I recently re-watched Avatar: The Last Airbender. Still one of my favorite shows. ^^I was gonna do a side-view of of them flying on Appa. But then I found this when looking for episode images.... So let's uh...Let's not do the exact same thing.... This scene is loosely based on the episode "The Waterbending Scroll" where they...camp. :3 (I have no idea where Appa's saddle goes when they sleep. As far as I can tell, they take it off at night and then it disappears until morning, when it magically reappears back on Appa. If you can prove me wrong, please do!) (I'm so glad the spray can tool exists. Used it heavily for this one and we are now best friends.)

This is Jubilife Village, the "hub" of the Nintendo Switch game, Pokemon Legends: Arceus. It's not possible to see an aerial view of it ingame, so here it is.

I love this place. Best town in any Pokemon game. So full of life and charm. Amazing music. Wii-era graphics... :3

Fun fact: It's based on a real-world place: Sapporo, Japan.

I wanted to start working more on animations. And also do a zoomed-out view where I didn't repeat previous mistakes. No fixed-point perspective. Heck. No. Real happy with how the trees turned out too. ( • ̀ω•́ )✧

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

The original plan was to draw some Undertale characters in a particular style . But I realized Christmas is a few days away and things escalated quickly. :D

Also got to try out Aseprite's tilemap layer mode for the brick pattern.

Characters were restricted to 16x16 pixels and 3 colors: black and light peach, plus one of: red/orange/green/blue.

Backgrounds were restricted to max 4 colors in every 8x8 pixel square.

I love how Asriel turned out 🥲. And I literally can't look at that Sans without smiling. 🤣

It's an extremely simple style so it seemed like a good one to try first.

This is Frisk and Chara from the amazing NewStepTale comic by @kamikotorayama391 . (Thank you Kamiko for being so awesome and thoughtful!) Yes, Chara plays chess.

Yes, Chara treats the dining table like a sofa. It's been too long since I made Undertale stuff. 😭 I had the idea for this one for several months and wanted to take a crack at an isometric view. This is an iconic room in the story, so perhaps this is how it might be used on an average day. Took some artistic liberties with the room but the important stuff is all there.

Listened to Mabe Village from Link's Awakening HD for most of the time working on this to set a lighthearted mood. ^^ (The Undertale "Home" tracks would just make me tear up instead. 🫠)

A Magic Spring [Witch Hat Atelier]

My brother got me two manga books for Christmas, of a manga called Witch Hat Atelier. This is literally the first manga I've ever owned, or actually held (ie non-digital).

And it's good. I'm hooked. It's beautifully-drawn and warms the heart. Now I gotta spend money and limited bookshelf space on the next 10 books in the series. >:3 And it has cliffhangers!! Evil!!!!! /s

This scene is from the very first few pages, where a girl named Coco is washing clothes in a magical spring and spies some local wildlife.

Toriel is taking the smol powerful stray child she found for a walk. ^^

Finally did a proper walk cycle loop!! Twice. 12 frames for Toriel and 8 for Frisk because they have shrimpy little legs and they gotta go fast to keep up with Toriel dangit. =P I'm super-happy with this one, especially Frisk. Dat smile. Dat pendulum arm. Dat ahoge. 🥲

This is obviously based on the scene where Toriel walks Frisk through the spikes. But I deliberately avoided looking at any actual game sprites to avoid copying the style. Frisk was drawn from scratch (with artistic liberties), and Toriel after checking various fanart for reference. Frisk eventually ended up with a triangle mouth since it felt the least-worst. And that mouth is giving me Mother 3 vibes now...

Wado Ichimonji

I started watching One Piece, thanks to Yukimura-4 and KamikoTorayama391. Really enjoying the nice mix of action, backstories, and worldbuilding. And then this is the scene that finally broke me. 😭 (Thank you Yuki for making me tear up twice in one week. 🫠) Wanted to get this done before the end of March and before having to do family stuff today - mission accomplished! 😄

In hindsight, I did not plan well enough for a consistent art style for the background and characters. Anime characters are tall, yo. I kept common pixel art game background wall heights and then had to raise them because they were too short. And the Dojo has some neat stuff on its walls and I wanted to keep all 4 of them. Especially since the floors are kinda bare. Next time I may try to adapt the characters for shorter heights...

Hello! :D

So, this is Sasha, one of my favorite OCs. 

She hails from Tyler and Jessie's universe.

She's an adorable kid. (Her robe is clearly too long, yet she never seems to trip on it??)

She's extremely kind and intelligent, and cheerful. 

She's somewhat of a mentor figure, and an enigma. 🤷 

(Don't worry, she's one of the good guys!)

And this is the first time she's ever been drawn. Before this, she existed only as text and dialogue. Her long hair and sleeves were a good opportunity to practice leading and trailing animation.

Oh, and I've had a cold the last few days. 🤒 So, gonna take a nice looooooong nap after finishing this. ^^

Mocca the Advisor [Theme Park][Request]

I was asked to sprite Mocca, an advisor character from the Nintendo DS game, Theme Park. I don't really take requests, but I was intrigued, liked the character and saw an opportunity to try some new things, so here we are. :)

260 frames. 😵 Aseprite actually had a way to zoom out the interface, which was a godsend. Even at 1x zoom, the entire timeline doesn't fit on my screen. Seriously considering whether to use an actual game engine to handle things like the text in the future...

Bio: A peasant farmboy who left home seeking answers to the strange phenomena that have been plaguing his village. He met Jessie investigating some leads shortly after, and they decided to team up. Their journey will take them deep into an unfamiliar and surreal world.

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Appearance: Tan skin, thick curly hair, very alert hazel eyes, dark blue tunic, baggy red pants, plain brown shoes. Carries a sash-bag that holds his belongings.

Weapon: Sling and rocks

Magic Abilities?: None

Likes: His village and (almost) everyone in it Honesty. And rocks. Throwing rocks, skipping rocks, studying rocks, collecting rocks.

Dislikes: Bullies, stupidity, riddles, nonsense

Strengths: Very analytical personality. Eye for details. Deadly aim.

Weaknesses: Has a hard time believing people, stubborn.

Fears: Losing the people he cares about. Dying. The unknown.

Bio: A girl from a large trading town who left to investigate some disturbing readings she observed on her computer. She found Tyler shortly after also looking for answers, and they decided to team up.

Appearance: Pale skin, long blonde hair tied in a ponytail, white shirt, light blue skirt, brown boots, carries a foldable computer with her everywhere. 

Weapon: Her computer 

Magic Abilities?: None (but her computer sure seems magical) 

Likes: Discovering new things, seeing new places, meeting new people, seeing animals especially cute ones. 

Dislikes: Seeing people suffer, hopelessness 

Strengths: Extremely computer-literate, rallying people to join a cause 

Weaknesses: Optimistic to a fault, very trusting Fears Losing her computer, her most prized possession. 

Romantic Interests: None (yet?) 

Misc Facts: 

Lives alone with her mother. 

She’s been bullied in her hometown, especially due to her computer.
