Working on stamps. The process started out a tad bit frustrating due to the minute detailing that was necessary. It certainly didn’t help when I’d spend a lot of time on one stamp and then realise that I was working on the non mirrored design all the while. But at the end of the day it was certainly satisfying to make my “maker’s mark”.

My maker’s mark - న్ - is the letter for the sound “nuh” in Telugu and also looks like the first two letters, EN, of my studio name Ensalai. It was a choice between a few other options but chancing upon Élodie’s old stamp “él” that looked like the Telugu letter ఇ was what helped me make the final version of my makers mark. Credits to Alif too who, while learning to write in hindi, mentioned that she draws the letters and doesn’t just write them, which was a lovely way to see the scripts of our languages.

Wednesdays were made for whiskey. Comparing and contrasting the Toasted Marshmallow I and Toasted Marshmallow II Maker's Mark Private Selection from BevMo! These have one stave diffrent between them swapping Baked American Pure with Toasted French Cuvée. The #1 has the flavors of a lightly toasted marshmallow, some baking spice, and a light caramel. The #2 has a less spicy initial flavor for a good spicy after taste. #2 also has much lighter flavor notes with more marshmallow with less toast.
