Chapter One- Part Two
Phina tapped her foot anxiously throughout the last class of her day. Her classmates glared at her but didn't say anything.
"And that's how..... Phina are you all right," the teacher stopped by her desk as he asked.
"Nope," she replied popping the p in the word.
The teacher frowned at her but continued on with the class. Everyone turned their eyes back to the front of the class, except Steve Harrington. Steve stared at her, and she felt his gaze on her.
The two had the unfortunate luck of sitting next to each other in the three classes they shared, every, single, one. Phina didn't know if fate was against them, or if the teachers just wanted them to suffer. Being that close to him was enough to make her angry, and for him to be staring at her, added to the fire.
"I'd suggest you turn that pretty head of yours forward Harrington," she snapped quietly.
He did exactly that, but continued to keep glancing at her through the corner of his eye.
Each time his eyes would land on her, she wanted to snap at him, but restrained herself, tapping her foot even more each time. He opened his mouth like he was going to say something, and Phina prepared to sarcastically reply.
The bell wrung and Phina stood as fast as lightening, knocking her chair over in the process. Saved by the bell, Phina thought to herself. Steve shook his head and slowly packed his things up, watching her from the corner of her eye.
Phina glared sharply at him and grabbed her things, rushing out of the room, not caring that she ran into to people on the way out. Getting away from Harrington as fast as possible was worth the bitchy comments she got.
All day, she'd felt this terrible coldness in her stomach, the utter wrongness of it scared her, and mixing Steve Harrington with that, how she made it through the day was a miracle.
She hurried to her locker, shoving away the things she didn't need and grabbing what she did. She needed to get out of the school, it was suffocating her.
"What's got your panties in a twist," she heard Tommy's voice from behind her.
She slammed her locker shut, louder than what was probably necessary, and turned to walk away. Phina was not up for his bullshit today.
"Nuh-uh, answer me weirdo," Tommy said as he grabbed her shoulder and turned her around.
"The thought of having to see your ugly face for one more second is making me a little queasy," she snapped.
"Ouch, that hurt," Tommy poured playfully.
"Good," Phina bit out, spinning on her heel, "hopefully I'll deflate your big head a little."
Carol stood behind her, blocking Phina's path. A small crowd formed around them, almost as if they sensed the fight brewing. It's wouldn't be the first time Phina had fought one of them, just never when the other was near.
"Where do you think your going," Carol smirked.
Phina glared at her, "home."
"What home. The Wheeler's? Ha! That ain't your home. Your home is probably in some hole out in the forest, just like the one they found you in," Carol laughed.
A low growl escaped Phina's throat. That had always been Carol's go to insult, and no matter how many times Phina heard it, it still stung.
"Hey hey hey, leave her alone alright?"
Phina turned to look at who said it, Steve.
"I don't need you to defend me Harrington," she spat.
"Don't flatter yourself Wheeler, I'm trying to keep my friends out of trouble," he shot back.
She rolled her eyes and turned back to Carol. Carol smiled sourly at Phina, and Phina smiled back, like a vicious snake, before walking forward, her shoulder roughly hitting Carol's.
Phina sat at the dinner table of her house, the rest of her family too. She stared blankly into her plate, upset about Will, he was officially missing. When her mom had told her when she got home, all she wanted to do was cry. The feeling she had all day, even the night before, it was about Will.
Mike, who sits to Phina's left, starts talking, "We should be out there right now. We should be helping look for him."
Karen looks at him, "we've been over this, the Chief said..."
"I don't care what the Chief said" Mike snaps.
"Michael," Karen says, aghast.
"He's right you know. Will could be in danger right now," Phina jumps in, aiding her brother.
"All the more reason to stay put," Karen states.
Mike starts to argue, "mom..."
"We could join the search party," Phina adds in.
"End of discussion," she snaps.
Everyone goes silent, Phina grabs Mike's hand under the table to comfort him. He smiles sadly at her.
Nancy then looks at her mom, "so. Me and Barb we're gonna study for the chemistry test at her house tonight. That's cool, right?"
"No. Not cool," Karen answers.
"What? Why not," Nancy whines.
"What do you think? Am I speaking Chinese in this house? Until we know Will is safe, no one leaves."
She doesn't leave any room for argument. Karen lookes over at Phina pointedly, daring her to ask to leave tonight like her siblings. Phina held up her hands in surrender, she didn't want to go anywhere, the only place she would want to go to would be the Byers' house, and she knew they needed time to be together.
"So we're under house arrest," Nancy asks.
"Don't be dramatic Nancy," Karen sighs.
Phina can practically see the anger radiating off of her younger sister, and she had no idea how to diffuse the situation, before it got bad.
"This is such bullshit," Nancy yells.
Ted finally speaks up, "language!"
"Barb lives two minutes away. Just because Mike's friend got lost on his way home," Phina cuts Nancy off.
"Don't you dare blame this on Will."
"Nancy take that back," Karen snaps.
Nancy looks at her angered, "no!"
Phina glares at her about to snap, but Mike beats her to it, "you're just pissed because you want to hang out with Steve!"
"Steve?" Ted asks.
"Who's Steve?" Karen asks.
"Her new boyfriend," Mike says smugly.
"You're such a douchebag Mike!" Nancy yells.
"Language," Ted yells.
Phina rubs her temples, an ache had started forming in her head.
Nancy stands up and storms up to her room.
"Nancy! Come back! Nancy!"
"Leave her alone," Phina says calmly, "she'snot thinking rationally, try to talk to her now and you'll both say things you don't mean."
Karen looks at her daughter and sighs deeply, nodding, she knew Phina was right. Holly starts to get a little upset so Karen starts to sush her, trying to ease her daughter's, and her own stress.
"See Michael, this is what happens," Ted says disappointedly at Mike, like he was entirely at fault here.
"What happens when what! We're the only one acting normal here," Mike yells and gestures towards Phina, "Phina and I are the only ones who care about Will!"
"That's not fair, Micheal. We care," Ted says after taking a bite of his chicken, almost sarcastic in his reply.
Phina glares at Ted, with the glare that could make anyone uncomfortable, and it certainly worked on him, "that's bull and you know it."
Phina stands up and pulling Mike along with her, they storm off together. Phina glances at Mike as soon as they leave the dining room, and she can practically see a plan forming in his head. She stops them at the bottom of the stairs, turning to place her hands on his shoulders.
"Mike, whatever your planning, please be safe. I'll cover for you only until midnight," she tells him, "ok?"
"Ok," Mike nods and hugs Phina around her waist.
Phina goes up to her room and she grabs her sketchbook from her bag. The whole night, and day, had made her stressed beyond belief. Drawing was one of the few things that calmed her down.
Phina grabs a blanket and a sweater, before climbing out of her window and onto the roof of the lower part of her house. She did this regularly, sitting outside for hours on end, drawing, reading, or just staring at the stars. She set up the blanket and went back inside to grab a few pillows from her bed. When she came back out of the window, she heard a noise coming from her sisters window.
"What are you doing? I told you I had to stay in tonight," she hears Nancy say.
"I know, so we'll study here," Steve answers.
Phina almost groaned out loud at that, knowing what his studying meant. She was sick of Steve Harrington being around her sister, especially today. For some reason, Steve and Nancy's relationship bothered her deeply, and she wanted to say it was because she hated him and his group of friends viciously, but even with how good she was at lying, she couldn't lie to herself.
Phina crawled out of her window as soon as she heard Nancy's window close, setting up her pillows and sitting down. She pulled her sketchbook into her lap and opened it to a new page. Phina didn't know what she wanted to draw, but as soon as her pencil touched the page, her hand took over and her mind let it.
She let her mind go blank, not quite focused on anything around her. Minutes, maybe even hours passed by, before her drawing was finished, and her hand was cramping. When she came back too, and looked down at her page, she almost shrieked.
A gruesome monster was on the page, standing over a small figure, that almost looked like Will. The monster was almost human like, but it's tall, lanky, figure was definitely not. The most horrific part of it, was the grotesque face, which was opened up in the shape of a strange flower, but it definitely wasn't pretty. It had more teeth than she could count, long and sharp, lining it's entire mouth.
An electric feeling danced across Phina's skin, the sign of a storm. That feeling, added to the monster she drew, had her looking all around her, like she might be attacked.
Phina felt a few rain drops hit her head, and she scrambled to hide her sketchbook. She bundles everything up into a large blanket, rushing to keep everything dry. She throws her bundle throw the window and practically dived through her window, with much more success than she had heard Steve do earlier.
Almost as soon as she closes her window behind her, the rain starts pouring down. Phina grabs her sketchbook from underneath her shirt, where she had hid it, and opens the book to the monster drawing, sitting down on her bed.
There was now way she was going to get any sleep tonight. She knew that everyone she closed her eyes, she'd see that thing, and there would be no saving her from the nightmares she would have. Phina let her body fall backwards onto her bed, staring at the ceiling for a solid ten minutes.
She sighs, shuts her book, and prepared for the night ahead with a quiet, "fuck me."

Hi dear
HI SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG I KNOW I’M A PIECE OF WORK.
This fic got way outta hand, so I hope you enjoy all 3004 words (sorry).
Butterflies
At last, school was out. It was the weird transitional summer between eighth grade and high school, but Mike felt more relaxed than ever.
So far, fourteen had turned out to be a good year. He had El back, Will was okay and hadn’t had another episode in months, he and Max were on good terms, and she and El had joined the party as full time members. His parents were giving him more freedom to be a teenager, and Mike was sure this would be the best summer yet.
What made it even better was knowing that he had an entire two months off that he could spend with El.
El’s knowledge grew faster and faster each day; she was absolutely brilliant going from a first grade reading level to an eighth grade level within weeks. She loved math because of how black and white it was, she didn’t need human experience or research to back up her answers, she loved history and geography because it solidified that there was so much of the world outside the lab, and she loved art because it allowed her to be free to put all her feelings down on paper without having to use words. El had caught up to the others in the party and would be joining them at Hawkins High in the fall, and Mike couldn’t be more excited.
“You know Mike,” his mom started one evening as he helped her with the dishes, “now that it’s summer, maybe you should ask your little friend El on a date.” Karen smirked knowingly seeing her son’s face turn red with embarrassment.
“E-El? We’re just friends.” He stammered. Mike didn’t want her to know how much he’d actually been thinking about asking her out.
Karen’s eyebrows rose. “You’re absolutely sure about that?”
“Yeah! She’s a friend… just a friend.”
“Well, Nancy seems to think otherwise. She was going to offer to take you two to the movies when she goes with Jonathan tomorrow, but if you don’t want to I’ll just tell her –”
“N-no!” He protested. “I mean…” Mike sighed, “yeah, El is a friend but… but maybe I like her… a little bit.”
Karen smiled. She knew Mike had a thing for El, she could tell from the way they interacted right from the first time she’d met the young girl. As a mom, Karen was a strange mix of sad and proud, sad that her little boy was growing up so quickly, but proud of the man he was becoming. She resisted the urge to pinch his cheek and held in a hug.
“Great, I’ll let Nancy know then.”
Mike smiled at his mom and immediately went to the phone.
“H-hi Hopper, is El available?”
“Yeah she’s here. Hey El… your boyfriend’s on the phone.”
Mike chuckled hearing a faint not my boyfriend come from the other end of the phone.
“Hi El, I-I was wondering, do you want to go see Back to the Future with me tomorrow?”
“Okay!” She said excitedly. “Will the rest of the party be there?”
“N-no… Nancy and Jonathan are driving, but I was hoping it would be just us… like… like a date?”
El was quiet. “Oh.” She’d been starting to go outside more often, apart from just one of the boys’ or Max’s house, but she’d never gone out just blatantly in public. “I have to ask Hopper.”
Mike waited patiently as El spoke with Hopper.
“Mike?”
“Yeah El?”
“He said it’s okay!”
The next afternoon, Mike prepared for his date with El, but everything was going wrong.
The humidity made his normal (manageable) hair even poofier; he sighed as he tried to brush through the thick curls, but only made them bouncier. Holly spilled grape juice on the shirt he had set out to wear (blue, a colour he knew El loved), so instead he was stuck wearing a yellow short-sleeved button down his mom had just bought him.
Mike’s head hung low as he exited the bathroom, bumping into Nancy.
“Oh my god is that what you’re wearing on your date?”
Mike looked down at himself. “What’s wrong with it?”
“You look like a dork. Here.” She pulled him into her room. “Tuck the shirt in, but not tight, okay now roll your sleeves a few times, unbutton a few from the top, here let’s fix your hair…” She fiddled with his style a little bit longer until she was content. “There!”
Mike looked at himself in the mirror and frowned. “I look like Tom Selleck in Magnum P.I…”
“It’s fashionable Mike.”
“El’s gonna laugh at me, I look ridiculous.”
“El’s gonna love it, besides, she loves Magnum P.I.”
Mike looked back to his older sister. “Whatever, we’re going to be late.”
Jonathan eyed Mike carefully as he and Nancy walked to meet him at the end of their driveway.
“Looking good Mike.” Jonathan said, shooting him a smirk.
Mike rolled his eyes. “Thanks.”
“Be nice Mike, Jonathan is trying to compliment you.” Nancy shot back.
“Yeah man, you look cool! Are you nervous for your date?” Jonathan changed the subject.
“N-no. I mean… I dunno. I’ve never been on a date.”
Nancy looked back at her brother sweetly. “Aww, you don’t need to be nervous, it’s just El, think of it like you’re going to the movies with all your friends except it’s just you two. You guys are already so close as it is, nothing really has to change.”
“Unless you want it to of course.” Jonathan piped in.
“What do you mean?” Mike asked.
Jonathan smirked. “Well you know, if you want to be her boyfriend, for real I mean, you’ll probably want to like hold hands and kiss and stuff.”
Mike blushed. He did want to be her boyfriend, and he did want those things. He hadn’t attempted to kiss her again since the snowball, most of the times he saw her, he’d been with the rest of the party, and the times they’d happened to be one on one, Hopper had been just around the corner. He of course didn’t want to push her into something romantic, not when she was only just learning what romance was from movies and TV, but he really wanted something with her.
“Are you gonna kiss her?” Nancy asked him excitedly.
“Ew, why do you care? You’re my sister, aren’t you supposed to be like repulsed by the thought of me kissing girls or something?”
“Technically, yes, but I can’t help it, it’s the first time my nerd little brother is interested in a girl, I didn’t even think you knew what a girl was before El.”
Jonathan sniggered, knowing Nancy’s train of thought exactly from his own talks with Will.
Mike sighed. “I dunno… maybe?”
Nancy shot Jonathan a knowing look as they pulled up in the driveway of the Hopper family’s newly acquired home. Mike jumped out of the car, wringing his hands together as he reached the front door. He lifted a hand to knock, but the door opened to Hopper in his full chief of police gear.
“Hey kid, she’s just doing her hair or something, come on in and wait.” Mike followed Hopper into the living room as he waited for El. He really didn’t want to make small talk with Hop, especially since the man always warned him about “no funny business” whenever they had those rare moments where it was just Mike and El without the party. He got the feeling Hopper was never really serious about it, but Mike had never wanted to take that chance… ever.
“So… a date, huh?”
“Y-yeah.” Mike blushed as his voice cracked.
Hopper laughed. “First one?”
He looked at his feet, but nodded all the same.
“Hers too, obviously.” Hopper looked at Mike, the silence stretching. “Look kid, I’m gonna let you in on a little something here. You don’t have to be nervous, she hasn’t stopped talking about this date thing since you called last night; I haven’t seen her this excited since that dance thing in the winter. Whatever happens, just be a gentleman… there’s gonna be a date number two, believe me, she looks at you like you invented Eggos.”
Mike looked up at Hopper, face lighting up. “Really?”
“Absolutely. You can be a little shit sometimes, but I’m glad she has you. Oh, but if you’re planning on kissing her tonight, just keep it PG, okay? I was dating at your age, I know what happens when parents give their kids the freedom to date.”
Mike blushed, nodding, but keeping his eyes away from Hopper’s. El chose that moment to finally make an appearance. She glided down the stairs in a soft pink sundress, and Mike could have sworn she’d never looked more beautiful, there were definitely stars in his eyes.
“Hi Mike.” She said sweetly.
He stood to greet her. “H-hi El. You look… you look… wow.” El smiled bashfully.
“Well, better not leave your sister waiting then Mike. Wouldn’t want to miss the movie.”
Mike nodded. “What time should I have her home by sir?”
Sir? Hop frowned. “Curfews, right, that’s a thing parents do.” He contemplated what would be reasonable for a night like this. “Ah hell, it’s a special night. Be home by midnight and don’t do anything stupid, you hear?”
Their smiles grew large and they nodded frantically. “We won’t!” El yelled behind her, pulling Mike out of the house and towards Jonathan’s car.
“Hey Ellie!” Jonathan nodded back at her as she buckled her seatbelt. He’d become like a brother to her (and hopefully would be her stepbrother soon if El’s sneaking suspicion was right), and she loved spending time with him.
“That dress is adorable El, I love how you did you hair.” Nancy smiled back at the girl warmly causing El to blush. There was something enigmatic about the Wheeler family, all so special in their own way. Nancy was so cool, effortlessly beautiful, and El wished one day she could be just like her.
“Thanks.”
Their ride to the movies was filled with Mike going on excitedly about it.
“The guys and me have been waiting to see this movie forever!”
“Won’t they be upset that we went without them?”
Mike’s face fell. He hadn’t thought about that… the party had been waiting to see it all together. “I-I don’t think they’ll mind.”
“They won’t” Jonathan piped up. “The guys all freaked out when Mike told them he finally asked you on a date.”
El giggled at Mike’s reddened face. She’d freaked out a little too, calling Max right away asking for advice.
The four of them had arrived at the theater with plenty of time to spare before the movie. Mike paid for popcorn and candy, and they found seats away from where Nancy and Jonathan were sitting.
“You look… different.” El told Mike truthfully. One of the things Mike loved about El was that she never sugar coated anything, she always spoke her mind so transparently.
“Yeah… I planned on wearing—”
“No…” She reached up and touched his curls lightly. “Your hair. I like it.”
Mike blushed. “T-thanks. It—the heat made it curly.”
“It’s cute.” She smiled.
“You’re cute.” He blurted out. Mike’s face grew hot. “I—I mean… god I’m such a mouthbreather.”
El giggled. “A cute mouthbreather.”
His blush deepened and he ducked his head, offering her some popcorn as the lights went down.
El was absolutely entranced by the movie. She’d never been to a proper movie theater before, so all of it was new and exciting.
Mike was more enamored by El than he was by anything else that night. Sure, he was excited about the movie, but he found himself almost paying more attention to her than what was on the screen.
His heart sped up when she started leaning towards him, her head resting lightly on his shoulder as it had in the gym all those years ago by the inflatable pool. Mike looked towards the back of the theater nervously where his sister and her boyfriend had been sitting. She gave him a pointed look, and Jonathan pulled Nancy closer, winking, encouraging Mike to do what he knew he wanted to do.
Mike nudged El gently, and she looked up at him, almost disappointed, until he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her back towards his chest.
El smiled, settling herself into Mike’s embrace, and sighed happily when he pressed a light kiss to the top of her head.
The two stayed that way until the movie ended, and even after the credits had rolled, Mike didn’t want to move.
“Alright lovebirds, we’re going for milkshakes, do you want to come?”
El’s face lit up. “Of course!”
The four of them found themselves at Benny’s minutes later. Mike gave Nancy a pointed look, wanting her to give them their privacy.
“Go get her, tiger.” Jonathan whispered in Mike’s ear as he wandered towards his booth, two milkshakes in hand.
“Your face is red.” El mused. “Why?”
“Oh, um, Jonathan said something embarrassing.”
She giggled. “Did he say go get em tiger?”
Mike frowned. “Y-yeah…”
“He said it to me too when we were at the theater.”
He laughed along with her, his nervousness fizzling a little. “So how’d you like the movie?”
El went on animatedly about how she enjoyed all the action, and Marty’s antics. Mike agreed that they’d definitely be seeing the movie again with the entire party.
“Mike?”
“Yes?”
“Can I come over there?” She gestured to the open seat on his side of the booth.
“Y-yeah of course.” Mike moved in further to make room, and El immediately snuggled up to him.
“When you put your arm around my shoulders… sometimes Hop does it, but it feels different than when you do it.”
Mike frowned, but slung his arm over her shoulder anyways. “Well… Hop is a lot bigger than me.”
“But my stomach doesn’t feel all funny when I sit with Hop.”
He smiled. “I give you butterflies?”
“I… butterflies?”
“Yeah, like when it feels like there’s butterflies in your stomach.”
El lit up. “Oh! Yes, you give me butterflies!”
Mike smiled. “You give me butterflies too, El. Th-that’s a sign you like someone.”
“But I like Hop too… why don’t I get butterflies with him?”
He shook his head. “You like Hop because he’s your dad. You get butterflies… I get butterflies when we sit like this because I like you… like more than a friend.”
“Like… like the snow ball?”
His heart stuttered in his chest as he thought back to their kiss. “Y-yeah, like the snow ball.”
A smile settled over her lovely features again. “Hey Mike?”
“Mmhmm?” He looked down at her. El’s eyes were full of uncertainty, like she wanted to say something, but didn’t know how to say it. He’d seen that look in her eyes before, but she’d never explained it. “El?”
She hesitated slightly, but braced a hand on his chest and leaned in closer to him, until he could feel her breath on his lips. “I-I…” She closed her eyes, and the gap between them, brushing her lips against his ever so softly. “I like you more than a friend too.”
Mike could hear the blood swooshing in his ears, it was so loud, he barely heard her. But he hung on to the inkling of hope that he did hear her correctly, and rushed forwards to pull her into another soft kiss.
El giggled as she pulled away. She’d never felt this giddy, like she was lightheaded and she never wanted to come down from it.
Jonathan smiled a few booths down.
“What?” Nancy asked, turning in her seat to find her brother and his date wrapped up in each other with their backs to them. The couple shared a few chaste kisses, both of them blushing furiously. “Aw, he kissed her Jonny!”
“I knew he had it in him.”
She turned back around, frowning. “Ew, oh god, my little brother is gonna be one of those gross PDA couples at school, isn’t he?”
“Hey, I thought you were happy for him.”
“I am happy for him, it was cute for all of two seconds, and now it’s gross.” She shuddered. “What if it was Will over there right now instead of them? Would you find it cute?”
Jonathan’s face fell. “Okay you have a point.”
Mike and El shared a few more kisses before he was brought back to the present. He glanced at the clock on the wall and sighed. “Well, it’s 11:30, we should get you home.”
El’s face dropped as she stood and pulled her small purse to her chest. “Mike, can we go on another date?”
He smiled and took her hand after sliding out of the booth. “Of course we can.”
The drive back to the Hopper residence was quiet. Jonathan and Nancy said their goodbyes to her as she got out of the car, and Jonathan gave Mike a pointed look through the rearview mirror.
“I-I’ll walk you to the door.”
Mike took her hand; the walk to her porch was short. “I had a lot of fun tonight.”
“So did I. Thank you Mike.”
“Hey El, do—do you want to be my girlfriend?”
Her face lit up. “Yes, I do Mike!” She smiled and leaned in, kissing him softly.
When Mike got back to the car, he had a dazed look on his face.
“You good back there, Romeo?”
“Hm? Oh, oh yeah! She just agreed to be my girlfriend.” Mike couldn’t contain his smile.
“That’s great! But if I catch you making out in the basement I swear to god you’re paying for all the therapy.”
Mike rolled his eyes, half annoyed at his sister’s childishness, but a bigger part of him couldn’t care less. The night had been better than he hoped, and in the end, he could finally be happy with El by his side.

You never really understood the things that people did in their lives, from bullying and abusing others to letting that abuse dictate your life. It made you sound terrible but knowing how Billy’s dad treated him did open your eyes to life. The abuse that Billy faced wasn’t excused because it was something he had always known because it he could have taken it and ran with it in a more positive way.
You didn't have the greatest life either. You and Nancy were twin sisters that shared everything until high school began. You were casual friends with Jonathan Byers in a sense but you were a little more popular than your sister. In freshmen year you had broadened your horizons with trying to find your place in the school, were you a sports girl or a loner or even the cliques in between.
Nancy however became obsessed in a sense of getting good enough grades because in your teens you started to compete against each other. Nancy more so than you. Soon you were enveloped into a group of friends with Steve Harrington and the clingy Carol who self proclaimed herself as your best friend. You definitely did not like Carol or Tommy H.
Soon enough Steve was picking you up and going on hangouts that some would call dates but you truly detested the expected relationship standards America had demanded. That’s how Nancy discovered the boy with great hair who was a year older and when boys are older than you, it’s desired. She kept it a secret and pined for him until that one night when her crush exploded in her face.
“Please don’t make meatloaf.” You begged your mom as she went about in the kitchen cleaning.
“It’s good.” Your mom said sighing as she looked into the clear reflection of her face in the glass cabinet. With a swipe of her finger the smudged lipstick was fixed.
“What about your signature chicken?” You quickly replied.
“The price of chicken has gone up.” She spoke before your father from the living room spoke up.
“Karen, chicken sounds great. Mashed potatoes with gravy too but no mixed vegetables.”
“Ted!”
“What’s going on?” Nancy asked coming into the kitchen to see you groaning.
You were fraternal twins with only some similarities in your features and Nancy believed you were the prettier one while you thought it was the other way around.

“Y/N is bringing her boyfriend for dinner. I insisted we meet him.”
“Boyfriend? Since when?” Nancy frowned thinking back on the few guys you had been seeing since you got into high school. Unbeknownst that there was nothing romantic with them.
“Apparently she’s been keeping this nameless boy a secret for six months now.”
“Who is it?” Nancy questioned picking up an apple from the table.
“It doesn’t matter. Please Mom?” You whined, “He loves chicken but I know you wouldn’t be caught dead with KFC on our table with a new guest.”
“Fine. Ted get the keys!” Your mom sighed, “Can you watch Holly for an hour?”

“I actually have to meet him in a few minutes.” You hesitantly spoke.

“Okay then Nancy can.”

“But-“ Nancy started.
“Thank you sweetheart.” Your Mom said pressing a kiss to your cheeks and swiftly moving to the closet to grab her jacket and purse.
You followed soon after while Nancy retreated to her room to see who picked you up but you simply walked until you were out of sight. Nancy was very curious about who you had snagged from the school because while you weren’t as close as you used to be she did know that you would never go for a guy older than eighteen.
The King of Hawkins High had one hand nervously trying to light the cigarette in his mouth while the other wiped the clammy hand on his jumping leg. You had just opened the door when he jumped blinking up at you.
“Hey.” You softly spoke pressing a kiss to his cheek, “You okay?”
“I’m meeting your family tonight! Of course I’m not okay!” He wheezed while you carefully took the lighter from his shaking hand and calmly lit his cigarette.
“You’ll be fine.” You calmly spoke, “My parents will love you.”

“You’re right.” Steve sighed leaning back, “Is my hair okay? Oh god it isn’t! I knew I should have sprayed it once more. We should go to the store so I can grab a new can.”
“Babe your hair is perfect. I didn’t think it could get any more perfect.” You soothed him kneeling on the passenger seat in his car.
“I don’t do this.” Steve huffed looking at you, “I don’t freak out over this kind of shit.”
“That’s because you had flings, nothing serious.” You calmly spoke shifting a piece of his hair out of his eye.
“See what you’ve done to me!” Steve exclaimed sighing as he put his head back on the seat, “I’m sorry.”
“You’re nervous. It’s understandable.” You smiled as he shuffled in his seat pulling at his shirt. You gently grabbed his hand to pull into into your lap, you placed circled gestures on his palm.
“Will Holly like me?” Steve took a deep breath in, “Kids have great judgement.”
“Holly’s three. She’ll be changing her interest multiple times.” You returned in the driveway of his house. On the way to your house he had done a u-turn to change his clothes again.
“I’m terrible with kids.” Steve shuddered looking at you.
“Have you ever spent time with children?” You questioned.

“No.”
“Then we don’t know.” You shrugged, “Now can we go? It’s five o’clock and supper is six.”
“I’m already being a terrible-“
“Just drive Steve.” You laughed as he put the car in drive with shaky hands. Once parked in front of the house he cast a look to the house before hurrying to open your door.
“Whatever happens. I love you.” Steve whispered pressing a kiss to your cheek.
“I love you too.”
Steve took a deep breath before raising his hand to knock on the brown wooden door you had known your entire life. The door opened with your mom standing there holding Holly on her hip. She looked confused before opening her mouth.
“Why are you knocking? Y/N could have brought you straight in.”
“That’s not polite.” Steve replied waving to Holly, “My parents always taught me manners.”

“Come in. We’re having chicken.” Mom smiled leading him to the living room, “You have a seat and I’ll call you in.”

“Can I help you with anything?” Steve asked.

“Could you watch Holly? I don’t like having her in the kitchen when I’m cooking.”
“Uh. Sure.” Steve gulped taking Holly from your mom. Holly gazed up at Steve with her hazel green eyes.
You retreated into the kitchen with your mom where your father was nursing a beer holding the newspaper as he attempted to help his wife. He wasn’t the most attentive father but he wasn’t terrible either. Mike was more than likely downstairs using his walkie talkie with his friends. Nancy was doing homework probably.
“He’s nice.” Mom said mixing the carrots on the stove.
“He’s here?” Dad said glancing up from the paper.
“He’s with Holly.” You mumbled glancing at your mom, “I knew that was a test.”

“You’re smart. Go get your brother. He didn’t take the garbage out this morning.” Mom stated plating the chicken.
“Mike!” You yelled to the stairs earning a exclaimed remark back, “Take the garbage out.”
Mike quickly came up the stairs sulking to the kitchen before returning to the living room holding the black bag and staring at Steve. You shoved him to the door before kneeling beside Holly with her blocks as Steve cautiously helped build them.
“You were right.” You mumbled.
“It’s a test.” Steve hummed smiling when Holly giggled pushing the blocks over.

“You passed.” You chuckled before your mom told you to go get Nancy from her room, “I’ll be right back.”
Steve nodded as you pressed a quick kiss to his cheek before hounding up the stairs to Nancy’s room across from your room. You shared a bathroom between you while Holly and Mike used the guest bathroom by their rooms. You saw Nancy was bent over her desk furiously writing.

“Hey Nancy? Supper is almost ready.” You quickly told her. She nodded before motioning you to go.
When you got downstairs Holly was colouring with Mike while Steve was awkwardly watching the two of them. Grabbing his hand you pulled him up the stairs to your room keeping the door only slightly ajar. He nervously glanced at the door as you pulled him onto the bed.
“I don’t think we should be doing this.” Steve chuckled as you pressed a kiss against the corner of his mouth.
“You need to relax.” You wickedly grinned pulled him on top of you, “Besides who said my parents listen?”
With another kiss on his skin he succumbed to your advances and began to kiss you back with fervour. One knee pressed tight to his side as your hand gripped the back of his neck. Pressed impossibly close without taking clothing off you quietly moaned. Shifting his attention to your neck you arched up into him.
“What time is it?” Steve mumbled huskily slowly moving his hand to your other leg to tug it around your waist.
“We have time.” You mumbled back gasping when he nipped at that one place that drove you completely nuts. He pressed closer than before with enough dragging force to pull a deep audible moan from your lips.
“We should stop.” Steve moaned grinding down on you disregarding actually following his words. You shook when his jeans zipped strongly dragged across your engorged clit. You quickly moved your hand between your bodies.
You undid the button before you nabbed his hand to shove his finger in the front of your keys and just the brushing of his knuckles on your intimate body parts sent you over the edge. Mewling time and time while you grabbed at Steve’s unneeded belt, his jeans were well fitted and tight, to undo it while he pushed his pants and boxers down far enough over his ass to reveal his thick cock. His hands made quick work of your jeans.
Jeans at your ankles with you panties pushed to the side Steve slid into your tight cunt aided by the frequent trysts in the back of his car and your wetness. Holding still you breathed in sync before you pulled back and slammed back up. A moan released as he took over the movements with ease and familiarity.
You had been a virgin before Steve while he had experience under his belt as you had expected with his reputation. When you first began your relationship with Steve you had promised not to be another notch on his belt. You drunkenly threw yourself at him once and he didn’t do it even as drunk as you. That settled your feelings mutually and became exclusive.
“Oh god.” You moaned arching up with a beautiful perfect circle on your pursed lips. Steve had never seen someone as beautiful as you.
“Come on baby.” Steve moaned as he reached down to circle furiously on your swollen clit. Your vision shattered as he swallowed your scream and he reached down further to play with his balls. Energy deleted you weakly shoved his hand from his balls to fondle them.
“Just like that.” Steve grunted shoving harder into your tight, wet cunt. With a groan you in turn swallowed he pulled out and came inside your mouth. He never tired seeing your lips stretched around his impressive girth.
You happily sighed as Steve helped you up from the bed. You caught the disappearing flash of brunette hair but you dismissed it as your sister obviously walking past your room. Steve grabbed one of your mint green face clothes to clean you up as you fixed his boxers and pants. Panties shoved deep in the back of Steve’s jeans as you pulled up the new pair unbeknownst to Steve’s eye.
“I’m fucked.” Steve grunted looking up at the ceiling.
“Well I hope it was my boyfriend I just fucked.” You teased bending down to open the cabinet below your sink. You felt the distance slap of your boyfriends hand before you grabbed your desired objects.
“Fabergé Organics and Farrah Fawcett spray.” Steve marvelled at the objects as you grabbed one of your blue towels.
“You have five minutes.” You sternly said ushering him to the deep sink. He made quick work while you grabbed your soiled sheets off your bed and into the laundry basket. Thank god it was laundry day tomorrow and your day to do it.
It was ten minutes before Steve stepped out of your bathroom with his hair back to being perfect while the only evidence was your mutual swollen lips. You had managed to fix your makeup and hair in your small mirror while also praying that nobody knew what you just finished.
“Relaxed?” You murmured from the comfort of his arms.
“Thanks to you.” Steve happily sighed into your arms breathing in the newly applied fragrance.
“If you behave I may have a special treat in your car later.” You whispered in his ear as you dragged him to the set table.
“Just in time.” Mom smiled as you all took your seat. Nancy being the last to enter the room in shock at Steve.
“Steve?”

“Nancy right?” Steve questioned sending you a loving look, “Nice to finally meet you all.”
Talk and homemade fried chicken were the present parts of the meal with Nancy pushing the mashed potatoes on her plate. She believed she had a chance with Steve Harrington while you had taken that away from her. All she wanted was to not be in your shadow but like always she never got what she wanted.
“Hopefully we’ll have you over again.” Mom said with her practiced smile that never looked even a hint fake.
Your dad spoke animatedly about sports that his family had no interest in to an equally animated teen holding your hand. Nancy was casting you glares every few minutes even if you were only looking at your boyfriend. Ever few minutes Steve would glance at you with this soft expression that Nancy was jealous about.
She wanted Steve to look at her that way. She wanted to be the girl he stupidly had sex with in her room with the door just a crack open with her parents downstairs. She wanted to the girl that he was happy to sacrifice a good example to her parents. Of course it was you who got to be that girl.
“What are your plans after high school?” Mom asked passing the mashed potatoes over to him. She had noticed that the mashed and chicken were Steve’s favourite on the table.
“I’m a junior at the moment so I’m still trying to pick my way through that. Y/N’s been helping me with that.” Steve grinned over at you.
“Are you going to be working with your dad?” Dad asked him with interest.
“No. I want to go to college but I want to earn it through a scholarship, I know my parents could pay for it but I want to do it myself.” Steve spoke after swallowing his food.
“Where are you planning on going?” Nancy coyly asked, “I could help you with school work.”
You easily recognized the seductive intent Nancy was displaying and while it annoyed you, it didn’t entirely bother you. Steve had openly admitted how in love with you he was and the future he envisioned. It was mutual so you were threatened by Nancy.
“Thanks for the offer.” Steve smiled, “But Y/N has a system that keeps me focused.”
“I bet.” Mike grunted pushing the food around on his plate. He was busy thinking about the girl in your basement only he knew about.
Nancy huffed leaning back in her chair not subtle in her glances at your boyfriend. When a simple pie was passed around for dessert you watched as Nancy became more open to flirting with him and Steve was oblivious.
“I’ll take the dishes in. Can you help Steve?” Nancy asked biting her lip.
“He’s the guest Nancy.” You rolled your eyes, “Besides it your dish duty.”
You gathered up some of the leftovers to bring into the kitchen to box them up, specifically making a plate in one for Steve. His parents were gone for the week up to a distant relative’s wedding and Steve had rejected the offer. He wasn’t a great cook so you knew he would appreciate the food.
“I’d appreciate it if you would stop trying to seduce my boyfriend.” You calmly said putting the leftovers in the fridge. Steve’s boxed food aside of course.
“I don’t know what your talking about.” Nancy mumbled scrubbing the plate.
“I don’t know what your deal has been lately. Actually since we got into high school but it needs to stop.”
“I don’t appreciate you taking everything from me.” Nancy exclaimed dropping the plate where it shattered at her feet.
“Excuse me?” You spoke up angered.
“It’s bullshit! All I ever hear is how you got a good grade, the beautiful drawing you did for Art class, being the DD at parties.” Nancy shouted, “How you always get any guy you want because you love having your lips around their-“
“Shut the fuck up.” You shouted clenching your fists, “Sorry I don’t plan on being around my textbooks every second of the day! Sorry I don’t want to let my friends chance losing their lives for being teenagers! I’m not a fucking slut either!”
“What about George, Thomas, Ian, Jackson and we can’t forget about Mr. West!” Nancy exclaimed as your parents and Steve ran into the kitchen. Mom seeing the shattered plate on the floor and the piece of mashed potatoes in your hand. You threw it causing it to splatter on your twins face.
“You fucking idiot! Thomas and George are gay! They’ve been hanging out with me to defuse the homophobic slurs! I’m the only person that doesn’t treat them as pieces of shit! Ian was my project partner in art! Jackson was just a jerk that kept hitting on me until Mr. West stopped it!”
“Why did I see Mr. West and you in his room?!” Nancy screamed wiping the food off her face. Dad stepped in as Nancy threw a glass at your face. Steve yanked you to his chest as the tears poured down your face and the blood oozing from a cut on his shirt.
“Nancy Wheeler!” Mom shouted with such fury it scared everyone, “You are grounded! No parties, you go to school and come home immediately! No television and no phone!”
“That’s not fair!” Nancy screamed, “She never gets in trouble! Ever!”
“Fuck you Nancy.” You coldly spoke twisting your head to stare at her, “I took the blame for shit you did growing up. I was the one who got groped by Jackson and Mr. West was the guidance counsellor who helped.”
“Go to your room! Y/N clean this up now.” Mom said before looking at Steve, “I’m so sorry you had to see this.”
Steve gently took the dust pan from your hands to clean the glass up carefully as you collapsed against the cupboards tearing up. It brought up memories of Jackson trying to force himself on you in the hallway and Mr. West stopping it.
“Are you okay?” Steve whispered cupping your face in his hands.
“No.” You admitted resting your hands on his looking at him, “My twin sister threw glass at my face!”
“I know.” Steve mumbled tugging you against his chest, “It will be okay. Remember what we talked about? Jackson is gone, you are safe and I will always be here.”
“I know.”
“I love you.”
“Love you too.” You mumbled blinking.
“I didn’t know she liked me.” Steve sighed, “Just know that I’ve never felt anything for her. My eyes and heart have always been transfixed with you. The most beautiful girl I have ever had the honour of meeting.”
“Can we go to your place?” You asked sniffling, “I’ll tell Mom Theresa is having a bad breakup.”
“Sure.” Steve whispered, “I can’t wait to get our own place together and build our own life.”
“Me too.”
