Okay. So Zaroth has traveled through the void when Milava a took him after the battle with the Grey Manacle. Zaroth has magic powers, and he doesn’t seem to know what god has blessed him. Is he a demigod, who just hasn’t used his magic enough to trigger the transformation that comes with being unnamed? Is he blessed by his bestie Milava? What is this dude’s deal?

screaming crying bashing my head into the wall about how laika didnt really complete her storyline but her leaving does kind of inform maeris character bcus idk im sure she didnt want to send laika away but she thought it would be best for her and the estrans BECAUSE she thinks so highly of laika . even though! you cant expect some random teenager to lead a whole group like that! but that was what maeri was expected to do her whole life so! also interesting how in ballad laika disagrees with zaroth on if he should try to save milava which i think is kind of that same needs of the many type mentality. interesting and i will die about it

Okay, last Dames and Dragons theory for the day. Let’s talk about Milava.

Growing up she was called Mila, but Milava is the name her father gave her. He gave her a name, but hasn’t Named her- Milava revealed that he hadn’t honored with a god title as of “The Grey Manacle.” This begs the question, why did Torva bother renaming her without even Naming her?

The answer may have been revealed indirectly in “Court of Spears.” When asked if Torva worship has Becca more acceptable, a servant explained that it was.

“It used to be that the only gods people would worship in the streets here were Minotine, or maybe Baav or Mila. You know, the gods of good and plenty.”

I think Torva renamed his daughter because she shared a name with an already Named god. Now let’s go deeper.

Milava wasn’t raised by Torva. Why is that? Torva even raised children that weren’t his if he believed they would be useful to him later, and Milava clearly is useful to him.

I think he didn’t raise her because he couldn’t. He may not have even known she existed. Milava’s mortal parent tried to keep her away from Torva, and they intentionally gave her the name of another god to hide her from him. The mortal parent died, forcing Milava onto the streets with Zaroth and allowing Torva to get to her.
