Author’s Notes: I really really hope you guys enjoy this one...I hope it’s as cathartic to read as it was to write. :)
I decided to start this next bit under a new title. The parts for the last one were getting excessive, and also this way even if my plans for the rest of it don’t work out, 12C is a complete thought.
As for the ‘escape plan’, I had more details of it in my mind but as I was writing it they felt...boring? So I cut the crap and kept it simple. Just trust that there was a plan and I’m just not a good enough writer to make it interesting. Besides, I wanted to get to the cute shit. :))
----
“You’re sure you know the plan?”
“Yes.”
“And...you’re sure you’re strong enough?”
“...I have to be.”
“That isn’t a yes.”
A huff lacking any real frustration. “Yes, Liv.”
“Okay. Two nights from now. Hang in there.”
----
The wheels of Liv’s cart are loud as they roll down the empty hallway, muffling out her sneakered footsteps. The sound also muffles her half-full water bottle falling from one of the shelves with a smack, and even if it weren’t for the cart, she’s got her headphones on, music turned up loud.
Liv comes to a stop at the door to the storage room. It’s unlocked, like always. She holds the door open with one hand and pushes her cart in halfway with the other. It’s then that she ‘notices’ her bottle down the hall, several yards away. Frustrated, she leaves the cart where it is and trudges to go pick it up.
When she returns, she only spends a couple of minutes in the storage room, restocking a few cleaning supplies so she won’t have to tomorrow. As she leaves the room and continues down the hall, she gives no indication that her cart has suddenly become heavier.
She gets into the elevator and heads upstairs to finish her final tasks of the night. This includes disposing of the garbage and hazardous waste she’s gathered throughout the night, putting utensils in a machine to be sanitized, and dumping linens from a hamper down a chute into a laundry room.
“Curl up tight,” she whispers as she tips the hamper. There’s a soft thud as more than just sheets and towels slide down the chute.
Liv finishes putting her things away, puts the papers from her clipboard in a file folder outside her manager’s door, uses the bathroom, and finally clocks out and heads to the parking garage. Calm, collected, seemingly lost in her music.
Heart pounding. Thoughts racing. Hopeful and terrified.
Her old but beloved little car sits alone on this floor of the dimly lit concrete garage. She throws her things into the passenger side before sitting heavily with a sigh in the driver’s seat. After a moment she turns on the car and begins the winding path up towards the exit.
As she rounds a bend she slows down a little...and remains slow for several moments until she hears her back door open and shut and a rustling as someone lies across the seat and burrows under a waiting blanket. She picks up her speed again, rolling down her window so she can swipe her ID card to get out.
Liv drives into the dark of night. It’s just past two in the morning, the roads empty, the traffic lights in town all blinking yellow. From the back seat she can hear weak, muffled breaths. When she looks at her rearview mirror, she can just make out the bundled heap trembling by the light of street lamps.
She waits until she’s a couple miles beyond the facility’s property before speaking, her voice hoarse from how dry her throat is.
“You okay back there?”
“...not sure,” comes Emmeline’s answer, fear and exhaustion palpable in her voice. “Do you think they saw anything?”
“If we did everything right, no...but I guess we’ll find out.”
Liv puts on an air of confident nonchalance that is so far from how she feels, but it’s for Emmeline’s sake. The risks have become so much more than a slap on the wrist. If they’re caught Liv will be fired and almost certainly arrested for theft of company ‘property’. But Emmeline...not only will she have to go back there, but she’ll be kept under such tight lock and key that any second chance of escape would be impossible, and Liv would no longer be there to even try.
This was their one shot, and all Liv can do is try to keep her panic at bay and hope they didn’t screw it up.
And take care of Emmeline, she thinks, glancing again at the mirror.
The drive home takes its predictable twenty minutes, give or take a few. Liv pulls into her spot beside a nondescript brick apartment building and shuts off her car. She closes her eyes and gives herself a moment to breathe and pull her thoughts together.
It’s quiet from the back.
“Are you awake?”
“Mmhmm…”
That translates to barely.
“Not much further...then you can rest…”
The weight of that statement is too much for Liv’s tired mind to truly process, but it still briefly occurs to her just how big it is, just what it means. For the first time in months, Emmeline can finally, truly rest.
She goes to the back seat and helps Emmeline to her feet. Emmeline remains resolutely wrapped from neck to ankles in the blanket. Despite it being the old, scratchy one Liv keeps in her car in case of emergency, to Emmeline it’s so much more than she’s been allowed.
Standing there barefoot in the parking lot, Emmeline slowly looks up at Liv, strands of limp, messy hair hanging around her face. The single light on the side of the building illuminates her drawn face and although she’s weak, malnourished, exhausted...there is a grateful reverence in her eyes that no matter what happens, Liv will never forget.
Liv swallows and pushes down the lump in her throat. “Come on,” she whispers, putting her arm around Emmeline’s blanket-clad shoulders and guiding her towards the door.
----
Her apartment is tidier than usual; Liv made sure of that, even though she’s pretty sure Emmeline won’t care. Considering where she has spent the last several months, a jail cell would seem like an upgrade. But if Liv is anything, she’s self-conscious.
Emmeline looks around, blinking blearily after having barely made it up the single flight of stairs. She’s swaying on her feet and Liv ushers her to sit on the couch before she passes out right there in the middle of the living room.
Liv is running on adrenaline and fumes at this point. It’s all too surreal, like an out of body experience. Even after long hours spent thinking and planning, she never expected to get this far. But now Emmeline is here, in her apartment, sitting on her couch. Existing outside of the lab, real and tangible.
And she needs you. Get it together.
“I know you probably want to sleep,” Liv begins. Emmeline is still looking around the room like she can’t quite believe it either. “But you haven’t eaten, so...I want to get something in you first, if that’s okay?”
“Okay,” Emmeline whispers.
Liv moves slowly to the kitchen and busies herself with preparing something light and easy: canned soup, crackers, a mug of herbal tea with honey. Like in the car, she allows herself a moment to take a few deep breaths and will her hands to stop shaking before she picks up the plastic tray and carries the food back into the living room.
Emmeline hasn’t moved an inch, not even to relax back against the couch cushions. It isn’t quite what Liv expected...but then, what did she expect? For everything to be better the moment they got here? It isn’t all going to be okay overnight, she realizes. Give her time.
“Here…” Liv sets the tray on the coffee table and sits at the edge of the couch, leaving a few inches between them, not wanting to crowd Emmeline. “Um - chicken noodle soup. Saltines. Chamomile vanilla tea.”
Emmeline blinks slowly at the items before her. “I’m not dreaming. Right?”
“I hope not. Eating canned soup in my apartment isn’t a very exciting dream.”
A faint smile appears on Emmeline’s face. “To me it is…”
Liv holds the bowl of soup while Emmeline eats small spoonfuls of it and nibbles on crackers. She only eats about half before moving on to the tea, cupping the warm mug in her hands and humming with pleasure when she takes the first sip.
“Could I - “ Emmeline begins, but stops abruptly, ducking her head and taking another sip.
“Could you…?”
“Take a shower?” she asks almost inaudibly.
“Of course you can,” Liv answers automatically. “You can have whatever you need.”
Emmeline hesitates, still so frail and uncertain. “Just that is enough...thank you…”
Strengthened by her meal, Emmeline is able to make her own way to the bathroom. Beneath the blanket she is wearing a pair of nurse’s scrubs, stolen from the laundry room at the lab just in case a glimpse of her was caught on camera, though Liv meticulously designed their plan to avoid that. She sheds the clothes and Liv bundles them and the blanket into a plastic bag to discard tomorrow.
Emmeline disappears into the bathroom and a minute later the water comes on.
Liv is left sitting on the couch, finally alone with her fears and doubts.
I can’t believe I did that…
If we get caught we’re so fucked…
Does she even want to be here?
What the hell do I do now?
She grabs the tray of dishes and hurries to the kitchen, where she actually washes them instead of pushing it off to tomorrow, just to distract herself. When that task is done too soon, she goes to change into pajamas and find something for Emmeline to wear.
She’s unfolding and refolding the clothes for the third time when the water shuts off. Just as Liv is standing to bring her the clothes, the sound of the shower curtain moving aside is followed by a cry and a loud thud.
Liv darts to the bathroom, everything else forgotten. She enters without knocking, her heart in her throat.
Emmeline is sprawled on her side on the floor, grimacing. One leg is hooked over the edge of the tub and it quickly becomes apparent that she slipped.
Not attacked. Not passed out or dead. She just fell. It’s okay. It’s okay.
At the sound of Liv entering the room, she rolls onto her back with a groan, revealing a bruise on her hip that slowly starts to heal as soon as the pressure is removed from it.
“Ow…”
“Shit...I forgot to put the bath mat in,” Liv mutters, embarrassed. No wonder Emmeline slipped. She crouches beside her and offers her arms for Emmeline to hold onto.
“Not your fault,” Emmeline answers quietly as she slowly gets to her feet. “I got dizzy…”
The moment Emmeline is standing she sways into Liv, leaning heavily against her before her legs can give out again. Liv freezes, acutely aware of the pressure of Emmeline’s body draped against hers, soft and clean, so weary, so in need of comfort.
All of those evenings Liv spent watching her suffer, wishing she could hold her, touch her gently, stroke her hair...now she has the chance, not a camera or another soul in sight, and she can’t move, can barely think. Not when Emmeline has her head tucked against Liv’s shoulder, breathing soft breaths against her neck.
Liv reaches blindly to her side until she finds a towel hanging on a hook beside the shower. She puts enough space between them to wrap it around Emmeline’s shivering form but remains close enough to steady her. By now Emmeline looks like she might fall asleep where she stands.
“Sorry,” Emmeline whispers, her drooping gaze fixed on Liv’s shirt. “I got you wet…”
“Shh. Don’t worry about it,” Liv answers quietly. “Come on…”
She guides her the final few feet into the bedroom and helps her into soft cotton pajama pants and a t-shirt. Then she pulls back the covers - freshly washed sheets on a freshly made bed, another thing she made sure of - and motions for Emmeline to get in.
“A bed?” Emmeline breathes. She runs her fingers over the sheet with a look of wonder.
“Mmhmm,” Liv affirms, lips pressed together. She’s afraid if she opens her mouth to speak she might cry from the sudden well of emotion at finally being able to give this to Emmeline, this comfort and safety she so deserves.
Emmeline slowly lies down on the bed, letting out a long sigh of relief when her head comes to rest on the plush pillow. Liv pulls the covers over her and tucks them around her snugly. She barely resists planting a soft kiss to Emmeline’s damp hair. Barely.
“Goodnight,” she whispers.
Emmeline is already fast asleep.

Hi my love!!! I’m just here to say that I’m finally catching up on your drabbles and you’re about to get a bunch of asks from me as I read them. (I fell into a really long Harry Styles fic since April. Like so bad I needed to touch grass after. Yikes. But I’m back!)
First up, Joon and Daisy’s “And to think I called you a cooking genius.”
Ok I. AM. SOFT. This is so god damn wholesome and sweet. Joonie mixing up baking powder and baking soda 🥺 of course he did. And then just finding the article about how you can replace the two, but neglecting the part about having to balance it out otherwise it’ll taste bad. (Also cackling at the member calling him out for them still tasting bad. They would so do that 😂). Like the boy has the biggest brain for academia, but every thing else he’s a big ole goof. Must protect always. And the part where Daisy asked if he was paying attention and he just said “I was trying, youre just so pretty.” 😩 I audibly awed. SO GOD DAMN WHOLESOME AND CUTE. It made me want to bake cupcakes with someone. 🥺 SOMEONE COME BAKE CUPCAKES WITH ME. Better yet, Joon come bake cupcakes with me. We’ll mess up and end up making out. (Which was the perfect touch by the way Liv. Wholesome, but still have the fattest crushes on each other). Anyways, Daisy and Dimples are cute as hell and I’m obsessed with them.
Amy you’re so sweet :( sorry I took so long to answer this but I love you and I very much appreciate your support <3
But like honestly lmao this just felt like such a legitimate Joonie error hahaha. I feel like Daisy would have several moments in a day where she’s just like “🧐 remind me how you’re a literal genius” but she loves it. Oh to bake cupcakes with Joonie :( it’d be a mess but it would be fun lol.
Thanks for sending this love, you’re the sweetest <3

Flashback: “ARacnossPhobia,” Track 1: “Who Will Save You Now?”
Bellwood, California, The Recent Past.
“Hey, excuse me,” a woman called to him, frowning as she was glancing down at her phone and its GPS map.
Mid-slurp, Ben glanced up from the smoothie he was swigging and blinked at her. “Oh, yeah, hey. What’s up? Autograph, huh? Who should I make it out to?”
He had just gotten back from The Universal Road Trip only hours before, and he was still a bit space-lagged, but he could still show a little love to the ol’ fanbase...
...oh, hey, speaking of showing love, she was adorable...
She was probably too old for him, but she was only a little shorter, and it wasn’t the first time he’d gotten a crush on an older lady with pale white hair...
“...autograph?” she blinked. “What? No.”
Ben sighed. Must be from out of town. Always hit-or-miss if I’m famous with the out-of-towners.
“Yeah, okay,” he nodded, chucking what was left of his smoothie into a trashcan by the sidewalk and wiping his mouth with the back of his left wrist. “What’s up?”
“Im looking for the brain bank,” the pale lady replied, shaking her head.
Ben chuckled. “I always wondered why Bellwood had one of those. But yeah. It’s uh--”
He turned, frowned, half-pointed, “wait, what street are we on?”
“The cerebral matter repository is five doors down on the left, Miss,” Rook informed helpfully as he strode up, smiling.
“It’s Ms,” she corrected. Then paused. “Actually, it’s Doctor, I don’t know why I don’t insist on that more often. I’m with the Seattle Medical Examiner’s Office, here retrieving some old samples we had put into storage. Gosh you’re blue. And here I get crap for being extra white.”
“A terrestrial law enforcement professional will of course receive our full cooperation,” Rook inclined his head. “And yes, I am quite blue, but not in the poetic sense.”
“Good for you,” she smiled at him. “I’ve had my own inundations of ennui, that’s never fun.”
Ben nodded to her. “Good luck with your investigation thing, uh, Doctor--”
“Liv,” she smiled gratefully at the superhero and the Plumber. “Liv Moore. And thanks.” ( @livgwendylanmoore )
As she turned and left, Ben watched her go wistfully, then turned back to Rook. “Okay. So you’re teleporting up for the big meeting?”
“The Magistrata has never called for a full assembly of all Plumber resources while I have been a member of the organization,” Rook admitted. “The topic must be one of quite dire nature, and I do not wish to be late. Are you certain that you are okay to watch the city without back-up for the next little while?”
Ben flashed his partner a thumbs-up. “As a freelance consultant to The Plumbers, hey, I got this.”
But the moment those three words fell from his lips, an explosion sounded above them in the near distance--
--the top of a nearby building--
--and then another, and another--
--buildings dotting the skyline, Nemesis Tower, KBEL, Billions Tower--
--the screams started almost instantly--
Ben and Rook stared up at the explosions in horror, trying to decide how to react first--
--but then a titanic, star-shaped spacecraft rippled into existence in the sky just above that skyline--
--and a forcefield seemingly made of tightly-woven energy strands, a forceweb, sizzled into being, encasing all of Bellwood in its dome and closing just above the star-ship.
The ship immediately began casting bolts like lightning down into the city, more explosions rumbled like thunder, and the screaming redoubled.
There came great scuttling noises in the distance, as though a horde of gigantic crustaceans had lurched onto shore...
“Oh, man,” Ben shook his head. “Every time. Every time I say stuff like that, I should know better--”
“Calling all Plumber personnel!” Rook demanded into his commlink. “Blukic, Driba, Magister Tennyson--”
--he stopped.
“We are cut off, and by now everyone else will be aboard headquarters for the assembly,” Rook assessed. “We are on our own in this.”
At that terrifying prospect, the source of the scuttling noise came into sight, and dozens, maybe hundreds of impossibly large red spidery creatures emerged, crawling along the walls of buildings and swarming towards the two heroes, driving panicked civilians in their wake.
But then came a howling strobing sound like wind blowing through a haunted house... and a blue box materialized before them.
The tall, slender man who stepped from that box fixed them with a glare from dark, dark brown eyes.
“Benjamin. Magister Rook. I’m a friend of Professor Paradox, and you are not alone. I’m called The Doctor, I’ve brought some allies to help stave off this invasion, but first things first--”
He drew a wand-like thing out of his pocket and pointed it at The Omnitrix-- for an instant, it reminded Ben of the device Azmuth had used to neutralize Albedo’s Ultimatrix --and pressed a button, causing it to whistle and glow.
The Omnitrix bleated on Ben’s wrist, bleated and then made the ready sound effect, and spoke in its distinctive but familiar voice-- [MASTER CONTROL TEMPORARY UNLOCK ACCEPTED.]
“You’ve got ten minutes of Master Control-- though you could think of a better name for it --make it count, now stop gawping and allons-y!” ( @drthetasigma10 )
“What that means is--” Rook began, but Ben grinned at him.
“I got the gist,” Ben assured his partner, and his hand blurred as it slammed down onto The Omnitrix to unleash a small nova of emerald light...
“...it means IT’S HERO TIME!”

Part 4! Longer than the others so I put a ‘keep reading’ There’s one more part coming up. Shorter from what I’m imagining but it is the last one. This one is all ironpanther at the end so get ready for feels.
“Why didn’t you tell us?” is the first thing Steve says when they meet. Tony can already feel a headache going on. He doesn’t need to explain himself. It’s not his fault they didn’t piece it together or bothered to get to know him and learn of the name change themselves.
“Does it matter? You both went after a name. Congratulations you found it.”
“That’s not what we wanted.”
“No?” Tony snapped because it’s been years since he’s buried this but Steve and Bucky returning is bringing up old wounds he’d rather not remember. All his pent up anger is making an appearance. “Funny. I distinctly remember you both saying ‘we’re waiting for our third’ and ‘there isn’t room for you,’ meaning you didn’t want the guy who was actually your soulmate and standing right in front of you and instead were looking for a guy with the same name on your arm.”
“You could have told us!”
“I thought you knew,” Tony barks, his voice rough and heavy, before leaning back on the wall and taking a deep breath. He’s thankful T’Challa isn’t there and seeing this ugly side of him. This pitiful side he thought he buried long ago. “I didn’t think changing my name made a difference and I thought you knew the guy who was trying to get close, to slowly join your space, was your soulmate. I thought you knew so I tried opening up and getting you both used to me. I thought you knew so when you said you were waiting for your third and there was no room for me you were basically telling me a big fat ‘go away.’ I thought you knew and basically didn’t want me. Imagine my surprise when I see on the TV my brother announcing his soulmates Steve and Bucky.”
“We thought it was -” Steve scrunches his face in an ugly manner.
“Yeah, it’s very easy to figure out what you thought. Why did you let that idiot tell the whole world in the first place? Did you even bother to see if he had your names on his arm? Did you even check before letting him do what he wanted?”
“No,” Bucky answers in defeat, “we didn’t check in the beginning. He said he hardly showed anyone the names and didn’t feel comfortable yet. Wore his wrist cuff the entire time. Told us he’d show them when he was ready.”
Tony sighs. “And you believed him.”
“We had no reason not to. We were getting to know ‘im, and we were so excited to find our third.”
“When he finally showed us his wrists our names were on them. We didn’t think anything of it,” Steve says.
“Great, he faked his soul names, and with the resources he has he probably got very convincing ones.”
They nodded.
Nothing Tony could do now. Documentation is one thing. They could prove or disprove with that, but soul names were it. If they cannot be unproven there’d be no way to convince the public Gregory is not their actual soulmate. This will forever haunt them.
Tough luck. Reap what you sow and all that. “Good luck then. Knowing my dear ol’ brother he’s not going to let you both go so easily. Even if you leave he’ll make sure to keep the stories going for a long time. Blame you for the relationship failing and all that.”
Steve and Bucky have visible grief in their eyes. “You’re not going to do something?”
“Not my issue.”
“But… Tony -”
“Not my issue. Take it up with Gregory. He’s your actual soulmate.”
[watch for break]
That made them flinch. Bucky is back to shaking again. “Please, we can’t deal with this alone. Not with him. Please.” He’s gripping his side again, his side that lacks an arm and Tony feels the smallest pity for him. It’s enough to make him feel sorry for them. He hates himself.
“Yeah, and what do you think I can do to help here? I gave up SI. I have nothing on him.”
“You can show everyone your names,” Bucky’s voice has hope now. Hope that Tony is going to crush.
Tony takes off the cuff he wore out of sentimental value, and maybe shame, than necessity. He shows them his scarred wrist with smudges of what used to be Steve and Bucky’s names. Now nothing but lines and blotches. “No can do. As you can see this would prove nothing.”
The two heartbroken faces were lethal and he could swear he almosts sees one of them cry.
“I didn’t do this on purpose,” he informs them, giving them at least that. “It was an accident. Happened while I was drunk and working with a torch. Not one of my greatests ideas. Got tired of everyone looking at me with pity so I wear the cuff to hide it.” He puts the cuff back on. “I can’t help you.”
He tries to walk away but Bucky grabs his arm gently. Tony yanks it back, making the pair wince. No way is he going to allow that. Not after so long. “Please.” Bucky’s eyes are wide and pleading. “Please. We don’t want this.”
Curse him and his bleeding heart. No matter how much they had hurt him, no one deserves to be stuck with Gregory or get in Gregory’s war path. He didn’t believe T’Challa when he said he had such a big, caring heart, but maybe he did have a point. Dammit, his mother, Pepper and T’Challa are going to kill him. Their freaking wedding is coming up soon and Tony’s considering helping these idiots, but he needs the big guns and that means asking Pepper and T’Challa, who both knew a thing or twenty about handling the press.
He asks them and Pepper naturally looks like she wants to bite his head off. T’Challa seems more reserve, almost hesitant. They brainstorm and find the easiest way to start getting the press to fight against Gregory’s accusations and attempts at bringing Steve and Bucky down is to give the press the perfect image of soulmates in their prime and to throw back Gregory’s words, use them against him. That means Steve and Bucky, the losts souls who got tricked by the evil brother, spending time with the ‘underdog’ Tony who had to look from afar as his ‘true loves’ were taken from him. It’s months of work, months of pretending they were happy, months that’d push back his wedding day and Tony is not having that.
Surprisingly it’s T’Challa that asks him to at least consider it. If Tony was in their situation he’d want help, too. Tony tells him if he ended up in that same situation then he’d deserve it for being so blind and foolish. T’Challa tells him it’s okay, they can move their wedding day back. Tony is not happy about it, but agrees he’d want to escape the clutches of some idiot. Steve and Bucky were prisoners of war at this point. Gregory the ring leader. The press the battlefield.
They don’t have to do much to gain their attention. Steve and Bucky are already big news, leaving Gregory after announcing their soulmate bond. The equivalent of ‘divorcing’ to the public. All Tony has to do is walk down the street with one or both of them. Paparazzi did the rest. And it’s so easy to give that image of united soulmates finally together after years apart, after the ‘evil’ Gregory kept them separated for so long, pretending to be their third, calling himself their third. The press is naturally divided. One side believes the sob story, believes the multi-millionaire would do something like that to get back at his black-sheep brother (which is half the truth), while the other side demands blood, specifically Tony’s blood, for being a homewrecker. These ravenous fans believe the love story of Gregory, Steve and Bucky, thought it had been true love, and refuse to accept it as a lie. These are the ones Tony wants to throw eggs at. He knows it’s not going to be easy, but it sure is a pain in the ass.
To the public they’re either the couple trying to catch up after spending years separated, a tragic but beautiful reunion, or they’re the couple trying to destroy the perfect image of soulmate unions. Steve and Bucky the traitors leaving their soulmate for the brother with the company and the money. ‘Damn golddiggers.’ No matter the view they’re far from the truth. Steve and Bucky are acquaintances at best, nuisances at worse and in the safety of his building Tony doesn’t have to play nice, not when there’s no cameras to show for it.
Then Tony notices T’Challa pulling away from him. “I’m sorry, kitten I don’t think I can make it for dinner,’ ‘I have a meeting today,’ ‘I promised to attend a gala. I’m sorry I can’t bring you but the image you’ve created will be all for naught if you are seen with me.’ Tony sees what’s going on. His fiance is avoiding him and he wants answers.
“If you don’t want to see me anymore all you had to do was say so,” Tony tells him one night when he manages to catch the sneaky man. His arms are crossed defensively, waiting for the blow out.
“That’s not it and you know it.” T’Challa is looking at anything but him.
“Do I? You’ve been avoiding me. You’ve been giving me nothing but excuses. We haven’t spent time together in weeks. If you’re going to lie at least look at me.” T’Challa does but Tony can see the sadness that he tries to mask with confidence. “Why are you doing this? We’ve had our fair share of people pushing us out of their lives so don’t bother lying. I want the truth.”
T’Challa caves, if only because he does understand how it feels having someone they care for push them away. He’s been doing it to Tony without even realizing. Has his reason for it, but bottom line is he’s still doing it. The good cause doesn’t excuse it. “They’re your soulmates.”
“So?” Tony says bluntly.
“They’re here. They’ve come back for you.”
“No, they’re here because they need help. They didn’t come back for me. They’re trying to escape the mess they got themselves in.”
“You do not see the way they look at you. The longing, the regret. They care.”
“And?” Tony continues, not seeing why it’s the reason T’Challa is pulling back. It’s obvious the two soldiers regret what they’ve done. Chasing after a name that landed them under Gregory’s clutches when Tony had been right under their noses. It doesn’t change anything.
“I do not wish to get in the way,” T’Challa has sadness in his eyes now. Tony isn’t having that.
“In the way of what? T’Challa, they may have my name in their arm, they may be trying to right some wrong, but I am not going to let some bullshit decision fate chose for me happen now after I told fate to go fuck itself. I love you, you idiot, and just because they have Anthony Edward Stark on them doesn’t mean I’m about to swoon and fall in their arms the first moment they open the door for me.” Tony moves forward and brings T’Challa in for a hug.
He’s grateful T’Challa returns it. “You are getting a second chance.”
“I could care less about the second chance if it means losing you. Unless you outright reject me for a valid reason like unable to get some sleep because of my snoring or me stealing your socks you’re not getting rid of me.”
“I love you.”
“I love you, too, but you owe me now for trying to break up with me.”

Each week, Brian Bayless and Jennifer Smith will recap the week that was in WWE TV. Share your thoughts with us via social media!
*** Matt Souza is filling in for Brian this week
Matches of the Week
Matt: McIntyre and Ziggler vs The Revival was an excellent Tag Title match. This looked like a great match on paper and it delivered in spades. Drew and Dolph have turned into quite the team and The Revival is The Revival. Real solid action throughout this one with good double team moves and a few great near falls. My one knock against this match was that it was a little short as it only went around 12 minutes. Despite that, they packed a ton of action into this and I’d like to see what these teams could do with a little more time. Good stuff.
Runner Up: Remember this moment as it might one of the few times that Baron Corbin’s name will be seen in the Match of the Week section of the WWE TV Snapshot. Shield vs Corbin and AOP was a really good six man tag that was reminiscent of all the great Shield tag matches from years past. Rollins and Ambrose flying around the ring at the end of the match to wipe out the members of AOP was good stuff. Right move having Corbin eat the pinfall in this one as it keeps AOP strong in losing. If we get a Shield six man tag every week, I’ll be one happy son of a gun.
Jennifer: Tommaso Ciampa vs. Otis Dozovic  After weeks of watching Ciampa make out with his belt, we finally get to see him back in the ring. The NXT Champion expected to put Dozovic away easily but proceeded to get his ass tossed about by the big man. One crushing move after the next, including an awesome Caterpillar, had Ciampa saying “fuck this” and attempting to escape but was turned back by Heavy Machinery member Tucker Knight. Dozovic continued to dominate the match until Ciampa executed a pair of devastating draping DDTs and scraped out the win. What can I say, I’m a Tommaso mark. I love his bumping and selling, his intelligence and presence in the ring, the way the crowd reacts to him. But he was definitely humbled here by ‘ol Otis so we will see what that does for his confidence going forward. My guess is he recovers quickly.
Segments of the Week:
Matt: The best segment of the week on the Raw side of things was the opening segment. Solid promo work from everyone involved here but Rollins and Ziggler’s mic work really shined here. I’m digging the build to the Shield vs. Braun & Company six man tag at Super Showdown and it’s easily the most interesting Ziggler has been in years. On 205 Live, the segment of the week was Brian Kendrick’s ten second win and Drew Gulak’s post-match beating of the jobber of the week. It was a great way to bring Kendrick back after being off TV for a month and they made Gulak look like a ruthless bad ass after his losing his championship match last week.
Jennifer: R-Truth took over Miz TV on SmackDown and dubbed it Truth TV. He and newly brunette Carmella welcomed Daniel Bryan as their guest to talk about his heated feud with Miz. Also, how ADORABLE is this R-Truth and Mella combo?!? (Insert 7 second dance break!) Of course, Miz showed up to ruin Truth’s animal segment which led to a match between them to see whose TV spot would continue on SmackDown. I thought this was a super fun way to open the show. Daniel looked delighted to be there and Truth’s dumb and innocent act is endearing to me. Miz is always great on the mic but I definitely prefer Truth TV.
Quotes of the Week:
Matt: “Baron Corbin, the world’s largest substitute teacher.”  –  Seth Rollins
“As far as him taking my soul, I sold that a long time ago.” – Triple H regarding Undertaker’s comments last week
Jennifer:  “Although your mohawk is quite distracting, the three of us decided that the carpet must match the drapes.” – Big E
“Put your hair up and square up.” – Naomi
What Worked:
Matt: Kevin Owens was great during The Kevin Owens Show segment and Elias continues to be one of the best parts of Raw each week and one of the best characters in WWE. Lio Rush as Lashley’s manager/hype man is a good fit as Rush is a great talker. Lashley has never been great on the mic so having Rush as a mouthpiece is a shrewd move. I like how they were hinting at an Ambrose turn. And while I would have some reservations if they were to pull the trigger, I think a heel turn would do wonders for him. Maybe it’s because I’m in a good mood or maybe it’s the allergy meds talking but I thought the whole show overall was pretty solid. There were few if any wasted moments, an opening segment that actually moved a story along further rather than just setting up the main event for the night and two good bordering on great matches.
Lio Rush continues to be one of the most entertaining parts of 205 Live each week. Very entertaining match with Noam Dar this week. It’s crazy that he’s this good at only 23 years old. I’d love to see him get a title shot against Cedric Alexander sometime soon. Real good match on 205 Live between Hideo Itami and Mustafa Ali with a completely insane finish that lead to the double countout. I don’t mind the finish here and I think it will probably lead to some sort of stipulation match in the near future. 205 Live is such an easy watch each week and as much as I enjoyed Raw on Monday night, I think 205 Live is the better show this week.
Jennifer: The wrestling was just okay for me but SmackDown was killing it with their segments and continuing storylines this week. Daniel Bryan sat in on commentary during the R-Truth vs Miz match and played it cool as he and Miz eye fucked each other the whole time. Women’s Champion Becky Lynch viciously attacked Charlotte Flair during a photo shoot and later bullied Lana in the ring. But Lana’s head was clearly somewhere else, as Adien English mysteriously asked her about “that one night in Milwaukee” in his continued attempt to drive a wedge between she and Rusev. The New Day had more great jokes but Sheamus had the last laugh in a tidy match with Big E. Another Randy Orton run in and beat down, this time against Tye Dillinger during his fight with Nakamura. Samoa Joe didn’t show up for the contract signing against AJ Styles. Instead, he visited AJ’s home in Georgia and made a creepy ass video while AJ looked on in horror. Daddy’s home!
Over on NXT, General Manager William Regal shocked Adam Cole by making his North American Title rematch a Triple Threat with Ricochet and Pete Dunne. ALL OF THE YES. Furthermore, Undisputed Era will finally face War Raiders for the Tag Team Titles in three weeks. My new lady crush Lacey Evans talked some trash to Candice LeRae while The Dream was all attitude during an interview (imagine that!). EC3 interrupted Lars Sullivan’s absolute beat down of Victor Orchant and they both looked crazy as hell. Reigning Women’s Champion Kairi Sane defeated Vanessa Borne and then accepted Shayna Baszler’s request for a rematch, to be held at WWE Evolution.
What Didn’t Work
Matt: When did Brie Bella turn into the second coming of Mirko Cro Cop??? In all seriousness, Brie Bella has not looked good since her return to the ring and the kicks to the face she hit Liv Morgan with were disgusting.  She should have made sure that she wasn’t going to hurt Liv before throwing those kicks. I’m going to chalk this up to ring rust and hopefully Brie can work some of it off before she seriously hurts herself or somebody else. I don’t like Drake Maverick as manager of the Authors of Pain. He didn’t really do anything at ringside during the main event and I don’t think he adds anything to the team. I’m a fan of Maverick and I think he’s great as GM of 205 Live but he feels out of place as a manager of a team like AOP.
Jennifer: I’m really not picking on Asuka. Or Naomi. Or The IIconics. I want to like them but honestly there are so many compelling feuds in the Women’s Division across all of the shows that this one just falls flat for me. Fingers crossed it gets better!

Should we ship Liv and Emmeline as friends or as lovers? Or something else? I feel shippy fan feelings towards their relationship, and I wanna know which kind of boat I should board
