart. Bella and little Stevie were growing up right before his eyes!
Jillian sitting against the headboard of their bed reading, put her book down when her glum husband meandered into the room.
She knew her brooding husband suffered a case of ‘my kids are growing up too fast.’ Jillian beckoned him to the bed and Bucky complied. Gently stroking his chocolate locks, Jillian asked, “Buck, look at me.” He turned his gaze towards his compassionate wife. “You knew this day would come sooner or later. Remember Bella’s first day of kindergarten?” He nodded. “I had to practically yank all of the Avengers from the school. You, Steve and Wanda cried, while Tony videotaped the event. Let’s not forget Nat whispering in Bella’s ear self-defense moves.”
The bed rumbled with his laughter. Placing a chaste kiss on Jillian’s lips, Bucky mused, “Yeah I remember that. Sam was on a mission. He had a fit. That was a great day.”
Rolling her eyes, Jillian pretended to hit her husband in the chest. She smiled, “Yeah he was fit to be tied!” They looked at each other and burst into raucous laughter.
“Come on Sarge, it’s bedtime. Early day tomorrow.” Jillian turned the bedside lamp off and pulled the cover over herself. Bucky draped his left arm over her body and pulled her close to him. Sleep came to pulled him under its spell.
First Day of School
The alarm clock buzzed at 6:00 a.m. Bucky reached back and swatted it, rolling back over.
Jillian attempted to move but a heavy metal appendage laying across her body prevented it.
Struggling to get loose, Bucky protested and asked for 5 more minutes. Jillian pecked him on the nose and shuffled into the bathroom.
Bucky groaned, “Oh well, let’s get this over with.”
Walking down the hall, giggles came from little Stevie’s room. As he got closer, the voices of Bella and her brother was heard.
Opening the door, the kids ran to his arms for a bear hug from daddy.
Little Stevie let out a high pitched laugh, “Good morning daddy. Is it time to go yet?”
Bella chimed in, “No silly goose. We’re not dressed. C’mon little bro, let’s eat.”
The smell of pancakes, bacon and eggs caught the attention of the hungry bear and his cubs.
Bella and little Stevie said ‘good morning’ to Jillian. She in turn began platting their food.
Bucky loved sitting at the table with his wife and kids. He’d laugh and carry on sometimes intense conversations with his 12 year old daughter. Bella was so intelligent and well-spoken. Her favorite subjects were math and science.
After breakfast came the moment of truth. While Jillian got little Stevie ready, Bucky filled his son’s backpack. Inside were Bucky bear, a Captain America jacket and cap. Leaning against the doorway, his wife shook her head.
Time To Let Him Go (Until Noon)
After clearing security, the Barnes family stepped inside. Bella hugged her parents and walked toward her locker. Little Stevie’s was absolutely amazed at his classroom.
Along the wall hung animals, alphabets and numbers. There were little cubbies to hang backpacks and jackets. Tiny tables and chairs dotted the center of the room, along with a reading corner with every Dr. Seuss book imaginable. The carpet was a giant jigsaw puzzle. 2 restrooms off to the side of the classroom and a spacious outside play area, with swings, slides, see saws, and horses that teters back and forth on heavy duty springs.
Ms. Nelson, one of the instructors, greeted them. “Good morning Barnes family. I’m Ms. Nelson, Stevie’s teacher.” Bucky and Jillian exchanged pleasantries while little Stevie found his personalized cubbie and hung his backpack.
Running back to Bucky, he jumped in his daddy’s arms and whispered in his ear, “Daddy, I’m gonna have so much fun. I love you.” Bucky smiled as little Stevie ran off again to greet his classmates.
“Mr. and Mrs. Barnes, Steven will be fine. We encourage parents to leave once the kids have turned their backs and start playing. This makes it easier on them not to see their parents crying.”
Jillian couldn’t stifle her laughter. “C’mon Sarge, let’s go home. Our son’s gonna be just fine.”
Hesitating, Bucky walked to the door and tried to turn around, but Jillian pulled him out the door and into their car.
First Day Joy
Like clockwork, Bucky and Jillian anxiously waited outside for their son in the pick-up lot. Kids were escorted out to their parents vehicles by their teachers.
Spotting his daddy, little Stevie sprinted into his arms and hugged him around the neck.
Breathing hard, little Stevie ran down the day’s activities. “Mommy, daddy I had a lot of fun. Ms. Nelson’s really nice. She asked who knew their alphabets and I raised my hand.
Then I said them and she said I was really smart and at art, Marcus, Linda and me sat at the table together, they’re my friends and we went outside and ran around and we came back inside for storytime and we had lunch and then, Bella came by and a waved at me!”
Jillian and Bucky snickered as their over zealous son continued to ramble on and on about the day’s events.
Squeezing Jillian’s hand, Bucky knew from that day forward, life would change for them. Growth is inevitable. As a parent, the reality of your ‘baby birds’ leaving the  nest tugs at the heartstrings.  Simply roll with the punches, hold tight to the memories made and look forward to those milestones still to come.
