PvP is a lot of fun if no one is talking in chat and you don't hate dying

#if there are no keyboard warriors making it Super Srs for no reason then it's basically just slapstick comedy #i tried pvp in ffxiv a while back for glam purposes and i tried eso battlegrounds yesterday just to get a quest marker to go away #and each time i was like ''eeehhhh i don't know about this...'' and then i get in there and i'm like ''oh. this is fucking hilarious.''#i think i like pvp i just don't like pvp culture. this is the same as me figuring out that i love mmos i just don't like career mmo players

hughie is the swagless guy whose whimsy is so captivating. like mm has whimsy too whimsy in SPADES but he is not swagless he is bursting with swag. and whimsy. and hand sanitizer. hughie is a silly little noodle man and even when he goes through ‘i’ve killed a man and i have to have a moral crisis about it’ arcs or annoying ‘i’ll protect you! i’ve developed sudden onset toxic masculinity from hanging out with billy butcher too much and now i am afraid to be just a regular guy in case my superhuman girlfriend needs help, or stops liking me for not being like her’ arcs it doesn’t last. within five or six episodes he’ll have a little realization while watching some cheesy music video and he’ll be like ‘oh right....one life saved might not cancel out a life taken, but it’ll sure help you sleep at night’ or ‘oh! right! my swagless whimsy is what my girlfriend likes about me! and what i like about her is her principles, and her friendly charm, and her ability to lift me like a barbell and do squats! and trying to change our dynamic makes it worse, and not better . we’re doing fine just the way we are :)’ and then he’ll get some support move in the big finale and that’ll be his contribution, to like hold the binoculars or something <3

#his s3 arc was annoying sometimes but it ultimately didnt bother me bc like...you know he's going to learn an important lesson from this #and walk away going 'oh yeah! she thinks my morals and ordinary charm are what's important not my ability to teleport'#and what happened? exactly that. he's predictable in a very fun way #he's always going through or dispensing these little character-building arcs like #'in a team it's important to look out for each other :)' 'honesty is the best policy! unless it will get you killed then lie if you want to #'it's important to respect each other's choices'#'lend a helping hand whenever you can - especially if it keeps you from losing your humanity to an increasingly futile quest for revenge'#but he always comes back to hughie baseline: quirked up white boy #the boys #actually they are All like that #butcher and kimiko are like the only two who really belong in this genre and even then they have their oddities #butcher thinks every day is talk like spike day . kimi's on some helena-from-orphan-black shit where she uses her mercenary pay #to buy a set of brass knuckles that say BOSSY on them and she could've been teaching her sign from the start she just didn't feel like it #frenchie is the roguish deuteragonist of a heist movie (the one that might or might not die in the fourth act to up the stakes)#MM is the fastidious dad in a family sitcom opposite a humorously-much-more-spontaneous family who drive him up the wall #and hughie? also in a sitcom but it's a workplace comedy and he's the hapless male lead who does get the most romantic arcs #and starlight? she's just a smalltown girl trying to chase her dreams in the big city lmao and i love #every time she swears she does it with the excitement and overdetermination of someone who started swearing three months ago

If I had a nickle for every great glitchmon fic/au I've found over the past month or so, I'd have three nickles. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird/amazing that it happened thrice in 2022. ((I'd also have two nickles for every reminder of and subsequent nostalgia-wave for Glitch Fest ;u;)) Anyways!!! Greetings, person of phenomenal taste & art skill, please take this ask as blanket permission to talk about whatever GlitchFarer AU stuff you want to :)

I'm so so sorry for responding to this so late! Tumblr pulled a Wattpad and kept deleting wiping my responses to this, but after updating Tumblr it's finally working properly and I can answer this!

Thank you sm for the ask ahhhhh!!!! I'm really happy that you like Glitchfarer, it's such a passion child of both my interests in Submas and my love for Gen 1 glitches (which have become so prevalent they're practically a science of their own.). Also, nice to see another Scykoh fan here, making this au made me rewatch their glitch quest videos about pokemon and eventually the entire playlist of glitchfest that they've made.

Also, I have been holding BACK so much when it comes to this AU, but I'll try not to spoil too much of it other than basic world building.

So, Glitchfarer. This au came alive during the first big wave of submas content involving Emmet capturing/using legendaries to beat up God. I remember looking at a particular post about Emmet catching all of the legendaries to absolutely body Arceus to bring Ingo back, and going "that's cool and all... but why not more unhinged? Why not something like MissingNo?" and them boom. It was created and it was incredible.

A really fun thing about this au for me is that while I can portray it comedically, there's a lot of thought and technical stuff that goes into the designs of the glitchmons and the world they live in. For example, the main Glitch City is one big labyrinth that will always get you lost, and is a constantly changing maze. If you dont have one of the locals guiding you, you're stuck in there forever unless a pokemon can use fly to escape. It's made up of a bunch of optical illusions that aren't illusions at all. There are also floating islands as apart of the natural terrain outside of the massive city and a large, endless sea at the bottom that doesn't have a floor to it.

The bottomless sea is more or less a really complicated one-sided gateway to Cinnibar island's coastline, and it's flooded with all of the different pokemon and trainers that are possible, including Zzazz trainers. This is mainly in reference of the Old Man glitch, where various pokemon and trainers can be encountered at the right edge of the Cinnabar Island coastline depending on the letters of your name. Thought it'd be a cool reference to one of the oldest glitches known.

Glitchmons included in this comic are designed based on their known typings, moves, and general corruption in the game. In the introduction post .4 was portrayed as an evil beetle sort of fellow, and for good damned reason!! Encountering one in the wild with the Mew glitch is risky, as these fellas can learn Super Glitch as early as... you know... level 1. It learns it multiple times through its move pool aswell, and it's pokedex entry plays a chaotic glitch tune that never ends and prevents the player from doing most of anything. Japanese Symbol is designed as a bit of a dick head, as it can be encountered through the Mew glitch and will always freeze the game upon entrance. (During research of this, I found out that by complete coincidence Japanese Symbol is the same name given to it by the English community of glitch hunting. I gave it that name because my phone doesn't have the character.)

Currently, there are three other characters planned to join Emmet in his shenanigans; one of them I already revealed in the introduction post, but the other two I won't spoil for a while. Just know that one of them is probably wanted for war crimes and the other is a character I'm surprised to not see much of in this Submas revival, considering they were one of the og fanboys of Ingo and Emmet.

Give me the forbidden enemies to lovers Korrasami

Okay I wrote up my own au of Asami as Amon

Hiroshi and Asami witnessed the death of Asami’s mother at the hands of the Red Lotus society. Asami swore revenge on all benders. The corruption of Benders has gone too far and Asami and her father cannot let it continue. So they create a movement. The Equalists. Near the end of season 1. Asami would be nowhere to be seen. The Krew believes the Equalists have kidnapped Asami and when Korra confronts Amon, they don’t see her.

Tarrlok is still captured by Amon, when Korra sees him and they chat, he tells the whole story of Amon as it happened in the show to her and everything. Like it goes in the show. Korra and friends go to confront Amon at the arena where Tenzin and his family are about to lose their bending. But they don’t because she gets there in time. She accuses Amon of being a bender, as per Tarrlok’s story. Amon doesn’t unmask. And he isn’t a bender. Tarrlok lied to get Korra to confront Amon so that he could capture her and he could hopefully save his own skin for the service at least. They fight. Amon takes Korra’s bending in a big demonstrative way. So all the crowd can see what comes to any benders, especially The Avatar who stand against him. Then the reveal happens. Asami is Amon.

In order to get her bending back and learn how to give others their bending back (yeah, Korra wouldn’t get it back at the end of Book 1 because consequences? What’re those?), Korra has to go on a quest to learn her bending(her masters would be Toph, Katara, Izumi and Tenzin) in the Spirit World to understand everything. Korra does not cry about loosing her bending because she realized she’s still The Avatar and has to go to The Spirit World to get her bending back, to help everyone get their bending back and stop Asami

Throughout the series, we would meet Kya, Bumi, Izumi, Eska, Desna(Eska and Desna would be Korra’s siblings in this universe, because fuck Unaloq) Opal and Kai. We have the same romance between Bolin and Opal and Jinora and Kai. We would also meet Varrick and Zhu Li, because they are comedy gold. They would all help in the fight against Amon and the Equalists.

In Korra’s venture to the Spirit World,

she would still see Wan’s story(because that’s the only thing I liked about Book 2) and I think in her journey in the spirit world she would see Asami’s story, in which her family were victims of the Red Lotus society and Asami learned to take bending away in the spirit world. Not only that, we would find out that Asami would be bonded with Vaatu. Asami is the darker Avatar.

Before she leaves The Spirit World she connects with all her past lives to ask what she should do about Asami. Korra has her Aang moment where she has too has to decide what to do like he did with the fire lord, only this time there’s more to it than just stopping the bad guy. It’s about the person she loved. She can restore everyone’s bending by reversing Amon’s convergence, but she can’t do that so long as the avatar spirit is split. And as long as Asami is part avatar, she can go into the avatar state. That’s still pretty damn dangerous even with only water and blood bending. Korra realizes the only thing she can do to stop Asami? Love her.

After her journey to relearn her bending and journey in the spirit world, Korra travels the world to gain allies. From the Fire Nation, Earth Kingdom, Water Tribes and Air Nomads. Korra unites the world against Amon and the Equalists.

In the final fight, Korra defeats Amon. She exorcises Vaatu from Asami, thus ending the dark Avatar and stopping Amon’s convergence. She reverses what Asami has done and uses it to restore everyone’s bending. So she has to come to the hard part. Amon makes it clear, no matter what, even without the ability to energy bend or without Vaatu, Amon will never stop, Benders will never be safe. Korra shows Asami what she was denied. Korra loves her and forgives her. Asami gives up and accepts whatever punishment.

During Book 3, Asami would work with Korra in stopping and killing the Red Lotus society. However, when Zaheer is stopped. He is left at the mercy of Asami and for everything he’s done and turned her into. Asami kills him.

Book 4 happens. Asami’s redemption is rebuilding Republic City and using Future Industries to repair the damage she’s done as Amon. Blah blah blah Korra stops Kuvira blah blah. Asami earns her redemption and the love of Republic City, the krew and more importantly Korra. Ends with Korra and Asami venturing in the Spirit World and ends with a kiss.
