Imperial Frogz Space Marines
Imperial Frogz Space Marines
These Space Marines were my first foray into Warhammer 40k, way back in 1992. I’d seen a local game store display the Sons of Elvis chapter, so I did a silly home brew chapter, too. The Imperial Frogz. And that’s a lot of green. 99% of my army is beakie marines, and gret deal of them are old school Rogue Trader minis, as well. I filled in the ranks with newer models as they came out. I mean to…

It was a real thrill to get to draw the old #landraider vehicles from the #cursedearth - I had the original #matchbox toy when I was a kid, should've kept it for reference :-) #rebellion #ianedginton https://www.instagram.com/p/Ckb_AhxqFxS/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Lord of Excess was a big letdown for me. But it made me realize one very surprising thing: McNeill isn't such a bad EC-author! There are far worse ones out there!
At least Graham had two shining moments of brilliance in Crimson King (immediately dropped the ball afterwards, but, hey, babysteps!).
So, let me forget about McCormick. He gave me hope with a really good short story and a good first half of a novel. But now, with this second half of the novel riddled with logical inconsistencies, holes in the story big enough to drive a landraider through without scratching the paint and the endless same-same of "betrayal-idiocy-depravity", I need him to walk away from anything EC as briskly as possible. Let my poor guys bask in the fading glory of Reynolds and the few things Kyme, Wraight and St.Martin wrote. Maybe someday some author will come along to carry Josh's torch further! But not today.
At the moment it's fanfiction and fanart for me.
(Pic of Lucius just because I want to. And because McCormick didn't let me keep any good chars. He destroyed them all. To shreds, you say?)

Ser Octavius surveyed his battleline. Preparing for the assault to come.
The Saguine Knights, Fleet Based Successor Chapter of the Blood Angels, had come to Forgeworld Snifflick after hearing the Distress Calls of the Covenant of the Omnisiah. The Skitarii defenders had done well to contain Hivefleet Behemoth, but they had been unable to push into the most corrupted parts of the Forgeworld. Today, Ser Octavius and Court Librarian Merlinius would change that.
The Tanks of Trebuchet Company were deployed. All that was left was the order to assault. The objective: to open a hole in Tyrannid Line, and to cleanse the birthing pods scattering the battlefield (the orange leave piles. Work with what ya got). He gave the order, and the treads of the Emporer advanced.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Company advanced, bringing the full might of the Emporer to bear. Lascannons scoured the flesh of the Xenos, bringing down great beasts before they could even react to the assault. On the right flank, Ser Octavius and the Rhino Carrying Black Squadron ran into early trouble. The genestealers meant to break open the Rhino and Slow the Tactical Squads advance. Ser Octavius, in response, heroically charged the brood, sure he could bring the beasts low before they could open up the APC.
It is unfortunate, then, that Ser Octavius has the wrong of it. The Xenos was Cunning this day, and knew that killing him and the Librarian would be worth a hundred line brothers. The Assault Marines deployed from the landraider, hoping to save their Warlord.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, it was too little too late. Ser Octavius was thrown from his bike, his armor torn asunder. As he lost consciousness, his thoughts were only of vindication, praying that Merlinius would finish the Job.
Tumblr media
Merlinius would have no such luck. I'm fact, it was all the Librarian could do to survive and avoid a rout. Both Landraiders had collapsed under Tyranofex fire, and the objectives seemed impossible to secure. Meanwhile, Behemoth was out for Blood, bringing weapon after weapon crashing down on the Wizard and his honor guard. As the terminators around him fell, Merlinius ordered one last charge. They'd take this objective, or die trying.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A final charge was ordered, to some success. Tactical Squad Green was able to take and hold the left objective, giving a path to victory. Tactical Squad black charged into the frey, hoping to hold the center and steal a victory. A last desperate push.
Tumblr media
That ended not with a bang, but a whimper. Ineffective charges meant that time would decide this battle. Merlinius, the last of his Bodyguard dead at his feet, sounded a fighting withdrawal. The retreat saw the death of most of the enemies great beasts. The biomass lost today would be a terrible blow. They would hold the Xenos this day, true. But this was no victory. Just like the Skitarii before them, the Space Marines had failed to cleanse the planet. This would be a long campaign. Merlinius have the order. The Death Company would son be Unleashed.

I dont know why its so hard for me to just sit down and build sometimes. Its so relaxing and fun once I start.
Now I want to build more vehicles! (I just have to decide if I'm gonna make my Landraider to fit the Ultramarines or the Mortifactors 😅)

To Mr. Herik:
I hope this correspondence finds you well. Has the goose taken well the Consortium? Oh and I have a question... what was the best gift someone had given you
"The goose …?" Herik looks up from the datapad. Glances around the lab atrium for a moment, as if just his thought of the bird could lure the animal out somewhere. He waits for some time. The ticking and beeping of the apparatus fills the room. There are also muffled sounds from further away that could be screams. Otherwise it is quiet.
But Herik has learned that the goose can be very quiet when it wants to be. Duco has made it a habit to release the animal from its aviary again and again. No matter how many locking mechanisms Herik and Fabius add - eventually the goose reappears in places where it has no business being. That Duco is the culprit is also only a guess. So far, nothing could be proven against the Night Lord - but he makes far too big a badly acted show of it when he is accused of not being the one to release the bird.
Similarly, how the goose navigates the dangers of Urum without being eaten remains a mystery. Virtually every creature on the Consortium's world is clearly deadlier than the bird - long-forgotten experiments that have multiplied in underground chambers, the mechanically clanking descendants of the Chirurgeon, or mutant rodents the unusual size of Landraiders. Not to speak of the Astartes!
And yet - without any discernible caution and with an aura that makes it clear that the bird believes itself to be the Alpha Predator, the goose keeps roaming the halls.
The Apothecary sighs and writes with the quick messiness of every doctor since the dawn of time: "There is disagreement among colleagues involved in the experiment as to whether or not the goose embryos should be left in artificial eggs until fully matured and hatched by surrogate parents. In my opinion, as natural a gestation as possible is conducive. The goose itself is healthy and surprisingly robust. No traces of mutation are showing yet."
He muses a little to himself, then adds, "The greatest gift I have been given is undoubtedly Lord Fulgrim's Gene-Seed. It has allowed me to evolve far beyond what I would have been able to do as a human."
He wants to elaborate further, but then raises his head.
A noise?
Silence.
Herik puts the pen back on the datapad.
Tap. Somewhere behind him in the room. He closes his eyes briefly. The senses of an Astartes are far above anything a human would perceive. Where did that sound come from?
Aha! He turns around. Directly behind him stands the goose. Stares at him with yellow eyes. "HONK!"
"Slaanesh's tits and cock, Duco!!!"
The Night Lord's rasping laughter sounds softly from the darkness further back.

D20 said nine. So here's First Captain Raldoron for Marine Meat Monday.
He's the sane, normal one, therefor barely visible between "I have to sit on my Primarch to make sure he doesn't get bruised by anything"-Azkaellon and "Get in the landraider, loser, we're off killing STUFF!!"-Amit.
