Rottmnt Headcanon #2

Leo likes to chew on things that he shouldn’t.

He’ll chew on small items mostly, things like bottle caps, pen caps, soda pop tabs, paper clips, etc.

The man will chew on anything bendable, and it scares the shit out of everyone, even Donnie and especially Raph and Splinter.

In fact, when the turtles were just tots Leo lost a tooth doing this, and when he showed Splinter what he did, the rat man nearly had a heart attack. And let’s just say for the rest of the day Splinter carried Leo around so he could keep an eye on him, since he was scared that the little slider would chew on something else that he wasn’t supposed to and lose yet another tooth.

Now before anyone says anything, he does have sensory chew toys a ton of them actually, and he has one on him at all times. So Leo chewing on small objects in front of everyone is because he’s a little bit of an asshole, and likes seeing the others freak out when they notice what he has, and he also enjoys the chase when they try to take it away from him.

But don’t worry, after the Krang Invasion, Leo soon gets his karma, because Casey does it too, and Leo now knows what it feels like to have the shit scared out of him when Casey out of nowhere has a bottle cap in his mouth.

He picked it up from Future Leonardo, of course.

The others both find it funny and scary when this happens. On the bright side, Casey didn’t inherent the need to run when someone confronts him about it, and will spit the item out when asked.

it's about time i officially shared my design for Clip from my hairdresser au! here's the silly boi himself!

a.k.a. the most complicated character i've ever designed...

that's my boi, despite his crazy design, i love him. his silly top knot hat, the horn-like points around his faceplate, his speckled colours, his four arms, and his funky pants. he's just soooooo fun.

Clip likes to play games and knit! he even made the patchwork pants he wears (he made Sun and Moon a pair too, but they're too precious for them to wear... also a little gaudy to wear in public—doesn't stop Clip tho!). He actually makes everything the boys wear, since there's not a lot of things in their size/shape.

instead of resting at night, he can be found in their living room, playing Kirby 64 for the nth time and/or knitting something. he's just too restless to stay still, he's always gotta be doing something and if it isn't gaming, knitting, or hairdressing, then he's up to No GoodTM.

Clip... likes popping balloons. he says "Goodnight!" with each popped balloon and once he's done, he tosses up the scraps like confetti all while giggling joyfully.

needless to say, he is not fun at parties. Sun and Moon don't let him near balloons for this reason.

and yes, he has sewing needles on hand at all times. for fashion emergencies... and for unsuspecting balloons.

Clip's not allowed to have a phone (just imagine all the in-app purchases Sun and Moon would have to deal with), but he likes to keep up with his customers and their games, even if he doesn't get their fixation over bluenets he'll never openly admit it but he prefers curly-haired blond hunks that look sweet in soft pastels but could also squash him like the spider he is

also, he's great at microbraiding! though i imagine if Sun and Moon are free, they'd come help to shorten the wait but also to compete and see who braids the most (Clip always wins of course—make anything into a game, and he's winning)

aaaaand there's this! i wanted to make sure Clip would be able to freely rotate his waist so his arms could have their full range of motion, and this was the solution i came up with: a crop top on top and a wrap around his waist. and Clip here is being a sneaky little scamp about it.

why the fuck did i write about birds this fucking sucks. i just found out birds only sleep for a few minutes at a time, hundreds of times a day. do you know what this is going to do to my structure? the logistics of their road trip? this is already like three days late and i've been fighting for my life to get A Plot Like Any Plot That Makes Sense out and now the birds fucking sleep for 5 minutes at a time.

Notes:

Speculum means 'looking glass' in Latin, and is a reference to the movie Alice Through the Looking Glass.

I couldn't think of a good mashup of words to parallel Savanaclaw, so I used Ujasiri, which is a Swahili word that translates to courage or bravery.

Enas is one and skotadi is darkness in Greek, and I combined the words to make enaskota which roughly translates to 'a darkness'. I did this to parallel Octavinelle. The octo in Octavinelle means 8 in Greek, and nelle is a name that means light with Greek, Latin, and Arabic roots (according to the naming website I found it from). Also, I wanted to name the Mermaid princess' dorm 'Dinglehopper' so bad-

Scarabia's name is a combination of the words 'Scarab' which alludes to a Golden Scarab Beetle used by Jafar to find the Cave of Wonders, and 'Arabia' the location Aladdin use as a loose foundation for its setting. So I decided to use the word 'tiger' in honor of Rajah, Jasmine's pet, and the last end of Agrabah which is the central location of the animated film Aladdin.

Bene means well in Italian, the well where water is kept. The Wis- in front of it is just the English word wish without an 'h'. This is a reference to "I'm wishing", the first song in the animated film Snow White where she sings by a wishing well. I decided to go with this mashup of words since the pome in Pomefiore is actually an English word for a fruit consisting of a fleshy enlarged receptacle and a tough central core containing the seeds, e.g. an apple, and fiore means flower in Italian.

The first part of Ignihyde may refer to ignis, the Latin word for 'fire', and '-hyde' vaguely resembles how the name Hades is spelled. So I combined 'Vi' which means strength in Latin, and the 'ules' in Hercules.

Google translate claims 'spheara' means spinning wheel in Latin, but searching up the word only brings up ball and globe so...

We’ve talked in the past about Julia’s red shirt (in her season 1/season 4 outfit) showing her sympathy towards Carmen. What about other parts of her outfits?

First, to contrast with the red shirt peeking through her dark pantsuit, we have Julia’s ACME suit.

The ACME suits, being uniforms, are all the same (the biggest difference being skirts for the women vs pants for the men), the same way the agents are asked for uniformity, conformity and following orders.

The suits have no color apart from a navy so dark it’s close to black - in fact, depending on the lighting they look almost black and white. Quite like their way of thinking.

As I noted on a previous post, at the same time Julia receives her suit and as such lets go of her red shirt, she is asked to renounce her feelings that Carmen is innocent. Season 2, where she almost exclusively wears the ACME uniform, is the one where Julia briefly doubts Carmen and struggles to reconcile following her superior’s orders with her convictions. Ultimately, when she does not manage it, she resigns (season 3) and as such goes back to her red shirt outfit. It is in that outfit that she teams up with Carmen in a substantial way in season 4.

Other agents (and, notably, agent Zari, the most featured ACME agent apart from Julia and Chase) tend to wear black gloves. In line with their behavior, this suggests keeping a distance with their environment, refusing to feel things too deeply. Julia doesn’t wear gloves, however, not even in Stockholm where the weather would definitely justify it. Despite Chief's insistance, Julia keeps paying attention to her feelings.

Then, Julia’s glasses. Her glasses in seasons 2-3 are ACME regulation eyewear : once again, they’re part of the uniform, so the same model as the other ACME agents. Big, bulky, they’re almost rectangle in shape, all sharp angles : this suggests rigidity and an absence of flexibility in ACME’s mentality. Also note the dark lenses : they symbolically obscure the vision.

And what about Julia’s original glasses, the ones she wears before joining ACME and those she returns to as she leaves ? They are the exact opposite of the ACME glasses : round and clear, what you need to look at the world as it is.

What’re your favorite kh ships?

If I'm being honest... I really only true ship SoKai these days (my forever OTP). Mainly because I feel like that's the only one I can really ever see actually being canon (well, aside from Yozora and Nameless Star, and I also ship them: a lot of that for Versus XIII reasons. My heart won't let go). And, I mean, not that a ship needs to be canon for me to ship them. Not at all. But I'll admit that I've grown out of some of the KH ships a wee bit, as I've found more adult ones in other fandoms to get invested one.

That being said, the KH ships that I do still care about are:

I've also started to warm up to Rion a wee bit... that past Shanna thought she'd never see.

VenAqua slightly, but I'd always choose Terra and Aqua over it (but one thing about the Wayfinder Trio for me, if I'm being truthful, is that I prefer the three of them as friends before any romance with any of them. Part of me even really thinks all three of them are truly just meant to be friends.)

A lot of people ship Ven and Strelitzia for some reason. And I doubt it'll ever happen, tbh. Who knows if they'll ever even really get a chance to meet and be friends. But I do get why they think it'd be cute.

And while I don't know if I truly ship them anymore, a part of me will always have a soft spot for Ventus and Naminé. Because for some reason, I really used to ship this crack pairing, back in the day.

I also don't really know if I ship them... but despite what I said above, I do get the feeling that Nomura might be doing something with Lauriam/Marluxia and Elrena/Larxene.

#i used to LOVE vanaqua and vannami. and some of my heart probably always will for that reason (mainly the former). but for the most part i #think i'm over it #i also used to ship ephemer and ava a tiny bit. but i'd pick gulava any day #i also used to get into olette pairings. but tbh. i just can't really be bothered anymore #i also used to somewhat ship ira and invi because of that comment in back cover about them having to see each other less now so the others #wouldn't get the wrong idea (because taken out of context it sounds like they're dating). or aced and invi because they reminded me (and #everyone) of terra and aqua. but i was never really serious about those to begin with and have let them go. -shrugs- #really. at the end of the day. it's sokai. forever and always: sokai #asked and answered #and really the main ones for me are sokai rokushi namiku rokunami and terqua #but mostly sokai -i say. sounding like a broken record- #and while we're mentioning everything (because somehow that's what this post turned into) i used to be big on larxel (like khii days) #but not for many--MANY--years #wait. i do like gulava a lot too. and rikai. because riku and kairi--in whatever form they're in--don't get enough love #there's also a tiny bit of me that ot3s eraqusxehanortvor. xehaqus is the otp and they're perfect together: i know and agree with this #and yet they have an interesting dynamic with vor. i feel like before dark road started they were the SLIGHTEST bit of a trio. not truly #because xehanort and eraqus still spent way more time together but it was there a little bit #and it's interesting to me that eraqus. of all people. gets annoyed at vor snooping on them some at the beginning of dark road #before the game came out if you told me something like that would have happened i would have guessed it was xehanort. but nah. it's eraqus #and xehanort moreso telling him to chill and letting vor tag along (and the eraqus thing wasn't really serious. and more in good fun #because he DOES care about her). and then they're both DEVASTATED when she dies. and vor really cared about them #also a slight ot3 with xehanorteraqusurd because despite what i just said about vor it's URD they spend the most time with in dark road and #i like their dynamic with her too. -shrugs- #vanikai a smidge back in the day

Re: the being immunocompromised and nearly dying of agony from shingles all over me at sixteen thing. I used to say that was the worst pain I've ever felt in my chronically ill life, worsened by the fact that weenie me refused morphine because I was fully indoctrinated by D.A.R.E. and terrified that I would become an addict as I lay in the hospital bed writhing in agony as I was damn-near actively dying. Even breaking my toes a few years later just warranted a mild "Fuck." in comparison.

Anyway I recently experienced three infected teeth (two wisdoms that apparently just grew in already rotted? and one cavity that got out of hand because I kept forgetting to call my dentist and couldn't afford it anyway) within a two year span and let me say that that knocked the nearly dying in agony thing right out of the park

#it had literally been a decade by that point since I ever cried in pain #the last time before that being when I had my first bowel obstruction that coincided with a migraine #I miss my tooth #not the wisdoms to hell with them. but I couldn't afford a root canal for the third tooth so it had to come out #the kicker is that as of a month ago Maryland Medicaid covers dental. again. #it used to cover dental even before that but they cancelled the coverage the year I moved to Maryland #I'm glad they are covering dental again and I have an appointment in May but I wish it had come a year earlier #because my options were between a two hundred dollar extraction or a thousand dollar root canal #teeth are a luxury in the U.S. #also when I had my wisdoms removed I went to a dental surgeon and had laughing gas #but when I had the third tooth removed I couldn't afford that again and went to my regular dentist and didn't even have valium for it #I was SHAKING in the chair trying not to freak out or faint #it was longer than it should have been too because the tooth shattered in the process and he had to dig out the roots and let me tell you #not. fun. #at least for two hundred dollars I got novocaine. If I had gone to the dental school for free they wouldn't have even given me that #cannot don't want to imagine that pain #I wish I could have kept my wisdom teeth like my roommate did when he had one years before #but the dental surgeon refused to give them to me because of pandemic protocols. I never even got to look at them #laughing gas is better than valium I think. both are great tho #I wasn't out of control loopy on laughing gas but when they were stitching up my gums I thought 'huh. hell of a time to floss my teeth' #teeth #toothache #Thou hell o' a' diseases
