current favorite album: this is a tough one since i feel like i've been listening to a lot more playlists than albums recently, but marvin gaye's what's going on has been sticking out to me a lot. the album at its core is about love and hope - love and hope for humanity, for the world, and for what could be. it's an album that has these two things deeply embedded into it, and it's all in the face of the many issues in gaye's personal life, in america, and in the world as a whole at the time it was created. it's a love and hope that i aspire to carry with me in the current world we live in. not to mention that it's so sonically pleasing, and i love its social commentary. okay, i think i blabbed on for long enough about it!

favorite song off the album: another hard question! almost all of the songs are incredible to me, but i think the most memorable one to me might be "mercy mercy me (the ecology)," a song that comments on pollution and environmental destruction. it's a sad song, but one filled with love for the planet.

current favorite song: i truly don't know! i guess i'll put two songs by two of my favorite artists instead. the first is "when memories snow" by mitski. it's one of my favorites off of her newest album! the other is "someday (i will understand)" by britney spears, a beautiful song that i just can't seem to shake.

The other girls (there are about fifteen of them, all pushed into this tiny room) avoid looking at her arm, or if they can, her in general, (the last that one did look at her arm, a littler one, maybe about nine, she threw up — it's still there, rotting in the corner of the room, — so Splint assumes that her arm probably looks awful, she honestly can't bring herself to look) but they're still confined to sharing a bed with her, often, the girl on her right shifts so that her arm rubs against the sheets, causing her stomach to lurch.
