Kamryn! She's back. She's not doing too good but she's back <3
Yeah, this post took a lot of effort, trying to match the tone of those tabloids was the worst, there are always so many grammatical errors T_T
[ALEX] I’m so sorry we couldn’t spend more time together, M.G.
[MARGAUX-GRACE] Um . . . that’s okay, I think.
[ALEX] You think?
[MARGAUX-GRACE] Yeah, because I’m the onliest child in the whole world.
[ALEX] The loneliest child in the world?
[MARGAUX-GRACE] No, the onliest, because I like being the only one by myself sometimes.
[ALEX]  . . . Oh.
[ALEX] You be good for Grandma, promise?
[MARGAUX-GRACE] I will. Bye.
[ALEX] all right, baby girl, give me a kiss.
[MARGAUX-GRACE] Ewww, noooo!
[ALEX] [LAUGHS] Okay, fine. Now, run off now, I need to talk to Mommy.
[KAMRYN] You told your mom not to take Margaux directly to the palace. Why?
[ALEX] Do we have to do this now? Standing in the rain?
[KAMRYN] When else are we supposed to do this? July? Why don’t you want her at CP?
[ALEX] Nick is going to be at the palace all morning, he’s leaving at
[KAMRYN] —Fuck you.
[ALEX] Kamryn.
[KAMRYN] You don’t get to do this shit to her, okay? He is the only man in your entire family that has a presence in her life. You are not going to deprive her of that because of whatever dumb-ass sibling feud you have with him.
[ALEX] You were just complaining about him last week, why are you always like this?
[KAMRYN] Why am I always like this? Like what, Alexander? Like someone who gives a damn about her child?
[ALEX] Don’t play this game with me; I love my daughter.
[KAMRYN] [SCOFFS] She sees you what? five months out of the year? You didn’t care enough to make time for her this week.
[ALEX] I’m effectively a single parent at twenty-four. The impact all this has had on my career, my reputation . . . my ambitions. You, on the other hand, are exactly the same in the worst way possible. Why her? Of all the people you could use to hurt me. Why her?
[RAIN HAMMERING THE CAR’S WINDSHIELD.]
[KAMRYN] You didn’t have time for Margaux, but you made time for Nadia—Does her fiancé know about this, by the way?
[ALEX] Keep your voice down there are cameras.
[THUNDER RUMBLING IN THE DISTANCE.]

DUBAI (Reuters) -Iranian leaders vowed revenge on Thursday for two explosions that killed nearly 100 people at a ceremony to commemorate top Revolutionary Guards commander Qassem Soleimani on the anniversary of his death in a U.S. drone attack.
"A very strong retaliation will be handed to them on the hands of the soldiers of Soleimani," First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber told reporters at a hospital were some of the wounded from Wednesday's blasts were receiving treatment.
Tehran has blamed the explosions on unspecified "terrorists", but no one has yet claimed responsibility for the bloodiest such attacks since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
An unnamed source told the state news agency IRNA that the first explosion at the cemetery in the southeastern city of Kerman "was the result of a suicide bomber's action".
"The cause of the second blast was most likely the same," the source told IRNA.
State TV showed crowds gathered at dozen cities across Iran, including Soleimani's home town Kerman, chanting: "Death to Israel" and "Death to America".
Iranian authorities have called for mass protests on Friday, when the funerals of the victims' of twin blasts will be held, state media reported.
Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guards Corps described the attacks as a cowardly act "aimed at creating insecurity and seeking revenge against the nation's deep love and devotion to the Islamic Republic".
The Guards commander in Kerman denied state media reports of a shooting in Kerman on Thursday.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has condemned the "heinous and inhumane crime", and Iran's top authority, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, vowed revenge for the twin bombings, that also wounded 284 people, including women and children.
EARLIER ATTACKS
The United States on Wednesday said it was not involved in any way in the explosions and had no reason to believe Israel was.
Washington said the blasts appeared to represent "a terrorist attack" of the type carried out in the past by Islamic State militants.
Tehran often accuses its arch enemies, Israel and the United States, of backing anti-Iran militant groups that have carried out attacks against the Islamic Republic in the past. Baluchi militants and ethnic Arab separatists have also staged attacks in Iran.
In 2022, the Sunni Muslim militant group Islamic State claimed responsibility for a deadly attack on a Shi'ite shrine in Iran which killed 15 people.
Earlier attacks claimed by Islamic State include twin bombings in 2017 which targeted Iran's parliament and the tomb of the Islamic Republic's founder, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
The U.S. assassination of Soleimani in a Jan. 3, 2020, drone attack at Baghdad airport, and Tehran's retaliation - by attacking two Iraqi military bases that house U.S. troops - brought the United States and Iran close to full-blown conflict.
As chief commander of the elite Quds force, the overseas arm of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Soleimani ran clandestine operations abroad and was a key figure in Iran's longstanding campaign to drive U.S. forces from the Middle East.
Tensions between Iran and Israel, along with its ally the United States, have reached a new high over Israel's war on Iran-backed Hamas militants in Gaza in retaliation for their Oct. 7 rampage through southern Israel.
Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi militia have attacked ships they say have links to Israel in the entrance to the Red Sea, one of the world's busiest shipping lanes.
U.S. forces have come under attack from Iran-backed militants in Iraq and Syria over Washington's backing of Israel and have carried out their own retaliatory air strikes.

Bungo stray dogs but they're actually dogs. Sigma is a Borzoi
i could see that actually however- to me, as my third pet freak (the others being francis and mushi) i also see him as one of those tormented wolfdog hybrids with several behavioral issues and a certain misery and profound emptiness in their eyes neither able to belong as a pet nor in the wild. how fucked up would a borzoi and wolf hybrid be actually i don't want to find out
some other dogs as dogs: (i don't know many dog breeds in depth im not a very dog kind of guy)
Fukuzawa is a huge, retired & traumatized former military belgian malinois that is mostly apathetic to every other dog and sometimes stares out thoughtfully into space and lets out the world's longest sigh for no reason, but he REALLY loves cats. which are however mostly apathetic to him
Atsushi is not a dog he is a tiger!! NYAR!!!!!11!!1
Kyouka is a previously abused puppy that has lost the ability to feel safe around people after the horrors but with enough time and care you can help her recover her trust and joy and discover she actually prefers your cat over you
Akutagawa wants you to love him and he will turn to destructive behaviour if he ever thinks you're abandoning him again (going to work in the morning) he has brutally mauled every single mailman they sent out to your house until they just kinda stopped coming
Kajii is some sort of greyhound. Good lord. That is all
Jouno is a shiba inu that finds great amusement in the suffering of poor people but you don't know that because dogs don't talk about their feelings. has really passionate beef with the neighbourhood dog and it took like ten entire people to pull them off of each other once
Gin is not your dog she's somebody else's dog. doesn't really care about you
Mushitaro is that 1000000 fucking dollar expensive rare breed one of those fluffy nearly shaped like a perfect orb ankle-biter yappers with nothing behind its void-black eyes that's just shivering with hatred every waking second of it's life. the high maintenance as fuck kind that's gonna start screaming and pissing and tearing the paint off your walls and fucking dying if you don't give it exclusive pure $60,000 Acqua di Cristallo Tributo a Modigliani water to drink and a cleansing bubble saltwater bath every single day. he doesn't actually need those but he is trying to convince them that he does and it's working because the kind of owner who would get this kind of weird fucking dog is either one or the other A) utterly fucking spineless and lets the hellhound do whatever with zero training because it's small and thus its anger is meaningless and utterly harmless or B) has a blast treating it like shit and continuously annoying it on purpose because it's small and thus its anger is meaningless and incredibly hilarious so they can make tic tac videos of them saying their dog is a demon while its having it's third panic attack of the day in the corner. i got off track. anyway they had to stop taking him out on a leash whenever they wanted to get on a plane and carry him around in one of those dog backpacks because the airport falcons were constantly mistaking him for some sort of rodent
Ranpo is a border collie
Kunikida is a well-trained border collie
Lovecraft is a bedlington terrier because they look fucking terrifying I don't know if and how that's a living breathing creature we created do not fucking google it jesus christ
Kyuusaku is a pug because they're constantly in pain from just being alive
Fyodor is a very big rat that barks but occassionally says something very ominous in fluent russian when nobody is around. he can also read. he's like remy ratatouille but fucked up and evil
Chuuya would fit as a human that is just utterly in love with every single one of the above listed as he's (semi)canonically a crazy dog person. However if not, he could be an afghan hound with his luscious fucking locks
other dog enjoyers feel free to add on

ANBAR, Iraq, Oct 19 (Reuters) - Drones and rockets targeted two military bases housing U.S. forces in Iraq on Thursday, sources and officials said, the latest in a series of attacks after Iraqi militants warned Washington against intervening to support Israel against Hamas in Gaza.
Rockets and drones were fired at Ain al-Asad air base, which hosts U.S. and other international forces in western Iraq, and multiple blasts were heard inside the base, two security sources said.
The Iraqi military said it closed the area around the base and started a search operation. It was not clear yet whether the attacks caused casualties or damage, said the sources.
Rockets hit another military base hosting U.S. forces near Baghdad's international airport, Iraqi police said on Thursday, without providing further details.
A U.S. official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said two rockets had been fired at U.S. forces at the airport. One was intercepted and the other hit an empty storage facility and there were no casualties, the official added.
The latest attacks take to four in the past 24 hours targeting Iraqi military bases that hosts U.S. forces in Iraq.
Last week, Iraqi armed groups aligned with Iran threatened to target U.S. interests with missiles and drones if Washington intervened to support Israel against Hamas in Gaza following the deadly incursions by Hamas militants that killed 1,400 people.
U.S. military forces in Iraq were targeted on Wednesday in two separate drone attacks, with one causing minor injuries to a small number of troops even though the U.S. military managed to intercept the armed drone.
The United States has 2,500 troops in Iraq, and 900 more in neighbouring Syria, on a mission to advise and assist local forces in combating Islamic State, which in 2014 seized swathes of territory in both countries.
Ain al-Asad air base is located in the western Anbar province.

It all goes back to the Temple Mount.
So I didn’t realize this until today, but everything Hamas is doing, from the initial attack of 5,000 missiles onwards… it was named after the mosque on the Temple Mount.
“Also known as 'Al-Aqsa Flood', Operation 'Al-Aqsa Storm' is a military operation led by was a surprise attack on Israel by Hamas on October 7, 2023. The attack involved firing thousands of rockets at occupied territories, including enemy positions, airports, and military positions.”
They could have named it ANYTHING.
Operation Freedom, Operation Get Our Land Back, Gaza Storm, Hamas Flood. But they didn’t. They named the attack after the mosque on the Temple Mount. Which, while not the holiest site in Islam, is the third.
Now, I made a post a while back that it was my personal opinion that the matters of Revelations couldn’t begin until the Desolation at the Temple. What is that, who knows, even the son of Gd didn’t really specify.
Mark 13:14, King James Version
But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
And then it goes into the whole bit which has been previously posted about how you shouldn’t grab a thing, you should run. Don’t get a coat, run.
My assumption was that … well, it would be nuclear, if not something else. Something… awful. But nuclear made the most sense, at least to me. You wouldn’t grab a coat in a nuclear blast.
And it was my opinion that this desolation wouldn’t take place until the red heifers were ready for slaughter, solely because then Israel would have a pointed reason to make a move on the Temple Mount.
Not that they have left that mosque alone as it is.
The most recent issue.
And honestly the take away from the article:
“The Al-Aqsa Mosque is under the administration of the Jordan-affiliated Islamic Waqf. While non-Muslims are allowed to visit, they are not permitted to worship under a long-standing status quo agreement.
However, attacks by far-right groups advocating for Jewish control and over Al-Aqsa have been ongoing for years.
In recent months, radical Israeli settlers have increasingly been storming the mosque under the protection of Israeli security forces. Hamas said that its attack on Israel was motivated by the settler provocations.”
And if not storming the mosque, Israel has acted in other ways.
Such as saying that they need to be in the area for archaeological reasons.
https://new.thecradle.co/articles/israeli-excavation-under-al-aqsa-accelerates-with-intensity-report#:~:text=For%20several%20decades%2C%20Israel%20has,to%20the%20land%20of%20Palestine.
“For several decades, Israel has been excavating under the Al-Aqsa Mosque as part of a vague, historically motivated search for 'Solomon's Temple. ' These excavations represent Israel's attempt to justify the occupation through archeology, by which Israelis claim they can trace their heritage to the land of Palestine.”
Tumblr media
I mean, look at how this place is divided up.
So what happens now?
If you’ve been watching the news, there’s been a lot of talk about a physical invasion into Gaza. But despite the operation being named for the mosque itself? I haven’t seen - doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened or doesn’t exist - any articles or news stories about Israel using this time to act against the mosque. Or Hamas attacking the mosque.
And frankly? That would be.. idiotic.
Why? Because if Israel does anything to the mosque at this point, it’s inviting Iran and other Muslim nations to fully turn against them (ignoring Iran lighting fireworks, and getting US military plans that went from Trump, to Putin, to Iran, no doubt aiding in attack plans against Israel). And this, when Israel was trying to make peace with Saudi Arabia.
This would be the worst time for them to move.
Now, someone else may see this, and make a move on the Temple Mount, pinning the blame on Israel.
I don’t know. No one knows for certain. Even the son of Gd didn’t know exactly when this would happen, and he wasn’t very descriptive. But then, how does one two thousand years ago, describe any of these things that have come to pass? Or will come?
Mark 13, New International Version:
14 “When you see ‘the abomination that causes desolation’[a] standing where it[b] does not belong—let the reader understand—then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 15 Let no one on the housetop go down or enter the house to take anything out. 16 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 17 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 18 Pray that this will not take place in winter, 19 because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world, until now—and never to be equaled again.
Now I have quoted Zechariah and Ezekiel, but as a Christian whose holy book is the Bible… the timeline seems.. uncertain at best. Just that some things have to happen before we get into the worst of it all.
Famines and earthquakes are here. Famines will get worse. War is at the doorstep of every home.
Atrocities, in Ukraine, in Gaza, in Israel.
Whispers, across Europe, America, Australia. Preppers, the paranoid, the children of the Lord see this. And it is ignored by those that can afford to ignore it.
With any luck? The mosque will stay standing. It will not be attacked, it will not be desecrated. Lives will not be lost, and no earthquake will fall over Israel to show that this is the last act before the end of days.
And I don’t mean that sarcastically, given the name of my blog.
But this attack was named FOR the mosque atop the Temple Mount. Why?

Torshan Story Segment Two
In Over Your Head
No Trigger Warnings.
You blinked twice, half expecting the hallucination to disappear. When it didn't, you looked to your left and right and the soldiers surrounding you. Everyone seemed to be on edge, staring up at the dragon. Yet their weapons remained at a low ready and pointed towards the ground. Either they didn't seem to view the dragon as a threat, which would've been ridiculous, or everyone knew that attacking it would only expedite their deaths. A few tense moments passed before you felt a hand fall onto your shoulder. Tomas had a relaxed look on his face.
"I wouldn't worry too much. The dragon is more friend than foe. It's helped us take down some very dangerous Xenos in the past." He gently pulled on your shoulder and continued walking towards the terminal building. You hesitated taking your eyes off the dragon. It didn't seem like it was going to be a problem today though, so you fell back into stride with Tomas.
"Still wouldn't trust it as far as I could throw it." He said under his breath. You looked back over your shoulder just in time to see the dragon unfurl its wings. With a single, powerful beat of the wings, the tremendously heavy beast was lifted into the air. Dust and debris was thrown away from the tower and the tarmac below it from the sudden burst of wind. The dragon quickly gained altitude and disappeared behind the terminal building. Had it come just to see you arrive?
It was only now, once the danger had passed, did the reality of your situation finally begin to set in. There were dragons here. Creatures thought to be myths and legends, and you saw one. A real, living dragon. Before now, your only exposure to Xenoforms was in training videos, news articles, and videos leaked during the initial emergence. Seeing one in person was a wholly different experience. You couldn’t hide behind a screen halfway around the world anymore. You were going to have to interact with these creatures, face to face, daily. It was like rolling the dice every morning whether or not you would piss off the wrong Xeno that day and end up not making it home.
“Hey, you alright?” You were stirred from your runaway thoughts by Tomas. He was standing next to a fairly unremarkable, blue door.
“Don’t worry. You’ll get used to staring death in the face every day.” He smiled as if that was somehow reassuring. Tomas opened the door and gestured for you to enter.
Walking into the terminal, you were hit by a blast of cool, dry air. Looking around, you could see how this building used to be an airport terminal. The conversion into a military base was makeshift and done with a fairly restrictive budget. The seating near the gates had been ripped out and replaced with cubicles. Each one was filled by a worker typing away furiously at their computer. Crowds of people were bustling up and down the concourse. Each one was moving with a worrying sense of urgency. Looking up at the second level, you could see into meeting rooms filled by men in expensive suits sitting next to generals and soldiers. The only thing that was probably still original to the airport were the food shops along the concourse. Each one was jam packed by OXEN officers and office workers alike.
Tomas filed in behind you, along with the contingent of soldiers escorting you along the way.
"I don't think I need to walk you through the entire facility. We'd be here forever doing that. I'll show you to your office and get you acquainted with your job here. Afterwards we can get you geared up and we'll go do some rounds. Any questions?" Tomas tucked his hands back into his vest. He waited patiently with a friendly smile.
Now it's your turn! What questions do you have for Tomas before he leads you deeper into the belly of the beast?

@bsqvad
It was a relief not to step off the airplane and be confronted by huge video advertisements of her own face. The D.Va brand was everywhere in Busan, from billboards to park benches to the sides of buses. She’d just modeled for Nano Cola and done those TV spots for SBS’ World Cup coverage, and her recent win at Worlds kept her face plastered on the cover of just about every gaming and tech magazine in Korea. Pretty soon, those promotional videos she’d filmed with the military would be coming out too, which would hopefully keep Dae-hyun by her side, rather than pulled off and conscripted.
The other benefit, aside from not cringing around every corner at a 50x size picture of herself, was that people might not recognize her. With a hoodie and a baseball cap, low makeup and no face-pain, Hana wouldn’t consider herself too recognizable. Yeah, it was nice just to walk around the airport, struggling with her many bags until an airline worker offered her a cart, and getting a car without anyone asking for pictures or wondering how she’d pulled off the triple headshot at Worlds.
Eventually, Hana stuffed all her bags in the trunk of the car, thanking everyone for the help as best she could while still pretending not to speak Japanese, just so no one might try to strike up a conversation with her. She just showed her phone with the address on it to the driver, and then sat back in the back seat. With her headphones seated comfortably over her ears, blasting LOONA, she popped the top of a can of Nano and idly wondered how the upcoming meeting with Kodzuken would go.
Originally, the trip to Japan was supposed to be a break - an opportunity to eat junk food and go to arcades and shop for cool retro games. At most, she’d planned a guerilla meetup just in case she felt the need to be D.Va, an opportunity for her Japanese fans to meet her and take pictures or get autographs, and even then, only if she really felt bad about taking time off.
But, the more she thought about it, the more that the idea of being Hana Song for so long, with no breaks, started to sit poorly in her stomach. She could always see if Yuna wanted to stream together, or if Kyung-soo wanted to get publicly demolished in some practice games, but that felt like a waste, so she’d ended up looking into some Japanese streamers who might be interested instead.
She’d heard of Kodzuken before, and thinking about it, his more laid-back style and her sweaty tryhard energy could be a funny contrast that fans might enjoy. A collab request would come off more authentic, too, if she already knew the streamer. Doing something with a VTuber could be fun, too, and maybe push her reach further. Thankfully, he’d seemed excited about the chance to collab, and they’d exchanged a few messages back when she was still in Korea.
As the car pulled up to the address, Hana hopped out with a smile, already working on getting in-character as D.Va. It was easier with her jumpsuit, her gaming headphones, and her face-paint. Putting all of that on was like a powerup to turn ‘Hana Song’ into ‘D.Va,’ but she’d just have to do her best without them for now. Once the driver had helped with her bags, she grinned and handed him over the payment. “Thanks so much for all the help!” Immediately, her smile faltered as she stiffened, remembering that she’d pretended not to speak Japanese. “Uh, thanks again, bye!” Gathering up all her things, she practically bolted over to the house, forcing her perfect D.Va smile back on her lips as she rang the doorbell.

Modern Warfare 2's Campaign Is Unremarkable
No Russian was the least interesting part of the original Modern Warfare 2.
Everyone involved with the current iteration of Modern Warfare 2 seems to have forgotten this despite promising no such mission would make its appearance. Setting aside political oddities and questions of taste, the now infamous mission essentially took place on a rail- whether you participated or not an airport got shot up and your character was disposed of in the end, the first of several shocking twists throughout the story.
2022's Modern Warfare 2 may not have a simulation of a mass shooting but its obsession with placing the player on the rails makes the latest Call of Duty entry feel less like itself and more like the least forgiving Time Crisis you could dream up.
Put less kindly- the campaign is a haunted house where pop up encounters must be memorized and death comes often. The design is such a step backward that it even features a final boss battle with a literal tank, an encounter you'd expect to find in an early 2000s shooter rather than 2022's latest military sim.
It's a shame because the actual gameplay of Call of Duty- the shooting- has never been tighter. Your character has more weight than ever, each gun feels unique and satisfaction of problem solving environments and enemy waves can still be found- when the game isn't too busy demanding you adhere to poorly choreographed stealth sequences, inexplicable swimming physics or even- god help us all- literal platforming.
Gone are the massive battlefields of prior entries, the campaign instead opting for tight spaces with many missions requiring you to breach and clear spaces which hold cleverly placed enemies waiting to kill you from off screen. Gone are the heavy firefights that will sustain themselves with or without your progression, chucked in favor of a finite number of placed enemies that you must dispatch to the last should you hope to proceed. In rejecting the chaos that made prior entries feel so lifelike, this most recent Modern Warfare feels more tactical, clinical, and, well...boring.
It's hard not to compare this game to the wonder of its 2009 counterpart. So far as stories go, 2009's Modern Warfare 2 didn't even try for plausibility, opting for a balls-to-the-wall plot about a rogue American general forcing a war between American and Russia. Nukes were fired. Cities destroyed. American soil invaded. And more than a few shocking betrayals before all was said and done. At its best, the Modern Warfare series was more interested in bombastic stories that wouldn't be out of place in a Michael Bay film while also putting on a military technology show that would make Tom Clancy blush.
2022's Modern Warfare 2 desperately wants to be plausible. And that's fine! 2019's Modern Warfare had a mission that deliberately aped the Benghazi embassy attack and it was an instant classic. But what the 2019 prequel understood was that it wasn't enough to simply show shocking cinematics or well rendered interiors- you also needed to make the experience fun. Defending the embassy from an entire city was a blast. 2022's Modern Warfare 2 fails to reach such heights- I'd even argue that it couldn't be bothered to try.
It's really quite a shame. For all the noise the content of this campaign is likely to generate- from its odd portrayals of Mexican cartel violence to its haphazard preaching about the dangers of PMCs to its remarkable ability to score yet another Press F moment for the franchise (in which you are directed to "DE-ESCALATE" a situation by pointing a gun at a civilian)- it's really not in service of much. For all the moral warts of past COD stories you could always circle back and say "yeah but that mission was really, really fun". No such defense can be found here.
This would be easier to swallow if the price tag of the experience didn't range from $70-$100, but alas, it does, so what you're essentially paying for is access to multiplayer ahead of the release of Warzone 2.
The rewards for completing the campaign are minimal and seem to pale in comparison with the prior entry. And if you're interested in suffering through it at a higher difficulty level...all I can ask is "why?". There doesn't seem to be a real reward for doing so- in fact, I turned the difficulty down to Recruit at several points simply so I could be done with it.
Normally, I wouldn't bother wasting a take on what is essentially a training mode for a game's much more popular multiplayer component, but I frankly expected better. COD has always delivered a memorable single player experience- or at least has tried to. It's unfortunate that this feels mailed in. Lets hope that isn't the case the next time around.
Let's hope that the next campaign lets you off the rails a bit more.

A Guide to Choosing the Right Tata Structura Products for Your Needs
Tumblr media
It is not an exaggeration to say that steel significantly influences human lives. It is everywhere, such as the cars people drive, the premises they live and work in, and many other facets. Engineers use them in power grids, line towers, machine tools and equipment, oil and natural gas pipelines, and military arsenal. and even in the fabrication of sturdy and reliable steel gate. The list is endless and continual. Steel is undoubtedly the most distinguished, multi-functional and highly adaptable material for domestic and industrial use.
When people talk about steel, they should not forget the contribution made by Tata Steel in the Indian and global markets since its inception in 1907 in Jamshedpur. The company has succeeded in manufacturing a broad range of superior quality steel products, which are always in high demand and have made them the world's top leaders.
One of the premium steel products launched in 2005 is Tata Structura. It is presently the most dominant hollow section brand in project construction, such as airports, metro rail, stadiums, etc.
Know More About Tata Structura YST 355 Encouraged by its vast popularity and ongoing demand in the Indian market, the Tata Group upgraded the brand in 2016, namely Tata Structura YST 355. It was the first brand in India YST 355 grade hollow section to meet the rising market demands. The structural tubes conform to IS: 4923, and Rectangular/square and circular open sections conform to IS: 1161.
These high-strength steel hollow sections comprise exceptional standards and are manufactured using top-grade inputs (HR Coils) from Tata Steel’s high-ranking Hot Strip Mill. Tata Structura is lightweight, durable and highly resistant to seismic forces. These state-of-the-art structural tubes cater to construction needs under infrastructure, architectural, industrial, and general engineering applications.
The making of Tata Structura Steel Hollow Sections
Tata Structura's seamless hollow sections involve a distinct manufacturing process. The process requires extruding a solid steel billet into a concave shape, removing all seams or joints. It produces an output with even, sustained, consistent dimensions and material strength.
Consequently, it becomes an automatic choice for precision engineering projects and high-pressure applications. Besides, these seamless hollow sections offer high resistance to corrosion, stress, and extreme weather fluctuations. These products ideally match the industries, namely, automotive manufacturing, power generation and oil and gas. where the use of stainless steel tube is crucial for enhanced durability and performance.
Tata Structura Steel is produced via two prominent routes:
• (BF-BOF) The blast furnace-basic oxygen furnace route
• (EAF) Electric arc furnace route
The critical distinction between these two routes is the type of input inducted on them. The BF-BOF route consumes coal, iron ore, and recycled steel. On the other hand, the EAF route takes in electricity and recycled steel. The EAF route can also use other sources, such as DRI (direct-reduced iron) or hot metal, depending on plant configuration and the availability of recycled steel. Approximately 70% of Tata Structura hollow steel sections take the BF-BOF route, aiming to maintain a pollution-free environment.

Explosions were reported Monday at Russian air base that is home to the country's supersonic strategic bombers just days after satellite imagery suggested the site was being used to prepare for a massive new bombing campaign in Ukraine.
Writing on Telegram, Roman Busargin, governor of the Saratov region, appeared to confirm that several blasts occurred. "The incidents at military facilities [are] being checked by law enforcement agencies," he wrote, stating that no civilian infrastructure was damaged.
The Russian Ministry of Defense later issued a statement attributing the blasts a Ukrainian attack.
According to the ministry, Ukraine used Soviet-era "unmanned aerial vehicles" to strike at its Engels base, in the Saratov oblast, and another airfield, Dyagilevo. Two aircraft were "slightly damaged," the ministry claimed, from "fragments" of the attacking vehicles, which it claimed to have destoryed. Four soldiers were also injured, it said.
The Engels air base, located more than 370 miles from the Ukrainian border, is used by Russia's fleet of strategic bombers, including the Tupolev Tu-160 heavy bomber, also known as the Blackjack, which can travel at speeds greater than 1,500 miles per hour.
News of the explosion comes days after the German news outlet Der Spiegel reported on satellite imagery depicting an "unusual" amount of activity at the airport, which it suggested was a prelude to a "new heavy air attack on Ukraine." Images posted Monday by the commercial satellite firm Maxar shows the base hosting the Tu-160 as well as the Tu-95, or Bear, strategic bomber. Both planes are capable of carrying nuclear and conventional missiles.
Russian bombers have fired long-range cruise missiles as part of the intensifying barrages on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, while taking care to steer clear of Ukraine's airspace out of what military analysts believe are fears they could be shot down by the enemy air defenses.
In the separate reported attack, a fuel tanker exploded at the Dyagilevo airbase, southeast of Moscow. The base is also home to strategic bombers. The Moscow Times reported that three people were killed and two planes damaged by the blast, citing state and independent media.
Mykhaylo Podolyak, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, obliquely referenced the explosions in a post on social media, writing: "if something is launched into other countries' airspace, sooner or later unknown flying objects will return to departure point."

HITT Retains CWS For RF Shielding Film Installation Project
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. -- HITT Builders have retained Commercial Window Shield for a radio frequency [RF] shielding film installation project.
HITT will be renovating one floor in a building occupied by KBR, an international science, technology and engineering solutions company headquartered in Houston, Texas. Within the revamped floor a sensitive compartmented information facility [SCIF] will be constructed.
SCIFs involve the processing of classified information related to U.S. military, national security and defense, and the country’s intelligence network. With the installation of the RF film by Commercial Window Shield on the SCIF glass, a full-proof method of preventing electronic eavesdropping and theft of secure and classified information from computers, cell phones and other technical equipment will be obtained.
Tumblr media
Alarmingly, this has become a serious issue in high-security office buildings and in offices with computers storing vital information, either for the federal government or the private sector. In recent years, Commercial Window Shield has become the go-to installer of radio frequency [RF] shielding film.
The project is expected to begin in winter, 2024. As usual, Commercial Window Shield installers will coordinate schedules with other HITT contractors.
The company’s major focus has been security and solar control window film installation. But in addition to RF and blast films, the company also is expert in installing decorative/privacy, switchable smart and anti-bird strike films as well as polycarbonate protective glass systems.
The company has had a close working relationship with HITT since 2008, having completed numerous window film installation projects. In addition to HITT, Commercial Window Shield works with other top general contractors, including DAVIS, Rand Construction, DPR Construction, D/Watts, Harvey-Cleary and Gilbane Building Co.
Commercial Window Shield clients have included the U.S. Capitol, FBI headquarters, the Pentagon, all House of Representative and Library of Congress buildings, Grand Central Terminal, Merrill Lynch headquarters, the United Nations, the Willis [former Sears] Tower, O’Hare and Seattle international airports, and the Philadelphia and Denver mints.

Sudan's army appeared to gain the upper hand on Sunday in a bloody power struggle with rival paramilitary forces after blasting its bases with air strikes, witnesses said, and at least 59 civilians were killed including three U.N. workers.
The fighting erupted on Saturday between army units loyal to General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, head of Sudan's transitional governing Sovereign Council, and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), led by General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemedti, who is deputy head of the council.
It was the first such outbreak since both joined forces to oust veteran Islamist autocrat Omar Hassan al-Bashir in 2019 and was sparked by a disagreement over the integration of the RSF into the military as part of a transition towards civilian rule.
Burhan and Hemedti agreed to a three-hour humanitarian pause from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time (1400 GMT-1700 GMT) on Sunday proposed by the United Nations, the U.N. mission in Sudan said, with both sides saying in separate statements they had agreed to it.
A Reuters witness in central Khartoum said firing appeared initially to have subsided, but shortly afterwards reported heavy bombardments. Gunfire could still be heard and plumes of smoke seen in the background of live broadcasts from the Sudanese capital.
Doctors' unions had said earlier it was difficult for medics and the sick to get to and from hospitals and called on the army and RSF to provide safe passage.
The United States, China, Russia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the U.N. Security Council, European Union and African Union have appealed for an quick end to the hostilities that threaten to worsen instability in an already volatile wider region.
Efforts by neighbours and regional bodies to end the violence intensified on Sunday. That included an offer by Egypt and South Sudan to mediate between the fighting parties, according to a statement by the Egyptian presidency.
The eruption of fighting over the weekend followed rising tensions over the RSF's integration into the military. Discord over the timetable for that has delayed the signing of an internationally-backed agreement with political parties on a transition to democracy after a 2021 military coup.
AIR STRIKES
Witnesses and residents told Reuters that the army had carried out air strikes on RSF barracks and bases, including in Omdurman across the Nile river from the capital Khartoum, and managed to destroy most of their facilities.
They said the army had also wrested back control over much of Khartoum's presidential palace from the RSF after both sides claimed to control it and other key installations in Khartoum, where heavy artillery and gun battles raged into Sunday.
RSF members remained inside Khartoum international airport besieged by the army but it was holding back from striking them to avoid wreaking major damage, witnesses said.
"The hour of victory is near," the army said in a statement on Sunday. "We pray for mercy for the innocent lives taken by this reckless adventure taken by the rebel Rapid Support militia ... We will have good news for our patient and proud people soon, God willing."
But a major problem, witnesses and residents said, was posed by thousands of heavily armed RSF members deployed inside neighbourhoods of Khartoum and other cities, with no authority able to control them.
"We're scared, we haven't slept for 24 hours because of the noise and the house shaking. We're worried about running out of water and food, and medicine for my diabetic father," Huda, a young resident in southern Khartoum told Reuters.
"There's so much false information and everyone is lying. We don't know when this will end, how it will end," she added.
Tagreed Abdin, an architect in Khartoum, said the power was out and people were trying to conserve phone batteries. "We can hear air strikes, shelling, and gunfire," she said.
Sudan's MTN telecommunications company blocked internet services on the orders of the government telecommunications regulator, two company officials told Reuters.
State television cut its transmission on Sunday afternoon, Reuters reporters in Khartoum and several cities outside the country said. It was not clear what caused the outage.
UN HALTS FOOD AID OPERATIONS
The U.N. World Food Programme said it had temporarily halted all operations in hunger-stricken areas of Sudan after three Sudanese employees were killed during fighting in North Darfur and a WFP plane was hit during a gun battle at Khartoum airport.
"I ... am extremely appalled by reports of projectiles hitting U.N. and other humanitarian premises, as well as reports of looting of U.N. and other humanitarian premises in several locations in Darfur," Volker Perthes, U.N. special envoy for Sudan and head of its country mission, said in a statement.
A protracted confrontation could plunge Sudan into widespread conflict as it struggles with economic breakdown and tribal violence, derailing efforts to move towards elections.
Energy-rich powers Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have sought to shape events in Sudan, seeing the transition away from toppled strongman Bashir's rule as a way to roll back Islamist influence and improve stability in the region.
They have also pursued investments in sectors including agriculture, where Sudan holds vast potential, and ports on Sudan's Red Sea coast.
CAUGHT UP IN THE FIGHTING
Several groups of people reported being stranded by fighting near the presidential palace and military headquarters in Khartoum.
The Central Committee of Sudanese Doctors reported at least 56 civilians had been killed and 595 people including combatants had been wounded since the fighting erupted.
Scores of military personnel were killed, the doctors' committee said, without giving a specific number due to a lack of first-hand information from hospitals.
Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan bin Al-Saud had separate phone calls with Burhan and Hemedti and called for an end to military escalation, Saudi state media said on Sunday. The minister affirmed Riyadh's call for calm.
In a speech to an Arab League meeting on the crisis on Sunday, Sudan said the Sudanese should be allowed to reach a settlement internally without foreign interference.
In an emergency session, the African Union's Peace and Security Council also said it strongly rejected any external interference that could complicate the situation in Sudan.
The armed forces said it would not negotiate with the RSF unless the force dissolved. The army told soldiers seconded to the RSF to report to nearby army units, which could deplete RSF ranks if they obey.
RSF leader Hemedti, deputy head of state, called military chief Burhan a "criminal" and a "liar".
(This story has been refiled to fix Saudi foreign minister's name to Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, not Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdul, in paragraph 28)

It’s one thing standing in line to watch the blockbuster film “Oppenheimer.” It’s another thing entirely queueing up in a remote desert to experience the location of the film’s most pivotal scene.
But if you’re a fan of atomic history and can swing central New Mexico this October, your pilgrimage through the Jornada del Muerto (Dead Man’s Journey) will be so worth the effort.
Saturday, October 21, presents a rare opportunity to visit not just one but two scientifically significant and movie-famous destinations on the same day – each occupying opposite ends of the electromagnetic spectrum.
Trinity Site is the national historic landmark that’s home to mankind’s first nuclear blast on July 16, 1945, where plutonium gamma rays lit up the night sky. It hosts only two open house events each year.
And while you’re in the area, an extraordinary bonus is a second, free-of-charge open house aimed specifically at Trinity Site adventurers who are willing to drive another 100 miles to take in a second mind-bending experience.
It’s the Very Large Array Radio Observatory (VLA), which was dramatized in the 1997 alien-life movie “Contact.” The VLA telescope can spread wider than New York City, able to capture the whispers of distant radio waves as they undulate across our cosmos.
Rare access to Trinity Site
Trinity Site opens only two Saturdays a year. Once in April, and lucky for “Oppenheimer” enthusiasts, again in October.
The exact dates are announced in advance each year by the US Army.
The site is a secure military installation within the forbidding White Sands Missile Range, where live weapons are regularly tested. The terrain is high desert plateau, dotted with creosote brush and not much else.
In our everyday crush of crowds, traffic and strip malls, the Land of Enchantment’s sheer miles of open landscape and soul-nourishing cobalt vistas inspire. Buzz Aldrin’s impression of the moon’s surface parallels Trinity Site, a “magnificent desolation.”
When J. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist known as the “father of the atomic bomb,” led his Manhattan Project team to Trinity, it wasn’t just for the isolation. He had history with New Mexico, attending summer boys’ camps during his youth. Because of the popularity of the movie “Oppenheimer,” a surge of visitors is expected on October 21.
The open house event, hosted by the US Army, is free but limited to the first 5,000 guests, on a first-come, first-served basis.
How to get there
From Albuquerque International Sunport airport, your best bet is a rental car for the two-hour drive south. It’s easy to get disoriented while navigating, so stick to the Army’s directions, as GPS instructions can be wonky. Take screen photos of the route mapped on your phone – as you may lose cell service – and have an actual roadmap as backup.
Aim to arrive at Trinity’s Stallion Gate before 8 a.m., when the gate opens. There will already be a line. Be early, and you’ll still have plenty of time for the day’s second adventure. Army officials will check your ID at the gate, and from there it’s a 17-mile (27-kilometer) drive to a parking lot located a quarter-mile walk from the reason you came – Ground Zero.
Trinity Site’s atmosphere during an open house is reminiscent of a small-town carnival from a bygone era. Vendors selling souvenir trinkets. Kids in strollers. Dogs wagging tails. Porta Potties. That’s until you notice the pop-up tent displaying Geiger counters. And another with radioactive Trinitite, the mysterious green-glass rock that rained down from the bomb’s blast.
Ominous fence signs remind guests that it’s against the law to remove any pieces of Trinitite they spy on the ground because ingested fragments retain enough radioactivity to be dangerous.
The famed 1918 McDonald adobe ranch house, where the bomb’s critical plutonium core was assembled in the master bedroom, survived the shock wave two miles away mostly intact. Buses shuttle visitors back and forth free of charge from the Trinity parking lot to the McDonald house.
Venture in farther to stand next to a life-size replica of Fat Man, the nuclear bomb dropped on Nagasaki, Japan, on August 9, 1945.
Visitors can pose for photos inside Jumbo, the 216-ton steel cylinder scientists contemplated detonating the bomb – nicknamed the Gadget – within to contain its plutonium core if the full detonation failed.
Experiencing Ground Zero
The moment arrives to approach Ground Zero, marked simply by a black stone obelisk that’s 12 feet (3.66 meters) high.
Step back in time to the pre-dawn of July 16, 1945. Glance north, west and south where Oppenheimer’s team hunkered down in three bunkers, five miles away. You stand where the course of humanity shifted. Where the boundaries of physics and possibility stretched.
Picture the 100-foot-high steel tower that stood where the obelisk stands now. A few feet away only nubs of the tower remain, the bulk annihilated in the blast.
See in your mind the mattresses hauled in and stacked high to cushion the fall should the chains snap as they winched the heavy Gadget high into the air. And young scientists rotated throughout the night babysitting the bomb as crackles of lightning threatened to strike.
Oppenheimer wrote the poem “Crossing” two decades before Trinity. His words contained the prophetic passage, “…in the dry hills down by the river, half withered, we had the hot winds against us.” He could not have imagined the heat to come.
Now close your eyes.
Ignore what you do see to imagine the history you cannot see.
The storms over the mountains. New Mexico Gov. John Dempsey is at home asleep, oblivious to when the blast will occur. Finally, the mists of rain clear. The countdown to fission begins. There’s a sense of dread, however remote, that Earth’s atmosphere might ignite in a cataclysmic chain reaction.
And finally, the detonation.
Man’s first nuclear genie shatters its bottle, unleashing the ferocity of the atom, with an explosion 10,000 times hotter than our sun. Thirty-seven minutes later, the wounded sky brightens again, to the dawn of man’s first atomic sunrise.
Reflect on the glaring omission that while the area surrounding Trinity was remote, it was not unpopulated.
Civilians termed “downwinders,” subjected to radioactive fallout fluttering down from the sky, were assured that the flash and fury some saw and heard was an ammunition explosion at nearby Alamogordo Air Base. After atomic bombs dropped over Hiroshima and Nagasaki the following month, they realized the stark truth.
Jim Eckles, an Army historian who oversaw decades of Trinity open house events, shared the site’s significance: “The ‘Oppenheimer’ movie resurrected concerns we’ve lost sight of. That thousands of nuclear warhead missiles are still out there, able to launch. We need clever intelligent people to deal with the sequence that began at Trinity.”...'
