In the Wimbledon AU, do Lucy and Greg have a long engagement?
I imagine they keep postponing their marriage due to their Careers and children.
I can see Violet making a comment every new year wondering aloud, into her punch, if this year would be the year.
I can see Gregory saying, "we'll get married, when Eloise gets married" knowing his sister never plans to marry.
Then Eloise up and elopes...
Now the pressure is on.
I actually don’t think they do have a long engagement. I think one day Violet asks them about when they’re planning their wedding for and Gregory just shrugs.
“We got married a couple of weeks ago.”
Everyone in the room froze as Violet gaped at her son, “What?!”
“Yeah we just sort of thought it would be easier if we just did it at the registry office. We’ve basically been married for a long time. We have two kids together, what do we need a big party for?”
“And you didn’t tell any of us.”
Gregory shrugged, balancing his tiny son in his arms. “Kate was there.”
Every eye in the room spun towards Anthony’s wife, who was staring at the ceiling, Neddy on her lap. “Okay, I feel like I’m going to cop a lot of heat for this and I feel like he’s missing an important point which is: I was told we were having brunch. I was lured there. It was a crime, basically. By the time I realised it was too late.”
“And you weren’t a bit suspicious when the meeting place was a registry office?” Anthony asked, raising his eyebrow.
“They picked me up.” she said dryly, “All I wanted was a breakfast sandwich.”
“You’re a millionaire what do you want a free breakfast for?”
“Anthony,” Kate snapped, “I’m pregnant with your child is this the path you want to take?! I feel like we’re getting away from the point which is that Greggy and Lucy are married.”
“And you want a free sandwich.”
“Anthony!”

“You’re going to be a dad.” “Luce, are you-?” He cut himself off shaking his head, tears in his eyes now. “I’m going to be a dad?” OR Lucy and Gregory are expecting a baby and while Gregory has never felt closer to his family, Lucy has never felt more alone OR Anthony and Kate are expecting another baby, and sometimes everyone needs a reminding that family isn't just blood

MAKING A CASE FOR GREGORY TO BE EVERYONE'S FAVOURITE BRIDGERTON.
(Jk, this is just an excuse, like who you want)
Is he my favourite?
Yes.
Why?
Tumblr media
Well......
1. He wants love.
From the start of the book, we are made aware that he has nothing going on and genuinely wants to find love like his siblings.
2. Friends over food.
The way he meets Lucy is him falling in love with Hermonie Watson(👀) and asking Lucy to dance. She pities him enough to carry him to eat because he showed up late and had to go mingle. Basically, they become acquaintances and friends once they decide to set up Gregory with Hermonie.
3. Bro is in love with Kate.
One of the funnier themes in the book is that he goes from saying something he loves about Kate and then compares it to something Lucy does.
4. Alcohol.
He keeps stealing and drinking Anthony's alcohol.
5. Fist fights.
He fights Lucy's brother, Richard, after compromising Hermonie (deserved, earned).
6. The first time they kiss.
I kid you not, I was in shock, tears almost and the energy after this moment never changes. Like genuinely at any point they would've been wed to each other had one person saw them but what makes if crazier is that the only reason it stopped was because Lucy was engaged and she remembered before it escalated
7. Making it everyone's problem.
After he realises he loves her, he makes it everyone's problem. From comparing her to Francesca to embarrassing Violet publicly , even roping Hyacinth in on hijinks, his story is a family event.
8. The Second time they kiss.
Hyacinth is in the other room, they are in Daphne's home and he has orchestrated a plan to propose to her in a closet.
9. They sleep with each other.
To the TSPWL and WHWW girls, step aside for a moment. Gregory breaks into his unofficial fiancé's home in the dead of night, goes to her room, and is eventually seduced by her. They proceed to sleep together, THE DAY BEFORE HER WEDDING TO ANOTHER MAN. They do so three times holding each other, then sleeping together and so on. She's doing it under false pretences because she isn't going to marry him atp.
10. A love like Violet and Edmund's.
They break the Bridgerton record for most kids. At the time of the epilogue, they have 7 kids and are expecting the 8th, they have twins and end up with 9. It's to the point where the pregnancy impacts Lucy and Gregory let's us know that the amount of kids they have is genuinely due to their lack of restraint.
Tumblr media
11. They name their kids after their siblings.
Lucy actually gets to name one after her best friend, but there is a little Daphne and Anthony running around. Also a Kate.
12. Guns.
There is a gun stand off.
13. Kidnapping.
Gregory breaks the law, again.
14. Gay.
Lucy is pinning over Hermione during the first half, her fiance is gay, the uncle never marries......
15. 9 CHILDREN.
I don't want to understate the fact that they have 9 kids in less than 20 years. It was never that serious. She is 33 when they have their last kid. He's 39. They met at 18 and 24 respectively. 9 kids in 15 years.
Tumblr media
16. LUCY MY LOVE
Me 🫂 Gregory.
She's darling. Throughout the narrative, it's just her making sacrifices for everyone she loves. For her brother, her best friend, even Gregory, it's consistantly her trying.
17. Blue Mushroom.
Please read the book because Drunk Greg>>>
18. Last one.
My baby boy is a horrible shot.
Let me end it on a mood board for my faves.
We do be on the way to a wedding. It certainly was a journey

Alright- not sure what kind of prompt you want, so "loving you comes easily to me" as a quote/prompt, OR Getting ready together- for a shopping expedition, or a visit to someone, or whatever.
Oh this gives me an idea! Time to bring back the crack ship!
"Ladies rise and shine!"
The two women who were peacefully sleeping moments ago groaned as the curtains were thrown open.
Felicity tried to roll over but the body wrapped around her refused to budge.
"Your lover is awake," Lucy yawned, her voice slightly muffled from being buried in Felicity's chest.
Felicity threw her free arm over her eyes. "Before noon, he's your husband."
"Actually, ladies, you will find I am both," Gregory said as he kissed both of them on the forehead. "And a father to our delightful children, who are very excited about the family picnic today and have requested their mothers to make haste with getting dressed."
Both Lucy and Felicity groaned again but also disentangle themselves from the other. Now sitting up properly Gregory nodded with a smile.
"I'll finish getting the kids ready while you two dress. Don't have too much fun ladies!" Gregory laughed as he ran out the door, narrowly dodging the pillow Felicity threw at him.
"Dork!" Felicity yelled.
"A dork that belongs to both of you!" Gregory yelled back, halfway down the hall. Laughter from the children could be heard as well. Some cheered their father while the some, most notably the older children, groaned.
Lucy shook her head at their antics, a smile on her face. "Shall I ring for a maid?"
"It will probably be faster for us to help each other," Felicity said. Standing up the blanket fully fell away from her naked body.
Lucy stood as well. "You are probably right."
The two women both opted for more casual dresses. It was after all a countryside picnic with their children today, no doubt they'll get plenty of activity. Chemises on they began to lace up the other's stays. Felicity being cheeky, tugged the laces closer to her, bringing Lucy's neck closer to her lips.
"Litty!" Lucy gasped.
Felicity laughed and moved away to grab her petticoat and stockings.
Gowns on the two women also opted for simple hairstyles today, too. Felicity braided back Lucy's hair. Lucy pinned Felicity's hair up into a bun.
Both now fully dressed, the two women made their way downstairs, where their husband and children waited for them.

Yesss! please! I would love to 😍
Of course! Thank you to you and everyone else who asked for a snippet of the Gregory/Lucy Roommates au!  It was honestly really unexpected so I appreciate it <3
“Lucy?” Gregory called as he walked through the front door. “Luce? You here?”
“I’m in my room!”
“I was wondering if you wanted to order takeout for dinner,” he said as he walked down the hall, pushing forward her door. “There’s that nice new Chinese place down the street…”
His feet stopped moving before he even managed to pass the threshold.
“Oh, I can’t tonight,” Lucy said, glancing at him apologetically before turning back to the mirror to apply some mascara. “But I’d love to tomorrow?”
 “Uhm… Yeah. Sure.”
He swallowed. His feet still weren’t moving.
Lucy was wearing red.
Lucy never wore red.
“Big plans tonight?”
She smiled at him through the mirror before adding some blush to her cheeks. “Yeah.” With Gregory’s expectant gaze on her, she added, “Just a second date.”
He couldn’t stop staring at her, but he did somehow manage to move himself to lean against her dresser. “Second?”
Her smile turned a bit uncomfortable, but she tried to hide it by adding some (red) lipstick. “Yeah, we had coffee a few days ago. And now,” she chuckled, motioning a hand to herself.
There was a rather unpleasant queasiness in Gregory’s stomach now, and he forced himself to pick up a picture frame and look at it instead. His thumb ran over Lucy, hiding half of her face as she laughed alongside Hermione. He could still remember how her laugh had sounded as he took the photo. His lips rose as he looked back at her in the mirror. “Well, you look great.”
Her eyes caught on his - just for a moment, before she let out a small sigh of relief and smiled at her own reflection. “Thank you, I’m glad to know my hard work paid off.”
He took a few steps in her direction, landing just a bit behind her. His voice was softened. “You look great no matter what.”
Lucy hesitated before scoffing, turning to face him. And then she let out a small laugh, shaking some hair out of her face. “Even the fringe?”
His gaze rose to the fringe before slowly moving down, catching themselves on her brows, then her eyes, then her nose, and then… her red lips. He smiled softly. “Everything.”
Their eyes locked again and it was like Gregory could feel Lucy’s warmth radiating from her body. His hand - carefully - made its way up, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.

Gregory Bridgerton x Lucy Abernathy
“He loved her. It was the strangest, most wonderful sensation. It was exhilarating. It was as if the world had suddenly become open to him. Clear. He understood. He understood everything he needed to know, and it was all right there in her eyes.” -On the Way to the Wedding

I am definitely late to the party but I just finished reading On the way to the wedding.
And I am s p e e c h l e s s.
I am not kidding when I say Gregory had me crying with how purely and intensely he loved Lucy, finally a man in this series that doesn’t have anger management issues. I love them all (..almost) don’t get me wrong but he was so refreshing to read.
And Lucy. Pure, smart, kind, fierce Lucy, who was ready to sacrifice her own happiness for the people she cared about, i couldn’t love her more if I tried.
This is easily my #2 of the series after Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, it exceeded all my expectations. ♥️

Oh my wrd I cannot get your Umbrella academy AU out of my head. I just want to say I love the idea!
I think a really awesome little detail is that Gregory is the only who can technically 'steal' Lucy's power. But at the ame time, (due to their love) he is the only one who won't, because he loves every part of Lucy; understands that Lucy deserves to be her whole being; and believes that she can learn to control her power. And that is how the apocalypse is averted
I have an idea about Lucy that keeps pinging around my head. What if when Lucy first lost control of her powers (as a child) her powers accidentally killed John. Therefore the reasons for Lady Danbury to supress her powers would be to protect the others, AND to help stop Lucy feelng the guilt of killing someone who was like a brother to her. Lucy's emotional state is already volatile due to her age and past, and Lady Danbury does not wish to heap yet another traumatic eventon the young girl's shoulders.
Sorry about the ramble, your ideas are just really inspring! ☺️☺️
So following Lucy's rampage, when she's at her lowest ebb, Gregory comes to her aid by cutting off all sound surrounding them with the assistance of some of his siblings. Though she's still highly agitated the peace and quiet comes as a relief to Lucy as she can no longer convert sound waves into physical force. In as quiet and gentle a tone as possible, Gregory asks her what she wants. It comes as a surprise to Lucy as she tries to remember the last time anyone had ever asked her what she wanted. She had always obediently followed Lady Danbury, wanting to prove herself and be of use to the academy, going out of her way to assist the rest of the members in any way she could. All these years she had tried to make herself useful, to make herself part of the family she thought they had become... when all this time they had all lied to her, pretending she was powerless, quietly living in fear of her in case she discovered her abilities.
“I don’t want to be lied to any more.” she breathed out. “I want everyone to respect me. To think me capable of controlling my own power... to not fear me...”
But as she looked around them, at the entire city left in ruin, at the Umbrella Academy members who were either severely injured or rendered unconscious and motionless, at the Bridgertons who were all watching on with apprehension in regards to her... she realised the very things she wanted were the very things she didn’t have.
“Oh god.” she trembled. “Oh god! I... I’m a monster.”
“No you’re not, Luce.”
“No but I am! I really am!” she began to shed tears as the raging fire of emotion inside of her transformed into pained anguish. “Look what I did! I’ve destroyed everything! I’ve hurt the people I was supposed to love the most!” she cried as she watched Colin Bridgerton desperately trying to compress the blood gushing from Penelope’s neck.
“You were hurting, Lucy.” Gregory said in a calm voice. “You were hurt and confused and frustrated -”
“But I shouldn’t have lost control.” her quivered. “I should have...”
She watched as Benedict held Sophie close to his chest, mouthing for her to wake up.
“I should have...”
She watched as Eloise and Anthony tried to douse and alleviate the burns on Phillip’s back and though she couldn’t hear him she knew he was screaming in agony.
“I should have...”
She watched as Hyacinth used her own hands to defibrillate Gareth’s chest, urging him to come back.
“I should have...”
She watched Michael as he lay motionless among the debris, his eyes open but glazed over as he looked up to the heavens above him - and she began to sob as the remorse crashed into her like a tidal wave.
She had become the very thing they had all feared. The thing they had been trying to prevent. The thing that... that would bring about the end of the world, she finally realised as she began to process the ramifications of her actions.
“I’m the apocalypse. Aren’t I?” she shuddered out.
She met Gregory’s eye. He didn’t say anything but there was no answer necessary. She knew it. He knew it... and he was just as scared of her as everyone else was.
Lucy became wracked with hysteria and she began to hyperventilate. There was nothing that could be done, nothing that any of them could do to rectify her thoughtless actions. The world was ending and she was the sole cause of it.
“No, no, no, no!” she wailed. “I just wanted to fit in! I just wanted to be like everyone else! I didn’t want to be like this!”
“Lucy.”
Through the flood of her tears she looked to Gregory who was watching her carefully, compassionately but still keeping his distance from her in the force field that was around them.
“I’m not going to pretend I know the exact thing you’re going through... but I can understand to a limited extent.” he explained. “All my life I’ve trailed after my siblings, having to stick with them to be capable of using my power. Of reflecting their powers. I felt like I was only ever an after-thought. To just follow Anthony to double his power. Go with El as back-up. I didn’t feel as though I served any real use or purpose. I wanted to stand out. Be my own person. Have my own power. I felt like I could never live up to my siblings.”
Lucy found herself fascinated by Gregory’s admission, how he had experienced the same inadequate thoughts as she had had for her entire life.
“And then after the lightning strike... god, I’ve never lost my head the way that I did. I’ve never felt so out of control as I did then. The fog of frustration was so overwhelming, looking back I can’t believe I would ever be capable of possessing a rational thought ever again.” he shook his head. “And I felt so guilty once I had come to my senses. Of what I had done. Because even though my power is just mirroring the powers of others... I had still caused destruction as an individual. I was as just to blame as any of my siblings... and it’s not easy, living with that guilt. Of knowing you’ve inflicted pain on others.”
Lucy whimpered in agreement as she cast a gaze over to where Simon and Kate were lying injured - or worse - as Daphne and Francesca knelt by them trying in vain to save them.
“Lucy.”
She tore her gaze away from where her family members were and looked to Gregory.
“Do you think I’m a monster?”
She hadn’t anticipated the question. For him to be asking her if she thought he was a monster. Surely if he was going to ask such a question it would be about herself?
“No.” she shook her head. “Of course not.”
“But after everything that I did,”
“No, Greg, you’re not.” she told him in a firmer voice. “You’re sweet and kind and you wouldn’t want to hurt anyone.” she said, describing the boy she knew him to be at heart. “That wasn’t you that lost control. You just didn’t know how to handle your new-found powers, you were overwhelmed. You’re not a monster. Not by any means.” she asserted.
“And neither are you.”
His simple declaration stole her breath away and she stared at him. She now realised he wasn’t looking at her in fear. He never had been. All he looked at her with was complete and utter understanding.
“Yeah, but you didn’t cause the apocalypse.” she nervously countered.
Gregory shrugged. “I easily could have. And any one of my siblings. You guys were working off of the theory that we were the cause of the apocalypse anyhow. If you hadn’t managed to track us down or tame us in time, then we would still find ourselves where we are now.”
“But I’ve doomed us all.” Lucy said. “I can’t reverse it.” she uttered forlornly as she looked to Hyacinth still valiantly trying to resuscitate Gareth - the only hope they had of turning back time.
“We might be able to.” Gregory replied. “Colin might not have full control of time-travelling, but there’s still a chance we can fix this.”
Lucy trembled. There was still hope. The world might still be saved.
She began to feel some semblance of relief until it occurred to her - Gregory didn’t have to tell her all this. There had to be some reason why he was going through the motions of trying to reason with her, to lead her into a false sense of security; and then it clicked.
“Greg?”
“Yes?”
“Your power... you don’t just mirror the powers of others.” she said, well aware that he was currently using her power to manipulate the sound waves from entering the outer force field they were in. “You can absorb others’ powers. You can keep it and not return it if you chose to.” she said, recalling how he had done just that to steal Penelope’s power and relieve Sophie and Benedict and herself from the mind control she had had over them.
“Yes.” he confirmed.
She then looked to him sadly. She knew he was a good person. That he would do whatever it took to save everyone. And she also knew she was monster, who was out of control and needed to be stopped.
“You’re going to take my power away from me. Aren’t you?”
“No.”
“Gregory, stop trying to be nice to me.” she shook her head tearfully. “You don’t have to pretend any more. I understand. You can take it. Because if you don’t... and once the force field is dropped... your siblings are going to do everything they can to kill me. To eliminate the threat from mankind.”
“That’s not what this is, Luce. You have to believe me.”
“Why don’t you just take it, Greg?!” she exclaimed at him.
“Because I want you to make that decision!” he cried back. “You don’t deserve to be robbed of it because of this.” he motioned to the bleak dystopia around them. “It’s your power, Luce. One you’ve been kept from all these years. You have your own voice. You’re your own person. If we can right everything and you had the chance of regulating and mastering your power, wouldn’t you want to keep it?”
She was flabbergasted by him. Where on earth did they get Gregory Bridgerton from? Why was he being so considerate and thoughtful to her - the human embodiment of the apocalypse?
“And you think your family is just going to be chill that I’ve kept my power? You think anyone could ever trust me,”
“I trust you.”
Once again, Gregory had stolen Lucy’s breath away with a single statement. He uttered it like a solemn vow, looking her dead in the eye, and somehow in her very soul she knew he meant it. He wasn’t just trying to pull one over on her. He truly cared for her. It was as if they were kindred spirits and nobody else existed but them.
“Why?” she uttered.
“I just do.”
He said it so simply, assuredly, and she just wanted to hold on tight to him and never let go. He made her feel safe, made her feel heard, made her feel worthy.
She took a step forward, her arms already shooting out to embrace him, but he stumbled backwards instantly. She faltered and her lips parted and she began to feel mortification affecting her cheeks.
“I’m not scared of you.” he immediately said before she had the chance to react. “That’s not what this is.” he gestured to his sudden back-step. “Lucy, I still haven’t fully mastered my power. When I touched Penelope’s arm I didn’t realise I had taken her power away from her. And I did the same when I nudged into Simon. If you touch me I’ll immediately absorb your power... and I don’t want you to think I’ve duped you into that.”
And suddenly Gregory keeping his distance from her since they had been within the force field made total sense. She thought he was scared of her - but this whole time he was being respectful of her her and her power.
Nobody had ever treated her like this. Nobody had ever made her feel like... like an equal.
“I could really use a hug.”
It left her lips without her fully realising what she was saying. She didn’t even realise that that’s what she wanted until she heard her own voice utter it. After everything that happened, all of the madness that she had endured; all she wanted was to be held by someone. And there was nobody else she wanted to held by more than him.
“I would really love to give you a hug.” he replied with a sympathetic smile. “But I can’t.”
Lucy nodded but her want for his embrace was growing stronger by the second. He had provided her with verbal and emotional assurance but what she craved more than anything was the assurance that came from physical affection.
“If I hugged you,”
“I would absorb your power.” he completed.
“But you managed to give Simon and Penelope back their power.”
“I did.”
“So you could give me back mine.” she reasoned.
Gregory’s mouth opened and closed before he answered her. “I mean, yes. But Lucy I’m not trying to lure you into anything,”
“I know.” she nodded. “So wouldn’t it be like you’re holding onto it for me?”
Gregory stared at her. “I suppose, technically,”
“And if you had my power and the force field dropped and your family knew I genuinely had nothing for them to defend or fight against... well, wouldn’t that just work better?”
“Lucy,”
“I trust you.” she said. “And I know I’ve just brought about the end of the world and my head was all over the place and I was out of control... but I know in my own mind that I’m giving your my permission to absorb my power.”
“It would just be temporarily.” he told her.
“Temporarily.” she echoed with a nod of confirmation.
“I would give it back as soon as you asked for it.”
“I know. I know, Greg. I trust you.”
“How can you be so sure?”
“I just am.” she said with a small smile. “I’ve never trusted someone the way I trust you. I don’t know how or why or when it happened... but I trust you, Greg.”
He nodded slowly. “Only if you’re sure.”
“I am. And you have my consent to take my power.”
“Temporarily.”
“For the time being.” she assured him.
And then she ran to him, knocking into him and wrapped her arms around him -  and all at once, in spite of the glaring fact that the world was coming to an end around them, Lucy felt in her soul as though everything was right with the world.

Hiii!! do you plan to update “And if you never bleed”?
that fix is so beautiful and i can’t wait to know what happens next!!
you’re such an amazing writer!
thank you so much!! 💚
i'm definitely going to update, i can't say for sure when, but i can promise the next chapter is pretty hefty! gregory and lucy are meeting again, and gregory begins to get to spend time with his daughter, then it covers the entire next year of their lives.
still working at ch 3, but i can give you a little bit of it so far –
“My cousin,” Hermione put in cheerfully – the most bald-faced of lies, given that she and Gregory looked nothing alike. “Since I am your aunt, that makes him your… uncle.”
“Good to meet you, Lady Helena,” Gregory said pleasantly.
Helena stared at Gregory for a long, long while, while Gregory just smiled back amiably. Lucy had always hoped no one but her would make note of the resemblance, but just then, with Helena and Gregory only a few feet apart, it was uncanny.
“We met him at the park the other day,” Helena finally said.
“That was me,” Gregory confirmed.
Helena’s suspicious gaze slid to Hermione. “You called him Mr. Bridgerton.”
“That’s my name,” Gregory said, saving Hermione from a response. He took a cross-legged seat on the floor beside Helena. “Though seeing as we are family, you may call me Gregory.”

in the wimbledon au kate and anthony only find out about gregory and lucy sleeping together after they find out she’s pregnant, so i was wondering, has it ever happened one of them thought something about the two? have they ever seen them acting weird when they were together and wondered if there’s was something going on?
i like to imagine lucy or gregory (depends on whose house they were at) has to literally hide one evening because kate arrives unannounced 😂
Poor Gregory trapped in Lucy’s hotel room closet with no clothes for 3 hours before she could get his sister in law to leave.
“I am so sorry!”
Gregory blinked at the light suddenly flooding his vision as Lucy appeared in front of him. “I knew Kate was chatty, most times I find that delightful. But that was beyond what I ever thought she was capable of.”
“I’m sorry. Can I buy you dinner to make up for it?”
Gregory paused, pulling his boxers on. “Are we talking about dinner here? Where we can do filthy things to one another as we wait?”
“I am obviously willing to go down on you to apologize for the inconvenience of being chucked naked into the closet.”
Gregory flopped back onto the bed, reaching for the menu. “It wasn’t that bad actually. I unpacked your clothes for you.”
Lucy blinked at him, “You what?”
“I hung them up by item of clothing and then on a colour scale within the items. Just like you always do.”
“Take off those boxers right now.”
