Hi Shakooo! 😊 The setup of Thneedville High (which was later renamed Thornville High after deoncelerization) was very different from the original Truffula Flu! Instead of a focused storyline, it was mainly a bunch of askblogs of high school AU OCs that answered asks and sometimes interacted with each other in short or long RPs, and each character had their own story. Much more slice of life compared to a zombie AU, but it was super popular during its time and it lasted at least 3 years! There were a LOT of amazing writers in this AU and they wrote their characters really well, I was very impressed with it all. Some of the characters felt like real actual people to me.

Anyway this means that...it's difficult to read the AU as a whole, chronologically. But you can look here: https://thornville.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Characters for a list of characters and links to their blogs. However, since this wiki hasn't been updated in years, I assume that it's not a complete list and that a lot of the links will be outdated or dead. What I advise, if you want to read thoroughly, is to just choose a character you're interested in and start reading their entire blog from the beginning, and eventually you'll find characters that they've interacted with, and you can read those characters' blogs next if they still exist, and so on.

RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS : Uhhh, pet peeves? I don't quite get what's with people not liking posts anymore or using the reply/comment feature more, like if you see someone posting an hc. Take a second to read? Give it a like or comment a heart even, if you're really that pressed to control your likes..... Dealbreakers, I haven't encountered anyone, I guess it'd be just if I pushed to write or make smut centric, but no one is doing that.

MUSE PREFERENCES : I like characters that have an internal struggle (lol that could be anyone). I don't know. I try to write so many types of characters, but characters like Clint I always come back too. Honestly, whatever is the character type that's been Clint Barton and Pepper Potts.

PLOTS OR MEMES : Memes are usually good to start, but I definitely wouldn't mind doing more plotting and giving a general direction to a thread. Although, really memes are great, and I truly appreciate those who send a bunch of memes, or don't mind treating some memes as one shots ( i love one shots ; just look at the length of some of my ask responses )

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES : Both. I want more shorter threads right now, but I have a knack for getting wordy and writing long things. This is why length matching does not matter, as long as there is enough substance to continue or something to help move something forward; a shorter reply to a longer reply is good; just as I tend to take a shorter thing and get longer with. This is also why I tend to like or mention with meme responses, like you can just reblog/save this and treat this as little one shot/drabble I wrote for you. I also tend to do the same.

BEST TIME TO WRITE : I don't get a lot of work, I am home all the time. So i'm bored a lot. So literally anytime, although I have a tendency to write a lot more late at night. For me, why I'm not writing is usually mood, or I don't have a very good set up for writing long haul; so if my neck, back, or hands and wrist start to cramp up cause my sit down to write isn't a good position/only position. That usually defeats me; like after I post this I will probably take a break, stretch, keep on my break and write a bit in a few hours.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S) : Yes and no / I don't know. I know I'm the type of neurospicy where Clint Barton has rotten my brain for like the past 15 years or something; and I've been writing him for like 10 years; that I'm probably funny like Clint is, but who actually knows lol. I try to be normal and healthy with muse and mun separation; even if his whole recovery arc is very important and real to me; and I will live in the delusion that is what I am getting from the comics as in I will just write it myself on my roleplay blog (this is a joke; legally I have to say that I think)

HI, I'M HOP! Yes, my actual name is Hop too. He/him for admin as well. I've been wanting to make one of these for ages but only just now got the balls lolz. A little rotomblr/rotumblr based on my characterization of Hop for my Pokémon AU I've been working really hard to write, Pokémon Unown Legends Tale!! BEST EXPERIENCE : In particular it was a RP in my manga days of RP with my Oga Tatsumi muse. Me and a bunch of Nintendo related muses (After playing the hilarious spectacle of Shut up and Jam Gaiden, proceeded to do a shounen-esque RP of basketball that went into comical perfection. Rosalina Nintendo did indeed nuke everyone at the end with her Cosmic, universal shattering dunk.

It was GLORIOUS.

RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS :

:| So uh, there may be a bit to this.

Trauma/Stress Dumping: The #1 that will have me done at the drop of a hat. Since I even began rp'ing it's always been this thing, people seeking other folks/people who offer up solid chill times to just go and vent the entire world and then some onto them. Mind you a lot of these interactions being with strangers likely known for a week at most.

This literally has no changed a lick since middle school. Unless I've known you for a considerable amount of time, this is the easiest way to proceed breaking all contact with me.

Not to have this confused with venting on your own blog/space. I accept and always respect that boundary. Just do not use talking as an opportunity to lean into such subject matter. It's one of the central reasons I'm really careful in joining group chats to begin with. There is a difference in telling me that a day was rough/bullshit, AND letting me know of particular territory to be watchful for in discussion, then just using me as an outlet. Especially in what I take for a hobby.

Socializing =/= Writing time: While I enjoy the social aspect of RP in it's nature. I never want to be in a position where the hangout time I spend with you creates the curve of interaction. That easily exhausts me and takes the fun from things once I'm clued in. Honestly speaking, someone could never talk to me outside sparse words, and we just run around with our muses writing up all sorts of scenarios and it'd work perfectly. This is what I use the website for!

Plotting does not fall under this umbrella. If people need an angle to make their magic work, I'm all for cooperating with you, this again just leans into xyz activities outside the hobby. Stretching yourself too thin in this regard can genuinely screw people over in other long time hang outs too, I've learned that the hard way.

Reference of Son/Daughter talk in mention to the muse in question: While I've first seen it on this website, in the same vein it's made me incredibly goddamn tired as it reels directly into the conversation involving the infantalization of muses. This likely strikes the highs for me into terms of 'Fandom Curses' alongside 'One character quality defines the whole character in question.'. Let's not even get started into fandom habits shaping the perception of a character OUTSIDE of canon content. Having muses that had to deal with the primary talk point here, I've just said to hell with giving many things or people a chance.

It just comes off as a really weird practice to me. It leans off heavily into the realm of character disrespect on top of that, as these idealized fandom notions. (For Example: Kingdom Heart's Aqua being relegated to 'Momqua'.) It gets too 'family' oriented in a sense where these accomplished characters can't really explore the depth of both their struggles, triumphs and lows. So if you seen me avoid that like the plague, that's exactly why.

'Comfort Character' Projection: It aligns a smidgen with the above. But no, have no expectation that I'll ever be a source to live out these particulars with you if I happen to play that very muse. I've again not hesitated to cut off connections at all when people attempt to wire these expectations onto me. My iteration of the muse is exactly what you signed up for by following me, respect that, just as I respect your boundaries.

MUSE PREFERENCES: If we're talking about the TYPE of muse I enjoy? Delinquent muses take the penultimate crown. I love those rowdy but firm hearted types.

PLOTS OR MEMES : Throw both at me. Now days I've gotten particularly more experienced into the plotting department. In the same vein I can't have it entirely streamlined either. I gotta let the muses breathe their breaths and exercise their own voice and actions.

That said? Memes are eternal, just throw those in anyday of the week, even if they're in the old logs of my blog. I never mind that. Just the prompts and scenarios alone can spark forth some vivid ideas/adventures that do lead into plotting. So hell, both sides win.

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES : Either is good. Though, a forewarning that I CAN wind up getting wordy. This never has to be matched as I'm just a sucker for details.

BEST TIME TO WRITE : For me, it's normally times outside the midday. It's usually when I'm available, as you'd come to see me around mornings or nights. (Also it's the best focus time.)

I say normally however, there's also plenty of times I'd just be hanging around on/off periodically.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S) : Outside of some brazen qualities. Not really no!

hello hello !! this is me inviting you talk about your titan army ocs (if you want to ofc) !!!!

i always want to talk abouy my titan army ocs. i love them so much i plucked them out of pjo and now i'm writing an entire original work with them as the main characters. but that's a conversation for my main blog @encrucijada

the ocs are part of an ongoing au/rp between me, @on-the-river-lethe and a friend of ours who's not on tumblr. we each created an oc to play as and things unravelled from there. this is going under a read more because boy there's a lot

piedad narváez (my oc). daughter of urania, muse of astronomy. they/she. claimed soon after arriving to camp, has an okay relationship with her mum but only because she's an only daughter lol powers are orpheus-like in that whenever she plays music they can entrance people, can also navigate using the stars. then while doing research i realised urania had a prophetic aspect and now piedad sometimes receives premonitions when looking at the stars. weapon of choice are knives and has a violin as a support item for the music stuff, the bow of which turns into a stiletto knife.

hudson moretti (fluffy's oc). son of hypnos, god of sleep. he/him. big guy but a huge softy, a sleepy jock if that's a thing. less than having a bad relationship with hypnos he just doesn't have a relationship with him at all lmao because hypnos is bad at checking in on his kids. has the standard kid of hypnos powers like inducing sleep and also dreamwalking and dream discarding. uses a sword as weapon. him and piedad obviously stayed at the hermes cabin and they were sort of the de-facto counsellors of the claimed kids with no cabin. everyone uses him as a pillow because he makes sleeping safe and cosy.

ericka mulligan (oc of our other friend). daughter of demeter, goddess of harvest. she/her. starts out as the counsellor of cabin 4 until deserting before som. demeter favoured her for being the counsellor but everyone in cabin 4 knows mum will never love you as much as she loves persephone. the "manager" of the team, in a way, she has a schedule and a list for everything. standard demeter kid powers like plant growing, etc. i actually have no idea what her weapon is?? gotta look it up. one-sided crush on luke rip. would have put her hands on the fire for him.

adam rubio (another oc of mine). son of apollo, god of music. he/him. i specify god of music because adam got the music aspect of his dad's attributes, if he sings or plays an instrument he can do all sorts of things ranging from inducing sleep to inducing pain. has no opinion of apollo one way or another. not actually part of the titan army! he stays behind and it's a huge conflict with the others. main weapon is the recurve bow but knows how to use a sword for survival reasons.

allegra anders (npc). daughter of tyche, goddess of fortune. she/her. she and her twin sister rachel were staples in cabin 11, until rachel joined the titan army and left allegra behind. haven't really explored her character in depth but i know she has a special coin she fidgets with a lot.

robin holloway (npc). daughter of hebe, goddess of youth. she/her. another staple of cabin 11, doesn't join the titan army just like allegra. hudson's ex-girlfriend lmao probably the nicest girl you will ever meet. we wanted conflict and also to populate camp with more "older" demigods, that's why these two girls are here.

and we also did stuff like ageing up malcolm pace to be luke's age and now he is the counsellor of cabin 6 because annabeth was literally 12 in tlt. she's co-counsellor due to being a lot more proactive than malcolm. and we also aged up alabaster torrington to be one or two years younger than luke, just because i doubt a bunch of demigods in their 20s would have been like "yeah let that 15yo participate in meetings". we always saw the titan army as more a congregation of young adults than teenagers, basically the demigods who've been here too long and are tired. not featured here are some "name only" background characters like counsellors for other cabins, because we stuck to what annabeth says in tlt about all counsellors except her being of college age. in our take of pjo these counsellors would leave for the army and leave their teenage siblings at the head of the cabins, which would be the counsellors we see throughout pjo

okay with the stage set now let me Actually talk about these guys

@on-the-river-lethe (aka fluffy) and i have done most of the work here. our other friend isn't as insane about pjo lmao. on top of the changes to some ages and whatnot we also did a crucial change regarding luke's quest mates not dying in the garden of the hesperides, instead he is accompanied by piedad and hudson who are both brutally injured by ladon. luke gives up the chance to take the golden apple while ladon is distracted more or less killing his friends to help them. piedad does lowkey die and while passed out receives a premonition of luke with golden eyes. we have an overview of how the quest goes and to add insult to injury hermes sent luke on a fetch quest just to keep him from getting antsy, it wasn't for anything heroic.

things go back to business as usual with all three of them baring the scars of the failed quest, it hits luke the worst. when kronos starts stirring things up in his brain ericka, hudson and piedad don't follow because of kronos but because they believe in luke. luke is their friend, luke is the best of them, luke is the poster-child hero, if anyone can bring change it's luke. ericka and hudson abandon camp before the events of som, piedad sticks around. the premonition is worrying and they're not sure what to do about it. but life at camp without her friends becomes unbearable. she's just another cabin-less demigod in cabin 11, she's a low risk cabin-less demigod in cabin 11. before the events of ttc she makes the switch fully.

because we discovery write a lot of the details i can't say exactly what happens while they are all in the titan army proper. i know piedad doesn't desert camp until the battle in camp at the end of botl, they'd gone back in the summer to be a spy. we know that when luke suggests bailing on everything once he realises kronos used him hudson in particular gets on his case about it (slams luke against a wall) and yells at him about how they risked everything for him, he can't run now, they won't leave every demigod that believes in them to die. we know they go with luke to see may castellan and she grabs piedad by the shoulders and yells about luke's fate to her face. piedad had kept the premonition to themself this whole time and luke, obviously fed up about his fate being kept from him, snaps.

i have written a couple of one-shots for this. i have one about piedad having a conversation with kronos where she bluffs about him getting to the throne room in olympus and luke dying (she was right) and probably has some of my favourite quotes. one of the immediate aftermath of the garden of the hesperides where apollo warns her against telling luke. this monstrosity about adam, the son of apollo mentioned above, who took over my brain and is set after the events of tlo.

(we call the group of luke, ericka, hudson and piedad the "generals" btw.)

the aftermath of everything is a little clearer than the actual events within pjo. ericka, hudson and piedad move to chicago where hudson is from. they stay with hudson's mum for a while before getting their own place. they are pretty much war criminals now, son of magic style, and the olympian council wants them out of the picture. they may not be children of the big 3 dangerous but they did grow in power while being generals of the army. they did not stay to receive any possible pardons or sentence, following the battle of manhattan they simply fled. apollo offers piedad a position as a sibyl, due to her prophetic abilities, it's not a pardon of any kind but it is a bit of protection as harming an oracle is strictly forbidden. they never set foot in camp again.

i like to picture them as a possible pit-stop during tlh. jason, piper and leo would be running from a monster and see this neon sign advertising a sibyl of all things and offering card readings. they go inside and what they find are former titan army soldiers. a guy drinking a large cup of coffee. lots of plants everywhere. and the sibyl is a short scarred enby.

not everything is set in stone and we have much to explore still, like morpheus (hudson's brother) siding with kronos. ericka probably never spoke to demeter ever again, or more like demeter never spoke to her again after she disappointed her so. and just because this is our au and we can do whatever, the generals meet nico and form a bit of a relationship with him. not that we need an excuse apart from "fluffy and i really like nico and we want our ocs to interact with him", but it does fit nico's tendency to just be in on everyone's business. and i think it would be hilarious if he knew about the generals, was friends with them, stayed at their place sometimes, and just never mentioned it at chb.

uh. what else. um... piedad/adam is a thing because i wanted my daughter of a muse oc to have a thing going with a son of apollo. we made malcolm/hudson a thing and it's amazing. i could talk for hours about adam, but right now i'll say he becomes head counsellor of cabin 7 after lee fletcher dies in botl (lee in our version would have been a veteran camper, older than luke).

man this ran long oops. sorry for mostly talking about my oc, it's because they're my oc. i talk even more over on my main blog, about the pjo versions but also the original versions (the worldbuilding is based on dreams).

⚔️ hi, this might be a very long shot, but i’m looking some arthurian legend-based rp - to be specific, for someone to write mordred against my galahad. no need to be a literary expert, since i’m pretty casual myself, and draw inspiration from a variety of texts, including modern retellings. an important thing to note is that my interpretation of galahad is non-binary, and uses they/them pronouns for the most part. in return, i’m not fussed about mordred’s gender ; i’ve seen a bunch of different portrayals ( shoutout to bastard of camelot + high noon over camelot fans if you’re out there ), so whether your mordred is m/f/nb or anything along the spectrum, i’ll roll with it!

i’d prefer this rp to be somewhat canon-adjacent, even if it’s hard to pinpoint one (1) arthurian canon, but i could be persuaded to dabble in some aus once we get the ball rolling! i’d love to explore their potential interactions, as i find their positions as narrative foils and their eventual fates fascinating. expect teenage shenanigans, some fluff, pining and angst! i’m game to include darker themes ( given their respective backstories, mentions of incest or rape are kind of hard to avoid ), as well as some nsfw if interactions lead us there, though i’d prefer to keep a 20/80 smut to plot ratio at most and stay focused on the non-sexual parts of their relationship. i’ll do my best to be proactive in plotting, and i’d like the same from a partner. rp works best when people bounce ideas off each other, and i promise to match your enthusiasm.

for ooc requirements, i’m f21+, so i’d prefer a 18+ ( preferably 20+ ) partner. my platform of choice is discord, but i’m open to making sideblogs on tumblr if that’s your preference! as for technical details, i’m a literate, multi-para ( 300 to 500 words usually ) writer who uses third person + past or present tense, and looking for about the same. no need to match length every reply, but i don’t do one-liners and like to get fairly wordy. i will not reach out to blogs that have no information at all available. a bit of writing on them ( to see if our styles mesh! ) would be ideal, but at the very least, i’d appreciate seeing an alias + age range. re : availability, i’m usually in cest, with a fairly busy job/major, but i can be pretty fast with replies whenever i’m free, so you can expect one every couple days / a few times a week.

Types of RP / How I do threads

I usually start things through asks, but I don't mind using another method! I write as much as I can with the information I have, so short replies will get a short reply, for instance. Overall, I enjoy building relationships and stories through long interactions as much as I enjoy the silly shenanigans.

Plotting Preferences

I roleplay for fun, and plotting too much stresses me(?). While I enjoy plotting things out to not make a brainless mess, most of the time I wing it with little to no plans aside from the one given by the prompt or starter. I'm afraid that if I plot too much I'll forget or do something else later, maybe fully contradictory because I realize that my character won't do that right then/it doesn't make sense/I overthink in another way and something else comes out anyway lmao.

Type of threads I do / Prefer

I admit I like long-ish threads more, even if they take so much longer, but I still enjoy silly short things if our muses know each other enough for me to have an idea of their dynamic/relationship. Sadly, it's harder for me to engage with one-liners (of literally one line or two and hardly any context), so I tend to drop those faster.

My writing style and seriousness may vary a little with the thread as well (like deeper narration or less dialogue) depending on the theme, so I enjoy longer ones more for that reason too, as I get to explore things more thoroughly.

I just like writing a lot.

But!! Please don't ever feel pressured to match my word count! I don't mean to overwhelm my RP partners, I just get inspired sometimes lol ;; but I try to keep it fair. I'm okay if I have enough to work on plot-wise for my muse to answer, as extensive or concise it turns out to be.

Reply Speed for Threads, Consistency & Keeping threads

As I said previously, literal one liners make me drop things faster. Adi from that, if I'm loaded with my own projects and a bunch of threads, I may forget about some unintentionally. But feel free to remind me! I generally don't like to drop them unless there's nothing else to be said or done. In normal situations, I reply within a week or the same day if it's short thing/I'm already working on replies when I get a new one. It depends on my mood and energy.

Romantic or sexual ships

My blog was not made for shipping or RP for that matter initially lol, but I LOVE the ships that were born along the way and their different dynamics. I definitely prefer natural chemistry to be the main reason why our characters get along (or not), since I don't want to force anything. Talking about them and slight plotting is totally fine, and not shipping at all it totally fine as well! Some take longer than others for me to ship them but just know that if our characters click, they will live rent-free in my head 💕

Smut

I definitely feel more comfortable with developed ships than with spontaneous what-if things and the like when it comes to RP. I don't mind sinday ask memes or headcanons per request (as long as you're of age). However, smut is not the kind of writing I have the most experience on so I'm sorry if I'm suddenly very weird and self-conscious about it 😭 But I do like to write it, better yet if it's with someone I already write with like pls hold my hand.

I think it's worth noting that I will let you know if I'm uncomfortable with something, and I expect the same from whoever writes with me. It's supposed to be for fun, so let's keep it that way!

I personally prefer to talk about it beforehand if that's not an issue (not full on extensive details, just to know what we're doing dkfdjf) because, unlike my characters (sadly), I'm the Least Assertive Person On Earth™ to make a move without permission(????).

Active hours [GMT-3]

My schedule is fucked 💀 But I'm the most free and active around 6 PM onwards, until potentially ungodly hours depending on my sleep schedule at the time— Maybe I post things in the morning/afternoon but I rarely write for RP if not at night when I'm free and relaxed.

Activity Schedule

I try to be active daily in my blog somehow, threads are not my main focus nor what I'm in the mood for most of the time, but I feel like musing or sharing art very often. When it comes to RP it can get more sporadic depending on the amount of threads I have ongoing or how long they are.

Starters

Sometimes I do selective calls for mutuals, but it's not often. I don't do these unless I have a specific idea and I'm sure it will have some interaction (usually I announce/ask first), otherwise I do something else instead.

AUs

My blog is an AU on its own and I don't mind engaging in more! Here's the Available Verses that are open for interaction in this blog. The different ships happening within the Independent Verse are like their own sub-AUs and some have AUs within those AUs as well, lol. I love them.

What I don't like doing is starting over: our characters meeting again for whatever reason and this or that never happened. Starting over calls for pushing the interactions in a way imo, which I'm not okay with. I'd rather explore whatever conflict or struggle through interactions and let our muses solve their hardships together or deal with the consequences. It's fine for a separate AU to explore different things, but not to replace the main one.

Crossovers

experience/how many years: too long man . so I started way back on myspace in 2009 with a random renesmee blog - but it was very short lived because I ran into this huge twilight group and turned her into an oc named chloe lucas . eventually , the person who vacated a brady fuller profile offered up the entire edited page for whoever wanted it so I took it over and entered into some of the best times of my life . I fell in love with brady ( & a ship I had on there which was so angsty and just lsdkfj ) and ended up writing analee ( now analeigh here ) ateara , kim connweller , and I'm sure some others I'm forgetting . any way the mun behind part of my brady ship introduced me from there to tumblr and I joined a pjo rpg group as cora ( a daughter of demeter ) . from there the biggest tumblr group moment was mushu's daughter in a disney group named faith who I adored & I dilly-dallied around on here in groups until the same mun that brought me here ( miss you so much skdlfj ) introduced me to indie . and I've been stuck in the indie hell-hole for years . I started out with just a single muse jacob blog ( spaceheatcr - sigh I loved that blog ) and then eventually came around to the idea of multi-muses and here I am .

best experience: I'd have to say the first twilight group ( twilight teams - it was so cute you were " team forks " or " team la push " or " team volturi " or " team nomad " depending on who you wrote / where they lived ) on myspace because I met hella lifelong friends that I still have on facebook etc and it made me fall in love with writing / expressing & developing different muses . also the disney group I was in on here ( back to disney I think it was called ? it was a boarding school type for disney character's kids and SO cute and the admins were all so sweet I cry ) was amazing and just wholesome . and then spaceheatcr my jacob single muse because I also made lots of friends ( hales literally brought me back for this blog so I mean come on ) and idk.

rp pet peeves: bothering me over plots I don't agree with / if I block you / don't follow you / don't respond in time in a pestering way . I don't mind a hey is this thread still going if it's been awhile but I've had a few instances where people just were icky over like my time and availability . it makes writing a chore for me and that's when I usually go on hiatus . also, there is a reason I usually do mains and not exclusives on indie blogs . I had a horrid experience with a ship where the mun literally followed me onto here from myspace and acted super clingy / possessive over a male muse of mine ( i won't go into details this isn't a call-out but still ) and would like get jealous / angry ooc if he interacted with any other people in any ship way / close way etc etc etc and just all this other shit so yeah, I'm on indie for a reason - I enjoy exploring multiple ships ( not even just romantic but ya know ) and universes and aus and what have you so like - idk, exclusives are not my thing and mainly bc of that . I'm so scared of that happening again .

plots or memes: memes are the best way to get ideas rolling in my head because sometimes I just hit a block with plots and also idk where to go with new people ? mostly because I feel awkward and don't wanna suggest things and like offend or upset anyone so it's always a good idea just to either attack me with plots or memes lol. most of the time I'll say yes - esp now that I have a ship page for canon up for my thoughts on them and have some headcanons rolling for my own canon views .

long or short replies: this honestly depends entirely on my muse and not on my partner at all . sometimes short replies have to happen to transition . sometimes short replies are all I can come up with because my muse is fighting me . and sometimes I go stupid and crazy and give you a novella . it's literally all me not you sdlkfj and will vary within threads and memes for the same muses depending . so never be discouraged !!!

are you like your muse: I have so many muses - a lot of them I am drawn to because there is something I see in them that I guess is like me ? some are not like me at all tbh . I guess it all depends on who we're talking about . I try to have variety so idk .

IMPORTANT INFO FOR THOSE MAKING NEW RP BLOGS

NOTE: because my other blog got term.i.na.ted i thought i'd go ahead and copy / paste this into a post on here and give a more clear and better understanding of everything.

as some of you are aware, anyone who makes a blog on or after of november 26, 2022 are unable to use LTE. if you've made a blog prior to this update, you will see an option to switch between BTE and LTE in the top right corner of their browser. it would look something like this for those who do have it:

what this means is that the staff is on the roll with fully implementing and enforcing the BETA TEXT EDITOR on everyone. not only that but i'm going to assume that they're going to be making a site wide update within the next month or two ( march at the very latest ). what this means is that literally everybody is going to be forced to use the BTE whether they want to or not.

and not only that but it's gotten to the point to where the new xkit is slowly but surely breaking for people because of how outdated it is and the staff enforcing us to use the BETA TEXT EDITOR. so i definitely recommend y'all going ahead and embracing BETA TEXT EDITOR as well as getting xkit rewritten for when the day actually make the site wide update for literally everybody.

so with that being said, here are a couple of addons i recommend y'all getting:

limit checker: this is an absolute life saver. i kid you not. it tells you the number of asks you sent as well as text / video / videos / etc. posts you've made among a few other things. it's super neat.

mass deleter: unfortunately this only deletes stuff from your drafts and queue but it's definitely worth getting if you have tons of stuff and / or are a hoarder.

mass unliker: i like to sort through my likes every once in a while tbh but if it gets out of hand and you tend to have 8,645,132,154,568 likes then feel free to use this so that you don't have to go through each and every thing in your likes.

mutual checker: do i really need to explain this one?? being able to see who you're moots with via dash is 1,000,000 times easier than going to your followers and CTRL + F nonstop.

tag replacer: having a mass tag replacer is, without a doubt, an absolute life saver. this is especially useful for us roleplayers who tend to change our aesthetics from time to time and have updated our tags. and even if you don't change your tags regularly it's still worth getting this.

tag tracking+: this lets you know when you've been tagged in something!! ah!! 10 out of 10 love it.

timestamps: this is a must for just about all of us in the tumblr rpc. it lets us know when those we follow / moots have posted! so that definitely helps out a lot. it also allows you to choose between the standard format and iso 8601 format, so there's that!

trim posts: thankfully this addon isn't as confusing as it was when first implemented. thankfully it's a lot more user friendly and easier to use now! but keep in mind that you cannot trim legacy posts in this. all replies have to be strictly done in BTE otherwise it's a one-sided editing spree. no exceptions.

there are a bunch of other little addons you can pick from as well but these are some that i use and can't seem to recommend enough tbh!

○ experience/how long (months/years?): I've been writing for a long ass time I just don't know how long lol, I want to say at least since 2015, but honestly, probably longer than that. I haven't been consistently roleplaying in all those years, lots of on and off, but yeah

○ platforms you’ve used: like a bunch of random roleplay websites, but ever since I joined tumblr I've never looked back

○ best experience: okay honestly I think right now is my best experience I mean, I've been on tumblr a long time but since coming back after a two year gap during lovely covid, everything has been just extra fantastic. I've met back up with people I used to write with, I've met so many amazing people and I just couldn't possibly feel more welcome and more excited to write with everyone. I just love it here lol, everybody here is what makes being here such a great experience

○ rp pet peeves / dealbreakers: I mean, this is actually kinda hard. It is a little frustrating when people follow me or follow me back and then never interact cause I get stupid happy when I see new followers. This rarely happens but it still did happen..... People who tell me they know nothing about my character and ask me to tell them about my muse, and their excuse is "well she's an oc," as if my blog isn't flooding with information about my muse. I guess not really roleplay specific but, it's definitely annoying when people complain about things other people in the rpc do when it's literally like, like it doesn't matter it's this innocent thing but for some reason they're treating it like it's a crime. Biggest dealbreaker is not respecting my boundaries and just being rude, or passively rude. Like seriously just be nice and compassionate and we good

○ fluff, angst, or smut: fluff and angst. I don't like smut, I don't care about smut, I just... have zero interest. And Bailey is 14 years old anyways so like, jfc no. Even with muses of age, no smut. Angst and fluff though yesyes

○ plots or memes: I am literally the absolute worst when it comes to plotting. My brain is just, it don't function that way? Me and plot ideas do not have a good relationship at all. That doesn't mean I won't plot at all, I will, if that is what people want. But I always tell people and I put it in my rules that I am literally so terrible and please don't get mad at me if I can't think of anything lol. So obviously I love just winging it, and I really love memes and continuing from memes cause they help give ideas!

○ long or short replies: I feel like I mostly do 3 or 4 paragraphs. I try to match what my partner writes. I think I can write more than that if I try, but I don't want to overwhelm anyone so I try matching what they write. It also depends on the reply because sometimes depending on what's going on I can write more or can't figure out how to write more

○ best time to write: I have no life whatsoever so my best time to write is literally just whenever the heck. All of the times.

○ are you like your muse(s): In some ways? I think we both enjoy the word fuck oop, but she's definitely more confident than I am and won't hesitate to punch you in the face with her knife whereas I am scared of my own shadow... But we both love stuffed animals. I have a huge collection of plushies and she's really attached to her stuffed bear.

3. Whose writing has impacted your writing style the most? (You can choose anyone! Famous writer or not.) — I hate that I’m about to say this, because these books are frankly not well written. But I think Warriors (yes, the cat books) shaped my writing style a lot more than I care to admit. They have a very plain writing style that doesn’t use that much flowery language in favor of just getting to the point, there’s generally a greater focus on action and dialogue than vivid description, and they really, really overuse the em dash... yeah. It me.

4. Which muse of yours is your all time favorite? If you stopped writing them: why? — This has to be Reg. I’m coming up on seven years of writing him, and he’s seen by far the most development of any characters I’ve played. I have multiple extended verses with him with partners that I absolutely adore, and it’s just so easy to slip into his shoes for a bit. Other muses I sometimes have to fight to find their voices, but never for him. His voice is just there. Lately I haven’t been playing him on Tumblr as much, due to generally slower/less active partners (and Clark’s muse being so ridiculously high rn), so he’s been restricted to Discord. But I do adore him, very much, so if any of you have Star Trek AUs (or others, he’s got a bunch), please feel free to go bother the broccoli boy.

6. Is roleplaying the only writing-based hobby you have, or are there other things you like to write? — I occasionally write fanfic, but it’s not a common thing. I prefer the collaborative aspect of roleplay. If I’m just writing for myself, I tend to lose inspiration after a while, but having another person to bounce off of helps keep my energy and excitement up long-term.

7. Describe your favorite relationship dynamic. (Can be any kind, platonic, romantic, familial, antagonistic, etc.) — On this blog? I absolutely adore writing Dad Clark. Whether it’s with his literal children, or just the eighteenth angsty teenager he’s decide to forcibly mentor, every single one of them is just so fun for me. S&L focusing so heavily on Clark as a dad was a large part of why I fell in love with the character again and made this blog, so naturally it’s factored into things here pretty heavily.

12. What roleplay trends do you remember from the year you started tumblr RP? How did you feel about those trends? — I don’t know what year it was, but there was briefly a promo trend where you would post a simple row of icons and then basically write a pitch for your blog, describing your character almost like you were a salesman, trying to entice interested people to follow you. And I absolutely loved it because it didn’t require any fancy graphics, just a couple icons that you likely already had. Instead it relied solely on your writing and how interesting your character was. That one should absolutely make a comeback.

13. What themes/motifs do you hope other people notice most about your character? — I’m not really sure what I want other people to notice, I can only say the ones I try to lean into. The main one being that Clark is just a regular guy before he’s Superman. He’s just a dorky farmboy who happens to have god powers, and he’s doing his best to balance that.

14. Which roleplay community has been your favorite to write in? — Overall, I’ve had the best experiences in the Trek RPC. I’ve also had the worst experiences in the Trek RPC but that’s besides the point.

It depends, anon! I'm going to give you a long answer because other people may wonder the same:

I only rp with mutuals (as in I people I follow from this blog, it's okay if they follow me from a main one, as long as their sideblog is linked somewhere I'll find it and check it out), and when people follow me I check their blog to see their rules, character bios and even threads because I have a type of anxiety that makes me feel legit sick at the thought of telling someone "now that I read your about/now that I got to know your character I don't feel like writing with you anymore" or "no, I don't want to rp", so if I didn't follow you back maybe there is something that didn't work out for me (but it doesn't mean there is something wrong with you!)

when it comes to Fallout I've already plotted/started writing with ocs if you want to consider main characters from Fallout videogames as such (I do, we create them and our choices change their stories), and told people with multimuses that I'd rather write with one of their muses only instead of the other canon ones, because I don't know the games well enough yet! There are times when I don't follow a blog of a canon character I may love because I don't feel like I'm into their writing, or when I don't follow an OC or a canon one that I don't know because I'm not into the type of relationship I can guess my character would have with them, or I don't agree with their rules; then there are times when I will follow and rp with OCs and canon characters I don't know well because I checked them out and could picture writing threads with them and having fun.

So it always depends on whether I like a rper's way to write, the character, the RELATIONSHIP that I can imagine my character having with theirs, which is super important (example: I hate when mine is supposed to let a stranger mistreat them and can't defend themselves) and so on. But I am also very influenced by how much I don't know about their background too or if there are things I find triggering, like in Fallout itself there are so many groups of people I just don't know or I don't want to spoiler myself about. This is because I'm a person who had MANY blogs in the past that she literally had to abandon because she didn't like a bunch of threads she had but didn't have the heart to say she wanted to stop.

(Plus I feel better writing with either canon characters I already know or ocs, while I don't feel super confident writing with canon characters I don't know because it always ends up with me not knowing where to go with the thread and just responding, which I don't feel is fun nor nice to the other rper.)

So if you followed me from your main (and your sideblogs are linked on it) and I didn't follow them back I'm very sorry, I am SURE you have an amazing blog, I'm just too stressed out to reach out of my comfort zone! I'd never look down on OCs, not just because I have and love them, but that's exactly why I consider them on the same level of canon ones and I am equally picky! It's just that I'm anxious as hell myself so I follow veeeery few people to avoid abandoning this blog too if an interaction doesn't work out!

But it was totally okay to ask, don't worry! I am also more inclined to focus on the ones I know with Lucy because I am writing in the tvshow universe more than in the games, and I've found most fallout blogs require some previous knowledge of the games for me to be able to interact properly!

i've written a handful of ficlets n drabbles, i like writing out little character study one-shots. i also dm'd a homebrew campaign for about a year, so i got to write a lot of worldbuilding stuff ; the campaign exploded due to personal reasons, & the group isn't playing together anymore, so i haven't had chances to do dnd-related writing in while.

do you expect your answered memes/asks to be turned into threads? regardless of answer, what’s your reasoning?

i don't expect it, but i do encourage it, as i very rarely manage to wrangle up plotted starters, & i've always found asks to be great jumping off points for interactions. not everything has to be planned, & sometimes the greatest threads can come from off-hand replies that simply grew & spiraled.

muse a: My first true threading experience was with the chat post format for threads. muse b: Threads that went on for at least 30 replies without trimming. muse a: That looked like the backlogs of IM threads. muse b: Complete with-- *actions*

it's in a similar vein to how often threads wouldn't get trimmed until the oldest reply was squished by the blockquote to individual words. good riddance to that, i can't believe there were people genuinely upset by the loss of blockquote walls, but the chat post thing is a fond memory, if only for that being how i did my first ever threads here.

big fuck-off jpegs instead of icons, even before gif hunts solidified themselves, think dollmaker game downloads, like how some people nowadays use picrews but with zero of the cropping. i was part of the crowd, & i was more than happy to switch to scouring gif hunts, then icon hunts, then learning to make icons myself.

magic anons were literally everywhere you blinked, & even if they weren't Magic Anons a bunch of people treated anons as simply blank-faced characters that could interact & talk to the muses like any dedicated-blog character might. they were fun, & i know anons still get treated with some degree of agency now, but no one's really threading with anons these days, y'know ; i like where we are with them right now.

everyone had the same handful of free template blog themes, the most widely used ones being fluid & redux. i've all but entirely switched to dash-only, but the template themes were nice, & seeing an ancient blog that still has one of them feels like stepping into a vintage bookshop.

Okay so I don't usually infodump on here often. I know people don't follow me for my personal issues. Actually I don't know why most of you follow me.

But man I'm really down in it right now and I don't wanna get "whiny" on Discord so you all get to hear about my fear of rejection and how it, and the general online community I run with these days, has me feeling like I'm spinning my wheels and.... dare I say increasingly a failure?

This one's long but I'm not gonna edit it down for your sake so read it if you want or pass it if you don't. Might sneak something in the middle of it just for funsies.

Believe it or not I'm staring at the Keep Reading line because I don't freaking know where to start here there's just so much.

I guess let's start with I'm one of the moderators for a fairly niche but also fairly robust RPing Discord. I'm also the oldest active user there at 30 (and soon to be a half).

It's a server that's still recruiting fresh-faced 18 year olds so that's a 12 year age gap my friends. Which was never really an issue for me until my mother died earlier this year and now I'm trying to balance working 24-29 hours a week plus doing all the work of maintaining a house alone. In short, they're full of youthful energy and half the time I just want to sleep.

Which is where we circle back to the RPing Discord part of it. It's an RP Discord, we do big group RPs. Which used to be fun for me back when I worked 20-24 hours a week and lived with my mother, also when those RPs averaged like.... 10-12 people in them. These days they average 16-18 people in them and I have it feels like half the time to pay attention to them.

So you know, obvious answer is "well just step back from that big stuff. Keep moderating but start trying to do smaller group stuff." Which ordinarily would be the right answer but I have a problem. I'm... weird by their standards. In more than just my availability. I'm a not-yet-outed mtf (listen that's an entirely different longpost I could make about my fears over not passing the public perception test) and girl lover, this is a server that is still probably 75% ftms and gay men (of bara/dilf taste).

You can psychoanalyze me all you want on this one but I want to do stuff like Magical Girls or even just Anime Slice of Life, but I know there's no real market for it there. I've tried floating some of my ideas out before but usually it's struck down as on the lighter end being "too niche" or on the harder end I've actually gotten an "Ew why would people want to do something like that?" There's a few folks who I think would like it, but they are like me either too busy to notice or too new to know me well enough.

I've tried other Discord communities but they're all either skewed too young or too fucking weird even for me (I'm making a side blog for some of the absolute trash I've found on this hunt don't worry). I've poked around Roll20 and Reddit but honestly those sites scare the shit out of me with their applications and such. Look, my tabletop experience is about 6 sessions of Monsterhearts (before timezones doomed the group) and a session 0 of D&D (honestly it just wasn't that fun of a setup). Not to mention R20 and Reddit are just flooded with 5E games (thanks Critical Role, Honor Among Thieves, and Baldur's Gate 3...).

So instead of getting a chance to fuck around and find out, I'm stuck watching a bunch of college students with more free time than me spin big group RPs out of control faster than my head can keep up, so I lose the plot, and then limp out of the room feeling like a failure and a bad moderator. And also posting a long "get it off my chest" post on Tumblr about it.

That's it, there's no great resolution here. I literally just needed to say this stuff before it turned into what it usually does for me which is envy and hatred.
