Melonpult: Look, I know the obvious PvZ submissions are the peashooter (plus its different varieties), sunflower, maybe wallnut or tallnut. Those guys are like the mascots. HOWEVER... I need you to consider the Pults. And specifically Melon-pult. He's the middle child. He does the most damage per Sun. And he's the only pult who will INSTANTLY hit a zombie directly in front of him, instead of throwing the melon straight up into the air so it takes forever to drop on a dude a foot away from him. Respect Melon-pult.

Sunflower: they produce sun, which is the energy resource needed to place plants in this game, so they're very important. there's also at least one that has a talent for singing

Alright I want all of yall to apologize for SLEEPING ON THIS LITTLE GUY (more under the cut)

Let me explain myself: I've recently gotten on to Neon Mixtape Tour on a new save of pvz 2 (version 4.5.2 [with dynamic difficulty]) and I decided to try and use Phat Beet...AND HIGH KEY HE IS SO UNDERRATED

Lemme give a brief summery of what Phat Beets do: they do a good amount of damage in a 3x3 radius, think a less powerful gloom shroom. He has a quick recharge and costs 150 sun.

Now, why do I think this guy is secretly the second coming of christ? Well, it's all about how I use them! These lil guys want to be spread out all over the front of the lawn (ideally through columns 5-7. maybe some in column 8 if needed).

You can't just place them and expect them to stay there for most of the fight (unless it's a line on column 5), you'll have to place, dig up, and maybe even replace them a lot, you'll have to adapt them around the zombies.

They also require some support plants. Stunion and Stallia are great examples, Cherry Bomb too but that's a given. But, main attackers that can slow down the zombies will be of great assistance for Phat Beets. I recommend either the use of Kernel Pults for their cheapness and plant food ability, or the use of Winter Melon...because it's Winter Melon tbh with the right sun production you can single alot of levels with Winter Melons but that's a topic for another day.

I'm still experimenting with Phat Beats, so more information about them may come to light, maybe I'll update this post, maybe not, we'll see :)

In conclusion: I believe Phat Beets are very underrated in pvz , with the right strategies they can be very great additions to your defense!

HELP- I FEARED THIS WOULD EVENTUALLY HAPPEN-

Ok gonna give thoughts about the two watermelon catapults cuz they were my faves in both games (PVZ, PVZ2)

Melon-pult: Really sweet and always nice. Making sure to kill as many zombies as it can with its heavy-damage and group range attacks. Kinda delusional, in a way that if it does its job well enough, you’ll give it a few head pats and treats…and giving it more affection the better it does its job.

Winter Melon: A lot like its…sibling(?)

…I put peashooters as a family so yeah-

Except Winter Melon is a lot more reserved than Melon-pult. Always wanting to cling to you before it’s time to go onto the battlefield. Why does it have such a sun cost? Because it wants to stay with you as long as it can! It’s a lot more shy compared to its sibling, and doesn’t prefer to go onto the field unless it has to…for its heavier damage and slowing attacks. It EATS your affection. Happily wagging(?) its catapult when you give it a headpat.

Winter-melon is still my fave fr-
