This game has been eng localised in the mobile app Story Jar (requires buying tickets to read). I bought the jp switch version because either way I still have to pay to read, but the switch is voiced while SJ isn't :’( But if you don't mind about voice, it's worth to give the game on SJ a go, the story is really interesting.

Lucia (duck, wears hood), Alfred (wolf, has eyepatch), Erik (rabbit, has green frog toy) and Matheus are the four princes of Fasan country. They got cursed into animals and MC (default name Tiana) bought them from the merchant Hannes. Her mom is a beastmaster, she wants to become one too hence she bought the animals to practice. 

I chose Erik first because Kaji Yuuki. Gentle-Erik and Bunny-form are cute but when he returns to his original personality, I like him more, e.g. when he threatens Gerda and Hannes with the knife, hawwwt (▼-▼*) and the last CG of him after 3 years ... I have no regrets buying this game (*´﹃｀*)

I couldn't wait until I got my hands on FE : Three Houses that I already ordered so I decided to kill some time by playing a game that I bought sometime ago and forgotten until I picked up my PS Vita again.

I'm not an avid fan of steampunk themes, but the trailer and the arts are really interesting. And it's on 60% discount. It's made by Otomate. So my poor wallet is once again fallen victim to my impulse.

As someone who is really picky with Otome games (the only notable ones that I love are Amnesia and Moujuutsukai to Oujisama), I can confidently say this game is one of the best. Really great worldbuilding and storytelling, interesting characters with their own heavy baggage of traumatic past, beautiful CGs and music, and of course, angst lol

The main character or the protagonist is a breath of fresh air too, since she is actually a capable heroine. Of course this is otome game and the protagonist must be a damsel in distress most of the time, but Cardia actually has some depth to her character. She has her own trauma because of her body condition and seclusion for most of her life. But she actually learns and apply it whenever she is in danger. She learns from the guys, who are the best at their respective fields (how to escape, memorizing layout of the city, handling dangerous chemicals, martial arts, driving automobiles, etc) and use it to stand on her own feet. Most of the times the enemies are just monsters that even the guys has difficulties going against so I won't fault her for failing, but against goons she can hold her own. She develops well from a despairing doll to a woman who will fight to live with her love and I respect her for that.

Each routes for the guys bring something new to the story from different perspective, which is amazing since most otome game fail at this. I am not too familiar with the seiyuus except Kaji Yuki (hey, he actually voiced a villain for once and not the main hero lol) and Suwabe Junichi, but everyone managed to convey the emotions of each character with their voice. Definitely recommended using headphones!

A bit of a warning though. The story is a bit on a dark side, which also raised a lot of moral questions. Definitely not your usual slice of life highschool otome game. The game made us questions what separates a human from a monster? Does an artificial life can be called alive when it doesn't possess a soul? How does one justify a war? Is it really right to sacrifice a few in order to save many people? To what extent you will taint your hands for your revenge? To save a country, does it makes it right to sacrifice other country? Questions like that are asked in every path, with each path focusing on a particular question. The protagonist, as someone who had never interact with outside world, was now asked these questions and the game managed to show her frustration, confusion, and naivety.

The characters are modeled after famous people in history or outright fantasy ones like Arsene Lupin, Abraham Van Helsing, Victor Frankenstein, Impey Barbicane, and Saint Germain. Each of them carried a traumatic past and secrets that they are reluctant to share, even to the protagonist. The common route is eight chapter long, and it teased us with hints and an insight to these characters which would only be fully revealed once we managed to get into their routes. It is a bit of a pain to skip through once you played it once, but the different bits when you choose different options is interesting enough that you won't fall asleep waiting. The otome game itself is action packed from start to finish, which was rare for otome game yet not diminish the romance between protagonist and the guy she choose. Even on the common route you will see guns shooting, bombs exploding, hijacking a train, airship race, even being chased by an assailant wearing that antique bird mask to a knight wearing full plate armor. Truly never a dull moment.

Overall, definitely recommend to play. For the ps4 there is a bundle for the three series of the game called a bouquet of memories if I'm not mistaken. I haven't seen them on discount again since I bought them months ago so maybe wait for a big holiday like Christmas? If you want to know which order of routes to play to enjoy the plot better, I recommend starting with Impey, then either Victor or Van, and leave Saint for the last. Lupin's path is considered the true ending, so his route can only be unlocked after you play the other four guys first and getting either normal or happy ending.

My fave husbando? Well...

This beautiful man, aka Saint Germain. He is usually a really calm and composed man who takes great joy in amusing shenanigans his friends and the protagonist usually ends up in. Rarely seen without his smile, he lets the others take charge and usually just follows whatever mission given to him by Lupin despite his hidden capabilities of fighting that rivals Van Helsing. He can be a bit mischievous and subtly insults people while showing innocent smile. His route may not be the true ending, but his route is the most emotionally charged one IMO. Both the protagonist and Saint learnt to love one another despite their 'duty', which had brought them endless suffering in the past and present. Through series of self sacrifices, they finally realized that what they both truly want is to live with each other rather than dying for the other. At the beginning of his route he can be mistaken as a yandere due to circumstances, but it's actually because he is wavering between his mission and his love. His route is the only route where I actually enjoy the bad endings, because it showed us an insight to what he truly feel than his usual mask. One bad ending in particular hits me really hard that I nearly cried lol.

I won't review the other guys since other than him, Lupin is probably the only other one I liked. Victor, Impey, and Van are all great characters and their routes are an adventure on their own too, but they don't move my heart as much as Saint lol and I ship Lupin with Sherlock more than the protagonist X'D I don't mind threesome between Cardia/Saint/Lupin though

Please Support the BeastMaster and Prince Kickstarter!!! It’s one of my top fav otome games and Tiana is one of my fav heroines! 

I know people have been a been a bit put off by some of the disorganization but it seems clear they are listening as they already added more spaces on the current top tier. It hasn’t even been full 2 days yet So I want to be on the optimistic side that they legitimately need time to address all the issues!
