How would you rate the singing voices of the ROs and Speaker? Also, how would you describe their voices? (You don't really need to include Kana in the response, but I am curious about how their voice sounds.)

Seer's voice is pretty good, a bit on the breathy side because she doesn't have much practice projecting it, but she has good pitch. Hums to herself a lot when she's sewing, and sings along with the car radio on road trips. I personally imagine her sounding a bit like Kina Grannis, but your mileage may vary.

Kana obviously has a great singing voice, partially due to being a siren but mostly because they work for it. I imagine their music sounding a lot like When Rivers Meet, especially the lead singer's voice but also blues-rock is very much Kana's favorite genre to play/sing

Azalea has a nice singing voice, soft and soothing and mostly used for singing to her garden. One of the few things she's not shy about. Speaker has probably heard it before. Most likely of all the ROs to sing you a lullaby. A bit Florence Welch-like.

Sebastian's voice is a bit on the rough side, but intentionally so. Gravelly, I guess you could call it. It suits the kind of music he likes to listen to. If I had to compare it to someone, the closest would probably be like... David Draiman?

Rory doesn't really care what they sound like. Their voice is for singing along with the radio and in the shower and that's good enough for them. Sometimes a little off-pitch, sometimes completely tone-deaf, sometimes pretty good, always enthusiastic.

No one can prove Li's singing voice exists. No one's ever heard it before.

I do have a few things in my notes about Speaker getting a choice to sing to (or with) Kana if you're on their route 👀 as for the others, I'm not sure yet, but I'll write it down and revisit the idea in the future 😉

Seer: Depends, are you the speaker and the Cain Instinct has taken over? Then feel free to fight her, she’ll give as good as she gets. Are you literally anyone else? Don’t, don’t even try because the Speaker will find out where you live, and will give you the biggest disappointed look, perhaps kick your ass

I have been reading a lot of interactive fiction lately, and “Speaker” by @speakergame has been one of my favorites! Not only does it have magic and lore and a super cute shadow dog, but it also has such a fun sibling relationship.

These are a few sketches of my Speaker, Eden, and her twin sister, a Seer named Edith. Eden is a doting younger sister who is dedicated to protecting her sister’s positivity and seems to have connections with everyone.

I had a lot of fun playing around with the outfits and little details for the twins. Also,I am already obsessed with the snarky witch boy, Liam, and his fashion and my heart totally belongs to the cool P.I., Sebastian. I know I have only known each of them for only a short amount of time...but I love them. Also, Azalea needs to be protected at all costs. Thank you.

“Hi.”

Sebastian furrows his brows, his heart fluttering. Her voice twinkles, like wind chimes tinkling in a soft summer breeze. The static on the phone slightly muffling her sweet—

He shakes his head, frowning. Now isn’t the time to focus on her voice.

“Sebastian?”

Even if he wonders how it sounds whispered in his ears.

“Sorry, something wrong?” He asks. He doesn’t know why his stomach twists; doesn’t know why he can’t stop the gnawing feeling and how his teeth grind together. She must be in trouble, but she… she doesn’t sound distressed, hurt or anything—

Sebastian stops pacing. Is he worried?

“Oh,” her laughter flitters around him, and a sigh of relief escapes him.

Thank god, she’s okay.

“No, no. I was actually just wondering if…”

There are murmurs in the background, he swears it sounds akin to Gwendolyn’s voice. He takes it back, he’s back to worrying again. Why did she call? Did something happen?

A gulp of breath.

On both their ends.

“Are you okay—” His question stops as their voices overlaps.

“—You wanted to stargaze with me?”

He doesn’t think the butterflies in his stomach has ever fluttered this much before. Doesn’t think that his smile has been this wide, granted, it wasn’t much but it seemed like a smile. More of a smile than his half-smiles.

“You don’t have to, of course, it’s only if you want to—”

“Where do I meet you?”

Incredulous laughter filters from the other end of the phone, “Wait really?”

He hums.

“Meet me at my house in 20?”

The edges of his eyes crinkle, “I’ll see you soon, Zylia.”

He fidgets. He doesn’t know if this counts as a date. He doesn’t know if he should have dressed up more, doesn’t know if his hair looks alright. Oh, he hopes he looks okay.

Some part of him really hopes this is a date. He bought her something anyways.

Sebastian remembered her choice of coffee. It doesn’t really count as coffee, since it smells really sweet and there’s probably only one drop of coffee in the drink, but he won’t fuss. Not out loud.

Wait, what if he got it wrong—

The door opens before he could even attempt to turn around.

She stands there, in front of him, and he swears he has never seen anyone so beautiful. She looks like an angel, with the edges of her brown locks turning golden in the light.

“H-hey,” Her face looks cute when it’s flushed, the dimples in her cheeks making his hands all clammy.

Her outfit looks good today. Like it always does. The slip dress could tear the evening blue sky apart, it’s pinpricks of gold like the stars that scatter the sky. He doesn’t shiver because of the cold.

Sebastian thinks it’s something else entirely.

“Goodness, why’re you guys taking so long?” A series of chuckles echo from the inside.

Zylia rolls her eyes, “Come on in.”

“I grabbed you something.” Sebastian passes her the cup of (not) coffee. He almost wants to chuckle at how adorable she looks with her eyes lit up like that. 

“Thank you,” she whispers, taking the drink. The warmth stays for a beat longer, and her face flushes as she pulls away.

He really is looking forward to tonight.

Silence sits between them as they gaze at the stars.

He doesn’t know what looks more beautiful; the girl beside him or the stars before them. A shiver runs throughout his body, as warmth brushes against his fingers.

His heart splutters. Surely—

“Look, Seb-Sebastian! It’s a shooting star!” Her smile is wide, eyes sparkling like morning dew.

“Make a wish,” he murmurs, gaze soft as he watches her lashes dip into her cheeks.

And slowly, one by one, their fingers intertwine.

His gaze stammers, eyes fixated on their now intertwined fingers.

Zylia’s hands are soft. Incredibly so, and all he wants to do is trace constellations onto her skin. A soft smile dances on her lips as she brushes her fingers across his wrist. He melts at the touch, warmth seeping into his cheeks.

The night feels special, and his heart squeezes as she leans onto his shoulder.

CONTEXT:

Basically, I wanted to participate in NaNoWriMo this year, but I didn’t want to do it for a story (because to be honest, I don’t think I’d have enough time). So! I made my own list of NaNoWriMo daily challenges/prompts (If you guys want the list, I can post it or dm me! :) ).

My target word count for each day is around 500-1000 words min.

And I recently fell in love with the @speakergame​ by Rhi Reid (and consequently, Seb and Li) so I wanted my first prompt “stargazing” to be on my character and Seb!

Hi Rhi! Hope life's been going smoothly for you!! There's always the "what D&D class would everyone be" question that goes around but I wanted to know what kind of player you think everyone would be? (i.e. who's the min maxer? Who gets super into RP? Who refuses to play, etc.)

I've already done "what DnD class everyone would be" here, and "what kind of class would they play" here, but as for what kind of player they are:

Sebastian and Rory are nerds and have definitely played before, and would be up for playing again. Kana and Azalea haven't, but are willing to try.

Li and Seer it would depend on if Speaker had played before; if Speaker has, then Seer has, and so has Li if bff/crush background. Aquaintaince!Li hasn't either way. Seer would go along with it if it's what everyone else wants to do, but if she hasn't played before she'd be a little timid at first.

Bff/crush!Li likewise would go along with it, but I think it would take a lot of convincing for aquaintance!Li to play as an adult. They just don't know any of you well enough for that yet (unless you let them DM)

But assuming you can convince them to play, Li is the kind of player that thinks outside the box. They read all the rules so they know the best way to bend them. They're the type of player to make an axe machine gun character. or ask if an enemy counts as a "location" for spells like Conjure Water or Heat Wave.

Seer loves! to play! support classes! If you ever need a cleric, or a bard, or a support wizard or tank, she's your girl. Terrible at dealing damage, but can heal from hell to breakfast. Uses spells and items in ways not necessarily intended, but for good rather than for evil like Li.

Azalea loves to RP and is fantastic at it. Her characters are always interesting and poignant and she puts a lot of effort into tying them into the world. Makes everyone cry. Takes forever on her turn in combat because there's too many damn spells and she panics a little under pressure.

Kana, on the other hand, is a bit of a murderhobo. They do enough performing in their everyday life, so in DnD they just want a big sword and something to hit with it. Except for the occasional unexpectedly heartrending RP moment.

Rory's just here for a good time. They're good at fitting into whatever kind of story the party and DM want to tell, be that hack-and-slash or theatrical-improv-plus-math. Brings a silly character to a serious campaign and a serious character to a silly campaign; somehow makes it work.

Sebastian is a Forever DM. He doesn't get to be a player very often, because he's a really good storyteller and absolutely magnetic behind the DM screen. As a player, he always tries to make characters that challenge him in some way, be that in a roleplay or tactical way. Tries to be the "lone wolf, doesn't play well in a group" guy and keeps ending up the party leader anyway.

I replayed speaker last night and there was the montage where the speaker hops In the shower and it got me wondering what temp each character showers at lmao

oooh, good question! I hadn't thought about that before, hmm...

Li takes showers as cold as they can stand. Cold water makes hair dye last longer. Bathes quickly, but still spends ages in the bathroom on hair and skin care.

Sebastian takes very long and very hot showers. Will stand under the hot water until it runs out.

Rory's shower temperature depends on what hotel they're staying at, mostly. Prefers warmer water, but not crazy hot, and takes fast showers.

Kana prefers lukewarm/room temperature water for showers, hot water for baths. Likes baths better than showers, but fine with either.

Azalea likes warm water in the winter and cool water in the summer. Prefers bubble baths over any other options.

Seer takes warm showers. Has the sibling superpower of always hopping in the shower right before you planned to, and that's why you have separate bathrooms now.

Hi ! I've been wondering for quite a while, what would the ros and Seer wear for a formal, chic event ? I've just been trying to figure it out for quite a while and I'm curious, so there's that ! Sorry about any fault, english isn't my first language, and have a really nice day/evening/night !

this is one of my favorite tropes! honestly, I've been trying to figure out a way to fit a Formal Wear Event scene somewhere in the series and have yet to find a good place to do so

Kana goes all out. They wear something that makes a statement. Sometimes a suit or tux, sometimes a ball gown, but I could really see them rocking a Billy Porter-style tuxedo dress.

I could see Li going full Victorian Goth with it. Just as dramatic as Kana, but in their own way. Bustles and corsets and tailcoats and top hats, the whole nine yards.

Azalea would be more subtle. Something Old Hollywood, maybe. Sleek and probably sequined. Real Rita Hayworth, Billie Holiday vibes.

Rory has never worn formal wear and probably isn't going to start now. They're that one kid at prom in the powder blue suit with a ruffled shirt and Converses, or even worse the person with the t-shirt with a fake tuxedo print on the front.

Sebastian goes with something simple, but classic. He owns a few tuxedos, and he looks damn good in them. You couldn't pay him enough to make him wear a tie or bowtie, though. Rolls his sleeves up to his elbows within the first half hour.

Seer loves a fluffy dress. Something with ruffles, or lace, or a really swooshy skirt. Leans toward "cute" rather than sexy, dramatic, or elegant. Always wears comfortable shoes under it.

Rory drives a blue '85 Harley-Davidson FXEF Super Glide that they rebuilt themself. they call her Beatrix

Kana drives a white 2018 BMW series 4 convertible

I haven't settled on an exact car for Sebastian yet. Something intentionally "boring" that doesn't stand out in a crowd, that has enough headroom for someone his size, and is at least 10 years old

Li can drive, but doesn't own a car. Borrows Gavin's car, if they need to go somewhere.

Azalea can't drive and doesn't own a car. If she did, she'd probably own a hybrid or electric.

Gavin owns a powder blue late-60's Chevelle, which has been mentioned in passing once or twice already. He doesn't drive very often, though, so it's kind of become the family vehicle.

Audrey drives a red Volkswagen Beetle. the new model, not the old 60's one.

Nellie drives a hatchback, either black or dark green. I haven't decided if it's a Mazda 3 or Ford Focus, but it's one of the two. has a few aftermarket upgrades

Luke, Mama, Henry, Ana, and Casey all borrow Gav's car instead of owning one of their own.

Mal can drive, but hates doing it, and doesn't own a car.

Anya is 7. Owns a Hot Wheels version of her dad's car
