a: if you met them both when they were first meeting, they probably wouldn't notice you until a little while after they first start talking to each other.. it would probably be more of like. noticing you watching them from across the room or something and assuming you wanted to join in

b: if you met both/either of them as kids, they... probably wouldn't remember you when they got older LMAO, at least, not very well.. they'd probably recognize you if they saw you again but not really remember where they recognize you from, kinda like if those "oddly familiar places" images were a person

tried to draw some of the ideas you had :3c this one above is a drawing of Mine i did before. it’s inspired by her mc skin which is very pink, i think that’s one of the ways you’d be able to tell when she’s possessing mike because his skin will turn pink like hers and one of his pupils will also change to look like a flower/star!!

i think because for a while kari was faceless she wouldn’t have a very distinct face as a goddess? or like it’s always changing so she never looks the same because she’s like “impossible” so it’s always changing but the one thing that’s the same about her is her colors (lots of red and yellows) and that she has very intricate braiding in her hair. i also think she has like a billion hands. they don’t have to be connected to her but sort of like a biblically accurate angel she has a billion hands sort of floating around her at all times lol

YEES I LOVE FICTIONAL RELIGION/GODS THEYRE SUPER FUN TO THINK ABOUT!! on another server i liked they made Prime a god (like Prime subs on Twitch) because one of the members said it so much which i thought was really fun. Prime was like the common god/religion on that server

anyways cellbits discord!! i think it would be cool if it was like shadows? just like darkness that surrounds someone but if yiu look and listen closely enough you can hear a billion different voices and eyes watching you, especially if you’re doing puzzles then it’s way easier to spot them. they’re not able to take on many forms because there’s just so many of them as one “being” so unless they can all agree they stay as just shadows.

nah but fr i have literally been waiting for like 7 years for someone to ask me this. ever since i was online regularly i have had "eat bees" somewhere on most of my accounts. it's my discord status, on my mfc account, like everything!!

so waaay back when in the distant time of the 2010s little pre teen rena was on instagram looking at some of the most unbearable content imaginable to man. that's when she stumbled upon a particularly funny post. it was a tumblr screenshot, of course at the time i wasn't familiar with tumblr or just websites in general so i had no idea but the post just kinda stuck with me.

i was a big fan of LOL RANDOM XDDDD type humor so maybe that's why i enjoyed it so much but i guess i never really grew out of it. for the longest time whenever my parents or friends would ask about it i would refuse to explain or say something vague like "i dunno, just kinda funny". i think i was embarrassed by how much i liked this post.

Hi, sorry to bother you but I had an idea for an AU where Varian is studying an artifact called the 'Silver Wing' yes I took that from Pokemon, no I am not ashamed. The premise is basically after spending weeks trying to understand the artifact and decipher the scrolls left about it. Turns out it chooses a holder and works in the ways the sundrop and moonstone do by kind of staying inside the heart of the user.

After a very selfless act on Varian's part (rescuing Rapunzel from falling from the balcony, I dunno if you've seen a Silent Voice but its kind of like that scene. He manages to pull her up only to fall himself and in the moment the artifact reacts and brings him back up to the tower safely in what appears to be a gust of wind blowing around him) However after the initial excitement he finds the Silver Wing has disappeared and, you guessed it. It's part of him now. However he starts to notice he has some upper back problems (I'm honestly just deflecting at this point) and after some hours he ends up sprouting some wings. He's super freaked and that's all I got.

I used to roleplay a lot, and have so many ideas, but the rp crowd has kind of died and you are kind of my favorite author. So I was hoping for maybe a little advise? Or if you know an author who co-writes things?

Hey hey! Nah man I’m always down for a chat!

That sounds like a really fun idea for an au! I love a good wing fic, the concept is SO interesting! The big reveal of the flight powers especially sounds really awesome, I live for “oh my god WHAT” moments in fics!! With wings too it’s so easy to hop onto things like preening as a social bonding thing, or other bird things. There’s a lot of possibilities! Imagine rapunzel's FACE lol

As for advice, the best I really have for finding RP partners and co-authors is to join some of the online fan communities! I found my co-writer Iza (for Cor Meum) on a varigo server, and same with basically all my online friends in different communities! Discord is a great place to start, so is tumblr, but I personally like to drop into places with lots of people since it’s easy to slip in and out of conversations as they go along without getting overwhelmed. Kinda suss out the vibe before jumping in, you know? Your results may vary of course, depending on your personal comfort zones.

Though I’m not active on any public servers anymore I’m sure they’re out there! Once you narrow down the general masses and find the really devoted fans I’m sure you could find a RP partner or even a group! Same with a co-writer, I find that ramble channels are great to see whose ideas you might vibe with–that’s how I found a couple of my friends! I'm pretty solitary by nature lol, my hobby is sitting alone on a computer, after all hehe

That or sometimes the most fun thing is to write your ideas yourself! To each their own lol. I find that writing out my ideas in a point form outline really helps me get the idea out of my head and into something more tangible–and then once it’s there I can start shuffling around for pacing and ebb and flow and etc etc, taking it from concept to proper outline, and then once all that’s done the writing is easy lmao. You just follow the road map! I find that looking into things like Campbell's hero's journey, the Save the Cat beat sheet, and the like really help while prepping an outline for a good, cohesive story.

ANYWAYS I’ll stop rambling! Thank you so much for the kind words of love!! I’m honored to be your favorite author!! I hope you’re doing good, man! 💕💕

Bro i keep feeling like cause i just complain so much that no one likes to hear me complain???? Like imagine having ppl not respond to u with smth like “damn that sucks” or etc.

Like ofc i dont get like this all the time cause i know sometimes i need to write my thoughts out somewhere, but it do feel like smth when a few doesn’t rly respond to my rants or some shit but will respond to other ppl. And i just…. Am i rly that bad…???

I kinda wish ppl will tell me that if i am BUT then again, it’s just putting pressure on ppl for telling me what’s right and what’s wrong which is mean and cruel of me. Despite the fact that, I’m not rly forcing them to tell me but more like “please don’t hold ur words back and rly let me have it” if like ya know? They WANT to say something but is afraid to.

But then again, i had this issue with my old friend group of irls many years ago so honestly? I should expect not to get a response or smth. Like i expect a response but i guess i just… dunno what kinda response i want? Like do i want ppl to let me know they read it? Do i want an opinion or advice on it? Or do i want them to like coddle me for a bit and let me know they care? Do i want them to agree with me?? Like i just dunno. I respond to ppl when they vent all the time because i feel like i should say smth since lol i get ignored a lot.

Literally no one want to listen to me talk irl when i get like this??? My whole family is kind of dismissive towards me about it. Like damn sorry for complaining so much i guess?? I totally get it if ppl just can’t rly help me and they know it, but sometimes the way ppl respond by saying nothing or responding curtly/abruptly, i just feel like u don’t want to listen to me and want me to shut up. Like man i’m not going to MAKE y’all participate in actively shittalking ppl with me cause i GET IT, but sometimes the way ppl respond rly feels like “i disagree with u and want to say u’re wrong but out of politeness and the facts laid out before me, i can’t say that.” Like… you can just say u dont like me and wanna take someone else’s side???

Like idk maybe i’m just reading too much into it cause it causes my rad to flare up really bad. I dont wanna force ppl TO listen to me when they can’t or don’t want to?? Like i’m not that rude but the way ppl sorta just get distracted irl makes me rly like upset cause bro… i asked if i can talk to u and THIS is the response and attention u’re giving me? Bruh just say u dont like listening to me. I have to out all my shit down if i’m listening to you, i demand the same respect back. I dont grill ppl that much on it if it’s online tho.

Like ya kno? It’s online u got ur own life and shit like that. So i get that much. It’ll sting but not that much.

I keep thinking that maybe its just the hole left in me cause my exfriend was shit but at this point… i guess i just. Can’t find anyone who rly did fill the role my exfriend left behind. I do commend him for being able to work with me to get along with me, despite how he eventually threw me aside after a while.

Either i expect everyone to treat me like how i treat them, very literally, or maybe i just have some things that i can’t really overlook when it comes to how i want people treat me. Like i dont think my requirements are ungodly high, but i guess it’s the little things that set me off.

Oh well. I feel like i’m being a nuisance anyways so i’m just going to not talk and actively participate in social media for a bit. Like i’m around alright cause ppl need to be able to reach me for anything, but. Yeah.

I dont want to think of myself as someone who just complains a lot cause i dont but i do complain about things when it overwhelms me emotionally. Like i dont gripe about my pet peeves that often but i WILL complain about stuff i think is like emotionally overwhelming to me like if i get hurt or treated unfairly. And those are things i vent about a lot in retrospect.

It’s all temporary but i think it’s harder for me to pet go of something i don’t rly understand and hurt me deeply as a result. Like it just takes longer which sucks.

Maybe i’m just burnt out from trying to be okay lately. I’ve been depressed after all. Maybe i’m just. Tired or smth. Idk. I just dunno what i should be doing.

Just feeling like a blob of hurt… Like i know that just leaving won’t get ppl to dm me or anything and ask if i’m doing alright. Even irl, i dont think ppl really realize if i’m doing alright cause i don’t rly show it and i don’t rly like to say i’m not doing okay.

I'm still living in Frontlines... what day are we on now? I've lost count 🫠. The event began on the 27th of August... *attempts to count* 😴💤

Last blog update I mentioned wanting to learn some more classes. I did manage to add SCH and DNC to my list of "I can play this rather well". I've keyed a few others but can I play them? Ehhh.... 🙃 yet to try.

I told my friend this 👆🏻, that I "keyed them" and he was like "wait what?". Had to tell him that It means 'I put the skills onto my bar', what else would it mean? lol. Maybe things that I think are 'obvious' are actually not that obvious.

So, I already play BRD, RDM, SMN, WHM, and MNK on the norm.

Wanted to learn a tank like GNB. Tried playing DRK a while back but I feel like I was plunge-happy and that just did not go well at all, lol. Think I've developed a bit of PTSD from it. Not just that, but there's high expectations with it because it's the new 'meta', oh boy 🙄. DRK + DRG combo, or DRK + SMN. Basically anything DRK + some class that has AoE LB = win *sigh*. Why so broken SE 😶

I get it, I get it. To balance FL, it borks CC. Then to tone down one class here, you have to tone down others, and then they all bork, and it just becomes an endless loop. Not as easy as one would think... whelp, rip.

Also don't mark meeeee. I hate thattttt. I don't need a giant bullseye calling attention to me 🎯. If I wanted one I'd give it to myself, adkjaksdj.

But yeah, me trying to 'learn' it, while it being meta, not knowing what the heck I'm doing (i.e. being suicidal)... I just feel like that's not gonna go any better than the first time, LOL. Think I'll have better luck learning GNB atm.

I'm just the pushy- finds an opportunity- and rushes in type 🤷🏻‍♀️. Seems like my team doesn't always follow suit and it gets me in trouble a lot 😅. I need to learn to gauge that better. I'm also the overprotective of my teammates type, and it's gotten me killed numerous times 💀 (going back to try and help/rescue a teammate or something - happens on all classes, not just on tank)

Imagine this, when learning a class: Marking a player trying to learn DRK, they're plunge-happy like myself because I dunno what the heck I'm doing but I'm trying to learn what to do and what NOT to do (as I said before, suicidal). But because I have this stupid marker over my head, people are following me around and watching me die repeatedly as I get my bearings. I'm looking like an idiot, I already have social anxiety. I'm just not going to want to play this ever again due to this horrid experience. Or, I'm going to need time to recover (which is where I'm at now).

You learn more from your failures, you still learn from your successes, but it's a learning curve. I'm only going to learn by doing. Using my skills in an actual match, with people and against other people. I can't just go swing at a training dummy and figure things out. GNB is actually a great example of this as one of their skills is reactive to DPS/Healer/Tank. A training dummy cannot replicate that. With that being said, don't effing mark me! 💢. It should be an opt in, not opt out!

"Oh well, Teku, why don't you just speak up and ask them to unmark you?" Because as much as the FFXIV community prides itself as being open & friendly, when it comes to PvP it can get rather sour & salty 😐 and it's not that simple. People get snarky & sassy and say all sorts of ridiculous things back at you that basically end with the result of you still being marked. Or they straight up ignore you. "You don't pay my sub!" - sound familiar? I usually don't let whatever negative things that happen in a frontline get to me, because that's silly. It's just a game within a game, technically, lol. No need to be bitter. But let a person learn, chill out, it's not the end of the world, geebus.

My friend belongs to several Linkshells and Discords for Frontlines and he consistently shows me conversations and games he's in, also premades, and it's just... mindblowing... the things that are said. Some people take this stuff so seriously. It's as if they forget that once upon a time they too were once a sprout. They too, once upon a time, started somewhere and were new, and didn't know which buttons to hit in what order. To learn to prioritize objectives over kills. Not to tunnel vision the battle over the point board because the end of the game can easily sneak up on you. Like... why are people like this? So inconsiderate and just total jerkfaces, I don't get it.

But now they have this elitist attitude and they refuse to play in Daily Roulette or Duty Finder. They'll only queue in groups with premades of meta such as DRK + DRG, etc. Like wow, that's actually sad, I'm sorry. I get it if you want to play with friends, but it seems more like they want a free pass winstreak and to be carried. To each their own I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️ (not saying everyone in these CWLS/LS/Discords are like this or have this mentality, just the people in these convo's I've seen)

And if you think I'm QQ'ing (term for whining & crying) because I'm the one who is bad at playing in Frontlines, I beg to differ. I have screenshots of the end of every Frontline match I've played- out of force of habit from previous FPS games (the end board thing with names and stats). I'm usually (not always) within the top five for 'Damage Dealt' when I'm on DPS or SCH, or top five in 'HP Restored' as Healer. I admit I have some bad games but they're not the majority.

Thing is, I don't nerd rage at my team if we're scattered or split (you'd be surprised at how often I see this happen tbh). Would you like some food with your salt? Nor do I flip tables if we lose a game and my win:lose, 1st:2nd:3rd, ratio takes a hit. It's a Frontlines match, things are gonna happen 🤷🏻‍♀️. I'm just one person, I don't have control over 72 people. Occasionally I'll do callouts, throw a flag into chat, and use markers on enemy targets, but even then, the 24 people on my team are not all going to listen to me the entire duration of the game. Most of them aren't even reading chat or have their maps open.

And then there's cases where people other than the person making callouts, have better calls, and they confuse the entire team.

SE gimme a SERIOUS and TRUE PvP mentor crown/title and I might take it more seriously, I've already got the macros made 😉. I know it's in game currently under PvE but it comes with nothing. Like actually nothing. Probably because SE considers the rewards from Wolf Marks, Wolf Collars, Trophy Crystals, Current Achievements, Series Rewards, and whatever else I missed, to be enough? I don't know. But everyone knows PvP Mentor is basically hollow, fake and for show. It's not a real thing. I guess it's more real than Crafting Mentor but ehh... different topic.

Yes, I'm aware adding a 'real' PvP mentor wont fix the aforementioned problem of people not listening, or not reading chat/looking at the map, lol. I still want to talk about it though.

Make it separate with real achievement rewards and the like. I think a lot more people would take it more seriously tbh. As in... actually try PvP in general, not afk in FL, not alt+F4 out anymore, there's another one I wont say.

Right now 'leading' i.e. 'giving suggestion' in Frontlines because we technically cannot direct gameplay in any way, shape, or form- that's against ToS *cough*... I'm just... 'when the mood strikes' with it. It's not my job so why treat it like it is? I know that's a terrible mentality but, Frontlines has me burnt out guys. I used to play a lot of NIN before the major PvP rework and haven't bothered re-trying it since. I should try giving that a go again. A genuine try, not just one game 😅. I recall dreaming I was in FL as NIN using LB repeatedly. (Yes this is how bad it is, this is what its come to! The game has seeped into my dreams!)

I tried SAM once and it felt weird because I main BRD like 90% of the time and SAM has casts. I don't know how else to explain it to people but when you're used to playing a class that can walk while using their skills- free range mobility- and then shift to a class that has to stay absolutely still for nearly all of their skills, it's awkward as heck. The day I tried, I kept inadvertently moving and interrupting my casts and I was like AKSDJKAL!! 😠💢

Needless to say, I didn't try SAM again. Also I don't know why I don't have this issue when I play RDM or WHM or other cast classes, it was only with SAM. Might just be a mentality/awareness issue. As if, melee = shouldn't have casts, or something? I should give it another shot. Also, I'm not suggesting SE should take away SAMs casts or anything, they're too OP as it is~, I have a love-hate relationship with SAMs when it comes to FLs 😅

I've learned the RPR rotation but apparently it sucks terribly in Frontlines, yet it's great in Crystalline Conflict. Issue here is I don't play CC, I play FL so..... 🤷🏻‍♀️

I know I'm leaving several classes out, like SGE, DRG and MCH, etc. There's just so many.

I only have a bit more FL farming left to do and then I'll be done, thank gods. I have way too many alts- but it's not just that. It's because it's the 10th anniversary and there's so many goodies on the Moogles this time around. There's so much I want to get 😄 That's not a bad thing honestly, this time frame is just way too short.

We're being given one month and one week or something? Maybe just the one month. I'm not sure, don't quote me, lol. All I know is it says Until Patch 6.5 and that is "Early October" 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh yeah, I wanted to add some 'pointers'. Uhhh... just some things I've learned over time and recently.

On SCH; try not to/don't, Bio + Deployment Tactics combo on a DRG cause they'll likely use their LB and poof, there goes your charge. I guess Adlo + Deployment Tactics also but it happens moreso with the enemy in my case.

On WHM; avoid using/use at your own discretion- Seraph Strike on a SAM. It's like jumping into the arms of Death ☠️.

This could probably be said for other classes with a charge-in ability but I've only experienced "fly to my death" with this on WHM 🥲. What's that phrase... "Fool me once, shame on You; Fool me twice, shame on Me".

Definitely not falling for that again... 😐

On BRD; Save your silence for the squishy casters, like Healers, SMNs and BLMs. I would think this one is a given but I don't see many other BRDs do this for some reason... 🤷🏻‍♀️? Your team will pick up the hint and that silenced player is gonna drop like a fly 90% of the time.

👆🏻 Don't do the same thing with the RDM skill Resolution. If you have White Shift on, you can try to aim it at a Healer, SMN, or BLM, but I wouldn't waste holding onto it as it's valuable DPS you're essentially losing by not using it.

I personally do a mix of both as RDM- use both White Shift & Black Shift. Basic rundown is, Black Shift is good for dealing more damage, and White Shift is good for protecting the group.

When in White Shift I aim it at squishy targets and also in crowded areas. Imo it's intuitive, as is all RDM gameplay. I'm a RDM main, what can I say 💖. Example might be I see a lot of DRK + DRG so I use White Shift a lot for the barrier. Another might be I see a lot of SCH + Casters, so I run Black Shift for the extra damage. Etc, etc. Just have to figure out the in-betweens from there.

I'm not trying to write out a guide, if I was this could go on forever lol. These are just the not so obvious things I guess? I can't think of anymore atm but I'll try to add to this if they come to mind. Feel free to add to the comments if you can think of any. I don't bite 😇

(We discussed this a lot in the discord, so props to the gang for this. A group effort, it was. Here are my musings about that Hocus Pocus AU. Tagging @ihni and @pondermoniums just uh,,, cuz y’all were interested in this kinda thing 👀)

So obviously Billy is Max and Max is Dani (lol). Like, obviously.

And they’ve moved and Billy is just over it because this town is boring, these people are boring, and who takes Halloween this seriously anymore besides fucking nerds and kids? A whole town being into it? Like, what fucking even.

And witches??? Really??? Fucking please. Billy knows there’s no such thing. Knows that these people are just whirled up in some sort of town wide fantasy. And he definitely says as much. Gets in trouble for it, too. But, it does get someone to notice him.

The only thing Billy’s even remotely enjoyed in this town is Steve Harrington. Rich prep boy with really soft looking hair and big eyes that Billy just wants to stare into for ages and long fingers and that pale skin. Steve is snickering as Billy gets his talking to, rolling his eyes with a smile when Billy shoots him a wink.

Billy leaves on Halloween ready to hole up at home and ignore everyone and everything, especially his annoying brat of a sister. Of course, on the way home, he runs into Tommy and Adam. (Tommy is ICE, I don’t make the rules.) And they’re all Hey, California, nice jacket/earring/etc. Billy barely entertains it, considers popping Tommy in the jaw, but instead he just skates home. Goes up to his room and flops onto the bed.

“Steve,” he murmurs. “Steve Harrington with the delicious peach.” Billy sighs, dragging his hands over his face. “And what a peach…”

“Boo!” Max jumps outta his closet and Billy jack knifes on the bed before jerking up, red faced.

“MAX! I told you not to come in my fucking room!”

“Yeah, whatever. Mom said you have to take me trick or treating.” Billy scoffs.

“No fucking way.”

“She’s going to a party hosted by the mayor--”

“Don’t care--”

“--And she doesn’t want me to go alone, even though I could--”

“Still don’t care--”

“--And I need someone to carry my haul--”

“How is this my problem?” And Max snaps her mouth shut, glaring, before opening her mouth and,

“MOM!”

(Susan moved Billy and Max here to get away from Neil and that’s that on that mmkay)

Needless to say, Billy has a hoodie under his jacket with the hood pulled up because he cannot be seen carting his sister around to trick or treat. How lame. Gets shit from Tommy and Adam, who try to steal Max’s candy, but get a broom to the crotch. Max ain’t playing around, and while she doesn’t need Billy to protect her, he kinda can’t help it. Pops one of ‘em in the eye and bolts, Max cackling as she follows him. And they keep on going, Billy’s hood down now at least, before getting to this massive house with a party. And Max knocks and Billy stands behind her, staring off, when suddenly,

“Well, if it isn’t Mr. I-Hate-Halloween.” And Billy’s head whips around and Steve is there in some fancy ass Victorian garb all ruffles and coiffed hair and tight fucking breeches--

“Harrington, right?” Cuz Billy’s gotta play it casual. Gotta be cool. And Max raises a brow, smirking, as Steve hands her a lollipop and stands there, biting his lip before asking,

“Wanna come in for a bit? This party is fucking boring.” And Billy isn’t gonna look a gift horse in the mouth. Max frowns.

“But--”

“I’ll let you take as much candy as you want,” Steve offers, face only lightly flushed. Max shoots in the house, grabbing fistfuls from the frankly enormous bowl of candy. Billy steps in, hands in his pockets. He looks around giving a low whistle.

“Well well, Harrington,” Billy says. “Fancy ass home you’ve got here.”

“I mean-- It’s my parents’ place. Technically.” Steve scratches his nose and Max comes over. “That’s a pretty dope witch costume.”

“Thanks,” she replies. “I like yours. Billy likes, now wait,” she hums, licking the lollipop, “What did you call it? His peach?” And Billy goes red, hissing,

“Maxine!” Whilst Steve is confused as hell. Max presses on.

“Billy really likes--”

“So, you all really believe in the Sanderson sisters?” Billy says, loud and over Max, who kicks him in the shin while he shoves at her to move away. Steve just kinda… goes with the flow of these two.

“I mean, yeah. I’ve been to the museum loads of times, and that book of spells is legitimately the creepiest thing I’ve ever seen.” Steve shuffles a little, glances into the ballroom, before seemingly making up his mind. “You wanna go?” Billy raises a brow.

“You thinking about breaking in, pretty boy?” His tongue pokes from between his teeth as he grins, ignoring Max rolling her eyes.

“Is it breaking in if I have a key?” Steve smirks. “My parents technically own it, so…” He shrugs and Billy smiles so he doesn’t do something stupid like say something mushy in front of Max.

“Well, grab that key then, Richie Rich.” And Steve grumbles it’s my parents’ money, jeez before going upstairs.

“I’ll be back in a jiffy.” And once he disappears Max elbows Billy in the gut.

“What the hell, shithead?” Billy hisses.

“You’re so fucking obvious,” she says with a grin. “Pretty boy? Like, come on.” And Billy ignores her, thank you.

So they go, and Billy and Steve are flirting almost obnoxiously, and Max is so over it, but when they get to the house, they all kinda feel the weird energy. Billy of course, keeps trying to play it off. Keeps being a little shit. Asks if he should light the candle.

“Come on,” he leers. “Not like anything’ll happen.”

“I dunno,” Steve replies, biting his lip.

“You’re so gonna summon them, Billy. You’re a virgin.” And wow Max, no need to call him out like that. And Billy goes red before flicking open his zippo and lighting the candle.

Which. Bad idea.

(Now, you can imagine the sisters the same, or as Joyce (Winnie), Karen (Sarah), and Claudia (Mary). Which ever speaks the most to you. Cuz then Zombie Billy could be Hopper. Or Bob if you want I suppose. I’m going with keeping them the same for now cuz I’m a lazy bastard.

Thackery and Emily are Jonathan and Will, I don’t make the rules.)

ANYWAY

The rest pretty much goes the same, with a lot more teasing between Steve and Billy. And Max being so over these boys. Jonathan is too, honestly, and he’s constantly swiping at Billy to get him to stop being an asshole. Steve thinks it’s cute. Billy does not.

No one listens to Billy cuz, well, he looks like a delinquent whose gonna make jokes. Steve’s parents ignore him, and everyone knows it, so obviously he’s probably doing it for attention. And well, Susan is having fun getting to know a lovely and kind man at the party (maybe this is Bob), so she’s just a lil’ distracted.

When they get to the graveyard, and Sarah tries to flirt with Billy, tries to coerce him into giving them his life force, Steve chucks some rocks, furious and jealous, like the brat he is. Says,

“You’re barking up the wrong tree, Witch Bitch!” And Billy’s already infatuated, but now he’s in love. Steve’s got that spark, that fire, and Billy kinda maybe likes a guy who can hold his own. Billy deals with Winnie, Steve and Max deal with the other two.

At the end, once Zombie Billy’s back in his grave, the witches are gone, kaput, and Jonathan has reunited with will, Steve, Billy, and Max find themselves on a bench, exhausted. And Max maybe says,

“I’m ready to go home. Steve, wanna come for breakfast?” And well, it’s not like his parents are gonna be up anytime soon, or will notice him being gone at all, so he says yes. “Awesome. Billy makes really good pancakes. Plus, even though we don’t have a guest room, I’m sure Billy will let you take his bed.”

“Maxine!”

Or well,,,, something like that.

Trapped or Stranded

I’m here for this trope, but I’m only moderately enthusiastic, and I think that’s because it removes Peter and Tony from the context of society. And the societal context of their relationship is something I’m really into. That hyper-awareness of what it looks like from the outside. “How obvious is it I’m in love with him? How obvious is it I want to touch him? Am I hiding it well enough? People would be disgusted if they could see what’s in my head.” All that kind of stuff.

So truth be told, when I think about stranded fics, I mostly think about the theoretical second half of the fic, where they make it back to civilization, and instead of a happy ending, everything just gets angstier and more complicated. Because they got used to being a certain way with each other when they were alone and completely reliant on each other, and now suddenly they’re not alone anymore, and they have to try to go back to how things were before—but it all feels intensely wrong now, like something is being ripped away from them. And also maybe they’re a bit traumatized from whatever they went through while stranded, so they need to take comfort in each other now more than ever, but they feel like they can’t. Basically, yes, all the angst please. Just keep adding angst. I’ll take my angst on the rocks, if you can do it. 🥃😲

Fucking By Proxy

I love this trope when it’s done just right. However, I will borrow part of @learned-foot’s answer and say that I’m very monoshippy, so this trope can go wrong pretty easily for me. I have two basic tenets for this trope that determine whether I’m going to like it.

1. Neither Peter nor Tony can be genuinely attracted to the proxy. The narrative has to be clear on the fact that, secretly, they both just want each other.

2. If it’s Peter’s first time, the proxy can’t fuck Peter. 🍆🚫

Shout-out to Proxy by @cagestark, which is delightful, and is kind of the quintessential Starker fucking by proxy fic.

Wings

I’m not opposed to wingfic, but it doesn’t really have any immediate appeal for me, either. I liked wingfic when I was in the Sherlock fandom, but to me, giving the Avengers wings is just...kind of gilding the lily? Like, they already have superpowers, and some of them are already magic. Giving them wings doesn’t make them any more special or interesting, it just feels like one more sort of discordant fantastical element in a story that’s already full of crazy, wild elements. But that’s just me.

A/B/O

Oh boy, okay, so I have a lot of feelings about ABO. A LOT of feelings. Those feelings range from “Kill it with fire” all the way to “This is the only thing I want to fantasize about for the rest of my life.”

Things about ABO I love include heat!sex, knots, self-lubricating butts, all the best parts of size-kink and none of the buzzkill aspects—and sometimes mpreg.

OTOH, noncon and abusive ship dynamics are big squicks for me. Also, gender essentialism makes me intensely ragey. So that’s where the “kill it with fire” feelings sometimes come in—because obviously those elements can be pretty significant aspects of ABO.

I have read a ton of ABO, though, and generally my positive feelings about it very much outweigh my negative feelings about it. For all that I’ve been profoundly squicked out by ABO on twenty separate occasions, I’ve also…uh, very much enjoyed ABO on many, many occasions. Lol. And since I’m here talking about ABO anyway...

The Much Abbreviated Version of My ABO Headcanon That Absolutely No One Asked For (warning for Mpreg):

I, uh…may have a wildly self-indulgent four-thousand word ABO “imagine” in my Starker folder, in which Peter and Tony get stuck in the lab on lockdown, and Peter goes into an early heat (probably due to spending so much time with the virile alpha he desperately wants to fuck him). They try really hard to control themselves but for ~some reason~ Peter’s pheromones are flying particularly fast and thick for that heat, and they end up fucking wildly.

Afterwards Tony guilt-spirals and holds Peter at arm’s length for weeks. Then Peter goes off to MIT and doesn’t realize he’s pregnant for five months because lol male Omegas don’t get pregnant—except surprise! Male spider Omegas apparently do!

As the months pass, Peter and Tony feel increasingly run-down, on-edge, and desperate to be around each other. It’s some kind of “parenthood drive” that expecting A/O pairs have. But they can’t be around each other because Peter is going to MIT, and also because Tony doesn’t trust himself to be alone with Peter anymore.

Eventually the pieces click into place in Peter’s mind that, as crazy as it is, he might be knocked up. He panics and hides the pregnancy, because Mr Stark can’t know; he’ll feel responsible and it’ll ruin his life and it’ll ruin the relationship they’ve slowly managed to put back together after what happened during the lab lock-down that summer. Plus, it’s not like he can just go to a hospital. What’s he gonna do, be like, “Hey, I’m a guy but I think I might be knocked up, also I’m Spider-Man, please don’t tell anyone”? (Peter has a retroverted uterus and really strong abs, so he doesn’t show very much. He wears sweaters constantly. Just go with it.) Whump, angst, angst, whump. Peter is really not okay by this point; Tony’s not doing so hot either. A/O biology really, really does not approve of Alphas and Omegas spending almost an entire pregnancy apart. More whump. More angst. (But also Peter still being strong and resilient despite everything.)

And then, possibly, Peter goes into labor six weeks early and gives birth quite suddenly on a jet. Because lol, why not. It also may or may not be a complete surprise to everyone on said jet who is not Peter. And also a little bit of a surprise to Peter, because, like, he’s only ever had sex the one time, in heat or otherwise, and 32 weeks is not nine months, so this really should not be happening now, he thought he had time, wtf wtf wtf.

Also, in the end, Pepper (who hasn’t been with Tony for years) adopts the baby, because she wants a child and has had difficulty conceiving. And because Peter very much isn’t ready to be a parent, and isn’t even sure if he wants to be. And Tony is very, very okay with that. He may be almost fifty but he’s not ready to suddenly be a parent either—even though he loves Peter and he would love their baby if keeping it was what Peter wanted.

It is the iddiest fic of all the fics, and very much not on-brand for me, but wow I want it, don’t judge me. 👀

(Also, obviously, someone who likes kidfic more than I do could have them keep the baby. I just have a personal thing where I’m 1. not very into kidfic, and 2. squicked by “unplanned parenthood” story lines.)

I think one or two of the reviews I read of this anime picked up the names of each episode are based on movies and it seems they’re right. Namely, episode 1 is Se7en while episode 2 is Reservoir Dogs...so they’re crime movies specifically.

Kanto, Hikari etc. are the names of certain shinkansen.

LOL, instead of yokudekimashita (literally, “you did good”) it’s makura ni narimashita (“you made [the book] into a pillow”). The common sentence ending for verbs means it’s funnier in Japanese, I think.

From here until episode 6-ish, I’ll be paying extra attention to characters’ role language. I normally do that, but I picked this anime for an assignment because I knew it had a lot of examples…yes, you heard me right. An assignment! I should be happy, but I’m wondering if my taste is going to get roasted by the normies or if I’ve gone too far with my unabashed love…

I was discussing with some of my peeps in a Discord server and…is it possible MTR will get an ED from here on out if you divide the episodes up for an almost equal amount for each division? We’ll have to wait and see.

Wait, why not translate wakagashira? It just means “young head” or “2nd in command”.

…well, at least they got some variation in their swearing this time…?

Hmm, normally the translation is “rabbit cop” or something toned down like that. They dialled it up to “rabbity-ass cop”. (Yakuwarigo: Samatoki = na, on the whole = very, very slang – as a former naval officer, you would expect Riou to speak formally, but he speaks as casually as almost everyone else (yamero etc.))

I’ve never seen anyone refer to Samatoki as “Kashira”. *laser stares Rentei for guest VA roles*

It took me several watches to realise who’d passed by, but it’s…MTC in formal clothes?! (You can see part of Jyuto’s face, just to confirm it.)

Why are they wearing glasses? Even Jyuto’s wearing different glasses to the usual, LOL.

I learnt how to do some of the casino stuff while trying to get a job as a gaming customer service assistant in a huge casino joint one time. In a sense, this brings me back to then. (Update: I mean, the sound of the roulette, the sight of the board, the chips and the like. That’s what takes me back.)

(Yakuwarigo: Dice slurs his words a lot, especially when yelling things along the lines of “Please lend me moneyyyyyyyyyyyyy!” This is also true in the game.)

Dice seems to have jumped straight to “Riou”, rather than “Riou-san”.

I wonder if anyone will ever elaborate on that incident where Dice and Riou met?

(Yakuwarigo: Samatoki speaks coarsely, but not outright swearing in the source language…for an example, he says kussotare when roped into being Jakurai’s “female counterpart” for the ARB Halloween event, but he doesn’t do anything of the sort here.)

Even Ramuda uses “san” with Samatoki, most likely to emulate how Samatoki calls himself “oresama” (but with lower formality).

Ramuda-chin? That’s new.

Yakuwarigo: Gentaro spoke normally, just with desu/masu. Maybe the “perchance” was to make it blend in with his -de aru?

Uh-oh…Ramuda’s favours always are things like “dress up for me” and “hang out with me”, if the game is any indication. (One of them happens to be how Ichiro was roped into being a sorta-Kirito for the ARB Halloween event.)

This CGI…it’s not the jankiest, but it is gonna bug me ever so slightly.

I’ve noticed a lot of people in the English-speaking fandom, when they watched the anime, took a shine to MTC (because they seem to embody the entire “refuge in audacity” thing they’ve picked up on…plus that one hamster lyric people got attached to). You can see them being all “cop/gangster husbands” here if that’s your gig – it’s kind of my gig, but to be real HypMic is not a scene where I ship dudes. I’m sorry, but I just like watching pretty boys kick butt.

What warranted the dramatic glasses drop…? (LOL anyway)

That whistle…LOL. It’s like “Look at my boy fight” and “Riou’s got some sweet fightin’ moves” rolled up in one.

For some reason, when I saw the sign for the Organised Crime department, I heard the Student Council theme from Boueibu play in my head…? (Remember that harpsichord theme?) *shrugs* I dunno why that happened.

Hmm…they crossed out the subtitles using Swedish letters instead of strikethrough, huh? Didn’t know that was a limitation.

“Wouldya look at that forlorn mug of his?” – Seeing a man taller than you (Riou is a good 190 or so cm, mind you, making him the tallest member of his division above Samatoki’s 180-something and Jyuto’s 170-something) making a sort of demented puppy-dog face…LOL.

(Yakuwarigo: Jyuto elevated himself to kimasuyo…maybe to win back Riou’s favour?)

(Yakuwarigo: The translation elevated Samatoki’s “nanda” to “the f***”. “Nanda” is not that bad – it’s casual, but doesn’t imply swearing like “ittai” is supposed to mean “the hell”.)

(Yakuwarigo: Jyuto doesn’t finish when he says “ore wa hanashi ga”. That’s called an omission, plain as that may be.)

(Yakuwarigo: Taihendaze!...Maybe that’s a bit far to call it “we’re f**ked”…? It could just be “we’re doomed!” or “we’ve got trouble!”)

(Yakuwarigo: Jyuto uses desune. He’s the most feminine of the trio by virtue of being the smallest height-wise and most polite due to his job, but he seems to bounce between casual and polite a lot.)

…wow, even the rap lyrics have the F bomb…and this time, you can see the evidence.

Natsu no mushi = bugs in the summer. Not a perfect match, but it works. (Notably, things like Gentaro’s speech and rap lyrics don’t play by the same yakuwarigo rules because you can play characters within it – e.g. the evil doctor Jakurai sometimes plays. I’ve noticed most of the songs use casual or whatever rhymes, even for someone like Doppo who’s considered more polite than most.)

…Despite the swearing…that song slaps, man! That’s great.

MTC seems to have more tragedy on average than other divisions. This is because FP and BB are quite light-hearted and mostly family-friendly with hidden depths, but MTR mostly has stalker stories. Update: That’s when they’re focussing on MTR solo. FP’s currently could get pretty dark soon and a lot of the dark/tragic stuff is not actually going to make the anime because it’s in the drama tracks/manga.

Okay, I’m not well-versed in yakuza slang but kumicho = boss, so Samatoki would have to answer to a kumicho.

Ah, it did switch! It’s just…uh, gone to an MTC version of itself (and it has the same name, “Kizuna”). So that means we wait another 6 episodes for MTR. On the other hand…what will the final version be? A whole cast version? A different song? No song at all? *shrugs* Only the future can tell us these things. (Also, why is Jyuto so loud…? That’s why I’m not a bigger fan of him. Much like Ramuda’s minna genki?, his iconic quotes like “In the building!” are so loud and silly-sounding, you just can’t get them out of your head.)

The cityscape in the middle of the disc at the ED’s start seems to have changed. I would assume that’s a Yokohama skyline.

Keiichi Nakagawa is the voice of Rentei…I should stop burning myself on guest VA appearances, this guy’s a rookie. This Nouzenkazura VA (Kenji Hamada) though is voiced by the guy who does Otegine in Touken Ranbu and isn’t as much of a rookie as Rentei’s.

Notably, where BB do the “BB sign” (as it seems to be known), MTC do a finger gun. MTR have the wolf fang, but…what is FP’s, then? Update: It’s a peace sign to the side to make an F.

Today’s new music was “Red Zone (Don’t Test da Master)”, by KLOOZ and DJ WATARAI.

*cringes at the airhorn* *briefly presses fingers to forehead, as if going to massage temples, but then removes them* The airhorn reminds me of crazy sport fans. Crazy anime fans are more civil than them, which is one reason why I don’t follow sports on the regular.

Update: Oh! The pond owl cafe in episode 2! It means Ikebukuro!...Sort of. Fukurou rhymes with ‘bukuro and ike = pond.

Hmm? Is it just me or is that T in the code the kanji for “bird” (tori)?

“It’s where I belong.” – I know my reason for pursuing Japanese is a purely selfish reason – so I can stay above others in the topics I think matter to me and pursue the endless natural high that comes from the thrill of translation (which may be all one reason or two, depending on how you look at it).

That CGI…is not the greatest.

According to Moon Land, gymnastics operates on a deduction/addition system. You add points for difficulty, but deduct points for errors like how Minamino’s feet are apart.

*sees montage* - Those CGI scenes really take out the budget, huh…?

Gymnastics moves are named after their creators…kinda like scientific names and finders.

There was a lot of commentary in Moon Land so I’m not sure what the moves are called from memory (the dialogue always did that for me), but having the reactions speak for themselves…I think the anime team has enough faith the reactions will convey everything. They did, by the way.

You can see the bone at the base of Minamino’s neck, under the skin…it’s sort of scary.

The fact you couldn’t see Jotaro’s eyes for a shot or two…that kind of unnerved me and built tension.

I'm very... Divided(I hope that's make sense on English) about it, like, if qcellbit really did it I think some people would react in a similar way they did to qbbh about Ron(how is that guy btw? I haven't heard about him anymore) and... Y'know, he changed from the guy he used be and such

Just because you haven't seen something does that mean it's not there? Also, just because you believe in something, does it mean that it exists really? I'm agnostic. Though Wicca seems like a more reasonable religion in most aspects (I've dabbled in research, I hope that doesn't offend anyone.)
