🥳 1 yr Anni celebration moodboard 💙

Baby Daggars as pre?teens? Watching Kev race. They don't remember their first time at the track but this time is definitely memorable

The parents decided that it would become a yearly tradition to head down to Florida to watch Kevin race. Now that the kids were older they could also enjoy it more. It wouldn’t be their first race, but it would be the first one they’d get to make memories.

“Yaaaaay! We’re going to see Uncle Kevin and my cousins!” Caroline squealed excitedly as she ran around the yard.

The Seresin twins were excited to finally go in person to a race. They already were talking about drivers, aside from “Uncle Kevin”, they wanted to see and meet.

Hadley stuck by Grace’s side. “Is Emma going to be there too!? Will uncle Bradley buy me gifts?”

Race day finally came and the kids decided to wear something blue for Kevin but also recreate the pictures from their first time at the race when they were little.

The parents enjoyed taking the pictures but they also got a bit sad their babies were growing. It wasn’t until Mickey spotted that Hadley’s smile grew even cheekier that they noticed the kids were up to something.

In the blink of an eye, the kids all took off an ran to tackle Kevin and talk his ear off.

Williamsburg

Gerald Kevin Sauter was born April 25, 1934, at his home near Millersburg, Iowa, the son of Michael F and Agatha Mary (Wagner) Sauter. He graduated from Millersburg High School in 1952 and went on to spend two years at St. Ambrose College. Kevin was drafted into the United States Army, and spent two years in the reserves. He was a lifelong farmer, farming with his brothers. On June 15, 1957, Kevin was united in marriage to Phyllis “Dee Dee” G King at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Millersburg. They were married 65 years this past June! Kevin was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in North English and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years, watching the Chicago Cubs and golfing. Kevin died on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022, at Compass Memorial Hospital in Marengo at the age of 88 years.

He is survived by his wife, Dee Dee of Williamsburg; three daughters, Shari (Dann) Harwood of Norway, Julie (Don) Meyer of Deep River and Amy (Steve) Greene of Deep River; two sons, Jerry (Shannon) Sauter of New River, Ariz., and Joe (Erika) Sauter of Williamsburg; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Audrey Weldon of Williamsburg; a brother, Michael Sauter of Deep River; a sister-in-law, Marge Sauter of North English; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents; brothers, Claire, Jim and Paul Sauter; sisters, Mary Kathleen Sauter, Barbara DeDecker, Joan Hadley and Kay Joens; and his grandson, Matthew Agnew.

Funeral Mass will be held 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in North English. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. until service time. A general memorial fund has been established. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.

Molly's bar is still struggling and Mouch gets help from a friend of Dawson's. Severide tries to find proof that Kevin Hadley, one of his former Squad 3 men, was the arsonist. Dawson makes a surprising move.

Casey is the only person looking after the Darden boys with his firehouse duties. This makes it hard for him. It peaks when the school calls him while on duty. With the Chief's blessing, he sneaks away. Griffin punched a classmate and now faces detention. The principal and Casey argue about Casey's parenting skills until Dawson shows up as his girlfriend. She calms the principal down and later tells Shay about her lack of nerves.

At the firehouse, news is that Severide and Shay need a roommate. Two men compete for the chance to live with them. Otis and Cruz. They agree to a cinnamon challenge to decide who is the best man.

While they sort out the details, Severide takes his dad to Boden's office. The three men chat about the suspected arsonist, Hadley. Benny makes a good case for the ex-fireman's involvement. Boden lets the investigation continue, but regrets it when McLeod visits him. Word got aorund that Arson was investigating Hadley, and she wants to know why he left Firehouse 51. Boden tries, but she makes him look bad.

After a daring underwater rescue, the squad relaxes at Molly's, where Herrmann gives free beer tasting on the patio. This attracts a crowd, but the CPD shut down the event for breaking happy hour laws. Herrmann knows who called the police. It was Game Day.

Dawson introduces Randy "Mouch" McHolland to her friend Isabella, a campaign strategist who helps Mouch get signatures to run for office. She also catches the eye of one admirer, Mills, but the moment fades when he spots Dawson getting cozy with Jay.

Cruz keeps flirting with Otis' cousin Zoya. He promises to make her a mix CD next time they meet. When the bar closes, Dawson and Jay are the last two left. Dawson asks him to help clean up after sex.

The next day, Boden enters the common room with new marching orders. Time away from the firehouse must now be approved. The house is unhappy, but Boden isn't finished. He also criticises Otis over the cinnamon challenge. Herrmann is angry and accuses Clarke of being a traitor.

Another 51 people come over to break up the fight - Hadley. He tells Severide to be careful around Clarke. The alarm sounds and stops the fight, but it restarts when Hadley follows them to a dangerous building fire. Severide struggles to keep his emotions in check, even as Hadley makes an observation. How could he be behind the fire when he was at the station when it started?

Later, Casey takes the boys to see their mom in prison. Afterwards, he learns that Griffin wants him to promise he won't leave them like their mom and dad di. Casey says he'll always be there for them.

Otis reports a fire code violation at Game Day, redirecting customers to Molly's and filling the bar. Cruz gives Zoya the mix CD he promised. She thanks him and gets into a car with Severide. Cruz pulls out of the roommate competition.

Mouch gets his 200th signature, making him a candidate. Thanks to Isabella's social media skills. Mills is surprised when she asks him to celebrate.

But just as things are looking up, Arthur stops by to get his share of the bar and wants to change their silent partnership for more money. When Herrmann and Dawson refuse, Arthur says he knows about their expenses and profits. He has a spy on the job, and it's Jay.

They say a soul mate is someone who you carry with you forever. It's the one person who knew you and accepted you and believed in you before anyone else did or when no one else would.

Grace calls bullshit on that. Well… Okay not entirely bullshit but in her eyes her soulmate will always be the person she would die for but also the first person she would kill: her brother Kevin.

Today is one of those days she wants to kill him. Kevin is sitting with Bradley, Caroline, Jake, and Mickey and showing them the video of the time she was a teenager and was in the hospital.

After waking up from her surgery, Grace couldn’t focus her eyes and was struggling to see who was in the room with her. She started sobbing when she couldn’t see Kevin.

Kevin had been holding a giant bear he bought for her and was walking in the room. When he said hi, Grace cried even more. “The bear ate Kevin! The bear ate Keviiiiin!” The nurse rushes in and calms her down while Grace’s parents are trying not to die from laughter.

“She’ll be fine. She just needs to sleep off the rest of the medication,” the nurse informed them. “Just make sure to hide the bear just in case,” she teases before she left.

Kevin smiled and laid down on the small bed and hugged Grace. “I’m here little one. I’m here.”

Caroline and Hadley’s little hands on her legs bring her back to the present. “Mama… Did a bear weally eat Unky Kev?”
