The pity in his friends eyes would kill him, and it’s not like he’d even deserve it anyway.  ▴ What he doesn’t deserve however, is the insufferable Hufflepuff Head Boy who keeps following him around like some crazed stalker after they made out ONCE when Sky got caught in the very restricted area of the library. That’ll teach him not to look for ‘how to stay awake forever’ spells.  ▴ As if one irritating Hufflepuff wasn’t enough in his life, now Sky has another. One who keeps bringing him food even though school dinners are free, conveniently finding him in the halls so they can walk to Sky’s next class together, softly reminding him to sleep when it’s obviously hasn’t, and asking if he’s okay when it’s clear he’s not.  ▴ Sky begs him to stop. Over and over. But hopes more than anything he doesn't.

Wow. Just wow.

It's going to take me a while to process the whole thing, and I'll probably have to do a whole series rewatch at some point to help ground some things, but wow.

The accuracy of Prapai and Sky's arc has been good so far, but today it was beyond. That expression on Prapai's face when Sky is telling him the whole story? That's the face my husband made when I told him about my CSA and SA. He held my hand the whole time, made sure I knew he was there for me. All four leads in this series have done a great job. Even the villains did. The dialogues, the emotions, the unspoken words. The script was painfully accurate. The coaching the cast received was excellent.

I know there's the running joke by some that there's no plot. There's no grand story, and to an extent that's true. Because it's not a grand arc. It's a story of the small moments, the things we want vs need, the things we keep silent and how we open up.

PLEASE, read the trigger warnings before watching this show. If you feel you cannot do it alone, don't. If you need to watch it, buddy watch. This episode is very hard to get through.

TRIGGER WARNING!!! BLOOD!!!!

I’m so in love with the angst haha.

So I drew a lot of Future!Lita lol.

I wanted to draw just Lita, by herself, just for practice purposes to learn the character, but then my mind was like, “Nah, imma do my own thing”, and draw a bunch of angst of her HAHA. To kinda explain, when Casey was born, (where he is holding him), she lost his sister Venus weeks later, then when the two are crying it is because Cassandra died, and his d*ath consecutively.

By the way!, I forgot to mention that both, the sisters, are kemp sea turtles, only that Lita is an albino to follow the canon. I’m so looking forward to make a comic to explain my own version of all of them haha.

(I have been having a lot this kinda side story of the comic where Yuichi also sings, (besides being a battle nexus champion), and is trying to become a musician, and mets Leonardo when he was trying to sing for Hueso’s restaurant when the musician didn’t show up, (he was singing “Fantasmas" of Humbe, in Spanish of course haha), and I just can’t leave that thought ahhhh).

Don’t hold your breath on UWMA. I personally didn’t enjoy it at alI, skipped pretty much all of it in its entirety apart from the Winteam scenes. But, I hope you have a different experience!

The first half of love in the air wasn’t really for me, I started watching during the second half of the series and reluctantly went back to the first half just for context purposes, but the second half saved the show massively. The story line gets incredibly dark at some points, (if you want to know trigger warnings beforehand, let me know) but I promise you the endgame is worth it. Pai and Sky are one of my all time favourite bl pairings. I simply adore them. The chemistry between Fortpeat is insane. Overall, the storyline was executed so beautifully.

Also, if you want another bl recommendation for after LITA, I would put Not Me on the top of your list. It’s fantastic, the acting is insanely good, the story is powerful and hard hitting, and the chemistry between every single member of the ensemble cast is beautiful. Plus, Gun Attaphan and First Kanaphan are some of the best actors I’ve seen to date.

LITA Episode 12 Trigger Warnings

Give a big shout out, thank you to @notfreetoday Beyond this point will be spoilers so that people can prepare for triggers.

First flashback around 21:33 - 22:23 Not graphic, but Sky believes he's being left again and cries about it

Phone convo between Sky's Ex, Gun and his friend at 24:46-25:30 They explicitly talk about Gun giving Sky away and the SA is heavily implied. Most triggering up till 25:12, but between 25:12 - 25:30 Gun hints that he "trained" Sky and that also makes me sick, so I timestamped the whole convo.

44:37 - 45:17, Sky talks a little about what his ex-did to him. He's not able to talk about the SA yet, but he talks about Gun trying to brainwash him.

After the end credits is more of broken Sky crying

and then THE WHOLE OF THE NEXT EPISODE PREVIEW IS TRIGGERING. It shows Gun kidnapping Sky, it looks like a gang again, and Gun burns Sky.

I go kind of old school but these songs make me imagine moments when the body is going through a high and dissociating.

Big Brother and the Holding Company, Janis Joplin- ball and chain ( that guitar solo in the middle is powerful) makes me imagine a person losing themselves to the “high.” Luke and Owen, specifically Owen when he puts the drugs into Luke and Luke’s mind goes blank.

Sixto Rodriguez- Sugar man (drugs offer a false escapism for Luke)

The Runaways (Lita Ford)- Johnny Guitar song is kinda controversial cause the runaways didn’t want to do it, but I love it. I can imagine Luke in a room filled with people who are puffing smoke and Owen is there and he’s getting Luke into harder drugs.

Usually I shuffle around with the old school stuff when it comes to Aemond mainly because he’s much more mature in a certain sense compared to most people his age. Meanwhile for Luke I gravitate more towards the Lana Del Rey’s and Mitski’s when choosing his themes. However these recs are so fitting and I can’t believe i’ve never looked into this vibe for him now that I’m listening!

Everything about Johnny Guitar nails the vibe of every place Owen’s ever dragged Luke to. The crowd is much older, people are buying sex and doing drugs Luke himself has never even imagined taking part in, and the air is so foggy to the point where it hurts to keep his eyes open. Owen offering to place a small pill on his tongue, Luke’s heart starts racing frantically along with the drums as it increases to the point where the only thing he can hear is his blood pumping. The moment he caves in and swallows is when the beat reverts back to its slow and steady pace.

Also, I can see Sugar man being whats playing in the background when Luke’s resolve crumbles and gets high for the first time in a long time. Finally walking back into the arms of what he feels will keep him from falling off the deep end in grief when in reality, that happened the moment all his memories came flowing back.

Story Number Three That I've Been Plotting But May Never Write:

Trigger warning for Gun (the character in LITA) stuff in the beginning: Rain is taken by Gun, with the intention of being his new Plaything. There he meets Sky- a glassy eyed 19 year old who doesn't seem to have any fight left in him. And if Rain wasn't freaked out enough already, it turns out that the man who kidnapped him is a /fucking vampire/!

Something inside Sky *snaps* when Gun almost beats Rain to death for fighting back. He attacks Gun and flees with Rain. He bites Rain in order to save him. The story picks up during the 'First Year' at architecture school. Rain is still a fledgling without fangs, Sky feeds him like a baby bird. They've moved cities because Sky knows that Gun must still be out there and still be pissed. Rain's Mama knows what they are and moves to Bangkok to help with Their Story. She loves her son, and only wants him safe. and then the main story of LITA happens except it's not Rain getting horny/subby and not understanding what is happening- it's that when Phayu gets all dominate with Rain- Rain starts popping fangs and freaking out because he's never popped fangs before. Cue the 'He's going to make me fall in love with him.. but does he know what kind of man that I am?' scene played entirely straight where Phayu *knows* Rain is a vampire, Rain thinks he's hiding this from Phayu *super well*, and Phayu is still like 'ah yes, he's a lil vamp but does he Know What Kind Of Person I Am.'

okay so i've watched 11 episodes of LITA in 3 days and have much thoughts/comments to share

this post is technically for @skamskada (coz you would just NOT stop sending me pics of payu person in my DMs [♥️] and that's what made me finally watch the show....and...this would be too long for our chats lol) but all y'all can give it a try too! <3

(i love when nunew sang in the series...also..it made sense in the plot..and he has an angelic voice...umm...same with nanon in bad buddy...i didn't cringe at his singing...and ofc jeff and barcode were also fine in kp....all these guys are singers irl anyway and them singing fit the plot of their respective series....but i don't think i'd be able to handle anyone else singing in bl series) payu person sings well though! maybe if he has uploaded some covers etc on youtube i could listen to those??!! does he sing sing?

also...unpopular opinion maybe but i feel payu person needs some more acting practice when it comes to emotions like anger or frustration, etc. he...seemed to struggle to convey it convincingly with his eyes and dialogue delivery and body language...but this is a personal opinion

rain person acts well! he's got all emotions pat down...and he portrays cuteness and annoyingness very convincingly

sky person acts SO well....whenever he's triggered i can't stop myself from crying i feel A LOT for him :(((( and i LOVE it when he's not giving any fucks to Pai lol! and when he turns it on OMG IT IS MOTHERFUCKING ON

i love sky person's eyes <3 they are.....such a pretty colour...esp when the sunlight hits them in the scene where pai-sky are by the side of the road after they've had breakfast (me being struck by sky person's eye colour reminded me of me being struck by brian kinney's [or gale harold actually lol] eyes in the light...and ....it intrigued me so much! i also ABSOLUTELY love misha's and jensen's respective eye colours and cillian murphy's eyes too uuuufff AND luca marinelli's eyes...wowoowowwow)

the sex scenes were AWESOME!!! the moans, the dialogue, the looks, the MOVEMENTS, brilliant brilliant brilliant! very very special shoutout to 2 lines: a) payu saying "i'll make you the best rider" in episode 6 sex scene and b) sky saying "p'pai hurry up" in episode 11 sex scene....THE WAY THESE DIALOGUES WERE DELIVERED AND THE NEEEEEEDDDDD DRIPPING FROM EVERY SYLLABLE UUUUFFFFF (i have gone back and listened to these 2 lines in particular many many times...they just do it for me)

ngl i'm very invested in the pai-sky storyline but if a short scene of payu-rain comes in the episode i'm suddenly hit by how much i miss seeing them!

i really like the actor who plays Sig...he generally plays comic relief characters? he was in cutie pie too...I REALLY LIKE HIM....it seems he improvises a lot and is very competent at it...he can pick up on the energy of the scene and the dynamics of the characters and fits himself into it SO WELL (and sometimes also takes the lead in navigating a scene...like the thread tying ceremony) not intrusive but also leaves a lasting impression....also..his face is nice :) if i'm not wrong i think he's starring in an upcoming sci-fi bl as a lead! good for him...well deserved <3

i like the siblings....payu's brother saifah and pai's younger siblings too...they're sweet

the sound editing of the series is....so bad! omg i can hear every movement of the shirt and sometimes the voices get low and sometimes loud like what is happening oh no..it's annoying :(

as an armpit enthusiast (among others) i'm also very disappointed by the lack of armpit exposure...i have found only 3 scenes with decent full armpit exposure...i'm hoping this will get rectified in the remaining episodes (how many are there in total anyway? 14?)

i haven't watched any reality content of the LITA boys but you've told me time and again that payu person is really cute.....<333

i'll maybe slowly make my way through all that stuff...i think i'll enjoy watching all of them

I've seen women say how during the 2000's, they had eating disorders and body image issues due to Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and even Keira Knightly, low rise jeans, I even saw someone in the comments section to a "Girls Gone Wild" video say she had body image issues as a young girl because of those infomercials and she felt like she had to look like them to be beautiful.

Trigger warning, I wonder if there were any women who were young girls or women in the late 1990's and throughout the 2000's who had body image issues, eating disorders and depression because they wanted to be WWE/F divas and wrestlers, yet during the World Wrestling Federation's Attitude era and WWE's Ruthless Aggression era the women who were the most beloved and got the most and loudest cheers were beautiful, Caucasian, petite blonds like Sable, Debra, Trish Stratus, Torrie Wilson, Stacy Keibler, and Sunny, with a few exceptions like Lita.

And worse, I wonder if there were any young girls who felt ugly and terrible because they felt like they had to be beautiful and oversexualized and have their clothes ripped off and do bikini contests just to get the most "pops" (cheers by wrestling fans in audience) and loved, basically get cheered for being a sex object, rather than get cheered for their talent.

Review: Big Dragon

Year: 2022 Country: Thailand Platform: iQiyi Big Dragon managed to get under my skin in the most spectacular of ways. There are flaws in the writing, but in ways I’ve come to expect out of Thai dramas (they weren’t fundamental and structural like in the case of LITA) and I’ve elaborated on them elsewhere.

While the characters *are* in college, that fact is almost incidental to the plot, it affects them in that it has impacts on their decisions and futures but doesn’t feature prominently in their lives and also - importantly, for me - does not force this story to feel ‘young’ (which is why I often don’t care for college age stories and flat out refuse to watch high school ones). The characters actually feel like adults - with responsibilities and jobs and a certain maturity level - albeit young adults still figuring themselves out but still adult. They aren’t glorified adolescents, inept and inexperienced. (except for in the areas they *are* inept and inexperienced but those feel characteristically relevant).

Yai is the scion of a rich family, in his last year of college and responsible for managing his family’s nightclub. Mangkorn is a brilliant, award winning Architecture student finishing his last year of study which includes a professional internship. The two are known playboys and rivals who clash when they pursue the same woman and through a just barely plausible series of events (trigger warning for dubcon and drugging) wind up in bed together which presents its own host of issues they must then work though.

Like I said earlier, there *are* parts of the writing that don’t work for me, in particular how their relationship is presented/ built. However, I do feel their characterizations were refreshing in the drama landscape. I enjoyed their particular brand of dysfunction and toxicity.

The actors are delightful, MosBank providing some of my favorite off-camera shipwork in the BL landscape, and I do hope for a second season as I feel the characters have more growth before I feel the audience can truly feel good leaving them, especially as this show is only 8 episodes.

I do, also appreciate, the way sex is treated in this show, not as a vehicle for titillation but as a true mechanism for exploring these characters and the relationship dynamic between them (though yes, there is significant titillation) Remarkably this wound up being one my favorites this year and garnered a few rewatches.
