March CPNs

this month’s banner theme is tennis boyfriends! lol. when i saw it, i knew it would fit, cause this month was also when WYB went for the lacoste show and most interviews was him talking about tennis. and who is the other actor who mentioned this sport too? another coincidence! why is it always them? 😂😂😂 from new au pairings, coins, similarities and kadian drama— this month delivered the goods to us!

time to review and look back at the delicious candies we ate this month:

• the bone necklace potentially getting replaced because of some anti rumors and what it means.

• circle elements in xzs vlog is a nod to cpf comments that have yellow circles

• lacoste and bjyx

• yibo shows cpfs some love at chanel pfw

• here are some other pfw minor clownery. 🌸

a nice detail seen in his clothes/jacket are red and green flowers. you all know how we feel about red and green in this fandom. yeah, this must be a stylist’s choice blah blah blah but that just how cpns work. and it’s so cute too!

descendants of the sun parallel! please! you all know i’m weak for this shit. chenwei will always reign supreme, but what if chen yu decides to go full on army or whatever.

i also found it funny how fans are noticing the difference with their clothes. xz was revealing in his own way & wyb was all covered up. of course these are two different brands so the clothes and everything will not be the same. but that’s actually what’s good about them, how different they are. and yet— they complement each other really well and have the same values in life. they try and learn what the other person’s interest is so they can have a better relationship. 🤍

• a similarity we noticed too was that wyb was on his phone before the lacoste show, and it reminded us of how xz was doing the same at gucci mfw. i think we went 👀 because for xz, we were already clowning that he was messaging wyb or reading message from him then something similar happens to wyb. it could be a completely different thing and who can blame them for checking their phone while on “downtime” — but let us be with our fake story from these two incidents 😌😌😌

• on 3/5 chang feng po lang released a new character poster for wyb’s character wei ruolai. because of it, a new AU pairing was born. wei ruolai x patient #5. i swear. their characters look good together! some also pair wei ruolai up with xiao sa or chunsheng 😂😂😂

i have to say younger chunsheng before he went to military and ruolai match so well together!

• same answers on fashion week interviews: comfortable dressing & the color black

• another perspective on the coin that appeared in zz’s vlog - relation to wei ruolai and war of faith trailer this is further “proven” when wei ruolai’s character posted was revealed and he was tossing a coin. look, i know it’s highly unlikely that the whole concept was a way to tease us with WYB’s drama. but it’s a nice double meaning and more! 🪙🪙🪙

• since there is a new character out for one of them, another new AU pairing was born! wei ruolai x xiao chunsheng 🤍🤍🤍

• the two of them being featured at vogue website as stand outs during their respective fashion week appearances. it’s not really cpn but more on them being the power couple 👏��👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 and i’m just so proud of them. years later, they still shine so bright and it has no signs of even fading.

even with weibo engagement, both of them were on top during their respective events. no one could even come close. and why, it’s so hard for them to work together, or why no one would allow that to happen cause it will be game over. lol.

• our dearest tennis couple 🎾 ; this has become more prevalent in the fandom because of wyb’s lacoste ad!

• the inception possibility - tbh i’m just desperate to relate this movie to them and a cpn 😂😂😂

• the collab between cotti and dove - this is most likely a business movie that has no input from xz and wyb. these are big brands that take care of their company but what’s sus is how cotti posted the announcement of this collab at 10:05. you would think dove would be the one to do that since xz is their endorser. or they could use 10, 10:10 or 10:30 posting time which are equally usual time slots for brand announcements. but no. it feels intentional on their side to use that association. of course it led to some drama but we still made some lemonade out of it by going through some old endorsement CPN examples that was funnily enough, dug out by solo fans who are clowns themselves.

• some are clowning (slightly) over WYB’s alleged kadian a day after the cotti drama when he FW the post for olympics because it read a (14:38) lifetime zhanbo. but you all know how picky i am with kadians. the vcr was shared 14:30 so i guess he only had a narrow window to share, not sure if intentional or not. for me, personally, not everything is kadian. considering the topic too, this is a national/international event. i don’t think it should be used for cpn. i’d like to think WYB is more professional than we are. but who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

• this bts video from war of faith! it shows wyb being active — moving around and doing some exercises. reminds us so much of how xz was like during SBMS bts that was released. they are so similar!

• GG’s weibo post the night before WoF premiere

• adding this to the list of brands they both use for their wardrobe: NANS. as usual disclaimer, these are clothes used in brand shoots and may have been chosen by hired stylist of the brand or their own. who knows. i just like archiving stuff like this, especially for lesser known brands that seem to only be worn by them. some examples below:

lesser known because XZ/WYB are so popular so you would expect them to wear name brands. if not, a company that the general public likes. on weibo, the brand only has 132k followers which is pretty low and they don’t repost photos of celebrities who used their clothes— nothing about WYB or XZ or anyone else.

• 3/21, premiere date of WoF, WYB shares a new trailer for the drama. The weibo account of WoF posted @ 9:58 and WYB on 10:06. So the CPN is, did he miss? was this supposed to be 10:05? considering what XZ did the day before with his post. Personally, i’m relieved that he didn’t do it 10:05 to prevent drama with his so/os because this time is crucial. we can’t afford these sensitive ass fans turning away from him and not supporting his work. he is too smart for that, he knows all too well how these things go.

I like this interpretation from cpfs that he didn’t miss, it’s yibo, if he wants to do it 10:05 he will. but he has limits right now, those who know (us cpfs) will get the meaning and understand him. and we do. we always do 💛

•xz molsion live show clues: lego/puzzles, camping and chasing dramas

• xiao zhan calling wyb lai lai ( fake rumor )

• 3/25 XZS post where the 380 yuan fan makes an appearance and the 8th picture significance

• 3/26 fake rumor 🗣️🗣️🗣️

wls wants xls to call him “gege”, xls didn’t, so wls tickled him, xls had no choice so he called wls “gege” softly, after he said it he blushed so hard, and wls didn’t allow us to look 👀.fake rumor don’t believe it

• 3/27 IQIYI livestream/ watch-a-long event with WYB and him smiling when the host said side by side in the snowy mountain part one . part two 💛💛💛

• 3/28 we got to see a VCR of ZZ and his style looks similar to Bobo’s

• new lounge wear brand cp! bananain x miiow 😍😍

• a cute coincidence that in episode 21 of WoF it is revealed that in his hometown, Wei Ruolai has a nickname: “gou gu zai” = Definition: Jiangxi dialect. Refers to a child who has just entered his youth. Young people, they are not deeply involved in the world, but they are full of energy. like a puppy, lively and noisy.

it is exactly like gouzaizai but that one is from Chongqing. i know this is a script and fiction, but the director himself said that when WYB went in as Ruolai, he was inspired by WYB’s personality irl. It also means we were all right, looking at Lai Lai as a puppy during the show.

it’s just so nice to know that GG already found out what WYB’s personality was like early on. that he is a puppy — and feeds more truth to the cpn that GG was the one who gave the 🦴 necklace. a bone for a puppy.

• XZ’s xinxiangyin live “clue” on what activities they do spending time outdoors

would absolutely LOVE to share something from #1 because the fic is hilarious to me but unfortunately i only have a few lines written. so from #5 which is a proposal crackfic and exactly what is says on the tin:

On the third sheet, he forgoes proposal planning and dedicates a few lines to comparing the visual appeal of Miles Wright-Edgeworth and Miles Edgeworth-Wright. Then he remembers that they had already decided they wouldn’t hyphenate, seeing as they work in the same field and it would most likely become confusing or inconvenient or both, and crumples the paper with a sigh.

He misses the wastebasket again.

I am a failure and Phoenix Wright is never going to marry me, briefly runs through his head, before he remembers that Phoenix is also a massive loser and they complete each other. Perfect. I am a failure and Phoenix Wright is obsessed with me and he will say yes and we will get married, he thinks. After so many years, this therapy shit is easy.

A Win-win situation for both him and fans xD

I never mentioned this before but the way Voltage has given Yamato various styles of MCs in different plots gets an affirmation from my side. His persona also becomes a little different with the MCs hehe. I love how much of a tease he is in MFW and a mellowed and caring one in MWA7R. As we know, variations help us to relate to the main character better so yes and the eye candies we get are a different thing-

I’m awake again and the first thing I thought of was another thing I loved from last night. Every time Mikey goes to a part of the stage and holds up a hand heart, a sea of people just stop clapping mimic it right back obviously. And it’s just a moment of line like “LOVE!!” “!!! LOVE!!“ in both directions and it made me so happy every time

My #1 post of 2022

So my favorite (not directly mcr related) thing about tonight was that because we somehow ended up in the wheelchair row without realizing those were the tickets we got from Ticketmaster (side note: which worked out bc my dad can’t really stand that long anymore so he got to sit and still watch the show and have a great time) but because we were in this row we got to sit next to this older lady (older than my 71 year old dad) who had blue hair and who talked to me before midtown. She’s been going to mcr shows since revenge and she’s seen them five times. She told me that retirement is for concerts and that since I haven’t seen the killers since 2005 I needed to promise her I’d go see them again because Brandon flowers is still young and I had some time still. When midtown came out and played when we were young she leaned around my brother to give me a thumbs up. She filmed all her favorite songs (mostly black parade ones and a couple revenge) on her little digital camera. And she got the most adorable pic of Gerard when he was talking to Frank about how to pronounce florida which she also made sure to lean over and show me. My dad was also so happy to see mcr. He was gossiping with me about what Gerard would wear before the show and was so excited about the ghost costume that he filmed the entirety of foundations. Sitting around all these older adults really loving MCR and getting it the way we really get it got to me tonight. This really is the most special band 🥹🥹

You here all: gee Alex listen I know this doesn't make sense but I hope you put russian tundra horses in your story about a war in the winter and snow involving russians

You know me and I know you, we're both animal nerds, of course there's random breeds of horses from Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. You can even be nerd enough to pinpoint the origin of random soldiers by their horses, because I sure am nerd enough to put thought into why the main guys have certain horses! Or why the horses have certain names, when named. You know me!

Everyone will also relate differently to their horses. I know I love to call Anders a bitch but for example he is very much an incurable horse boy (and not for his face) and a good rider. His family has a proper warhorse stable(tm) so he grew up around them and values them (more than people, because he is still a bitch). Nikita is also kind with horses but not like, innately A Horse Person, more like "yes we have a horse and she pulls the plug in spring and autumn and now we go to war". Meanwhile Katya is very much a city girl with no idea how to properly interact with horses. Stuff like that.

While not as central, there's of course gonna be the episodic dogs, like Nikita's momma having borzoi in a flashback (mfw it's your fav breed), Anders' little sister has a Nordic spitz (appears once towards the very end but shh), and even medic dogs around the battlefield here and there. As well as the rare trench cat there to eat the trench rats.

And this is, after all, the Wild Untamed Forests of The North(tm), so yeah. Ravens, owls, reindeer, the occasional moose or bear...

I may be drawing people as the MCs but I'm me so there's way too much animal life around.

Songfics I - “The Good Parts” Takao Maruyama (MFW)

The first in a series of songfics (Song-based Fanfictions) I wrote a while back. I picked a song, looped it, picked a character I thought the song suits, and let the words flow as they pleased. The title is the song I was listening to while I wrote (simple). Hope you enjoy!

Song: The Good Parts by Andy Grammer Character: Takao Maruyama from My Forged Wedding

Takao had been staying later and later at the law office. When he came home, he always smiled at the sight of your face, but you could see night after night it was more and more forced. He never gave details about what was happening and “Another hard day at the office?” became your greeting as you’d help him out of his jacket. You tried your best to help him relax, hot baths, special meals and drinks, mindless conversations to distract him but they all seemed hollow.

Another night with a stressed Takao putting on a brave face had gone by and you sat up in bed watching him sleep. It was only then that the lines creased in his brow smoothed completely. You passed your hand lightly over his face, slightly disturbing the soft brown tresses that covered his forehead. A soft breath left your nostrils as you grimaced at your sleeping husband. “I wish you would talk to me, Takao,” you whispered. “I want to know what’s bothering you. I want to know everything about you. I want to share your troubles…” You slid down into bed beside him. “I wish you would open up to me…”

This evening seemed to be Takao’s breaking point. He came home on time for the first time in over a month. He didn’t announce his arrival, the closing door and his briefcase hitting the floor did. You rushed to the front door to see him leaning back against the door with his head back and eyes squeezed shut, silent.

“Tak-”

He raised his hand to stop your greeting and folded his lips, opening his eyes to gaze dully at the ceiling.

You waited. What had happened? He wasn’t saying anything, he wasn’t moving - he was just… there. Fully dressed and breathing, staring off into space.

You tried again. “Takao,” you whispered gently. “Talk to me.”

“About what?” he responded in a gravelly voice, finally straightening up from the door and bending down to loose his shoes. “Nothing to talk about.”

You started to reach to help but he pulled away, finishing the task faster than you thought possible and excusing himself. You retrieved the briefcase he’d left behind, noting it felt strangely light compared to when you’d handed it to him this morning. Following a bit after him, you watched as he went to the bathroom, trailing his clothes behind him.

You didn’t like this silent, distant Takao. He barely even touched you these days beyond your routine kisses each night before bed and when he left for work.

The shower ran while you sat in the bedroom, wondering what you could do. You were worried that stress was pulling Takao away. The oldest of five boys, he was accustomed to handling his troubles on his own, putting himself last in favour of caring for others. He always brushed off his own struggles. Even this past month, he forced that smile and did little things for you to boost your spirits.

You looked down at your hands, opening and closing them, focusing on the familiar feel of your wedding ring on your left hand. He wasn’t just the oldest brother anymore, you wanted him to realize. He was married now. He had a partner he’d vowed to share his whole life with, not just the good parts.

The shower had done Takao well, it seemed, as he quickly retrieved his clothing articles from the floor and put them in the hamper. He glanced at himself in the mirror, nodding at the improvement of his features. At least it was over now, he thought with a sigh. Maybe now he could get back on track.

You didn’t realized Takao had entered the room until you felt the bed dip with his weight behind you.

“______?” His voice was back to normal now. “Are you ok?”

“...No.” Your voice was so small it surprised even you.

Takao was sitting up in a flash, beside you in a heartbeat. “Hey, why are you crying?”

Crying? Only then did you notice the tears at the corner of your eye.

“Did something happen? ______, look at me.”

Takao’s hands and voice were so gentle, the tears only built up more. You couldn’t look at him.

“Talk to me, sweetie,” he said. “Tell me what’s wrong. I want to help.”

You tried to hold back your voice but failed. “Why don’t you do that?” you asked in a trembling voice.

“Do what?”

“What you just said.” You turned to him, pressing the backs of your fingers to your eyes to stem the tears so you could speak clearly. “Talk to ME, Takao. Tell ME what’s wrong. I want to help YOU.”

Takao looked confused. “What are you talking about? I don’t understand.”

“This past month,” you swallowed, “you’ve come home stressed and haggard and whenever I tried to address you about it you’d brush it off or deflect me with that forced smile that hurts my heart every time you plaster it on. ‘Just another hard day at the law firm,’ you’d agree. I get that men don’t talk much but I feel like you’ve been shutting me out even while taking care of me. I want to take care of you, too, but you won’t let me and that… hurts.” You looked down. “It bothers me that you don’t have substantial conversations about yourself with me. I figure you can’t give me details about work but at least tell me how you’re feeling. I may not be able to do anything but I can listen and share those feelings with you. I’m your partner, Takao. You don’t have to - you SHOULDN’T take things on alone anymore.” You bit your lip. “Why is it so hard for you to open up and let me reciprocate the care you give me?”

Takao had silently listened to you bare your heart in that emotional voice, eyes widening at times, grimacing with drooped shoulders, and looking down in the end. “I’ve always been like that,” he whispered. “With my brothers, with the Long Island crew…”

You spoke up. “I’m your wife, Takao. Our relationship is special, different. We’re side by side in life, now. You’re not the oldest, the main assumed caretaker anymore.” You cautiously reached out to take one of his hands. “Does it scare you?” you asked. “The idea of being cared for?”

He thought for a moment. “I’ve never considered it,” he admitted. “It’s just always been this way since my first brother was born.”

“It makes me feel distant from you, watching you struggle without knowing why…”

Takao squeezed your hand. “But you’ve been doing so much for me - just being here every night-”

“It isn’t enough, Takao!” You shook your head. “Please forgive my selfishness but I want to hear your feelings, Takao. Your frustrations, your failures, your doubts and insecurities… I want to know you intimately. Do you think I would love you less if I saw your vulnerabilities? Do you feel like you always have to be in top form around me? Always pleasant and smiling, ‘no worries, everything’s fine’? If that’s how you see it, you’re not giving me all of you, love.”

The things you were saying, Takao understood clearly, but could he really let that wall down after having built and maintained it for the majority of his life? It wasn’t that he actively wanted to keep you out, it was how he operated. To let someone in, to let the woman he loved and cherished and wanted to do and be his best for in on his emotional turmoil - what could you do? What would you do? To talk for just the sake of talking seemed pointless but at the same time you were telling him that you wanted to reciprocate the care he showed you. He would like to tell you that that was unnecessary but he could feel in his heart how much this meant to you and how long you had been stewing on these feelings. The trouble was over now but that didn’t mean he was completely over the outcome. It had been majorly stressful to deal with alone but coming home to your sweet face and blind actions of concern had helped him shut down to tackle the problem again the next day for weeks on end. He had gotten through it but maybe it would have been easier if he had unloaded with you even a little bit in some instances.

He reached out and softly drew you to his chest, kissing the top of your head. “Forgive me for making you feel this way, sweetheart.” He squeezed you gently. “And thank you.” He looked down at you, his Godsend of a wife. Perhaps this was late, but he was willing to try. “It's over now, but... Would you hear me out?”

Your lips spread up into a small smile as your heart sang. “Of course.” You settled back against your husband's chest as he related his work troubles from the beginning, shifting to wrap your arms around his torso and give him a squeeze when he came to parts that seemed particularly difficult for him to voice.

You both lay cuddled tightly together in bed, moonlight illuminating your sleepy “thank you” kisses as you drifted off.

“Thank you for listening to my story and for encouraging me to talk.”

“Thank you for talking to me. I love all of you.”

FIRST: Alternia or Beforus or some type of AU? Alternia, Hiveswap era

Name (preferably include how you came up with it and why): Sofacy Lavern (Sofacy is a cyber-espionage group and Laverna is a goddess of thieves, cheats and the underworld, both because she is a hacker)

Oh I love this, Especially w/ the cyber-espionage bent because Laverna was specifically invoked to help thieves keep their cover. This also makes me maybe want to put a Thieves’ Cant spin on her symbol.

Age: 7 sweeps

Strife Specibus: glovekind (for the weapon I was thinking a cyberpunk like glove that has a keyboard so she can connect to any device on the go if she has to)

I kind of like the idea of her having like… a technokinetic branch of telekinesis, something more mirco/electrokinetic that she syncs through this glove to allow her to refine her abilities. Good for hacking, can also release a static shock in an emergency situation but that’d fry her system for a hot minute, so it should be used Sparingly.

Fetch Modus: Yeah I’m really bad at these

You know those Hacking Puzzles in video games that are almost always like this-

Each of her items gets locked behind one of those and she has to solve it to get the item out.

Blood color: Rust

Symbol and meaning: Armini, sign of the Reconciler

This is definitely good, but I wanna Maaaybe bring in some thieves’ cant inspo when it comes to spriting the symbol on. Maybe.

Trolltag: crimsonCanker (a canker as in an infection, as a reference to viruses she makes and spreads)

Quirk: u r goin to paY for this lol (Capitalizes Y, uses ‘lol’ and ‘mfw’ frequently and shortens words, all lowercase letters and no punctuation, starts a new row instead of using a period)

Special Abilities (if any): Regular rust abilities, telekinesis and can commune with the dead

Like I said above I like the idea of her kind of having trained and used tech to refine her ability down to being techno/microkinetic, too. Really fine and technological work is a lot easier when you can use your mind powers to do it.

Lusus: I have no idea I looked for one for a while and I just couldn’t find anything that fit the theme

She is harsh in her call outs, quick to dig up dirt and mock away anyone she sees spewing bad arguments, hypocrisy and lies. Still, she manages to stay as humorous as she can, even though her jokes tend to be either morbid and cynical or just mocking someone. Sofacy is cheeky and smug to hide the fact that, after being burned once, and as much as she wants to speak up again about the serious issues, she is deathly afraid of making a mistake again.

Oh I Love this personality, really strong and solid. It also makes her placement as a Witch of Doom fascinating because it positions her in session in a place where she has to learn to overcome that passive acceptance and fear in order to overcome inevitability, to literally Change the rules and fate itself.

Interests: The paranormal (ghosts, demons etc.), creepypasta stories and video games (horror games most of all), she also loves scaring people with her prank viruses. If only she enjoyed digging up dirt on people and exposing lies as much as shitpost and memes she’d be a serious threat.

I’ve been neglecting to post a few screenshots from Hollow Knight, so I figure I’ll go ahead and do that now to make a little note of where I am at this point in the game.

First of all, while I was traveling through the Ancient Basin so that I could get the double jump ability (actually called Monarch Wings), I came across and had to defeat this dude:

Here’s the interesting thing about Mr Broken Vessel there. First, you’ll notice that he looks somewhat like the Knight (my player character). Second, he had several abilities that were quite like abilities I’ve unlocked, such as Despairing Dive. This . . . has not gone unnoticed by me, obviously. I feel like I have some connection to this dude. I feel like it’s not coincidence that he both looks like and has abilities similar to the Knight.

Anyway, the real interesting thing is that, after I defeated him? The Forgotten Crossroads got real fucked up. In fact, they’re not the Forgotten Crossroads anymore.

mfw I dropped down into the Crossroads formerly known as Forgotten and saw this:

Literally the entire Crossroads area is just like this now. It’s covered in infection. (Infection is this . . . it would take a long time to explain, but basically there’s this infection that is by and large responsible for the fall of the kingdom of Hallownest, and not a whole lot is known about it, but I’m pretty sure the Dreamers---of which there are three, and I’m supposed to defeat them---are responsible for maintaining the seal which is keeping the worst of this at bay. I’m not entirely sure how defeating the Broken Vessel factors into that, but when I defeated the Broken Vessel this happened to the Forgotten Crossroads, so I can’t help but feel that the two are related somehow.) Most of the enemies within the Forgotten Crossroads have been suped up and are much stronger, but the most tragic thing is what happened to this miniboss guy right here:

You see that big guy? You see how he’s covered in infection? Yeah, that sucks. I used to farm him for money. With the Fragile Greed charm I used to get 54 geo off him per battle. I could just turn on Welcome to Night Vale and farm whenever I needed cash. And now I can’t, because I can’t fight him at all, because he’s too covered in infection to fight. My easy money source has run out. (I can still sell things in the City of Tears, I suppose, but it’s just . . . it’s just not the same.)

In other news, I’m in Deepnest now, and this is probably the creepiest location I’ve ever been in any video game I’ve ever played in my life. I actually had nightmares last night that I’m pretty sure were partly inspired by Deepnest. The only other video game in my twenty-eight years of existence to give me a nightmare was The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask when I was a child, so that is quite the accomplishment for Hollow Knight. Anyway, so it gave me a nightmare, and unrelated to the nightmare I had but still creepy af was this that happened while I was playing last night:

So yeah, I’m not entirely sure what is going on in this game at the moment, albeit I do have some theories and thoughts. Like there are things from earlier in the game that I got reminded about by backtracking (the things at the start that tell you how to heal and such call you a “higher being”), as well as a few other things that have made me think that perhaps the Knight really is not an ordinary citizen here. (e.g. Hornet calls him “little ghost” and seems to have an idea that he’s going to do something terrible, and the way the Seer talks to him, et cetera.) But I’m still not entirely sure what this all means. I feel like this is one of those games I’d need to play at least twice to fully grasp, but at the same time I’ve struggled a lot and I don’t know if I want to go back to the point where I have nothing instead of the charms and such I’ve scraped and scratched for now, haha.

Either way, Hollow Knight is a good game. I’m not finished with it yet, but I’d still recommend it.

Peter Pilotto is known for its bold prints and sleek tailoring, and designers Christopher de Vos and Peter Pilotto have now brought their signature aesthetic to menswear for the first time.

The brand debuted its S/S20 collection at Milan Fashion Week today, sending printed jackets, shorts and shirts down the runway in a kaleidoscope of colours – some designed with both men and women in mind. It was one of three major firsts for the British brand, who also made their MFW debut with the show (previously they’ve always shown during London Fashion Week) and introduced a line of handbags for the first time.

In a pre-show interview with CNN, Pilotto said of the move, “I think our brand has always somehow related to Italian fashion. It’s always been about colours, research, fabrics or fabrications.” He also added that some of the brand’s pieces have always been somewhat gender fluid, saying, “For years we’ve been doing the occasional garment in each collection that worked on a guy. Some of our friends would end up wearing these pieces, especially knitwear, and would really enjoy that.”

Speaking with reporters backstage at the show, Pilotto said, “[The show] was more about seeing how to change the female silhouette. As male designers we feel that more than ever it’s important to connect even deeper to the garments so we wanted to be able to try them on ourselves and understand how they feel.” They were inspired, he said, by the idea of couple’s borrowing one another’s clothes. “We want to explore that idea further, it’s a kind of gender neutral range, which depending on how its worn can be either very masculine or very feminine and we feel that’s a very modern way forward.”

And Zy Crypto isn’t the first to attempt applying the statistical method to Satoshi’s true identity. As bitcoin’s price began to skyrocket, so did interest in who its creator might’ve been. During Craig Wright’s supremely odd public display, outed by supposed hackers, claiming to be Satoshi and then suggesting it was a hoax, a couple of once well-regarded tech journals believed Mr. Wright to be Satoshi. International Business Times employed the very firm used to blow Ms. Rowling’s cover, Juola & Associates. They soon determined what most in the know suspected: Mr. Wright wasn’t bitcoin’s father (he’d respond that he and partner David Kleiman collaborated on the project, but even that has been posthumously tainted). He managed to fool or convince or onboard original Bitcoin dev Gavin Andresen, who went so far as to record video testimony (Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum genius, weighed in on the noise of the matter, and later just outright spat fraud in Mr. Wright’s direction).

Late 2017, price fever pitch reached maximum overdrive, and Michael Chon took his own swing at discovery. The Georgetown University and Booz Allen Hamilton alum concluded Satoshi was a group of devs, with some authoring the whitepaper while others engaged in email exchanges. He narrowed it down to four: “Nick Szabo, Ian Grigg, Wei Dai, and Timothy C. May.” Gavin Andresen wasn’t considered, a subject to which we return.

Mr. Watson details how “using Eder’s bootstrapped stylometry method…this finding supports our previous article on the topic that also identified Gavin as Satoshi using Principal Component Analysis and Burrows’ delta.” Knowing full well the history I’ve outlined above, he concludes, “A big part of this failure can be attributed to the lack of convergence validity in the stylometry field.” And a pitfall within the field itself is how “stylometrics often cherry pick results due to their algorithms producing vastly different results when slightly tweaked,” he acknowledged. This led to suggesting Wei Dai as Satoshi, at least for a time.

The rest of the article reads similarly, and the interested would do well with frequent searches of Wikipedia. Nevertheless, he’s “found that the first nearest neighbour was Satoshi’s email texts followed by 3 of Gavin Andresen’s Github documents and then followed by Satoshi’s forum texts. These findings are quite reasonable because not only do they validate the links between the Satoshi whitepaper-emails-forums but they also cluster Gavin as the likely author. It’s also of interest that Gavin’s style was so much like Satoshi’s whitepaper that he beat Satoshi himself with the forum texts!”
