So, felted this old mushroom hat I knit in the wash. I knew it would felt, but it was either wash it in a machine several times or throw it away.
I think it would make a good project bag, but I want the mushrooms to be right side up, so I'm not sure whether I will cut off the crown and sew it to the brim and then crochet a few extra inches on top, or just leave it as it is and crochet along the brim to lengthen it instead. My first thought was a drawstring but given the depth and how thick the colorwork is, it would be such a fucked up looking bag. Either way it needs a lot more length. We'll see...

Recent projects update!
I finished spinning the jacobs fleece I had carded. Two skeins, 136g /86yd total. My plan was to make some slippers with it and I did do that but I really overestimated how much slipper I could get out of 86yd lol so! I used the jacobs for the soles and then some millspun wool for the uppers. Of course it's warm now, but they'll still be nice for wearing in the weaving studio (unfinished basement).

They're a little big around the top and they don't stay on very well, but I have already figured out how to fix it and it will be nbd. Moving on!
I made some cotton handkerchiefs for my Grammy's 90th birthday! I used my 8/2 cotton in plain weave and they were just too heavy to really feel like a hankie. I've ordered some 16/2 cotton and some 8/2 cottolin to test out for future hankies.

It took me a couple tries to get the hems right so I only finished 2 of the 4 I planned. But that's why I planned 4! I learned a lot in the process and I'm extremely satisfied with my mitered corners and the decorative hem stitch.
This is my current project! I'm calling them fibonacci towels because I used out of order fibonacci numbers to plan out the widths of the stripes. Not because I'm some kind of fancy math guy but because I have a terrible eye for design and I figured the golden ratio would be a good place to start.

I like an asymmetrical plaid and I thought this would be fun! I also never use bright colors like this so I'm having a good time. If I like the way the pattern turns out, I may make some blue and green ones too.

The last of the 12 colors of the #PrideCollection by @iamfullyspun Reposted from @iamfullyspun (3/3) The Pride Collection is finally here! It has been on my to-dye list for over a year and I am glad I finally had the chance to create it. As a member of the lgbtq+ community, it is an honor to have been able to create these colorways. It took over two weeks and most of them I had to try two or three times to get just right. All that effort is worth it to create something that makes people feel represented! ✨HEY Y’ALL! We need your help coming up with a yarn line name!✨ So- we thought that our Remix Worsted was going to be a once and done yarn that we made, to over come an inconsistent wool issue we ran into while prepping for NY Sheep and Wool….BUT- y’all liked it so much, we found a way to keep it as a regular yarn line in the shop! So, now we need your help! We are going to rename this yarn, since the process of producing it, is changing just a touch, but we are super stumped on what to call it 🤔. It is going to stay a blend of wool fibers that the mill is going to combine for us during the drafting process. It will be a blend of several colors that we dye in house, as well as some upcycled wool from the mill that would usually be tossed as waste. ⬇️Drop those name suggestions below, and the person who’s yarn name we choose, will get a skein of the new run, on us!⬇️ 💥Just an FYI! If you would like to purchase a few skeins from the original run of Remix Worsted, get on over to the website and grab them up! We only have ~50 skeins left, and once they are gone, they are gone forever.💥 Thanks for your help!!! ♥️ ♥️pattern: Xarah ♥️designer: @katta_rinah #primroseyarnco #yarn #yarnspiration #yarnstagram #indiedyer #indiedyedyarn #rusticyarn #millspun #americanwool #indiedyersofig #indiedyersofinstagram #indiedyed #yarnlove #yarnie https://www.instagram.com/p/ClB2A_Or-UB/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

For how simple these socks look, it's kinda aggravating how long they took to make. All told I probably knit 4 or 5 socks pit together because I kept frogging them. The "how do I make a toe that doesn't have hard creases with so few stitches (34)" thing caused me to frog the toes many times, but then after that I kept messing up other things (forgetting the last round of toe increases so the whole body was 2 stitches smaller than its pair, for example). Glad to be done with them, I really hope they fit my sister.

Playing with new techniques, dyeing millspun yarn. Entirely different ball game, but fun so far. If I make this a regular colorway I'm going to have to call it "Driving Out the Snakes!" #indiedyer #dyersofinstagram #yarn #dyedyarn #indiedyedyarn #indiedyersofinstagram #handdyedyarn #knitting https://www.instagram.com/p/Bvv5dW5Fz6G/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=xpajiqqggqis

for my current project i'm spinning enough yarn to knit a bulky comfy cardigan. i'm following the tofino cardigan pattern (link to ravelry) and trying to spin a super bulky yarn that is of similar size/length/etc as the millspun version the original pattern uses. i need to spin about 500 grams of yarn at ~650 yards, with a knitting gauge of about 9 sts / 12 rows per 10 cm (4") square in stockinette and 6 wraps per inch in order to have a yarn that will function similarly to those pictured in the pattern.
the majority of the yarn (approx 400 grams) is going to be made from this pale grey/beige corriedale roving, and the remaining 100 grams will be spun from this handpainted merino braid i got from bad habit wool co on etsy. i'm spinning both as semi-woolen 2-ply yarns on my heavy drop spindle, because i want a sweater that is soft and fluffy and i have the most control when spinning bulky yarns on a spindle. i can't decide if i'm gonna do a colour block situation or random speckles between the two different yarns for the actual sweater so i'll have to do some testing. the bottom skein of yarn is my sample test yarn i spun to make sure i have the gauge/size correct before i spin a whole pound of yarn lmao.

Fakery is complete! This is the second curl that I have knitted. This one is using the Lavender Fields Kashmir six pack from Fiber Optic Yarns. It's not a difficult knit, though I may try a couple stitches of garter stitch in place of the slip stitch edge the next time out. The inside curve doesn't block out as far as I would like it with the slip stitch. Last time, I thought it might be the yarn, which was my handspun. But with using a millspun yarn this time, I am pretty sure that it's the stitch. I still like how it turned out, though.
