L'Esprit de L'Escalier by Catherynne M. Valente - Retelling of Orpheus and Eurydice. There were a couple others I considered for this spot but I've been in a rotting bodies mood lately and this is REALLY good for that. Also type of thing I cannot stop thinking about. Came back wrong in the sense of 'the whole world knows she's supposed to be dead, herself included, and it wants to make this right.'

I don’t usually explain these, because I want them to speak for themselves. But I think this one might need it a bit. Basically I was thinking that the reason the person you love can destroy you is because you make yourself vulnerable to them.

After defeating Thanos on Titan, Tony wants to be friends.

Stephen knows he should hold back and let Tony pass out of his life. Partly for his own emotional health, but also partly for Tony’s sake: Stephen knows things about him now that he never chose to share. It’s an invasion of privacy so severe Stephen can’t even articulate it.

But Stephen’s too used to letting Tony past his barriers, and after 14 million losses, there’s something addictive about seeing Tony when he wins, seeing him happy.
