Worlds Apart [Excerpt]
Summary: An extraterrestrial space station has appeared just outside of Earth's atmosphere. Alexis Young is part of a team sent to spend the next six months studying the aliens onboard. Upon meeting them, three things are immediately clear:
They're essentially space elves.
They are all incredibly hot.
They are all nudists.

Excerpt:
“10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, blast off!” I announce to the crew.
Funny how something as simple as that still sends chills down my spine. Granted, it isn’t really relevant in this case. Ships and rockets are completely different. But I don’t care. It’s fun.
I wave at family, friends, colleagues, and everyone else gathered around to watch us take off before finally putting a year’s worth of dreams and plans into action. I start gaining momentum, preparing to take flight as everyone else braces themselves. Once I gain enough speed, I bring us off of the ground and retract the wheels. We are now airborne. I guide us all the way to the top of the world, taking in the last sight of the beautiful land that I’m gonna get for 6 months. See you soon, guys. Once I’m far enough in the air, I bring my hand hovering above the thruster controls, preparing for the jump.
“Alright, hang on, everyone,” I warn, turning to my crewmates, “It’s gonna get a bit bumpy.”
After they grab onto their solid objects, I activate the thrusters and go full throttle, pushing us through the thermosphere all the way to the exosphere with the g-force proving to be strong, but us proving that we’re stronger. You’re nothing to us, science!
Once we breach past the last layer of the Earth, I ease up on the acceleration, bringing us to a stable cruising speed. All of us take a breath, relaxing as we head toward our target. I then decide to lighten the mood even more by turning on the intercom and saying in my best pilot voice,
“Attention, passengers, this is your captain speaking. You’ll be happy to know tha-”

Episode 2
After 6 years of me trying out to write a short story and being pleasantly fullfilled with it I decided to keep exploring my writing abilities and storytelling techniques. I wrote an episode 2 of my original short story “Breaking Through”. More Content for Lesbians
Am I the only one who thinks there is a severe shortage of entertainment available for lesbians?  I noticed after some time in streaming land that it was easy to run out of things to watch.  I realize I would love to see more entertainment available to lesbians.  So I’m starting this blog to post my poetry and short stories with lesbians in mind.

Olev
The first thing Negev saw when approaching the kibbutz was Olev working at the orange trees. It was almost summer and they were blooming.
Olev had left everything back a few years ago now to spend more time with her daughter and the Kibbutz community. They were living in harmony there and at their peace.
As soon as he saw Negev he waved at her frantically. He wasn't expected to see her so soon there. Weren't she supposed to leave for a mission in just a few hours?
Negev explained that she needed some alone concentration time and she was hoping to go to the near by bar for the night, were they could chill listening to some old tunes.
He couldn't agree more.

That night they talked and joked, ate fruits and smoke some weed, drink some beers that they would still brew in the Kibbutz like in the old time.
Then Olev asked Negev what had brought here there.
I slept with Zoe she replied. I don't know what to do and my mind is clouded with the mission and all. We haven't received too much info. We should just go there and make some measurement, but why not just sending drones? Why sending four people? I am not sure, there must be something else.
Olev was listening carefully. "Listen, we have been preparing the waterdoo for months here in the Kibbutz. We are still the best when it comes to entropy engines. Anyhow, the point is this was planned way ahead, and if something was amess with it we would have probably found out already don't you think?"
- "Yes, you are probably right. Still something doesn't sit well with me and I don't know what it is."
- "Let me tell you what it is. You are sleeping with Zoe again, that's your problem. Weren't you two over with that? Doesn't she have another person waiting for her for when she comes back from the mission?".
- "Yes, she does. But what do I have to do with that? That's her problem after all. Isn't it? I mean I barely even know her. Her girlfriend I mean. Have no idea what they do together and how they are."
- "But you still know they are together..."
- "Sure but what's the point of being together? You just make an informal agreement that you "are" with someone... and you will not do a range of things with others. I do not really get that. Does it make any sense to you? In my mind that's overrated seriously. We should get over this mindset. As a specie, the human race should get over monogamous relationships."
- "You really like her don't you? Mate you do..."
- "What if I do? It wouldn't change much anyhow... I have to clear my mind of these thoughts in a way or another."
- "I don't think you can choose to love or to not love. I am still in love with my ex wife. I will never get over her."

Purpouses
The meeting was still on but Negev never really wired into it. All this obsession with data. She never got it. She was good with it. It came easy to her to work with large quantities of information. But if you ask her the purpose of all of this? She would probably blankly stare at you. She had no idea why everyone was so data-obsessed. Especially after all the fuck up with the model. Yes, of course they had introduced the model philosophers to the equations. They had to balance them by adding meaning. That was Zoe would do. She would find the meaning of things to balance them out. Seriously? Negev always thought she could barely balance herself. After all she had been bouncing heavily between missions and relationships for a while. She couldn't made up her mind, Zoe.
Negev thought for an instant that in this post information era, people have in a way stopped consuming goods, but they are still consuming themselves on all the wrong things. Where they in for the real thing with Zoe this time?
She felt the urge to run away, run somewhere far, in the desert maybe, or just go for a swim in the sea. Forget about it all and listen to some old tunes like the world was still back in the early 2000 and she had just taken a vacation out of work.
No data, no information, no mission and no models. What about Zoe she thought for a bit? No Zoe either, no one trying to tell her what she was thinking and what she should have been thinking.
Now that she was thinking about it she could go to the desert for one day. She still had some friends living just on the kibbutz at the border. She could go there talk through the night. Smoke and drink tea. Look at the stars and think of the people that flew away to explore other planets and make a home away from home.

Dreaming in maths
The briefing was the usual detailed explanation of the mission ahead. That sort of discourse filled with details that wouldn't explain anything.
And while she was distracting listening, Negev suddenly remembered last night dream. It was so lucid. She was working on some generalised connectionism theory. In her mind everything was a graph of connections.
In her dream she saw the graph of everything. The graph of life connections. The graph of cosmology. The graph of telecommunication networks. She could see a graph given any possible configuration of a system. But this was her dream. Her investigative model, the one that she was working on in real life, was far from that sort of generality and perfection.
But in her dream everything was clear. She could finally understand the birth of stars and the birth of any fellow earthling. Human and non-human alike. The mystery was solved, and all her emotional unrest for a second was gone.
Where would that come from she thought for a while? It had always been with her. Not even Zoe could turn it off. For a small while, maybe. But it would come back and she would start doubting everything again. What would happen to them now? With the mission and everything only two days away?
Sometimes she felt like everything would repeat itself again and again in cycles. Everything after all revolves around an attractor, doesn't it? Even out of the blue singularities... She was going back to maths again and chaos theory.  Chaos was the force ruling the world. What humans had tried to explain but couldn't. Lorenz had discovered chaos in the simplest of the system, or so he thought.

The last time Negev had been with Zoe, she had run away... Or maybe Zoe had. She couldn't really remember at this time. Everything was so confusing...
She have always had this tendency to run away after all, getting cold feet and blowing it all up.. Or so she thought. Maybe there was something else that had push her away from her. That emotional unrest again or maybe a lack of mutual understanding. She couldn't tell.
She didn't know hot to make a model out of it. She didn't know hot to figure it out.

The morning after
Zoe heard a knock in the door and decided to ignore it. Afterall the sun has not even risen yet. She was one of those people that strongly believed in not thinking of time in hours. She would follow the sun and try to be in sync with nature. This meant she had time to sleep another bit.
Negev had just got back to bed, she was kind of sitting next to her, she speculated she would be looking at her back, making excuses for what happened between them last night. She was supposed to be the mission leader after all. She knew this when she accepted to be part of it.Yet she couldn't help it. She wanted an excuse herself. Something to get away from her life in the lab. Speculating over the ultimate meaning of the models. Away with her life Vardit. Her complains and fears.
When she left she just said she needed to get away for a bit, getting some field experience again. Like a few years ago when she had gone north. Another mission. With Negev again. And the same outcome. She giggled to herself. She really couldn't helped it.
It had been her to get closer to Negev the night before. She had tried to be distant, as usual, keep the conversation dry and the sentence shorts. But Zoe had suggested to go for a walk, and maybe a swim: "I am sure you still do that any night". She said...
And they went. They walked on the sand of the desert border, it was almost pitch dark and the starts were bright as ever. And she suggested she had wished many times they could share such a view of the stars together.
And as they kept talking, of the models, of time and space, of how people live nowadays, the distance between them got shorter.
She giggled thinking Negev was probably making a model in her head of what was happening between them. But she had grew to accept her ways. She was a mathematician after all. They do that. They easily can get caught in their models without understanding the meaning behind it. That's why they are always coupled with a model philosopher during missions...
As they arrived to the tanks, the moon started to appear over the horizon. The night wasn't that dark anymore. Negev took her shirt off and Zoe couldn't help but stare at her naked body under the moon light.
As she tried to shake away her thoughts, she quickly took off her clothes and jumped into the water.
It was warm but not too much. Smelled of salt and algae. It was thick. Exactly as she remembered. She had missed that place for so long.
While she was gazing at the starts, she found out Negev was swimming just half a meter underneath here. She came to the surface and spat water in her face.
The distance was definitely getting closer.
So close, that a few minutes later she was behind her. She could feel her breath so close to her neck and ear.
"It is nice to have you here again." - She just whispered, and timidly kissed Zoe on her cheek.
Was she supposed to resist? Was she supposed to ignore this? The water felt so warm now.
Negev started to caress her wrists with her finger almost grabbing her hands.
A million thoughts went through Zoe's head in only the blink of a eye. She had really meant to say: "you know we shouldn't". But she couldn't help it but turn around and kiss her softly but fully on her mouth.
The both of them sink under the swam salty water for what it felt like a million years and surfaced once again as their lips parted.
Zoe came back from last night memories as you would from a dream. Negev was caressing her shoulder trying to wake her up gently. “Uhmpf.. Is it time already?” - “Almost, we are meeting in about three hours”.
Zoe took her hand. Negev looked surprised.
