General Pride Info: The Crawling Shadows
The pride who claims the most fervent dedication to the Souls and boasts the most strength. To live as a Crawling Shadows cat is to embrace the shadows around you and learn to become a shadow yourself. You are unafraid of battle and welcome the surge of strength that surges through your veins when you run alongside your pridemates.
For the Crawling Shadows, always conduct yourself with honesty and show respect to those around you. Obedience and loyalty are what make the pride strong and buck this is to weaken your entire pride.
---
Appearance
---
Afterthe Raging Wind, the Crawling Shadows are the smallest cats of the four prides. Their coats are thick but sleek, making them look smaller than usual. The few cats cursed with long or fluffy coats frequently struggle with tangles or knots when travelling through their own territory and can end up with bald-spots from the sheer amounts of scratching. A few cats are lucky enough to have long furred coats but with a sleek, oily over-coat that allows the water to slide right from them.
They're typically very long-legged with wide paws to aid them in traversing the constant dampness of the territories. With small ears and rounded eyes, some of the Crawling Shadows cats come off as either very odd or very soft looking.
Occasionally a Crawling Shadows cat is born with permanently circular pupils. It doesn't hurt them in any way and their eyes still dilate and shrink like normal eyes, they just don't slit when exposed to bright lights. As this is one of the traits of the Souls, this trait is considered to be evidence of divine heritage.
Patternwise, the Crawling Shadows take claim to having the most tortoiseshell of any pride and their colors stray towards muted. The Crawling Shadows colors are typically brown, black, olive, russet or a deep gray. The Crawling Shadows almost never produces predominantly white furred cats - the sires and dames of these cats are often accused of taking non-The Crawling Shadows mates unless there is evidence that the white is of a mutation (e.g. albinism).
The Crawling Shadows in general finds dark pelts with rounded eyes to be attractive alongside a series of scars that prove their ferocity.
---
Territory
---
The Crawling Shadows territory is primarily a swampy territory, a vast majority of the territory coated in sectors of shallow water. Only two sections of territory - one being the stretch of land that overlaps the border to the Roaring Thunder is completely dry and filled with stretching pine trees.
Outside this one section, the vast majority of the territory is covered in water grasses, cattails and short bushes. They host - proudly so - some of the most unique trees in the forest and are particularly proud of their mangroves, dogwood and cypresses that dapple their territory giving it an eerie or spooky look in the night from all the leaning trees.
Trespassers should be prepared to stalk through the shallow water - though it's not deep enough to swim in, shorter cats should be carried to prevent it from brushing their bellies.
While much of the water was too murky and muddy due to cats constantly passing through them, if you spoke to the Crawling Shadows they could show you to a variety of clear pools scattered in their territory. One popular places is Moonsoul's Pond - a beautiful little stretch of clear water that's filled with a variety of rare fish, lizards and waterfowl. Hunting in this pond is strictly forbidden during any time but properly announced celebrations led by their leader and monitored by a medic - preferable a prophet.
The Crawling Shadows camp is the second and only dry section of their territory. There's a muddy ring of wet plants and mushrooms surrounding the pride camp with a series of branches and brambles said to have been placed there by Slysoul herself to grant the Crawling Shadows protection and privacy from the outside world.
The Crawling Shadows have no set training ground, firmly believing that their apprentices should be able and willing to train in any part of their territory. At the very most is the Sunrod - a massive sycamore long since charred by lightning from Sunsoul that made the entire soft. The grass there is particularly soft and the Crawling Shadows apprentices are often instructed in their night hunting and stalking techniques here.
---
Prey
---
Common Prey: Frogs, minnows, toads, ducks and duck eggs
Uncommon Prey: Rats, voles, squirrels, swan eggs, crayfish
Rare Prey: Boar, deer, porcupine, skunk and swallows
With the Crawling Shadows territory being so damp all the time, there aren't many rodents that they can catch regularly. Those that are captured have usually been caught near the Roaring Thunder border or on the outskirts of the Crawling Shadows territory that begins to bleed into Rogue Lands.
Technically the Crawling Shadows could catch the various water snakes and boas that traverse the territory but it's considered a bit of a taboo to eat snakes. The Crawling Shadows are the most clever of prides and it's said that they learned their ambush tactics from Kassebera, one of Mouthfang's many children and the one most sympathetic to cats.
Kassebera had many children of her own and claimed all tree climbing snakes of a certain pattern to be her own and the Crawling Shadows swore they wouldn't eat them.
---
Battle Tactics
---
The Crawling Shadows rely heavily on stealth and ambush tactics - to the point that many of the Crawling Shadows generals will claim that no attack is worth making, if it can't be made without the enemy's knowledge. Being the creators of the Silent Signal System, the Crawling Shadows have a series of ranks and complex battle tactics that they refer to by code names in the presence of other prides.
The most well-known Crawling Shadows tactic is a wave camp ambush. The Crawling Shadows will send in one general with a series of smaller but fast and efficient warriors to whittle down on the enemy's strength and resistance. When these cats become visibly tired and start losing steam, the first wave signals to the second wave. The second wave is full of heavy-set and muscular cats to batter the enemy into submission.
During times of war, assassination squads will be sent out in teams of three to target key members of the enemy's assets. These cats are prepared to kill themselves or undergo any possible torture or hazing from the other prides while remaining silent about the plans and goals of the Crawling Shadows.
The Crawling Shadows don't quite understand why other prides deign to talk so much and would prefer to settle most disagreements with battle. They seem aggressive and violent due to always pushing for a fight with other prides as hey believe that to put might behind words is the best way to show your dedication to your cause.
---
Clan Specific Holidays
---
The Darkest Moon: The Crawling Shadows is highly loyal to Slysoul and Kassebera, thankful for all that these divine ones have done for them. As a result, every new moon the Crawling Shadows throws a celebration in their honor. They capture fireflies to bring to the center of the camp and release them all the moment the sun vanishes. This celebration is one of the few times that hunters are allowed to receive food from Moonsoul's Pond and divy it up among the pride. Young kits and apprentices are encouraged to swim in the pond so that they may absorb Moonsoul's blessings.
The First Snow: The Crawling Shadows celebrates the changing of Soul eras. The first snow marks the first day of a new year and the Crawling Shadows throws a delighted celebration welcoming the new Soul's presence. They recite stories that this Soul features in the most and feast upon food from Moonsoul's Pond. This celebration lasts all day and during the first light of dawn for the next day, the leader swears the Crawling Shadows's loyalty, love and dedication for this new era and promises to hold themselves in a way that would please the Soul.
---
Culture Quirks
---
Eating a snake - even in other territories - is bad luck and can anger Kassebera.
The Crawling Shadows were granted difficult territory to make them prove themselves to the Souls. Every season they survive is another mark of praise and approval from the Souls.
Being heavily superstitious, the Crawling Shadows cats will refuse to allow an owl to rest in a tree close to camp. It's said that if an owl rests close to camp overnight, it's a sign of famine to come.
Names are meant to be intimidating or scary to ward off evil spirits and Abominations. Therefore, "cruel" names were often snatched up quickly by the cats in question.
Offering a cat a bird of any type is seen as a declaration of love - familial or romantic. As non-water loving birds are hard to come by, it's a sign of intense dedication.

Very smol anger Cityspeaker makes it clear that even if she is a pacifist romantic, her headdress is a great place to hid little knives and she’s not above charming anyone who hurts her BFFs within stabbing zone. These little ‘tiger claw’ knives are known as Kerambit and are unique to the Minangkabau people (which Lightbright/Laila is part of, though she hails from Negri Sembilan in Malaysia which has a sizable diaspora rather than Sumatra)! Oftentimes women who were trained in Silat would keep these in their hair to whip out when needed.

Wanna know some things I found out about Danganronpa??
If not, scroll past—I apologize that this is probably gonna be a long post, but it's all under a read more so it *should* be fine.
Also, spoilers.
Basically, I wanted to find out about what order they stood in during class trials, and if there were any patterns to it. There are... at least a couple of patterns here.
This takes from Danganronpa 1, 2, and V3, otherwise known as Trigger Happy Havoc, Goodbye Despair, and Killing Harmony. Please note I never got to actually play the games (hi I’m broke), but I do at least know what happens in them (with my knowledge of Goodbye Despair being the most lacking of the three).
1- This is right in front of Monokuma. Those who stood here are Aoi Asahina, Mikan Tsumiki, and Tsumugi Shirogane. Patternwise, there isn’t much. They’re all pretty different! But they all seem to have a shtick (in one word: Donuts, Cries, Plain. This does disservice to poor Mikan, tho). Also, should have been a hint to Tsumugi being... YEAH but this really doesn’t mean much. Although, if you shift Asahina to second and put the first one as the “empty” stand in the game, then it’s all filled with fairly insane women. All women regardless.
2- to the right of 1, or to our left, we have Mondo Owada, Nagito Komaeda, and Korekiyo Shinguji. Ignoring Mondo, we have the match made in hell that is Komaeda and Shinguji, or as I like to call them, Crazy Lucky and Folklore Cunt. Everyone in this spot has died, and if we count Komaeda as a blackened, then they’re all blackened. Also, all boys.
3- Kyoko Kirigiri, Ibuki Mioda, Angie Yonaga. Ignoring Kyoko (you’ll note a lot of ignoring of the first ones, don’t mind it too much), we have some pretty, ah, positive? *energetic* characters. They’re all pretty interesting characters too!! If you play the first game for the bad end, the ones in this spot die. But, again, if you play the correct end, then Kyoko is safe, and the ones in this spot are victims. They’re also usually convienient or circumstantial victims (again, ignore Kyoko). Another set of just girls.
4- Sakura Ogami, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu, Maki Harukawa. This is a spot for some SCARY, but usually secretly at least a little nice and kind of soft, characters. These are the ones that are tough as nails and definitely could (and even might) kill you, whether by their own hands or another’s. However, none of these characters have been exactly murdered (although Sakura doesn’t exactly LIVE and Kuzuryu does get injured).
5- Uh. “Junko Enoshima”, Akane Owari, Ryoma Hoshi. These are. Well. It’s a wild card. Put whoever here, but they better have SOME kind of affect on others. Two of them die, and one of them has a failed execution. Two of them directly defy Monokuma, and the third pretty much let themselves die as a victim. So...
6- Kiyotaka Ishimaru, Gundam Tanaka, Kirumi Tojo. This is an intense sort of set, although Kirumi is intense in a... different sort of way. These tend to be characters that help take care of others in some way, and they all die generally with the goal to help someone out, in some way. Ignoring Ishimaru, these guys might be gothic in some way. The ones here may have good intentions but might’ve gotten a little lost on the way. They also tend to have interesting moral codes and understandings of ‘right’ and ‘wrong’.
7- Sayaka Maizono, Hiyoko Saionji, Kaito Momota. These tend to be optimistic characters with a hidden (or not so hidden) morally grey or outright “bad” side. They might be good people, they might not be, but they usually die (two in an interesting turn of events).
8- This is the Ahoge Club. This is where the main characters are. We should have never been surprised in V3 once the trial started, but ah well. Here are Makoto Naegi, Hajime Hinata, and Shuichi Saihara. The ahoge boys here are all protags, and all live. Their ideas of hope, of right or wrong... well, that’s up in the air, and maybe in the opinion of the person playing. (But if you’re making a fanfic or a fan game or what not, this is where your protag stands—it right across from Monokuma!)
9- Hifumi Yamada, Mahiru Koizumi, Miu Iruma. All victims, although two of them are a taaaaad more complex than ‘just victims’. Highly opinionated people. But also creative! Gosh this is starting to sound like a zodiac post, or one of those posts where it’s like ‘traits of different drinks, tag which one you are’. (which danganronpa trial, where you either find the culprit or die, stand are YOU??)
10- Toko Fukawa, Kazuichi Soda, Kiibo (K1-B0). These all make it to the final mastermind trial! They generally have some sort of thing that makes it harder for them to interact with others. These are emotional characters, generally. They all have some strange quirks about them, but are generally (when not taken over by, say, alternate personalities or controlled by an audience or something silly like that!) good people... goodish people.
11- Leon Kuwata, Peko Pekoyama, Tenko Chabashira. Athletic! They all die. Although, usually with certain circumstances involved. Of them, two of them have someone they’d be willing to die (or kill) for. And they do!! (I almost feel bad for Leon on this one.) They also had some kind of ‘locked room’ aspect, or more accurately, some kind of particular trick (and two of them had a sort of ‘signature’ to either their own death or to the person they killed) to their cases that helped crack it open once discovered (door knob, sword care seESAW). I think blood helped all, if not just two, figure out the actual killer in their cases. They also all had someone explicitly pointed to as the culprit in their case who was NOT the culprit.
12- Celestia Ludenberg, Teruteru Hanamura, Kokichi Ouma. The trio of liars (although much more notably Celestia and Kokichi). They all die, and it’s usually a very, VERY convoluted case (less so for Teruteru though). Do you want a headache? Hey it’s these guys! Although they can also be very INTERESTING characters. (Again, Teruteru tends to draw the short straw, whoops.) I’d say Celestia and Kokichi are match made in hell, but seriously that title belongs to Crazy Lucky and Folklore Cunt. T r u s t m e. It’s still not a great match and I definitely want it to not happen (and if it did I’d cry and eat popcorn watching it—actually I think they meet in, like, some kind of bonus mode for V3... might need to look that up later).
13- Byakuya Togami, Sonia Nevermind, Himiko Yumeno. The Scholar, The Princess, The Mage. Ever thought 13 was unlucky? Wrong! These all live. Like. Through the *entire game*. Excluding Himiko (wow, excluding V3 for once!), these are more fine society folks, although they all tend to have strange or occult interests of some kind. They tend to be smart in some way, probably, and might have interesting ideas of what happened. They might also say strange or otherwise “out of turn” things. But they live!! Somehow!! How did no one murder Togami!!
14- Chihiro Fujisaki, Nekomaru Nidai, Kaede Akamatsu. All of you die, how unfortunate. Usually a somehow sacrificing character, and probably died with the best intentions of the group at heart. And this is why Kaede didn’t stay the Protagonist. But these characters are all caring characters (although usually in their own ways). So if you ARE making content, and you have that sweet cinnamon roll you’re going to viciously kill in horrifying ways, this is an option for you!
15- Yasuhiro Hagakure, Chiaki Nanami, Gonta Gokuhara. The cinnamon roll you put here might not die, but if you’re looking for a place to make a cinnamon roll murder, then this is the place for you! Yasuhiro actually lives, though, so there is that. The ones here might not have the best fate in store for them, unfortunately. But! They are the kind of innocent, generally secretly wise kind. Generally. They might not get along totally with their classmates, not necessarily by faults of their own (although, avoiding Yasuhiro is,,,, understandable). These characters have their shtick and they stick to it, golly gosh darn it. Also, they might not quite seem to ‘fit’ with their talent (Yasuhiro is kinda a conman despite having actual clairvoyance, Chiaki is a sleepy girl, and Gonta is by far my favorite but oh gosh he is a terrifyingly large man who cares for tiny, TINY insects). These characters are smart, but in independent, potentially obscure ways. They might also be gullible. They also might be lacking a major part of ‘common’ knowledge. ... I wrote more about these guys than intended, ha.
16- “Empty”, “Byakuya”, Rantaro Amami. These characters are NOT who they say they are, generally. There’s quite a bit of mystery to these guys!! Unfortunately, they’re always gone (or, in Empty’a case, hiding) before the first trial even begins (and have twice been the first victim). This spot is basically the first victim spot, so it has yet to ever actually have someone stand in it (maybe it’s cursed, maybe it’s *convenience*).
In short! The first ones are usually ones to watch out for, second one has some nutty (or at least intense) characters that will die in some actually insane way, third is for some misunderstood characters, fourth are the intense scary ones that will not be killed by mortal hands other than their own, fifth is for some. INTERESTING characters. Sixth is for some more interesting characters, serious and caretaking type that will definitely die edition. Seventh has some morality issues and will ALSO die probably DUE to those morality issues, eigth has our Ahoge Squad, Nineth is the very blunt victim squad. Tenth is for making it to at least the last trial with some quirky quirks, eleventh is for more definitely dying with a blade likely involved even though you are athletic and YOU KNOW BETTER, twelfth is for liars and dying, thirteenth is if you wanna live. Fourteenth is being a good person and not really deserving the death you got, fifteenth is for unusual but interesting/unique intelligence folks. And sixteenth is for if you never even made it to the trial grounds in the first trial.
And there! That’s it!! Take this! I want a nap! Tell me if you find any other patterns!!

This orange tabby cat’s entire underside, feet, and most of its tail appear white or whited. The white on this cat doesn’t look like a white spotting pattern and instead resembles a horse pattern known as pangaré or mealy. Most tabbies (whether brown/black, grey/blue, chocolate, lilac, cinnamon, fawn, orange/ginger, or cream/buff) don’t have that white or whited an underside or feet.
One reason I think that this cat appears to have a feline version of pangaré is because in white spotting, the delineation between the base color and the white areas is sharp whereas in pangaré, the delineation between the base color and the white or lighter areas is gradated or smooth. Another reason I think this cat appears pangaré instead of white spotted is that unless there is a little white tail tip, white spotting doesn’t cover any part of the tail except for Grade 9 patterns.
I’ve heard that many solid grey cats appear to have lighter muzzles and toes but what could explain this cat’s pattern and mostly white tail?
This mealy or pangaré appearance appears to be easier to achieve on a tabby than on a solid colored cat as solid colored cats, even dilute ones, don’t usually have lighter colored undersides whereas tabbies usually do. So, do you think that Spiderleg in the Warriors series would be more realistic patternwise if he were a tabby?
This otherwise short-haired cat also appears to have a medium-haired feathered tail. What could explain that trait?
Horse pattern descriptions do not work for cats. Some patterns can originate from the same or similar genes, but it is foolish to apply terminology from one species to another when you don’t know for sure the genetic origin.
Also, I don’t know where you heard that a white-spotted cat cannot have a white tail tip. While it’s true that a cat’s whole tail will typically not be white unless it has quite high-grade white spotting, just the tip being white is reasonably common at lower grades (it’s often seen with tuxedo patterns, for instance).
But to answer your question about this cat, though, you’re right, he does not look to have white spotting. He looks like a red silver tabby (sometimes called a “cameo tabby”). I have no idea whether the silver gene in cats is in any way similar to the mealy/pangaré gene in horses, but that’s largely irrelevant anyway.
Silver is associated with being a tabby (a solid cat with the silver gene will end up smoke instead), so you’re right that this is more common among tabbies, but silver patterns don’t suddenly make Spiderleg remotely possible, tabby or not. Silver causes the cat’s fur to be white with colored tips; this would not make a black cat with a brown belly any less impossible. Golden tabbies, where the fur is honey/pale apricot with colored tips, exist (and are VERY rare), but this would result in that cat looking golden-colored with black stripes (or spots or whatever), not with a cat being black with a brown belly.

Toile of sleeves of outfit 1
Turned out smaller than it looks like in CLO.
Next phase: enlarge it, make it more boxy & geometrical! Also the second layer!
The slit in the longer sleeve needs to be looked at patternwise
