I work so much with Turquoise, Jades and Amber that sometimes I forget what a pleasure it is to work with Jaspers and Agates. I just got in some slabs of Morrisonite, which is a rare type of porcelain Jasper. It is considered to be the king of Jaspers. The colors are incredible and I cannot wait to get into the studio to cut them. The patterns in them always look to me like paintings. Morrisonite works to nurture and soothe the heart chakra. It also helps us face big changes calmly. Super excited to see @bbc @bbcarts highlighting the role getting creative can play in improving our wellbeing. As someone who’s always loved art and creativity - whether that was writing stories, painting and sketching, or crafting - I really found that the time in my life where I didn’t engage in anything creative to focus on my academic career was my most miserable and unhappy! From a tiny toddler to my late teens I was always involved in creating, but set this aside when I decided to study Natural Sciences instead of Architecture. I then dove into a career in Psychology with a focus on research, but found this field was not making me fully fulfilled and happy... taking the time to focus on myself after becoming ill I discovered the craft of jewellery making and the rest, as they say is history! The healing power I found in this craft - from the almost meditative art of wirewrapped to the joy of experimenting with the infinite colours and textures found in the gemstone world - was incredible. Trying mediums and techniques in an area of art I’d never really experimented with before was great for the perfectionist achievement-focussed person I’d become - there was no pressure to be great or produce works of art, which has prevented me picking up a paintbrush and returning to the easel after all those years since being a star-student at A-level Art. I cannot recommend enough getting creative - in whatever way appeals to you - for your health, happiness and mental wellbeing. Female MacGyver

Since I was a little girl, I have turned turned things into new things… I once took an old metal vaccuum hose, put a rope through it and hung it like a trapeze in a tree (I had little oversight being my parents owned a mom & pop resort). I cut flowers out of a Kleenex box and glued them on a piece of paper and I wrote a short poem to give to my mom. I hammered holes into like one hundred beer…

Distinguish between Sagun & Nirgun forms of Bhakti

Sagun Sakaar means worship of God with form. In Hinduism, most of people do Sagun bhakti which includes worship of idols of a deity like Lord Shiva and Vishnu. We also can use the term “Saguna Brahman” which comes from the Sanskrit word “Saguna” which means “with qualities and “Brahman” which defines “the Absolute”.

Nirgun Nirakaar includes worship of formless or shapeless god and many high spiritual saints follow this bhakti only by meditation. It is like worship a light or a point which is infinite or Attributeless. The above picture illustrates the Nirgun Bhakti and defines the supreme consciousness and also called as “Nirakaar Nirguna Brahman”.
