So Lion Brand Yarn, one of the biggest names in acrylic yarn in the United States, just posted AI generated images with tags as disclaimers and credit the “artist”
To say I am disappointed is an understatement but that disappointment turned to anger quickly as the social media team responded to concerns with dismissive comments or emojis.
I left this thread where I basically respectfully told them that they should not post ai images and continue to show case fiber artists including those who make huge projects. They responded with since they tagged it as AI and feature fiber artists daily it’s ok. I responded back that most people don’t read captions on social media and it is disrespectful to many artists including those 16000 that had their art stolen by midjouney.
My comments and others voicing dissent were removed

my beloved (derogatory) devil yarn blanket - when you learn that lion brand homespun is beautiful and soft and EVIL
after several failures, i made this by feel >:(
and yeah. it is super soft and has lovely drape and looks gorgeous but i will never work with that yarn again!! no matter how seductive the colorway!!!

I never posted my market bag pattern? Huh. The crochet bottom makes it extra sturdy, and you can tuck things into the handle like chapstick or rolled up cash 👍🏻

I was so curious how this lovely black and white yarn would look. Curiosity sated. Looks messy. But if you want some tv static. Here ya go.

Here's a quick project I worked up while I had COVID a couple weeks ago. Fast to dress and weave as a palette cleanser from the frustration of the Christmas towels.
I used knitpicks Dishie cotton yarn sett at 8epi for two hand towels and a washcloth. I bought the yarn originally for some Purlsoho knitted dish towels, but found it to be a little too heavy and absorbent. Like, they got wet and stayed wet.
Tin Tiles dishtowel by Purlsoho in Dishie Kenai:
It was a fun challenge to calculate what I could make with what I had-- all I've got left now is 34g of the orangey brown.
Here they are right off the loom!
And washed up:
I used the draft I designed for the first project I did on my own, which was lionbrand Touch of Linen sett at 10epi. I really like them, they're wonderfully soft and drapey. I'll probably make a separate post for the stuff I've made with the Touch of Linen yarn.
And here are the samples I made with the Yarnworker sampling looms I got for Christmas! Blue fringe is 12 epi, orange is 8. You can see I also played around with different fringes-- I don't really like the way regular fringe looks and twisted fringe takes a long fucking time. I'm interested in like a knotted macrame sort of situation but I think I need to actually look up how to do it instead of just making it up lol

Look at that yarn? I did not expect so much pink, but pink it is. I rather like it.
I've often wondered if the Eye of the Partridge pattern could be carried from the heel flap to the heel turn, reinforcing the bottom, too. Seemed sensible, but would it be comfortable? If I' reading my pattern correctly that's what this sock calls for, so here it is. I think it's lovely.
Will it be comfortable? I hope so, but Therin has a lot of socks right now. If they can't wear these because of this technique, they won't be barefoot!

Tyler please stop forgetting to post what you make, otherwise you have to post multiple times.
3 things I've made. I finished the shawl that came out looking like the trans flag (Lion Brand - Ice cream - Cake Batter), one that looked like Chrismas (LoveCraft - Paintbox ) and finished a scarf (Hobbii - Hurricane)
Whilst posting this, I'm currently making another shawl.

finished object time!!!! :]
i made this continuous granny square blanket using about 3 lion brand mandala cakes (i believe in the colorways dragon, kraken, and sphinx, except i cut out the red of sphinx). was a lovely project for sitting and watching movies (nausicaä of the valley of the wind, star trek: the motion picture, and star trek II: the wrath of khan) and mindlessly crocheting :)
it's a bit smaller than i hoped (3'x3') but it's a great lap blanket and accent on my bed!! i've already started another continous granny square blanket, but just using stash yarn and changing color every row.
i loved watching the colors flow in this, even though they get a bit choppy by the end. i love the little quirks in this blanket so much, was very fun and comforting to work on :) plus it's a nice light weight for springtime!!
[ID:
Five photos of a crocheted continuous granny square blanket. The yarn colors blend into each other as the blanket grows. The colors consist of brown, greens, blues, teals, and yellows. Four photos are of the blanket folded, and one is me holding it up full-size. ]

Almost done with the blanket! It will be ready in a few days~
Here is my attempt to block it.
I couldn't find the right pins, so I used some rust-proof needles (≧▽≦)
I've never properly blocked anything before, so I hope it turns out well.
I read some reviews that Lion Brand Coboo stretches over time. I'm not too worried since this is a blanket. In the future, I'll avoid making any fitted garments with it to be safe.
More valuable knowledge gained!

First attempt at a bucket hat, based loosely (like, loosely) on this pattern.
It’ll be a long slouchy man
