#tried to talk about it on vc but no one's paying attention haha #talkin about it here cuz I've been meaning to share with. someone #hi if you're reading this:) #peter prattles #anyways. started a new project recently; i got a model for my mask so I'm thinking about printing it out? #got the STL (STereoLithography (file format for CAD software made by 3d systems)) files fhe other day; they look like they'll fit well toge #ther after i print them; so that's good. not a lot of sanding ill have to do on the main face shell; 8& #augh #*; it's already textured #i keep pressing comma. stop #anyways. got the files; it took FOREVER to splice but that's alright. i haveta do it regardless #*slice not splice #the whole process of slicing something (FOR 3D MODELING BY THE WAY) is really interesting; i should look more into that #the thing is; the files and info I got on them didn't say what orientation to print the mask in? that was odd #it also didn't say what fill / support types to use. but I'll figure that out in the morning #oh! my favourite part I'm working on for the mask is that it is able to attach / detach in specific sections; so it's easily disassembled #I'm using neodymium magnets (specifically 10mmx1mm or 1/16in discs) to connect it all together #I'm thinking about making it disconnect in about 4/6 different places? four for sure #not sure about the last two though. thinking about making the LENSES of the mask detachable; but i feel like they're more likely to fall of #uhoh i think i did something wrong #i printed (or started to print at least) the domed mesh on the 3d printer instead of the specifically labeled resin printer. i don't have j #I don't have a resin printer #wow there's a lot of tags. okay #so many thoughts in my head apparently #eh whatever. hear about my 3d prints boy #there's an option to make a ventilated mask; or one without the vents at the front #the vents are just small cavities near the front of the mask #right near the nose / mouth would be #ohh it's actually lined up beautifully; it blends right into the webbing on the front of the face #face? mask? eh

The thing about getting into fanbinding is that I am now revisiting the waking nightmare that is printing fan fiction out on the family printer and having my parents look over my shoulder to see what I'm doing.

#small update post #long story very short: my mom passed away from cancer last week #she'd been sick for a few years but went into a sharp decline we weren't expecting #so everything is a mess with house & medical bills and family being here and all kinds of stuff #and i am also. a mess #idk if i'm going into an art hiatus or if when i manage to process everything i'll just want to Make Things #might open commissions like i'd been thinking about #definitely looking to set up a storefront for prints like i'd been meaning to for ages #idk when. probably when days stop blending together. hopefully soon #so yeah. hope you're all doing well. thanks for reading 🖤

I AM PRINT ON DEMAND I *NEED* TO BE ABLE TO PRINT MY ORDERS #so you'd think i need to realign my print heads. it prints out a bunch of rectangles and asks you which one is printed correctly #and it adjusts accordingly. except. All of them printed wrong. why is every issue im getting not covered by google #these are all really obscure fucking issues i guess #and nothing support is suggesting is working :( i think this printer might just be busted #on top of this i continue to suffer art block and not liking anything i make #HAHAHA I AM SO FUCKING STRESSED OUT!!!! one thing that sucks as a person who loves comics is how i like. can barely read text that has too many words bolded? like okay they do that thing in a lot of print comics (not as universal nowadays depending on the comic but still very common) where they strategically bold various words in basically every text bubble, i think it comes from when printing could get kind of messy and tiny in these little 10 cent superhero comic issues and bolding specific words for emphasis help get across what the character is saying even if there’s printing errors or its too small to read? its probably a great idea in practice but unfortunately im a fool and too many bolded words (more than like 1 or 2 a paragraph) mix up my head and then i just read Only the bolded words and also backwards for some reason?? comic text formatting can be mysterious at times.................

#just got a new phone because my old one was dying (possibly from being 6 years old. possible from me dropping it multiple times per day) #and first of all. phones are tall and big now. this bitch is a full inch and a half taller than my old one #WEIRD to get used to but now that i have all this screen space and the cpu power to handle it i started reading webcomics again #i stopped for a while cause i started only liking to read comics on a shitty phablet from 2012 that cant run its own built in browser #let alone webtoon or tapas or anything like that. drm comics only on that guy LOL #and while page-based comics i still prefer on my lovely shitty phablet #the scroll comics are not Horrendous on my new phone #(i think i would prefer it on my phablet still but unfortunately that thing doesnt have the computing power ;-; ) #sometimes a little small but mostly pretty good depending on the comic! #its interesting to get used to!! for a long time the only vertical long strip webcomics i had read were that one jumpscare comic #you know the one. also the comic Bastard (very good!! i really loved it) #i used to read webcomics religiously tho like before the long strip format got popular in the english speaking world #i LIVED on smackjeeves. i LIVED THERE. #anyway what im saying is i started reading more webcomics rather than just print manga and comics that were published 15 years ago #i started reading something called gourmet hound? very fun!! types of stories i like to read: very 00s shoujo manga #theres so many fun comics on this earth!!!!!!! i love comics!!!!!!!!!!! aaaa (explodes)
