Strange but True (2019)
Tumblr media
While I didn't enjoy this film, that doesn't mean you won't. No matter what I say, the people involved in this project did it: they actually made a movie. That's something to be applauded. With that established...
There are so many movies out there. You can understand why someone would latch onto a new idea or story. Here’s the thing. Sometimes, it isn’t that no one’s thought of your premise before; it’s that no one’s been stupid enough to push through with it. This is the case with 2019's Strange but True.
Still reeling from the death of her son five years ago, Charlene Chase (Amy Ryan) doesn't know what to think when his girlfriend, Melissa (Margaret Qualley), announces she’s 36 weeks pregnant with Ronnie's baby. Ronnie’s younger brother, Philip (Nick Robinson) starts wondering if maybe there isn’t some truth to the story.
The premise is so outlandish, your mind begins thinking of all the ways Melissa could've become pregnant. Aliens? some kind of demonic ritual? an elaborate ruse? Basically, anything but the most obvious and stupidest possibility: impregnated by a ghost. Normally, you’d be right along for the ride as Charlene begins investigating but she’s insufferable. You hate her right away and grief or not, you dislike her more with every scene. Her first assumption is that Melissa somehow got doctors to extract sperm from Ronnie (Connor Jessup), had them frozen and then impregnated herself years later for… reasons. I’ve heard of playing the long con but even the Count of Monte Cristo would’ve given up with this one. It makes no sense, even with Melissa's dubious mental state. You don’t subscribe to the idea of something paranormal either. Or maybe you will. The tense intro scene where Philip is desperately running away from someone - or something - tells you this movie’s all about the thrills.
But this movie is NOT about thrills or any kind of horror. Well, except when it is but for the most part, this is a much weepier film than you’d expect from the setup. Ronnie’s accidental death caused his parents to divorce. It obviously did a number on Melissa, who swears she’s never been with another man but him (oooooooh!). Philip had big dreams but without his big brother, he soon gave up on them. Even Gail (Blythe Danner) and Bill (Brian Cox), the kindly old couple who agree to harbor Melissa, spend much time confessing their sadness over never being able to conceive. All the flashbacks to the night of the accident should make your heart as heavy as theirs, but you don’t care. All you want to know is how dumb this movie’s mystery is going to get.
Tumblr media
If the rest of the film was poorly conceived, it’s got nothing on the conclusion. Melissa’s baby did not come from Ronnie’s ghost. She was drugged and raped by Bill. Luckily for him, she’s gullible enough to believe in a supernatural explanation. Eventually, his luck runs out, however. Gail discovers what happened and one thing leads to another until she dies. He tries to cover up his crimes by going kill-crazy but gives up and offs himself. The truth never comes out. Melissa and the Chase family warmly welcome the baby into their lives. There are some deeply sinister implications with that ending. What’s the moral of this movie supposed to be?
Tumblr media
Although Strange But True becomes hideously misguided towards the end, the performances are pretty good. Amy Ryan excels at being loathsome. I also must credit it for keeping the audience engaged all the way through. This makes it one of the worst films of 2019 but among the upper end of the bottom 10. (October 25, 2020)

Incorrect quotes
Ted: Are you an ‘arr’ pirate, or a ‘yo ho ho’ pirate? Felix: I’m a ‘I’m not paying $600 for photoshop’ pirate.
Jerome: I was arrested for being too cool. Carla: The charges were dropped due to a lack of supporting evidence.
Monty: Ok, maybe playing ‘whose family is most dysfunctional’ wasn’t the best idea we’ve had. Penny's been crying in the bathroom for an hour. We can’t get her out...
Billy: Oh just so you know, it's very muggy outside Lily: Lily: Billy, I swear, if I step outside and all of our mugs are on the front lawn... Billy: *Sips coffee from bowl*
Alice, to Madison: My life is in the hands of an idiot! Madison, motioning to herself and Ron: No no no no no, TWO idiots!
Buggs: *Gets down on one knee* Nugget: Oh my god, it’s finally happening. Buggs: *Falls over* Nugget: The poison is kicking in.
Dr Danner: I’m gonna need a human skull and I can't have you ask any questions why. Janitor: Only if you also don't ask why Janitor: *Pulls out 7 pristine human skulls* Take your pick. Dr Danner: Janitor: Dr Danner: This one is fine
Jerome: Remember when you didn't try to solve all your problems with attempted murder? Buggs: Stop romanticizing the past.
Nugget: Nugget prevented a murder today. Kid: Really? How’d you do that? Nugget: Self control.
Principal: In your opinion, what’s the height of stupidity? Applegate: *turning to Cindy* How tall are you?
Penny: Carla, what do IDK, LY, and TTYL mean? Carla: I don’t know, love you, talk to you later Penny: Ok, I love you too, I’ll just ask Monty.
Ozzy: Not trying to brag or anything, but I can wake up without an alarm clock now simply due to my crippling and overwhelming anxiety, so...
Buggs: You seem familiar, have I threatened you before?
Cindy: If you can’t beat them, dress better than them
Margaret: I’m sick and tired of being called 'mortal'. You don’t know that. Neither do I. I have never died even ONCE. Nothing has been proven yet. Stop making assumptions. It’s rude.
Hall Monitor: I’d like to offer you moral support, but I have questionable morals.
Monty: English is a difficult language. It can be understood through tough thorough thought, though. Jerome: You need to stop.
Ozzy: This is such a bad idea. Madison: Then why are you coming along? Ozzy: One of us need to be able to talk the cops out of arresting us when this inevitably goes wrong.
Cindy: Looking left cause you don’t treat me right Buggs: Looking right because you left Jerome: Looking up cause you let me down Monty: Looking down cause you messed up Applegate: What is wrong with you
Ozzy: What’s something you guys are better than Felix at? Carla: Mario Kart. Madison: Yeah, video games. Ted: Emotional vulnerability :)
Carla: I think Felix was right. Ozzy: I'm surprised he hasn't marched in here to say 'I told you so.' Ted: He wouldn't do that! Felix: You're right, Teddy. For once in your life, you're 100% right. I would never say that. Felix: *turns around, the shirt he's wearing says 'Felix Told You So' on the back*
Male Principal: Some of you may die, but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.
Kid: So what do you do? Monty: I work in genetic research, and I'm currently trying to eliminate all Cancers. Kid: Wow, impressive. Monty: Then I'll move on to Leos.
Lily: Can I be frank with you guys? Kid: Sure, but I don’t see how changing your name is gonna help. Nugget: Can Nugget still be Nugget? Billy: Shh, let Frank speak.
I found an incorrect quote generator and had a blast ahdkjfh

The Elevator Man Adheres to Form
By Margaret Danner
Not really the elevator man at Newberry Library
I am reminded, by the tan man who wings the elevator
of Rococo art. His ways
are undulating waves that shepherd and swing us
cupid-like from floor to floor.
He sweethearts us with polished pleasantries, gallantly
flourishes us up and up. No casual “Hi”s from him.
His greetings, Godspeedings display his Ph D aplomb.
And I should feel like a cherubim
All Fleur-de-lis and pastel-shell-like, but instead
I vision other tan and deeper much than tan
early Baroque-like men who (seeing themselves still strut-
lessly groping, winding down subterranean grottoes of injustice,
down dark spirals) feel
with such tortuous, smoked-stone grey intensity
that they exhale a hurricane of gargoyles, then reel into them.
I see these others boggling in their misery
and wish this elevator artisan would fill his flourishing form
with warmth for them and turn his lettered zeal
toward lifting them above their crippling storm.

-Hello there! Welcome to the ask blog on au Reversegarten.
I would like to tell you a little about her.
To begin with, who swapped roles with whom:
Kidd-Alice
Nugget-Buggs
Lily-Carla
Billy-Felix
Cindy-Ron
Monty-Penny
Jerome-Ted
Ozzy-HM(Hall Monitor)
Madison-Stevie
Ms. Applegate-1st principal
Dr. Danner-2nd principal
Janitor-Lanch Lady
Bob-Margaret
And some facts:
1.All adults (except HM and Stevie) change professions, that is, the principals became teachers, and the teachers became principals, and so on.
2. Dr. Danner has a daughter, this is Diana(yes, his flower from the original game) and she works here as a Hall Monitor. She and Penny are also good friends.
3. Agnes is not a homeless woman, but a nurse, her character has not changed.
4. I know that the 1st principal was familiar with Dr.D., in my au, Ms. Applegate is familiar with the 2nd principal, and although they collaborated, they were hostile to each other.
5.The 2nd principal's name is Helen Miller(Dr. Miller), and the 1st principal's name is Howard Smith (Mr. Smith)
6.Buggs's nickname is Burger(yeah XD)
That's it. Hope you enjoyed it! :D

So you all wanted the au writing that I did, so here is the whole draft with all the notes I added in :3! It's a very messy draft so I apologize, the text will remain white underneath just because I'm not changing the work at all haha
Prologue(?)
It was just after class started, Carla had finished her laser bomb the day before. With the help of Ron, she would make a passage from the teachers lounge to the janitor’s closet. All she had to hope for was Ron not telling his friends about this plan. The day was fine, almost… normal. That was until Penny was called out of class by her mother. Oh how Carla hated that woman, it was obvious to most smart class kids that she wasn’t to be trusted.
After that, the lights went out. Carla could hear Danner talking about how ‘those need to get fixed’, the lights went back on a moment later, followed by an announcement from the speakers.
“Carla [redacted’] and Ronald [redacted] please head to the principal's office immediately. Carla [redacted’] and Ronald [redacted] please head to the principal's office immediately.”
Carla mentally cursed herself, that was Penny’s voice. Did she get caught? Did someone tattle? But she went out, best to deal with whatever was waiting in the principal’s office.
Ron was waiting there, fumbling with his scarf, he was just as nervous as Carla was.
“Do you know what we did?” He questioned. Carla shook her head, “Let’s just enter, better to deal with this than wait out here.”
He nodded and pushed the door slightly… the smell of iron filled the hallway. The lights in the office were flicking slightly, Carla paused for a moment, Ron gasped…
The principal’s body, head missing, the blood… How much blood was there? In the middle of it all was Penny, reading documents from the principal’s desk.
“...Please come in and close the door. I don’t want anyone else to see.”
Carla and Ron entered, Carla shutting the door behind them. Carla could see Ron trying not to throw up, she felt the same but this wasn’t the worst thing to happen at school.
“I- I found something bad that my mommy did. She kidnapped a kid by the name of Alice [put in last name here]. She also kidnapped one of your friends Ron, I’m afraid they didn’t make it though.” Penny spoke, her head turning towards the two, her eyes were red and not the teal they usually were. Her ever smiling face looked at them, Carla could tell something was wrong. Ron was more concerned about the kidnapping part, rightfully so. He asked,
“Why did you call us? Do you want us to help you?”
Carla glared at him, this wasn't her problem. Why should she be involved? "Yes, I believe you two have the skills to help Alice. First we need to kill the teachers, they know about this operation."
Ron had started to dry heave after the word kill. Penny didn't seem bothered. "It's okay Ron. This will be difficult, but we can do this! If not for Alice, then for your friends. You know, it says here that you and Madison would have been next." She tried to comfort him, but he appeared to be more distressed. Carla stared blankly, she wanted no part in this, and clearly neither did Ron.
"Now now, this will be simple. We get rid of the teachers at lunch, that way I can also get Margaret! We just need a plan."
"What about Stevie and Mr. Bob? Do we have to-" He stuttered for a moment, trying not to think too much about the situation he got into, "Do we have to kill them as well?"
“... I thought you guys would be good at this, Ron, you look ready to vomit.”
“Sorry Pen, we uh- smuggle things into school, we don’t kill people. That still doesn’t answer my question though. Do we have to harm Mr. Bob and Stevie?”
She shook her head, “I’ll deal with them. Now now,” she got off the chair “you two do your thing, we don’t have all day.”
Penny left, Carla didn’t miss Penny’s smile getting wider, or the lack of blood on her clothes.
“Well I guess the bomb we’ve been working on has a different use. The plan is still on, we just need to figure out if this takes both teachers…”
She breathed out, reaching a hand to mess with her scrunchie. Ron looked at her, she could see that he had paled during their talk.
“I- I’ll distract the teachers and you place that thing under the table in there! That should work…”
“Got it Ronny, and if that doesn’t work… Hopefully Penny gets Maraget’s ladle. Or is willing to… do the same thing she does to Maraget."
Ron nodded, Carla could see his nervousness.
Poor boy, got looped in on something he wasn’t supposed to. Actually we weren’t at all supposed to deal with this stupid kidnapping thing.
But maybe Carla could use this to get Penny off her butt. Though Carla felt… helpful doing this despite the other ideas that ran through her brain. The bell rang, time was already closing in on them. As Carla and Ron walked towards the cafeteria, they noted Stevie and Bob’s disappearance.
“She kept her word, does this make you feel better Ronny?”
He nodded, Carla understood not to talk about what was happening. The good thing about Stevie not being here means an easier entrance to the teacher’s lounge.
Ron quickly waved to Madison and Ozzy, trying to act normal about what was happening. They both entered the teacher’s lounge without problem.
"How did both of you distract Stevie?"
The dumb class teacher said, Danner was busy pouring himself a cup of coffee. Carla quickly dashed under the table to plant her, sadly now wasted, bomb. She set it go off in 5 minutes
"How did you manage to lose custody of Stevie Mr.[name]? How does he manage to act better than you do?"
"Ronald. Detention for a whole week."
Carla quickly ran over to the potted yellow flower, jumping onto the counter to get it. Danner finally took interest in what was happening.
"Both of you, out. I see you have both done your parts in ruining a fine tuesday."
Carla passed the flower to Ron as they were pushed out the lounge, Carla making a quick lie about 'Ron trying to get into smart class'.
Maraget was still alive, the teachers wouldn't be for long. Penny hadn't moved the entire time they had left. Carla decided to walk up to her to ask.
"Our part is done, when are you going to do yours?"
She whispered, noticing the other students staring at her.
"Oh let me finish eating. She won't be dead any faster if I'm hungry."
1 minute, the longest minute of Carla's life. The bomb would go off soon, too soon and Penny still hadn't moved.

The lights went out. A small part of Carla betrayed her, did Penny trick them? A quick blur of lights crushed that idea.
The lights came back on, dark and dim, the lunch counter was empty, but the blood on the wall behind it proved what happened. The explosion in the teacher’s lounge also revealed to the other kids what else happened. The air felt tense, Teddy spoke first.
"Carla… What did you do?"
"... I'm being helpful after Penny told us about something disturbing about this school."
Penny followed up,
"My mommy kidnapped two students and experimented on them. I asked Ron and Carla to help me get rid of those involved."
The students either looked disgusted or perturbed about this new information. Someone spoke up, more frantic words than actually speaking,
"Penny, we should go save those kids, they're probably scared and alone."
"Yes yes. Come along everyone"
Penny walked calmly to the door, opening it. Carla and Ron followed her. Felix turned to Teddy, grasping his hand. Leading Teddy towards the playground door, Ozzy and Madison right behind them. Penny stopped walking and turned around.
"What are you four doing?"
Felix responded,
"According to the rules, we should evacuate the school in case there is an emergency. Whatever you are doing is your problem."
"I said. Come along, everyone."
Felix didn't budge, he squeezed Teddy’s hand. Carla noticed Penny's eyes twitching.
"Felix. I said. We. Are. All. Going."
Penny was getting angry. She felt her smile falter, just a little bit, her mask was slipping. She knew she had to try a different approach. She needed to… talk to a person with less stubborn.
"Ozzy, Madison, your other friend was one of the kids my mother kidnapped. They did not make it. If we’re lucky we'll find their body. Don't you want closure?"
Madison stalled, her disgust became more evident, she turned to Ozzy and whispered something to him.
Bingo.
They moved towards Penny and Co. Penny ignored Carla's glare. What she was doing was right. She knew what her mother did, it would be rather easy to stop what her mother did from happening again. She just needed her [ERROR] to enter the lab.
"Felix and Teddy."
Felix squeezed Teddy’s hand again. His eyes cold and determined. Determined to be in danger. Why? And he's bringing his brother with him.
"I'm afraid I haven't been completely honest with you."
She turned away from them. Keep up the mask, tell a half truth. Just eli- save them. ERROR
"My mother experimented on these kids." Penny sniffled, "The… a document I read stated that your father's company sold her the chemicals she used-"
"We'll go!... Only to confirm that document is telling you lies!"
Penny couldn't even be mad when Teddy interrupted her. If that's what kept her friends safe, she can let him off on that.
"Then come along, we don’t have all day."
With that Penny went straight to the elevator. Her eye was scanned, allowing her and her… students into the elevator. Into safety.
She moved out of the way for her students to enter, it will be crowded, but it will be the only time they all go down the elevator together. It was quiet on the way down, too quiet. Penny surveyed her students.
Nervousness. Everyone was nervous. Penny didn't understand why they were nervous, they are all going to be safe. Penny smiled, even if they were nervous, they would soon feel joy. They will all be happy because she was helping them.
Ding
Slowly, everyone entered the lab. Sparkling clean, the lights flickered as Penny moved in and they dimmed. There was a pool of green goo, it was bright, it looked radioactive. To the right of the pool was a glass container… with a lone girl. She was sitting down, looking away from the elevator.
"Miss. Whatever you're here to do. I don’t care, just get it done."
She spoke monotone, almost unbothered. She fiddled with her hair, braiding it. Revealing wounds, little scabs from where syringes were.
Penny paused. Oh how she hurt you, Alice. Penny then tapped the glass. The girl did not respond, she didn't even look towards the sound. Penny wasn't sure how to respond.
She turned to her students. Most of them seemed nervous. Teddy and Felix were paying more attention to the pool of chemicals in the center of the lab. Ozzy was pulling at his hair as Madison and Ron were whispering quietly with each other. Penny smiled at Carla, Carla huffed.
"Alice. The principal is dead. We are here to save you."
The girl turned around. Her eyes were green, the same green as the chemicals. She looked uncertain about what Carla said.
"What’s the point of me leaving? I have no place to go. And it seems that little girl"
She pointed at Penny. Penny smiled wider.
"Will not let me."
Penny wanted to laugh. She could hear a few gasps behind her.
It is safety Alice, safety to keep everyone here. Good to know someone understands that.
Carla stared at Penny. A blank stare… before she spoke again, trying to keep her wavering voice stable.
"I'm sure that was because of her mother Alice! She wouldn't have let us come to save if she just wanted to trap us!"
Penny slipped back into the elevator. She needed to convince her students that they needed to stay. Just a little convincing… Just like the other principal her mother talked to, the one who was planning on transferring a kid to her mother for experimentation.
2 weeks earlier*note to self, I should move this section before the previous one, start with the Kg1 then transition to Kg2
The [redacted] kindergarten was a school for students for those who were showing extreme outbursts and aggression at a young age. A school to help your children if they were threats to themselves and others. It was considered a last resort school if public schools did not help.
Jerome was unsure why he had to go to this school, the only reason he was here was because his father owned it. But he kept his head up high, his father said he would be a good example to the students that arrived. This would also be his first time he interacted with kids his age, after all, his father didn't want anyone to ruin Jerome's innocence and his well behaved son.
But you can't shelter a kid as smart as Jerome for long, you also can't let him be lonely. So his father allowed him to go to kindergarten, under the condition that he stays at his father's school.
The courtyard was bland, and extremely empty. Only Jerome and the teacher his father hired, Jerome didn't really like her, but he refused to say anything about it.
Father doesn't accept complaints.
The first student arrived soon, well the first two. Jerome had snuck around to read the files of the new kids(he felt a little proud that he was able to that without his father noticing), so he knew each reason a kid was brought here.
The first boy was called Buggs, he was sent here for aggression, he had even brought a knife to his school multiple times. Jerome even knew that the boy even stabbed other kids. Buggs was chubby, he still held a knife with him. Jerome noticed the worn clothes he wore, patches in several places.
The second boy was called Nugget, no one knew his real name, he refused to tell anyone. He was here for an odd reason. Bullying, but he was the one being bullied though. Nugget never did anything wrong according to his file, but Buggs always defended Nugget when the bullying was at its worst at all of their schools together… Yet Buggs bullied Nugget as well, if others did the same, Buggs reacted violently for Nugget. Jerome didn't understand why Nugget had to come with Buggs, he assumed that it was easier to keep them together than for Nugget to be bullied at other schools.
Nugget had a lazy eye, he refused to look at Jerome or Buggs, he immediately darted towards the edge of the fence and stayed away. Passing Jerome as he tried to greet the new kids.
"Morning new kid! I'm Jerome, I hope you have a great time at this school."
Buggs didn’t respond, he made his way past Jerome as he entered the courtyard, Jerome pretended that he didn't care that he was ignored.
More kids arrived, four more kids. Jerome mentally recalled each student as they walked past him;
Cindy was a girl who had violent outbursts at other girls and boys she considered her 'boyfriends'. She also talked about things many kids shouldn't know at their age. She smiled cheerfully when Jerome greeted her.
Monty was sent here because he and a girl caused damage to their schools. He would also smuggle in goods with said girl, as well as 'experiment' on other students to follow the work of a teacher he used to have. The only reason the girl wasn’t here is because their parents feared that the two would escape the school before they could be ‘re-educated’, in his father’s words. Monty was too upset to talk to Jerome, Jerome understood.
A pair of twins, a boy and girl. Jerome didn't even notice they arrived until they were in the courtyard
It felt like too many for Jerome, how would his father expect to be the best example to this many kids?
If he had to choose, Lily and Billy would be the easiest to "re-educate" as his father phrased it.  After all, the reason they were here was because they snuck into schools and stole valuable documents from said schools. Jerome was rather jealous of them if he was being honest, he also didn't know why that meant they had to come here.
So many other kids, here for different reasons, and yet he would be the golden child to them all. He closed the gate of the courtyard, locking it as father reminded him to do. Today will be fun… Hopefully
The classroom was dull, in the sense it had little color. The most color it had was the brown trimming of the room and the one doll house behind the desks. Jerome wasn't used to this, he was homeschooled and always learned in his brightly-colored bedroom.
The teacher, Ms. Applegate didn't care what the students did. Jerome knew from experience, as long as you left her alone, you could do whatever you want. When she stated that the students should find a morning buddy to do something, Jerome wasn't surprised. Not surprised but scared, how does one talk to other kids, most of them being dangerous to others? He tried to reason with himself to just talk to one of them, just to be nice. But he didn't have to, for Monty talked to him first.
"So what did you do? You don't seem like the type to get into danger."
Jerome put on his best smile. Going straight for the money huh? That's cool.
"Well, uhm."
Jerome whispered the next part, some part of him told him not to let the whole class know,
"My father is the principal, I'm Jerome by the way! Ah- What did you do, new kid?"
Monty eyed him, green eyes scanning every part of Jerome.
"Oh, just some property damage and poisoning a few students. I'm sad I couldn't dissect one, but I might find someone here. The name is Monty."
He smiled as he talked about what he did, so calm and casual.
"Also, buddy don’t tell anyone you're the principal's kid. Some people might use that against you."
Jerome nodded, interesting, but good to know!
"Hold on, this is the first time I've seen you Jerome. Did you just move here?"
"Oh no. Dad says that if I went to school too early I would be 'poisoned by the other students.' I don't get what he was saying though."
Monty rolled his eyes,  "So he decided that you should go to a school where he 're-educates' people like me? He sounds dumb."
Jerome muttered, 'don't talk about my dad like that'.
“Well that’s why I’m here. Ain’t that ridiculous?”
“My dad just talks funny. I’m sure he doesn’t mean to phrase it like… that."

Okay so y’know how in the kg Swap!AU their roles and relationships are changed?
Yeah so basically that means Penny and Cindy are twins, Ted and Felix are friends in this AU for some reason, Kidd and Buggs are siblings(not twins), Billy and Lily’s relationship is complicated and etc etc
But I made this post for a reason. That reason being the missions in both games
The characters keep their missions but because their personalities and stuff are different, the plot of the mission is different
But that makes it weird because the teachers also have missions and the staff are included in quite a few missions so… YEAH THEY’RE ALSO SWAPPED AROUND
Ms. Applegate - Bob
Danner - The Janitor
Female Principal - The lunch lady
The Principal - Ms. Margaret
The Hall monitor - Stevie (Literally ran out of other characters unless you want me to swap Stevie with DIANA OF ALL THINGS MEANING THAT HALL MON IS SWAPPED WITH AGNES… But because yeah, Agnes is just the same)

I vision other tan and deeper much than tan early Baroque-like men who (seeing themselves still strut-- lessly groping, winding down subterranean grottoes of injustice,
down dark spirals) feel with such tortuous, smoked-stone grey intensity that they exhale a hurricane of gargoyles, then reel into them.
I see these others boggling in their misery and wish this elevator artisan would fill his flourishing form with warmth for them and turn his lettered zeal toward lifting them above their crippling storm."

"Paradoxically, what made post-punk music culture so positive was its capacity to express negativity –a negativity thereby de-privatised & de-naturalised. In the lack of such outlets, negative affect now is internalised, generating a suppressed sadness behind a mandatory enjoyment" --@k_punk_unlife (via @mckenziewark)
