Staying the Night Prompts
❝ i don’t have nightmares when you’re there. ❞ (Loki/Bucky)
“We should probably get some rest.”
Bucky managed a lazy grin and an equally lazy nod at Steve’s words, but made no effort to rise from the long sofa in Stark’s penthouse lounge. The tower wasn’t exactly home, but it was the place everyone came to recuperate and get a warm meal, especially after returning from a mission. Bucky and Steve had only come back a few hours ago from their latest mission, providing some not necessarily needed support for Shuri and the Wakandans. Who knew stopping human traffickers could cause so many body aches. A slight shift on the seat to sit up and he knew there was definitely a bruised rib somewhere.
“I’ll head back in a bit.” He said with a soft groan, falling back against the cushions.
“Aren’t you tired?” Steve questioned from beside him. When he frowned the cut above his eyebrow stung and he tapped a finger to it a few times, pulling his hand back to look at it. Not bleeding anymore.
Bucky nodded even as he verbally answered, “Yeah, exhausted. I just wanna finish my beer.” He gave the bottle a little shake. “It’s nice to be back within four solid walls though.” And to sit in front of a fire he didn’t have to start or worry about putting out, he thought, as he stared at the flames in the hearth before them.
“Sure is. No rough blankets on the ground tonight. Well,” Steve sighed after a moment. He reached out and clapped a hand to Bucky’s shoulder. “Thanks for covering me out there. You saved my ass.” Bucky lifted bright blue eyes to his, narrowed an eye. “Again,” Steve conceded with that boyish smirk.
Bucky chuckled, nodded, and wished Steve a good night as he brought the Budweiser bottle to his lips. Steve slowly rose with a groan and walked directly into the waiting elevator.
It still amazed Bucky that Stark willingly allowed this ragtag group of vigilantes, spies, a former winter soldier, and others to freely come and go from his tower, using it as a makeshift Avengers Hotel. The billionaire himself kept a small apartment among the smaller bungalows at the place he’d once used as a homebase for his company, but, for the most part, Stark slept in a room off his lab, never too far away from his work — if he slept at all. But everyone left that to Bruce and Rhodey to deal with.
Finishing off his beer, Bucky pushed himself to his feet, careful not to strain any more muscles than he already had, and after rinsing it out, deposited the bottle into the recycle bin. Judging by its nearly full capacity, the tower’s rooms must’ve been equally full tonight. Too wiped to think about who might be milling around in the morning, Bucky headed for the elevator, stifling a yawn. He watched the numbers slowly descend to his floor — the same as Steve’s, but on the other opposite side of the building — contemplating how long he might let himself sleep before he got started on his report the next day.
He was planning it all out as he walked to his door, absently pulling out the key, and unlocking the door. The moment he stepped inside he sensed something was different than when he left it. The apartment assigned to him was larger than the one he kept in Brooklyn, but it was just as sparsely decorated. In his line of business, it wasn’t exactly ideal to plant roots or get attached to anything. The room here and now was lit only by the pale blue moonlight streaming through the tall, wide windows displaying the city and off in the distance, the Brooklyn Bridge.
Bucky wondered if he should’ve just gone home as he scanned the room and moved silently to the bedroom door. It was less than a half hour by subway. Pulling his gun from its strap, safety off, Bucky listened for any sounds even as his eyes scanned the area before pushing the door open and aiming the gun at his bed.
Seeing the hint of pale fingers rising in a surrender gesture in the shadows of one corner, Bucky locked and re-holstered the gun with an exasperated noise.
“What the fuck, Loki?”
Dressed in his usual casual outfit of a green tunic and black pants, Loki emerged from the corner and crossed his arms. “I was only awaiting your return. I didn’t realize you’d come in guns a-blazing like — what do they call them? Cowboys?”
Bucky scoffed and began to remove his gear, dumping it on the dark tufted chair beside his dresser. “What are you doing here? How’d you even get in?”
It was Loki’s turn to scoff. “Hello? I’m a god, remember? I can go anywhere I please. Your human locks are like Odin’s fatherly approval to me: nonexistent.”
Bucky jerked his head back. “Well, that got dark fast,” he muttered, finally dropping the last of his weapons. He gripped his shirt, tugging it free from his pants, then reached for his belt. “Is there something you need? ‘Cause I just got back from—”
“A mission in Wakanda, I know,” Loki finished, his voice lowered. “How is Shuri? I’ve missed…talking shop with her. Her technology is impressive. Even to an As—well, a former Asgardian.”
Bucky kicked off his second boot and stopped, watching Loki with more focused eyes. “What’s wrong?”
Loki raised his head, lifting a brow. “Must something be wrong? Are we not friends? Can’t I simply wish to welcome you—“
“Lokes.”
Loki took a long beat before he smirked, chuckling a little, and lowered to the foot of the bed. “Nothing’s wrong. Honestly. I was just…eager to say hello. Thought you might want to talk. Maybe shake off the mission. You must be hurt. I can hear you trying not to groan with every movement.”
Bucky went still then, realizing Loki was right, he moaned a little as he let out the breath he’d been holding. He was really feeling the aches now. As if his body knew the bed was so close. “I’m fine, Loki. It’s just taking a little longer for me to heal, that’s all. But, really, I’m just looking forward to collapsing into bed.” He moved to the dresser behind him to grab a pair of sweatpants and a fresh shirt from the drawers.
“Oh, well, don’t let me get in your way.” Loki crossed one leg over the other, seemingly planting himself in that spot.
Bucky, with his back turned to Loki, grinned a little to himself, unbuttoning his pants and kicking them aside once they dropped. “We said we were gonna stop,” he said as he slipped on the sweatpants.
The silence was blaring behind him. To give Loki whatever time he needed, Bucky stripped off his shirt and slipped a clean one over his head, and piled his soiled clothes in the corner along with his socks.
“I know what we said,” came the reply finally.
Tying the drawstring on his pants, Bucky turned to face Loki. He noted how Loki wouldn’t meet his eyes, turning his face away, toward the windows. The moon shone brighter at this angle, lighting up the part of Bucky’s room open to the windows. And Bucky could see Loki’s face now, that it was paler than usual, with dark circles under his eyes and his cheeks a little hollower than usual.
Sensing his appointment with sleep was about to be delayed, Bucky crossed over to sit beside Loki on the bed. “So what’d you get up to while I was gone?” he asked casually.
“Not much,” Loki answered with a shrug, still looking out the window. “Worked on some spells, conjured up some new tinctures. Avoided Thor.”
Bucky laughed quietly, the bed shaking with the movement. “He was here?”
“Only for a few hours, Hail Frigga,” Loki said with a dry laugh that grew more genuine when Bucky chuckled too.
“Loki,” Bucky murmured after their laughter died down.
Loki’s smile faded, and he lowered his eyes. “Please,” he all but whispered.
Bucky grinned lopsidedly, but bit his lip. “You said no more.”
“I know. I lied.”
Bucky snickered and dropped his head on Loki’s shoulder. He was just so tired. “You told me not to let you anymore,” he whispered.
Loki turned his head, nuzzling his cheek against Bucky’s nose. “You shouldn’t listen to me. I’m an idiot.”
“Lokes,” he snorted. Bucky slipped his hand into Loki’s, felt his cold skin cool against his warm palm. “You’re not an idiot. And I wouldn’t be a very good friend if I didn’t listen to you.”
Loki nudged him with his elbow. Bucky only groaned softly and closed his heavy eyes, comfortable enough in Loki’s presence to let his guard down.
“I’m barely hanging on here, babe. You should probably go back to your room.”
Loki turned his body toward Bucky’s, clutching his hand tightly between his own in his lap. “I don’t want to. Just one more night, James. Please? I know what I’m asking…”
“Do you?” Bucky sat up and released Loki’s hand, so he could balance himself.
For the first time that night, Loki met Bucky’s gaze. Even through his tiredness and the pale moonlight, Bucky could see Loki was equally as exhausted as he. He hasn’t slept, he realized with a spark of concern. Hard as he tried, Bucky couldn’t stop himself from worrying about Loki.
“Look, Loki—”
He held up a hand to cut Bucky off. “No, I know. I know I don’t make this any easier for you.” He uncrossed his legs and turned away from Bucky. “I don’t mean to be selfish, you know. I don’t mean to hurt you. It’s just that…”
Bucky waited for the answer, but none came. “What?” he urged, nudging Loki’s arm with his fingers.
Loki inhaled deeply and turned his eyes to Bucky’s again, and with a quiver to his voice, he said, “I don’t have nightmares when you’re there.”
Bucky swallowed thickly. “Oh.” The revelation was one thing. They’d initially bonded over their shared experiences with torture and brainwashing. Few, if any, of the others could relate. But the tears clinging to Loki’s long black lashes was quite another. Bucky hadn’t seen Loki so vulnerable before. He wasn’t at all sure what to do, but to scratch at his head with the metal fingers, searching for the right words. “Um…”
Loki shifted and Bucky saw the moment he shut down and that cool mask slid into place. His dark emerald green eyes cleared instantly, his lips, already thin, thinned even further. “Forget it. Forget I said anything. Forget this ever happened. I’ll go.”
“No!” Bucky shouted the word, grasping for Loki’s arm as he rose and tugging so hard, the sleeve of his tunic ripping cut into the silence between them. “Shit!” Bucky shot up to his feet, but only stammered out an apology and held out the torn piece of his tunic to Loki.
Loki took it and clenched his jaw. “James, I’m getting rather mixed signals from you.” In one long sweep of his hand, Loki’s tunic was repaired and the ripped piece disappeared. “You won’t allow me to have a restful night’s sleep in your bed, yet you seem eager to quite literally rip my clothes off.”
Bucky slapped the non-metal palm to his face. “I swear, I didn’t mean to do that. And I was going to tell you that it’s fine, you can stay here. I just got a little thrown off by the tears in your eyes.” He started to turn away, but decided he had more to say. “And you know what? Speaking of mixed signals, what kind are you sending to me exactly? I mean, you know very well how I feel about you and you continuously torture me by coming to my room and begging to sleep — just sleep! — in my bed, beside me, all long legs and silky hair, and I’m doing my damndest to be a gentleman and be understanding because we are friends, but it’s fucking killing me when I wake up and there you are, just causally wrapped around my—“
It took Bucky’s brain a good five seconds to compute that his epic rant had been cut short by Loki, and that he was now currently being lovingly and tenderly kissed by the longtime object of his affection. As Loki’s lips pressed against his, Bucky slowly sank into the kiss, taking the opportunity to deepen it and pull Loki’s body against his.
Needing the air to breathe, and realizing what he was doing, Bucky took one giant step back.
“What is happening right now?”
Loki swiped a finger across his bottom lip. “Well, something that was a long time coming, I think. Don’t you?”
Bucky relaxed, glared. “Don’t be a dick.” Loki cocked a brow, this time in confusion, and Bucky scoffed. “Don’t act like you don’t know what I mean. You’re practically BFFs with Stark and he’s the sassiest bitch in this place. So I know you’re learning some shit.” He looked up and caught the smile lighting up Loki’s face. “What does this mean?”
Loki’s expression turned thoughtful as he closed the distance between them and ran his hands up Bucky’s chest to wrap around his neck underneath the dark brown strands of his hair. “I think what it means, darling, is that your love is no longer unrequited.”
Bucky gawked at Loki. “Really?” he asked, his voice soft. Loki nodded and leaned in to kiss him again. But just as their lips touched Bucky sprang back. “Is this just because of the nightmares?”
Loki laughed, throwing his head back. “No. Well, not entirely.” He breathed out a sigh, as if a weight had been lifted from him, and kept his hands at Bucky’s chest. “I suppose it took me a little while to realize how stupid I would be to keep denying what I was feeling.”
Their eyes met and Bucky felt his stomach flip at the expression in Loki’s gaze. “But why—?”
“I’m not very good at this, James. Physically, it’s not difficult to navigate. But everything else that goes with it…” Loki turned his face again and nearly stepped away from Bucky. But Bucky was there, keeping a tight grip on him. “I ruined whatever it was between Fandral and I, and I—I ruined him. He can barely stand the sight of me now. I don’t want that to happen with you.”
“It won’t.” Loki skeptically angled his head and Bucky grinned. “I’m not great at this either, okay? Back in my day, I couldn’t do this. Not without major consequences. And I never really knew anyone I was willing to risk it with. Until you.”
“How romantic of you,” Loki murmured with his signature facetiousness.
“Shut up, Mischief. I’m saying, we don’t have to sneak around anymore, right? We also don’t have to rush into anything neither of us isn’t ready for. So…” He ran a finger down the side of Loki’s face. “How ‘bout we just see where it goes, okay, doll?”
Loki fluttered his lashes, swooning. “I do love it when you call me that.”
This time, Bucky let the kiss happen, wrapping both of his arms around Loki and holding him tight. He laughed against Loki’s mouth when the nimble god leapt up and wrapped his legs around Bucky’s waist.
“Um, off to bed then?”
“Hm, I thought you were tired?”
Bucky let out a low growl, near purr, at Loki’s fingers carding through his hair. “I might’ve gotten a second wind.”

Sorry that took a minute. I had the idea as soon as you sent the ask, I just wasn't able to get it down until last night (Wednesday) and I didn't get to read what I wrote at three o'clock in the morning and edit until tonight (Thursday). Felt kinda nice to write some WinterFrost again!
LMK if y'all want me to post this on AO3. Then I might have at least one fic posted this year, lol.

4, 11 (Frostiron and Winteriron), 17 (Loki), 22 (Tony Stark), 25 (Bucky Barnes)
4. Is there a popular pairing you don't necessarily dislike but aren't too invested in?
Not that I can think of. There are a lot I dislike and I won't invest any time in and go so far as to block the ship name and any variants so I don't have to see art or headcanons, etc, about it. So if it's not blocked and I see it and I think the art is cool I guess that means I don't dislike it? I often share it even if it's a ship I don't necessarily involve myself in. Like I don't write for SamBucky or SamTasha, or Stony (although I've apparently blocked Stony, tho I'm not sure when that happened lol), but if I see cool art I'll share it. But yeah....there's a lot I avoid by all means.
11. What's your favorite piece of fanart?
OMG HOW CAN YOU MAKE ME CHOOSE?! I literally have more than 600 pix of fanart for FrostIron -- some made specifically for me -- and 134 of WinterFrost. Anything by @batwynn and lightonlight I love. And you'll probably laugh but this is one of my favorites for FrostIron.
Tumblr media
As for WinterFrost...I seem to have made a lot more edits for this ship than any other LOL. But millennium-h always did the BEST edits for WF, including making those pix of Hiddles kissing someone on the rocks MUCH BETTER (sadly, they left the fandom not too long ago). And like with FI, I have a lot of faves, but this is one I really enjoyed.
Tumblr media
and one to go along with it
Tumblr media
17. What's a book, movie, or show you think [Loki] would like?
I think it's obvious that Loki would be all over Shakespeare and any adaptation of his works. And he'd probably critique it better than Shakespearean scholars themselves. But I think that mischievous and love of chaos side of him would probably also be really into trash reality TV. Like the Real Housewives franchise. He'd have watch parties and hours-long discussions afterwards and everyone would be shocked by how accurate his psychoanalysis is. Because if there's anything people who are used to being overlooked and ignored can do it's read other people's emotions.
22. Give us a headcanon for [Tony Stark].
Aw man. I'm terrible at headcanons! I don't even know, man. Maybe that despite all his bravado (or overconfidence to cover for his insecurity) and need to prove himself to Howard, there's still enough of Maria in him that emerges in his tendency to take "lost" souls under his wing, not even to mentor but to give them a hand? Happy (loss of his boxing career, so he gave him a job), Peter, obvs, and even Steve, who he reluctantly helped bc y'know resentment. I say that's Maria bc considering how difficult Howard as a person was, who the fuck else could see anything redeeming enough to marry and have a child with him? She had to see something under the surface, yeah?
Idk. Told you I don't do headcanons. LOL
25. What's your least favorite thing [Bucky Barnes] said or did?
Killed Tony's parents??? IDK, there isn't much I dislike about Bucky, except that they didn't let him kiss Steve! I'm honestly just glad they never included that relationship from the comic in the movies bc I despise that actress and it would've bothered me to watch her shitty flirt-acting and whatever with Sebastian. It was bad enough with Fluffalo. Ick.
Thanks for asking!!

Let's Get ((REAL)) fic writer asks
🌈🎉🤍
🌈 is there a fic that you worked *really fucking hard on* that no one would ever know? maybe a scene/theme you struggled with?
I struggled the entire time trying to get through Ghosts That We Knew, the conclusion to the Picture Perfect series. I honestly hadn't planned to write a whole ass trilogy. Dark Side was the only one I had an idea for, and then halfway through, people wanted more. So I started planning the sequel, Come Back to Me. I'm not a fan of duologies. Trilogies just make more sense. So I started thinking up plots for the third entry. Where could Tony and Loki go after marrying and having two kids (one through a relationship, the other through a surrogate)? What kind of problems would they face? I had no idea, lol. I knew I wanted to insert another kid (Audrey Maria or "Audi"), but I also wanted to show that after 8 years and 3 kids, even the most in-love couples have bad times. I'd gotten about halfway through and just blanked on where to go. It didn't help I was having outside issues -- my RP partner (whom I was in love with) and I were having issues, I was stressing about school, and my dad was having health problems at the time. Oh, and I was struggling to RP too. But I was able to pull something out in the end. And everyone seemed to enjoy it. 😁
🎉how often do you celebrate completing & posting a work? how often do you give yourself the credit/validation that you seek from others when you post? (if you don’t, you should!)
Umm....I'm not sure what "celebrate" means?? I might give myself a mental high five? Say yay? LOL
🤍what’s one fic of yours you think people didn’t “get”?
It's not a fic that's completed, nor is it posted on AO3 anymore, but it's Fools Rush In. It was Frostiron set in the Matthew Perry/Salma Hayek movie. First time I was writing fem!Loki and even tho I only published like 4 or 5 chapters, I got complaints that Loki was "too feminist" and "obsessed with her dad's [Odin's] opinions about what a woman her age should be doing." To be clear, Loki was a 28yo grad student who'd been adopted by the Odinsons as a baby and at 13, chose to search for her birth parents who were teenagers when she was born. She was the youngest in the Odinson clan (Thor and Baldur being older) and the oldest in the Laufeyson family (Helblindi and Býleistr were much younger). And the only girl. So Odin certainly had a lot of opinions about her needing to be settled and married, not living with her bestie (Natasha) in an apartment in a big city.
This isn't the reason the fic is incomplete, tho! I removed it, along with four other fics, from AO3 and ff.net bc I'd reached a block on all of them and I felt bad just letting them sit there unfinished. I do hope to complete them someday. But we'll see. Here's a banner I made for it, when I still thought Olivia Wilde was a good choice for fem!Loki. I do not anymore.
Tumblr media
And this one was made by a fan (@/tomhiddlesdarling), and as much as I loved it, I'm not big on Eva Green.

First Lines
Thanks to @mischief-and-tea-by-the-sea for the tag! 💜
rules: list the first line(s) of your last 10 (or however many you have) posted fics and see if there’s a pattern!
"I don't have nightmares when you're there"
"We should probably get some rest."
Bucky managed a lazy grin and an equally lazy nod at Steve’s words but made no effort to rise from the long sofa in Stark’s penthouse lounge. The tower wasn’t exactly home, but it was the place where everyone came to recuperate and get a warm meal, especially after returning from a mission. Bucky and Steve had only come back a few hours ago from their latest mission, providing some not-necessarily-needed support for Shuri and the Wakandans. Who knew stopping human traffickers could cause so many body aches? A slight shift on the seat to sit up and he knew there was definitely a bruised rib somewhere.
2. The Christmas Date
"I need your help."
Loki stared at the man in the doorway for a good five seconds, lips a thin red line and perfectly groomed black brows arched in curiosity. The man, a neighbor a door or two down the hall, was very tall and handsome, Loki thought, taking the time to look him over, lips turning up in a soft grin.
"Good evening to you, too, 9B."
3. "Sorry I'm late" from 100 Ways to Say ILY prompt list
Of the many duties Loki performed for the Allfather, at the bottom of the list was keeping watch on one tiny all-night diner.  A favorite of his late mother’s, the Allfather purchased it shortly after her death to appease his mourning sons. Located in a less than stellar area of the neighborhood, it took Loki roughly thirty minutes to walk to it from his homey yet tiny apartment. He found it was easy to use for meetings, pickups and drop-offs, and the like. And the food happened to be better than one would expect, and Loki didn’t always have the time to cook for himself as he wished. Nor did he have the patience for baking, and the diner boasted a killer assortment of desserts.
4. "Take my jacket, it's cold outside" from 100 Ways to Say ILY
Tony watched the lights of New York pass under the small airplane window, for the second time in three days. He wasn’t supposed to be leaving so soon, but the trip out east didn’t go quite the way he’d expected. Ironically, the anxiety that had filled him when he boarded the plane in Los Angeles had eased away now, replaced by a strange sense of emptiness. And a broken heart.
5. "You can have half" from 100 Ways to Say ILY
Tony burst through the kitchen’s swinging door, nearly tripping as he stumbled to get ahold of himself and spun around to look back out into the dining area. People wandered around the large dining table, picking at the snacks, and pouring drinks. One half was covered with bowls and trays of food, the other with bottles and jugs, large and small, of various liquors and a few liters of different sodas. If Maria Stark succeeded at teaching her son anything in the short time she had with him, it was how to host a good party.
6. "I'm sorry for your loss" from 100 Ways to Say ILY
“How are they handling this?” Sif’s voice was soft as she approached Frigga. They were standing in the kitchen, Frigga watching her two grown sons as they greeted the family, friends, and strangers she wasn’t ready to face yet into the home she once shared with her husband. Her heart ached at the thought that she would be sleeping alone again in their bed tonight.
7. Take A Bow
Loki rushed through the narrow hallway, coughing to clear his throat of the makeshift fog that filled the stage for the final moments of the play. By the time he reached the haven of his dressing room, his neck tie was undone and his shirt was half unbuttoned. The hurried shouts and stomps of people working backstage were blissfully drowned out as Darcy, his new young assistant, quickly closed the door behind him.
8. "I saved you a piece." from 100 Ways to Say ILY
Tony was in a bad place again. Thankfully, Loki had been with him long enough to recognize the telltale signs of an oncoming episode, varied as they could be. And he'd learned, through no easy trials, how to care for his beloved, what to do and not do, how to get him to eat and drink even when he didn’t want to. Loki was only grateful he could handle Tony.
9. "Take my seat" from 100 Ways to Say ILY
Loki loathed the schoolbus.
If Odin and Frigga would just trust him with a car, he wouldn’t have to depend on Thor to get home. Or suffer through the indignity of boarding the bus with the nerds and geeks of the freshman and sophomore variety. He wasn’t the only upperclassman who rode the bus, sure, but it was still embarrassing.
10. "I dreamt about you last night" from 100 Ways to Say ILY
“I dreamt about you last night.”
Tony smiled softly, affectionately.
“I don’t know where we were. Didn’t feel like Earth. Maybe it was some far off, distant place you visited a millennia ago. A galaxy far, far away,” he joked halfheartedly. “It was beautiful though. I’ve never seen a sky so blue. I think the atmosphere was…I don’t know. Different? You were…”
He looked up, grinning wistfully, remembering.
“Your skin was blue. With these markings. You told me about them once. When the light of the moons hit you…it was like snow glistening in the sun. You shined.”
Ok, so I did more than one line. Sue me. I don't follow rules well sometimes. 😁
Tagging @ishipanarmada @rabentochter @qwanderer @bouncydragon and anyone else who wants to play.

2, 6, 13, 22, 29
2. an indie film.
You know, I'm actually pretty late to the indie film genre. It wasn't until my mom got a Netflix account that I started watching more "indie" films -- mostly just non-major studio movies sometimes with no-name or up-and-coming stars and often LGBTQIA-themed. A couple of my fave indie movies are Weekend -- which is actually the movie that inspired my WinterFrost fic Stay With Me; Boy Meets Girl -- which was one of the first movies I saw with a transgender actor playing a transgender role (and also stars Michael Welch from Twilight); Redwoods -- which was the idea behind my FrostIron fic Empire State of Mind; and ofc, My Big Fat Greek Wedding!
6. a film released before 1970.
Ok, well, three of my favorite movies of all time were made in 1934, 1939, and 1944. (That's Gone with the Wind, It Happened One Night, and Double Indemnity). I grew up watching my mom's favorite musicals of the 1950s and 60s. My mom liked to show me, especially, all of her favorite films from her childhood.
13. a film whose main genre is drama.
OMG where do i start tho? Drama (next to action) is one of my fave genres. I'm a total nut for an Oscar bait movie and up until a few years ago, I used to watch every single movie nominated in the Big 6 awards (Acting categories, Directing, and Film) and my mom and I used to print out ballots and compete. IDK, google best dramas of all time and I probably have watched and love them all.
22. a film that is a novel/film adaptation.
One of my fave films, like it's in my Top 5 movies, is Atonement. And even though it's not the happiest of films (it's downright tragic, really), what I love the most is how close to the book it stayed. They even pulled dialogue directly from the book (not all adaptations do this). My nerdy ass even did a presentation for my Narrative in Literature and Film on the movie.
29. a film to feel good/uplifted.
uhh,,,,idk cuz my sister and i will literally watch disaster movies when we're in a good mood. lol like we watch the Day After Tomorrow, San Andreas, and 2012 on the regular bc they're out comfort movies.
Thanks for asking!

14: Biggest turn offs
Arrogance. I appreciate humor and I don't get offended easily. But make a joke about the LGBTQ+ community or women or POC or a differently abled person, I'll literally walk away from you and talk shit about you to every person I know.
19: A fact about your personality
I am super opinionated. LOL. To the point that I probably annoy people. But as a female, the youngest child, and in my adulthood, unmarried and not having spewed a human from my loins, various people -- related and not -- have let me know in explicit and implicit ways that my thoughts and opinions don't mean anything. I've been dismissed, talked over, ignored, etc. So since I've fought my entire life to be heard, I make sure people hear me. Whether they want to or not.
25: My idea of a perfect date
Dude, I don't know. I don't date. And the only actual date I've ever been on was to get frozen yogurt with my then-fiance only hours after we met face-to-face for the first time. (We'd known each other for four years; we just lived 5,000 miles apart)
32: What words upset me the most
I don't know that any words upset me. Phrasing. Tone. Decibel levels. Those grate. Telling me I "better do" something is the fastest way to get me to sit on my fat ass and do nothing. With a smile. lol
42: The last thing I ate
Spicy chicken fritters with a side of a loaded potato bake. YUM.

Blue, Purple, Green, definitely.
Oh my god??? These are so ACCURATE. 😂😂😂
blue = am i haunting you or are you haunting me?
purple = people have heard the rumors, they look around cautiously. you avoid their eyes.
green = creature in the forest, you mind your business if others mind theirs.

1. Do you listen to music when you write?
I used to when I first started writing. Mostly Christina Aguilera. For some reason, her music had the pen flowing, lol. But since the majority of my fics (like practically all of them) are either written around or directly based off a song, I usually listen to that song on repeat to sort of keep myself in the zone. All of my *NSYNC fics are titled after one of their songs. My first Frostiron series, the Picture Perfect series, are all titled after a song that somehow influenced the plot. Dark Side by Kelly Clarkson, Come Back to Me by Janet Jackson, and Ghosts That We Knew by Mumford and Sons. Even my first WinterFrost, Stay With Me was sprung from the Sam Smith song. Music plays a heavy hand in my writing. The fic series I'm currently working on came from We're A Miracle by Xtina, Lose Myself by JC Chasez, and unfortunately (Another Song) All Over Again by Justin Timberlake.
18. If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be, and what would you write about?
I'm not sure. I've collaborated before on RP stuff, but the writing and real-life feelings kind of blended. Even though I enjoyed RPing, relying on someone else's narrative causes me a lot of anxiety lol.
27.  Favourite line/scene
I can't even try to choose from my own writing! And I couldn't begin to pick lines from fics I read more than a decade ago. But some fave fics are Shades of Green, Off the Record, and Always Read the Fine Print.
28.  Favourite side character
Clint. Love him.
32.  Most difficult character to write
Anyone who isn't Loki, Tony, or Bucky. They're the three I've researched the most, comics and movie-wise, so I know them best.
49.  Which character would you most want to be friends with, if they were real?
Loki, Tony, or Bucky lol
Thanks for asking!

❤️‍🩹🍻🤰🏼🌉👩🏽‍❤️‍💋‍👨🏾
🍄 ⇢ share a head canon for one of your favourite ships or pairings
idk...i'm not really good at head canoning lol
🍦 ⇢ name three good things about a character you hate
she was a pretty good queen i guess
she gave birth to Leia
she had cool hair
🧩 ⇢ what will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately?
i will nope out of anything tagged with daddy kink. I will nope out if the characters are so OOC it sounds more like maybe someone the author knows than the actual character. i try to give stripper AUs a try but sometimes the characterization makes the character trashy. Just because someone strips does not make them trashy. That's all I can think of right now.

A, C, L, and U
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.
I'm forever and always going to love FrostIron, WinterFrost, WinterIron, Stucky, and a whole bunch of other Marvel ships. Since I'm currently not working on any fanfic, the ship I currently like a lot doesn't have a ship name. It's the main characters of my original WIP: Alexandra "Xan" Duquesne and Jackson D'Andre "JD" Avery. They're childhood besties (his dad and her mom were BFFs in college), teenage lovers, and as adults they suffer from being idiots in love. Did I mention he was in a boyband? Yeah. It's based off of an *NSYNC fanfic, so. They're my babies at the moment.
C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will.
Uhh...a few. Pepperony, WinterWidow, or any ship involving Doctor Strange.
L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves. (Characters you’re neutral about are fair game, as are characters you merely dislike. Characters that you absolutely loathe with the fire of ten thousand suns are exempt, as there is no point in giving yourself an aneurysm over a character that you hate.)
Both Natasha Romanov and Pepper Potts are BAMF women. I genuinely adore the characters in the comics and most times in fanfic. But I absolutely hate their portrayals in the MCU. I'll leave it at that.
U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.
So I'm kind of exhausted. I'll name three characters for three different fandoms but I'm totally not explaining why they're my faves. If you know me, it should make sense, LOL.
Marvel: Tony Stark, Loki, Bucky Barnes
Star Wars: Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, General Leia Organa
Doctor Who: the Tenth Doctor, Rose Tyler, Martha Jones

Amsterdam: What is your ideal night out?
Umm...I don't go out? LOL but I mean, if I do, with my buddies, we tend to do the same thing. Get some food and if there's one nearby, we go to Barnes & Noble and walk off the food. Considering this is what I used to do on Saturdays with my mom... it's my thing, I guess.
Madrid: Describe your aesthetic.
I honestly have no idea.
Rio: What’s your favorite alcoholic drink?
Anything with tequila! And Midori Sours. My mom let me try hers when I was 13 and I've loved them ever since.
Sorry that took me so long to answer! Been busy lately.

Fic Passage Game: From "You can have half."
Say something, you idiot.
“How have you —“
“Happy Birth —“
They started to speak at the same time and followed it up with an awkward chuckle.
“Sorry.”
Loki grinned. “I was just going to say happy birthday.”
“Oh. Thank you. Here’s to twenty-four, eh?” He mock-toasted with a tootsie roll, making Loki laugh, and took a bite of it. “So, Thor’s here? I didn’t see him around.”
“He’s here,” Loki answered, nodding. “He’s probably in one of your dozens of bedrooms upstairs. His girlfriend from back home accompanied us, so...”
“Girlfriend? Since when?”
Loki smirked. “They broke up after high school, when he left for college. They didn’t think the long distance would work since she stayed to go to a school closer to home. He went back to visit a few months ago and ran into her at the shop she manages. They hadn’t seen each other in a while, but sparks flew again, I guess.”
“Hm,” Tony hummed leaning on the counter with one hand. “Well, good for him. She cute?”
A snort escaped Loki, more at Tony than the question itself. “Yes, actually, she’s beautiful. If I was into girls…”
Tony’s brows rose, his expression impressed. “Oh really?” They both enjoyed a laugh when Loki blushed again. After their laughter faded, though, it got awkwardly quiet again. Tony tried to think of something to get Loki talking again — because holy fuck his voice did things to him — and he managed to say the first thing that came to mind. “How’s it going with that Bucky guy?”
The humor faded from Loki’s face and Tony wondered if that was a subject he wasn’t supposed to approach. Loki cleared his throat. “Erm, we’re not — that didn’t — we didn’t really see each other for very long.”
“Oh…?” He’d heard through mutual friends that Loki had started seeing some long-haired, motorcycle riding baseball player about a month after they stopped seeing each other. He wasn’t jealous at all. But he also wasn’t mad that they couldn’t make it work either. “So, what was it? No connection? Busy schedules?”
Loki looked down at his lap, a wide grin curving his lips. “No,” he said on a chuckle. “I just didn’t stand a chance after he met the quarterback of the football team. They’ve been together since Spring Break.”
Tony stared, brown eyes wide, almost comically. “Shut up, he’s dating Rogers now? Wait. I thought Rogers was with that British chick. You know? The pretty one.”
Loki shook his head. “No, they broke up last year, before summer. Peggy went back to England for the break and met someone. An American, from Los Angeles. Her name is Angie, if I recall.”
“Really? Wow.” Tony scratched his fingers through the short, dark hairs covering his chin, contemplating all this new information. “What the hell is in the water here? Is everybody gay now?”
Loki chuckled. “I believe they would be considered bisexual. But…yes. Peggy is looking into transferring to a school in Los Angeles.”
Tony’s only response was to raise his brows. “Oh, shit. Well, good for her, too.”
“Mm,” Loki hummed in agreement.
“You sure got the lowdown on everybody, huh.”
“Not everybody,” Loki murmured, his lips just barely curving. A chill went up Tony’s spine as their eyes met and he had to look away. “I don’t really talk to a lot of people. I tend to…fade into the background. They forget I’m there and…they talk. I listen. I watch.”
This could have totally been an experience for me in my early 20s. And I wrote it with the people I knew at that time in mind.
I was a part of a band sorority that worked together with a band fraternity (technically my group was a frat too bc it was formed before sororities were a thing but y’know sexism). My sister became a Sister two semesters before me. Her boyfriend (future ex-hubby) and the guy who would be my first boyfriend (future ex) and my current BFF of 20+yrs would become Brothers the semester before I rushed. As you can imagine, having two groups of 20-30yrs old in close proximity 24/7 meant there were a lot of relationships happening — and a lot of swapping.
It was, rather, incestuous. But anyway…that’s kind of what I had in mind when Loki is recalling where everyone’s at romantically.
I wrote this one pretty quickly bc I just knew where to take it. Glad you liked it!

Bat, Black Cat, Crow
bat - what animal would be your familiar?
Probably a white tiger. My horoscope would say a Scorpion. But creepy crawly no thank you.
black cat - if you could possess a magical ability, what would it be?
IDK. I'd want whatever ability Sally and Gilly Owens had in Practical Magic.
crow - how do you think others see you?
I've never really thought about it. I think people think I'm quiet -- which I am, until I'm comfortable with you. I think bc I've always been kinda chunky and kinda plain other (added to the quiet) other girls/women saw me as mousy or a pushover. Then they'd condescendingly call me Sweetie or Mija and my inner bitch was unleashed. I know others have immediately thought me a bitch. My first boyfriend did bc I had apparently barged past him to my instrument locker to put away my trombone after band practice...while he was waiting for others to finish. Not my fault he chose to wait. LOL. IDK. I can barely see myself these days.

Bucky's breath caught at the first touch. Silently, thank god. He wasn't used to someone, particularly someone he hardly knew, being so close. No one else had touched his hair – nor any other part of him – in years. And he was instantly anxious about his scars; his fingers discreetly inched over to make sure his sleeve was fully covering them. Loki's fingers were light and gentle in his hair, which felt nice, almost soothing. His torso practically in Bucky's face, Bucky could smell Loki's soap and some kind of oil. Flicking his eyes up, Bucky caught sight of Loki's chest and a sprinkle of hair between the open buttons of his long-sleeved shirt. And swallowed. “You have gorgeous hair,” Loki murmured around his pencil into the quiet. Bucky jolted a little at the sound and tried to disguise it with a friendly laugh. “It's not that – it's just – I don't – I mean y–” Sigh. “Thank you.”
More than a sentence. Sue me.
🤔What’s a story you’d love to write but haven’t even started yet?
I still very much want to write my big, grand MaLoki fic. I wrote a prologue, I wrote a storyline, but I've yet to write the actual fic. A crossover between both Disney movies (animated and live action) and two of the Thor movies. I don't count Gagnarok into anything. LOL but, yeah. Big dreams.
Thanks for asking! Sorry it took so long.
