Meanwhile with DigiAdvs 02 [...and some O.C.s] (And...??)
KEN: How'd you get out in time?! (From "The {Digital} Void"'s EXPLOSION?!!) Inter-national O.C. Chosen Shane: Well, I ran, but. ... I, "got pulled" back into the "stream" just in time. So I watched from above, and - it basically imploded on itself, and dispersed into Digital data. SHANE: ... Whoever made those "capsules"... didn't want them to be found without a struggle. They were likely meant to be "kept" there indefinitely. And whoever "accessed" those capsules KNOWING the tech involved... KEN: ... They were fighting for release. Shane: Because they ruined the glass from the inside, THEN disrupted this... "plan". Ken: You believe it was a "plan"? Shane: Yeah. And whoever it "was" that made the "plan" could still be active. KEN: Currently, we had been fighting the "Dark" "Digital monsters". But they had all had their corrupted data "healed" as of over 10 years ago. They're ALL on our side now... SHANE: ... And they didn't know if they had a true "leader"? KEN: ... They're innocent. (Firmly!) I genuinely believe them to be. (The majority of them...) KEN: ("Angel" and "Akuma" may know something ELSE but... we'd have to ask them...) Shane: Because. Whoever originally "set up" that place... they definitely had "malicious intent". And... SHANE: I think they meant to do "something" with "the eight" beings "trapped" in there. Eventually... KEN: ... KEN: This is just a hypothetical question, but, that place you "visited"... does the name "Dark Area" mean anything to you? SHANE, HEARD IT FROM 'MON AT TIME: ... (How Do They KNOW--) SHANE: If I said it did? But I didn't find out until much later after the fact. (Half-lying) KEN: If those "eight" were being held in the "Dark Area"... and it was by our current possible "enemy", whom we know very little about... Shane: You all don't know much, huh?... KEN, CONTINUING: And the "intention" of that "enemy" being... for those "eight" to, perhaps, either, "fall under enemy control" or even "PERISH"... Shane: Depending on whatever was the "outcome" of "holding" them prisoner... KEN: Either way, those "eight" were likely being led straight to their eventual "DEATH"s... SHANE: (Flashbacking to the panels accessed) SHANE: ... The password to access the panels was "DEATH". (It Wasn't Very Creative.) And the code... (Was set to let the capsules run indefinitely.) KEN: I'd have to ask Koushiro-san again, but... KEN: I'm pretty sure... these signs are the "CLUE"... that the enemy involved could be CALLED... SHANE: SHANE & KEN, TOGETHER: "DEATHMON". KEN: "DEATHMON" was trying to "KILL" the "EIGHT" "CHOSEN" 'Children'. Shane: So the one who "broke out" from the INSIDE... SHANE & KEN: ... "Koushiro"

How he longed | Koukari Enlighten Month 2021
Koukari Kingdom AU series [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]
Day 5-8: Hug/Longing | Characters: Koushiro (pov), Hikari, Taichi | Genre: Fluff | Wordcount: 244
xxx
How he longed
Koushiro kind of envied Taichi. Not that he wanted to be a king, not at all, the opposite. Koushiro loved his role and work as a royal adviser. But every time he looked at Taichi, he envied him anyway.
It was the way he was able to be all close and physical with his loved ones, taking every opportunity to cuddle when the outside world wasn’t watching him. He and his wife Sora were incredibly touchy in between the bickering, holding each other in warm embraces as if to make sure not to ever lose one another. Taichi also loved to place reassuring hands on employee’s shoulders when they needed it.
On top of that the bond with his younger sister Hikari looked like a very strong one.
They hugged a lot, talked for hours, cried together, laughed together. To Koushiro it seemed like a close relationship between siblings and he longed to have a bond like that with someone one day.
Or maybe he longed to have a bond like that with Hikari one day…
Struck by his own thought, his eyes widened. He shook his head.
“You okay there buddy?” Koushiro could hear Taichi saying, a reassuring hand gently placed on his shoulder. He quickly nodded even though he wasn’t sure and his eyes traveled back to where Hikari was, hugging her sister-in-law.
The reassuring touch of Taichi was a welcoming one, but oh, how he longed for one of Hikari’s hugs.

[fanfic] A New Dawning
Taichi wasn’t used to sleeping outside or traveling all day long. When he woke up, he was used to waking up inside of his pleasant bedroom, with guards in their usual places. He would eat with his parents and Hikari, meals that held the greatest and most variety of flavors.
Everything he had, everything he did, just seemed so soft compared to how he and the others lived now. He slept every night near Yamato, if not in his arms, and for every meal someone, usually Mimi, went out to gather whatever she could find for them to eat.
Which was often strange, because as a dryad, she could and did eat things that humans considered either moss or algae or whatever. She was getting better at finding what he, Takeru, Iori, and Hikari could eat safely, though.
Not all of the others needed to be as careful. Yamato was undead – something that he had to admit unnerved him if he thought about it too much – and only quietly slipped away to find what he needed when he had to. Sora was an angel of love, and Taichi had to admit he had no idea of what she needed to eat. He’d seen her eating a few normal fruit, but she’d also said she could go without if necessary.
Daisuke and Ken ate – things. Taichi refused to look too closely at what they ate. Ken was half-demon and could probably have eaten anything from nail shavings to dust and still gained nutrition out of it. Daisuke was a construct, a creature built of magic, and frequently shared Ken’s meals, no matter what they were. Both of them could eat almost anything, but he’d noticed that since this journey began, they shared whatever there was enough to share, with the four humans getting the first pick of it all.
What are Jou and Koushiro going to be like? He vaguely recalled having met Jou once or twice, back even before Yamato’s revelation as being a siren and subsequent – issues.
He didn’t really want to think of those issues being “sentenced to death for the crime of being a siren, throat being slit, and thrown out, only to be brought back as a vampire” and everything else that came from that. So he didn’t.
What he’d heard boiled down to the fact Jou was a vampire now as well, and Koushiro was a werecat.
And I’m going to be a werecat too. At least they hoped that he would be. He had to be something supernatural to avoid being affected by Yamato’s voice. If that didn’t happen, Yamato wasn’t ever going to talk around him again.
That wasn’t ever going to happen. He’d make Yamato bite him if he had to!
He knew he’d have a hard time convincing Yamato of that. So he didn’t worry himself about it right now and concentrated on gathering the wood for the evening fire. He had no idea of how far away they were from the kingdom, but they’d been traveling for weeks.
I should send Mother and Father a message. They’d want to know what he was doing. He’d probably be disowned and cut off from being heir. But he could manage that. Becoming a werecat probably wouldn’t help with that anyway.
So what else would he do with his life? He’d been raised and trained and taught everything he knew to be a prince and later king. Would Hikari return? She hadn’t had quite the same lessons, but it had been more or less assumed she’d enter into the priesthood and not have to worry about ruling.
His eyes flicked by the small white cat – or a not-cat – seated at Hikari’s side as she checked over Miyako. The phoenix – who went off to do her own hunting on a regular basis – had almost healed from the injuries she’d suffered during the battle against Vamdemon.
Even if she doesn’t rule, she might not join the priesthood regardless. Not when she had her very own guardian angel, and the potential to ally them with the phoenix clan.
That would all have to wait for later, though. First he would ensure that Yamato’s supernatural voice couldn’t affect him – at least not anymore than it normally did, since the blond had always had an amazing singing voice. Then he’d figure out what being a werecat meant and if it would cut him away from his realm forever.
His gaze shifted over the circle of people as he settled the pile of wood down and began to sort it properly. He’d barely known how to do this when their journey began. Just one of the many things he’d learned.
A vampire-siren. Four humans. A dryad. An angel. A construct. A prince of demons. A phoenix.
Two that he’d not yet met, but he had high hopes they’d become friends as well – another vampire and a werecat. Everything he’d heard said that they were decent people and that was what mattered, wasn’t it?
They were all his friends, and were going to be his friends if all worked out. If he couldn’t stay to be king, then they’d help him find someone who could. Ken surely knew people! If his parents didn’t trust a demon prince’s judgment, then wouldn’t that of a cupid or a phoenix be worthy?
They were his friends. He had problems and they would help him work through those problems.
I wonder if we can keep traveling after this. Maybe that was something he could do for his people, if not be king. He could be an ambassador, traveling all over the world, to all different types of realms. This could only be the beginning. They could make connections, forge alliances, and meet new people from one end of the world to the other.
His friends would help with that, too. He believed that down the core of his soul. A fresh start for all of them. He hoped it was an auspicious one.
The End
Notes: They have so much ahead of them. And one day I will write it. I hope.

Wip for an old ish avatar au that i spent waaay too much time thinking about lol
Taichi: fire bender —sun warrior ancestry! Travels around a lot in order to help Hikari learn all the different bending practices (surprise shes the avatar) His friend from the water tribe gave him the tunic/vest! Powerful but lacks finesse/discipline. Sora berates him for having his fire bending rely solely on his emotions. Is more wary of certain moves ever since The Incident w Hikari :(
Sora: also a fire bender and Taichi’s childhood friend! She an extremely talented fire bender and likes to spar with Taichi, whom she regularly beats! Hikari’s fire bending teacher bc of reasonsssss. Really likes fire-bending matches/spars!
Koushiro: From the Earth Kingdom, as a child he thought he was a non-bender but quickly realized, no, he just wasn’t a bender like his parents. Dislikes using his fire bending bc 1) late bloomer and thus has little control, 2) makes him feel even MORE distant from his parents (who dont know his bending has come in)
Mimi: torn between non bender and Water bender, but shes from the earth kingdom! Her town is in the lush mountains surrounding the capital, and theyre quite skilled at plant manipulation via water bending. Loves traveling and wants to see the world!! She is an amazing gymnast!
Yamato: Water bender—has a difficult time with it because of his personality (traumaaaa). Like Taichi, he is powerful but has trouble controlling it at will.
TK: Non-bender. Bc of this Yamato worries but hes been learning martial arts via bending styles—particularly air bending—from a ‘friend’ (he later awakens air bending powers similar to what happens in LOK except we dont fuck up the avatar cycle)
Hikari: the avatar!! No one knew until she turned 8! She grew up as a fire bender and has always loved nature and been fascinated by history and folklore!
Jyou: a non bender. Hes a healer from the water tribe. Feels bad for not being able to continue with the water healing practices his family has passed down. He is determined to find new and different ways of healing and wants to travel the world to find what he as a non bender can do—he works super hard and gets along well with Kou!

Digimon AUdventure Rec Post
Hi, guys! Man, if there’s one thing the last few days sure have shown us, it’s that we sure are a series of fleeting electrical signals stored in decaying meat husks, slowly realising that our attempts to impose order on a world that seemingly operates on dream logic are futile!
There’s no punchline here!
Have a distraction!
Tumblr media
Digimon Adventure 2020, available with a one week delay entirely legally on Crunchyroll, is a re-imagining/straight up AU fic of classic late 90s anime series Digimon Adventure 01, which followed eight Japanese children as they are thrown into an alien world and partnered with eight Digimon, monsters that evolve into more powerful fighting forms.
With excellent character writing, an intricate but often laconically conveyed lore and symbolism, a lot of social commentary which completely passed over my and also most people who weren’t Japanese’s heads and which fanboys apparently get quite angry about if you remind them of it, and some surprisingly fun battles, Digimon Adventure 01 would go on to spawn several movies and two sequel series, following the kids into middle school, high school, and all the way into their early twenties.
(And beyond, because Last Evolution is almost certainly getting a sequel eventually, having left itself open for one and with Toei being very fond of money.)
It also spawned several series set in different continuities, including dark and brooding Lovecraftian horror Digimon Tamers; peppy Super Sentai/Kamen Rider inspired adventure Digimon Frontier; fresh and aimed-at-very-young-audiences Appmon; 90s style cop show Digimon Savers; and prolonged test of my fucking patience Digimon Xros Wars.
Digimon Adventure 2020, while it has yet to show the same writing chops as Adventure 01, is a well-written, well-animated show with eight immensely likeable but very different main characters. At its best, it manages to achieve heights of being straight-up epic that 01 rarely did, and at its worst, it’s still a whole lot of fun with a lot of heart to it, written and produced by people for whom this is clearly a passion project.
Tumblr media
At the time of writing, it’s completed two story arcs and is on a third, one that pits Local Enthusiasm Peddler Taichi Yagami, Feral Tsundere Yamato Ishida, and Happy-Go-Lucky Threat To National Security Koushiro Izumi against Algomon, a plant Digimon who wants to cause havoc with trains and also nuclear missiles; one that introduces Super-Jock And Spirited Kindness Advocate Sora Takenouchi, Rich Girl And Dictator Of The Plant People Mimi Tachikawa, and Competitive Panic Attack Player Jyou Kido, and sets the kids against shadowy eye monster Eyesmon; and one that sees Yamato’s little brother, Takeru, joining the team and clashing against arc villain Devimon, while Sora and company attempt to stop a squid lady from attacking Singapore.
It’s great fun! Unless you hate monsters covered in eyes and child endangerment! Then it is not great fun!
Tumblr media
Other things about the series:
-- Taichi is constantly enthusing about how clever and brave Yamato is, and Yamato is constantly responding by scowling at him like he wants to hit the poor guy.
-- Sora has a knife!
-- The Takaishida brothers have no sense of self-preservation and it’s terrible.
-- Ominous Feather Scenes.
-- The pervasive sense that you aren’t being told something, and are missing a crucial piece of the puzzle.
-- Jyou demolishes a small bamboo hut with the sheer raw power of his anxiety.
-- Questionable parenting!
-- Taichi enthusiastically refers to Mimi as Queen Mimi and almost never questions by what legal and ethical right she has declared herself sovereign over a small kingdom of plants.
-- SkullKnightmon, one of only two good things about Xros Wars, shows up.
-- The soundtrack is actually legitimately amazing. While the writing may lag behind 01′s, Toshihiko Sahashi’s soundtrack is easily one of the best in the entire franchise, and a pretty decent contender for one of the best soundtracks in the industry.
Tumblr media
Time will tell exactly what is up with the series, there’s been a handful of events indicating that it might not be as much of an AU or reimagining as the production staff claim it to be, but either way, it is both an excellent series and a great entry point to a really excellent franchise.
(Except you, Xros Wars! Give me back the forty hours you stole from me!)
Tumblr media
Anyway, I recommend it, and standing at a little over twenty twenty-minute episodes right now, it’s perfect for either binge-watching or watching one episode at a time in between doing other things. I 100% promise you won’t regret it, unless you do.

Digimon Adventure x Fire Emblem Three Houses AU
AKA the AU in which I plop the cast of Digimon Adventure in to Three Houses and watch what happens. Neat.
First of all, shoutout to my pal Ashley who schemed this whole thing up with me one night when we got bored. She proceeded to watch the entirety of Tri. with me in under twenty-six hours, so she’s one of the real ones.
Second of all, none of the parents are in this. Why? Three Houses relies on parental angst, and all of the Digimon parents are too good to be involved with shit like that (yes I know we don’t know Jou, Daisuke, or Miyako’s parents shh it still applies). The exception to this rule is Hiroki (Iori’s father).
Third of all, I’m adding daggers to this AU. Why? Because I said so.
With that said, let’s get into this.
First House: Crimson Lizards
The first house of this universe replaces the Black Eagles. It covers the region on the southern area of the continent known as the Adrestian Empire. Its leading family is the Yagami line.
Taichi Yagami - House Leader - Minor Crest of Seiros Taichi is an axe fighter with a Crest of Seiros. He’s the leader of the Crimson Leaders and the future ruler of the Empire. He’s confident and optimistic, easily earning the respect of those around him thanks to his natural charm. However, this hides a few dark secrets involving the Yagami line.  Taichi’s courage is unmatched, and he fights with a bold battle style to prove this. He relies on axes and gauntlets as his main weapons. He has an advantage in both as well as authority. Meanwhile, his skills with faith and reason magic are poor, and he’s not great when it comes to flying either. He has the potential to be good at armor as well when trained. Taichi is fast with high strength, able to obliterate most of his foes easily, though he suffers from poor magical resistance.  Taichi was one of many children born between the emperor and his many consorts. He had a variety of older and younger siblings, but he was the only one born with a Crest, prompting him to be named as heir to the house. One by one, the rest of his siblings disappeared, and none of them resurfaced saved for his younger half sister, Hikari. He has grown incredibly protective of her as a result. Taichi also grew up as a close companion of Sora, and the two are close friends even years later.
Sora Takenouchi - Noble Student - Minor Crest of Cichol Sora is Taichi’s childhood friend and heir to House Takenouchi, a powerful house within the Empire. One day, she will grow up to become the prime minister of the Empire, but she is far from being a typical noble given her personality. She’s Taichi’s primary confidant as well since they grew up together. Sora is a mercenary, fighting with swords and gauntlets a good chunk of the time. She is also good with lances, and she has a budding talent in both faith magic and flying. However, Sora struggles when it comes to heavy armor or horseback riding, and she’s poor with daggers as well. She relies primarily on skill and speed when fighting, though her strength and defense are also strong. She’s well-rounded, but she fails to excel in a given area.  Sora grew up with the expectations of the world on her shoulders, and she grew to loathe the way others ignored her feelings in favor of their own opinions. Taichi was the main person to listen to her when they were growing up, and the two became mutually supportive of one another. Despite this, Sora could sense that Taichi was struggling with other things, prompting her to start bottling her emotions from a young age. She has become so numb to her own suffering that she believes herself to be incapable of love.
Koushiro Izumi - Commoner Student - No Crest Koushiro is the adopted son of two merchants within Adrestia, and he is the only commoner student in the Black Eagles this year. He is known for being incredibly inquisitive and curious when it comes to Crests. Koushiro admires all of his classmates, wanting to become closer to them after years of struggling to reach out to others.  Koushiro’s class is wyvern rider, meaning he has strengths in lances, axes, and flying. He’s not as strong in dagger, gauntlet, or horseback riding, but he does have potential in archery. Koushiro is a tankier member of the group, maintaining strong defenses and incredible strength. He is on the slower side though, and he is far from being strong in magic.  Koushiro’s birth parents were Crest researchers who stumbled upon a few things they shouldn’t have shortly after his birth. As such, they were killed by unknown figures who would later be revealed to have ties to the church. Koushiro was taken in by a few distant relatives, too young to remember his birth parents. He remained curious on the subject of Crests like his parents were, and he still tries to find out more about them despite not knowing of his true heritage.
Hikari Yagami - Noble Student - Major Crest of Fraldarius Hikari is the younger of the two surviving Yagami children, though she is not set to inherit the Empire like her brother. She is on the shy side, but she is still known for her empathy and kindness. Hikari lived a rather sheltered life, so she is simultaneously curious about and afraid of the world at large. She hates the dark greatly due to her past.  Hikari acts as the healer of the class, specializing in faith and reason magic. Her skills with a bow aren’t bad either. However, she is poor in the categories of heavy armor, axes, and gauntlets, leaving her as the opposite of her brother. Hikari’s weaker constitution contributes to her being stronger in the magical fields, and she’s highly lucky as well, but her defense from physical attacks is very low.  Hikari was born without a Crest as a child of the emperor and one of his consorts. As the years passed by, her siblings started to go missing, and Hikari was one victim of such. She was taken away from the palace where she was experimented on by Crest researchers involved with the Church of Seiros. Hikari was the only person to survive the horrors, and she wound up with a Major Crest of Fraldarius despite not being great with physical weapons. Only Taichi is aware of the truth behind what happened to her, as he was the only one she told after returning from the experimentation. Hikari tends to avoid using physical weapons most of the time, claiming instead that she doesn’t have a Crest unless she is forced to reveal the truth.
Second House: Azure Wolves
The second house is known as the Azure Wolves, and it consists of students from the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus. The ruling family of Faerghus is the Ishida line.
Yamato Ishida - House Leader - Minor Crest of Blaiddyd Yamato is the somewhat stony and closed-off leader of the Azure Wolves. He isn’t a bad person in the slightest, instead being an incredible person to rely on when he gets to know someone, but he fears reaching out to others. Yamato is very defensive of his younger brother, Takeru, and such can drive him to extreme lengths at times.  Yamato’s class is soldier, meaning he is skilled with lances. He is strong with swords and authority as well, but he is far from being a mage, possessing poor skills in faith and reason magic. Yamato also suffers when it comes to flying, but he does show potential with daggers. He has high strength, speed, skill, and defense, but his luck and resistance are far from being the best.  Yamato’s life began with him living alongside his brother, Takeru, in the palace of Faerghus. This all came crashing down when his parents split in a bloody divide. His mother and Takeru moved away, and the two brothers didn’t see each other again for years. Yamato made friends with one of his guards, a young man named Kyukichi. Yamato found himself falling in love with Kyukichi, and the two became incredibly close over the years. However, Kyukichi was defeated in battle, leaving Yamato paranoid about reaching out to others in case they died as a result. Shortly after Kyukichi’s death, news reached the Ishida household of a tragedy in a nearby territory: Yamato’s mother had been assassinated, and Takeru was gravely injured in the attack. This was the first time the brothers saw each other after their family split, and Yamato was far from being happy. Yamato was dragged back to the palace without Takeru, but his concern for his brother only grew. The two were apart until they came to attend classes at the Officers Academy together a few months later.
Mimi Tachikawa - Noble Student - Minor Crest of Daphnel Mimi is a kind, empathetic young woman with a strong distaste for violence. She is a firm pacifist even in the face of bloodshed, never wanting anyone around her to get hurt. She is prone to being overwhelmed by her emotions, causing occasional outbursts on her end, but she has good intentions. She is set to lead a noble family upon coming of age.  Mimi’s class is the pegasus knight. She is strong in lances, flying, and faith magic with a budding talent in reason magic. She isn’t anywhere near as strong where axes, horseback riding, or armor are concerned though. Her fighting style is reliant on skill and speed in particular, but she is otherwise rather well-rounded.  Mimi grew up in a life of danger, always fearing what could lurk around the corner. She knew that she was set to inherit a noble house, and the dangers of such became apparent to her from a young age. Many guards of her family’s estate were forced to sacrifice their lives for Mimi, and in some cases, she witnessed their demises. She grew to detest violence, wishing that she could give up her status if it would stop people from giving up their lives for her. She only fights because she knows that there is no other option. Unlike how Sora grew up as friends with Taichi, Mimi and Yamato were separated throughout their early lives since neither wished to reach out.
Jou Kido - Commoner Student - No Crest Jou acts as the somewhat anxious over thinker of the Azure Wolves, always trying to think seven steps ahead. He can get panicky at times, allowing his fear to control him, and he is far from being a social butterfly. Jou still attempts to take responsibility as the oldest member of the house despite this. He comes from a family of merchants.  Jou is an archer. He has strengths in bows, faith magic, and daggers. He lacks prowess in heavy armor, flying, and authority, though he does have potential in lances. Jou is a bit of a glass cannon, relying on high critical chances and speed rather than his defenses. In particular, he is vulnerable to attacks from enemy mages.  Jou’s family is known for being a prominent line of merchants in Faerghus, but since Jou has older siblings (Shin and Shuu) to take up the family business, his parents wanted him to become a knight. Jou didn’t want this path for himself in the slightest though, instead wanting to heal others. He kept this idea private though, not wanting to let anyone down if he diverged from the path set before him. Jou takes up faith magic in private, and he secretly brews medical potions, though not even his fellow classmates are aware of such. Mimi is the first one to find out, but he swears her to secrecy.
Takeru Takaishi - Noble Student - Major Crest of Dominic Takeru is Yamato’s younger brother and a noble of Faerghus. He grew up apart from his brother, explaining the difference between them. Where Yamato is dark and quiet, Takeru is optimistic and hopeful, making friends easily. He’s a bit of a flirt as well, though he primarily uses his skills on Hikari, Daisuke, and Ken. Much like Sora though, he has a nasty habit of bottling his emotions.  Takeru is a mage, and he has strengths in faith magic, reason magic, and lances. He’s weaker in the departments of heavy armor, gauntlets, and axes. He has budding talents in both bows and daggers. He has high magic, skill, speed, and resistance, but his physical strength, defense, and luck are rather poor to contrast such.  Takeru, much like Yamato, was born to the king of Faerghus and a noble of a nearby house. Following a sudden divorce, Takeru went to live with his mother, who chose to use her maiden surname. He began to develop attachment issues, not wanting to lose anybody the way that he lost contact with his father and brother. These came to a head shortly after the death of Kyukichi when an assassin snuck into the Takaishi estate. Takeru witnessed the murder of his mother before being attacked himself. He received an awful wound to his stomach, leaving him struggling to get by for quite some time. Yamato visited briefly, and the two vowed to become close since they never had the chance to beforehand. Yamato was forced to return to Ishida lands, leaving Takeru alone to recover for the next few weeks. When the two met up at the Officers Academy a few months after the assassination, they were practically inseparable. Takeru’s unhealthy issues with losing people have remained though, and he would do anything to defend the newfound connections he has formed with both Yamato and the other ten students.
Third House: Golden Dragons
The third and final house is the Golden Dragons. It consists of students from the Leicester Alliance. The Alliance itself is led by the Motomiya family, and the house’s leader is Daisuke.
Daisuke Motomiya - House Leader - Minor Crest of Riegan Daisuke acts as the eternally loyal and upbeat house leader of the Golden Dragons. He is kind almost to a fault, believing everyone has good within them somewhere. He has a special way of drawing people out of their shells with his infectious nature. Daisuke greatly admires Taichi and Yamato from afar, though the former is the primary subject of his affection. Daisuke is a brawler, fighting primarily with gauntlets and axes. He is strong with authority as well, and he has a budding talent in sword usage. On the other hand, he is poor with lances, reason magic, and faith magic. Daisuke relies on high critical chances and his overwhelming natural strength, but his defenses are poor, especially where magic is concerned.  Daisuke is the younger of two siblings within the Motomiya household. His older sister, Jun, was not born with a Crest, meaning he was left as the heir to the family. Jun married another nobleman within the Alliance, so the two didn’t interact much and as such have a rather rocky relationship. Daisuke’s father was from Almyra, so both Daisuke and Jun are half Almyran. Daisuke has suffered under common misconceptions regarding Almyran people throughout his life, leading to him hiding his heritage. He doesn’t wish to be abandoned or left alone by those who he would otherwise be friends with, so he keeps the secret close to his chest always.
Miyako Inoue - Commoner Student - No Crest Miyako is a passionate spirit from Leicester, one of the few commoners at the academy for the year. She is talkative and open, always loyal to herself above all else. She can get a bit carried away at times, not thinking before she speaks in her worst of moments. Miyako comes from a prominent merchant family within the Alliance, but much like Jou, she is not set to inherit much of anything.  Miyako’s class is the thief, leaving her strong with swords and daggers. However, she has a strength in reason magic as well, contributing to her ability to become a dancer further down the line. She isn’t the best in faith magic, horseback riding, or axes, but she does have potential to get better in faith. Miyako has high resistance, skill, and speed, but she suffers from poor defense and being squishy where HP is concerned.  Miyako is the youngest of four children within her family, and she has always been regarded as the black sheep of the group, never quite living up to the expectations of others. Since there was never enough inherent trust for her to decide her future on her own, she was pushed into becoming a knight for the Motomiya family against her will. Miyako hates that her future has already been determined for her and longs to take back a sense of agency. Some find her to be abrasive and blunt, but this is truly a defense mechanism she uses to keep people from controlling her. Luckily for her, Daisuke has no wishes to completely manipulate her, leaving Miyako feeling most open and home around the other Golden Dragons.
Iori Hida - Commoner Student - No Crest Iori is the quiet, introverted son of a knight from Leicester. His father was a fighter for the Motomiya family, but following his death, the Hida family was left feeling somewhat empty. Iori is distant and perceives most situations to be black and white. He is rather stoic as well, keeping to himself unless he is otherwise called upon.  Iori is a cavalier with strengths in lances, swords, and horseback riding. He has a budding talent in axes, but he lacks aptitude in daggers, faith magic, and flying. Iori is well-rounded with an inclination towards skill and strength. He never misses his target and is known to critical hit rather often, but his luck is somewhat on the lacking side.  Iori’s father was once a renowned knight for Daisuke’s father, but he lost his life when defending the archduke of the Alliance. Grief came to be too much for the family, and Iori’s mother and grandfather moved far from the capital as a result. This string of events caused Iori to become somewhat distanced from his emotions for better or for worse. Daisuke’s family offered Iori a place at the Officers Academy as a way of paying back the Hida family for the sacrifice of Iori’s father, and he accepted it. He wishes to become a fighter for the sake of defending the weak. Iori can unfortunately be prone to polarized thinking, believing that all things are either good or bad with no middle ground.
Ken Ichijouji - Noble Student - Major Crest of Gloucester Ken is the son of a prominent family within Leicester, and his line is second only to the Motomiya family as far as power is concerned. Ken is kind and caring, putting the wellbeing of all others above himself. He is endlessly empathetic, but he can tend to keep his feelings inside at times. Ken is shy and requires patience to get to know, but he is a great supportive voice when he gets close with others. Ken is a dark mage, possessing primarily dark magic spells rather than elemental ones. He’s talented with daggers, reason magic, and authority with a budding talent in faith. He struggles with horseback riding and heavy armor, and he’s not great with gauntlets either. Ken is a glass cannon with high offensive stats, but he can easily be defeated between his lack of evasion and low defenses.  Ken is in truth the younger of two children within the Ichijouji family. His older brother, Osamu, had a Minor Crest of Gloucester and was regarded as a genius by many. Ken felt neglected when compared to Osamu, and the only thing he really had over his brother was having a Major Crest. Osamu gained renown as a knight, but he was defeated in battle after an unfortunate accident. Ken blamed himself immediately, feeling that somehow his inferiority issues had manifested in Osamu’s fall. When his parents were overcome with grief, Ken began to mold himself to be more like Osamu as a way of becoming the person his parents truly longed for. They didn’t notice a difference in his behavior, instead applauding the shift. Ken began to feel insecure in his true nature since he thought it wasn’t enough to be thought of as worthy by his family and people, and until he went to the academy, he made attempts to shove his true personality aside on multiple occasions.
Church of Seiros
The church is the primary religious institution of the continent, and it is led by an archbishop. There are teachers at the church as well, and they are meant to preside over each individual class.
Homeostasis - Archbishop - Major Crest of Seiros Homeostasis is the archbishop of the church, and she is known for being a kind, benevolent figure cared for by all. Her sweet nature is beloved by everyone. In truth, she is a child of Sothis and partially a dragon as a result. Homeostasis has ruled over the continent from afar for generations and has gained a perfect reputation over the decades. She has changed in recent years, becoming far darker because of the influences of...
Yggdrasil - ??? - Major Crest of Seiros Yggdrasil was once the ruler of the continent through the church, but he was forcefully usurped by Homeostasis nearly a thousand years before the current year at the academy. He spent countless decades attempting to regain his footing before getting rid of Homeostasis entirely. Thanks to his special abilities, he was able to seamlessly place himself in Homeostasis’ position, changing his appearance to match hers. In truth, Yggdrasil is Homeostasis’ sibling and one of the children of the goddess, Sothis. Yggdrasil took over after the death of the goddess, but he was a corrupt ruler. Homeostasis took over after usurping him from power, leaving him alive as an act of mercy. Yggdrasil took this as a chance to scheme for the future when he would return, and that time has finally come.
Gennai - Archbishop’s Assistant - Major Crest of Seiros Gennai is an artificial being who was created by Homeostasis to act as her assistant in keeping the peace. He shares her blood since she crafted him. Gennai has kept the truth of his heritage secret for countless years, and as far as any history books are aware, he simply appeared from nowhere one day and has been serving Homeostasis ever since. He has grown nervous around Homeostasis as of late though, recognizing that something is wrong but not realizing it is Yggdrasil.
Daigo Nishijima - Crimson Lizards Teacher - Minor Crest of Indech Daigo is the teacher of the Crimson Leaders. He was once a noble of a house within the Empire, but he stepped down after seeing how corrupted the system of nobles had become over the years. He is relaxed and laid back, caring greatly for his students. In particular, he has a close relationship with Taichi, who comes to him for advice whenever he is feeling nervous or unsteady.  Daigo is an armored knight with strengths in axes, gauntlets, and heavy armor. He has a budding talent in authority while he struggles in flying, horseback riding, and faith magic. He isn’t too fast, but his strength, skill, and defense more than make up for such a weakness.  Daigo was raised to be a noble for most of his life, but all of that came crumbling down shortly after he graduated from the Officers Academy himself. He realized after entering the world of nobility how corrupt the system was and knew that he couldn’t contribute to such in good conscience. He stepped away from his post and became a teacher. Daigo has grown increasingly suspicious of Homeostasis (now replaced by Yggdrasil), knowing that something has changed within her.
Maki Himekawa - Azure Wolves Teacher - Minor Crest of Lamine Maki is the Azure Wolves teacher who hails from Faerghus. She was born as the youngest of many children, and she was not given the chance to rule over her house. She went to the academy alongside Daigo and wound up following him in becoming a professor at the monastery. She is known for being blunt and somewhat harsh, but Maki does ultimately care for those around her in her own way. Maki is a myrmidon, known for her speed and skill. She has immense strength with swords and daggers along with authority. However, she is lacking in faith magic, axes, and heavy armor. Maki has potential in gauntlets. She is difficult to hit and often criticals between her high strength and evasion, but she suffers from poor defenses as well.  Maki was once Daigo’s classmate at the Officers Academy, but seeing the horrors of war firsthand caused her to grow dark and pragmatic. She wasn’t sure of what to do with her life, not wanting to fight but not having a noble title to take up either. In the end, she followed Daigo back to the monastery to become a teacher. She and Daigo have a positive relationship, though the true depths of how close they are remains unknown.
Yukio Oikawa - Golden Dragons Teacher - No Crest Yukio acts as the teacher of the Golden Dragons. He is a longtime friend of the Hida family, having once acted as a knight alongside Hiroki. He comes off as rather kind and positive, but he hides a secret dark side. All others know Yukio as a rather bright individual looking to the future in the name of progress, unaware of how scarily accurate this is.  Yukio is a dark mage much like Ken, having benefits in reason magic, daggers, and bows while struggling in heavy armor, axes, and swords. He has potential to get better in swords. He deals heavy damage but is rather slow and at risk of dying if he takes too many hits, especially from physical weapons.  Yukio was close with Hiroki leading up to his death, as the two attended classes at the Officers Academy years before Maki and Daigo did the same. They became knights for the Motomiya line together, but Hiroki fell while doing his job. This started to push Yukio off the edge when he couldn’t move past his grief, and he became obsessed with the idea of resurrecting Hiroki somehow. Yukio turned to dark magic, and he was eventually noticed by Yggdrasil, who said that such was possible if Yukio joined forces with him. Out of desperation, Yukio followed him, unaware that Yggdrasil had lied in order to manipulate him. Yggdrasil promoted Yukio to professor of the Golden Dragons as soon as he managed to take the place of Homeostasis.
Meiko Mochizuki - Monastery Assistant - Minor Crest of Cethleann Meiko is an assistant at the monastery who has taken shelter at Garreg Mach ever since a tragic incident left her an orphan. She is introverted and shy, hesitating to reach out to others due to her own awkwardness and paranoia. Meiko hates feeling alone despite her aversion to reaching out to others, leaving her a bit of an anxious wreck a strong majority of the time.  Meiko’s class is the dark knight. She has strengths with reason magic, faith magic, and horseback riding with budding talents in lances and swords. She is weaker in authority, heavy armor, and dagger usage. Meiko boasts high resistance, skill, and magic, but she can be rather slow and suffers from poor physical stats.  Meiko’s parents were killed in what seems to be a tragic accident at face value. In truth, they were killed by agents of Yggdrasil who were trying to get at her. Meiko was taken in by the church after the incident with Homeostasis treating her kindly. However, this was all a mask, as Yggdrasil had already replaced his sister as the archbishop. Meiko was essentially gaslit into staying at the monastery by Yggdrasil, who said that nobody would believe her if she spoke out. Gennai took particular interest in her, taking her under his wing unofficially. In truth, Yggdrasil was planning on using her for her skills with magic. She showed signs of being a prodigy from a young age, and Yggdrasil was planning on shifting such to fit his plans. However, Meiko wound up turning against Yggdrasil at the encouragement of Gennai when the moment of fate came.
Other
Yggdrasil’s Crimes Yggdrasil was responsible for the deaths of Koushiro’s parents. They were getting too close to realizing the truth behind his plans, so he had them killed and covered it up as an accident. In that way, Koushiro is rather similar to Meiko. Yggdrasil was also the one who sent the assassin to kill Yamato and Takeru’s mother. The plan was also to kill Takeru along the way, but he never got the chance to do so when Takeru unexpectedly survived the attack. Security was too high in the months afterwards for him to make any further attempts.  He also had the Crest experimentation performed on the Yagami children aside from Taichi. He spared Taichi only since he already had a Crest. Hikari was never meant to be rescued, and she was instead planned to be yet another powerful soldier as Meiko was. Empire soldiers saved her before she could fall to such a fate though.  Osamu did not die in battle as was explained initially. Instead, Yggdrasil kidnapped him and reached out, intending to use Osamu for his own purposes. However, Osamu lashed out and attempted to escape, prompting Yukio to kill him. At the time, Yukio was already under Yggdrasil’s thumb and willing to do his bidding. The truth behind Osamu’s death was covered up immediately under the guise of an accident during combat.
Kyukichi Kyukichi did not die as was once expected. In truth, he was born to a few firm followers of Yggdrasil, causing him to be raised under the idea that Yggdrasil had to rule the world. He was told to become Yamato’s friend to eventually stab him in the back, but Kyukichi was given orders to retreat before the full betrayal could play out, prompting his death to be faked as Yamato fell into despair. Kyukichi continued to work for Yggdrasil afterwards, though his faith began to waver after his next mission. He was told to infiltrate the Takaishi household as an assassin, meaning he was the one who killed Yamato and Takeru’s mother. After he nearly killed Takeru, he began to grow unsteady in his confidence, but he hid such for a while longer.  Kyukichi acts as a figure similar to the Flame Emperor, appearing somewhat often throughout the Academy Phase as an enemy before being unmasked shortly before the War Phase begins. He escapes only to return after time skip.
Plot
Academy Phase
Throughout the Academy Phase, the students do things that walk the fine line between helpful and harmful to Yggdrasil, not doing any serious harm to either Homeostasis or Yggdrasil to not draw too much attention to Yggdrasil while not damaging his schemes. Kyukichi appears a few times as a masked figure who seems to be neither friend nor foe, but he does cause some serious harm later on when given instructions to finish his previous mission of killing Takeru. While he doesn’t succeed in killing Takeru, the boy is once again horribly hurt. Yamato finds him soon after, and Kyukichi is unmasked in the struggle. Yamato goes into shock as Kyukichi escapes and Hikari heals Takeru’s injuries. Taichi wonders how Kyukichi was able to invade the monastery, and Yukio reveals his betrayal as well. Soon after, Yggdrasil arrives and reveals his true plans to the group, prompting them to scatter and go into hiding. The three nations are told their heirs are dead shortly before Yggdrasil’s forces lead a widespread invasion of the continent.
War Phase It isn’t until five years later that Daigo and Maki bring the students back together alongside Gennai and Meiko with plans of defeating Yggdrasil once and for all. The twelve students come together after spending years running from Yggdrasil’s forces and decide to help Homeostasis. In the end, they succeed, and Homeostasis is once again honored as the archbishop. Yggdrasil and Yukio are killed in battle, and Kyukichi is defeated at Yamato’s hands as well. Peace reigns over Fodlan at long last, and the lost heirs take over their thrones at long last. The rest of the students stand by them as well. Meiko and Gennai work with Homeostasis to properly reform the church with the former becoming the professor of the Golden Dragons in Yukio’s stead.
Ending Thoughts
I hope you enjoyed this big old tangent from me! If you’d like more from this AU, feel free to say so, and I can try to whip up a solid plot structure for it in the future! Now, I’m going to sleep since it’s 4:30 AM. I hope you liked this mess of a rant!

One day past, and then another, and another, and another.
All he want was to back to normality, back to the long days haunting on the forest and the short nights on the arms of his lover.
But all he get from Yamato was silence, coldness, indifference, sometimes even fear.
At the begining Taichi thought that he only needed time, a few nights to cry over his lost friend, that at some point the both would talk about it, but that time never came.
And everyday that past the air felt  thicker between them,  he want to scream and run and fight, but they put him against an enemy he would never beat, a bigger obstacule than Yamato´s  bitterners
His sister talked  and whispered  and sang, always the same  nonsense, Hikari  continues all day every day, she join him for breakfast and dinner, she walked him around the halls of the castle and in the meetings with the council; and when she was not there, Koushiro was, and when they disappear and he finally could breath it was night, and he was left alone on his room with his wife.
And Yamato guarded the room
And Sora looked at him demanding something that he refuse to give
And everything he could think about was Yamato outside the room
And the woman inside the room grew impatient, but also proud; she wasn´t going to beg and he wasn´t going to bend.
In the morning Hikari was waiting for him outside the room, and Yamato looked at the floor and Taichi died for explain him that nothing happened, that he never touch her as he had touch him, but his little sister smile at him, and the routine begins again.
Days and nights, thoughts that what could be tormented him, he should stay on the island for the execution of Iory and Ken; he should never come back for the war; sometimes he wonder if it was bad luck that Kouji stroke that arrow...
“What a wonderful moon” Hikari exclaim when the same cheerful voice,  maybe a little bit cheerful that the usual “you should rest, go to bed earlier tonight”
As if he want that,  between the eyes of the lights and the lies of the crown it was the Kingdom, if something allowed him not to drown was his duty, his work, the only vow that he hadn't  broken, so he devoted himself, he worked late, hardly and constand.
“ If you need rest go to your room” he smiled stacking a pile of papers that could totally wait until next morning “ This is important Hikari”  He lied, in the corner of his eye it was Yamato, of course, silence Yamato guarding the door in the room when only he and his sister where, if only, if this time she would let them alone
“Is not as important brother, you know...” a little red appear on her sister cheeks “this moon is a powerful augury, this night  could be the night”
“The night?”
“You know…” It was not the presence of his sister what bothered him, sometimes he felt that Hikari did not exist anymore, they had somehow replaced the sweet girl who was scared of the shadows, the annoying young woman who scolded him about his manners, who joked, who laughed, for one more of them, an endless recital of light proverbs, a tool for their scams  “because it such a beautiful full moon” she mamble
“ the moon?” but behind her rosy cheeks Taichi somehow saw a glimpse of his little sister “ should I let my work because of the moon?”
“Brother!” Hikari was there “You may not know, but the moon is a light vessel, its dictade the fluctuations of the soul, enlight the spirit, especially those from  women” she avoided his eyes “and I don't ask you to quit your job, just to focus on one of greater importance”
Taichi late a minute to catch up on her words “What you want Kari?”
“Is not about what a i want brother! is more about what I know” she lowered her voice Was she trying to prevent Yamato from listening to them?
“I dont think you know as much as you think”
“I have been studying the texts, I have looked at the stars, I have prayed every day since your return, I have ..."  she stuttered "I have monitored the fluctuations in the queen's body, believe me, toning must be the night”  the knight at the door turn around
He stand up, livid in anger and shame  “you have no right!”
“Brother!”
“Dont you dare!” he feels the rage burning his skin “Dont call me brother when you act like nothing more that a priest!”
“I only want the best for you!”
“The best for me? is this the best for me? did I look like the best I had been? HOW?! How you have time for stars and book and prayers when you are watching me all day?!”
“I´m not…”
“Yes you are! Do you think i don´t know? that I´m stupid?! You are here talking about trues and life and you lie and kill”
“I never…”
“You are killing me Hikari, don´t you see? all this pat that your light draw end with my death” he laughs, sitting again “ you are just like the rest of them, are you still my sister Hikari? are something of you still there?”
“What do you mean? of course im your sister”
“Then talk to me,  ask me if I want any of this, act as if you care when I´m suffering!”
“Of course I care! but brother you must know, suffering is how we gains forgiveness, sacrifice  will give us the eternal paradise, is the only way for The Light to enter in our souls “ the words of a priest, Hikari spoke with such a devotion, Taichi was sure she believes every single line “Only through suffering can we atone our sins”
“what do you know about my sins?”
she said nothing but her eyes move to the door
“Live me alone sister” His voice drop a shadow between them
“I cant…I have orders ”
“orders from who? You are nothing more than a lady of the court”
“I´m a sister of The Light!”
“No you are not! you are  a tool! a pretty face that they train to recitate old passage! They haven't even let you give the votes!, did you know why? “ he stand up “because you are the princess of the mountains, you are the key to our parents titles and everything than you are doing to me sister, they are gonna force on you too!  and I remind you I'm still the damn King of all the living land and I command you to leave me alone!”
She shook and tremble, her little body looked like it would broke
“Yes your majesty”  a little bow, not a single tear  “ I must inform you that the queen is waiting for you on your chamber” she walk out,  not before calling Yamato to follow her,  finally leaving him alone.
And felt alone indeed, not Hikari or Yamato turn back to looked at him when they walk away, he knew he had lost his sister, it was not sudden; slowly the claws of The Light had dragged her for years until they took control of her entire body, there was nothing he could do to get her back, but Yamato …
Taichi leaves his study and walked with the head up and stop in front of the door with no guards, sacrifice would bring him paradise.
Sora was sitting near to the window, holding a book she wasn't reading, it wasn´t even midnight when her husband appear.
“You are late” you stupid, stupid man
“I know” she didn't expect him to talk back, he never did,  He took so long but finally walked until her and took her hand, one knee on the floor “I need to know, did you want a son? is really your wish or is a mandate of The Light?”
She move with confusion, only Taichi ever ask for what she want
“I want a heir, I don't want the legacy of my father to died with me” he expect sincerity “and I… I wish for a baby, I want to be a mother it has nothing to do with The Light”
“ fine, then I'm gonna need your word”
“My word?” she was used to be ignore by him, but this? Taichi suddenly care and for onces she was completely lost
“Yes, the promise that you won't kill me as soon as you have a heir”
“I would never do that!” she rush and dear heaven he touch her shoulder; he had no right, when was the last time anyone touch her? was that his fear? that was what was holding him back?  a hope that she thought dead blooms
“Promise me that you won't let them kill him” a stupid woman for a stupid man “Promise me….”
“And what about the promises you made to me?  what about your lies? how you dare to ask me for anything!”
“You need it to be my son” who was that men? why the sudden confidence? “promise me that you won't let them kill him”  he repeat “promise me that Yamato would be alright” the audacy
She thought in refuse, but only the fools fight a battle already lost.
“You have my word” she didn't need his heart anyway, she only needs his body, his  touch, his hands, his strong arms took her and carried to their bed “But you must never lie to me again”
That's smile, he closed his eyes and stroked her skin, what a horrible way to be a gentleman, if only she care, if only they had not already passed the point of no return.
She undress herself, he do the same.
If it was a defeat, she hope every failure in life feels that good

Digimon Adventure Hogwarts AU
@whatplanetdididial asked about my Hogwarts headcanons! I developed some ideas in my one-shot, Hogsmeade Tomorrow, but I'm such a huge nerd that I have a lot more ideas!
Many of the headcanons below come from conversations I've had with my sister, but some ideas I thought of myself just for this post. I'll write about more than the Hogwarts Houses, because I'm more interested in adapting the characters' backstories to the Harry Potter universe.
Taichi Yagami - Gryffindor - Pure blood
Unlike Harry Potter, who comes from an abusive muggle household, Taichi the protagonist comes from a happy home and is one of the best-adjusted characters. Therefore, I think that the Yagamis ought to be more like the Weasleys than the Potters. They're a kindhearted magical family and they provide a solid rock for the more troubled characters to lean on. Taichi himself has a magnetic personality and easily befriends both muggles and magical folk. But his best friends from childhood are Sora, of the Noble House of Takenouchi, and Koushiro, a muggle-born. Taichi has a teasing personality and sometimes says insensitive things about muggles, but he never means harm, and he learns from his mistakes. And even if he complains about schoolwork, Taichi loves exploring the castle and is eager to learn more about both the magical and non-magical worlds.
Taichi, bearer of the crest of courage, is a perfect fit for Gryffindor. He’s one of the two easiest characters to sort. He plays for the Gryffindor Quidditch team, and maybe becomes team captain. He could be a chaser or the seeker.
Although the Yagamis are a loving family, they carry a heavy burden. Taichi’s younger sister Hikari is a Seer. When the siblings were little, she recited a prophecy to her brother that foretold the death of the Dark Lord Vamdemon: twelve children working together as a team would find the power to defeat him. As the years pass, the siblings learn who their teammates are meant to be. While Hogwarts’ Headmaster Gennai believes that these children must obey the will of Fate and fulfill the prophecy, Taichi believes and insists that they still have free will. Because of his clear-eyed attitude and faith in his friends, Taichi makes an excellent leader for the team.
Sora Takenouchi – Gryffindor – Half-blood
Sora’s mother Toshiko comes from a noble pure-blood family. The Takenouchis own the largest magical garden in the United Kingdom. However, Toshiko married a Squib, Haruhiko, who had been cut off from his own magical family. Their marriage was a widely-publicized scandal in the wizarding world, meaning that Sora was famous before coming to Hogwarts. People she meets tend to fall in one of two categories: they over-romanticize her parents’ love story, or they insult her parents as blood traitors. The reality is harsher for Sora; her parents are married but they live apart for their jobs. While her mother presides over the Takenouchi estate, her father is a mythology professor at Oxford. It takes Sora years to understand their love for each other.
Sora does not show an aptitude for magic until she is eleven years old, and she worries about being a disappointment to her mother, a powerful sorceress. It is easy for young Sora to imagine that her mother resents her and her father for ruining her social status. Sora rebels by playing Quidditch, which Toshiko thinks is a dangerous sport. She becomes best friends with her neighbor, Taichi, but she keeps her early struggles with magic a secret from him, out of fear that he wouldn’t understand.
I think Sora would be an excellent Gryffindor! She is extremely brave and protective of her friends from the very beginning of Adventure. Sora joins the Gryffindor Quidditch team alongside Taichi, and would make an excellent chaser, seeker, or even Team Captain. She definitely becomes prefect and Head Girl. Sora loves helping the younger students, regardless of their House.
Sora and Taichi befriend Yamato, another half-blood Gryffindor, in their first year. She finds that she has a lot in common with him. During an adventure, Sora and Yamato run into Dementors and discover that they are both particularly vulnerable to the monsters. But they help each other to cast Patronuses and escape.
Yamato Ishida – Gryffindor – Half-blood
Yamato and Takeru’s mother is a witch, and their father is a muggle. (This was my sister’s idea, and it is the best idea in this post.) After their parents’ divorce, Yamato went to live with his father, while Takeru went to live with his mother. So Yamato and Takeru have very different childhoods! Hiroaki Ishida, a television reporter for the BBC in London, has a difficult time raising his wizard eldest son. Yamato grows up knowing a lot more about the muggle world than the wizarding world, and he remains fiercely defensive of muggles when he finally leaves for Hogwarts. However, he grows to love Hogwarts, because of the friends he makes, and because Takeru eventually joins him there.
Yamato is a Gryffindor and I can’t see him any other way! He is one of the bravest and proudest characters, and his character arc is all about how he acts chivalrous towards his younger brother. Yamato often acts before thinking, such as when he dove into the sea-serpent-infested lake to save Takeru in episode 3. (Yamato absolutely dives into the Black Lake to save some tiny first-year at some point.) His strength doesn’t come from being rational or logical; his strength is that he has an enormous heart and he acts instinctively to protect people. Like a Gryffindor! And like Sora, I think he becomes Gryffindor prefect and Head Boy.
Another reason to make Yamato a Gryffindor is that he and Ron Weasley have similar roles. (If Ron were in the Adventure universe, he would surely have the crest of Friendship.) Both Yamato and Ron are close friends to the protagonist; both betray the protagonist and leave the group (in the seventh book / in the Dark Masters’ arc); and both return to the protagonist and redeem themselves. Their betrayal is more interesting if they start out on the same team as the protagonist, in Gryffindor.
Additionally, Yamato forms a rock band, the Teenage Werewolves of London, which becomes popular with both muggles and magical folk.
Koushiro Izumi – Ravenclaw – Muggle-born
There are so many ways you could adapt Koushiro’s backstory to the Harry Potter universe, since he has biological parents and adoptive parents. Ultimately, what works best for me is that both sets of parents are muggles. I want the Hermione-esque muggle-born drama for our smartest wizard, so his biological parents should be muggles. But I also want Koushiro to be raised in a muggle family so that he feels even more curious about the wizarding world! Koushiro’s muggle adoptive parents worry that they’re not good enough parents for a wizard son, and Koushiro’s worries about fitting in with his parents are exacerbated.
When the Izumis realize that their adoptive son has magic powers, they move to the countryside to protect him from prying eyes. Luckily, Koushiro ends up befriending his magical neighbors, Taichi and Sora. (Though Koushiro never likes flying on broomsticks with them.)
Koushiro, bearer of the crest of Knowledge, is a perfect fit for Ravenclaw. He and Taichi are the two easiest characters to sort. The only reason it is difficult to put him in Ravenclaw is because it means he would be separated from his Gryffindor friends. But while Koushiro is certainly brave, he isn’t as outspoken as Hermione, and I don’t think he views himself as a brave person. He views himself foremost as an intelligent person.
Koushiro still finds time to hang out with his friends, since he doesn’t worry too much about grades. When he isn’t going on misadventures with Taichi, the two boys can often be found playing Wizard’s Chess in the Great Hall. Since many wizards hate muggle-borns, Koushiro appreciates his friendships a lot.
Mimi Tachikawa – Hufflepuff – Pure-blood
Like the Yagamis, Mimi’s family is mostly pure-blood, because I think that’s a good way to translate her innocence to the Harry Potter universe. She is a little spoiled and ignorant of the challenges that muggle-borns and squibs face. It’s also a good way to contrast her with Koushiro and Sora, whom she becomes friends with. (Mimi has, of course, heard of the Takenouchi family, and she thinks they are super romantic!) In spite of her ignorance, Mimi is naturally kind and loving towards muggles.
Mimi is a Hufflepuff because I want to emphasize her kind heart and idealistic nature. While Mimi learns to be brave over the course of Adventure, her kindness is what inspires an army of digimon to follow her. Mimi is the proudest Hufflepuff you’ll ever meet; she loves living in the non-judgmental House where students prioritize being nice to each other. I don’t think that Mimi views herself as a brave person (in comparison to Sora), or even an intelligent person (like Koushiro), but Mimi does try hard to be warm and welcoming. And she is proud of that.
Mimi has a natural affinity for both Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures. She struggles with other classes, especially Defense Against the Dark Arts, which requires fighting. Mimi is popular and well-liked among the student body, but one of her best friends is fellow Hufflepuff and awkward nerd Jou Kido.
Jou Kido – Hufflepuff – Pure-blood
I like the idea of the Kidos being a respected magical family with long history of producing Healers. From an early age, Jou decides that he wants to be a Healer, like his father. Jou’s parents and older brothers were all sorted into witty Ravenclaw. But the Hat immediately sends Jou to Hufflepuff before he can object.
Jou is the ideal Hufflepuff: loyal, hardworking, trustworthy, kind. While he cares about school and grades more than any other character, he wasn’t created to have the crest of Knowledge. He was created to be the moral compass. Koushiro values learning for the sake of learning; Jou views school as a means to an end: to become a doctor, to help people.
It is easy for Jou to feel disappointed in himself. He studies harder than his older brothers, but he struggles to cast simple spells. He internalizes that Hufflepuff is the “loser” House, while the genuinely talented students go to other Houses. He overhears his classmates snicker that he’s practically a Squib.
Fortunately, Jou makes good friends at Hogwarts, especially Yamato, Sora, and Mimi. Mimi teaches Jou to be prouder of Hufflepuff and to relax once in a while. Jou’s older Ravenclaw brothers also watch over him. Jou’s diligence eventually pays off as he becomes Prefect and Head Boy.
Takeru Takaishi – Gryffindor – Half-blood
The tricky thing about Takeru is that he has a different role and personality in each season of Digimon. What’s constant is that he has to contrast with Yamato and Daisuke. (He’s extroverted while Yamato is introverted, and he’s experienced while Daisuke is inexperienced.) I think the popular fandom perception of Takeru nowadays is that he is clever and likes to troll people, and that he’s a ladies’ man. This is the route that Tri is taking with him. Based on that, I’d sort him into Slytherin. But the Takeru that my sister and I have developed in fanfiction is pretty different from Tri’s Takeru. I’m more influenced by the first two seasons, so I’d sort him into Gryffindor. While he relies on his older brother, Takeru is very brave for his age, and he is eager to become independent. Takeru also displays a flair for chivalry in 02 since he acts protective of Hikari, and that’s something I would have liked to see developed more. So, Gryffindor!
Another reason I’d sort him into Gryffindor is because I want Hogwarts to represent a happy place where Yamato and Takeru are united and can spend more time together (like the Digital World is). The easiest way to do that is to put them in the same House. I think that Takeru would choose Gryffindor for that reason alone.
Takeru is a half-blood who grew up with his witch mother, while Yamato grew up with their muggle father. Natsuko Takaishi went to Beauxbatons in France before moving to England, and she now works as a journalist for the Daily Prophet. Takeru takes after his mother and also loves writing. He fits in magical society better than his awkward brother. He joins the Gryffindor Quidditch team with Taichi and Sora, which gives Yamato opportunities to feel jealous of how close Takeru is to them.
Hikari Yagami – Gryffindor – Pure-blood
Hikari is also a tricky character to sort because the narrative doesn’t allow her to grow much. I think it’s easy to sort her into Hufflepuff because she’s “nice,” and that’s her main personality trait in the show. But my ideal character arc for Hikari would be that she learns to stand up for herself, which is a great arc for a Gryffindor! I’d like to show that Hikari is brave in her own way and that she grows to be independent. I also think it’d be fun to sort her into Gryffindor to show that she and her brother have more in common than they think, and they grow to be closer friends over the years. I think that bravery is something that Hikari values and emulates in her brother.
Hikari is a Seer who delivered a prophecy to Taichi when they were young. Because of her talents, the Dark Lord Vamdemon targets her, and Taichi is very protective of her. Hikari knows that her talents make her odd, even among wizards, and she tries to keep them secret.
Hikari brings the Yagami cat Miko with her to Hogwarts. Her human best friends are fellow Gryffindor Takeru, Hufflepuff Daisuke, and Ravenclaw Miyako. She loves Divination, but over time, as she gains confidence, she also learns to love Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Daisuke Motomiya – Hufflepuff – Muggle-born
I love the idea of Hufflepuff Daisuke! I think it’s important to contrast him with fellow protagonist Taichi. Taichi’s arc is about learning what true courage is, so he fits Gryffindor perfectly. I think that Daisuke always looks more reckless and immature than Taichi, but Daisuke’s true strength comes from his faith in humanity. He sees the goodness in everyone’s hearts. He forgives people’s mistakes easily. He believes in his friends, even when they don’t believe in themselves. Since Daisuke truly values kindness and giving people second chances, I think he’s a perfect fit for Hufflepuff.
Daisuke is a muggle-born with muggle parents and a muggle sister and he never knew anything about the wizarding world until he got his letter. Then he becomes extremely excited to be the Best Wizard Ever. However, upon arriving at Hogwarts, he slowly realizes that people look down on muggle-borns. He also struggles with schoolwork and worries about fitting in. He wishes that he could be in Gryffindor with Taichi, Hikari, and Takeru. He thinks that Taichi and Hikari are the coolest kids in school.
But Daisuke has a cheerful spirit and can’t help but love Hogwarts and his friends. Even though everyone underestimates him, he is the one who inspires Slytherin Ken to redeem himself. Daisuke also learns to love Hufflepuff, and he eventually becomes Team Captain of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team.
(Daisuke was also shocked to learn that Yamato Ishida, lead singer of the Teenage Werewolves of London, is a wizard. His sister Jun loves his band and wants Daisuke to introduce her to him.)
Miyako Inoue – Ravenclaw – Half-blood
I like the idea of Miyako being a half-blood to contrast with Muggle-born Daisuke and Pure-blood Ken. This way, she also gets to keep her love of muggle technology. Her family runs a store in Diagon Alley in London, where she can keep in close contact with both magical and muggle family members. She loves both muggle and magic cultures, and hates that the wizarding world has to stay a secret.
Miyako is outspoken enough for Gryffindor and merciful enough for Hufflepuff, but I love to sort her in Ravenclaw to emphasize her curiosity and intelligence. (I also think that Miyako acts eccentric like Luna Lovegood!) This also makes it easy for her and Koushiro to make friends and start an underground computer club in the technology-averse Hogwarts. Miyako excels in all subjects and eventually becomes a troublemaker prefect. (She likes to sneak into the other three Houses and she thinks that the House system is stupid. She also abuses her powers to award lots of points to Mimi. And of course, Miyako protests any teacher who looks unqualified.)
Miyako is especially protective of her young neighbor Iori, who joins her in Ravenclaw. She is the second person to forgive Ken for bullying muggle-borns, after careful consideration.
Iori Hida – Ravenclaw – Half-blood
The tricky part of sorting Iori is that I think he’d make an excellent Gryffindor, and I admit that I’m partially motivated by wanting to make the Houses “balanced.” (I already have so many Gryffindors!) I think that Iori certainly values bravery. He stood up to BlackWarGreymon and Oikawa, all by himself! However, I think that he values curiosity and intelligence as well. He’s a serious student and he prefers a cautious approach. He’s wise beyond his years. And if he’s in Ravenclaw, it’s easy for him to first find a mentor in Koushiro, before later meeting Hufflepuff Jou—which is the order he befriends them in the show.
I also think that Iori would choose Ravenclaw because he views his neighbor Miyako as an older sister, and he would like to be in the same House as her!
Iori’s father, Hiroki, was an Auror who died in the line of duty. Because of this, Iori hates Dark wizards and Dark magic more than any other character. Iori’s mother is a muggle-born witch. They moved in together with Iori’s grandpa on his father’s side. The Inoues recognized that the Hidas were struggling, and so they offered neighborly support throughout the years. Miyako, their youngest, became the closest to the Hida boy.
Iori is the last person to forgive Ken for flirting with Dark magic and bullying vulnerable children.
Ken Ichijouji – Slytherin – Pure-blood
Ken is the only character that I sort into Slytherin. I like it that way! He’s an outsider from the rest of the group. He’s the only character who starts on the “dark” side. In this case, translating that to the Harry Potter universe means that the Ichijoujis become an intolerant Noble Pure-blood family. Ken has particularly hated muggles since his older brother was killed in a muggle car crash.
I also view Ken as the character who is most motivated by ambition, and he is the only character I would describe as “cunning.” Ken has little regard for Hogwarts school rules, even if he appears to be the perfect student. He is an unregistered Animagus who can turn into a caterpillar (later a butterfly, after character development). He is also the youngest Quidditch player in a century, and he enjoys beating that foolish Mudblood Daisuke in Quidditch matches.
Ken finds a magical diary that inspires him to attack muggle-born students, which the Potions Master Yukio Oikawa slipped to him. Fortunately, Daisuke and the others are able to save Ken from the diary’s dark magic, and all of the afflicted muggle-born students return to normal. After Ken realizes how vile his actions were, he begins a long journey to redemption.

Mimi vs. the forces of Evil
Prompt: Disney AU (Star vs. The forces of Evil inspired) Pairing: Koushiro/Mimi Rating: General Audience Digimon Adventure
Tumblr media
I was trying to decide on which Disney film or show to base my prompt and which characters to use for this one, and I came up with this short drabble. Mimi seems a lot like Star, and this is one of fluff ships, so I hope you enjoy this one.
Koushiro was busying typing away on his laptop, he was wearing headphones while in the background, Mimi was riding a wild unicorn trying to tame the horse as it tried to shake her off, kicking nearby objects while the girl screamed with excitement, happily grinning, holding onto the unicorn with one hand and in the other was green and pink specter with roses around it. The redhead was trying to study as he turned up the music on his headphones as the other then started firing random blasts of pink energy all over the room.
“Sorry Izzy, don’t worry about it! I’ve got it.” Mimi apologized to Koushiro as he then grabbed his laptop and ducked when one blast went flying toward him as it walls leaving a scorch mark.
“Sure thing, no worries...” He said grabbing something from under his desk, it was a helmet that he placed on his head as he continued to study as random object hit his now protected head.
“My bad!” Mimi said along as she then conjured a rope of light using it as a saddle, grinning as she managed to get a good grip on the unicorn.
“Forward my majestic steed! Woo-Hoo!” She said as they charge off slamming through a wall as Izzy saw the now a hole in his wall, just shrugging it off.
The unicorn ran down the stairs with Mimi holding on tightly, Koushiro’s parents were on the couch, his father reading his newspaper, and his mother was watching her program on the television. “Hey, Mr. and Mrs. Izumi! Have a magical day!” Mimi shouted as her unicorn smashed more of their furniture barely missing the two parents as they acted like nothing, while Mrs. Izumi just smiled waving slightly at Mimi.
“Mimi is such a polite young lady, and so full of energy, wouldn’t you say dear?” She asked her husband who just smiled at her, nodding his head in agreement.
“Yeah, and she seems to be making Koushiro more sociable, and outgoing huh?” He added as the two just ignored the mess in their living room, as the Unicorn’s charged out the window making another hole but no before Mimi popped back through it.
“Don’t worry I’ll fix all of that in a second!” She said before rushing back out on the horse. She managed to stop the unicorn before getting off it, as she then aimed her wand at the animal.
“Soothing relaxation calming wave!” She shouted as a green and blue beam fired from her wand hitting the unicorn as it began very docile, calming down as it started eating grass.
“Aww, you’re so cute when you're non-threatening...” The long haired girl said as she stroked the unicorn’s mane, before looking back at the damaged house.
“Fantastic house repair blast!” a color sphere formed the tip of her wand before firing a blast that covered the entire house, as all the damaged were restored to normal.
“Thank you, Mimi!” Koushiro’s parents said in unison through the window as she waved at them, then looking up at Izzy’s window.
“Izzy! Hey, bestie, you wanna go get some ice cream in the frosty dimension, it’s the best ice cream in all the known realms!” She shouted as the other teen heard her, before looking back at his computer as he then pressed some buttons and close its lid.
He then went over to his window, opening it and sticking his head out “Ah... Sure thing, gimme a sec.” Izzy answered the girl as he then got on a thick red jacket with a fluffy hood, gloves and two scarfs.
He came downstairs said goodbye to his parents as he met Mimi outside, he then handed her a scarf as she wrapped it around her neck, before using her magic to change her clothing to a winter attire. The girl then shook her wand transforming it into scissors as she cut into the air as a portal was formed in front of them as they then stepped into it, and then a few seconds later Mimi’s head stuck back.
“Unicorn. You stay right here, don’t leave the backyard. Love you bye!” She said before going through the rift as it then vanished.
The unicorn just kept eating grass before the sound of someone’s car siren set it off as he neighed loudly before jumping over the fence running off somewhere, the sound of it destroying random objects, a car being smashed, an alarm ringing, and people screaming was heard. Meanwhile, Mimi and Koushiro arrived in an arctic-like setting, snow on the ground with cold winds blowing all over.
Mimi was a 15-year-old magical princess from another realm who had been sent to Earth by her parents in order to continue her training with her family’s all-powerful wand in a safer environment and to keep her out of trouble. They enrolled her in a school, and there she met Koushiro, he was assigned to be her guide and his parents offered her room at their place as they became a second family to her.
Her days consisting of doing homework, training to master her magic, and learning how to become a proper queen to rule and guide her kingdom, but mostly she focused on having fun, going on adventures with Koushiro, fighting monsters and bad guys, discovering the culture on Earth, and exploring new realms. Koushiro’s life was turned upside down as his scientific mind was open to the supernatural world, and he had gained a new friend.
“Come on Izzy, that ice cream’s not gonna buy itself!” Mimi grabbed his hand making him blush as she dragged him along to the snow heading towards the a large ice cream shaped building, both smiling as they ran through the snow.

Meanwhile with DigiAdvs 02 [...and some O.C.s]
Ken, to Inter-national O.C. Chosen Shane: Tell me {"US"} what else you saw. {In, the "Digital" Void} Shane: ... Ken: Like those "landmarks" you mentioned. S h a n e: ... Shane, Deep sighing: ...Fine. Shane: I could only "float" ("get pulled") through, so I wasn't going along *completely* by my own will. But at the same time, once the "landmark" came into view... I WANTED to Know what it was about. Because there might have been "hints" in that place as to "what was happening to me". Ken, nodding: (Go on...) Shane, grunting a bit in frustration when remembering 'that': ... So I got "pulled" closer to the landmark, and my partner... well, "they" usually follow along with me. (I'm not sure if I should tell "this person" that my partner has *control*...) (*Doesn't*) So I had a small "idea" it was an actual landmark, I just had no idea what I'd find there. Shane, recounting further: So I entered from the digital "stream" above, but suddenly... I landed. Ken, echoing: You "landed". Shane, NODDING: There was something similar to "gravity" there, except there *wasn't*. Ken, Wheels turning in Mind: ... So, how did you "land"? Shane: I'm not completely sure... but once I "explored" further, I realized the "digital space" surrounding "that" place may have been "warped". Shane: I saw something that looked like "Mt. Fuji" but then thought, "that can't POSSIBLY be Mt. Fuji??" KEN: ... (Oh no...) Shane: But it looked *scary similar* in silhouette. So I "landed" at random, and then (stumbled around) *walked* around, looking for any "clue" - if there even *were* any. And then, I found a "hidden place" that looked like it once had PEOPLE there... KEN: Shane: - But there *wasn't* any people around - but there WAS "tech" - "DIGITAL" related "tech" from OUR world. Ken: (That's the "scrap data"... that's 'normal'...) Shane: I had seen similar before, too, but this kind... it was once FUNCTIONAL. KEN: (... Oh no.) Shane: Over half of this "area" was already in ruins. There was shattered glass in one area of the ground... And the place itself looked like it had been "abandoned". But I went up to one of the strange "technological"-like "capsules" - that looked large enough to *hold a human*. Ken: (Oh NO.) Shane: The majority of these "tech" pieces still had their 'lids' on, but some clearly had pieces that broke off over time, because that glass was on the ground too. The one I went up to, though - it had a Digital panel ON it. And because I know a "little bit" (a LOT) about coding, I could ACCESS IT. Ken: What did you find?? Shane: It looked like the panel had BEEN accessed once before... AND, whoever accessed it, LET OUT whatever was inside. As if "whoever" was in there was once "held" or "contained" in there. Or... Ken: ... "Trapped?" Shane: Yeah. The glass was *heaviest* around a capsule *across* from the one I accessed too, like it had *mostly* shattered from *that* specific "capsule". And there were *exactly SEVEN others like the one I accessed*... KEN: ... 8 in total. SHANE: ... Yeah. KEN: ... ("Eight Chosen Children") SHANE: Except ONE of them had that extra glass near it. But it TOO was in an "open" state... KEN: SHANE: So I checked *that one's* panel... and that was when I also realized the glass was removed from the INSIDE. KEN: ... (Whoever inside was trying to "escape".) Shane: So I checked the panel's logs to see if I could figure out at all what had been happened there. It had big "ERROR" recordings all over - like the capsule's functioning was interrupted from the moment the damage began, even if it had been trying to keep the "subject" contained a little longer. Shane: So ... I reasoned, the one inside "this" capsule must have "let out" or "rescued" the ones inside all seven of *the rest*. *Whoever* it was... they *had knowledge* OF coding AND "hacking" to be able to access these panels. KEN: (... It's not unusual for some "Digital" beings, but when you add in "Eight Chosen" relevancy...) SHANE: ... And. The whole place was about ready to self destruct. Or. You know. Explode KEN:

Flowery facts | Koukari Enlighten Month 2021
Koukari Kingdom AU series [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]
A/N: Part 4 already! Dedicating this one to @earlgreymon because it's your birthday! This little drabble is more of a short one-shot. Heavily implied Taiora, especially for my girl! I even hinted Mimato for you ;) And another little Easter egg: Ts(ubaki). That's all you get, you can figure out the rest yourself hehe...
Happy birthday my dear girl Sky! Wanted to make sure you wake up to this on your special day. And hang in there, I hope this will bring some light to your tougher days <333
Day 13-16: Flower/Animal | Characters: Hikari (pov), Koushiro, Sora (Taichi + very background jyoumimatokeru with Mimato romance) | Genre: Fluff | Wordcount: 887
xxx
Flowery facts
“Aren’t they pretty?” Sora said as she looked over the field with flowers, eyes beaming with joy.
Sora grew up in another kingdom where her mother was the gardener of the royal palace. One day Hikari and her brother had accompanied their parents to the other kingdom for a quite formal state visit. Hikari was still very young and couldn’t remember much, though the thing she could remember best was Sora and the way she had taken care of Hikari during their visit. Ever since that time Sora had been like a sister to her and it truly warmed Hikari’s heart.
It had warmed Taichi’s heart as well.
Every time their parents told them they were visiting the adjacent kingdom, Taichi was the first one screaming to tag along. Mom and dad thought he had a crush on princess Mimi, but it was Sora Taichi was interested in. Prioritizing his duty over his feelings, feeling obligated to marry a princess, Taichi kept those feelings hidden for everyone including Sora. Instead their bond blossomed into a strong friendship, the secret romantic feelings for his beloved Sora always with him as both a burden and a blessing.
It wasn’t until Mimi was married of to Taichi that he started protesting against the obligations. Luckily for him, Mimi had fallen in love with the royal musician so she protested too, but with no luck. Mimi who was friends with Sora as well, asked Sora to protest against the wedding by telling she had fallen in love with Taichi, and would be here to win him over. To everyone’s surprise and without any hesitations, Sora had said yes.
Suspicions rose and Mimi informed Taichi with the convenience of which he packed his backs and courage to travel to the other kingdom only to confess to Sora in the middle of a beautiful flower field. He had repeated random facts about different flowers he knew she loved, leading up to the moment of him confessing. All Hikari knew was that Sora had been speechless at first, but after overcoming the first shock (“but I thought I had to be the one to confess…”), she had answered him with a sweet kiss on the lips, making them fall right into the flowers. The rest was history and Hikari always swooned by the romantic image of her brother and her sister-in-law. If only she—
“Did you know the different colors of the Tsubaki* all have a different meaning?”
“Ah, adviser Izumi-san!” Sora said.
“Sorry for the interruption,” his voice sounded like a whispering song to Hikari. “And please, call me Koushiro, your Highness,” he bowed ninety degrees.
“And you know you can call me Sora, Koushiro-san,” she winked. “Oh and stop the bowing!” She waved with her hand to make him stop. Hikari chuckled, Sora hated all the formalities, just like Taichi. Hence why both of them took every opportunity to just be normal people safely between the walls of their castle.
“My bad, Sora-san.” He corrected himself before turning to Hikari, sweetly nodding in her direction. Hikari’s throat turned dry a little.
“Better. Anyway, I didn’t know you held an interest in flowers?” Sora smiled, one eyebrow raised showing her genuine interest.
Hikari had been quiet all this time, unable to say anything, watching their conversation flow. Her mind, however, was with Koushiro, wondering if he too had memorized facts about flowers. Hikari’s heart skipped a beat, her cheeks showing a pinky blush.
“I have an interest in knowing and learning as much things as I can. Flowers, however, are dearly to me. They remind me of my parents, you see…”
As Koushiro rambled on about the meaning of specific flowers, Sora nodded along with his sayings, every now and then chiming in. Hikari could only watch and listen, seeing and hearing the two persons she (secretly) admired so much. Sora looked at her between Koushiro’s ramblings, then the castle’s bells ringed.
“You know what?” Sora said, standing up abruptly grabbing Hikari’s wrist and pulling her to her. “You can tell princess Hikari-chan here everything about flowers! If you’ll excuse me, I have to check on my husband.” And without further ado she left Hikari and Koushiro behind.
Hikari gasped, her face heating up with a speed she couldn’t fight against. She hoped Koushiro would break the ice, but he looked a little panicked, so she shook her head and swallowed hard, trying to be bold like a true Yagami.
“W-What do you think of red roses, Koushiro…-san! Koushiro-san?”
It was the first flower that came into mind and of course it had to be the most romantic one. Her eyes grew wide, staring at Koushiro waiting for him to tell her it was an off question. But he didn’t, instead he smiled that smile she adored so much and Hikari swooned away upon seeing it, her heart making a somersault.
“I think they’re quite romantic.” A blush arose on his cheeks matching her own rosy ones. She herself mimicked his smile with one of her own. “Care to show me the red roses, Hikari-san?”
Like a real gentleman he offered her his arm and Hikari linked her arm with his, wanting nothing more than to show him the red roses and listen to all the flowery facts he could share with her.

Guiding lights | Koukari Enlighten Month 2021
Koukari Kingdom AU series [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]
A/N: PAIN IN THE *SS! But I made it ugh...
I was just thinking... that it's funny... with Koushiro's role in this AU... and Hikari's 02 epilogue job in the future... they both in some kind of way are kind of guiding lights... Right?
Day 9-12: Past/Future | Characters: Koushiro (POV), Hikari | Genre: Fluff? | Wordcount: 481
xxx
Guiding lights
For the umpteenth time that week, insomnia captured him in a state of being awake and Koushiro decided to wander through the halls of the castle. As he walked past one of the hundreds of rooms, he caught a glimpse of princess Hikari standing by the window, staring at the stars in the night’s sky.
Gathering his courage, Koushiro took a deep breath in and knocked on the door asking for permission to enter. After receiving her permission, he stepped into the room as quiet as possible, though he could have known by now Hikari was a hyper aware person as she immediately spoke upon hearing him entering the room.
“Do you ever think about what the future holds for you, Izumi-san…?”
Koushiro swallowed at that question after he bowed ninety degrees. “I think I’ll just stay working here in the castle as your royal—” Koushiro stopped midsentence, his face red, “I mean, as your family’s royal adviser…”
Hikari turned around to face him, slightly chuckling. Koushiro decided to chuckle along.
“You’re my royal adviser too, of course,” she sweetly said. It made Koushiro melt a little, swallowing once again. “Maybe you could give me some advice?”
“I-I guess I can try…?
Hikari smiled at him, her eyes locking with his before her gaze shifted back towards the stars in the sky. Koushiro followed her trail of sight.
“My brother was always destined to be king one day, meant to guide and do great things. And me? I am just a simple princess,” Hikari sighed. Koushiro wanted to reassure her, but words were missing, so he stayed quiet, carefully listening to her. “I would like to mean something to others someday too, just like the stars light the sky at night.”
Koushiro stepped closer to the window, taking in the starlight that seemed to intrigue Hikari so much. He nodded to himself, formulating his thoughts.
“The moon could light up the sky on its own every night, but it will never be alone in the sky, because it needs the stars to shine as bright as it does.”
“So the moon is my brother and you and me are like the stars he needs to shine as bright as he does?” Hikari wondered out loud, one eyebrow raised.
He smiled. “Yes. But it depends on how you interpret it.” Koushiro concluded, although he wasn’t sure what it would bring her. “Sorry princess, I know it’s not really the advice you expected. I don’t even know what I’m saying myself…”
Hikari turned her head to look at Koushiro once again, the reflection of the stars in her eyes making Koushiro’s heart skip a beat.
“I always wanted to be a teacher,” she said as she smiled at him.
And all Koushiro could do was smile back, thinking she would make a fine teacher one day. A beautiful and kind guiding light.

Three cubes of sugar | Koukari Enlighten Month 2021
Koukari Kingdom AU series [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]
A/N: Way too late, but, you know, life. It's not always sugar and spice ;) However, this thing was sitting in my drafts for nearly two weeks, maybe even longer xD
Enjoy the sweetness, I'd say!
Day 21-24: Sugar/Spice | Characters: Koushiro (pov), Hikari (Taichi, Sora) | Genre: Fluff | Wordcount: 490
xxx
Three cubes of sugar
“As your royal adviser I strongly advise you to not go there,” Koushiro calmly said as king Taichi poured something hot over his food. He had watched him and his queen Sora bicker over the spiciness of the food, Sora liking her food spicier than Taichi. And Taichi seemed to not be able to lose that to her.
Where Sora silently rolled her eyes at her husband’s antics, continuing eating, it was Hikari who spoke.
“Nice try, but he won’t listen.”
The younger sister was right. Even pulling the royal adviser card didn’t work, so Koushiro decided to leave him be. Instead he looked to his left where Hikari was seated across from Taichi. She smiled, something Koushiro thought was really pretty on her.
“How about you?” He asked her bluntly, speaking his mind before thinking it through. It was an effect she had on him more often recently. Anxious for her reply Koushiro fumbled with his golden cutlery. It earned him a small chuckle from Hikari who noticed his fumbling.
“Me?” She replied, putting down her own cutlery and turning her face towards Koushiro. “I like my food sweet, just like my brother. The only difference is I’m not scared to admit that.” She teased while worriedly looking at the happenings opposite from her.
Though Koushiro only had eyes for her.
“So sweet huh?” He thought out loud which made Hikari look back at him again. He blushed a little, wanting to carefully continue their sweet, little conversation. As he looked at his cup of tea he politely questioned her “May I ask princess, how many sugar cubes go into a cup of tea?”
“Three without a doubt,” came Hikari’s quick answer. After a short thought she added “Maybe two when the—”
“… milk is sweetened.” Koushiro finished her sentence. It was as if she had spoken the exact words that lingered on his mind when he asked her the question. Their eyes locked and they shared a little giggle, a moment Koushiro wanted to last as long as possible.
And they could have shared that moment a little longer… if it wasn’t for the king to scream and leave the table because of the spiciness. Both Koushiro and Hikari watched him go without pardon.
“Sometimes I really wonder why he became king…” Koushiro heard the queen wonder out loud. He looked at her. Sora looked back at him and Hikari across from her as she stood up from her seat. “You two would make a very sweet king and queen.” She winked, then excused herself to help her husband by handing him some tea with three cubes of sugar, a small smirk on her face as she walked away.
Exchanging looks, Koushiro and Hikari wildly blushed at each other, then quickly returned to their plates with food. But Koushiro wasn’t hungry anymore, his stomach filled with sweet and dartling fireflies shining a light on his unknowing mind.

Mornings | Koukari Enlighten Month 2021
Koukari Kingdom AU series [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]
A/N: Hello readers! Happy Koukari Enlighten Month to everyone who follows September for this sweet Koukari challenge (: Koukari is a pretty new ship to me, but one I absolutely adore! Thanks to @earlgreymon. A while back I created this Taiora x Koukari Kingdom AU thingy for Sky and I decided to go along with this AU for this Koukari challenge.
All short, cute and fluffy Koukari focused drabbles (with some serious background Taiora sorry not sorry I can't help myself). It turned out to be not as 'Kingdom-y' as it could be, so you have to imagine the clothing, castle and setting yourself ;p Or as @seventeenlovesthree said as she proofread a few of my entries: "It could also be an office AU". Oh well, enjoy anyway :3
Day 1-4: Morning/Evening | Characters: Hikari (pov), Koushiro, Sora, Taichi | Genre: Fluff | Wordcount: 190

Mornings
Every morning, right after breakfast, Koushiro walked in to check on Taichi and the day's schedule. At first she didn't think much of it, seeing Koushiro solely as one of her brother's employees he was way closer with than others, actually building a friendship with the redhead. But at some point that viewpoint shifted. "He's kinda cute, don't you think?" Sora had said one day. She had probably seen Hikari staring in his direction. It made Hikari blush. What made Hikari blush as well was the way Koushiro looked in the morning. The first few weeks he looked decent upon entering the dining room, but as time passed he grew more comfortable around all of them, looking more casual and relaxed in the morning. She liked his fluffy morning hair and how the fresh cologne smelled on him. The way the morning sun lit up his face was what lit up her day. His genuine smiles, his smart talking, how he sighed whenever her brother made a stupid comment once again... It all made her heart beat a little faster.
The morning was definitely Hikari’s favorite part of the day.

Inferiorty | Koukari Enlighten Month 2021
Koukari Kingdom AU series [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]
A/N: Another pain in the *ss... But we're here anyway!
Day 17-20: Dream/Nightmare | Characters: Koushiro (POV), Hikari | Genre: Angst, Hurt/comfort | Wordcount: 464 xxx
Inferiority
He was standing in a dark room with two spotlights. One of them shone a light on him while the other lighted the scene unfolding in front of him. It felt as if he had been tied to a chair, only to watch the blonde haired guy with the friendly face steal princess Hikari from him with his small talk and sweet gestures. There was nothing Koushiro could do, simply because the blonde guy did nothing wrong. No. It was Koushiro who did things wrong, or rather didn’t do anything at all. He couldn’t talk, he couldn’t move, there was nothing he could do but to watch his own spotlight slowly fading out, his body feeling heavy and tensed in comparison to the light featheredness opposite from him. His whole being feeling inferior to Takeru Takaishi, the adjacent kingdom’s royal adviser.
With the slowly fading spotlight, Koushiro shot his eyes wide open before sitting up right. His breathing was heavy and loud, sounding as if he had just ran a hundred miles or so. Koushiro swallowed, heavily blinking his eyes while trying to remember what had made it seem like such a bad nightmare. Realization hit him that the possibility of losing princess Hikari to Takeru made Koushiro incredibly anxious, even when him and Hikari weren’t a thing, and a blush formed on his cheeks.
Was he really that into the princess?
“Izu— I mean, Koushiro-san?”
But before he could continue his thought, the voice abruptly pulled him out of it. Koushiro turned his head sharply towards the door where the voice came from and was met with Hikari’s questioning eyes.
“Excuse me for interrupting, but I heard you hyperventilating from the other room before… ehm…” She fell quiet for moment, her eyes leaving his now staring at her feet. “Before I heard you say my name,” Hikari whispered, loud enough for Koushiro to hear. The blush on his face intensified.
“I-I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you worry—”
“No! I just wanted to make sure everything is alright and…”
It was the second time she fell quiet, her eyes now back looking into his. The inferiority he had felt in his nightmare flooding back to his senses, thinking Hikari was about to say the words he didn’t want to hear.
“I’m in love with Takeru-kun,” but instead her words were something completely else.
“And that you shouldn’t worry so much, because I… like you,” she said, the blush he felt burning on his own face now mirrored on her face as well. It made Koushiro’s heart pound a little faster. Her words were marked in his thoughts for long and with it his inferiority was fading, giving room to his spotlight again, shining a light on the dream he secretly held.

If you really want to find me
The ambiance of the night had put everything in perspective. The music was light, the people were happy and dancing, the lights were shimmering, making the dresses sparkle. And the masks sparkle even more.
Hikari had stepped outside for a little while, taking in some fresh air. She had been asked to dance by some people and it was fun, but she hated she couldn’t see their faces. All those dances felt more like a warming up, but until now, the actual main act -the only thing she really cared about tonight- hadn’t shown his face yet. Besides, she didn’t even know whether he was at the party and if so, what he looked like. After all, it was a masked ball.
A little bit upset, Hikari had found her way to the castle’s garden, the paths lit by dartling fireflies. Hikari sighed. Those fireflies seemed so light, floating in the air while lighting up the sky and complimenting the stars. She, however, felt heavy and loaded and it was hard to give it a proper name. Hikari scanned her surroundings before taking off her mask.
“You’re not supposed to take off your mask,” A familiar male voice said. Hikari turned around to be met with a man dressed in a suit and a purple mask, his maroon colored hair betraying his identity.
“I needed air, Koushiro-san,” she smiled. Her eyes then fell on an empty jar in his hands, those said hands nervously around the jar. As he caught her peeking, her eyes showing question marks, he offered her the jar by stretching his trembling arm. “For me?”
He nodded, a nervous smile appearing beneath the mask covering his eyes. Hikari could see him swallow and she looked at him curiously, flattering feelings slowly overwhelming her. Her stomach filled itself with a tingling sensation as she stretched out her own hand to accept his unusual gift.
“To enlighten the path to understanding,” Koushiro started, his voice calm and sweet, sending goosebumps all over Hikari’s skin. “To brighten up the way to each other like stars paint the skies at night, so I can easily find you in the crowd. Shining with the lights of a thousand fireflies.”
Hikari could feel the tears sting behind her eyes and she smoothly blinked them away. She was touched that he had given her such a thoughtful gift on a night like this. And as sweet as it was, she knew she couldn’t just give in to him like that.
So she took a step forward, the jar in one hand, the mask in her other. Before she spoke, she placed the mask back over her head, covering her eyes and face for him, the only thing visible for Koushiro the smug Yagami trademark grin on her face.
“If you really want to find me,” she started, stepping just one little step closer to fully close the gap between the two of them. Close enough for her lips to meet his in a gentle and short, but very loving and teasing peck. As she left his lips again, Hikari continued, “remember my lips.”
She swiftly turned around while turning the lid off the jar, obvious enough for Koushiro to notice to let him know she wanted him to find her. And even though she would catch some fireflies, it was just for show, because Hikari knew her lips would be enough of a gift for the both of them.
